Something different AND GREAT news for the Second Amendment.
Some, perhaps many will take issue with this. Hope not. However, it’s the law. AND, IMO, the Second Amendment “shall not be infringed” is paramount.

Note. Build parties used to be relatively easy to find. Then ATF started cracking down on them with BIG BROTHER tactics and threats. Build parties mostly disappeared. Looks like ATF screwed up, again. Build parties will probably be reappearing as this word gets out.

One thing to keep in mind is that John Moses Browning (PBUH) INVENTED, and fabricated the first instance of about 3/4 of modern weaponry in his home shop in Ogden, Utah. The very first 1911 pistol in existence was pretty much made in someone’s garage. He used to test fire them down a hallway in his basement.
And that’s true for all of his designs — Browning didn’t have some magic multi-million-dollar factory for his stuff. He designed it on paper in his shop and built the prototypes there with his home equipment.
The concept that government can magically disappear entire classes of weaponry through wishful thinking is entirely garbage — it was all originally invented in someone’s garage, and if someone else knows anything about the design and can get ammo for it, it can be fabricated in their garage to work just as well.
The only way to proceed down that track is to eliminate any skill in machining in the US and dumb-down the populace to the point that they cannot read a blueprint…….but that kills your ability to manufacture anything and condemns you to a life of baristas and gender-studies master’s degrees.
This is the way a good many revolutionary inventions came to be.
Question, as I don’t come from a firearms family, is the industry self regulating to any extent, as in are there quality control checks in place to keep the government out? A handful of industries do have them, and I’m curious about this one.
Nor do I come from a firearms family. Parents did not have guns. Father was in WWII. Three brothers and sisters don’t have guns. Ardent lefties…hate guns. (<<<CA does that to otherwise well meaning folks.) Me, the outcast, black sheep. Perfectly good with it. The beauty of "free will" independent thinking.
Back to the question regarding quality control. Not well versed in all of that. There are MILSPEC (military specifications) and commercial specifications.

IMO, Some commercial specifications better than MILSPEC, or less so. Notably, military snipers use commercial weapons.
Fundamentally I buy name brands such as Glock, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Mossberg… Whatever specs they are using, I am good with. Blind faith. I think not. They'd be out of business if their weapons failed through poor workmanship, failing parts, wear out quickly…
IF I am doing an AR build, my starting point is an 80% lower which is 7075 aluminum. Then buy MILSPEC parts. Followed by assembly. Desert plinking and the thrill of owning a "ghost weapon". That is, IF I did this;-)

AR15s do have a lower received that meets the federal definition of a firearm, and when you buy one it is stamped with a serial number and you go through the same process you go through when you acquire a firearm.
Moreover, the palaver in the story about assembling an AR15 from parts reflects a stunning lack of understanding about interchangeable parts. The fact that guns may be assembled from interchangeable parts was a major technological breakthrough, engendered in the US by the Springfield Armory in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The creation of interchangeable parts made a massive contribution in agriculture, accelerating the replacement of muscle power (both man and beast) with machines. It also greatly accelerated the industrial revolution worldwide, enabling a myriad of machines and tools we rely upon to become far more efficient in our daily lives. Without the machines and tools enabled by interchangeable parts, we would literally spend the majority of our lives on the production, acquisition and storage of the food we need to stay alive.
Assembling any tool from parts is a great benefit, because a user of the tool obtains the ability to disassemble the tool, replace the part, and put the tool back in service. Needless to say, on a battlefield the ability to repair weapons can make a huge difference — just compare the ability of US sailors to repair warships at sea to the inability of the Japanese to do so during WWII.
The problem in this case arises from the creation of partially finished lower receivers, which were designed, built and sold specifically to avoid federal firearms transfer laws. I don’t have a problem with people making these for their own use, and this is a close call. But my view is that the only reason to sell a partially finished lower, and then point the buyer to a set of instructions on how to turn the unfinished part into a firearm, is to avoid firearms laws. The defendant in this case asked ATF if he could do this, and was told he could. I think that ruling was a mistake, but having obtained the requisite approval from the highest authority in the land on this issue, what he did was not illegal. The government’s redress in this situation is to revoke the ruling and make him stop prospectively. To retroactively seek to characterize his activities as illegal is wrong.
The fact that a reporter who could not change a flat tire on his own car is appalled at something says more about the individual than it does about the issue at hand.

