I AM the Door
The statement “I am the door,” found in John 10:7, is the third of seven “I am” declarations of Jesus recorded only in John’s Gospel. These “I am” proclamations point to His unique, divine identity and purpose. In this “I am” statement, Jesus points out for us the exclusive nature of salvation by saying that He is “the door,” not “a door.” Furthermore, Jesus is not only our Shepherd who leads us into the “sheepfold,” but He is the only door by which we may enter and be saved (John 10:9). Jesus is the only means we have of receiving eternal life (John 3:16). There is no other way.
To get a clear picture of Jesus’ meaning in this statement, it’s helpful to understand a little of that ancient culture, especially of sheep and shepherding. Of all domesticated animals, sheep are the most helpless. Sheep will spend their entire day grazing, wandering from place to place, never looking up. As a result, they often become lost. But sheep have no “homing instinct” as other animals do. They are totally incapable of finding their way to their sheepfold even when it is in plain sight. By nature, sheep are followers. If the lead sheep steps off a cliff, the others will follow.
Additionally, sheep are easily injured and are utterly helpless against predators. If a wolf enters the pen, they won’t defend themselves. They won’t try to run away or spread out. Instead they huddle together and are easily slaughtered. If sheep fall into moving water, they will drown. However, sheep do fear moving water and will not drink from any stream or lake unless the water is perfectly still. This is why David in the 23rd Psalm tells us of the shepherd who “makes [us] to lie down in green pastures, he leads [us] beside the still waters . . . though [we] walk through the valley . . . [we] will fear no evil. For You [the Shepherd] are with [us].”
Sheep are totally dependent on the shepherd who tends them. Shepherds were the providers, guides, protectors and constant companions of sheep. So close was the bond between shepherd and sheep that to this day Middle Eastern shepherds can divide flocks that have mingled at a well or during the night simply by calling their sheep, who know and follow their shepherd’s voice. Shepherds were inseparable from their flocks. The shepherd would lead the sheep to safe places to graze and make them lie down for several hours in a shady place. Then, as night fell, the shepherd would lead the sheep to the protection of a sheepfold.
There were two kinds of sheepfolds or pens. One kind was a public sheepfold found in the cities and villages. It would be large enough to hold several flocks of sheep. This sheep pen would be in the care of a porter or doorkeeper, whose duty it was to guard the door to the sheep pen during the night and to admit the shepherds in the morning. The shepherds would call their sheep, each of which knew its own shepherd’s voice, and would lead them out to pasture.
The second kind of sheep pen was in the countryside, where the shepherds would keep their flocks in good weather. This type of sheep pen was nothing more than a rough circle of rocks piled into a wall with a small open space to enter. Through it the shepherd would drive the sheep at nightfall. Since there was no gate to close—just an opening—the shepherd would keep the sheep in and wild animals out by lying across the opening. He would sleep there, in this case literally becoming the door to the sheep.
In this context, Jesus is telling us that He is not only the shepherd of the sheep, but also the door of the sheep. In doing so, He is vividly contrasting Himself with that of the religious leaders of His time whom He describes as “thieves and robbers” (John 10:8). When Jesus says, “I am the door,” He is reiterating the fact that only through Him is salvation possible. This is far removed from the ecumenical teachings popular in today’s liberal religious circles. Jesus makes it clear that any religious leader who offers salvation other than the teachings of Christ is a “thief” and a “robber.”
One who believes the gospel (Hebrews 11:6) and repents of sin (Luke 13:3) is assured of being in “the fold” and of having entered by “the door.” As followers of Christ, Jesus is both our Shepherd and the Door to the sheepfold who provides for all our needs. Knowing that the world is full of predators whose sole intent is to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8), we are always under His protection. More importantly, we are fully confident that “when the Chief Shepherd appears, [we] will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away” (1 Peter 5:4).
[Jesus], being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He Humbled himself by becoming obedient to death – even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We are so fortunate to have our brother bakocarl help us to a better understanding of the Word.
Mind you, the Word is there. And there are those who would “interpret” the Word for us and likely lead us astray. But the Word was written in a far-off land in a different language for those of a different lifestyle than most of us today, and “hints” are helpful and appreciated.
But principles never change.
True, though modern discernment of such principles may not be as easy as the original audience might have found.
Imagine, if you would, if Jesus had come to RF121’s world instead of shepherds and fishermen two thousand years ago. All the teachings and parables would refer to things like “overpressure”, “operators”, and “certification”. We’d have verses like, “when sealing a pressure vessel, the bolts shall be torqued to the rightful measure — no more, and no less — and, just so, with the attention of Man to the Word of God…..thou shalt take care of business with thy kith and kin and give thanks to the Lord in due measure.”
The principles might be exactly the same but clothed very differently.
Only 3% of Americans are farmers. The Committee for Economic Development at the end of WWII DELIBERATELY TARGETED INDEPENDENT FARMERS FOR REMOVAL.. Not only did they break-up extended families, they scattered those family members among cities to be factory workers. As E.M. Smith says, we are now all itinerant workers with no strong ties to family or place.
This meant the long term Church-Village-Family support network was destroyed and people had to RELY on the GOVERNMENT. It also made it MUCH easier to attack churches (Johnson’s 501C3 anyone) and insert socialist/marxist leaders.
The family knowledge of farming and ties to the land was also broken making it easier to change the messages in the parables. Grandad and Grandma are no longer there to correct the message and with a constantly changing ‘Flock’ the laity’s control of the church is much weakened. The Church elders who would likely be farmers are GONE.
Property taxes and inheritance taxes also took their toll on our farmers.
The later was just awful in some agriculture states for decades.
That seems evil to tax people out of their livelihood. Wonder how Amish deal with that or do they have tax exemptions?
CED was advocating for raising Farm Property Taxes here in NC a few years ago. In Taxachusetts if you are a farm and sell off a house lot, they will come and re-evaluate YOUR ENTIRE WORKING FARM as HOUSE LOTS and tax you accordingly. A friend lost his farm, that was in the family for over 300 years to that tactic. He had to sell a bit of land to make ends meet and then got a major whammy.

