I have thoughts about this that won’t be popular. I know I seem harsh, but this makes me sad.
Tucker laughs because this is yet another example of people looking for the easy way out and taking a pill to do the hard work, instead of doing it themselves. What a surprise it’s harmful. Big Pharma isn’t there to help people, it’s there to make money.
Note that it is Americans, not the world, doing this to themselves. America has a fat problem, not the world. Because we have gotten lazy and complacent. Nobody force-feeds people Big Macs and fries every day.
Being fat is not a disease, but we pretend it is one.
Antidepressants don’t work, either. It’s been proven that a placebo works the same, and exercise works better. Will depressed people get on the treadmill or work out everyday, or pop a useless pill? I think I know the answer.

I actually think the fat problem is a combination of factors.
The real rise in obesity didn’t start before 1988 when high fructose corn syrup entered the food supply. Gail has pointed out the salt substitutions in bread are not ideal. There’s other additives in processed foods that are suspect, including soy in EVERYTHING. That can’t simply be discounted in the equation.
At the same time, as the general population spread out from denser city centers where walking was the norm for close locations, and cars weren’t necessarily a thing, people just aren’t getting as much exercise. I was the slimmest when I was walking a mile and a half both ways to get to a shuttle to get to work.
Then, add in all the electronic distractions, and we have a mess on our hands.
I follow a number of accounts on Twinkie of guys who were morbidly obese and changed to carnivore diet with a daily gym routine and they are dropping weight steadily. The food supply has to be a part of the problem.
Yes, there is lots of bad food. We have to choose wisely what to eat. And exercise is a choice, too.
As soon as I could afford it after college, I bought a horse. WHY? Because I am a lazy bookworm. I knew I would not exercise without a MAJOR prod. A gym membership just would not do it.
However, the guilt of leaving my animal all day in a stall got me off my butt into the saddle and onto the trails every day.

My immediate family always made a big deal about it. Being just overweight was an embarrassment to them. Criticism was couched as concern. it took getting away from them to make the commitment to change.
I get it. People always tell me “you’re so lucky to be naturally thin.” They have no idea how many things I don’t eat that I really want to, and how often I say no to a treat.
Losing 60 pounds is a wonderful thing and takes perserverance and focus on what we are eating. Congratulations!!!
I think it is time to stop blaming Big Macs. Not that they aren’t less desirable but because additives do more harm.
For example, bromide added to bread which screws up the thyroid gland and HFCS which screws up metabolism seem to me to be more responsible for the marshmellowing of America’s abdomens.
YUP! You can always do what I did, when I could still eat salt, ORDER a big Mac with cheese, onion, tomato & lettuce BUT HOLD THE BUN. I would get it in a bowl, often with extra lettuce.

That is why we need a bit of comic relief like that sarcasm.

And I know Tucker does that strange, cringe-inducing laugh when he’s uncomfortable.
But it doesn’t change the fact that here we have another drug company that is destroying people’s lives (paralyzing your gut seems pretty *&^%ing serious), by the hundreds of thousands (or millions?).
Nobody during the entire segment suggests any credible solution as to what needs to be done to STOP it, because any attempt to do so only leads to acknowledging some really uncomfortable truths, which are an even bigger problem.
Try it as a thought exercise. What could they have talked about as a solution, as a way to address the problem?
I don’t think it can be done, without ending up at military intervention or public revolution. Because if there was any other answer, the appropriate steps to stop it would already have taken place, and Tucker would have no reason to interview that guy.
And since everybody knows that, since everyone knows there is no answer besides FORCE — which by implication means everyone knows we are, in fact, living in a totalitarian dictatorship which no one wants to acknowledge, because as soon as we do, it suddenly becomes real — discussing the normal, lawful, procedural steps that should take place (immediately!) in this situation, are not even raised.

I think many people do, I’m just not sure why.
Job had a great life, blessed with abundance in every way.
Then he lost everything, through no fault of his own.
Then God restored Job and blessed him more greatly than before, for the rest of his days.
I suspect there are more than a few souls between then and now, who would choose Job’s experience over their own.
I would not, nor do I mean to minimize Job’s suffering, in any way. That’s not my point, and I’m not sure Job’s pain was a main point of the book.
If it was about hardship, would it begin and end with such abundance? Or would the middle part be stretched out to cover the majority, or even the entirety, of Job’s life?
That would be a book about suffering and hardship. And endurance. Who would choose to be the central figure in that story, including Job?
And who would believe it?
No man, just as Job’s friends didn’t believe him either — and that made the hardship even worse.
Only God would believe it, because only He would know the truth.