Yes, a finished lower by a manufacture has a serial number, and the Feds treat is as a weapon.

I go to the Teams button. It opens up the last team I had open. On the top left I click the back arrow. This takes me to the main teams page. From there I have the option to create a team or join a team.

First things first – who runs keybase? Who works for keybase? Gab is vouched for by their array of haters and enemies. Keybase – not so sure. I got an account with keybase for the purposes of “verification”, but frankly I don’t even trust them to hold my keys in secret. Maybe that is excessively distrustful, but I’ve spent my entire life being lured into trouble both IRL and online. Greater care, generally excessive in the eyes of my fellow humans, has proven useful. EXTREMELY useful.

There are different levels of “secure” and “private” – but on ANY free/public service one should not assume are 100% truly secure or private. Heck, any 3rd party/paid service that’s true too – especially the public phone network.
Once you start with the base assumption (that all Internet Protocol packets are interceptable, readable, and unreliable) you build whatever you need on top of that.
From my perspective, is it “secure enough” or “private enough” for minor needs. Like using Facebook Messenger to exchange party-to-party phone numbers or street addresses – low grade PII. PII is a risk but a low risk. Things that doxxers are desperate for but that Three Letter Agencies already have and don’t need. If the concern is thwarting the C-level and (most) B-level Threat Actors, basic privacy protections are adequate. You just need to raise the exploit skill level to a threshold which is greater than their capabilities. Two-factor auth, for example.
If the concern is A-level nation-state actors, well, you’re going to need MUCH better tools! 99% confident you must stop using public IP altogether unless you have a dang well bulletproof tunnel, err, make that tunnelS. Even with a strong crytpo policy I wouldn’t put the capabilities of cracking those tunnels outside the realm of the A-actors – it would cost real money, but 100% doable.
Much depends on how you use your tools, and knowing how to use the tool…

The bacterial species namely Exiguobacterium sibiricum strain DR11 and Exiguobacterium undae strain DR14 were isolated from the wetlands adjoining the university. Polystyrene is quite resistant to degradation due to its high molecular weight and long chain polymer structure. This is the reason for their persistence in the environment, according to the study published in the journal Royal Society of Chemistry Advances.
The exponential production and consumption of polystyrene in various sectors has presented a great environment risk and raised the problem of waste management, the researchers noted.
“Our data support the fact that strains of extremophile bacterium Exiguobacterium are capable of degrading polystyrene and can be further used to mitigate the environmental pollution caused by plastics,” Richa Priyadarshini, Associate Professor at Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida, told PTI.
“Wetlands are one of the richest habitats of microbial diversity but are relatively unexplored. Hence, these ecosystems are ideal grounds for isolating bacteria with novel biotechnological applications,” said Priyadarshini who discovered the bacteria strains along with her team at the Department of Life Sciences, School of Natural Sciences.

Dear QTreeper Prayer Warriors and Patriots – I am Standing in the need of Prayer for wisdom, peace, protection, etc.
Difficult family history and dynamics and a funeral today of my from whom I was estranged, separated due to plots/schemes, etc. of son and cousin regarding property in my mother’s estate where sister and son had lived rent free, just for maintaining property and paying taxes.
They schemed to put my mother’s estate up for auction for taxes due without telling me, to cause me to lose my share. Somehow, someone at my hometown court house sent me the bill/notice of lien. Had never received a bill before. The son and cousin don’t know that I know about the scheme. I pretended ignorance and paid the 2 years of due taxes and sent a note with admonition about avoiding loss of property, etc.
Because son sold his house, moved back home, and took loving care of mother for 5 years, I’m quitclaiming my share in the property to him. I refused to do so earlier, because I wanted my sister’s assets to go for her care after she was diagnosed with Alzheimers. I did not want him to own everything and put her in a Medicaid nursing home.
From teens to nearly 40 years old, he had been irresponsible and she was having to help him with money, signing for car insurance, due to his DUIs, etc. He has proved to be more mature and responsible now, showing a different mindset in his devotion and care for his mother.
I’m just hoping the scheming next door cousin doesn’t finagle him out of his inheritance. Just hoping he’s not a secret alcoholic (which runs in our family – my mother and daddy were functional alcoholics/smokers).

