Dear KAG: 20201231 Open Thread – Adieu 2020, And Don’t Let The Door Hit You On The Way Out

To quote a family friend who had a HORRIBLE year in 2014, I don’t mean to be unlady-like, but 2020 can eff itself. (She really did post that on LifeLog.)

Just to get it out of our systems, in this space today, please, air all grievances. Things like:

  • Two weeks to flatten the curve
  • Face diapers required
  • Attempts to recreate the 1918 Influenza epidemic, the Great Depression AND the Irish Potato Famine all at once (plant based proteins for steak eaters?)
  • Dancing “healthcare workers”
  • Karens
  • No where to get a drink or coffee with a friend
  • Weddings and funerals cancelled
  • Free exercise of Religion suspended
  • Pennies from the millionaires (and at least a couple billionaires) on Capitol Hill
  • ONE THIRD of small businesses closed…PERMANENTLY
  • TESTING TESTING AND MORE TESTING
  • Mail that takes 10 days to move less than 200 miles

This is not meant to be a definitive list. Really, add more in the comments.

And now for the traditional song that no one knows why it is tradition or what the words are supposed to mean.

And…DICK CLARK??????

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, Q drop decodes, riot information, news flashes, Chy-na flu updates, fashionable mask photos, satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

In the meantime, the short and sweet version of “THE RULES” is here borrowed from Tuesday:

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights…okay wrapped chocolate miniatures are fair game
  2. No running with scissors, we’re going to need them to cut wrapping paper
  3. If you bring snacks, be sure they are made with bacon

Auntie DePat’s requests as we are all, ahem, adults, not uncivilized pygmies:

If you see something has not been posted, do us all a favor, and post it. Please, do not complain that it has not been done yet.

Please, check the CURRENT page, at least, of posts for the item you have to bring to the tree. It may well have been posted previously. Twinsing can’t usually be helped, but for Q-Treepers pressed for time, all efforts to keep the current page, at least, repeat free will prevent additional comments that call for the scroll wheel.

The scroll wheel on your mouse can be your friend. As mature adults, please use it here in the same manner you would in avoiding online porn.

Thank you so much for any and all attention to such details. It is GREATLY appreciated by more than one party here.

JOHN 1:1-18

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God; 3all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7He came for testimony, to bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him. 8He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light. 9The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not. 11He came to his own home, and his own people received him not. 12But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. 15(John bore witness to him, and cried, “This was he of whom I said, `He who comes after me ranks before me, for he was before me.'”) 16And from his fulness have we all received, grace upon grace. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.

Prayers for the nation, the salvation of humanity, and all of us here as well as our families are welcome.

How are you and the family doing?

Deplorable Patriot

Thanks for asking.

Dealing on the cousins front even as some nasty inter-personal issues have cropped up among the Spaniards.

My SIL, OTOH, after 16 months of one thing after another, got a diagnosis that’s far more scary. Chemo involved.

I’m just going to keep doing the dishes and laundry.

patfrederick

so sorry DePat!
breathe in and out…
you’re a strong woman

Deplorable Patriot

Yeah, this is not good. And my SIL’s family…don’t go there. It’s days like this I miss my grandmother. She’d tell them off – complete with a few SOBs – and then say a Rosary for the salvation of their souls.

patfrederick

she left big shoes to fill…but somebody’s gotta step in them…

you’re in my prayers DePat!

What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 ElectionHow the media tried to suppress a quote about Stalin using the media to rig elections.
https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/12/what-stalin-quote-about-rigging-elections-reveals-daniel-greenfield/

As Republicans began pushing back against the rigged election, a quote about voting from Joseph Stalin began circulating on social media. “The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything,” is how variations of it went.

As soon as the quote went viral, the media’s fact checkers tried to suppress it.

USA Today‘s fact checker rated it as false, claiming that Stalin had never said it based on speaking with two history professors at Vanderbilt University who vowed that they never heard of it. One of the professors, who serves as the Director of Undergraduate Russian and East European Studies, ranted that it was, “an example of American right-wing paranoia, active manipulation of public opinion, or outright and fascism”. Truly a quote worthy of Stalin.

