The Lord will deliver us from every evil work and preserve us for His heavenly kingdom.
Through Jesus, in prayer, we can come openly, in complete trust, to God’s throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

When Jesus comes again, we will be transformed to be like Him.

We don’t walk alone, live alone, or face our troubles alone. Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor who assures us of His help.
Though we have sinned, we now can come openly, in complete trust, in prayer through Jesus, to God at His throne of grace. This is not our privilege gained through anything we have done. We have it solely because of Jesus. We can come to the presence of God at His throne of grace and be allowed to speak to Him, because Christ loved us and saved us. We come through the righteousness of Jesus, we come through His Name, and we come through His promises.
We are allowed to come before the Almighty God, Creator of the universe, not some earthly king, but the Creator of heaven and earth. We can come before Him right now, or any time day or night, and call upon Him confidently in prayer and He will give us the privilege to speak to Him.
In prayer we come before the throne of God. In prayer we come to the supreme Dignitary . . . and worship Him while we speak to Him.
It is because of God’s grace we come. We have no right of access or merit in ourselves, nor can any mortal obtain it for us. This blessing is freely and generously given to us as a gracious act of the God of grace.
His mercy and grace are provided to help us in our times of need. We need help when we get sick, when we lose a loved one, a job, a house, a friend, etc. We need His help in making decisions, in choosing our words, in living our daily lives. We need God’s help to overcome fear and uncertainty, and the constant changes of our lives.
We need God’s grace . . . always.

I have to apologize for being absent. I ran out of data on Thursday (will have it back next Thursday) and even had to shut the notifier off. I couldn’t like things, either, without the whole damn page trying to reload (and something on Page 1 was choking me). That’s what I get for downloading 1.8 GB of software–then discovering it was the WRONG VERSION and I had to download the right version, another 1.8 GB. One night, poof, a quarter of my monthly data!

There’s no hard evidence of anything involved with the Epstein case. Self-serving statements, hearsay, and various docs that do not directly relate to anything illegal.
I personally think this entire thing is a false flag intended to get mass attention focused away from something else.
According to the legal definition of “evidence,” quite a bit of it has been presented. To discount all of that, you would have to believe that numerous underage girls who had no other connections were brought together on the island and at other estates of Epstein’s (there are photos) and were told what to say in a conspiracy to take down Epstein and Ghislaine and that, despite being reviled themselves, and at risk to themselves, not one of them has changed her story over many years. You would have to believe that someone was coercing and/or paying them to say the things they have been saying and that the photo evidence was doctored or that the underage girls were planted in those locations, which itself seems it would be illegal.
You would have to believe that underage girls were told to lie, some under oath, about Ghislaine recruiting them and about all the things Epstein and Maxwell did, and that those girls would stick to their false stories despite massive pressure from Epstein’s defense, over many years, as they matured into adults.
Epstein “in 2008 pleaded guilty to a felony charge of solicitation of prostitution involving a minor.” Evidence doesn’t get much stronger than that.

That is sad and maddening at the same time. I’ve known several people whose loved ones in assisted living did not thrive and died while only being able to see their family at the end. I tend to use Romans 1 as my starting point. It specifically states that the perversions created/caused the penalty so I assume (only safe if you’re doing it from something God says) that AIDS/HIV is not lab created. It spreads via perversion (homosexual behavior; promiscuous behavior; etc.) and the only true prophylactic is to refuse to do those behaviors.
In any event, no matter how much money is wasted doing ‘AIDS research’ there will not be a cure until man cures his sin problem via being born again. Only then can the plague be ‘aborted’. I suspect that the Words of Christ in Matthew 24 plus Romans 1 = not likely that sufficient numbers will turn to Christ and away from sin.

