Update on the epic Gamestop stock battle between WSB and the hedge funds.
Once again, the Fake News tried to drive the stock price down, but failed. The stock price closed at $65.01 on Friday, reached a high of $159.18 today, and closed at 76.79. Anyone listening to Fake News missed out on an 18% stock gain. The people who were “wrong” got an 18% gain today!
Meanwhile, WSB kicked one hedge fund’s ass so badly that it had to be bailed out.
Look at the absolute nerve of this one banker! He wants the SEC to stop people from sharing stock tips online because they’re “ganging up” on the poor short sellers. The bankers make a living manipulating the market in illegal ways to make us all poorer, but as soon as their greed catches up to them, it’s crocodile tears, bailouts, and calling in the feds. F— you, Smead. I hope your hedge fund is the next to go down.
Although stocks are normally out of our purview, I’m covering and participating in this battle because of the confluence of a populist movement, Fake News, and trying to fight Wall Street scum in a David vs. Goliath battle. It genuinely feels like another battlefront in the Great Awakening.

Facebook was new too, and was first rolled out exclusively to university communities, iir.
Google maps came shortly after as the latest/greatest creative tool.
Quite a lot of startups were done by folks who had day jobs funded by DARPA or CIA, then they went home at night and designed fun things using the same components for amusement.

Two weeks after my return, we’d erased “Communications Holdings, Inc.” and filed off the serial numbers, and I went back to being a VP of a real company.

Sometimes a seed planted in one season doesn’t sprout until another season. For some reason it waited. God’s timing, not ours.
When one leads a group it becomes quickly apparent that one is not in charge.
I had several experiences like that where the Spirit took over specially when I wanted everything to be perfect. Sure was perfect in God’s eyes and He conducted the retreat once I got out of the way 🙂
One thing you have to remember about the Gospel According to St. Mark is that it was written for God’s chosen people, the Jews. IIRC from Father S’s New Testament class 35 years ago, Matthew was written for the Greeks and Luke the Gentiles. John filled in the blanks once the synoptics were on the scrolls. I know the Gospel According to St. John was the last one written. The other three, Mark was used as a source for Matthew and Luke, and it is believed there was another source, a “secret source” or some sort of scroll with sayings from Christ known as Quelle or Q for short that was used by the authors of Matthew and Luke that’s been lost over the centuries. Those two Gospels have whole passages that the others don’t, like the Sermon on the Mount. So does St. John, but he was a witness to all of it.
Christ came for all, not just the Jews. But, at that point, not all had the same background and not all were living God’s law as laid down by Moses, etc. Not at all unlike today, actually.
Christ did NOT come for all, though He knew that would be the final outcome. He came to re-unite the House of Israel (the Ten Lost Tribes) with the House of Judah (which also included most of Benjamin). On the Cross, He said It Is Finished, meaning the Law of the Old Covenant was completely satisfied (by His Perfect sacrifice). Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven was open to all who chose to follow Him and His ways. Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles.
The Jews of that time hated Christ, for they knew the prophecies of the Scriptures and they knew that He was the King, not one of them. They wanted to be the son who was not prodigal, the one who refused to come out to his brother’s welcome home party because it was the one who abandoned the family that was being celebrated rather than he who was loyal all along.
Now wait a second! My archaeologist (not everybody has one of these 😉 ) insisted that Matthew was “for the Jews” because it devoted a lot of text to minutiae that only make sense in terms of convincing Jews knowledgeable about messianic prophecy. Granted my guy’s not Catholic or Orthodox, but just sayin’.

