We had a local place almost within walking distance that ALWAYS had fried catfish on Fridays. Southern fried catfish and hush puppies…It was drool worthy. Unfortunately Granny’s long gone and the place has been sold.
The guy over our back fence (now passed) had run a very popular local restaurant called “By-The-Bucket”. I didn’t talk to him nearly enough, but he told me of how he’d met-up-with the original catfish evangelist, and how his “secret recipe” involved mostly Lawry’s seasoning and breading. He talked about how he built the (then-current) restaurant in the parking lot of the original restaurant, then built a new parking lot over the old restaurant. He told me of the strategic advantage he started with in large cold rooms.
He sold out to an employee group and the place subsequently burned down and he died.

That story has never really made it out of conspiracy lore, but there are actual court documents to back it.

Normally, I would agree, but in this case, I’m afraid no. Vince Foster was with Wanta in Geneva when he went to go get into one of the accounts there where U.S. taxpayer money is/was (it’s unclear if the gold has been truly repatriated), and Wanta was arrested and thrown in a Swiss dungeon for fourteen weeks. Foster was found dead the next week. Wanta was finally released after the PM of Israel sent a cryptic note obviously in some sort of code to Swiss authorities.
The truth is a lot stranger than fiction in this case.

When I was 15 years old (and a Junior in High School), my mom decided we should have a talk.
Just as an aside, my mom is pretty much the smartest person I know. After I took the CPA exam for the first time and didn’t pass all the parts, she decided to take it and passed all of them…..so when I finally completed the remaining parts, I was the 2nd person in the family to have passed the exam. That’s after being a Professor of Mathematics. She is scary smart.
Fortunately, I was an avid reader when I was young, and had encountered a particular aphorism from Robert A. Heinlein: “The slickest way to lie is to tell just enough of the truth, then SHUT UP.”
So when my mom wanted to have a talk, I went in with shields up.
She opened with “how would you like to go to Europe this summer?”
I got up, brushed some sawdust off my back, and replied, “that sounds GREAT!!! When do we leave?”
And she said, “oh, no, not me — dirty, filthy place — there’s a college group going, and I’ll be sending you with them.”
I got up again, brushed a bunch of sawdust off my back, and said I was all-in…..

It was a 30-day tour with a certain “if this is Tuesday, it must be Belgium” feel to it, but we spent the last six days or so in London. When we got there, we were in a big line at the hotel to get passports registered, paperwork filled out, keys issued, and the like. When I got up to the desk I had a stack of documents, but I asked if the clerk would first do something for me. Mind you, I was the youngest in a group of almost 30 and had an odd, goofy grin which managed to slip me past the omnipresent British “not my job”.
So she said, “what?” and I slipped a piece of paper across the counter. I asked, “how do you say this?”
Near as I can remember, it went something like “woorsterscher.”
That’s what I was taught, too – although in the local accent it came out more like “worstersher”.
I never knew how it was pronounced, but when I looked it up years ago the dictionary did not pronounce the first “r”:

I think it’s from before standard pronunciation — the first r is almost a modification of how you come off the vowel than being an actual consonant. Almost “woo-ah-shter”.
And, of course, I was asking someone in central London. Worcester is a real city, between Gloucester and Birmingham on S/N, and between Hereford and Coventry W/E. Worcestershire is the countryside around that city……and who knows how THEY pronounce it?
But it’s a heckuva lot closer than trying to sound it out on an American grocery store shelf.
That pronounciation is the correct one from what I’ve learned. I’ve been visiting two of those towns, Leicester and Worcester.
Those places with names ending in -cester have a lot of silent letters in them. Leicester is pronounced Lester, Worcester is Wooster, and Gloucester is Gloster. Then the associated shires get the -sher or -sheer endings as indicated.
The suffix -cester comes from castle.
Similar to Woolwich and Greenwich. The “w” is silent (before the ich)…
I should also note that my dog at the time was named “Lümpe”, and she was quite a rascal.

Those are lovely lovely birds. They are dual purpose and are friendly. A great choice for backyard farmers. The other chicken I really like is Silkies. They are the sweetest birds and even the roosters will set on anything like an egg. Farmers often keep them for hatching out birds that are not very good moms.

Their feathers are not held together like a normal bird’s. All their feathers are like down.

The only problem I know people have run into with the “funny” chickens is sometimes the “normies” will harass and even hurt them, if they are the minority. I love the Polish breed, but have known several people who had one or two in with a flock, and the other chickens plucked them bald!
I have had Silkies and they got along great with all the other chickens. Not different enough to be picked on, I guess.
Chickens are hilarious, but they really can be like a freakin’ pack of velociraptors!
Then there are Rhode Island Reds Those are NASTY birds.
I got chased by a Rhody rooster when I was little. The thing was almost as big as me! I don’t have ANY red chickens. I have a phobia!
When I was 3 and my brother 4, my mom shot one of those with a shotgun at my gramma’s house because she had begged my dad to do something with it before we were hurt badly (it would jump onto our heads).
Dad came in from work, saw it where she had left it on the lawn, disposed of it. As the story goes, they never spoke of it. It’s the only time my mother ever shot anything.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