So, there’s a bunch of stories to tell…..but I’ll try to Readers’ Digest them.
Yosemite, the famous National Park in California, is essentially the valleys of the Merced and Tuolumne Rivers. All the famous views are of the Yosemite Valley off the Merced River…..because the Hetch Hetchy Valley of the Tuolumne was dammed and flooded in 1923 to provide drinking water for San Francisco. Many had commented that both valleys were equally beautiful and scenic.
Hetch Hetchy water, as delivered along “The Peninsula” from San Francisco south, was consistently rated as some of the best tap water in the United States. Crisp, pure, natural snowmelt from a National Park that kept it from being tainted. Because the pipes that delivered this water had to flow across various cities, there were agreements that the cities could tap into it. When we bought our house in Santa Clara, our tapwater came from Hetch Hetchy. The agreements had to be renewed every 20 years or so, but this was on autopilot.
During the fiasco that gave our small city of 110,000 souls an NFL stadium that would never advertise our city (but would screw up our traffic), a corrupt mayor and various other corrupt officials were installed by “big money” from San Francisco. In between stiffing every man, woman, child, and squalling babe-in-arms with $4,000 debt for the white elephant of a stadium (….to be entirely financed by fruit-flavored unicorn farts, with residents only guarantors…..), the same corrupt individuals “forgot” to renew the city’s Hetch Hetchy claim — just before they abruptly resigned and left town. So, now we drink well-water contaminated by 50 years of Intel — or, I should say, we shower with it, because we no longer drink water from the tap.
As a further anecdote, there used to be a mineral water plant in Menlo Park that was well known, worldwide, for quality production. The funny thing was…..it was entirely synthetic. It involved filtering Hetch Hetchy tap water multiple times for multiple things, including through activated charcoal…..then carefully adding back selected minerals. Where other mineral waters from springs would claim certain amounts of calcium carbonate from the spring, Calso Mineral Water had a certain amount of calcium carbonate in a 55-gallon drum that they’d add until it met specifications. I used to drink it, back when I lived in southern California. Roger Moore consumed it constantly when he was James Bond. It was actually good. But you can well imagine how everything about it has been systematically erased. Few traces now exist.
Tree-huggers have periodically suggested destruction of the O’Shaughnessy Dam at Hetch Hetchy. I’d laugh so hard. San Francisco is surrounded on three sides by salt water. They’d be so screwed.
The East Bay gets Hetch-Hetchy water too… e.g. Fremont, Newark, Union City, Haywired 🙂 etc…
I have to say, there are some of us who wouldn’t mind it if SF were surrounded on four sides by salt water… 🙂

Distilled water is only good if you are doing significant broad-spectrum mineral/electrolyte dosing, because otherwise your body will be leaching out any minerals/electrolytes you don’t eat. This can lead to weird symptoms that may be difficult to diagnose by your local medical team. As an example, hard water is generally due to magnesium or calcium in carbonates, bicarbonates, and sulfates. If you cease drinking the local hard water and subsequently develop a magnesium deficiency from your body’s leaching magnesium into your drinking water and eliminating…….none of the local physicians will recognize this for a painfully long time.
If you had a totally custom-designed healthcare system that could roll with that, this wouldn’t be a problem — but the sad fact is that you should behave as the locals do so that your afflictions are what locals get and your doctors will recognize them as common.

Plain ole Baking Soda makes a pretty good toothpaste, though.
We make our toothpaste and have had no problems. No flouride needed in toothpaste as some is always swallowed. Why change some poison occassionally?
Removal of ALL fluoride would be a mistake. We have evolved for living on this planet, where few things are pure in any ecosystem. The trick is to avoid contaminated ecosystems, where things are wildly out of our available adaptations.

When we lived in the city we bought a filter that filtered out flouride. We rarely drink bottled water as most bottled water isn’t that great either (+ plastic) snd take our mason jars of our home water everywhere we go. We look like hicks but we aren’t drinking chemical water!
We also bought a filter for our shower head but it didn’t fiilter flouride … just the basics. Many filters don’t filter flouride.

I have to read through the thread to catch up, but I have a couple ground report items to relay.
First, out of the blue, one of my dog sitting clients called yesterday to shoot the breeze. That’s 25 minutes I’ll never get back (that lady can talk), but I did find out some interesting info about the viruses we’ve all had this year. Her grand-daughter and daughter in law had what sounds like the same thing Wolf and I and a number of others here had in March and before with the high fever, muscle weakness, etc. They actually were tested for the virus, and the tests came back positive for Influenza A, which is what my sister’s doctor’s office said it was. Later though, my client’s son had a bug where his sense of smell disappeared (it’s almost all the way back now). The whole family took the antibody tests and they came up positive for corona virus antibodies. Since, the tests are picking up so many corona viruses, I wouldn’t put too much stock in that, but it looks like just one person in a family getting it, and herd immunity is possible.
Second, and this is GOOD news, a girlfriend from HS (not the SJW hard core liberal) posted on FB her reaction to watching the first two episodes of a Netflix series on Jeffrey Epstein. Her word: HORRIFIC. Not kidding. In the comments, another classmate who moved away sometime when we were in HS, and who is now a teacher and hard core atheist and pretty liberal, agreed. I was floored. BUT, if those sorts of people are starting to see the light, the Great Awakening is happening, and questioning the reality that’s been presented via media vehicles to this point will begin.
It’s not as dark out there as we might think.