Now Luke as a Greek physician would seem naturally to be the convincer of Greeks, and Mark as a Roman soldier the convincer of Gentiles. But maybe that’s wrong. I’m willing to listen. This is just what I was taught.
John is the most poetic and the one that I personally find most theologically metaphorical – most of the time I like Matthew most, but I get into John moods, where I can basically fit every possible interpretation into what is being said and be happy.
Sure wonder if they’re gonna find a 5th “Gospel of Q” in this universe, because at the rate things are going, I would not be surprised. As long as it’s not another Chinese forgery. 😅

The place that becomes apparent is in the different Passions. Matthew is LOOOONNNGGG.
There is a lot of evidence that Matthew was originally written in Hebrew. If the extant texts are “reverse engineered” they translate into perfect Hebrew, according to some scholars.
Mark (it has been asserted) was taking notes directly from Peter’s memory. There are peculiarities in Mark which seem to corroborate this.
My favorite is Luke, and particularly Acts. One of the most amazing and significant aspects of Christianity is that Paul was taught directly by Jesus. Why this fact gets so little discussion, especially because the implications are so deep, is puzzling to me.
Long ago it occurred to me that the Gospels could and should be read while keeping in mind the specific sources. The dreams of Joseph, for instance, could only have come from Joseph, and from Joseph to Mary in all likelihood, and from Mary to others. The Transfiguration, another significant event which seems not to be widely discussed, could only come from three apostles.
There are implications to these facts.
I was delighted several years ago to find Jesus and the Eyewitnesses by Bauckham, which systematically discusses the personal sources for the Gospels.
IMO there are things people can only understand when they fully embrace Jesus as their Lord and Savior. To my mind, this meant recognizing Jesus as the central fact of human history. Fact, not theological concept.
Wolf, you once quoted a wise man who said that the fundamental aspect of his personal relationship with Jesus was that it was personal. That is the only theological concept I need, and then everything else makes sense. And in one way of looking at things, nothing else makes sense. IMO that is where the love, the peace, the spiritual comfort and the freedom come from.
Just my opinion, but I think that studying the history of Jesus, Christianity and the Gospels is far superior to studying theology in order to enjoy the personal relationship with Jesus, and to get the most out of it.
Thank you!!! And yes – the personal relationship thing is really beautiful, precisely because it drops “religion” per se out of the equation. One can call oneself whatever one wants, and it impacts not at all the thing or things which don’t care about human categorizations. For me, the 4 Gospels are remnants of some of the earliest pathways into that understanding. And the reason they work – and have ALWAYS worked – is that they “get one in on the ground floor” – going back in time and space – where a personal connection is not just possible, but makes more sense than anything else. People tried to explain the “magic” – the intensely spiritual awakening of that time and place – and THAT is what one needs most to experience, and to then understand. So there is literal truth when I tell people I’m better described as a proto-Christian than a Christian. And that was literally my path into Christ. I believed the “Old Testament” before the New – and that is probably also why Matthew is my favorite. But it’s not his explanation of prophecy which convinces me – rather, it’s his careful enunciation of Christ’s most zealous reformist positions on what were Jewish theological issues of the time. His ideas on afterlife, priorities within the Law, freedom / duty / allegiance, and our relationship to God – all of these tell me that he “got it” at levels which could only have come from God per se with the total blessing thereof. Where there is such understanding, there is trust, and where there is trust there is freedom. It all just works, and it’s amazing. That is an important part, but still not THE most important part, of my personal relationship.