The cousin was involved in other schemes against me and her siblings through the years. Sometimes she does good things, but then turns it into a way to advance her own goals, wants, increase of power and wealth.

I’ve about decided not to go since the papers, legal work, etc. needs to be signed on Monday. What if I was in a wreck, traveling 2 hours there or back? (Also my own affairs, DPOA, bank co-signature, etc. really need to be renewed/updated asap!)
Because I still was not sure about going, I sent a package certified mail yesterday to arrive on Tuesday, with a note and a valuable jewelry item from his parents when he was born (my ob-gyn former husband delivered my nephew), some books and a check for probate expenses of both his mother’s and grandmother’s estates.
I think that is my answer. I will go to a local chapel to pray during the funeral and fast today – for our family, her son and my own soul and continue to supply wisdom (but no more $$$ due to disabled daughter’s care and medical expenses) to my nephew in the coming years – if he keeps up the relationship. My lawyer daughter can also give him advice.

Your story is confusing to me, especially since your daughter is an attorney.
Is there a will? If so, has a probate been opened? Either way, is there an estate admin yet? Most states say that all claims must be made through the estate rep so it appears that the lien is invalid IF the real property is in the deceased’s name.
And why in the world did the property not get placed into an irrevocable trust with life occupancy rights? That is a rhetorical question, not intended to actually ask attorney daughter.
No matter what, most non-lawyer knowledge of probate law comes from experiencing disaster property dispositions. Live and learn. Most people who own property should have it in a trust so that personal claims against them come up dry because the trust owns the assets.
Prayer provides strength in dark situations. By being saved, you already know that you are stronger than the unsaved. Enhance that knowledge with prayer. Be ready to be surprised at how strong you are. Even Christ prayed for strength in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Explanation: We never closed the Estate. After my mother died, I helped my sister clean out, paint the house, and had intended to quitclaim my share to my sister, but did not due to my reticence about my sister’s wisdom concerning her son whom I felt she had been enabling. Lawyers and accountants advised me not to do so because of her son. They wanted to remodel and add a porch, but could not afford it on their salaries or by an equity loan on the property. My lawyer daughter warned me that they would probably lose the house. My nephew had made unwise irresponsible choices in teens and early adulthood, flunking out of college, entering the gay lifestyle, drinking, DUIs, etc.
All this came between my sister and me. She made excuses for him because of his parents divorce, his father’s rejection, etc.
When she became ill, it was I who took her to doctors, clinics, got her on disability, social security. She deeded her other property over to him, in order to give him some responsibility. He finally did in the end, come home and look after her for 5 years until she died of Alzheimer’s.
‘The Estate’ being my mother’s estate of which my sister and I were co-executors.

I have been estranged from a portion of my family after my father passed–and it’s been years since we spoke. when my brother-in-law passed, I definitely didn’t want to face them, but my nephew asked me to deliver the eulogy (I did the eulogy for my sister when she passed years prior.)
so I went, held my head high and spoke about my brother-in-law. I focused on my nephew and my husband and son. After the cemetery, we left. I did it for my nephew and my sister’s memory.
But whatever decision you make, know that it has to be the right one FOR YOU.

