Dear MAGA: 20190527 Open Topic

This Memorial Day Monday Open Thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA world.

This is a day when we honor our fallen warriors, who…along with their families…have sacrificed so much, so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have.

Our Nation owes a debt of gratitude to our fallen warriors…and to our wounded warriors.

Even though they do not ask for thanks, we can never thank them enough.

A Memorial Day Remembrance
We must always remember
With great honor and pride,
Those who fought for our freedoms,
Especially those who died.
May those memories remain
Fresh, secure in our minds
Of those who gave their lives
Both for us and mankind.
Welcome Home
The sun shines brightly on a cool, crisp day;
Faint sounds on the breeze, a few blocks away.
The parade is coming, drawing slowly near,
Toward a small crowd straining to hear.
Some people sit on blankets on the grass,
Some on chairs, as the parade marches past.
A frail old man, very thin with white hair,
Sits alone, by himself, in an old wheelchair,
Wearing a garrison cap with a flag pin,
Speaking to nobody, nobody speaking to him.comment image
The flag passes by, but nobody cares,
Except for the vet in his old wheelchair.
The flag passes by, but nobody stands,
Except for the vet, held up by his hands.
The flag passes by, but nobody cheers.
The old vet holds on, eyes full of tears.
The parade passes by, moving down the street;
The old vet, now trembling, shuffles his feet,
And with a soft groan, eases into his chair.
He sits for a while, head bowed in prayer.
He doesn’t pray for himself, for less pain,
Or to be able to walk, even with a cane.
He prays for our country, our own free land,
And for our people, who did not stand
To honor the flag for which his friends died,
Protecting freedoms of those sitting curbside.
He raises his head, face wet with tears,
Thinking of the flag that he holds so dear.
With the parade gone, he wheels slowly away,
Remembering his friends from back in the day.comment image
The wheelchair sits empty, by a small bed;
Nearby, a Bible, well worn and well read.
Just a few days ago, the old vet died,
But no one by his grave, no one to cry.
No flowers at all, just the bare ground,
On a dull, gray day, not even a sound.
On the small marker, a short two-line note
Taped onto the stone, somebody wrote:
“Asleep now, at last, under the sod,
Welcomed in heaven by friends and by God.”comment image

I couldn’t read it because I’m still in tears over the picture of the woman lying on her husband’s grave.

I had to skip over some of those pictures rather quickly.

Sylvia Avery

Thank you for another special thread. Deeply emotional.
Thank you for the reminder that our dead and wounded veterans are real people who were loved dearly and are mourned daily. It is right that we take a few moments to say a prayer of gratitude or just remember for a moment the price that has been paid.
And then I hope everyone remembers to hug their loved ones and enjoy the first day of summer.

Sylvia Avery

You did a wonderful job. <3 <3 <3

Plain Jane

Bakocarl. Wow, just, wow. Plus thank you.

Sylvia Avery

Thank you for your moving tribute. It makes me think of my granduncles who were WWI vets.

Sylvia Avery

grand uncles? that’s better, isn’t it

who brought extra tissues?
this was powerful
but to be honest, wheatie all your above photos had me in tears already
very moving

No words. ::Tears::

Gil

Japanese state dinner tonight right? Schedule says he will meet with families of victims of noko early in the day. Thats interesting. After the dinner do they leave Japan for home or?
Fashion photos too….

Kalbo

Do they head home? Good question. Had heard it was two days in Japan. Then three or four. Must include travel.
Also read President Trump would visit Yokosuka Naval Base. Both Japanese and US Navy operate out of Yokosuka. And, President Trump is reportedly planning to visit a Japaese warship. A first for an American President.
Following posted in yesterday’s thread…
Worth noting this Memorial Day weekend…
“The Sullivans” is the Yokosuka base elementary school.
– “The Sullivans” in remembrance and honor of the five Sullivan brothers who died while serving onboard the USS Juneau.
– Juneau was sunk by the Japanese during World War II.
President Trump is scheduled to visit Yokosuka while in Japan.
– Rather sure President Trump will helo to Yokosuka.
– Places to land include, Seventh Fleet Flag Ship, USS Blue Ridge (LCC 2), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and a helo pad on Fleet Activities Yokosuka.
Additionally, there are ~ten Cruisers and Destroyers home ported in Yokosuka.

Gil

Thank you! Thats a very different Memorial Day from many years past, esp being in Japan. I suspect theres a reason for business arrangements or something Q related that requires extra time abroad. I hope we see more of the visit tomorrow.
Im not sure I can bbq but I can broil. Can you all believe its 52 degrees and raining? Strange socal weather.