Because the situation Job was in did not arise organically or naturally, but out of a conversation between God and Satan?
It seems that God chose Job to make a point, or a number of points, which are preserved for our learning.
Which raises a question, why did Satan take the bait?
Satan knows that God knows everything — past, present and future — so Satan had to know that Job would pass whatever test God proposed, or God would not have chosen him.
In which case, Satan’s torment of Job had no purpose (from Satan’s perspective) besides the inflicting of pain.
And God, knowing everything, knew that Satan knew (that Job would pass the test).
And Satan knew that God knew that Satan knew.
And God knew that, too.

Job’s “curse God & die” wife was the only family left to him & she sounded like the one who most needed to go! I think God used her again to build up Job’s second family, at least that’s implied, to me.
I agree with your view on mourning. No matter how blessed he was in the end the, loss of his children & servants, & to a much lesser extent his material possessions, would have been an agony.
Job’s view here is a model for us all to aspire to!

I think a similar sentiment may have been expressed in some of the Psalms & the Prophets in scripture. This feeling of despair is a part of the human condition that we all wrestle with on occasion, imo.

Alcohol, starting around age 11 or 12, and for the next 25 years or so.
12-pack almost every night by the time I was in my 20s. Some people are mean when they drink, or sad. It made me feel happy, but that’s probably because I wanted to feel better, so I did.
I stopped drinking when I became a Christian, because of what the Bible says about alcohol and being under the influence.
Alcohol never did anything good for me, but it did make the misery of this world a little more bearable.
And now it doesn’t.

WRT the bird song, I have spent years on various bird song sites trying to track down what bird it was I was hearing in my backyard, with limited success. I rarely see the bird involved, and sometimes if I do, I cannot identify the bird. Plus, how do I know that was the bird making the sound?
So I have tried describing the bird sound I was hearing, and no site has been very helpful with that approach, until Arya. There is no doubt that I was hearing a robin, as Arya said. It occurred to me that I have seen robins thousands of times over the years, but never have I seen a robin while it was singing. and so never made the connection.
Depending on the bird, the sounds they make can be very different. A robin’s sound can vary according to the purpose. So asking what sound a robin makes has no single exclusive answer. And I was trying to find a specific sound I heard coming from my front lawn as I was sitting in my living room. Arya gave me the instant answer, which had never happened before in the numerous times I tried to identify a bird song/sound, and which made me very happy and grateful.

Thank you as always you are ahead of things. My husband and I are members of Miller food distribution. We are also helping with his lawyer fee. I feel helpless and remember farmer stands all over where farmers sold their goods. Actually anyone who had a garden and surplus sold their stuff. All the foods Amos sells is excellent.
I saw the other day a video where a farmer was saying ” that government is trying to limit the cattle production”. We do not hear much I guess one day we wake up and cannot buy beef or to expensive for us middle class. OH still seems reasonable and we still have farmers market and Amish selling their food stuff.
People are still asleep and do not seem to realize what is happening.
Most of the info I had in my notes has disappeared off the internet. Also, unless you were in the Farm Wars, you were not aware of the back stories.
That is why I wrote the series.
It is also why I dislike seeing the bashing of Boomers. WE HAVE KNOWLEDGE that is no longer available.

I am glad you are organized shows your professionalism you took into your retirement we all benefit from it.
I will add that this attack on farmers aka FARM WARS plus a ‘visit’ from the Animal Rights Activist…. ERRRrrrr USDA agent is why I sold off most of my non-equine animals and only have a few goats and sheep left. Enough for MY NEEDS but nothing to sell.

Yours Truly: Apparently, the ONS (Office of National Statistics) in the United Kingdom wasn’t happy with the mounting numbers of “excess deaths” in the UK since 2020 (and especially since 2021, the year of the COVID-19 “vaccine” rollout worldwide.) Soooo — the ONS has “updated” its “excess deaths” reporting calculating parameters. VOILA! — thousands of “excess deaths” were simply WIPED OUT.

That is why the Cabal/WEF/DHS is so very very worried about free speech.
One person is not a threat. Many people, esp a group ALL DIGGING on different aspects of the TRUTH is a MAJOR THREAT.

Well I downloaded their baffle-gab and looked at it, admit I’m not smart enough to make sense of it.
My overall impression is they’ve changed it from counting actual numbers to something like they lie with so called global warming, a computer model.
Pity the National Census is only every ten years, else that might have shown something a bit more concrete.
Wonder if Phil Jones and UEA are involved somehow (or if “Harry Readme” has a new job…cf “ClimateGate”)…

Our good GA/FL posted an update today.
Her daughter needs to have a pacemaker installed before she can be discharged from the hospital.
GA/FL has concerns about how things will be managed for her daughter’s care once she is back at her apartment. There will new equipment (Hoyer lift, etc.), new meds, the daily care routine, therapy, etc. to take into account. There will be Home Health care ordered to assist with GA/FL and the regular caregivers for her daughter.
Please keep our good GA/FL in your prayers and good thoughts.
