(I’d like to add, I find it entirely plausible, even likely, that His Fraudulency is also His Figureheadedness. (Apparently that wasn’t a word; it got a red underline. Well it is now.) Where I differ with the hopium addicts is on the subject of who is really in charge. It ain’t anyone we like.)

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.
Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.

We saw it here. It was weird. Like the whole sky was a big umbrella, with the apex straight up above me, and lightly colored “rain” running down to the horizon in every direction. Very strange.

Our youngest granddaughter is getting dedicated at our oldest son’s church on Sunday & then his MIL is inviting the gang to her lovely home for a Mother’s Day meal since so many of us will be gathering & she’s got a lot of space in her place. It will probably be a long but hopefully enjoyable day.
My husband has been busy on multiple car repairs on his vehicle, he’s got 3 wheels off of it currently as he works his way through bearings, tie rods, controller arms, brakes, & some type of steering package. If the weather holds he hopes to make good headway. He’s also planning to smoke up a couple racks of ribs for us, while he’s in the backyard so much, & to share with my dad who’s birthday is also this weekend.
Busy times.
BTW, we both checked for Northern Lights last night/early this morning but have no visibility of them w/ a pretty heavy overcast. The ones I saw years ago, also in Metro Detroit, were the green kind. Most of the ones I’ve seen in Northern Michigan are the white, wispy kind. When I was a young kid my dad took me out of the Cottage on his shoulders to see the Lights & they were red, white, & blue, I believe. I’ve never seen them since with such pretty colors so I treasure that memory.
The ones I saw in Detroit years ago, looked a bit like this, though slightly less dramatic, of undulating curtains of ethereal green light mostly:
The last few times that I’ve seen them in Northern Michigan they were more like this, though wispier & just white, fingers of light appearing & disappearing with ghostly elusiveness. Most recently when we were watching them over the lake my son Josiah started singing praise songs to the Lord & it was very moving 🙂

Our firefighter/EMT son stopped by Saturday & said that he was on duty on Friday & kept looking for the Northern Lights throughout the night & never saw any. He said that “no one in Detroit saw any” Lights. I thought that maybe Hubby & I looked too late but perhaps it wouldn’t have mattered when we tried.
I’ve looked several times this evening into the night but so far haven’t seen the Aurora late Saturday into early Sunday. I’ll check again next time I let the dog out.

A Southern California man has been arrested in Gilbert in connection to a popular fraudulent gift card scheme.(MCSO)
According to court documents obtained by Arizona’s Family, workers at the Fry’s Food Store off Pecos and Higley roads called Gilbert police just after 1 p.m. on Thursday to report that a man who did not work at the store appeared to have been “restocking gift cards.”
Documents say officers arrived and found the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Chuandao Yu, who immediately handed authorities a box full of gift cards.
After being handcuffed, police searched his vehicle and reportedly found a box filled with gift cards from various stores. In total, authorities say more than 2,000 cards were seized.
Court papers say the surveillance video reviewed by detectives showed Yu putting dozens of cards back onto store shelves and that upon checking, each card had been tampered with.
Arizona’s Family has previously reported on gift card cloning scams, which have been one of the state attorney general’s top priorities.
“This is a huge problem,” Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes told On Your Side earlier this year. “They’re literally taking the cards off the shelf. They’re going and cloning the cards, and putting them back on the shelf, and once someone buys the card, at that moment, it gets drained of the money.”
Court papers say Yu had previously been arrested for fraud in Florida and refused to answer any questions without a lawyer present while in Gilbert PD custody.
Yu now faces 65 felony counts of forgery and is held in the Maricopa County jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