But had the ‘fact checker’ and the professors just checked Oxford’s Essential Quotations, they would have found it. You don’t need a PhD or a fact checker title: just a modicum of integrity.

. . .

Boris Bazhanov had worked as Stalin’s private secretary and, unlike most of the murderous Communist dictator’s associates, survived by escaping before he could be killed. Still a young man in his twenties, Bazhanov had seen too much and enough to know what was coming. On New Year’s Day, he fled across the border from Turkmenistan to Persia, then through India, surviving several assassination attempts along the way, before finding refuge in France.

Bazhanov’s memoir about his time with Stalin had several titles, it’s named Bazhanov and the Damnation of Stalin in English, but all of the versions lay out the damning story of how Stalin took over the Soviet Union by manipulating the system and ruthlessly purging his rivals.

What’s more remarkable than the quote related in Bazhanov’s memoir is its context.

The Soviet Union had arrived at a crucial moment. Communist economics had managed to fail in a matter of years. The Troika were overseeing a collapsing economy that had married socialism to the Czarist bureaucracy and its police state with terrible results leading to a surge of discontent from local labor and political organizations against Moscow’s centralized control.

If the Troika didn’t get the peasants and workers under control, the regime of the peasants and workers would be in trouble. The three members of the Troika met to discuss the crisis and the possibility that they could be ousted by their own membership if the uprising gained momentum.

“And you, Comrade Stalin, what do you think of this question?” Kamenev asked Stalin.

“What,” Stalin replied, “of what question?”

“Of the question of capturing the majority of the Party,” Kamanev said.

“Do you know what I think about this?” Stalin replied, “I believe that who and how people in the Party vote, is unimportant. What is extremely important is who counts the votes, and how they are recorded.”

The quote, despite the attempts to suppress it with Stalinists fact checking Stalinism, is indeed real. But what’s more important is what Bazhanov relates happened after this conversation.

Before this, Bazhanov recalled that, “in most of the Party organizations the majority was not for the Central Committee. I know that in the huge cell of the Central Committee itself, the majority voted against the Central Committee… the Central Committee had lost the majority in the Party organization of the capital city, the most important in the country. The provincial organizations were falling into line with the Moscow one.”

Stalin’s response was to take control of Pravda and fake the results of the votes.

https://www.theqtree.com/wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz-emoticons/emoticons/img/shock.svg

“If a certain cell had 300 votes for the Central Committee and 600 against,” then Pravda flipped the voting totals so that they read, “For the Central Committee 600, against 300.”

FDR was a commie. But I have a gift for understatement.

Aubergine

Shit like this right here is why I don’t, and would never, live in a city.

Gail Combs

Agreed, I preferred to commute a long distance if I had to vs living in a city.

I did so in Boston ONCE for six months. The murder outside my bedroom window was the last straw.

Aubergine

Jeez, yeah, that would do it!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

You’re not safe from this in the country, in fact the Holodomor actually occurred in the countryside. Villages, and I mean villages of farmers, had their food taken away.

Aubergine

Yes, I get that. But it’s a lot faster in the cities. Let’s face it, if the trucks stop delivering, the food riots start in a week. If they come for my food, I can grow more. We can also hunt. There are far more ways to fight back here than in Detroit or Atlanta.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

OK, gotcha.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

There’s a “dark humor” meme out there.

A picture of Stalin with the line “Dark humor is like food. Many don’t get it.”

(No, I don’t think even the originator was trying to claim that was a Stalin quote; they just put him in there to set the context.)

On a positive note, here in my little town, every small business owner I talked to over the Christmas shopping season said they were super busy! People were making it a point to shop locally. We get it, and are trying to fight back as best we can.

Gail Combs

So are we. Hubby hates it because it takes more time to go from store to store then it does to go to wally-mart, but I insist on shoping the local stores FIRST, then if what we want is not available we go to Wally as a last resort.