(all her thoughts) when i asked what she based that on? well we really don’t know what’s right and true right now she said, so why risk it? what about students who really benefit from face time with teachers? it’s a sad situation, but we really don’t know she said again.
she keeps bringing up the mask and the 6 ft social distance. I said, you know that’s not an AND situation–it’s an OR situation. If you can’t social distance 6 ft, then wear a mask, I said–that’s the guideline. well we argued over that…
and that was just one argument…she likes being home and getting her big salary and not being responsible for much. (not one kid was allowed to “fail” the sprig semester in school so she didn’t put a lot of effort into it.)

Kathy Mattea (from West Virginia, studied to be a EE, but went into music(!) ) also does Harlan, on her album “Coal”. It’s also very good (probably better in some respects) but is a tad too polished, more like a studio session (which of course it was) than a really “felt” performance. I really like her music, but I can’t stand her politics (she went with Gore-Bull to Antarctica, for instance)… grrr…
In any case, her album “Coal” gives an idea of what folks in Appalachia are up against, albeit from a Greenie, anti-coal perspective. She should realize that without coal (and the railroads) America would be a VERY different country than it is now.
(Makes me shudder to think what Germany will be like when they’ve shut off all nukes and coal-fired plants [current talk is by 2030 – hmmm, sound familiar?])

Saturn and Jupiter will be getting a LOT closer together in a few months. Closer than anytime in at least 200 years. One fifth the width of the full moon, if I am not mistaken, and that’s close enough you might be able to look at them both simultaneously in a telescope, depending on the width of the field of view on the lens.
I heard that, Steve – fascinating – wonder if this positioning has any other significance with respect to our planet – weather patterns – human behavior – events – space exploration – and the like.
I doubt it will have much influence on the geophysical aspects of our planet (weather, earthquakes, etc). Their gravitational influence on earth is puny compared to the sun and moon, which, of course, raise the tides. Any effect would be so tiny as to be indistinguishable from noise in the data.
(There was a “Jupiter Effect” scare in the late 70s looking forward to a “grand alignment” effect of all the planets…one problem being it would be no problem, the other being that there was NO such alignment.)
Planets getting into certain configurations (though NOT in a straight line) CAN affect space exploration; if we send probes to them; in fact the Voyager 1 spacecraft used such an alignment to visit Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus *and* Neptune. They believed, at the time, that that might be the only chance at Uranus and Neptune for a century, just because they thought they’d have to use slingshots from Jupiter and Saturn to get there (and the relatively positioning of the planets is critical for that to work). Apparently our capabilities have expanded somewhat. We sent a probe to Pluto, just a bit further from the sun than is Neptune, and ONLY slingshot it past Jupiter…and we didn’t even really need to do that. Using Jupiter saved five years but wasn’t truly necessary. If we can go to Pluto without help, we can surely use just Jupiter to go to either Uranus or Neptune, just wait for the right time in the next twelve years to use Jupiter to “slingshot” to Uranus (or Neptune). Sending an *orbiter* (like Galileo, Juno, or Cassini) to those worlds may be beyond our capability–I just don’t know one way or the other.
As for the effect of that alignment on human behavior…the biggest hazard is some idiot with a big megaphone hyping it up as the end of the world or an omen or something like that. (If something can be predicted 500 years in advance, like this, does it really make sense, even to people who believe in omens, that it could be an omen?)
Interesting the ‘slingshot’ effect – all of this messing around in the universe could boomerang on what we think we already know – only God knows – after all – He fashioned it – and who can know the mind of God – certainly, no man.
Wonder if space exploration is just another pipe dream – how much of it has already happened – I have my doubts – you have set up a scenario that makes it literally impossible for us to maneuver in space – still baffles me what we do not know about what we are doing – trial and error might produce some unimaginable truth – but, I doubt it – God knows – and we – in our feeble attempts can only surmise – imho – and now – we are going to Mars – Really?