Kalbo

Absolutely lost it…the stoic little boy, obviously his heart broken. Receiving the American Flag, that I assume was draped on his fallen Mom or Dad’s coffin. Heartbreaking.
Wheatie, Great tribute to our fallen heroes, and their families. Thank you.

Freedom is not Free and All gave some, but some gave All.
Abba Father, This day is not a cliche’ or about great sales. It is about our fallen ones that willingly gave and served. I am so thankful for the fallen ones who have paid for my freedom with their blood. May I never degrade or disregard their sacrifice. I pray that you comfort and keep their family this day. Thank you for the Gold star families for the sacrifice for which we can never repay. May YAH Bless You, Keep You, and Strengthen You in all your days ahead. In the name of Yeshua, Amen

Abba Father,
I thank you for the freedom that I have because of the ultimate sacrifice of those willing to serve this country and it’s citizens. May You strengthen, keep, bless, and comfort the Gold Star families of this Qtree and our nation. Guard and keep my sister Sylvia on this day and all her days ahead. Thank You for Yeshua, and His sacrifice. fThank you, that you do not treat us as our sins deserve. All praise, honor, glory, power, and love belong to You. In the name of Yeshua, Amen.

Amen kalbren2r1 –From the lyrics of a Billy Ray Cyrus Song
Now Sandy Kane is no longer here but his words are oh so clear
As they echo throughout our land
For all his friends who gave us all who stood the ground and took the fall
To help their fellow man
Love your country live with pride and don’t forget those who died
America can’t you see
All gave some some gave all
Some stood through for the red white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me think of all your liberties
And recall some gave all

Sylvia Avery

kalbren, I’m so grateful to be remembered in your prayer. This is always such a bittersweet day. I am praying for you and your son. Romans 8:28

kalbren2r1

You’re welcome. Sylvia. I bet it is a hard day. It is hard for me and our son did not pay the ultimate price. Thank you for your prayers for our son. He is planted in a dark place to bring YAH’S light. He says it is much easier than a deployment. He has a small group of fellow inmates that he shares Yah’s Word and Q’s red pills. WHY WE FIGHT:comment image

Deplorable Patriot

Yes, Orwell called it. Although, his writings were never meant to be a training manual.

I don’t want to distract from this beautiful thread… but I did want to say that we did finally make it safely to our destination.
We were being chased by storms the entire time and narrowly missed a major cell with radar+spotter confirmed tornado warning. Lots of hail up to quarter sized, barely got through before they shut down the Interstate. I was going to pull off but there was literally no wheres not even a ditch that was safe. But we had good visibility and the storm track was perpendicular to the highway, safest option was to push forward and get out of harms way. We broke through the storm and drove about two hours before another severe line formed and caught up with us. Literally the entire route had tornado warnings and video footage on the evening news from origin to destination.
Please keep us in prayer because we get to do it all again tomorrow!
I’m very exhausted but glad to have a chance to honor our fallen heroes. My internet isn’t very good right now but I hope this one comes through:

In case it doesn’t come through, they are talking with the soldiers whose duty assignment is to stand guard over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Exacting precision. But most telling was that even in the face of a hurricane making landfall they stood watch over the tomb according to their orders.

kinthenorthwest

michaelh May the good Lord keep you all in His loving protective hands

Plain Jane

Prayers for you and yours. May you all arrive back home safely.

Sylvia Avery

So glad you made it through. Praying for safe travels for you.

NebraskaFilly

Wonderful video of the OG! For those of you who have never attended a Changing of the Guard, the atmosphere is quiet, almost silent, poignant and incredibly moving. If people speak, pretty much anything above a whisper, I have seen the Guard stop and address them about remaining silent. If someone tries to cross the rope, he will stop, come to port arms, and confront them.
The Guards are required to sleep there at the Tomb during their period of duty. There is an entire complex underneath the amphitheater where they sleep, dress, eat, etc., etc. They are NOT allowed to leave. VERY strict moral code – even a hint of being pulled over for drunk driving? GONE!. That’s not to say the guys didn’t like to party, now. It was a matter of being smart about it.
I have mentioned this before, but it remains significant to me. I was privileged to know the first Puerto Rican, Miguel Matos, to gain the honor of being a Guard. Great guy! I teased him unmercifully, tho – I would say, “Ah, Miguel, you Newyorican!” He would get all huffy and puff himself up, “No, no, no, no!!! Me PUERTO RICAN!!!” So funny! Well, maybe you had to be there. LOL
My daughter’s Godfather, and my close friend, who was a Guard for a long period of time had serious problems with his knees when he left the military. All of that delightful precision comes at a cost.