There’s been a lot of information and new developments dripping out slowly pertaining to the US DoD funded biolabs in Ukrainian. Let’s do a quick summary of how it started, how we got to where we are now, and what is likely coming down the pipe.
Started on the night of February 24th, immediately after Russia begin calculated missile strikes in Ukraine. I didn’t know this would happen nor did I believe Putin would move into Ukraine. However, I knew the narrative we were being told was a lie, so naturally I began to dig. None of the airstrikes made sense. Maybe 3 hours into the strikes I recognized they were targeting central and western Ukraine, not just the East, which we were told was the area in question. I began poking around, found a map of US Biolabs in Ukraine, found the US embassy page with the Biological Threat Reduction Program in Ukraine, and I pieced it all together in a thread that went viral. I was quickly banned by Twitter, but not before the thread and discovery spanned the globe in the wee hours of the morning.
To be clear, I’m not the first person to be onto the labs in Ukraine, investigative journalists George Webb and Dilyana Gaytandzhieva have been talking about these for years, I’m just the guy in America who put it in a thread in a small and digestible manor, suggesting Putin was moving into Ukraine specifically due to the allegations of US bioweapons production near their borders.
My thread and myself have since been cited and smeared by:

Probably more. Every single left wing media branch are saying these findings are all “Qanon, Russian Propaganda, Conspiracy Theories”, etc etc. despite me never citing or quoting Q, nor did any of my information come for Russia, nor was it ever a theory.
Shortly after, Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland admitted in sworn testimony before Congress, stated that the US does have biolabs in Ukraine and they are deeply concerned Russia will get their hands on our research.
At this point, mainstream right wing media was given the green light to talk about the biolabs. Segments from Jesse Watters, Dan Bongino, Tucker Carlson, Maria Bartiromo, Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, etc. All admitted they thought this was a kooky conspiracy theory, but now they are all on board.

So now what? Now we are waiting on further action from the UN, the result of the peace talks in Ukraine, more evidence of biological weapons that Russia claims they found, and the next saga of this war in which China intends to move into Taiwan; another location with a peculiar amount of US funded biolab activity.
Where does this end? It ends with the BIG secret being exposed, that C19 was a US NIH creation that leaked from a DoD funded lab in Wuhan, China. Whether it was created then transported there, or created on site, I cannot confirm, but based on the emails declassified by Congress via the FOIA, we see the NIH knew it was a created experiment that leaked from Wuhan, and they tried to cover that up as well.
What are the consequences? Crimes against humanity, and the invoking of Articles V and VI of the Biological Weapons Convention, resulting in multi-lateral investigation into the US lead by the UN Security Council. And if incontrovertible evidence were to be brought forth, as Russia and China suggests, there will likely be trials via International Military Tribunals, composed of military judges and prosecution teams from multiple countries, see Nuremberg.
Does this all happen? I’m not sure. But if it doesn’t happen, we don’t have international laws and we don’t have diplomacy. IT HAS TO HAPPEN. The US MUST be held accountable. I don’t know what more evidence we need to bring forth, other than C19 and the effect it had on the world.
What WILL happen? The US media complex and establishment politicians will continue to lie and deny anything and everything in an attempt to cover their asses. And We the People will continue to fight until those responsible are held accountable for these heinous crimes. We will demand the ultimate punishment, and put in place failsafes, to ensure these activities never happen again.

UTC would be pointless if not worse for everyday applications, for the reasons I have already given.
UTC is great for recording unambigous time of some event — a few years ago we had an earthquake occurring at something like 0215 local time, during that night in the fall when the clocks fall back, and thus there were two moments that night that would be identified as 0215. So when did this actually happen? UTC to the rescue.
And UTC is useful to indicate when some meeting is to start, then re-calculate that to whatever it corresponds to in the local timezone.
But for civil local time… not really. Outside of Europe it has the rather inconvenient feature, that the date and the day of the week changes during daylight hours, as the clock rolls over from 2359 to 0000.
Also, let’s imagine I have to talk to someone in Japan, and right now it’s 1400 UTC. (That’s 7AM standard time by my current reckoning.) Knowing that his clock reads 1400 just like mine does, how do I know whether the guy is even out of bed yet? Or whether he’s about to go to bed?
If I can just look up what time it is in Japan–in fact if I deal with Japan a LOT I might even have the delta memorized–by the current time zone scheme, I can get a good idea. But if all I know is it’s 1400 UTC, that’s worthless info; I gotta go look up his business hours expressed in UTC.
It’s batshit stupid to have everyone use UTC for anything other than purely technical matters.
If you have to arrange a conference call with your group in Japan and your group in the Netherlands, you could just say, “how does 2100 UTC work for you guys?” From Silicon Valley, those places are typically 8 hours plus and 8 hours minus, so someone has to come in early and someone will have to stay late.
Then you wouldn’t have to worry about who is on which daylight savings time. And you could always do that “multiple clocks on the wall” dealio.
So…what’s the net gain having to go through this goat rope versus just knowing he’s ten hours behind (as far as time of day goes; this omits date line considerations)…versus having the day change on you just about sunset (here in the States) or at breakfast time (in Asia)?
The reason we have time zones is a damn good one: People want noon and midnight to fucking mean something, they want the time on the clock to bear some kind of resemblance to what they see when they look out the window, and they want the date to change in the middle of the night.