Two of the U.S. government’s premier infectious disease researchers are collecting royalties on an AIDS treatment they’re testing on patients using taxpayer money. But patients weren’t told on their consent forms about the financial connection. Drs. Anthony Fauci and H. Clifford Lane, who helped invent the experimental interleukin-2 treatment being tested around the globe, even tried to alert patients about their royalties but were rebuffed by their own agency. They’re hardly alone.
-More than 900 current and former scientists at the National Institutes of Health legally collected $8.9 million in such royalties last year for drugs and inventions they discovered while working for the government, according to information obtained by The Associated Press.
But until last week, none was required to tell patients about their royalties despite the government’s promise in May 2000 that all scientists’ financial stakes would be disclosed to patients.
-That’s because NIH didn’t get around to enacting a policy requiring the disclosure until after AP requested the royalty payments and disclosure policies under the Freedom of Information Act in December. The policy was formally distributed last week.
The nearly five-year delay means hundreds, perhaps thousands, of patients in NIH experiments made decisions to participate in experiments that often carry risks without full knowledge about the researchers’ financial interests.
“Quite frankly, we should have done it more quickly. But as soon as Director (Elias A.) Zerhouni found out about it, he ordered it done immediately,” NIH spokesman John Burklow said.
-Ethics experts said the delay ran contrary to a basic premise of government ethics — open and full disclosure.”It’s hard for patients to make an informed decision when they don’t have all the information,” said Bill Allison of the Center for Public Integrity, which monitors the ethics of government employees. “When a doctor says, ‘Here, try this experiment, it is safe, or it will help,’ and the patient isn’t aware he has a financial interest in the outcome of that treatment, it in essence is taking advantage of someone by not letting them have all the information,” Allison said.
In all, 916 current and former NIH researchers are receiving royalty payments for drugs and other inventions they developed while working for the government. They can collect up to $150,000 each a year, but the average is about $9,700, officials said. In 2004, these researchers collected a total of $8.9 million. Only a dozen received the legal maximum.
The government owns the patents and the scientists are listed as inventors so they can share in licensing deals struck with private manufacturers. In addition to the inventors’ take, the government received $55.9 million in royalties for the same inventions and put that money back into research. Fauci and Lane have each received $45,072.82 in royalties since 1997 when the government licensed the treatment they invented to drug maker Chiron Corp.

As a result, they took steps on their own to address the problem while NIH delayed in enacting a policy. Both acknowledged they were unwilling to tell interleukin-2 patients about the royalties on consent forms until NIH developed its policy. Both will do so from now on.”We were reluctant to make a formal policy until the broad policy came down from the department and NIH,”Fauci explained.
Their case illustrates the gulf between what the government promised nearly five years ago in the midst of controversy and what actually has been done. Then-Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala pledged “that any researchers’ financial interest in a clinical trial be disclosed to potential participants.”
NIH, however, didn’t order the disclosure until last week’s policy.

Yesterday I made expectedly unpopular comments about Trump’s 3 “supremes” that folded like wet toilet paper in the Texas court challenge. I was criticizing Trump’s judgement regarding people. I get that the conservative system fed these “3 stalwarts /stooges” through to Trump, and of course it is not fair to hold him personally responsible – yet his legacy will wear this disaster.
The broader point is that the people (Q) behind Trump – his strategists / brains trust, whatever who should have done some vetting, failed. Supreme court picks are generally considered the most lasting effect of any Presidency. So, if the brilliant Q, whose PLAN was / will save the country from the commies, could not help ensuring the selection of the most important supreme court picks – can Q’s much hoped for plan be expected to perform any better?
Which brings me to Mittens. Donald Trump endorsed this “man” – and I got crapped on for daring to suggest his (Trump’s) judgement of human nature sucks. What good did it possibly do for the conservative / America First agenda to have this “man” in the Senate? Or do we have to wait for “The Plan” to explain this conundrum as well?
It must be one hell of a sneaky “plan” to justify Pierre Delecto slithering into the senate with the endorsement of DJT.
I think most of these people were introduced by Traitor Pence, which Trump trusted too much (We unfortunately all did)
I also think Pence is the one who compromised Q, besides Barr and Wray.
I don’t believe Q’s focus was on vetting Supreme Court picks and like Trump, our good congress people, our reporters, pundits and ourselves we all trusted the picks. This is kind of a cheap shot.
Besides, the only indicator from the voluminous legal writings that Gorsuch, Cavanough and Barret wrote and made public for examination that might indicate we had a problem was from Barret herself where she ruled in favor of COVID in some other case. Someone here posted about that as a concern back before her nomination or just after it.
I’d submit that perhaps the problem we have with our 3 picks is that they have COVID on the brain and while COVID has effected most everything happening in America this will continue to be a problem in SC decisions.