What I find encouraging as a countermove is I am seeing many in our and other areas who have recognized the danger and are moving back out to the rural areas to do their own versions of mini-farms. They then sell the excess product at the farmer’s markets and to farm-to-table restaurants. Most are doing chicken coops and raising goats. Some are into the more traditional livestock and beekeeping. We joined an even more rural church a half dozen years ago where the head deacon and his deacon brother operate a large cattle farm. He keeps the herd number up far above their family needs for the purpose of having it available if needed for friends and church members. He is a retired biologist with the NPS.
Folks are moving out to buy a minimum of 3 acres and most are seeking 10-20 acres. Not working farms for money, just to provide for family and friends while teaching the children a better way. At least one, usually the guy, will maintain a good job while the other handles a lot of the chores and kids. Many are homeschooling – that is exploding off the charts here.
Our daughter and SIL have the land move on their minds and are saving for it. He has always fished, but is getting more into hunting lately. We have abundant deer and wild turkey. He fed his family for a few months on a buck he shot last fall.

Yes at the time of Jesus people understood what a shepherd was and the relationship to his sheep.
Today many cannot relate because they do not understand the shepherd and sheep relationship.
Also in our language we often diminish the sheep as dumb. Can I see the rejection of some people rejecting the metaphor as being the sheep in Christ’s flock?
The value of shepherd in culture is lost.
I therefore enjoyed Scotland in the hills are the sheep and shepherding is alive so is the Faith. The understanding and relationship is there. Just think of the simple life of the shepherd he in his isolation is the holistic healer and has much wisdom. What a noble profession. So much love for the sheep he is tending too, so much care for the sheep that gets lost. In my next life I like to heard sheep in the mountains of Scotland. 🙂

