About the Xi having the former boss removed from the floor of China’s legislative body:
What we just saw was the making of an All Xi’s Men team, the breaking of decade-long rules, and the birth of an unlimited supreme leader. These are not entirely surprising, but Xi’s grab of power is still beyond our expectation. He is now a truly modern emperor. 1/
Xi will rule China for not one but at least two and likely three terms (15 years). He is “only” 69 year old: Mao ruled China until his death at 83 and Deng kept CMC Chair until 1989 when he was 85. So don’t expect Xi to retire before 2037. Xi’s power apex just started, today. 2/
No successor. Xi is too “young” to pick up a successor. His ministers have no interest in suggesting one. Potential candidates dare not imply it. Xi’s future successor is now a nobody (who is not even in the Central Committee this time). Succession may not be an issue in 2027. 3/

America’s World War II Nostalgia Risks Blowing Up the World
Instead, we would like to warn about how the World War II afterglow has warped America’s ability to make war in a rational way. The generation that actually fought World War II has died out, and the generation that even remembers the war will join them soon. Instead, America is ruled by Baby Boomers and GenXers grew up on World War II nostalgia. Psychologically, they crave the chance to wield American power with the same moral certainty of their fathers and grandfathers. They want to win victories that are just as drastic. But to win World War II-style victories, one needs World War II-style enemies. And so, depressingly but predictably, America has conjured these enemies into being even where they don’t exist.
This warped perspective has already led to disasters in Afghanistan and Iraq, which were bad enough. But now, a persistent failure to learn has brought America’s ruling class to the brink of igniting a global nuclear war.

Rep. Liz Cheney on Trump testimony: He’s ‘not going to turn this into a circus’
Asked about the possibility of Trump testifying publicly, Cheney said the committee will treat his testimony “with great seriousness.”
“(Trump)’s not going to turn this into a circus,” Cheney said. “This isn’t going to be, you know, his first debate against Joe Biden and the circus and the food fight that that became. This is a far too serious set of issues.”
I hate to tell the bottle blonde, but it’s already a circus, and Trump is the attraction the crowds actually want to see.
Cheney: I Will Do Whatever It Takes Including Presidential Run to Stop Trump
Anchor Chuck Todd said, “Donald Trump ends up the nominee in 2024. You’ve said you won’t be a Republican anymore, so it implies you think the party can be saved.”
Cheney said, “I think the party has to come back from where we are right now, which is a dangerous and toxic place, or the party will splinter, and there will be a new conservative party that rises if Donald Trump is the nominee of the Republican Party, the party will shatter, and there will be a conservative party that rises in its place.”
Chick, you LOST your primary by forty points. These delusions of grandeur need to stop.

Win with Wisdom
I will tell you now that the West will survive only if America survives, and America will survive only if enough Americans awaken to the real threat of encroaching totalitarianism quietly descending all around them. Speech codes, thought police, digital tracking, universal surveillance, political persecution, unrestricted government power — these are the calling cards of tyranny. Either Americans will wake up to the bitter reality that their lives and liberty are already on the line, or they will one day be woken up by the same jackbooted enforcers who always come knocking on the insufficiently indoctrinated’s doors. In the space separating these two possible futures, there will be a moment — a spark, if you will — that will either catch fire in the hearts and minds of Americans everywhere or be extinguished before it takes hold. That moment will decide everything.
The question for anyone alive today is this: what will you do with that moment? Will you let it slip by because you have convinced yourself there is nothing to be done? Will you throw up your hands in despair at overwhelming odds? Will you hope that someone, somewhere does something in your stead? Or will you dig deep and armor your resolve with iron courage?
Signs of the Red Wave Approaching
Yes, folks, the red wave is real and coming to your town soon.
I have discussed the types of bias that can occur in political polling in several previous articles, one of which you can read here. Unfortunately, that bias is still out there. More on that later.
I have also discussed the hidden conservative vote, now officially recognized by pollsters and referred to as partisan non-response bias. This means Democrats want to talk to the pollsters, and Republicans don’t.
In 2020, polls overestimated Joe Biden’s support by roughly 4% nationwide and by an average of 4.3 points at the state level. The only factor the American Association for Public Research could point to for the polling miss was partisan non-response bias.
Uncivil Modernity
Hartle explains that if this central claim about the primacy of leisure is allowed, the preservation of the common good requires the presence of gentlemen who rule and philosophers who teach them. Furthermore, the presence of these human types involves nothing less than the institution of slavery for their upkeep, and this grave difficulty constituted the Classical-Christian tradition’s “Achilles’ heel.” For his part, Montaigne perceives an opportunity in this weakness. He conceives of a philosophy of equality and freedom, which replaces the old tradition’s foundation in inequality and hierarchy. To achieve this, the first order of business has to be the reconstruction of philosophy itself.
No longer will philosophy be the “love of theoretical wisdom” but will take the form of “sociable wisdom.” Such a redefinition of philosophy allows for avoiding or at least minimizing political conflict. With this consideration in mind, Hartle shows how Montaigne denies the sacred tradition’s divine origin by reducing it to the level of mere human custom. Without spiritual support, the sacred tradition is merely an arbitrary and contingent inheritance from the past. This process amounts to the mastery of human nature itself, which is the essence of the modern project when all is said and done. Montaigne’s “New Adam” differs radically from the old. He is not the created being who stands in contemplative wonder about the world and its Creator. Instead, he is a presiding judge who orders everything according to his will.