The “slingshot” is a dramatic (and kind of misleading) nickname for a maneuver where we send a spacecraft past a planet, “behind” it in its orbital motion. (Which is to say, if you’re looking at the solar system from somewhere way above the earth’s north pole, the planets are seen to move in counter-clockwise directions; the spacecraft has to be sent just clockwise of the planet, sort of like crossing a street and timing it so you cross the street behind some car driving down it, rather than in front of the car.) What happens is the planet bends the trajectory of the spacecraft AND the spacecraft gets the planet’s orbital velocity added to its original velocity. Normally to change speed in space we have to use rocket propellant, which is heavy and you need more rocket propellant to push that rocket propellant. A planetary flyby is “free” delta-V (change in velocity). [The planet loses a godzillionth of its momentum in exchange–not enough to be measured, even after a billion years of watching it.]
Obviously with star trek level technology, none of this would ever matter (what we do today is puny in comparison to the Enterprise’s “impulse power” let alone “warp drive”, about like snails versus jet aircraft), but for us, who have to use rockets to get anywhere, it’s a big deal.
You have done nothing to set up a scenario – your slingshot theory is interesting – impossible to maneuver through space in the mind’s eye – not impossible considering other factors.
Do we even have the ability develop a rocket that can handle these variables? A propellant so powerful to withstand the challenges? Seems to me science fiction has propelled us into imagining we can – even PT talks about warp speed – as if we can already attain it.
Warp speed is not coming out of any rocket. It’d have to be something new to me. (And I’d love it, but wishing alone won’t make it so.)
The fundamental problem with a rocket, or even something like “ion power” is it works by pushing stuff out the back end very fast. That brings Newton’s third law into play (equal and opposite reactions)–push the propellant out the back, the rocket moves forward. What has to be “equal” in this case, is momentum, the mass being pushed, times the velocity. If you’re on a rocket ship that weighs ten tons, and you push one ton of rocket fuel out the back at a speed of ten miles per second, you will speed the rocket up by one mile per second.
But the problem–what limits rockets–is that once you’ve pushed that fuel out, it’s gone. And you can only carry so much of it. Worse: When you start off, you have to speed up all of the fuel you will be using later, which means using even more fuel early on. Every time you add more payload, you add a LOT more fuel (hundreds of times the mass). If the mission needs more of a change of velocity later on…the amount of fuel needed goes up exponentially.
That’s why they use things like slingshots and aerobraking; to save on propellant mass.
Now if you can figure out a way to make the same amount of propellant move faster as it exits the nozzle, that’s a good thing, and that’s measured in a number called “specific impulse.” Unfortunately, we’re limited there–hydrogen/oxygen is the best stuff we have, and it still takes a lot of it. (Remember the shuttle–the shuttle itself was largely empty space, but the big orange fuel tank and the solid boosters strapped on to either side were FILLED with fuel. And the shuttle could ONLY go into orbit (not to the moon or planets) and had to aerobrake to come back.
There was some attempt back in the 50s and 60s to use a nuclear power plant to heat the propellant and double its specific impulse, but that was abandoned as hazardous (plus the nuclear power plant itself is so heavy you might not gain anything.)

Wondered how that was going to work – something as bulky as a rocket ship – would need quite a bit of thrust to even propel it a short distance – then, when you have spent your fuel – where can you replace it?
Weren’t they looking into something other than the hydrogen/oxygen fuel mix? Is it Liquid Hydrogen? If so, will that work – be more efficient – lighter to carry – more powerful?
We use liquid oxygen and hydrogen today; it’s the best thing we’ve got going, because burning the hydrogen with the oxygen releases a lot of energy (to heat up the propellant and cause it to escape out the back end) and because the product is water, which is a light molecule. Specific impulse is higher for lighter molecules. IF we could find a way to heat pure hydrogen enough, it would work better (hence the experiments with nuclear thermal propulsion, where a reactor would be used to supply the heat). But regardless, using chemical reactions there’s only so much heat available!
Another thing that has some promise is ionic propulsion; you can use electrical forces to accelerate atoms a lot more than heat will. But the problem is, ion drives can only operate at a very slow rate…they get a lot of ooomph for their fuel, just not all at once. So they could be useful once you’re already out in space, and have time, but not to get off the earth’s surface, where you have to do it as fast as you possibly can (and that’s where most of the fuel gets burned for any mission).
Solar sails would use sunlight to generate a push, and that’s promising too–but again, for out in space, not getting *to* space. That uses no propellant at all!
Anything else I’ve heard of is pure speculation at this point.
Sounds like there is a need for various kinds of fuel – then, there is the problem of changing from one to the other – seems like a complicated transition – from one to the other for different phases – still in the development phase – I guess – seems to me PT is serious about space travel but, mostly for national defense – so I wonder why he keeps talking about Mars.
It’s our natural next goal for manned spaceflight. We’ve been to the moon, Venus is unvisitable because the atmosphere would crush the astronauts and the heat would incinerate them…so Mars.
Mars actually has a carbon dioxide atmosphere and water ice. With a good source of power, the astronauts could actually make their own air to breathe, and even their own fuel to come back (oxygen and liquid methane–though if water turns out to be a big problem, we could send the hydrogen with them in liquid form). If we don’t have to truck that fuel out there, we can do a LOT more! Plus of course the possibility of building shelter and even doing gardening there. Lots of reasons to think Mars is much more hospitable than the moon, and the less we have to schlep with us, the better!
Seems to me – carrying the fuel is still a problem – however – if you can make your own fuel after landing – that would be ideal – yes? Carbon dioxide atmosphere – yuk – sounds like one big mask – Water ice – they are sure there is water on Mars? I thought Mars was supposed to be close to Earth in accommodations – for lack of a better word – shelter and gardening – really?
Yeah, we’d definitely have to wear pressure suits outside. No doubt there. Air pressure is very low and it’s mostly CO2. But just the fact that it IS CO2 is a bonus, it’s easy to get carbon and oxygen out of that, both of which the astronauts would need there.
Mars is certainly doable by rocket, eminently so in fact. But it will take something like nine months to get there; the limiting factor is the people (and how they could stand being cooped up for that long, to say nothing of the radiation hazards in outer space) not the rockets. And nine months of freefall wouldn’t be good for them either. All of these are engineering challenges that could be solved, particularly if the astronauts are willing to take some risks of cancer later in life and things like that. (Many are.)

