This Is How The Senate Voted On The Budget Bill

This is a quick one, and just to put up a list here of the way the Senate voted on the budget bill that is a really tough pill to swallow even if a lot of the provisions expire in six months.
The truth is that a majority of Republican Senators voted FOR the bill, joining most Democrats, thus making the bill veto proof, at least in the Senate.
Here’s the NAY list, the ones voting against:
Braun (R-IN), Nay
Cotton (R-AR), Nay
Cruz (R-TX), Nay
Hawley (R-MO), Nay
Inhofe (R-OK), Nay
Lee (R-UT), Nay
Paul (R-KY), Nay
Rubio (R-FL), Nay
Sasse (R-NE), Nay
Scott (R-SC), Nay
Toomey (R-PA), Nay
Dems who voted no
Booker (D-NJ), Nay
Gillibrand (D-NY), Nay
Harris (D-CA), Nay
Warren (D-MA), Nay
Markey (D-MA), Nay
Why five Democrats joined is anyone’s guess, and there is a possibility that a few of the more swampy Republicans are eyeing the 2020 election. But still….
Here are the Republicans who, well, aren’t paying attention to public opinion polls:
Alexander (R-TN), Yea
Barrasso (R-WY), Yea
Blackburn (R-TN), Yea
Blunt (R-MO), Yea
Boozman (R-AR), Yea
Brown (D-OH), Yea
Capito (R-WV), Yea

Good stuff Thank you. Very interesting.

singingsoul

Thank you for posting this information.
Good to now who voted for the bill. I noticed two from OH spicily Portman who I will never vote for again.
He used to be conservative and then became more liberal after his son came out.

GA/FL

In the House, Dan Crenshaw voted against the funding bill.

GA/FL

Neither did my Congressman:

GA/FL

DHS Secretary Nielsen on Budget Bill and National Emergency declaration:

GA/FL

QUOTE:
“Finally, the bill funds the Coast Guard’s Polar Security Cutter, increases important funding for the newly created Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and provides funding for 200 computed tomography machines that will help our dedicated TSA employees keep our skies safe.
“But the legislation doesn’t provide everything we need, and it gets nowhere close to completely solving the serious humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border. Time and again, Congress has failed to fully fund DHS to confront this situation and to handle the influx of aliens, drugs, and other illicit traffic into our country. That is why I strongly support the President’s decision to unlock additional funding for physical barriers, including resources from the Department of Treasury and the Department of Defense. Moreover, I applaud the President’s decision to declare a national emergency. This is a crisis—pure and simple—and we need to respond accordingly. We cannot standby as our border security is further compromised and our immigration laws are exploited. Now is the time to act and to uphold our fundamental responsibility to our citizens and our nation to safeguard U.S. territory.”

SingularZoe

I cannot help wondering if some who voted for this bill would have voted against it had Trump put up strong opposition, but maybe thatis wishful thinking on my part. So much deception over this horrible bill.

Linda

Did you notice that most of the dems who voted no are running against POTUS in 2020?

Roberta

Yup. Optics? More “protection” from the “I am a candidate, you can’t retaliate against me?” Curious.

drillerelite

I’m glad that Ken Buck is my rep but it sure doesn’t help that there’s so many Rinos undermining our Republic (ironic). Cory Gardner, I’ll have to vote for you but good luck getting reelected 🙄
How many Republicans quit last year leaving their seats open for democrats to take over? Treacherous! Thank the Lord we have Trump fighting but he still has very few allies up there.I’m pretty sure he has at least 50+% of the American people with him already so 2020 should be good to go. May the Great Awakening come and add even more to our numbers.comment imagecomment image

McConnell voted Yea…
traded his Nay vote for support on National Emergency?
Pundits are saying a high number of GOP did not want National Emergency declared.
We have to face facts… A very high percentage in Congress do not want a wall.
They are all being pressured by the Cabal, offered $$$ or blackmailed.
The very people who profit from the crimes enabled by open borders make huge contributions. The minute a Representative gets elected to Congress, they start running for re-election They pass the legislation the corporations give them.
Senators are not much better… All of them are virtually middle men… controlled by DeepState/Cabal.
We made some inroads in election of 2018, got a few good people in… but what happens when they are pressured, wined and dined, etc.????
Our expectations are really too high with respect to what President Trump can do. He’s only had 2 years and already created miracles. But American people have to start showing our support.

michaelh

Where do these congress-critters get their money from?
Wall is bigger than you know.

Hmmm…..I am beginning to hope I will be eating a LOT of crow pie…….WH has put out a statement and, IMO, it is a doozy! Basically telling them, so what – I will follow the Constitution and my authority under the Constitution.
“These are impermissible forms of congressional aggrandizement in the execution of the laws other than by the enactment of statutes. My Administration will make appropriate efforts to notify the relevant committees before taking the specified actions and will accord the recommendations of such committees all appropriate and serious consideration, but it will not treat spending decisions as dependent on the approval of congressional committees.”

coosmama

Like the President’s statement, not you having to eat crow…….

para59r

And the better part of that is his cabinet is solidly behind him in declaring that this is an emergency. These things make the dems look so weak when they try to call out the president’s motivation for the wall, saying the wall is for him.