The part that most people do not want to admit is that the majority of the homeless in this country in the east, anyway, are mentally ill and belong in facilities that can deal with them properly. The uncivilized behavior is part of that.
Here, back in the 90s, there was a program to follow the homeless to keep track of them, and get them into programs if possible. For a while, they were living in the old rail tunnels under Tucker Blvd., that had to be replaced. They were right by one of the soup kitchens and out of the elements if nothing else. When the city social workers went down there to work with them to get them into shelters, or state mental facilities, the homeless wouldn’t go.
And due to current laws, they cannot be compelled to go.
That has to be fixed before any solution to the homeless situation can be implemented.

When Ashley was shot there was a young man with a black jacket I saw the same guy outside had changed to a light blue sweatshirt and red hat turnend around. He was interviewed by Dr Gina and he told her he was there when Ashley was killed. He showed his hand it had blood on it. He said he got it when he touched her.
He is short and a round face little chubby maybe college age kid. He showed no emotion. That is strange would one not have some emotions seeing someone being shot specially if one has blood on the hand?

Something strange . Ingersoll Lockwood is the name of the author that wrote the books: “Travels and Adventures of Little Baron Trump and His Dog Bulger” and “The Last President”. They were supposedly written over 120 years ago, but use names, phrases and situations relevant to today. People wondered how the author could see into the future.
That was not the big reveal in “1900 or The Last President.” The big reveal came months after anyone was paying attention to the book and it happened in the last couple pages. From my notes:
Concerning “The Last President” by Lockwood there is an amazing feat of prescience that you will not find remarked upon pretty much anywhere as the subject had largely been exhausted by the time that day in the book came about in our present day. People were enamored with all Q-oincidences and a possible link to time travel and Donald Trumps Uncle Nikola Tesla, the renowned MIT physicist (who btw Wolf will sometimes put his portrait up, unremarked upon, in preludes to special posts) and there was much chatter on the internet about it. But all this talk had happened before the President gave his first State of Union speech.
If you look at the last couple of pages in the book the last predictions are that the speaker of the house would cancel the State of the Union and then finally relent and allow it, after which the dome to the capital building would be exploded with dynamite at where somehow no one is hurt and a vote to dissolve the Union takes place. Story Ends.
Well, after everyone had finished trying prove or disprove all coincidences in the book, to include to say the book was fake (which they couldn’t, though the disambiguation pages on Wiki are strange in of themselves) and so on and had just moved on from the subject as if there was nothing further to see, the last freaky thing occurred like a large ocean liner coming out of the fog and should still be fresh in your memory. The speaker of the house did indeed cancel the State of the Union and then relented and allowed it. Just like in the book. Neat trick if you can pull that off.
Note. Ingersoll Lockwood allegedly wrote this book (1900 – or the last president) in 1896. The first State of the Union was given in front of congress by President Wilson in 1913. A lesser neat trick.

Okay, but this may be so much bull. I’ve got all of Lockwood’s books. The very last book he wrote was called Laconics of Cult. It is a Marxist attack on Religion. Just fetched it. First published 1910. This is from a review I did on “Goodreads” responding to someone else’s comment.
“Very Obscure book and the only way you would of gotten here is via “The Last President” or the Baron Trump Adventure Books. This one’s not quite like those and if you had some expectation on Lockwood and whom he might be, that will likely change after reading this book.
The Laconics of Cult by Ingersoll Lockwood published privately in 1910 is 91 page early attempt by a New York lawyer to bring one part of Marxism into vogue through his call on the disestablishment of religion from all human affairs. Lockwood makes a romantic yet angry and discordant attempt to deny the existence of God and all gods everywhere past and present and then to supplant the new modern day humanist ideals of his times, and unfortunately still ours, as a replacement for worship and religion.
Part of his rhetorical device is to compare and contrast the older already failed mythologies of the ancient world with Christianity, Judaism and Islam with lighter touches on other religions. Doing this he picks up an almost nostalgic tone for the older mythologies leaving the reader with the idea that those at least served humanity better by having left us more in the way of arts, technology, and science and were thus were more superior than what came after.
Having the reader half won he continues on with his other themes emphasizing the failings of religion and the nonexistence of God, any god, while placing the blame on religious adherents. It’s the old ‘religion is the cause of all our woes and wouldn’t we be so smart as to shun and deny it’s practice’ arguments that you find in Cultural Marxism but he broaches the subject as if he’s never heard of Marx or read Das Capital. Not a mention not a whiff of a mention.
Where Lockwood fails the reader is in his ignoring the upside functions of Religion by failing to note that many of the examples he gives against established religion is that much of the down side examples are committed by either those who purport to believe but don’t really and are so then no better than the atheist he wants you to be, or by those who are falling back on peoples superstitions to achieve what they believe to be a more nobler good. Maybe he can be forgiven for his shortsightedness as the atheists, Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, and Pol Pot had not yet committed their genocides. He’d certainly not be aware of the type of globalists we have running around today spouting depopulation, Sustainable Development or Agenda 2030 nor the technocrats associated with WEF who you can likely thank in one way or other for the lab bat virus. I’d have more on this but that’s thick enough.
Let’s just say spit on “Laconics of Cult” for now as established Religion when actually practiced has done a thousand times more good than it has bad in the course of people’s daily lives throughout history.