Assuming it’s all true, it’s a very different thing from any (potential) claim that this conjunction coming up will have a sudden, sharp effect on us.
Milankovich cycles (cyclic changes to the earth’s orbit caused by the other planets) are actually well known–but they are gradual, running in the tens of thousands of years.
As for the sunspot cycle and Jupiter…OK, the two numbers are similar. But then they’d have to come up with a plausible explanation for why the sun would behave differently with Jupiter between it and (say) Sagittarius, versus with Jupiter between it and Gemini. The sun is a sphere, symmetrical and it rotates, so no orientation of Jupiter in its orbit should make any difference. Unless Jupiter is in a highly elliptical orbit–in which case perihelion and aphelion gravitational forces would be quite different from each other…but it’s not in a highly elliptical orbit; it’s pretty close to circular–a bit less so than ours, but much more so than Mars and Mercury. Is it enough, so that the Sun is significantly affected by Jupiter being closer than average versus farther? I kind of doubt it but admittedly that’s my gut feel and a good theoretical analysis could indicate I’m full of it.
The article is not a current one – and yes – it is just a theory – much has changed since then – hopefully, we have learned more – however – isn’t it odd we hear more about sunspots than we have ever heard before? Does that mean they are important – or just something about which we should be curious or pay attention? I have no idea – just believed there was some connection between the orbits of the planets and the sun – and somehow – that affects life on Earth – perhaps – changes in the universe literally revolve around the sun – and it is the sun that must be our focus – we already know the affects of the lunar cycle.
However – you should not sell yourself short – even the most ridiculous of theories gives rise to something important or perhaps, something we missed in the past – we are still learning – it is hard to study something that is so far away – we must ‘calculate’ anything that may or may not affect its behavior.
Part of scientific training is to be able to recognize something that shows up in the formulae as a term that will be so tiny it can be ignored. Often times it’s something that’s a billionth, or a trillionth, or even less, the size of the other terms, and that’s stuff that won’t be measurable next to the big effect.
Perturbations by other planets are insignificant in the short term, but because they are persistent, they eventually add up. And if two planets orbit in a resonance (say, one twice as fast as the other), then they will really add up over time, as every time the two planets are closest to each other, they’re also in the same place in their orbit. The greater pull is always in the same direction.
If you really want to start playing with those sorts of calculations, however, the math gets ugly and there’s no way to just pop the positions and velocities of three bodies into a formula and see where they’ll be in a hundred years. (You can do it with two bodies, but not three.) So you end up having a computer do something called “numerical integration” where you take your starting condition, extrapolate it for a short period of time, then use those new positions to calculate gravity for the next period of time, and so on. The shorter the time interval, the better. I’ve actually had to do some of that for college level schoolwork but that was long enough ago that I can’t do it now!
That is what I was thinking – the permutations – but, only two – not three – surely we have progressed where computers could handle more than two – like a series of complicated calculations – just not possible to be accurate because of changing conditions?
Was not thinking of long range – just maybe – 20-50 years max – but, even that seems impossible – besides – what would we do with this information? How would it be beneficial to space exploration?
Engineers use ‘numerical integration’ to build models – I think – it is also used by mechanical designers in 3D modeling to deign machines- I believe.
But, hey – this stuff is well over my pay grade.
They’ve done computer work with literally millions of bodies at once. If you’ve ever seen those computer simulations of two galaxies colliding, that’s how it was done. But it was a LOT of numerical integrations. You *have* to do numerical integration for more than two bodies, the derived formulas force it on you. When it’s one object orbiting another and they can be treated as point masses, you can do a closed form solution, where you plug in a time any time in the future or past, and out will pop the answer…and it takes as much time to do a billion years from now as it does an hour from now. Numerical integration has to literally solve the problem for every step of time between now and the time of interest, so the further away it is, the longer it takes. (And how big is a “step”? That depends on how accurate you want it to be.)
I see – that is fascinating – how you proceed is dependent upon what you want – two galaxies colliding – Wow!