Christians are being slaughtered by the 100s monthly by Muslims.
OPINION: Genocide of Christians reaches ‘alarming stage’
https://worldisraelnews.com/opinion-genocide-of-christians-reaches-alarming-stage/#.XOsLVu8xrC8.twitter
“Christian persecution ‘at near genocide levels,’ was the title of a May 3rd BBC report citing a lengthy interim study ordered by British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and led by Rev. Philip Mounstephen, the Bishop of Truro.
According to the BBC report, one in three people around the world suffer from religious persecution, with Christians being “the most persecuted religious group.”

Over 6,000 last year, 100s every month still going on this year.
Been going on for several years now 2010 or even earlier.
Media Ignores Slaughter of Nigerian
Christians
“At least 120 Nigerian Christians have been killed since early February in a string of violent attacks that are being attributed to Fulani militants.
On March 11 alone, a string of attacks left 53 dead and 143 homes destroyed in the villages of Inkirimi and Dogonnoma in the Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Nigeria.”

And you don’t see it in the leftist MSM because, as Imam Tawhidi explained, they are in bed with the left wing politicians and the Islamists/fundamentalists.

kinthenorthwest

Yet we see all the attacks on Mosques

NebraskaFilly

What do you mean “all the attacks on Mosques?” There aren’t all that many, in actuality, unless you call someone leaving bacon near the door of a mosque an “attack.”

kinthenorthwest

You got that right Nebraska
Its been 2 so far this year.
That doesn’t even come close to the number of Christians killed in a month or christian churches burned in a month.

kinthenorthwest

Not sure if was this thread or something on tweeter that brought this song to mind
Here is one last Sunday night post for Memorial Day.(then off to bed)
From Kevin Costner….
Costner and Modern West sung the song on April 14, 2012 at a ceremony in which a memorial was dedicated in honor of five soldiers from Fort Knox, Kentucky, who had been killed in Afghanistan. “This loss of a child, a husband, a daughter… we know that a song can’t heal that,” Costner said during the performance. “But, ‘When the Angels Came Down,’ that’s what we like to think, that when our loved one was suffering the most, that angels covered them, (took) away their fear and took away the pain. And, if we can live with that idea, I think we can all sleep a little better.”

wolfmoon1776

Oh, that WICKED Brennan.
JAMES Files is the guy who claims to have made that head shot.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Files

Tonawanda

I have watched the entire Files interviews at YT, and it is impossible to dismiss him. Well worth viewing.
Files’ description comports with some of the interesting detail from witnesses actually around the knoll (including behind the fence), as well as the suggestion of mafia involvement.
But there are some problems which I forget, now, except for the physics problem, that the head shot had to come from below.

wolfmoon1776

I suspect that multiple shooters were involved, mutually unaware, not all necessarily successful, because this provides for great confusion and deniability, and THAT was in fact the Fake News M.O. in the aftermath.
They had Oswald, who spent much time in Russia (sent into a full trap by KGB-CIA traitors) as the full MK job – mind fried – we have no idea, but he probably fired shots. Probably the preferred patsy.
They had Files – connectable to the Mafia that was WILLING TO TAKE HEAT, but not Italian, so they could easily protest as needed. Both he and Oswald could play off each other in the blame game.
Maybe others in the crowds and buildings.
They had Ruby NAIL Oswald to maximally direct focus there (psych trick) and make sure the MK job was never discovered.
(White Hats getting any ideas there?)
They had the SS insider. Very likely the REAL KILLER, covered by the others, in case they missed, but even if they missed. Probably instructed to GO after shots fired.
Bring out the “they all did it” Garrison pic!
We all knew it was a conspiracy. But thanks to FAKE NEWS and FAKE NEWS DEMOCRATS, we never knew what a REAL conspiracy looks like.
DISINFORMATION – the ultimate protection of the Kennedy assassins.