Aubergine

My last resort has been online ordering. I try to order from individual companies that are in America. Failing local and that option, I will resort to Amazon or Walmart.

It should also be noted that the two factions in Russia came to be known as the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks…..which, literally, mean “Majority” and “Minority”….when the Bolsheviks were never a majority except in the vote counts they controlled.

And, of course, once the Bolsheviks seized power, their suppression of the Mensheviks was brutal and vicious.

About that traditional song that no one knows why it is tradition or what the words are supposed to mean…

Actually, it opens with a question….”Should old acquaintance(s) be forgot and n’er brought to mind?”…

…and the rejoinder is “We’ll raise a cup to kindness then and auld langs syne (or “old time’s sake” in ancient scotish).

Most simply put, it’s a song (originally a scotish poem) of remembrance and forgetfulness, sung in dedication to (the) past year(s) at the beginning of a new year…..some things/people we want to (always) remember (and/or may have forgotten) others we want to forget and “n’er brought to mind” (and/or can’t forget)…

…which is why the tune itself is wistful in it’s tone.

With the above, Pence is advertising the standard of his expected actions.

Come to think of it, that throughout all this action, there have been some constants in the behavior of the actors. There is the leftists projecting and accusing everyone else of doing what they are doing themselves. There are the weird anachronisms, the effect-before-cause or cart-before-horse that is kind of a favorite of the deep state. There is the media with their narrative-production.

And on our side there is the fastidious and accurate observation of law and order, even when the law is defective or not timely enforced. But no extrajudicial actions; all of what’s happening has to have some basis somewhere in the Consittution and the US Code. Air and water, perchance hydrogen, tight. Dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s and all the ducks in a row. We all know who the thieves and murderers are, their recorded and documented actions, and the investigation and prosecution of them will have to bear fruit soon. But first their crime has to be complete.

Meanwhile, things are still happening. There was another emission from Biden, where his team was whinging about lack of access to state secrets, and there are wheels turning for the legislatives in several States, where officials finally have realized that there was more to the numbers than should be, that more votes than voters is an immediate indication and proof of non-funny business. False certification of electors is more illegalities, that need to be caught.

The question may be is how much is vitiated by the fraud, some of the worst cities and counties, perhaps entire States, ideally maybe all of it, but then what? This does open a couple different possibities for what will happen next in detail.

The reason for the action being like this slow legal march, with no spectacular and irreversible crossings of Rubicon, or other waterways; no martial law, no catching the thieves before the theft, etc., is that there is supposed to be a reasonably intact Republic, with a legitimate President, afterwards when all the dust has settled. But the time to flip the switch is approaching and must be near.

Pence is about to come front and center on the stage for his part in the play («we’re watching a movie» remember?). And he knows he has to do the correct thing.

Which is to ensure the Republic doesn’t become a banana republic.

His video looks like a promise that he will.

Who are the Buccinis?

https://www.bpgroup.net/who-we-are/

Offices in Washington, Delaware, and Philadelphia.

The Buccinis are founders of Keystone S&E (Keystone Sports & Entertainment).

In 2007, they partnered with AEG, Michelle Swing’s employer, to develop a soccer sports complex in Philadelphia.

https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/year-in-review/20071210_Daring_to_dream_of_soccer_stadium.html

AEG partners with AT&T, MGM Resorts in Las Vegas, and Nashville Yards. Nashville Yards is an entertainment complex currently under construction
within blocks of the bombing site.

AEG’s founder also founded telecom Qwest.

AEG controls the Minneapolis Target Center, and the Detroit TCF Center.

AEG owns the Washington Examiner, and has extensive media and film assets. AEG owns Regal Cinemas.

AEG is Anschutz Entertainment Group, founded by Philip Anschutz.

James Holmes was in a Ph.D. program at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, on an NIH talent grant.

10:48 AM on the day when – by that night – Las Vegas property values, “scanner company” values, gun stock values, concert venues – everything is going to shift WILDLY and some people know what is about to happen.

