I hope, above all things, that what we are about to witness in the coming months is justice . . . applied fairly and impartially to those who have broken the law by their actions. No quarter given, especially to the more senior perpetrators and schemers who made an organized effort to frame, smear and then impeach the President.

I am struggling to think of a single instance where President Trump hasn’t delivered well beyond our wildest expectations and I’m coming up short. Even with “the wall” and illegal immigration he has succeeded far beyond what my early cynicism would have believed possible.
Trump has made it ok to believe in the impossible with the exception that Epstein killed himself.

I would think the founding fathers that gathered in Philadelphia in 1789 to discuss the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union that had been in force since 1777 would do the same thing they did then — sweep out the rubbish and start afresh.
Mind you, they would keenly analyze the faults of the previous system and built up on its strengths while mitigating them. But the 1789 Constitution may have run its course. And, BTW, they predicted this in Article V.
Probably the biggest issue they’d need to address is the “or what?” problem. For instance, the Second Amendment states, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” That’s nice and all, but there’s that question, “……or what?” What happens to attempted infringements? What happens to each of the branches that attempts to infringe? In the age of dueling, you might leave that “or what?” hanging…..but it would be useful today.
Or take the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” “…..or what?” What happens if Congress delegates quasi-legislative powers to an executive administrative body (like the FCC)? Might they remove the stain from their paws by pushing it down a level, or into another branch? What if our Lords in Black Robes decide to prohibit the free exercise of religion by making it “intolerant” to do so? Is that ok because they’re not Congress? And if Congress does pass such a law, do they suffer no detriment, even if the Executive shall pass on enforcing it and the Judiciary rule it out-of-bounds? Shouldn’t every Supreme Court decision that rules a law unconstitutional also declare that Congress to be “rogue”, bar any of its members from further government employ, overturn everything during its cursed existence, and strike every name from it from all public monuments?
In times past, someone might be declared “outlaw” if their behavior continuously violated laws — shooting one dead in the street had the same legal penalty as shooting a squirrel. Contracts with an outlaw were void from the outset. They were cast out from society. Deeds to their lands were void. In the eyes of the law, they were vermin.
How many of the politely-worded aspects of the Constitution should be guarded by declaring infringement to render someone outlaw?
And, what about the Ninth Amendment? “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.” Or what?
Our Founding Fathers recognized the face of tyranny, and politely recommended against it over-and-over-and-over again in our Constitution…..but left us to wave handkerchiefs at it when it inevitably happened.
If the Second Amendment read, “Upon due consideration, we duly find that a citizenry more powerful than its government will securely maintain the freedom of that state. Accordingly, any governmental efforts to infringe upon the right of citizens to keep and bear arms shall be void — and every person pursuing such infringement shall be treated as a rabid dog on the street, regardless of position or rank.” It’s actually pretty much the same as the polite version (mind you, the Founding Fathers had just fought the British Army and Navy using guns [including cannons!!!] they had in farmhouses), but we could have saved so much pussyfooting and angst.

It probably helps to remember that one of our greatest Presidents, IMHO, was Andrew Jackson…..who participated in at least three documented duels. In 1806, he killed Charles Dickinson, an experienced duellist who shot first and left a bullet in Jackson too close to his heart to remove before Jackson’s death in 1845. For the record, that’s 39 years of “ouch, but you’re buried.”
And now for my usual Jackson thing, the last four paragraphs of the bank veto speech:
“It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes. Distinctions in society will always exist under every just government. Equality of talents, of education, or of wealth can not be produced by human institutions. Many of our rich men have not been content with equal protection and equal benefits, but have besought us to make them richer by act of Congress. By attempting to gratify their desires we have in the results of our legislation arrayed section against section, interest against interest, and man against man, in a fearful commotion which threatens to shake the foundations of our Union. It is time to pause in our career to review our principles, and if possible revive that devoted patriotism and spirit of compromise which distinguished the sages of the Revolution and the fathers of our Union. If we can not at once, in justice to interests vested under improvident legislation, make our Government what it ought to be, we can at least take a stand against all new grants of monopolies and exclusive privileges, against any prostitution of our Government to the advancement of the few at the expense of the many, and in favor of compromise and gradual reform in our code of laws and system of political economy.
I have now done my duty to my country. If sustained by my fellow-citizens, I shall be grateful and happy; if not, I shall find in the motives which impel me ample grounds for contentment and peace. In the difficulties which surround us and the dangers which threaten our institutions there is cause for neither dismay nor alarm. For relief and deliverance let us firmly rely on that kind Providence which I am sure watches with peculiar care over the destinies of our Republic, and on the intelligence and wisdom of our countrymen. What was pretty obvious as the day went on is that Rudy Giuliani is a target. For some reason, his presence in the Trump Administration apparatus, regardless of who he is really working for, has the deep state operatives spooked. His name came up over and over and over again without any prompting.
People who dismiss the hearings yesterday as useless weren’t listening to them. The two guys who answered questions yesterday are the front men sent out to cover for people who are terrified of what Rudy Giuliani can do to them. Before yesterday, how many people knew Giuliani was in play in this fiasco?
That’s what I’m curious about.