Wictor explains the difference between

If you happen to have some surplus high explosive material to dispose of, this is probably how you would want to get rid of it, to reduce damage to your disposal site.
If the explosion shown results from deflagration of the explosive originally in the enemy vehicle (i.e. in the targetted truck) then the fact that the explosion is, in Wictor’s terminology, – FLAT -, results, presumably, from the flames of the deflagration being constrained to pour out horizontally by the shape of the container the truck bomb was originally contained in. (I.e. The truck bomb conceivably could have featured heavy, flat steel plates above and below the explosive, to focus the blast and shrapnel horizontally, so as to maximize damage to people and things on the ground around the truck.)
Though his wording might be slightly ambiguous, and I can’t by myself tell from the still frame, I don’t think the scenario above is what Wictor means. A small missile that could make enemy bombs burn up without detonating would be useful, but I don’t think it would be considered “massively advanced”.
What I think Wictor means is that the tiny missile strikes the target and itself explodes horizontally (i.e. not wasting its blast going up into the air, or down into the ground, but using almost all of its supersonic hot gas to destroy objects or people around it on the ground.)
This is where “massively advanced” technology comes in, now packed into a weapon that can only be used by a highly trained professional.
A high explosive detonation, at it simplest, releases hot gas in all directions, more or less equally, resulting in a blast that is more or less spherical.
To make a bomb (such as a missile warhead) that expends most of its blast in just some directions, rather than evenly all around, in an spherical pattern, requires the use of a type of military technology which is a direct (and, in this case, possibly remote) descendant of civilian technology that originally appeared in the oil patch for FRACKING production wells. This is the SHAPED CHARGE technology.
Wells that are drilled to produce crude oil and/or natural gas sometimes enter the reservoir rock (the porous rock that actually contains the desired hydrocarbons) at a place where that rock is too “tight”, or resistant to fluid flow, for the hydrocarbons to move into the well shaft fast enough for the company operating the well to make money quickly enough for the well to be profitable.
In cases like this, the company is usually willing to send good money after bad to remedy the situation. What is wanted is a BOMB that is small enough to be lowered a long distance VERTICALLY down the narrow well bore, then detonated on command, focusing all its supersonic hot gas in a single direction, HORIZONTALLY. This is to poke a hole in (“perforate”, or “PERF”, is the term of art) the rock so that the beloved fluids will be able to flow freely through the new hole into the well. Repeat as needed.
Beginning in the first half of the 20th century, this was a very important early way of “fracturing”, or FRACKING, reservoir rock, and a progenitor to the high-tech late-20th/early 21st-century fracking industry of today.
The first military use of shaped charge technology from the oil patch was to produce HEAT (High Explosive, Anti-Tank) rounds used to penetrate the steel shell of enemy armored vehicles.
These were projectiles fired from a cannon, (usually mounted on a tank, or as a self-propelled gun,) and contained high explosive that detonated on impact with the target so as to drive a heavy, pointed penetrating device, made out of hard metal, through the armor, together with hot gas and molten metal drops formed from parts of the projectile that had melted from the heat of detonation. HEAT rounds made their debut with the American forces, iirc, in WWII.
Note the similarity of goals and constraints in the two cases. Something very strong and hard (bedrock in the ground, armor plate) is in the way, and to pierce it we must use something very small (perf charge, artillery projectile) in the field in order that we can move an otherwise inaccessible fluid (crude oil, Panzer crew’s blood,) somewhere else, quickly.
The small size of the possible tool, and extreme amount of force that must be applied, together dictate that the tool designer be economical in the use of the gas and energy available, by focusing as much as possible in a single direction.
If the high explosive material, or CHARGE, in a bomb is SHAPED like a pancake, and detonated evenly, it will release most of it energy in just two directions, namely, at right angles to the two sides of the pancake.
Otoh, if it is SHAPED like a circular unsharpened pencil, that is, like a long, thin, featureless cylinder, and detonated evenly, it will release most of its energy in 360 degrees around the waist of the cylinder, avoiding the two directions pointed at, respectively, by the two ends of the cylinder. So, a circular explosion, roughly, rather than a spherical. Think of a bomb like the axel on a bicycle wheel, but longer. Most of the blast will be outward in the directions pointed to by the spokes of the wheel.
Though it is not apparent to my inexpert eyes which of these two shapes were used in this case (assuming the flames and smoke in the picture are mostly due to the missile warhead itself, rather than to the deflagration of the truck bomb, or the burning of regular diesel or gasoline from the truck’s fuel tank,) I am reading into Wictor’s use of the word FLAT to mean that it was the 360 degree case, with this circular blast parallel to the ground. This would imply that the high explosive in the warhead was shaped like a pencil, oriented vertically at the instant of detonation.
The projectile flies from Point A, the launcher, to Point B, the targeted enemy truck. The trajectory is either approximately straight, or approximately parabolic, (like a baseball thrown a long distance,) or up and down along a very high parabola, like a pop fly. Yet, somehow, at the moment it arrives at the target, a blast is instantly produced that is automatically arranged so as to be parallel to the ground.
If this analysis is correct, the “massively advanced” nature of this weapon lies in the technology used to produce this neat trick.