Now one little known fact, perhaps just to me concerning Lockwood and time travel is Lockwood’s brother Ralph was the preeminent expert on New York Bankruptcy Laws at the time, possibly all time. If I was to believe in the time travel aspect then I’d say contact with Ingesoll was not the real objective but contact with Ralph was, given Donald’s record on bankruptcy and ability to bounce back from it. If you look this up in Wikipedia you can find a place for Ralph, but your going to have to use their previous entries page to find full reference to what I speak, suggesting anything close to 2017 to find such.
Lastly reading the Baron Trump books is quite satisfying as you can see a young Donald Trump through out, however you won’t find much at all in the way of prescience other than the cover of the book and maybe a little more, like ancestry (german) and the tunnels in “Baron Trumps Under Ground Adventure”, but don’t skip the first book. Still not prescient like 1900 is.
Just reading through that causes back of the neck chills. I just ordered those books. We’re on the brink of something we can’t imagine.

You’re right – it’s just like a run on a bank, which gets caught not having enough reserves / cash on hand to satisfy the market (masses of people wishing to withdraw)
…and the Twister accounts being targeted en masse …
… so too is the massive retail (ordinary investors / traders, working for themselves) buying, where the hedgies are also caught not having enough.
The little reverse “trick” in this case is that the hedgies SOLD too much inventory (stocks) to be able to BUY enough to offset their sales (options – the right to sell is called a “put”, and can be margined [$1 will buy ~$10 of power / leverage]).
It’s a “run” not on buying the product, but on the SELLING of the product.
It’s a perfect storm, because most regular people in the market DO NOT have the capacity to bet AGAINST something (it’s called “shorting”, or buying “put” options to sell).
The scheme wouldn’t work in reverse: the hedgies MUST be short (betting against), because retail traders can only match their power by being LONG (betting for).
I suspect I’ve failed to make it “layperson” friendly, but I hope you get a little better idea of the events …

This lead to the classic “short squeeze”, where the guy tries to negotiate a way out with people who own the stock….except the people who own this stock (and kept buying more) are not gentlemen in the club. Their first point of negotiation is, “I WANT YOU DEAD, MOTHERF***ERS!!!!” and it kind of escalates from there. They haven’t gotten an even break from the Hedge Funds for 30 years, and they’re giving no quarter.

There was a tragic shooting of a doctor by another doctor in Texas. My point in posting this is that many doctor’s offices and clinics around the country will not allow people to carry guns inside. It’s as if they’re afraid of the very scenario that happened: an angry person coming in with a gun. Yet, if someone in that office had had a gun and been trained in how to use it, the situation might have ended differently.

The RNC is *supposed* to remain neutral in the primary. When they intefere and put their thumb on the scale for a candidate, we the people don’t like it.
