On another front…. Unplanned the movie is a must 👀. It is hard to watch, but well done. Names are dropped as to 3 Big PP funders, the Hungarian S man, Microsoft mogul , and Warren Buffett. Abby Johnson’s hubby is a rock, talk about steadfast and unconditional love! Also, keep prayers going, after Abby gets out of PP, she tells how it affects the no show rate for appointments, especially if done at PP site. You can’t watch this movie and think of abortion the same way…EVER again. It should be required viewing for anyone over age 12. After seeing the movie, I believe 99% would NEVER agree to the barbaric procedure for the rest of their lives.
It’s not as graphic as I expected, but what they show leaves no doubt in your mind what is happening during the different methods of abortion. I’m glad I saw it but can’t say it wasn’t an emotional roller coaster.

If we look at history, we should not be surprised that there are numerous countries around the world seeking to replace the US dollar as a reserve currency. Recall that in response to a sharp rise in inflation in 1970 and 1971, Nixon decoupled the US dollar from gold rather than let gold flow out of the US. People holding dollars (and/or contracting to sell something for dollars, etc.) need to consider whether we might be inclined to allow (or embrace) inflation as a mechanism to reduce the true price of paying these debts and satisfying our unfunded liabilities. And in doing so, they have to look at Nixon’s example.
Alexander Hamilton’s greatest contribution to our nation was forcing the federal government to guarantee that all the debts incurred by the colonies in the revolutionary war would be repaid. This entailed the need for a larger federal government so as to have a collection mechanism to raise the money, but this was a price well worth paying to show the world that the US could be trusted with money. It also encouraged our society to embrace the ethos that good people repay their debts. To this day, we benefit from his foresight.

(This happened in the 1700s, especially in what is now Colombia–Spain (then the owner of Colombia) actually had to ban private possession of platinum). It has even greater density than gold (21.45) and will pass the acid test. So a bar of gold/platinum/copper allow will test the same for weight, but once plated with 24 kt gold will probably also pass the acid test, too.
*the acid test is to literally put some acid on the metal. If it bubbles, it’s reacting with the acid, and neither gold nor platinum will do so. The current phrase “passing the acid test” originated as an allusion to this test for whether something was solid gold or not.

Well, I meant the microphone being turned on even while you’re not making a call. And as far as I know, the answer is no–it’s not any safer in that regard than a smartphone.
There is a company working on a smart phone that has a physical switch that disconnects the microphone. In addition to a lot of other features at the software level.
A physical “kill” switch makes it impossible to spy through the microphone, even if the software is compromised somehow (you have total control on this phone, unlike with Android and Crapple).
Which is why I keep it. Sadly, tho, I am going to have to replace it soon. I have replaced the battery once and it needs a new one again, and the cover over the charging port is now gone. It is Verizon’s dust/water/shock resistant model, which I have used since way back when I first got a cell phone – I had horses then so I needed something rugged.

One of the most important jobs of the Executive Branch is protecting its own independence, President Trump has acknowledged that himself with respect to declassifying data, and DoJ has this very high on their agenda in all administrations. Executive Privilege is routinely asserted and kept mindful of. Congress is always trying to be the most powerful branch and usually prevails when considered over long timespans. DoJ does not have to show courtesy to Congress over unConstitutional matters, in fact they need to stomp them out.
Why do you avoid considering the danger of Speaker Pelosi or Leader Schumer telling DoJ to indict specific persons in the Executive Branch? What is unconscionable is not understanding this simple concept that repeats ad infinitum throughout our history. I remember Blade’s well-thought out response to SD’s remarks. Being a Sessions supporter, it was satisfying to see someone present a logical argument for the other side.
I still believe many of POTUS’ tweets were red herrings, squirrels, and breadcrumbs. SD believed we should take POTUS at his literate word, but somehow, for me, there were just too many puzzle pieces that didn’t fit if one tracked that path.
And again, there was my Unified Theory of the men – both POTUS and Jeff Sessions.
Oh, and I loved Blade’s understanding of Donald Trump, the New Yorker. Us native-born New Yorkers sometimes feel that folks don’t quite understand us. 🙂

I am a complusive note taker. Copy and past makes it easy to save interesting comments or parts of articles in a word program especially after I discovered a decade or so ago that google would scrub information or information would change over time with no evidence it did so. (No wonder my poor old computer is so slow)
Those Blade comments no longer exist except in my computer, here and perhaps in Blade’s computer.
I remember reading and rereading Blade’s remarks, and thought here was someone who understood Donald Trump and the entire path laid out by him and his closest advisers. At that time, I didn’t realize that Sessions’ supporters were finding their welcome mat pulled. I simply stopped talking about Sessions because the blowback wasn’t worth it. I also accepted what SD had to say, and figured it was just a difference of opinion.
Even now, in the conservative twittersphere, there are differences. I believe Blade understood what was happening w/ the people POTUS retained.