The beauty of home schooling is the parents get to choose the curriculum used within state’s requirements for the subjects that must be taught. There are also parental controls provided with most of them. Our family uses the highly rated, secular Time4learning (T4L), but have the option to opt out for subjects in other curriculums or in the offending segments within T4L. There are a handful of offensive woke segments that we have modified in Social Studies and Language Arts.
Example: In 4th grade Social Studies over half of all American music was attributed to African Americans. They deserve some credit, but no more than any other other grouping of people. So we modified and added much of the other American music the curriculum left out. We could have chosen a parental override to ignore it all, but what was provided was a decent presentation, so we supplemented. We actually like the structure and presentations of subjects in T4L. Grandson has done well with it as his curriculum. Very user friendly for students and parents.
The Language Arts has a chapter on poetry, however, they only provide African American poetry. The content was well done, but limited to only AA. So we supplemented with poetry from other groupings of people. This included my paternal grandmother’s works, who was a published poet in Who’s Who in American Poetry from her era. So he received a more balanced presentation.
We added a separate Bible based subject from a different source as an elective.
Without being exposed to other aspects of woke public schools, Grandson #1 is now excelling and well adjusted as a person. No more exposure to Taylor Swift dominated subjects, trans questions, racism promotion, profanity or lewd comments/acts, etc. All of these are present even in primary/elementary public schools today. Grandson #2 will be exiting primary school in third grade, he is finishing first grade now. The F-bombs, bullying and sexual deviancy overtones have already started amongst those students.
I don’t understand why you would compel #2 to endure another year of pubic school [no misspelling]. I feel sorry for him already.
Parenting at the edge of communism is hard. Been there – done that. It’s like a war, where family impact in its totality has to be evaluated. Sacrifices are made. Complex calculations are required. Next year’s public teacher may be a good one. I bought an extra year in a bad district with a good teacher (she hid patriotic books in the drawers). The following year, though, we got a lefty lemon, and it took that year to MOVE. And then the new district only bought us two more good years until communism caught up again, and we bailed into home schooling, which was possible at that age without job changes.

To summarize: Daughter has limited time with a new baby she is nursing. I am already handling two of the four required subjects for #1. Daughter and SIL handle the other two required subjects. Wifey is handling the elective and cursive writing instruction.
#2 needs more social development with other kids his age and that environment is still better controlled than third grade. He is brilliant – school is a bit boring to him, but he needs to learn how to get along with others better. His dad is in law enforcement and made a “visit” to school to see the administration about what he knows and has learned from #2.
Daughter will be in better position to handle #1 and #2 for homeschool after next year once their baby is weaned.

Just this week I was talking to my physician about how he was schooling his four pre-college children. The youngest 3 are in public schools but the oldest (now in high school) is being home schooled by the child’s mother. When I asked what curriculum had been chosen, he mentioned a name I did not know. It was called Walden or Walton, or Waldorf. I had never heard of it. Maybe some of you here know of it.

I believe Waldorf is the one. I think I remember he said it was out of Germany.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

I wish I could see it. For some reason, I cannot get any twitter video to play at all. It has something to do with an update I received from my Linux distro. I was able (after some work) to get Youtube back, and VLC now works for DVDs and videos stored locally, but twitter won’t play.

I was in a group on an email list, people who’d get together and do strategy games (old school, the ones on boards you’d physically gather around). One of the guys made some sort of ooh-aah comment about that year’s favorite celeb with WGTTs, another responded in kind…and one woman went on an absolute TIRADE about how no one would pay attention to HER. All 350 lbs of her. (And this was LONG before there was any kind of organized movement to destigmatize land whales.)
Now, one of the other women in the group was basically the same size and shape but DID have a happy personality, but the shrieker was unpleasant down to the bone.
Although I had had nothing to do with the conversation, I asked to be removed from the list. I wasn’t going to subject myself to THAT.
It appears to me you are living an examined life.
I would have had so much fun with that scenario… I honestly don’t think I could have resisted… I’m sure of it… it’s too much fun not to! 😂 🤣 😂
Nutcases NEED to be smacked down.
Secretly, I think most of them want to be smacked down. They’re just testing, to see what they can get away with. If no one smacks them down or calls them out, then they keep pushing the envelope until someone does.
This is literally how the group of friends I grew up with kept each other in check. It’s what we did, all the time 😂
Smacking nutcases down is the only way to preserve a cohesive shared reality. If everyone just resigns and retreats to their own corner, then the lunatics determine what the shared reality will be.
And we all see how that turned out.
Think of it like the old Whack-a-Mole game.
When they pop their heads up and say something crazy, you whack ’em.
Mock, interrogate, challenge, etc., whatever works best in response to what they’ve actually said. If what they have said is just foolish idiocy, then mockery or derision usually works, and the others will follow your lead, once they see it’s safe.
If what they have said is irrational, question them in such a way that clearly exposes that irrationality to everyone else, and then mock. The others will follow, when they see it’s safe.
If what they have said opens themselves up to challenging them to prove it, then do that — and when they can’t, mock. The others will follow.
The fact that it’s so much fun is just bonus motivation 😁
I would have had to tread very carefully. The leader of that group was the other overweight woman (the one with the good personality); anything I said would have to have been very carefully worded to not also be insulting to her.
That long ago I wasn’t up to it. I was able to make my stated reason for departing the shrieker’s personality, but I couldn’t come out and say that she was full of shit and unable to attract men because she was grossly overweight.