The Andromeda galaxy is expected to collide with our galaxy in about five billion years. And the thing is, no one living on planets will even notice any effect. The space between stars is so huge relative to the size of the stars, that it’s very unlikely we’d even have one collision between stars! But they will be scattered all over the place.
Astronomers can see galaxies that are colliding right now, and the results of “recent” (last few hundred million years) collisions as well.
You are talking a lot of years – how old is the universe – or are there more than one out there?
This universe (the only one we know of definitively though there is speculation) is currently thought to be 13.7 billion years old (or so–the number does get adjusted from time to time). Our solar system is 4.567 billion years old (an easy number to remember, actually, 4, 5, 6, 7). The Earth is a bit younger than that.
The universe is likely to last hundreds of billions of years, but Earth will probably be destroyed in five billion years or so, if not sooner, when the sun enters its red giant phase.
Hmmm…I wonder how they came up with those numbers – but, that is another story.
It’s a very long and involved one for the universe, much shorter for the solar system and earth (largely radioisotope dating).

Here’s a contrived example to illustrate numerical integration versus a closed form solution: You have a car on a 600 mile long highway, and the car has cruise control, set to 60 miles an hour. Where will it be in five hours?
The closed form solution is just to multiply 5 hours by the 60 mile per hour speed and out pops 300 miles. You can put any time in, they’re all equally easy.
A numerical integration would be like looking at the car’s speed and position right now, and saying, “OK, now where will the car be in one second?” That turns out to be 88 feet further along the highway. So you put the car there, time=1 second. You repeat; the car will be 88 feet further along after the second second, total 176 feet, and you put the car there. Repeat that 17,998 more times and you know where the car will be after five hours.
Now no one in their right mind would use numerical integration to solve this problem, but imagine the car is changing velocity in some way, and it might make more sense. Imagine now eight planets and the sun, each is pulling on all the others and shifting their positions and velocities–which will in turn affect the effect they have in the future. NOW you *must* use numerical integration; there’s just no other way to do it.

For regular hand soap – I melt a couple of jars of Dove soap in boiled water.
– Soften soap a bit in the microwave
– Chop in a food processor or chop with a knife and cutting board.
– Melt soap chips in hot boiled water to make a liquid soap.
There are many more formulas for foaming hand soap online – I just posted a few.
my son made his own hand sanitizer and gave gallons to family and friends when this all started. I made the masks they wanted and we traded with his friends for canned fruits and veggies…bartering worked out well!

I probably make about 90% of my cleaning products, lotions and seasoning mixes now, I started just for fun to see if I could do it when I couldn’t easily find a few of my favorites and then realized that it was very economical as well as I could control what is in them.
In some cases, I just put all the “ingredients“ into a large zip lock so they are in one spot and it’s a snap to mix them.
The Internet is great for this! Yesterday I was making a Mediterranean shrimp dish that called for canned marinated artichoke hearts and I only had water-packed ones on hand, and I knew the taste wouldn’t be the same. But, a quick search gave me a very simple way to convert, which I did early in the day to allow them to marinate and it turned out great. That goes into my DYI kitchen file and will use from now on. Next time you are in the grocery store, compare the two and see if it’s worth making your own…I bet you’ll find it is….without any special ingredients or equipment.

My old friend Janet, who was the GM of a very popular hair salon, heard yesterday from two of her former employees that they had “tested positive” for Covid. At first she was very alarmed and concerned for there welfare until she heard the rest of the story (Paul Harvey’s signature line). Both reported neither had been to any testing facility nor had they provided any sample of any body fluid. But both were notified in the mail that they had “tested positive.”