On the night of October 1, 2017, at 10:05 p.m., Paddock fired more than 1,000 rounds from his hotel room, Room 32-135, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, onto a large crowd of concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, ultimately killing 60 people and wounding 867 others. He then shot and killed himself.

These horrible people LEAD CURRENT EVENTS by MAKING THE EVENTS – to MONETIZE, to CONTROL, and to FEED the SATANISTS – very likely with FOOTAGE (like the missing GO-PROs in San Bernardino).

They cover all the angles of possible gain – financial, political, cultural, moral, and even religious. It was never just one motivation – it was ALL OF THEM.

Here is MORE!

April 17, 2017

Buccini/Pollin Group, the Wilmington-based developer and hotel-management company, plans to build 180 “luxury multifamily units” in part of the space formerly occupied by the DuPont Co. on Wilmington’s downtown Rodney Square.

The Buccinis and local partners Chris and Rob Buccini, who are brothers, are ubiquitous in Wilmington, which is struggling to remake itself as DuPont and other big employers leave town.

The brothers say their hotel affiliate will take over operations for the 218-room Hotel du Pont, along with its current staff of 100, plus around 100 current hotel contractors they plan to hire….

https://www.yahoo.com/news/dupont-departs-buccinis-bet-wilmington-062255046.html

hotel-management company? What is that?

If you are a real estate investor looking to buy or build a hotel, you’ll want to explore your management options. In the first place, let’s assume that you are looking for an investment without playing an active management role. In that case, you might want to engage a hotel management company to operate the property on your behalf…

What Does a Hotel Management Company Do?

Hotel management companies operate hotels, managing the process on behalf of the owner. The company shares profits with the owner. Typically, the owner buys or builds the hotel property and then turns it over to the hotel management company. If you like, you may read experts explaining how hotel management companies work.

Responsibilities

The management company assumes all operational responsibilities, including:

  • Running all departments, like maintenance, housekeeping and the front desk.
  • Recruiting, training, managing and terminating employees.
  • Paying employees, vendors and suppliers.
  • Managing revenues. This includes raising or maintaining revenues per available room (RevPAR).
  • Managing operational and capital expenses. Operational expenses include orders to vendors and suppliers. Capital expenses include the purchase of furniture and fixtures.
  • Reporting financial information.
  • Developing and following budgets.
  • Compliance with laws, regulations, customs, and if appropriate, brand standards.
  • Delivering excellent guest experiences and instilling customer loyalty.

And there are other nefarious networks assisting in the various Arkancides occurring. Seems to me that the Klintoons started all this stuff back in Arkansas wayyy back when. Have to wonder what happened and what was in those two planeloads of “Bankers’ Boxes” taken from the Klintoon archives/library/den of iniquity/whatever…

Seems like Satan Incorporated is a one-stop-shop for all these people…

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Was there any “corporate swoop-in” in the aftermath? It’s obviously a very sweet cycle of Democrat corruption to lower prices, drive people out, and then enable corporate gentrification and “district” creation. Dem pols who enable it get a cut – all nice and tidy.

Deplorable Patriot

No, not really. If anything, it went back to being the sleepy blue collar place it was before.

Probably the airport noise. Lambert is due west of Ferguson, and it’s pretty noisy.

Rough translation:

Chorus
My dashing darling is my hero
My dashing darling is my Caesar
I have had neither sleep nor good fortune
Since my dashing darling went far away
x2
I am perpetually worried every day
Wailing heavily and shedding tears
Since my lively boy was released from me
And there is no word of him, alas
Chorus
The pleasure of the cheerful cuckoo at noon is gone
The affable nobility are not bothered with sport
The learned and the cultured are worried and sad
Since the lively lad was taken from me
Chorus
He is like Young Aonghus
Like Lughaidh Mac Chéin of the great blows
Like Cú Raoi, great son of Dáire of the gold
Leader of Éire strong in pursuit
Chorus
Like Conall Cearnach who breached defences
Like worthy fair haired Feargas Mac Róigh
Like Conchubhar venerable son of Nás of the tradition
The pleasant chieftain of the musical [Fenian] Branch
Chorus x2
Since my dashing darling went far away

— of course, we’ve also hopped across the Irish Sea, so it’s not a Scottish drinking song.