This was a serious interview about our elections. I doubt there is anyone who knows more about them than Catherine. She says they are fouled up in every possible way — voter rolls, polls, machines, paper ballots, various state laws being ignored, and other things that I’m not well versed in. Her message is to get ready to do whatever we need to do, and to be ready for the midterms since not much has been fixed since 2020. We need to catch things as they are happening because trying to straighten them out later is nearly impossible. She advised being prepared to take off work during the weeks of early voting and election day. I’m sure more details about what we can do will be forthcoming, and the website has more info.
It is up to us to fix these things because the government is not going to do it. True the Vote has been betrayed by people in government who have turned the tables on them. We have to step up now or we will lose the country. It is a very serious situation, but she ended on a hopeful note.
When asked about Stacey Abrams’ office being used to store ballots, she said it’s so crucial for law enforcement to be involved, because if they do nothing and you speak up against someone like that, you are left hanging out to dry and open to be sued. True the Vote is still in litigation from Abrams since 2020, I think, and it is very expensive. This is why they want things to be reported as they happen and to have someone, like sheriffs, who will enforce the law.
Someone asked when we would know the information from The Pit, and she said it is scheduled for August 13 and surmised that we might have info that afternoon or the next day. She said the thought of it takes her breath away because she knows everything is going to change after it.
Another person asked if True the Vote was working on identifying bad actors from J6. She said True the Vote’s mission is about elections, but Gregg Phillips and the OpSec team have been working on J6 for some time.
This was a good interview that gave me a better idea of the big picture regarding our elections and what we are facing.
Just one aspect on the upcoming elections… seems we are seeing enough stories that the Post Office has been weaponized against us. Several stories brought here indicating that. Would be nice if Congress can at least attempt to shoot a cannon shot across their bow even though I’m doubtful it will do much good, but at least it will wake our side to the problem.

Asking everyone once more, how will we know if expectations for August 12 have been met?

So it should be easy to state what those expectations are, now. Just to have an objective standard on what constitutes a bombshell, and to help prevent rationalizations.
These are some of the things that have been stated about it (if I’m understanding correctly). Any expectations beyond these (and anything else I’ve forgotten to mention here) are not appropriate, IMO.
▪️ That all of the video and other information they have gathered regarding the 2020 election will be released.
▪️ That a group of 100+ people will be brought together for the various purposes stated here.
▪️ That sheriffs are coming on board and will work to prevent election fraud in various ways (with cameras, by being available immediately when fraud is witnessed, etc.)
▪️ That people will be trained in surveillance and research techniques.
▪️ That there will be a Fusion Center where information will be gathered and stored and disseminated.
▪️ That there will be a “big,Tiger” announcement about something.
In other words, we are going to receive some information and methods to investigate, surveil, research, and work with law enforcement. My understanding is that this will both reveal information about past stolen elections and help prevent fraud in the future.

Good morning! Thank you Bakocarl for your post on Jesus and the world when he lived among us. I did not know about the sheepherders being able to put their flocks together and so easily separate them again. That is so cool to know. My kitty, Brad Purrsley, likes us to get up in the middle of the night and he’s got me trained fairly well. So, I read your post and took a nap with Bradley after he’d had his early kibble breakfast. I just woke up again while dreaming that my dad called to talk with me. Dad died in 2002 the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was wonderful to hear his voice again even if only in my dreams. Though he spoke softly, I knew his voice right off. He told me he was doing well and mentioned being at Mt. Sanai. I thought he must mean the hospital, but having looked up Mt. Sanai and seeing they are still masking up and have hired someone to head a dept of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, it cannot be a real hospital anymore. So dad must have meant the mountain in Egypt. It is Sunday, God’s day of rest so kitty and I will have another little nap before we start our day. Perhaps I will get to talk with dad some more or dream of electric sheep. hehe

Yours Truly believes that part of your father’s spirit is still around, just as part of the spirits of all the departed are still around. They sometimes give “signals” to those they left behind. In 2006, my father went to be with my mother and the rest of my departed relatives in the Beyond. Every once in a random while, Yours Truly will see someone driving a dark green, 4-door 1999 Cadillac Sedan De Ville on a road around here. This was the last car my father drove (it was “on loan” from his son-in-law). To me, seeing this car is a “signal” that my father is well and happy in the Beyond.