Federal agents found six Chinese citizens hidden inside a moving van, behind a false wall, when the truck was stopped at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, authorities said Saturday.
The 23-year-old driver, a United States citizen, was taken into custody, Customs and Border Protection officials said in a statement. The six Chinese nationals also were held pending criminal and immigration proceedings.
The moving truck came across the border from Mexico about noon on Thursday. A customs officer who was inspecting vehicles as they waited in line noticed the truck’s rear door was ajar. A dog used in inspections reacted to the back wall of the truck, authorities said.
Officers used a screwdriver to pry open the wall and found a person behind it. The driver was taken out of the truck and detained while officers drove the vehicle to a secure location. They removed the false wall and found the six people who were being smuggled, officials said.
“We routinely encounter persons from all over the world attempting to enter our country illegally,” Pete Flores, Customs and Border Protection director of field operations for San Diego, said in a statement. “This incident serves as another example of the inhumane tactics smugglers will utilize in order to circumvent our laws. Actually, San Marco is not the cathedral. That church is farther in. Remember, Venice is a patriarchy. It has its own rite even if several popes in the last 100 years were elevated from there.

my granddaughter is 10 and laments that all her friends have phones–my daughter was resisting, but now thinks it might be time. i asked why. convenience. in case she needs a ride home from soccer practice, etc. So i looked at her and asked, “Doesn’t the COACH have a phone she could use to make a call?”

About 10-12 years ago, I was volunteering and praying with 40 Days for Life, trying to get churches to join in to pray at the local abortion facility.
It was shocking to see Methodists, Baptists, Non-denominational, white/black churches refuse and hem/haw/hedge about being pro-life.
The new Anglican movement that split with Episcopalians and Church of England are largely pro-life, but Episcopalians are not.
PCA Presbyterians are pro-life and pro-family – but old Presybterian group is not.
As a rule, the liberal leftist pro-homo churches are not pro-life.

I now have a nag window on the home browser, touting, er, pimping “Brave Rewards”, and I’ve not been able to get rid of it.
The Brave Browser (like most others) uses Google’s Chrome Engine as its code base and underpinning. So even though it’s “Brave”, it’s Chrome underneath [and Chrome don’t get ya home].
I think the silly-cone valley oligarchs are starting to tighten the strings. I keep having to go back in and be sure the “no update” flags are set, just like I do with Windoze (nothing like shutting off a couple of services to keep Nutella from dinking with my OS).
Oops, just saw you’re on an iPad. At least you’re not on windoze, but I think the Chrome foundation code is still probably an issue…

Usually sites just check the browser version (exploder vs. Firefox vs. Brave, Chrome, et. al.). Haven’t heard them inquiring about OS on the client side, as that info can be suppressed… they need the browser version so they can display things correctly, and handle code differently. The OS shouldn’t make much of a difference (but there is a reason M$ didn’t go to Windows 9 – quick and dirty checks in browser (or server-side) code only look for the “9”, and think it’s 95 or 98…
Windoze 1 0 spews all sorts of infos out; and most of that is a pain to turn off; guess I’ll have to build a firewall server, as I don’t trust my Internet Provider to do anything useful in that regard…

He’s wrong, sorry. In terms of official “support” from M$, that’s correct, but many, MANY people will stay on W7 until the bitter end. There are people (albeit with very expensive manufacturing kit) still on XP, but they’ve “walled off” those machines.
I do computers for a living, and now do it for a hobby (senior discount years and all). I’d be interested to hear his sources for that, as there’s no reason to force people to W10. I’m not a *x person, but there are TONS of linux distros out there, many of them not that hard to use. I think it’s more a case of he doesn’t want to support W7, which I can understand, as it puts him in the position of having to support something without having the manufacturer’s backing. I have a WinXP64 box running just fine, along with a WinXP32. Neither of them “see” the internet, and only in rare cases do they even see the “sneakernet”… there are ways (I have a lot of great info on that, but most of it is in German…).