Tonawanda

Agree with all of what you say.
I was onboard with the Oswald story for a LONG time, and read the Bugliosi and books (begins with P, Case Closed) and they closed my mind on the matter.
What opened my mind was YT, and watching the interviews Mark Lane did with a number of VERY credible witnesses soon after the event. Wow. Mind opened! Renewed interest, and intense.
I could not believe how gullible and shallow I had been. And even the debunkers were clever disinformation!
What especially shocked and saddened me was watching Firing Line, Buckley interviewing Lane from back then.
Now, Buckley was my hero as an adolescent in the 60’s. I admired him for a long, long time.
I may have even seen this interview, almost certainly did. I watched faithfully.
Buckley’s approach totally avoided the fact. His questioning was purely directed to undermining Lane’s credibility by attacking Lane’s leftwing politics.
I am all in favor of attacking leftwing politics, but Buckley’s questioning was deeply disturbing because it was so illogical and only vaguely relevant. And Lane calmly recited the facts, none of which Buckley addressed.
I LOVED Stone’s movie as a movie, so well done, but when I watched it I thought “this is really good for a guy who is a lunatic.” Now I realize my mistake.
And looking at Oswald now — he KNOWS. The reality of his set up is stunning to him, but he keeps his cool. I feel very sorry for him. He was probably a genuine patriot.

wolfmoon1776

An operation as complex and successful as the Kennedy assassination could construct almost any false narratives it wanted to. It’s very scary, actually.

It was Brennan’s words, along with the other of his Commie comrades last week that gave me concern about the safety of POTUS. It was more than the usual chatter. Pelosi’s coded messaging when speaking of an “intervention” added up to “187” – that police code for homicide.
Very concerning.

“Swoon”, Butterfly flutters strenuously as she tries to get up off the floor 🦋🦋🦋☺️🥰💗

That is one heck of an award. And I remain impressed that our President, at his age, was quite capable of lifting that up. And in a kevlar vest and suit jacket and tie. He is amazing!

Not a day to be cheapened by turning it into “barbecue day.”

cthulhu

Actually, I had hoped it could be ennobled by making it a feast day. With steak on the barbie.

SteveInCO

As you will.
My main complaint is with those who forget the real reason for the day and turn it into nothing but a barbecue day. I should have been clearer.

Sylvia Avery

I knew what you meant. It is right to remember and be grateful, or if you’ve personally lost a love one to miss them. And then it is good to move ahead and live life and enjoy the day and be glad to be alive.
Your post was lovely and kind. And appreciated.

j4260T

When I view the photos of this beautiful, elaborate location my first thought is that POTUS must feel right at home! LOL.
I remember how scornful the MSM was about his home in NYC…and then Mar a Lago until people pointed out it’s not any different than most of European (and, as we can see here) other places throughout the world….including, I might add many in the Middle East.
Presidents Bush, Carter and even Reagan might enjoy the rural ranch settings but POTUS Trump is a born and bred city boy who has much difference taste and appreciation for the craftsmen of the past.

Sylvia Avery

I am surprised Q has resonated in Japan. When I think of Japan, I don’t think of people suppressed by globalism. They strike me as a nationalistic bunch of people. But maybe that’s the answer–that’s why it interests them, because they are already in sync with the ideas and values????

ladypenquin

Exactly. Wheatie. Because they are very Nationalistic – they can appreciate the message of “Q” – they make no apologies for being Japanese and honoring their country. It’s also why they restrict seriously restrict immigration – looking at Islam! Doubt that psycho Rep Ilhan would be allowed in a junket.

Tonawanda

Wonderful morning laugh!

ladypenquin

It happened to me a few weeks ago. 🙂

That Betty White pin-up girl pic, … hummada 💓😍😋

SteveInCO

It absolutely is that big; it’s far bigger than all of North America, and it’s very diverse both in terms of climate and geography, and in terms of human genetics. Africa has most of the genetic variation in our species, and everyone outside of Africa comes from a comparatively small branch of our genetic “family tree.”
As for Lincoln, the Commies have been trying to claim him as their own, claiming he would have been one of them. It’s *possible* he would have ended up as part of the movement that led to the early 20th century progressive movement (like Theodore Roosevelt) if he had not been shot.

bflyjesusgrl

So the Romans invented the first Leatherman’s?? 😎😃😎

Pat Frederick

thanks wheatie!!!
I am going to savor these later this afternoon…but that first one reminds me of the movie Monument’s Men–the group that tried to track and retrieve so much of the stolen artwork from that war. The actors themselves are not notable, but the story IS compelling.