I appreciate you sharing the list. I agree with singularjoe that the Republicans were made aware in advance by McConnell that the President was going to sign the bill in return for McConnell’s support on the National Emergency. This freed the Republicans in the Senate up to support it. With that being said, I give them a pass. Getting McConnell’s support for the National Emergency was HUGE for our President.
The Democrats that voted against it other than Markey did so because they are running and don’t want their crazies thinking they are associated with funding the Wall. Many of them over the next few days will say that if elected, they will tear down the Wall.
They truly are the gift that keeps on giving!

From the article linked above:
That ‘amnesty’ claim is based on section 224 of the budget — which appears, on first glance, to block the deportation of many people who are illegally in the U.S.
That’s because it states that no funds may be used to detain or deport any “sponsor” or “potential sponsor” of an “unaccompanied alien child.” It adds that even any “member of a household” of a “potential sponsor” is now immune from deportation.
But a DHS official told Fox News that terms like “potential sponsor” have precise meanings in Department of Homeland Security regulations — meanings that severely limit the number of people the budget keeps safe from deportation.
For example, to be a “potential sponsor” according to the DHS regulations, one must file significant paperwork — such as showing ID (U.S. or foreign) and proof of residency. The adult applying must also submit documents about the child.
Further, because the bill only applies to kids who are unaccompanied, it does not provide protection for those bringing kids into the US.
That would significantly limit the number of people to whom the no-deportation provision applies.
The section was added to ensure that people coming to pick up kids in custody did not find themselves deported for showing up to pick up the kid.

NebraskaFilly

Since I was so badly wrong on this, I am working diligently to ameliorate some of the damage I caused. Sharing everywhere possible.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

😂 its 👌 we all have our moments.

NebraskaFilly

Yeah, but I seem to have more than most…..*sigh*

Ken

Keep posting, NebraskaFilly. I know that you and I had a little tiff on this, but don’t take my posts as discouragement.
We all come here for consolidated news, key tweets, Q news and other updates that we cannot find at any of the MSM sites. This site is my go-to site. There is minimal fake news here and the trolls have yet to appear. It’s posters like you that do the hard work of finding the info and bringing it here. Mistakes happen. But, keep on trucking.

NebraskaFilly

And I do apologize, Ken, for saying “bite me.” I really didn’t think it would come across the way you feel it did – that was certainly not my intent. Thank you.

bflyjesusgrl

Mercedes Schlapp was on Ingraham’s show and explained the poison pills everyone’s been freaking about. The sky isnot falling 😃. She said there were actually less restrictions in this bill than in 2018’s. We have to trust POTUS. He’s not going to let BS pass. He fights for us every day. We are truly blessed.

Cornyn tries so hard not to look like swamp but he keeps tracking up the carpet no matter how many times he brushes his feet. The good thing is, now he owes us again because he knows we know he’s wrong.

Ken

Cornyn is so going to hear from me. I voted for that schmuck.

NebraskaFilly

OK everyone – let me have it – I deserve it…….waiting with fork in hand…..

bflyjesusgrl

NF, All is Well.

NebraskaFilly

No, really – I do feel I owe everyone here an apology. I get so danged wrapped up in this and react, when I should just calm down, give it time, and wait and see. Patience has NEVER been one of my virtues and my blunt speech is often misunderstood. Like my saying “bite me” to Ken – to me, that doesn’t mean go f yourself – it means more like “give me a break.” I do appreciate y’all putting up with me!

bflyjesusgrl

In this day and age, the wait 36-48hr rule is so vital. I have to remind myself of that constantly in order to keep my peace of mind😃 Again, no worries, we’re quite an understanding and forgiving bunch 🌳 🏠

NebraskaFilly

Which is exactly why we are HERE and not OT! You are so right – I am going to strive to remember that 36-48 hr. rule – excellent suggestion!

Ken

Your words above are heard. I understand your perspective better and, from my corner, no harm has been done. Please accept my apologies for any offense in my posts in that other thread.
Going forward, I will try to keep my musket pointed outward at the real enemies… out there…

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

We sent it back to the kitchen. The darn stuff is too bitter. 😉

SingularZoe

Nebraska, I for one think we have to be able to question, even if we turn out to be wrong in the end. Your misgivings were reasonable under the circumstances–I had concerns, but unlike some, we were sincere and willing to be corrected.

Eilert

Q seems to imply that the bill does have the poison pills in it, that so may worry about:

Be careful who you follow.
Q
I must say I was also surprised, that those would be in there and POTUS would not take any action against it.
After all he tweeted that the Dems were trying to do it and thanked the GOP for taken them out.

realsauce

hmm….. I think Q is referencing the Fox piece as truth to counter the BS that the NR and Cualter was spreading

para59r

Reads that the same way.

Put this on the Daily Thread as well:
Perusing the headlines and came across a Breitbart article with this headline:
Spending Bill Allows Mexican Cartel-Connected Texas Counties to Stop Border Wall
https://www.breitbart.com/border/2019/02/14/the-bill-allows-county-offices-with-historic-ties-to-the-gulf-cartel-to-stop-u-s-border-barriers-from-being-constructed-in-the-region/
Since the bill only lasts six months, and any local people opposing the wall, or saying tear it down, WILL be exposed and trumpeted to the world, what are the odds that this is a trap to further expose the local law enforcement on the take. Mexican cartels could provide one heck of a widows and orphans fund.
If the Army Corps of Engineers is building the wall, and they are military, and the military answers to the president, then it’s going to happen despite the spending bill.
That bill was agreed to, whether we like it or not, by design, IMO. We’re still in exposure mode. The payoffs from the cartels to local officials on the border needs to come out. I get a feeling this is part of it.