I have learned to be open to spiritual possibilities. Sometimes I have had thoughts pop up seemingly out of nowhere to warn me of things that happen shortly thereafter or explain things I don’t consciously understand that recently happened. I like to think it is my parents reaching out in spirit acting as guardian angels to help me stay safe.
At other times, animals appear unexpectedly and I think my parents send them to tell me they are well and happy too. A bald eagle flew above mom and me shortly after dad died. Normally, they are much closer to the Mississippi River than that eagle was that day. He was flying above the cemetery. Deer stood like sentinels along my journey home from MO to VA after my mom passed away. They all stood facing me driving past and none ever tried to cross the road. They just stood watching in groups or alone.
Some stray thoughts have warned or explained to me “stay in your lane” and “watch out for deer.” My mom once told me one night she either dreamed or saw her own departed mother sit at the edge of her bed and tell her “It’ll be okay sis.” Sis was a nickname her sisters once used. Shortly thereafter, mom got breast cancer but it was okay and she got through that time after a lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy.
Disagree that departed souls ‘talk’ to us or otherwise communicate with us.
Messages are being sent but not by them. It is the Holy Spirit sending the message in a very personal ‘language’ that you are sure to understand came from the ‘other side’. Why are you sure? Because of exactly what you noticed that was personal to you, an individual that God loves and has certainly not forgotten or forsaken.
Always keep in mind the Ten Lost Tribes. Lost, not destroyed. They are still out here, scattered throughout the world with all their knowledge of their identity erased, with their DNA mixed with other tribes. God did this so they could hide in plain sight and have no real danger of being totally eliminated by tyrants (as Herod tried to do to the young male Jewish babies, trying to kill Christ whose parents escaped to Egypt).
Ezekiel 37 tells of the Ten Lost Tribes coming awake and aware. How were they roused from their stupor?
God talked to them via the remnants of their tribal DNA. That same secret comm channel God uses via the Holy Spirit to ‘keep Himself on your mind’ via what you described above.

The author points out that when a sheep falls and rolls over onto its back, like a turtle, it is helpless and can’t right itself, can’t get up without help from the Shepherd. Likewise, we cannot save ourselves from our sin and fallen nature.

In 1978, we went on a group tour of Israel with the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship Int.
We flew on El Al out of NYC, and that was an experience in itself. El Al was into serious security and profiling way before 2001!

My late pastor told us a tale from when he was an Army helo pilot, stationed in Iran before the revolution. He said one day he landed on a gentle hilltop in the middle of nowhere to pick up somebody.
While on the ground, his Iranian aides decided to build a fire and brew some tea. He saw two large separate flocks of sheep approaching from opposite sides of the hill. Soon the flocks merged and shepherds joined for some tea. He says to his aide, how will they ever tell which sheep belong to which shepherd. The aide smiled and said, just watch.
When the shepherds got up to go their separate ways, they each gave out a whistle and started walking. They never looked back.
The massive mixed flock divided itself into two groups, each following its shepherd, untill the flocks were completely divided and no sheep was left behind. The aide smiled at my not-yet pastor and said, see? the sheep know their shepherd and they will only follow him. He asked the aide why didn’t they look back to make sure? The aide smiled even more and said, the shepherd trusts the sheep to follow him.
Christ talked about knowing your Good Shepherd and refusing to follow another.

There is a mysterious doorkeeper/porter which opens the door to the shepherd, not only in John 10:3, but also in Mark 13:34 and implied Luke 12:36.
The upshot of this is that their are specific servants elect(ted) to prepare for the return of the Lord and the porter is the person who has to inform the others. The end of Matt 24, from verse 45 expands a bit on this.
Also Malachi 3:1 is deeply concerned with this. John the Baptist was the voice shouting in the wilderness, preparing for His first arrival. There is a messenger again (remember Ecclesiastes 1:9 “what has been will be again”) who must prepare the way before Him – and it involves the New Tabernacle / Temple ….

He has sovereign control – Job 12:23 and Daniel 2:21. He grants man the power to make choices – Deut. 30:19. The choice of life and death, blessings and curses. He incorporates our choices into His perfect will for all of us and His creation.
Be not confused – 2 Peter 3:9 applies:
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.
His sheep enter into his protection through the one door. The choices we may have once made may be different in the future when we repent and enter through the door of Jesus Christ. Truth is revealed through Him.

I appreciate the lessons and scripture from you, Bako, Duchess and others because it’s always hopeful and positive. I do confess though that it escapes me, the bottom line. Are we waiting on the Lord to right the wrongs worldwide or are we supposed to feel blessed because we see the wrongs and know that the afterlife by His grace is the reward ?
Is this wickedness put upon humans by the global governments the conclusion to man ruling man ? It feels to me that it’s an indiscernible message. Do we fight against it or just wait for some unknown number of people to repent ?
Global government IS the conclusion of man ruling man. It’s all very clear if you read Revelation that global government will eventually come and be the worst disaster ever to come upon the earth with a good 75% of humanity killed. Only when our Lord comes and establishes his Millennial Kingdom will that change. Whether we are almost there or not, I don’t know. And whether we’re called to fight it with every fiber of our being, I don’t know. But I do know that it will come.