tom f

Memorial Day and tears:
After my turn in the war I went back to work, met a girl, got married, and started a family (it wasn’t picture perfect but does fit neatly into one sentence). I just went back to the ‘world’ and began my attempt at ‘fitting in’.
Never joined any post military organizations such as the VFW or the Vietnam Veterans of America. Never to this day attended a parade. I can’t explain why. I guess I wanted no parts of any reminders of my ‘tour of duty’. Didn’t know at the time but I was mentally wounded………..I’d seen enough.
48 years later I’m a member of the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, VFW, USMC Vietnam Tankers Association (I was a grunt, but they publish my stories), Second Battalion Ninth Marines Association, Guardians of the National Cemetery, Washington Crossing, PA, and a mentor in the Veteran’s Court, Bucks County PA.
Parades are still out of the question.
I have reasons and/or rationalizations for each.
My retirement has afforded me the opportunity to join and participate in various functions with these worthwhile organizations. I attend work parties, dedications, services for deceased Veterans, flag planting ceremonies (58,000 small flags), reunions, and seek to help fellow Veterans whenever possible. Giving back is great.
Now, about the tears……invariably, at some point during a ceremony, any ceremony, emotion gets the best of me and I begin to tear up. There’s no controlling this and the tears come rolling down my cheeks. No sobbing mind you…..just tears. It seems that as I age this is more of a constant then infrequent occurrence. It just happens.
Vietnam 67-68, the places Fox 2/9 visited offered more than a fair amount of horror and sadness. It’s hard to explain what one witnesses and endures as a rifleman in almost 13 months in the northern-most part of South Vietnam. Men formed friendships, then bonds…………..that sometimes were extinguished in seconds.
There was enough death, casualties, and fear to bring some to the breaking point; worse yet, the fear was contagious.
Violence always came so suddenly. Ambushes, snipers, incoming artillery, mortars, rocket propelled gernades, and fire fights left no time to mourn………..only time to react. Survival………only Survival, was the proper attitude and word.
After a fire fight, or an ‘incoming’ attack, work began setting or resetting perimeters, accounting for survivors, followed by the removal of wounded, then dead by chopper.
But, But, But, there was ALWAYS another patrol, another ambush, another listening post, incoming chopper, another squad meeting. There was never time to discuss losses, never time to mourn, never time for tears. Saddle up, we’re movin out!
I understood the need to ‘soldier on’, after all, this is WAR. And such is WAR.
And WAR is Hell.
So I begin to wonder…………about the Tears at Taps, at speeches, at ceremonies, at TV shows, at stories read, at stories told, at the nightmares of the past and the emotions held in check for so long.
Are these the tears that were never shed all those years ago?
Me thinks. Just sayin…………

tom f

Thank you Wheatietoo.
I have found that writing short stories about recollections can be healing.
Some stories are about the mundane (burning shitters), others may not be appropriate for this forum.
All are truth. There’s never been a need to exaggerate.
Former Senator, James Webb writes an excellent book (fiction, sure) about life in a grunt platoon.
He should know, having led a Marine Platoon in 1969.
‘Fields of Fire’
Snake is the man!
Matterhorn, by Karl Marlantes is also excellent. A true trip down memory lane.

NebraskaFilly

If I might add to the list of horrors in Vietnam…..as my brother (Navy, early ’70’s, PT boat on Saigon River) explained: the NV used children (just as Islamists do) bearing explosives in sampans, thereby forcing our soldiers to consciously and purposefully shoot children. That was the biggest scar he brought home with him. He rarely speaks of it.
Bless you for all you have done for our country and your active involvement now.

Sylvia Avery

I hate crying. I resist it. But tears are healing.
So every time they sneak up on you something inside is letting go of something you don’t need any more, and your hurts are healing. God bless you for your service.

Pat Frederick

thank you so much for your service tom!!
I can’t imagine what you must have gone thru.
I have never been in the service, but whenever we visit battlefields or forts (I am drawn to forts), I always cry, remembering the brave men and women who died there. (and i didn’t know any of them personally).
we are here for you…

Aubergine

God bless you for your service to our Nation.
I am glad you are able to shed your tears. Tears are fascinating things. Tears shed in grief are completely different from tears shed in joy, or anger. They are our body’s way of releasing the physical components of emotion. Under the microscope, tears are like snowflakes. Some life events require a snowstorm to survive.

Gil

Thank you for sharing about your service. Not sure if there was time for crying then, but you can certainly do it now without any shame.

Volgarian8301

Thank you for your service❤
Let those healing tears flow.
Vietnam Vets endured more, there and upon returning, than any human ever should.
Welcome back and thank you!