I have a theory of what is going on. It’s diabolical. It does not even require a FRESH blood sample, or one taken specifically for COVID testing. In fact, it uses what you regard as a “normal” blood draw at the doctor’s office. It can be an OLD draw – because we know that the antibody test can be run on old samples.
The Dems and the medical grift machine figured out a way to not only make COVID bucks, and to not only hide herd immunity, but to pass it off as new cases.
Do you understand the political fakery that this is? This is why we only heard a little bit about herd immunity values, back in April and May, and then things disappeared completely.
Here goes the explanation.
Lots of us give blood samples for testing for normal things like lipids, cholesterol, liver function, prostate, thyroid, and all the rest. RIGHT? Routine blood draws.
Now – I have an intersection with this – seems separate at first, but there is a MONEY connection.
I wanted to get an antibody test after I figured out that I had COVID, when the shortness of breath I suffered with an ILI (influenza-like illness) in JANUARY persisted into MARCH, and I figured out that the virus got here EARLY.
My doctor said “Wait a few weeks until there is a good antibody test that the FDA has approved – our office will be able to handle it then.”
I thought “great”. Well, it was about 3 months MORE from March – meaning June, when it finally happened. The test was NEGATIVE, which we now understand is because COVID-19 antibodies disappear so fast, and further immunity is mediated through T cells.
But what I discovered through other means is that my doc didn’t send the test off anywhere – it was done BY the HMO that the practice belongs to. Basically, it was sent to the diagnostic wing of their own doctor’s group. So THEY made money on the test, because THEY did the test.
SO – circle back. Doctors decide what tests to order – the exact tests are out of the patient’s hands – right? Doctors get permission for the blood draw, but they do NOT get your permission for individual tests.
So what people are seeing is MONEY-MAKING of a medical “whoops” that was probably PLANNED and UNDERSTOOD.
Many of us are now being tested for antibodies, because nobody needs our permission, and we don’t have to be warned about anything if we’re “positive” to an antibody test. They don’t even have to tell us, really. They can just use some crazy acronym in the test results, if they want.
But HERE is the real trick. Remember how the American reporting system has been mixing in antibody positives with VIRUS positives to increase the numbers? This shows that the whole scam is linked.
The medical socialism establishment can take your blood for cholesterol, test it for prior exposure to COVID without your permission, make money on it, say you were “positive” and give that ping to the numbers for the MSM to trumpet as higher “case numbers” for the Democrat shills to whine about.
Sometimes the fact gets out – gets back to the patient. But it doesn’t have to. And certainly not obviously.
In cases where people waited in line or filled out paperwork, they ASSUME there is a connection, but there doesn’t have to be. Many of these cases are likely REAL antibody testing being reported as an “old positive” and they don’t have to explain or warn on it.
This is part of how the greater scam protected itself from public perceptions of herd immunity. This is how they deflated herd immunity and used it to inflate “new cases”.

DirectLabs contracts for a heavily discounted rate with either Quest of the other really big one. They’ve switched between them depending on which one gives them the better deal. If you went straight to the lab you’d have to have a written order from a doctor and pay $$$$.
Another DIY service used to be Canary Club. Don’t know what they are up to these days.
And yes, being able to get info from a test BEFORE having a discussion with your doctor is one of the other perks besides spending less money.

Interesting, but I think it’s a trivial statistical effect. Gail’s point about seniors in nursing homes pretty much being universally FORCED to take the flu shots (or they have to leave) means that it’s a trivial outcome.