Twitter and other platforms block certain content. If it did not have influence, they would feel no need to block it.
By our words we show that people are not alone and that there is a huge group of us who stand for what is right. Q helped in that regard, uniting people around the country and the world. We don’t know who is reading and what might spark a revelation in someone’s thinking.

I have actually seen my comments show up in places I never heard of. We win the battle one mind at a time.
My opinion: We try to live by all the principles of Scripture. We feel blessed as we comtemplate God’s goodness to us,, both now and in the afterlife. We give thanks even in the midst of troubles. We fight evil wherever it occurs. We have boundaries in our personal lives (not letting people touch us inappropriately, or take advantage of us in various ways, or invade our homes). Those boundaries extend to our communities (not letting them get trashed, fighting corrupt local governing bodies), our states, our country, and, to some extent, the world. We are not to hide our light under a bushel (Matt. 5:14-16) so people can see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. “Good works” includes fighting injustices and wrongs, trying to save those being trafficked and abused, and working toward good governance to promote peace.
IMO, “wait on the Lord” does not mean to do nothing; it means to do what you know is right and what you feel led to do while acknowledging that your timeline, and even your will, might not exactly match His — but to continue to prayerfully seek His will, give thaniks, and “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
With all that in mind do you think the present situation is different than other times in history when men chose to take up arms to battle the forces that they deemed evil or is this era the last one to be God’s decision how to cleanse the earth ?
I’m not attempting to be tricky in questioning these things but I’m genuinely confused
IMO the principles don’t change. I don’t believe we are being told to sit back and wait, and I don’t think the present time is different from other times in history. We are to be obedient to God and the principles found in Scripture, and that doesn’t change. We are to persevere to the end, and we don’t know when the end will be.
A question we all might ask ourselves: Why do I think/believe ____? Whose influence is causing me to think that? False prophets are everywhere, even among people we think are Christian ministers and apologists. It is common for people to declare things like “these are the end times.” It looks as if that is possible and even probable, but who knows how long that will go on? We have not been commanded to do nothing.
Scripture does not change, and God does not change (“the same yesterday, today, and forever”), so why would we think we should act differently today? Be wary of influencers, even those who appear to mean well.

That’s where I’m at. I’m pretty convinced that we are very close, right at the door. That’s why I question what it is God wants us to do right now. And I don’t mean speaking out against evil and trying to stop it in the ways we can. We should always do that. I mean going much farther.
I’m just staying out of God’s way the best I can. If it means going home sooner, let’s do it. But I will physically defend my loved ones, neighbor, community, the church, etc. until my last breath from evil in violation of God’s Word. I see too much evidence of God’s response to evil doers in the Old Testament in particular to believe we are to stand idly by and watch the innocent and weak be physically destroyed. Context is so very important in understanding the words and actions of Jesus. We mess it up a lot.

Daughter and kids flew out of SC last night, connecting flight in Dallas. They got there, connecting flight cancelled. Weather fine. No return flight guaranteed, no compensation, no hotel arrangements…nada, nothing.
Only by luck her half sister lives in the area, took an expensive uber to her house. Today the one and only flight with seats even close to San Diego was into Orange County so she took that.
They really have destroyed the industry and I guess that’s another facet of the tyranny..we may not enjoy freedom to fly one day
Flying Friday. On the way to the Oakland airport I got a message from Delta that my flight was delayed. Would miss my connection in Salt Lake to Boise. Figured I would sort it out when I got there. Then got a call from Delta. They rebooked me from San Francisco to get to Boise and wanted to see if that would work. Yes it would.
Airlines are not perfect. Mechanicals happen. Weather on the other side of the country can impact your flight by delaying crew and planes. Many are still struggling with staffing and covid outbreaks. Some airlines handle these better then others. Choose wisely.
Yes I get all that but one can only choose according to what they offer and not everyone that is flying is a single adult able to take that alternate arrangement or split up the family on different flights.
Either “weather” has actually gotten significantly more dangerous or they have changed the accepted pilot capability to fly in/around bad weather because I’ve also been using air travel cross country for decades and only very rarely seen these kind of cancellations due to weather.
Shooting up pilots with poison or pilots and crew opting out of jabs for sure is impacting. Also employees across the business spectrum are using covid as their fail safe option for time off. All anyone need say…I have covid or I feel like I’m getting covid and days off are theirs, no real questions asked.
Just saying..the new normal for services/flights booked and paid for is becoming at your own risk..you might get where you paid to go, on the day you paid for OR you might not and don’t even think anyone cares.

