Sharpening Our Discerning Sunday
The beauty of our design is that we are created to maximize our effectiveness in the context of meaningful relationships. This is especially important to remember in the community of faith. And in the community of Patriots.
In the hurricane of this communications battle we find ourselves in today, we need all of us working together in order to accurately discern what is important and map out strategies for getting to where we are going.
In the passage above, quoted from Luke 9, the Samaritans thought Jesus was their enemy because he seemed to be heading to Jerusalem. The disciples thought the Samaritans were their enemy because they rejected them. Neither were discerning what was afoot.
Being good students of the Torah, the disciples were ready to reenact an old testament prophet’s great moment of fame. Calling FIRE down on these filthy Samaritans!
Jesus has to rebuke his men. While I might not be able from the text to give a specific name to the spirit they were being deceived by, I’m pretty confident that we are dealing with the same spirit in spades right now. And we had better do both a head check and a heart check so that the Lord does not have rebuke us.
Discernment. We don’t have much of it. Those who are isolated from community are in the greatest danger of having our malicious enemy twist their perceptions of reality.
We MUST work together to grow the best possible perceptions of reality.
Why do you think free speech is under attack? Could it be that the open marketplace of ideas is an existential threat to those throwing up smoke and mirrors around their work of dismantling all that we hold near and dear. I think it is.
A newer term for what Wolf’s Q Treehouse operates in every day is “crowd-sourcing.” That is to say, a group of people with a common interest all contribute their viewpoint, observations, even work-products to build something bigger than themselves.
Each person has the potential to make a unique contribution to our emerging understanding.
This undoubtably poses a threat to those who want us in a fog of war. We can expect to see various “spirits” rise up and attempt to throw sand in the machinery. A spirit of offense here, a spirit of division there. Maybe even some deceiving spirits distracting our focus in the middle of a discussion that is about to unlock wisdom we truly need for this next season.
This calls for more discernment. May I suggest for those of us that walk with Jesus to ask him for a discerning heart and a willing mind to see with his eyes and think his thoughts about the world we find ourselves in?

Great post, and I have another one coming which fits right into it. Actually several, because not only is the post on SEEDED DISINFORMATION important, but another post on FAKE SCIENCE is important, too.
American science is corrupt and controlled. Those who are within it have no discernment. I agree – crowd-sourced science, like crowd-sourced news, is a THREAT to that.
Honestly, my science background is proving most helpful in finding the TRUTH somewhere between controlled science and the popular wisdom outside of science. (This being much like that biblical lesson you just gave – the TRUTH can be a complex thing.)
But I am also finding that we simply need to share scientific knowledge in general.
So I need to put up ANOTHER post about something else now.
“Muriatic acid”.
Excellent! The first deception is thinking that the obstruction of science is due to stupid people. No. The obstruction is on purpose.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but anyone throwing a milkshake on someone else fully deserves to be thoroughly perforated. It could be acid, concrete, or anthrax. Throwing a random liquid on someone fully earns a fatal response — and “it’s only a milkshake” is utter BS for justification.
Antifa used quick drying cement in their “milkshakes” today that can cause very bad burns on skin due to the high acid content. Antifa are all terrorists, IMO.
Muriatic acid is HCl, and is commonly used for pool cleaners. It’s nasty stuff, but so are Sulfuric (car batteries) and Nitric acids……and Hydrofluoric Acid is just a nightmare — its atoms are so small, they probably won’t burn your skin as they pass through…..but it’ll attack the calcium in your bones…..

Accordingly, every theater had a bucket of sand next to the projector — if a film jammed and ignited, the sand could be thrown into the projector works and the projectionist’s next several hours could be spent cleaning it out. Sand can just barely quench a guncotton fire — you’ll have to read Derek Lowe’s take about when it won’t.

IMO, absolutely there needs to be a law against covering your face when protesting. Such cowards…if they feel so strongly about whatever it is they are resisting then stop hiding your identity. To me, it’s a no brainer and violators should immediately be arrested, photographed, fingerprinted and a very, very large bail set. Yep, I was kind of holding my breath, because he was going alone. And considering that he’s a target of just about every PTB on the planet, the potential danger of being exposed that way has to be in the back of your mind.
If anything had happened on the NK side, there would have been an immediate fight, but nobody could have come to DJT’s defense fast enough to matter.
And nobody knew that better than DJT (and his security team).
And he did it without hesitation.
It may seem like a simple thing, and in a sense it was, but someone had to have the courage to do it. Someone had to take the chance, to lay it on the line.
And DJT did it, for peace.

No way of knowing of course, but DJT certainly understood the dynamic Xi was trying to create, and it’s entirely possible that DJT instructed Kim to exclude Moon, thereby completely severing/removing Xi’s influence or any leverage Xi was trying to create through manipulation of Moon.
Xi’s ploy is exactly the kind of thing DJT would see from a mile away and diffuse with ease.
And by having Kim exclude Moon, DJT remains ‘above the fray’, so to speak. Between Kim and DJT, the only one who would be criticized for excluding Moon would be President Trump… nobody is going to criticize Kim for excluding Moon, because nobody wants to say or do anything that would endanger prospects for peace.
So Kim could exclude Moon without any political backlash, and by excluding Xi’s proxy (Moon), in effect, Xi himself was excluded.
The whole world now sees that DJT can meet and talk with Kim directly whenever he wants, no need for Xi to be a mediator.
And since Xi is not needed, Xi can no longer use his relationship with Kim as leverage to negotiate with DJT… on anything.
The whole thing was extraordinary!

hubby and I volunteered with WA State Parks as campground hosts back in 2008-09. When we saw cars with “green” or “love mother earth” type stickers we soon learned the sites occupied by those campers would be the messiest. One site stank so bad ‘cuz they just couldn’t make it to privy and had pooped behind every sword fern plant surrounding their site. Litter and food garbage every where or they would pick berries and flowers and leave them to rot. BTW picking flowers is state parks, especially the trillium (it was their fav to pick too) is against RCW.

It was pointed out last night as President Trump was sitting with Kim Jong-un in South Korea several alternating NoKo and U.S. flags were arranged behind them on the stage. Not a single South Korean flag was in sight.
I found that fact very interesting. I don’t think the South Koreans care much for North Korea.

Months ago when POTUS first suggested reunification (forgive my inability to restate correctly, dementia is gaining on my poor ol’ brain), people from South and North Korea came to the zone, families hoping to reunite after decades of no contact. Korea has been divided for most of my life… I heard Truman announce the ‘Police Action’ on the radio as a youngun’ – my uncle brought back a simple zen-like painting to my maternal grandmother, which I later received and framed… it hangs in my bedroom as a sign of hope for reunification in my lifetime.
Perhaps South Koreans are anxious because of the poverty of the North Koreans. I’m reminded of the reunification of Germany… same apprehension.