Kenny Loggins was a 17-year-old high-school senior, staring down his impending adulthood, when he wrote “House at Pooh Corner.” The song was inspired by A.A. Milne’s 1928 book “The House at Pooh Corner,” a collection of short stories about Winnie the Pooh and the rest of the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood.
But by 1970 — when the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band wanted to record the song — Pooh had been turned into a Disney character, and the company’s lawyers tried to stop the song from being released. That’s where fate stepped in.
The song was also included on Loggins and Messina’s 1971 album “Sittin’ In.” Loggins told the story of “Pooh Corner” to Bart Herbison, executive director of Nashville Songwriters Association International.
Bart Herbison: I find this incredible that you had, first of all, that level of craftsmanship as a senior in high school.
Kenny Loggins: Well, I didn’t consider it craftsmanship.
You write it when you’re 17 years old? Take me back to that idea and the writing of the song.
Well, (I was) going on graduation in high school, and for some reason, I was thinking about that last chapter in “The House at Pooh Corner.” It was the first book I ever read. The last chapter is where Christopher Robin is leaving the Hundred Acre Wood, and he’s telling everybody goodbye. I felt like that was akin to what I was going through in high school. Some part of me knew that I was leaving my childhood behind. I didn’t really think it through like that. It just sort of came through.
I think there’s an incredible story behind how the song got recorded, and copyright issues.
… I wrote this song about Winnie the Pooh, but I was 17, and I didn’t really have any awareness that I wasn’t allowed to write a song about Winnie the Pooh, and that there were people who owned that copyright. In those days, as a songwriter, you’d go around to different parties, much like what’s happening here in Nashville where you have writers in the round. Different songwriters would show up at parties, and we’d all take turns showing whatever we’d written that week. The parties kept me writing, so that I’d have something new to play at the next party. At this one party that I went to, there were a couple of guys from a band called the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. They were an up-and-coming act, and they loved that song. They said, “We’re looking for songs for our album. We want to record that.”
I was really excited, and I’d never had a song recorded. About a month later, I got a phone call from John McEuen, who at the time seemed to be the leader of the Dirt Band. He says, “Kenny, I’m really sorry, but we won’t be able to record that song. We’ve been inundated with phone calls from Disney lawyers for the last few weeks, telling us that we’re not allowed to record a song about Winnie the Pooh.”
I was going on a date that night, and I mentioned to my girlfriend, “I’m kinda bummed tonight because I thought I had my first song recorded, and it’s not gonna happen. The Disney lawyers put the kibosh on it.” She looked at me and says, “Disney lawyers? Let me to talk to Daddy about that.” I did not know that I was dating the daughter of the CEO of the Disney corporation.
And then you came back to that song.
Twenty-something years later, (I was) about to have my fourth child, and my first thought was, “Oh my God, I’m going back into the land of Barney (the Dinosaur) again. This is going to be like, ugh, somebody shoot me.” I had been there three times before. But then I thought, “Why doesn’t somebody make an album for kids that parents could love as much as the kids?” Because when kids get into music, they’ll play it a thousand times.
I started, and the first thing that struck me was, “Write a new verse to ‘House at Pooh Corner,’ ” because I wrote that as a kid, and now I have a completely different perspective on it as a dad. So I wrote a third verse, and my oldest boy named it “Return to Pooh Corner.” And then he went on to be a songwriter, too.”

The girl spoke to her Dad, and he had Kenny Loggins come to his office at Disney Studios and play the song for him. He liked it, and said the lawyers won’t be a problem, and gave him permission to publish the song.
All the articles I could find stop where the one above does, and then go on about the new verse, but there was (is) more to the story about going to see the CEO of Disney and how that transpired.
It was the best part of the story, and now I can’t find it!

I’m not positive, but I don’t think I learned this one (Mr. Bojangles) until junior high school. If I knew it before then, I didn’t hear it much for some reason until I was a little older.
So many of these old songs are really SAD, but the tune is so catchy that it doesn’t occur to me how sad it is unless I think about the lyrics.
Same with ‘Cats in the Cradle’ (Harry Chapin) or ‘Wild World’ (Cat Stevens) or ‘Hey Jude’ (Beatles) or lots of others. Lots of sad songs, but I don’t hear them very often, so whenever I do, it’s like seeing an old friend… and it’s hard to be sad, when you’re glad 😁

Harry Chapin told some of the saddest story songs… to the point that he even wrote one called “Stop Singing These Sad Songs (Just Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Times)”, which is also a great song!
This is a special song to a lot of people, and probably Harry’s best known, although ‘Taxi’ would be a close second, another (longer) story song. A couple of other story songs of Harry’s that come to mind are “(Anywhere’s) a Better Place to Be”, and “Mr. Tanner”.

I’ve been thinking this for months. This was a trial run, and anyone could release anything at any time. I believe the Trump administration is preparing and ready, but I’d love to know how. Probably too much info for people wiithout security clearances…
People already know about Vit E, C, D3 selenium, zinc, and green tea or Quercetin as substitutes for HCQ as zinc ionophores to move the zinc into the cells to fight viruses. while this is maybe funny or a joke it is absolutely doctored. Not saying Pelosi isn’t a fruit loop or a aperson who drinks. And she *does* slur at times.
But this is extremely doctored video clip. Better to focus on her real, actual problems than to pass this around and district from real issues with this type of fake news. + destroys one’s own credibility
see minute 34:00 – she does have trouble hearing the “reporter” ask a question and she does mispronounce a word and she does have a constant slight slur/lipse but she is nothing like what is in the doctored video clip in the tweet.
Thank you Mom… Juanita B RT’d it, and I trusted that. And she claimed it was not doctored, etc., so again I trusted that. But it is obvious from the full video that the clip was doctored. Again, thanks.

In all honesty, I just couldn’t believe she was that bad.
She really does slur her words but making it worse than it is in reality obscures the real issue because then when we hear the real her we think it is ok ’cause not as bad as the doctored her