Anyone who’s struggled with fear and anxiety understands the difficulty of overcoming these emotions. Gideon was a man who experienced great apprehension because he lived when Israel was being oppressed by the Midianites as a result of their rebellion against God.
Conditions had become so desperate that Gideon was threshing grain in a wine press so the enemy wouldn’t think to steal it. It was at this low point in his life that the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and told him to deliver Israel from the Midianites. Imagine his stress! He didn’t see himself as a great warrior and felt totally inadequate for the task.
Gideon’s problem was his focus. Despite being reassured that God was with him, Gideon observed the situation through human eyes and concluded that the Lord had abandoned Israel. Then he looked at himself from that same perspective and listed all the reasons why he was not the one to deliver Israel. But the Lord again responded by saying, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat Midian as one man” (Judg. 6:16).
Like Gideon, we too are prone to focus on our own weakness and inability rather than count on what we know to be true about the Lord. We can think of a thousand things to worry about instead of remembering God’s past faithfulness and the certainty of His future promises.
Persevering through anxiety is easier when we know God intimately, believe His Word, and trust Him explicitly. In the process, we’ll discover that our anxiety is outweighed by His peace.

In Mueller, it was both predicate AND justification for ITS SELF…that simply cannot BE. Nunes KNOWS, he saw Obama’s PDB. when the smears didn’t work, and Trump did not drop out, and the foreing spying did not produce the desired results, Comey was sent to BLACKMAIL Trump with the dossier MULTIPLE times. Each time, Trump said NO, and there were “consequences” Buzzfeed release to the public, Flynn set up, Sessions recusal.
Trump retaliated by firing Yates, Comey, and his tweet revealing the surveillance. Then the Cabal switched tactics.
The foreing spying ALL began before Crossfire Hurricane, which was meant to retroactively justify ALL the previous spying and spies, ESPECIALLY the dossier. That is why Page the plant was put in, they needed a ringer that actually had contacts with Russia, all the others did NOT and were setups, including Cohen, Papadopolous, Manafort, and Flynn.
When Page was outed, and Nunes saw the PDB, they switched tactics, and using the dossier AGAIN, went after the original spied on people, Manafort, Flynn, Cohen, and Papadopolous to try and get an obstruction case and use it as a roadmap to impeachment, the SAME shit they are trying NOW with the bogus whistle blower.
Nunes blew up the mueller report, by releasing his memo that DIRECTLY points to the dossier AS THE SOURCE FOR IT ALL. Schiff panicked, and countered with Papadopolous, forgretting in his haste and fear, that Papa was BEFORE Crossfire and Page.
That gives up the ghost. Trump is attacking EACH pillar of the Cabal operation. First the Manafort Ukraine Black Ledger setup, that reveals ALL the prior spying setups initiated BEFORE Trump was even the nominee.
Flynn is counter attacking HIS set up with Sydney Powell. Soon Papadopolous will BE BACK as will Mifsud, Halper, and all the rest. The timeline is the problem, and it will all BEGIN and point back to the dossier.

“The child is intubated, and the child is sedated. We hope and we pray that God’s watching over him, and he’ll be OK and that nothing like this happens to anyone,” Portnoy said.”

You’re welcome. Louisiana became intriguing in recent weeks because it’s the first races happening after the Ukraine Hoax got started. POTUS’ rally obviously was a big help – what the President Trump does is help harness and direct all the good energy of our people, and focus our anger into getting out to vote the bums out. POTUS is going to keep the folks tapped into 2020 and every election in between – staying entirely engaged, instead of just the few months before the election.