At least one person died and 17 people were injured after a gas explosion shook downtown Durham and destroyed buildings on Wednesday.
The injured people include a Durham firefighter, who was in serious condition, and a Dominion Energy employee. Six other people were transported in critical condition, officials said.
According to a Facebook post at about 3:30 p.m., the injured firefighter was out of surgery and was “doing well.”
Officials said everyone who was injured was taken to either Duke Medical Center or Duke Regional Hospital. One person was then transferred to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center.
Durham Fire Chief Robert Zoldos said that everyone who was inside the building has been accounted for, but that crews are still working to maneuver through debris.
“[It’s an] entire structure that’s down. It looks like the front of the Pentagon on 9/11 on a very, very, very small scale. I know that because I was a first responder to the Pentagon,” Zoldos said.
The city of Durham said that firefighters were dispatched to a gas leak at 9:38 a.m. to the 100 block of North Duke Street, where contractors were drilling and struck a 2-inch natural gas line.
Fire crews began evacuating the area, and the explosion occurred at 10:07 a.m.
In a statement, Dominion Energy said that a PSNC Energy employee responded to a call about damage to the line before the explosion occurred. Flames broke out, and the building partially collapsed.
Additional PSNC crews arrived at 10:26 a.m. and shut off gas to the area around 11:10 a.m., Dominion Energy said.
The city of Raleigh said that its hazmat team and the urban search and rescue team was dispatched to Durham.
Durham, NC is within 50 miles of us. We do a lot of gigs there.
DUke is a very good hospital as is UNC. Our local hospital stinks so we never use it.
I hope & pray everyone recovers fully. Burns can be so very very bad and cause life long handicaps. We had explosions at four of the chemical plants I worked at. No one killed but some very severe injuries.
A cousin posted that he was safe in Durham. He’s in graduate school there.

Though President Trump said he would block money transfers to Mexico to fund a much-needed border wall, Mexicans in the U.S. sent a record $33.48 billion in remittances last year and a big chunk of it flowed through a government program operated by the Federal Reserve. This means that, amid an onslaught of illegal immigration, the U.S. government is largely responsible for the billions in remittances flowing south of the border from illegal aliens. Figures released by Mexico’s central bank show that 104 million transactions were executed in 2018, nearly six million more than the previous year.
Uncle Sam facilitates the process with a program called “Directo a Mexico” (Direct to Mexico), launched by the Federal Reserve, the government agency that serves as the nation’s central bank, more than a decade ago. President George W. Bush came up with the idea following the 2001 U.S.-Mexico Partnership for Prosperity to provide low-cost banking services to illegal immigrants and facilitate the procedure for those sending money home. In its first year, 2005, remittances to Mexico topped $20 billion and the Federal Reserve reports “double-digit percentage growth for the past several years.” Remittances are transferred through the Federal Reserve’s own automated clearinghouse linked directly to Mexico’s central bank (Banco de Mexico). The Trump administration should eliminate it because it undermines our nation’s immigration laws and is a potential national security nightmare.
Back in 2006 Judicial Watch investigated the outrageous taxpayer-subsidized initiative and obtained government records that shed light on how it functions. Marketing materials target immigrant workers in the U.S.—regardless of their legal status—as well as banks, credit unions and other financial institutions. The program is promoted as “the best way to send money home,” offering “more pesos for every dollar.” American financial institutions are charged $0.67 per item to transfer money from the United States to Mexican banks, ensuring a “highly competitive rate.” The Federal Reserve also provides participating U.S. financial institutions with Spanish language promotional materials to “help get your message out.” The marketing materials also include the number of Mexican migrants in the U.S. with no distinction between those here illegally or not. A separate list identifies thousands of Mexican banks receiving “Directo a México” transfers.
When the program was created Federal Reserve officials acknowledged that most of the Mexican nationals who send money back home are illegal immigrants so a Mexican-issued identification is the only requirement to use the government banking service. A colorful brochure promoting “Directo a Mexico” offered to help immigrants who don’t have bank accounts and assured the best foreign exchange rate and low transfer fees. A frequently asked question section posed this: “If I return to Mexico or am deported, will I lose the money in my bank account?” The answer: “No. The money still belongs to you and can easily be accessed at an ATM in Mexico using your debit card.” In short, the U.S. created this special banking system specifically for illegal aliens and tens of billions of dollars have streamed through it.
As a presidential candidate Trump proposed a plan to get Mexico to fund a border wall by cutting off remittance payments from Mexican migrants in the U.S. In a memo to a mainstream newspaper Trump wrote that Mexican migrants send $24 billion in remittances annually and the estimated cost of a border wall would be between $5 billion and $10 billion. According to his plan, the U.S. Patriot Act would be amended to block wire transfers from Mexican nationals using companies such as Western Union. Nowhere in the document is the Federal Reserve’s special program, which clearly caters to illegal immigrants. The president is well aware that the overwhelming majority of remittances to Mexico are sent by those living in the U.S. illegally. In fact, his proposal was to create a rule that “no alien may wire money outside of the United States unless the alien first provides a document establishing his lawful presence in the United States.” The Federal Reserve’s “Directo a Mexico” has no such requirement as the commander-in-chief completes his first term.