Why did the Food Inspectors fail?
In a recent (2009) NY Times article, Food Problems Elude Private Inspectors, journalists speculated on how food safety auditors could give a “superior” rating to a production facility that a few months later would poison hundreds. Many people have noticed the increasing number of food-borne illnesses reported in the press, but no one has attempted to explain why it’s happening, how it can come about. Let me show you not only how it happens but how our present food safety system encourages similar situations.
To understand the problem it is necessary to look at the “Quality Revolution.” In the 1970s when I first started working in the quality field, Military. Standard 105D (it became 105E later) was often used to determine incoming inspection levels. Mil Spec 105Dwas a common-sense, statistics-based standard, appropriate to the military sense of getting things done correctly, and it saw wide use in industry. It provided methods to categorize vendors as good, average or below average. The customer could adjust the level of incoming inspection accordingly.
Dr. W. Edwards Deming, a mathematician doing research into quality, had been ignored by US business. He took his expertise to postwar Japan where his methods revolutionized quality. After superior Japanese quality flattened American business in the market place, Americans started searching for the “Magic Wand” that would allow them to compete, Several experts cashed in on this mad search. Joseph Juran, Armand Feigenbaum and Philip Crosby emerged as the leaders of the pack.
In 1987 the methods used by Deming and the other leaders were quantified as a set of quality manufacturing standards called ISO 9000. I was one of the first to get training in ISO 9000 here in the USA. I was impressed by the first half of the presentation and during break started discussing what I had learned with my seat-mate. He was not at all impressed. He was originally from Russia, and he told me that the Soviet Union had used the same kind of system for years, and that and it generated paperwork, not quality. Twenty years later I, along with other quality professionals, agree with him.
Bean counters, looking only for immediate additional profit, found some of the concepts of ISO 9000 very attractive:
1. Do not duplicate effort by repeating testing that’s already been done. This means that incoming inspection can be eliminated, saving some labor.
2. Develop a relationship with a single source instead of wasting resources on qualifying several sources
3. Use “Just In Time.” Since the source is prequalified, the raw materials can arrive on the same day as needed, eliminating warehouses and jobs.
The third item is particularly interesting. If the method fails, that is, if the supposedly prequalified material is no good, there might be no choice but to use it anyway! The result can be anywhere from a minor inconvenience to a total disaster.
So what does this have to do with the peanut fiasco? First, because of the “Quality Revolution” a version of ISO was developed for the food industry. It was called HACCP and was published as an international standard in 1993 by Codex Alimentarius. In 1995 Mil Std 105E was declared obsolete and in 1996 HACCP was adopted by the USDA.

Notice how this ruling has shifted the focus of audits, both government and private, from testing for contamination to the paperwork documenting the “Quality Management System”. Secondly, rigorous incoming inspection has been drastically cut‒if not eliminated‒by the companies that receive raw materials. In buying peanuts from the vendor Kellog relied only on a third-party auditor who reported on the integrity of the suppler. Twenty or thirty years earlier Kellog would have sent their own quality professional to work at the vendor’s facility.
If the “Quality Revolution” worked so well for the Japanese, why isn’t it working in the USA? There are several reasons. First is the Japanese sense of honor, ethics and integrity. Deceitfulness is frowned upon and results in a loss of face and disgrace to the family.. Secondly, Japan is a small country so word of deceitfulness spreads easily.. In the USA a slick salesmen who lies to get sales is likely to be praised and held up as an example to new salesmen. The US has a very mobile population, there are always new suckers moving into the community . A scoundrel can relocate to any of forty nine other states.
Another problem, according to quality expert Kaoru Ishikawa, is America’s regulations of business that give tremendous importance to each company’s quarterly results. He claims that the result is short-sightedness.