Absolutely Hilarious 😂😂😂
Watching OANN, showing beginning of State Dinner with Emperor and POTUS.
OANN announcer is quiet, listening in on Emperor speaking, hoping for a translation.
There is no translation as he speaks, but I have Close Captions turned on as it try’s to decipher what the Emperor is saying.
The weirdest statements are displaying on the screen, nothing makes sense.
But I had to come and share this one.
Zero you are gay. 🤣🤣🤣

Pat Frederick

OMG that’s so funnnnnnnny!

churchmouse

A YUGE THANK YOU to everyone at the Q Tree who prayed for a successful Brexit Party outcome in the EU elections! 🙂
Nigel’s party won 9 out of 10 British regions!
They have equal parity with Merkel’s party — 28 seats apiece.
This is further proof that prayer is powerful!
THANKS AGAIN for your support! 🙂

churchmouse

I’m not 100% sure if all the EU countries’ results are final, but I very much doubt there will be any substantial changes.
I stayed up until 3:30 a.m. to watch the BBC’s coverage, mostly about the UK but also around Europe. The last hour of coverage was largely about the Continent’s results.
UK results are certainly final, because each of the officials reading out their region’s results had to announce the number of votes for each party.
The Brexit Party is much younger than six months old. It is only SIX ***WEEKS*** OLD! 🙂
Amazing, isn’t it?
I’m delighted that you and others at the Q Tree are so happy about Nigel’s party’s success. Thank you very much, indeed. 🙂

Sylvia Avery

I am absolutely thrilled. To me, it says the people of the UK are still trying to fight back against global tyranny. That there are still some who haven’t knuckled under and that makes me insanely happy.

churchmouse

Thank you, Sylvia!
There are a lot of dissatisfied Leavers out there. I’m so glad they went out to vote last Thursday.

churchmouse

You bet!
It’s great seeing two or three Brexit Party MEPs per region. London got two, which surprised me:

I don’t know Ben Habib, but Lance Forman runs one of the best known smoked fish businesses in the UK. It is located in London:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._Forman_and_Son

JasonD

Could not be happier CM – well done on the awesome result!!!
I have “skin” in the game, since my daughter is in training in the UK for the next 2 years and will in all likelihood have a career as a professional ballet dancer there. My wife has just had her British Passport re-issued (her Dad was a Brit) ….
So I have been rooting for Nigel BIGLY – probably not as bigly as you though, I suspect 🙂

churchmouse

I bet we were both rooting equally BIGLY. This is YUGE!
I am positive that PDJT will find a way to meet with Nigel next week!
I am delighted for you, your daughter and your wife! May the good Lord continue to bless all of you abundantly, especially your daughter in her ballet career!
As my late mother often said, ‘Some things were meant to be’, referring to divine providence.
My very best wishes to you all!

JasonD

🙂 Thanks for the well wishes – much appreciated!

churchmouse

You’re welcome!

churchmouse

I am HAPPY TO SAY I AM WRONG! 🙂
Scotland, too, has elected a Brexit Party MEP! I hadn’t realised their result was incomplete:

SteveInCO

And it is just thrilling that the Brexit Party did so well!
Only six months old too!

This is one occasion where I am sure you’ll be happy to be corrected. The Brexit Party is six WEEKS old.

Sylvia Avery

Churchmouse, I am so glad! But I admit I’m baffled as to what the purpose of this election was and what it means going forward.

churchmouse

By EU law, we had to participate, because we did not leave the EU by the deadline.
Whether our MEPs end up going to Brussels is another thing.
The number of The Brexit Party’s MEPs, though, sends a resounding message to the Conservatives (lowest vote result since their inception in 1834).
The Conservatives will have to choose their new leader wisely, because this result could easily be replicated in a general election.
ONE CAVEAT: The number of Remain party votes (I include Labour in this, even though they are technically Brexit, but not really) is on a parity pretty much with The Brexit Party’s and the small percentage who voted Conservative.
Therefore, I expect Remainers to keep pushing for a second referendum. Labour MPs might well agree to one now. We’ll have to wait and see.

daughnworks247

The money shot.

Sylvia Avery

Oh, I hope to see more of that gown! What a fabulous photo!!!

litenmaus

I absolutely love the photo of our First Lady in the yellow gown Sylvia, but this white one looks like it might be just as lovely….I can’t wait to see what this white dress looks like from the front.

j4260T

It will be very interesting to see if First Lady continues with the floating cape look when they go to London for that State Dinner.

Pat Frederick

me too!

j4260T

Finally! First glimpse of the formal attire for the State Dinner with the Japanese Royals. I can’t believe there’s not more coverage….more petty, childish antics by the MSM, it seems.

daughnworks247

I am FUMING, no coverage at all.
Husband: What’s wrong with you?
Me: I fell asleep b/4 midnight, missed the damn presser, and now can’t see anything.
All the news is doing this morning is BBQ and reruns.
I want EU Results. I want Melania’s gown. I want NEWS!!