April 10 (Reuters) – Minnesota authorities arrested 58 people accused of attempting to solicit children for sex or for trafficking in a sting operation staged during the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament, state authorities said on Wednesday.
The sting, which resulted in the rescue of 28 victims from trafficking situations, including one minor, occurred Friday through Monday as undercover agents posed as minors or as sex buyers and chatted with suspects on social media platforms. Investigators arrested the suspects as they arrived at an arranged meeting place for an encounter, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety said in a statement.
Those arrested were not part of a single sex-trafficking ring, Jill Oliveira, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension with the Department of Public Safety, said.
“These were separate instances where they either responded to undercover officers posing as sex buyers or undercover officers posing as minors,” Oliveira said….
A total of 47 people were booked on felony charges of solicitation of a minor or solicitation of prostitution with someone under 16 years of age, while another 11 were booked on probable cause of sex trafficking and promotion of prostitution, the agency said.
A friend says Interstate 80 is a big child sex trafficking highway. (She was a real wild child in the Iowa/Nebraska area twenty years ago.) She repeats that every time I bring the subject up.
The highway runs from San Francisco California to Teaneck NJ so I think she is probably correct.
From my VERY vague memories of a drive into Manhattan in 2002 as well as Wikipedia to back them up:
Curiously, I-80 ends in Teaneck by becoming I-95–I don’t get the impression that travelers on it have to take a ramp to continue on I-95, and I remember no such thing–but of course someone here will know the area better. Not only that but even the exit numbers seem to be continuous, but that’s fortuitous coincidence. If you keep driving, you do end up in Nyoo Yawk City, near the south end of Manhattan.
So it actually serves as a direct route from San Fran to NYC in all but name.
I would imagine I-10 (Jacksonville to Santa Monica), I-70, and I-90 (Boston to Seattle) are major corridors for vice as well. I-10 I’m sure is given its route. I-44 and I-55 are big drug corridors. They hook up with 70 at the Mississippi River.
I’m beginning to really wonder about the altruism of putting in whole system.
It was Eisenhower after WWII. He was thinking of trying to move an army around the USA. The highways are SUPPOSED to be built to withstand Tank Traffic! (Especially the bridges)
As I was researching the interstate system, I came to understand that it was actually conceptualized before WWII, and the layout was being worked on in the late 40s. Eisenhower just happened to be the one in office when they got started on it. He was NOT an advocate for putting the interstates through the cities rather than around them, but the people really in charge overruled him.

The Eisenhower story has been told over and over. Someone else told me the same thing over 20 years ago, and at the time it sounded too simple for what actually came to be. Sure enough, once the automobile was a force of life, roads had to be improved. That became the US highway system, but those roads weren’t nearly as efficient as the new development even if we still use most of them.
I-90 runs by me about 50 miles north. It is well-known as a trafficking corridor.
There have been many Native American women who have gone missing from the Reservations here.