When we were going through ISO 9000 certification, one of the auditors stated that they didn’t care what we were making. It could be complete shit as long as it was documented properly, we would pass.
Another aspect to ISO 9000 relates to the concept of “headcount”. If you document everyone’s job properly, so the story goes, you don’t need experienced or talented people — you can just treat them all the same. If you want a thousand widgets, you can print a thousand copies of the instructions and hand them out randomly to people — the guys who normally build the widgets, the guys who normally build other widgets, random bums off the street…. And if you only need to build 800 widgets, you can lay off 1/5 of your workforce and print only 800 sets of instructions.
I should note that Sarbanes-Oxley walked the same path with financial accounting.

In Genesis, Adam names all the creatures of the earth. “God formed out of the earth all the wild beasts and all the birds of the sky and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that would be its name.” There are lots of explanations for why this is significant, depending on your theological viewpoint. To me naming things is not insignificant in everyday life. How you call something shapes the meaning in your mind and manipulates your point of view.
Years ago, when I represented workers who were challenging their union’s leadership, the wise lawyer who worked with us (someone who had earlier honed his trade working for FDR and General MacArthur) cautioned me to be careful how we described ourselves — we were to fashion our movement Reform Miners, not rebels, insurgents or anything else. Repeated often enough by us in interviews and in litigation papers that’s what the press would call us and that was to our advantage in the public mind.

How do we know Buck Nasty is ANTIFA? I’m not doubting it could be possible; I just would like to see the evidence. If that were proven, it would be huge. Then Wood should be confronted with that evidence.
A meme or clip of people shooting each other, especially people who are supposedly on the same side, is inappropriate and divisive to post, whether he made it himself or not.
Wood is suspicious of some people, and justifiably so, IMO. But he takes it too far. He calls anyone who hasn’t made fixing 2020 their signature issue, a communist. That includes Ron DeSantis and Marjorie Taylor Greene. I understand the point, but I don’t think you can make blanket conclusions like that.

The 38-page report was done by “Worldwide Safety Pfizer”. The FDA file number is FDA-CBER-2021-5683-0000091.
The report was done in response to an FDA request for more information of 9 March 2021 regarding “cumulative post-authorization safety data, including U.S. and foreign post-authorization experience…” Apparently, the agency wasn’t satisfied with initial data given to it by Pfizer-BioNTech in the company’s 4 February 2021 proposal for a BLA (Biological License Application) for “investigational COVID-19 (BNT12b2).” The company submitted all required BLA data in May, 2021, and the FDA did a “priority review” in July, 2021. The FDA granted “full approval” for the company’s German version of the vaccine, called COMIRNATY, in July, 2021 — but did NOT grant “full approval” to BNT162b2. This is because BNT162b2 is still in clinical trials until 2024.
Brief summaries of the Cumulative Analysis document:
Pfizer-BioNTech makes it clear that it alone will perform the management of the post-authorization safety data (page 5 of the report). Pull quote: “All reporting of AE’s [Adverse Events] was to Pfizer.” Reports are “submitted voluntarily, and the magnitude of underreporting is unknown.”
Page 9: “An accumulation of adverse event reports (AERs) does not necessarily indicate that a particular AE was caused by the drug;…”
Then — “Due to the large numbers of adverse event reports received for the product, the MAH [Marketing Authorization Holder — BioNTech] has prioritized the processing of serious cases, in order to meet expedited regulatory reporting timelines…” (translation: too many AE’s were reported for BNT162b2, so Pfizer-BioNTech pushed through case processing in order to get the BLA done)
Through 28 February 2021, a total of 42,086 case reports processed by the company contained 158,893 adverse events related to the use of BNT162b2. (Recall that the company stated that “the magnitude of underreporting is unknown.”)

IMO, this report is d@mning for not only Pfizer-BioNTech, but also for the FDA. The FDA knew that BNT162b2 was a dangerous “vaccine” that was using an unproven mRNA technology. Based on the above report alone, the FDA was duty-bound to reject the company’s BLA and send the entire process back to the drawing board. But the FDA also knew that the company’s German version of the “vaccine”, COMIRNATY, had already been “fully approved” for use in the EU and other countries by the European Medicine Agency. So, the FDA issued “full approval” for COMIRNATY in the U.S., while “extending” the EUA it had already granted for BNT162b2.