It’s a lament for a supporter of Bonnie Prince Charlie — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Edward_Stuart — who was supposed to right the wrongs of the United Kingdom in the years before George III, of the American Revolution fame.

Anonymoushorse said that this is not a theological forum?????

pgroup2

He/She did? Well, it’s not. It’s not limited in its field of view nor is it limited in its basic premises.

It is a front veranda on a country store with several chairs and stools. Also a couple of rockers. And the proverbial pickle barrel. There’s always a few geezers shooting the shit and sucking on their drinks. Sometimes there’s a pinball machine.

Only limits are be cordial and genteel.

Kinda hard when this site is literally a CHURCH! Unlicensed, yes, and kinda like “adopt this old church, neighbors, or the city is gonna tear it down”, but yes. Church money is used to keep it up, for FREEDOM OF RELIGIOUS EXPRESSION ONLINE!!!

cthulhu

The Salvation Army is actually a church.

Their mission is to go into where the sinners are and save souls. They are not so foolish to suppose this is safe. The red buckets and bell-ringing at Macy’s are the pretty side; soup kitchens on skid row and disaster relief are the medium side; but they also go where things are ugly.

Gail Combs

I am an agnostic and Hubby is an Atheist. The Salvation Army is the ONLY charity we will donate to.

grandmaintexas

I rely on your smarts here. ❤

Gail Combs

Thank you. Both Hubby and I have great respect for the Bible and Christianity. The philosophy underlying Christianity is WHY we have Western Civilization.

Gingersmom2009

Music has always been a big part of their church mission. Salvationists compose some of the greatest music for brass band, and The New York Staff Band is one of the premier bands in the world. Philip Smith, principal trumpet with the NYPhil for 30-something years, is a Salvationist. (Brass banding, along with church music, is big in our family. Cannot say more and remain
incognito 😉 .) Here’s Phil Smith with the NYSB.

I agree that we should be able to air our beliefs even though there will be disagreements. (Won’t be the first time) But on the other hand, someone may learn something new. I see this place as a gathering of individuals with different likes, beliefs and ways of speech. (Kind of like a Banned) Not all members of the banned like every song performed, but do it anyway without too much hassle. We are commanded by God to testify to that which he has done for us and/or taught us, even if others disagree.

I was just pointing out an attack on a comment I made a day or two ago.

Deplorable Patriot

All I did was post a reading from the Gospel According to St. John.

Granted, that specific paragraph is almost solid theology, but the boss never said I can’t.

Please don’t stop! I for one really appreciate it and I know many others do as well.

That’s the worst thing a girl can hear from her plastic surgeon.

cthulhu

My sister had a roommate in college. I had previously heard that she had cosmetic breast surgery, and finally got around to meeting her. She was nice, and we exchanged pleasantries, but I silently thought “well, she needn’t have bothered, she’d look better with less.”

About a week later, I found out that her surgery had been breast-reduction surgery, and that she’d originally planned to take off 2/3, but chickened-out at the last minute and only took off half.

I cannot begin to imagine the physical and psychological pain she must have constantly experienced before her surgery.

patfrederick

it’s hard on the upper back…trust me

cthulhu

I have long maintained that there is a certain attraction towards and fondness for breasts encoded in our genome — because for a thousands of years, the lack of such would have their progeny starve. I truly believe it’s down in the ROM somewhere.

But this young lady developed early, got a lot, and kept on going — which lead to a lot of unwelcome attention from pervs and fetishists before she was in any position to have wholesome relationships.

And I have known a lot of ladies who had upper back problems….and they were structured like this girl AFTER surgery. I never saw her before surgery, but her physical issues would have to have been severe — upper, lower back, probably gait, ability to rotate, balance, flexibility…..