Sylvia Avery

Ha, daughn, we totally get it!!!

daughnworks247

I’m asking you to read this whole article.
Instead of Bolsonaro, his sons, and current situation fighting media/establishment in Brazil, substitute the name of Trump, his three eldest, and our USA media and establishment.
It’s uncanny.
It’s a globalist media playbook.
What Bloomberg does NOT tell you…… Sunday, almost 2 million people took to the streets in support of Bolsonaro.

They mean “Obama – the Abomination!”

Sylvia Avery

Wow, he was good!!!

Pat Frederick

i really like this dress! and FLOTUS looks lovely!!!

phoenixRising

Beautiful photo…
FLOTUS and Akie are gorgeous… love Akie’s gossamer like outfit… and Flotus’ gown
I think those two really like each other…
what a smile on POTUS’ face !

SteveInCO

I think that’s the Emperor and Empress, not Shinzo and Akie Abe.

ladypenquin

Absolutely gorgeous. Our MSM hate that POTUS is truly the Leader of the Free World, and receives respect and is honored by other leaders in the world. Not only POTUS, but his wife is honored as well.
Words can’t describe how we feel to see our Nation Restored, but it is happening Q-Treepers. ❤

thanks for sharing!

Sylvia Avery

These are just great!

Luke from NJ

Not sure anyone posted this yet, if so my apologies. This sums it up for me. But now we have a President who unabashedly loves our flag.

SteveInCO

That song (it’s really more of a poem) is an excellent contrast between the literal minded and the figurative minded.
Some guy notices the flag is frayed, and thinks, “they need to replace it” (and he’s technically correct, a tattered flag should be replaced), but makes the suggestion to someone who takes it figuratively and gives him a very good lecture on what the flag stands for.

Pat Frederick

wow…don’t know how to archive or keep this list somewhere (or if others have already done so) but man…Obama’s shortcomings on display for posterity…scandals, gaffes, and power grabs…
FTA:
Each item in this report includes a source as well as a link to a third-party news site containing more information.
And even as we tried to be as comprehensive as possible, the federal government is massive and it’s impossible to catch everything. If you’re aware of a scandal we missed, write us at tips@grabien.com (and include a link for a corresponding news account). We’ll continue updating this list in the days ahead.
Note: To sort by date, click the top of the date column. To sort by agency, click the top of the agency column.
I cannot post a sample, since the list is in spreadsheet format so that it can be sorted…but it’s endless!

Excerpt from article in realsauce’s post above:
“… Kobach explained the current wall ends abruptly and then there’s gap for about half a mile between the end of that wall and Mt. Cristo Rey in New Mexico. Mount Cristo Rey sits on the west side of El Paso. Kris said, “The gap is a half mile wide corridor and it’s literally a parking lot on the Mexican side and then you walk five steps and you are in the parking lot on the American side. There’s no barbed wire. There’s not ANY barrier. You just walk from one parking lot to the other.”
In the past, groups over a hundred in size on a typical evening would often come through this particular corridor. And while the border patrol is dealing with all the people down at the bottom of the gap in the flat area the cartels would be sending drugs up on the side of the mountain with no border control interference at all.
The “We Build the Wall” organization focused on this major gap in American security. They closed the gap that allowed the two illegal flows, the flow of illegal aliens at the bottom and the flow of drugs halfway up to the mountain.
Kris told us, “The Army Corp of Engineers said it was impossible to build the wall here. They looked at the incline that climbs 300 ft over the course of this half mile and they said it cant be built. We proved them wrong.”

——————————————
Wasn’t it RECENTLY MSM was saying Brian had scammed these people, had used the Build the Wall funds to buy a yacht… and WE BELIEVED THE SMEAR !
Thanks so much realsauce,
for finding this article and posting… it is GREAT NEWS ! Not only can private funds help in building the wall, out-of-the-box thinking can be used for problem situations. The GAP no longer exists. Why couldn’t the ACE figure out the solution?

Aubergine

I donated way back in the beginning. I will be donating again.

bakocarl

I take “The Army Corp of Engineers said it was impossible” statement with a big grain of salt. That’s about an 11% or 6.5 deg slope.

phoenixRising

But Carl,
A Gap was left…
One has to wonder why?
It’s my understanding that neither ACE or military is involved in actual construction of wall, ACE with supervision, etc., military with assisting CBP in a limited manner. Perhaps contractors told ACE they would not undertake building the Wall in that particular area for some reason???
A sneaky theory might be … it gave Build the Wall organization an opportunity to come in and participate ????
Recall reading after started the Fund that American citizens could not donate money to POTUS specifically for the Wall… that it would have to go directly to Treasury. Apparently that’s false info. It sure served to stall donations to the Fund, didn’t it?

bakocarl

Details are probably complex and convoluted and are unknown to me. So, I usually don’t go too deep with speculation. But, if I remember correctly, the first fund was to go to the gov’t but couldn’t because there was no apparent way to get the money to the gov’t wall builders. Then the funds were transferred to a second fund where the funds would go directly to builders who would make and install the wall.