A Star Is Born: Kari Lake Shows the Real Path to “Trumpism After Trump”
In a great many cases, this post-Trump ideology is little more than wish fulfillment—the dreamer’s fantasy of a political movement that takes everything the dreamer likes about Trump while cutting loose everything they dislike about it. In fact, the most common dream is better described not as “Trumpism after Trump,” but as Trumpism without Trump.
According to these establishment luminaries, Donald Trump was too crude, uncouth, and belligerent. He spent too much time on Twitter jousting with his critics, and too little time poring over the most recent Conservatism Inc. white papers. Trump traumatized these nerds by blowing up the polite version of politics that they wish existed; the fake image broadcasted in Aaron Sorkin TV shows.
When these people dream of a political future, they fantasize about Trump’s policies (or a stale, watered-down version thereof) offered by a figure as boring as they are, someone less combative and therefore more “respectable.” This person, they believe, will win electoral and policy victories without spurring the liberal opposition’s anger and intensity. He won’t get them denounced as “fascist” by the media or their former friends.
These people mean well, but they misunderstand Trump and they misunderstand America.
“THEIR” DEMOCRACY
The Biden administration continued its campaign to criminalize political opposition on Friday after a judge sentenced Steve Bannon to four months in jail for criminal contempt of Congress. Bannon is reportedly set to become the first person to be incarcerated for Contempt of Congress in more than half a century, and also faces a $6,500 fine for his refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by the show trial masquerading as the House January 6th select committee. The former White House Chief Strategist joins a long list of figures who have been found in contempt of Congress including Eric Holder, Lois Lerner, and Janet Reno. Of course, none of those figures were sentenced to jail time for the same crime, and it doesn’t matter that Bannon did not participate or even attend the January 6th protests. The purpose of the select committee is not to actually investigate the events surrounding the protest but instead to punish Donald Trump and the political opponents of the Democratic Party.
It would be a waste of time to list the countless Washington DC functionaries who have committed far worse crimes, including fabricating evidence and directly lying to Congress, and faced zero jail time. Those individuals are shielded by their allegiance to the deep state after all and Bannon has declared himself an enemy of that same permanent bureaucratic class, and this cannot be tolerated. From the FBI’s raid on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence to their sweeping arrests of peaceful pro-life protesters, the message is clear: the federal justice system is a tool to punish political opponents of the Biden administration and the progressive Regime. The selective enforcement of a violation that no one has been incarcerated for since the 1940s is not hypocrisy, it is the establishment of a permanent political and legal hierarchy put on public display for all to see.

PSALMS 128:1-5
1Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways! 2You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. 3Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. 4Lo, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD. 5The LORD bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast down to Hell Satan and all his evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Man Pretending To Be Woman Visits Man Pretending To Be President
WASHINGTON, D.C. — History was made last week as Dylan Mulvaney, a pretend woman, sat down in a one-hour Now This News special with Joe Biden, a pretend president.
“OMG OMG OMG Mr. President, how aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrree you? EEEEEEEEEE!” said pretend woman Mulvaney in a perfect impression of a totally normal woman. “I’m so, so, so, so, so, so excited to talk to you about important issues concerning very, very young little girls just like me!”
“That’s right,” replied Biden. “I’m not even being facetious here. Not a joke. For real. Annie Oakley.”
Aides then poked the pretend president with their handy cattle prod, as he was pretending to be awake.