I suspect I would have concurred with her surgeon when he recommended 2/3……but can very much sympathize with her decision to go with half. When you’ve had to haul that around for so long and had it shape your life, you are cautious about massive changes. Even with the pain it causes you daily.

patfrederick

my eyes are up here…

cthulhu

I’ve always been more concerned with seeing a smile.

It’s helpful if the “training” for foundation garments is kept to a minimum. Trust me. I spent so much time on a pool deck in my teen years in tank suits that the muscles developed to the point that the pain is minimized.

Yes, the garment industry strikes again. They want us enslaved to their compression garments.

pgroup2

I’d settle for being enslaved to girls in tank tops.

That is a very good question, especially with the responses that the Wolf provided.

The latest “Mariel Boatlift” from American prisons into American society has proven that imprisonment is not enough. Bradley Manning is another example of such custodial malfeasance.

If it is going to be asserted that substantial prison terms are equivalent to execution, and partisan impulses used to release those with substantial prison terms every change in administration……then such assertion is a lie.

Gail Combs

How about the Head of BLM?

CONVICTED TERRORIST PARDONED BY CLINTON RUNS BLM FUNDRAISING

It was recently revealed that a board member of a Black Lives Matter affiliated organization in charge of the tens of millions of dollars raised by the organization is a convicted terrorist that was pardoned by the Clinton administration.

Susan Rosenberg is often described as an American activist, writer, and advocate for social justice and prisoners’ rights. From the late 1970s into the mid-1980s, Rosenberg was active in the far-left revolutionary terrorist May 19th Communist Organization (“M19CO”), which according to a contemporaneous FBI report “openly advocate[d] the overthrow of the U.S. Government through armed struggle and the use of violence.”M19CO provided support to an offshoot of the Black Liberation Army, including in armored truck robberies, and later engaged in bombings of government buildings.

Rosenberg was arrested in 1984 while unloading from her car and into a New Jersey storage unit hundreds of pounds of dynamite along with weapons, including a sub-machine gun. She had also been sought as an accomplice in the 1979 prison escape of Assata Shakur and in the 1981 Brink’s robbery that resulted in the deaths of two police and a guard], although she was never charged in either case, opting for a plea deal instead.

Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years’ imprisonment on the weapons and explosives charges. She spent 16 years in prison. Her sentence was commuted to time served by President Bill Clinton in 2001 on his final day in office.

Gail Combs

You need four things.

  1. The MASTERMINDS/PUPPETMASTERS and prominent puppets TRIED and EXECUTED!
  2. ALL FUNDING STREAMS CUT.
  3. BORDERS CLOSED & ILLEGALS TOSSED OUT
  4. ANCHOR BABIES & RAPUGEES TOSSED OUT.
  5. H1B VISAS ENDED

Watch the crime rate drop like a rock.

Non-citizens accounted for 24 percent of all federal drug arrests, 25 percent of all federal property arrests, and 28 percent of all federal fraud arrests.

Gingersmom2009

The “non-anchor babies” will still be mowing each other down, all day every day, in every urban area in this country. Looking for any excuse to pillage. And more handouts. Some have woken up over the past four years, but that number is minuscule. I don’t claim to have a solution, there are too many Ruby Freemans.

Just hand that part of the problem to Rudy Guliani and Dr Ben Carson.

If you REMOVE the $$$ funding the decay, improve the schools, offer training and business incentives, I think you will see a big difference.

Also do a MASSIVE REVAMP OF WELFARE, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 STOP PAYING UNWED MOMS FOR HAVING BABIES!!

Gingersmom2009

I taught for 25 years in one of those districts. 22 out of the 25 in a school that might have had 6 white kids out of 500+. The building was old-ish, but the kids lacked for NOTHING. And I mean all supplies provided, laptops, jumbotrons in every room, 2 free meals a day, all manner of after school everything, counselors, mentors AND a sharp, caring staff.

What was lacking? Horses that want the drink. Everyone was lead to the water – daily.