I remember that, during the Dungeons & Dragons role playing games era, there was a store at a nearby strip mall that was basically just an open room, with card tables set up, and there were people (adults) standing around every table, playing those games.
We went to the mall for the video arcade nearby.
We played D&D within our group of friends, but it never occurred to us to go somewhere public and play against adults. They seemed to take it very seriously.
We took it less seriously. Sort of like Monty Hall / Mad Magazine Dungeons & Dragons 😂
Whoever was Dungeon Master would always go off script, the more outrageous (and therefore hilarious) the better.
Now that I think of it, we had a lot of laughs that most people playing Dungeons and Dragons didn’t get to experience 😂🤣😂
Though I was in a D&D group in college and the years afterwards, this is a different sort of thing, these are board games, sometimes with very complicated rules. (Though generally people who do one do both.)
My Son-In-Law plays D & D but I think it is online w/ long-distance friends. Some of these people came to MI for their wedding, & that might have been the First Time they were physically in the same place. I had college friends that played D & D but I never have (yet).
There was (and probably still is) a lot of fuss from certain quarters about how D&D is satanic. Enough so that I’m surprised no one here has brought it up in earnest.
I had heard that back in the day, fwiw. I frankly don’t know. I checked out a young adult illustrated book that went over many of the “typical” D & D characters & some of the “realms” (if that’s the right word), & I could see how aspects of how the game Could be played might make some Christians uncomfortable, however.
In that game you play a role. Sometimes you might even have a conversation “in character” with the other players, about what to do about the situation. (How strictly that’s enforced differs from group to group.)
However, everyone knows it’s fictional. Yes, your character likely worships some sort of pagan god. And some of them are even priests of those gods (you actually want these people around because they heal wounds). All of those gods are “real” in the game. (The Norse gods are far more popular than the Greek ones, in this context.)
I imagine that to ensure it’s unambiguously fiction to everyone, they did not bring “the” God into the game.
The game is largely based on Lord of the Rings, and there are elves, dwarves, hobbits (called “halflings” for copyright reasons), and gnomes. You can even play a character who is one of these races, instead of a human; there are pluses and minuses to doing so.
(Note anything I might say has to do with “Advanced Dungeons And Dragons” which was officially superseded by the 2nd Edition sometime in the 1990s.)
It sounds rather fascinating. I tried to engage my SIL on the topic, after reading that book (I think I’d brought it to their house on one of my babysitting jaunts, so it was on my mind) but he didn’t seem to want to discuss it much w/ me. Generation gap, or perhaps philosophical gap. He was raised by pretty lefty parents who came to Christ pretty late in life & didn’t have a more defined biblical worldview foundation like the one we attempted to instill in our kids. I think he thinks I’m a rather Conservative Christian Conspiracy Theorist/nut-job, as least based on previous covid &/or cultural/political conversations…sigh…
My husband doesn’t really enjoy playing games very much so it’s unlikely he’d Ever want to play D & D. Plus he had some very negative “darkness” encounters in the spirit world when a young Christian so would likely never want to veer anywhere near where that “line” might be…
My daughter has played some D & D w/ her husband, may have been her boyfriend or fiance at the time, but she’s not really into it.
I expect I’d enjoy the imaginative side of it & the creativity & perhaps out-of-the-box thinking it promotes. However, the learning curve might be prohibitive, especially if no-one in my “circle” would want to play w/ me 🙂
Have to find the D & D AI tutor & “safe” online competitors that can put up w/ newbieness 🙂
The thing about classic D&D (own white box set + Chainmail), is it’s more like improvisational theater than a regular game. You would better prepare for it by watching “Whose Line Is It?” reruns than playing board games.
Improv is practically my family’s middle name! We’ve actually pulled off some of the Whose Line games at family gatherings. My daughter was just starting to attend an Improv Group before covid crimes made her leave college for she couldn’t do distance learning w/ ADHD.