I just started this, but he said something at the very beginning that let me know he STILL does not like PDJT. He threw him in the same basket as all the others. At 4:54 he states: “Does it matter who you vote for? No, we could have ended up with” list of GOP candidates” and then states, “No, they’re all controlled by the deep state”.
In his prologue, he talks about the corruption that’s becoming visible, but he still can’t see beyond that. At least he may be able to get some people to see some of the corruption. He’s still not really “woke”..
I will go ahead and listen to it as much as I can, but 10 + minutes into it, he still appears to be “sitting on the fence” to put in nicely, about Trump.

Just got about half way through, and the history part is pretty good. I knew about Wilson from my husband, he’s railed about Wilson through the years. There are several things Beck has not talked about that are intertwined with this whole movement, the Fed, income taxes, and lowering of tariffs. The money angle is absent from this first half.

Forgotten Study: Abuse in School 100 Times Worse than by Priests

WASHINGTON, DC, April 1, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In the last several weeks such a quantity of ink has been spilled in newspapers across the globe about the priestly sex abuse scandals, that a casual reader might be forgiven for thinking that Catholic priests are the worst and most common perpetrators of child sex abuse.
But according to Charol Shakeshaft, the researcher of a little-remembered 2004 study prepared for the U.S. Department of Education, “the physical sexual abuse of students in schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by priests.”
After effectively disappearing from the radar, Shakeshaft’s study is now being revisited by commentators seeking to restore a sense of proportion to the mainstream coverage of the Church scandal.
According to the 2004 study “the most accurate data available at this time” indicates that “nearly 9.6 percent of students are targets of educator sexual misconduct sometime during their school career.”
“Educator sexual misconduct is woefully under-studied,” writes the researcher. “We have scant data on incidence and even less on descriptions of predators and targets. There are many questions that call for answers.”
In an article published on Monday, renowned Catholic commentator George Weigel referred to the Shakeshaft study, and observed that “The sexual and physical abuse of children and young people is a global plague” in which Catholic priests constitute only a small minority of perpetrators.
While Weigel observes that the findings of Shakeshaft’s study do nothing to mitigate the harm caused by priestly abuse, or excuse the “clericalism” and “fideism” that led bishops to ignore the problem, they do point to a gross imbalance in the level of scrutiny given to it, throwing suspicion on the motives of the news outlets that are pouring their resources into digging up decades-old dirt on the Church.
“The narrative that has been constructed is often less about the protection of the young (for whom the Catholic Church is, by empirical measure, the safest environment for young people in America today) than it is about taking the Church down,” he writes.
Weigel observes that priestly sex abuse is “a phenomenon that spiked between the mid-1960s and the mid-1980s but seems to have virtually disappeared,” and that in recent years the Church has gone to great lengths to punish and remove priestly predators and to protect children. The result of these measures is that “six credible cases of clerical sexual abuse in 2009 were reported in the U.S. bishops’ annual audit, in a Church of some 65,000,000 members.”
Despite these facts, however, “the sexual abuse story in the global media is almost entirely a Catholic story, in which the Catholic Church is portrayed as the epicenter of the sexual abuse of the young.”
Outside of the Church, Shakeshaft is not alone in highlighting the largely unaddressed, and unpublicized problem of child sex abuse in schools. Sherryll Kraizer, executive director of the Denver-based Safe Child Program, told the Colorado Gazette in 2008 that school employees commonly ignore laws meant to prevent the sexual abuse of children.
“I see it regularly,” Kraizer said. “There are laws against failing to report, but the law is almost never enforced. Almost never.”
“What typically happens is you’ll have a teacher who’s spending a little too much time in a room with one child with the door shut,” Kraizer explained. “Another teacher sees it and reports it to the principal. The principal calls the suspected teacher in and says ‘Don’t do that,’ instead of contacting child protective services.”
“Before you know it, the teacher is driving the student home. A whole series of events will unfold, known to other teachers and the principal, and nobody contacts child services before it’s out of control. You see this documented in records after it eventually ends up in court.”
In an editorial last week, The Gazette revisited the testimony of Kraizer in the context of the Church abuse scandal coverage, concluding that “the much larger crisis remains in our public schools today, where children are raped and groped every day in the United States.”
“The media and others must maintain their watchful eye on the Catholic Church and other religious institutions,” wrote The Gazette, “But it’s no less tragic when a child gets abused at school.”
In 2004, shortly after the Shakeshaft study was released, Catholic League President William Donohue, who was unavailable for an interview for this story, asked, “Where is the media in all this?”
“Isn’t it news that the number of public school students who have been abused by a school employee is more than 100 times greater than the number of minors who have been abused by priests?” he asked.
“All those reporters, columnists, talking heads, attorneys general, D.A.‘s, psychologists and victims groups who were so quick on the draw to get priests have a moral obligation to pursue this issue to the max. If they don’t, they’re a fraud.”