Through 28 February 2021, a total of 42,086 case reports processed by the company contained 158,893 adverse events related to the use of BNT162b2.
There were MULTIPLE adverse events per case however they do not say what the TOTAL number of vaccinations were. However there were AT LEAST 38 deaths. The vaccine for the original SARS virus was pulled after 34 deaths If I recall correctly.

Very very close to me. This is not a good area to assume a particular person is unarmed.

I went there in 94’ on a large mission trip church planting! It was literally like the Book of Acts! Miracles, signs and wonders were common! Deaf ears opened, asthmatic bronchitis healing, and many other tangible works of God’s Presence! Many were born again! Thousands of Bibles given out! We went to a city northeast of Moscow
named after one of the founders of the KGB! How awesome!
Here’s the key… never, not once, were we persecuted or hindered by anyone! They openly welcomed us with open arms and allowed us to have open air evangelistic outreaches in the main town square as well as nightly crusades at the city’s old theater!
We ran into very old Russian Believers who were weeping to us how grateful they were that we had come and that they had prayed since the days of full blown Bolshevik Communism in the underground church under threat of death! They were ecstatic that we were sent by the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel!!!

The Fiancee and I went to Saint Petersburg, Russia a few years back [we kept having to monitor an Icelandic volcano]. We had a great time and gained a lot of increased understanding of the Russian people and their government. Relations between Russia and the US were probably at the best they’d been in our lifetimes.
We got some leftover harassment from the Cold War — EU members generally filled out a 5×8 card for their visa; The US and UK got to fill out a four page form which included a mini-genealogy, employment history, and — my favorite — “do you have any special skills regarding hand-to-hand combat or nuclear, biological, or chemical warfare?”
The airport at St. Petersburg transfers you to buses out by the runways, and takes you to the terminal building. In the bus, I was standing next to a large guy in a satin Tae-Kwon-Do jacket proclaiming him something like an 8th Dan black-belt at some international festival. As we packed-in, I turned on him, waved a finger, and said, “it was YOU — you’re the guy!!!”
Mind you, my personal experience with Tae Kwon Do was highly limited before I got thrown through a window, but I knew enough to be certain that 8th Dan black-belts didn’t randomly dismember people in airport buses just for being irritating. But it got his attention. He said something like “what guy?”
And I went for my closer — “the guy they were asking about on the visa application, if ‘you had special skills regarding hand-to-hand combat….'” That got him chuckling.
Turns out, there was a tournament going on, they needed extra black belts to help officiate, he’d been specifically invited and his visa had been processed in about 12 hours while he was packing and booking flights (our visas had been processed in about two weeks), and…….he’d answered that question “no”.

That was about the age where I was doing the TKD thing…..although, for me, it would have been 5th grade. I concur with your outlook for discipline, not that this gives me any sort of a vote like Mr gil — and, worse yet, the situation for peeps coming out of Covid hysteria in the 2020’s is very different than peeps in the ’70’s.
Partly dt kiddos resistance. Perfectionist on many things. But, we will give this place a shot, esp since he is just starting. Mr gil has several yrs karate experience so he will be watching more carefully.

My husband’s buddy went there in his college years & was out drinking in some bar. Late at night they tried to flag a cab for a ride & piled in. The cabbie didn’t want to drive Americans around so refused. Robert knew a smattering of salty Russian & drunkenly started “threatening” the cabbie saying if he didn’t take them he would give his mother-in-law a good F—ing! Apparently the cabbie thought this was so funny that he wanted to be their new best friend & take them drinking with his buddies. Salt(y) of the earth 😉
Russians tend to be much like cowboys were depicted in the good old gritty cowboy movies, like “Shane”. They are not “Goody Two-Shoes” and can be cruel and abrupt — but honorable and humorous.
Very interesting. My hubby used to work with a number of Russians in an industrial electronics repair company. They mostly kept to themselves & spoke Russian to each other. He thought they seemed to have really good humor…& unusual toileting behaviors. He was pretty sure that they squatted over the seat, shoes on the seat, to take care of business…& some of them would pee into the floor drains instead of the urinals…