I would imagine all of the long ones are trafficking corridors.
Living on the I 80 corridor, it’s a huge trafficking proble. We also have a north-south I 29 that meets in Omaha. In June when the College World Series is here trafficking is at its highest! There are warnings all over the place for parents and for young girls and even boys who are attending the college World Series to be extremely alert and careful.

For example: Note the rapidity of appointments and confirmations now happening in the Senate. Yes, McConnell is Swamp, but he is also no fool. He DID NOT have the votes in POTUS’ first two years to get rid of the cloture vote change – from 30 hrs to 2 hrs. Getting 53 senators gave him what he needed. Critical. As it turned out, we needed those 2 extra seats to make up for the expected betrayals by at least 1 or 2 of our folks.

I’m not defending McConnell, but strangely enough there is a way to understand him. He is a process man, and long-term does things by “regular order” – During the Kavanaugh hearings he indicated this was the best time of his entire time as a Senator. I think he gets what is happening.
It’s helpful if people understand that he could not get rid of that cloture rule without his own side delivering 51 votes for the rule change – he did not have those votes last Congress. This was true for other bills as well, so while we were frustrated, he knew his GOP Senators and that the weak sisters among them would blow votes. He doesn’t bring legislation to the floor without being sure (or for a purpose)…

Sad…I have been reading here for months. I have tried to post 3 times – all messages encouraging unity with OT, SD and other MAGA/Trump supporters and discouraging trolling OT/SD and divisive criticism. The posts don’t make through “moderation”.
Makes me wonder what the standards are. Snark allowed. Calls for unity not allowed–>>on a site that prides itself on free speech. SMH.

No you don’t need to have a blog. It’s just like discus. You just open an account. I opened a wordpress account probably 10-11 years ago. I have never had any problems. Ever. I sign in once and just stay signed in. The only time i have to sign in again is if I have had to shut down my device or got a new one. On my phone and tablet I use Chrome. On my computer I use Firefox. No problems EVER.
So now my post goes straight through when just I think I am posting a message only to wolf and the moderators?! Now I am confused as I still don’t find my prior posts.
Well, either way, I read here every day (along with other refuges for conservatives) and will continue to do so as high quality content from commenters that are missed in other places. I have had similar problems at other sites. A couple years ago E.M. Smith and Jo Nova kindly investigated at their blogs and found the comments had gone straight into trash instead of moderation.
Here some of my comments have completely disappeared and have not even made it to trash according to Wolfie.
Also Wolfie mentioned earlier today that he is getting messed with again so that could be the problem.

I doubt that your inability to post was due to any kind of moderation unless it was the initial moderation period for new posters (Wolfmoon can address this better) …more likely due to WordPress issues. I’ve been posting here for several months and I still run into occasional problems posting things. WordPress can be like that, I guess.
As far as unity…it’s hard to be unified with a site that banned so many loyal members from posting at all. That’s how this site came into existence.
In the end we all support President Trump so your sentiments are understood.

Sure, there is snark too. Possibly some measure of understanding can be offered for those who were banned for no reason, with no notice, and who had some anger to process or still feel some residual bitterness. This has been a place to vent and to heal.

Not sure if you realize the following. It is why calls for unity are a bit of a sore point here with many. It opens up old wounds.
We – nearly every single one of us – were BANNED from the “other treehouse” – for talking about Q *here* – not there. So while your appeals for unity are appreciated by some of us, you are likely not aware of the fact that somebody at CTH banned each one of us by coming over here and seeing who was posting here, then banning us there. They missed a few, but they got most of us.
Many of us tried to remain on CTH and behaved in a very civil fashion. We did not talk about Q – AT ALL. But no – we were banned for talking about Q here.
Unity is not OUR choice. We can forgive, we can still like and admire Sundance (I certainly do), but we cannot post there. Also, many of the Q posters here were driven away by people “virtue signalling” to Sundance how stupid, wrong, crazy, deluded, etc., the Q folks were. Personally, I just laugh at that stuff, but many of the ladies here were REALLY driven off the site by that behavior. I PROMISED those people that I would not allow their critics to come here.
Thus, I have no intention of letting ANY of the posters over there who attacked, maligned, and drove off many of the Q people who are now here, to follow them onto this site and harass them here.
No attacking or belittling the Q folks is allowed here. It’s disruptive to the MAGA mission. I think you would agree with that. Other forms of disruption will not be allowed here as well.