While I’m at it, I’m going to mention how badly Parler sucks. I log on after a long absence – I have NO FEED. I have tons of follows and NO FEED. WTH!!!

bflyjesusgrl 🍊 😎NUCLEAR MAGA😎

GRR!! No Feed SUCKS. AND….if you scroll down and retweet something, it bounces you back to the TOP of the damn feed, EVERY TIME. Then you have to scroll back down again. It’s so annoying, I can’t use.

suzyqster58

I can’t get on parler ,havnt been able for over a month.so I go to gab or twit.

Gail Combs

Did you have to provide a phone number and other self-Doxxing info to get on Parler?

To me it STINKS of a GOPe set-up to corral real conservatives for censoring now (You can not see post if not member) and later ID by the Commies.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I joined long ago from the DESKTOP WEBSITE, which did not need a phone number to join. When I log in now, they try to get me to add a phone number, but I can click “Skip” and bypass it if I want.

I believe that on the phone app, they want the phone number so that they can do SMS verifications, etc., but personally I think it’s better if they don’t force people.

Gab is now touting its LACK of a phone app as a security bonus, because the web interface has much less access to your data. No phone number required – I don’t even know if it’s an option. People just come in through the web interface and it’s as anonymous as a desktop.

Gingersmom2009

I deleted my Parler, after that dust-up between CM and Bongino.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

OMG! I just opened up a package our son sent, it had headphones in it. I haven’t used headphones in years because I lost about 70% of hearing in my right ear due to flu maybe 20 years ago. My hearing has improved some over the years, but I thought what the heck, I’ll give them a go. Listened to the Gallic song Wolf posted, and I could hear all the notes with my bad ear. ALL the notes. I’ve been missing tones. They are faint now, but I can hear them! Had to listen to one of my daughter’s songs too, could hear all the notes and the words, again they are faint but I can hear them. So grateful, an unexpected blessing! Tears of joy, and I cry but rarely!!

gil00

Thats a gift that keeps giving!

cthulhu

What a wonderful surprise!!!

If you’ve got a budding mad scientist around, you could adjust the relative volume and equalization of each ear so that you’d hear things closer to the way they’re supposed to sound, in stereo.

But it is truly a blessing of the Season to have been given so much…..in such a small package.

jamcooker

It surely is. A big uplifting of spirit as well, and good encouragement for DH who’s got some nerve damage in his one foot. The Lord does work in mysterious ways.

By far the BEST news of the Season! So thrilled for you, jamcooker, and what a wonderful son you have.

2020…I know its a trivial thing but its purge time. Way too much stuff in every space. I spent hours trying to get Christmas put away which led to needing another bin which led to having to go through all of kiddos preK, K, and 1st school papers to save just the best. Now ive got to go though all the crafting stuff, then kitchen, then clothing….then donate what isnt tossed.
I dont think ill finish by monday when we start school again.
The world outside is in such disarray, I need my house in 2021 to be calm, cozy, and clear.

I have a donate pile sitting in my living room. I don’t know if the store that I like to donate to is open or not. The pile keeps getting a little bigger.

patfrederick

I have a friend who flea markets…I throw very little out…I save it all for her. some things she sells for 50 cents…but she takes everything…gratefully.
and we get to visit when she comes to pick things up! BONUS!

Teagan

That’s definitely been one of the “silver linings” of this stay at home mess. My friends tell me they’ve never had such organized closets!
I used to say, I need a snowed-in period of a couple of weeks to sort, toss and organize…and here it is (sans snow.).
In addition to lots of give away piles, going through hundreds of recipe files, cookbooks, etc. I am in a quest to pass along family “treasures” to the younger generation. Nothing very valuable, but several generations old and has sentimental value….I hope. A hand stitched quilt my grandmother made in the 50’s, a couple of Xmas craft items my mother made in the 70’s, a cookie jar that was a wedding present. For my parents, etc. etc. … it’s time to pass them on, after deciding who will continue to treasure them. But it also involves wrapping and shipping and becomes a task too easy to just postpone.
No excuses now…needs to be done.

gil00

Thats really nice of you.