Blessed2bLoved

I have been a somewhat silent lurker here from the start of this wonderful QTreehouse that our dear Sir Wolfmoon established for us coming from “over there” and I thank God for all that are here and make it the only place to be! Anyway, I have lived in El Paso all my life and I see how the immigration crisis has only gotten worse here. I am so blessed to know that God gave the We Build The Wall organization the wisdom to start with that corridor which has been wide open for anyone to just walk through for so long. There were many locals here who had stopped making the trek up Mount Cristo Rey because they found themselves being confronted and robbed by the illegal immigrants when they were making their way down to their vehicles in the parking lot. I remember when it was reported on the local news that the US Army Corp of Engineers stated it was impossible to build a wall there because of the mountainous landscape. Well low and behold, they were proven wrong! Funny that so far I haven’t heard much about this on our local news, but because that is such a HUGE accomplishment, I believe they will have to acknowledge it sooner or later. The immigrant apprehensions here are at an all time high and it is at a crisis level. The result of that is now the lines of cars, trucks, and pedestrians waiting to cross over is taking several hours…a 4 hour wait is not unusual. The democrats have had a tight hold on El Paso due to having so many illegal immigrants here. I can’t t even begin to count the number of cars on residential streets, in parking lots, dropping kids off at school, etc…with license plates from Cuidad Juarez Chihuahua Mexico, not to mention the number of people who live here and do not speak English. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Suffice it to say President Trump is a gift from God and he is prayed for daily.

Sylvia Avery

It is so terrific to get local anecdotes about what is really going on. I really appreciate your speaking up and telling us! I hope you post more often.

The MSM must be going crazy realizing that President Donald J Trump received the highest honor the new Emperor of Japan could offer – Japan – where Honor is everything, invited POTUS to be the first foreign leader to meet the Emperor.
Anyone know if Obama ever met with the previous Emperor?

bflyjesusgrl

Going through the meet n greet line today, only the Japanese were bowing. POTUS and FLOTUS DID NOT BOW!! 👏👏😍😍

ladypenquin

Thanks. The bow I remembered most was the one to the King of Saudi Arabia. Of course, the MSM tried to cover for him, but the video didn’t lie. Obama bowed – breaking protocol for U.S. presidents.

NebraskaFilly

Um….did you read the article (from March of last year)?
“From the very beginning, the Communist Party seems to have understood that Trump’s threats were, for the most part, merely for show. By refusing to be rattled, China has enjoyed a series of rhetorical and strategic triumphs that have enhanced its global image and increased its international influence. China also appears to have assessed that Trump, the self-proclaimed master deal maker, would rather have a bad deal than no deal at all, and could be persuaded to compromise on almost anything in order to declare a “win.”
“Yet China won warm praise from Trump, who professed his “very deep respect” for the country and the “noble traditions of its people.” During an unprecedented “state visit–plus,” as China’s foreign ministry put it, which included a 21-gun salute, a military parade, and a dinner in the Forbidden City, Trump stunned observers by saying he no longer faulted China for its trade policies.
“I don’t blame China,” he said during a joint appearance with President Xi Jinping, adding that he gives the country “great credit” for taking advantage of the U.S. on trade.
Such remarks support the view of Shen Dingli, a professor of international relations at Fudan University. Trump, he told me, is “an especially easy president for China to handle.”
“We are lucky,” he added.
Beijing seems to have concluded that the former casino mogul, like a high-rolling gambler, can be made to keep playing the house by showering him with VIP perks.
On the diplomatic front, China’s tactic of acting as a foil to Trump has already paid off handsomely. From Europe to Africa to Latin America, China is enjoying more prestige and respect than it has in years. While Barack Obama vexed Beijing with his idealism, “pivot to Asia,” and China-excluding Trans-Pacific Partnership—a massive trade pact that would have fused the major economies of Asia with the United States—Trump has emphatically reversed course, tearing up the TPP and driving allies to consider China-backed plans instead.”

NebraskaFilly

I can’t say I would want to be spreading that one around…..
