I went to the supermarket this afternoon and was parking when a van parked nearby with “Mark 1:15” written across the back window. We both walked in, and he paused to get a shopping cart — so I asked the guy, “What’s Mark 1:15?”
He seemed to think I needed a short refresher on how to reference scripture, but I interjected, “what does it say?”
So he paused a bit and recited that bit of the gospels as I listened carefully. When he got to the end, I thought for a bit and said, “thank you.”
He seemed somewhat flummoxed — I don’t think he gets that reaction very often around here.
I don’t have that verse memorized, so I still don’t know what it says…

When I was young, I was an obnoxious little shit and virulent atheist. Somewhere around college, I came to understand that atheism was a statement of belief as fervent as that of the most devout believer…..and that agnosticism (“I don’t know”) was more intellectually honest.
In the many years since, I have moved further toward a realization that there is a need for certain beliefs, and that many of them can be found within Christianity. Further, those people who tell me of verses like Mark 1:15 are attempting to “do me a solid” — how could I not be grateful?
I shudder to think of what the 14-year-old me might have said to this man. This 60-year-old me thanked him, and meant it.

Judges in star chambers the world over are hiding their heads in paper bags.
I don’t expect her to recuse. I’m sure Trump’s team has a Plan B, but I don’t know what you do if your judge is biased against you and won’t recuse.
I would appeal it all the way to the (not)Supreme Court if they hear cases like that, and they must, otherwise a clear miscarriage of justice is taking place with a judge who has publicly admitted bias.
Otherwise it’s clearly an issue for appeal after the trial, but it should never get that far.
There are cases where recusal is questionable.
When a judge has made public statements against the defendant, it is not anywhere near one of those ‘questionable’ areas.
A competent judge would have kept his mouth shut about cases that might come before him or her.

But at about the :25 mark you can see what looks like a plane, or what could be a plane, heading toward the building from the right side. It is definitely something slamming into the building at a high rate of speed.

I’ve never heard of reports being produced for any of the 9/11 sites, but I might have missed it. Seems like people would have been referring to them over the years.
Plane parts could have been planted in the twin towers when it was wired for the controlled demolition.

I believe a plane hit the Pentagon. I also believe that it would be impossible for an essentially amateur pilot to do what had to happen for that to be true (basically land the plane on the building). Therefore, I must believe that someone other than a Saudi with a few hours of flight time under his belt flew that plane. So, who did?
I don’t know who would go on a suicide mission like that except someone of a certain mindset. I agree that that doesn’t look like something an amateur could pull off. The likelihood of their crashing the plane before the mission was accomplished seems high.

I think there is only one frame of video that captures the projectile, whether it’s a missile or a plane.
There was commercially available software to enhance clarity and details of digital photos at least 15 years ago. I remember investigating photo enhancement software options to see if any would be helpful to me, because I was so tired of trying to discern details from fuzzy eBay photos of record LP labels and covers, or relying on answers to questions from sellers who had no idea what they were selling. Details matter, could be the difference between a record LP worth $5 and an LP worth $500 (or more).
Today, especially with the addition of AI and access to the original video (tape or digital), that frame could be enhanced and cleaned up to a significant extent, certainly enough to determine whether it was a plane or a missile.

There’s a photo I can no longer find of the damage inside the Pentagon, and the hole in one interior wall is a perfect circle. No aluminum plane is going to do that several layers in.
Also, how would a plane know precisely which office to hit to destroy all evidence in the audit process? That had to be a pre-planted target, and what commercial airliner is going to have the equipment to hit such a thing?

My brother is/was a Chinook 53 pilot, and he is not who I was talking to last night. My dad worked for McDonnell-Douglas on the F-18 in multiple versions.
Several people with knowledge agree, what hit the Pentagon was a missile. That assessment is confirmed by the Pentagon’s own footage. I am QUITE POSSITIVE our friend FG&C would agree.

Well, one of many interesting things about a missile, besides who manufactured it and who owned it, is where it was launched from.
It should be a fairly simple thing to figure out which missiles were in existence in 2001 that were capable of doing the amount of damage that was done to the Pentagon, and not more damage or less.
Suppose there were 10, for sake of argument. None of them are ICBMs, so they had to be launched from somewhere fairly close. Look up the maximum range for each of the 10 candidates and you have concentric circles of distance from the target on a map, so see how far from the target each possible missile could have been launched.
Suppose of those 10, 4 were U.S. made and owned, and 6 were foreign made.
Suppose of those 6, only 2 were made by foreign nations who had submarine launch capability. Of those two, was either known to be within striking distance on 9/11, and could either have evaded detection by the U.S. military, back when the military was competent?
The point is, if people with access to the right tools and information wanted to find out, they could figure out pretty quick whether it could have been a missile or not, and if it was, whether it was one of ours or someone else’s, and a whole lot more.
I believe Jack Cashill dug very deeply into the TWA 800 “shoot down” during Clintoon’s regime. I did not read his book, just numerous American Thinker pieces. It sounded like it was done by our own military, Possibly accidentally, during a training exercise. There may have been someone “inconvenient” to the Clintons who conveniently was killed, like the Ron Brown fiasco, but I don’t recall the details now…
I believe the PA plane was shot down, though the passengers efforts to retake the plane seem pretty well documented so that also likely happened. There were debris (at least from the baggage compartment) scattered over like five miles & eyewitness reports of a fireball on the plane while flying & some of a missile, I believe, Before the plane crash.
I so agree. The circumstances ,the precision and expertise needed don’t add up to anything close to plausible to me.. A drone maybe with exact coordinates. A guy who got FAA approved , took a few refresher courses over the span of some years can pilot a plane rivaling the best Blue Angel type pilot ?? No way.

In 2001, supposedly three randos had one chance each to hit 3 buildings in the highest stress scenario there could be, and they demonstrated a 100% strike capability.
So take 100 random American male volunteers (no muzzies though, it would be criminally negligent to teach muzzies any new destructive skills) and give them the same training the terrorists had.
Then put them on a professional quality airline training simulator, give them the same flight paths and air speeds, and see if they can hit the targets, even in a zero stress environment.
If zero out of 100 can do it, we have our answer.
If even only 33% can get a successful hit, then by extrapolation, only one of the 3 buildings should have been hit.
I predict zero could do it, certainly less than 33%.
Then for fun, have 10 or so professional passenger airline pilots take a crack at it, see how they do.
I have read that coming in at the angle they were flying, in a turn, going full speed, it would not be an easy thing for even a professional pilot to hit either of the twin towers.
Why not find out?

Today was nowhere near as productive as I would have hoped.
Somewhere in the preparations for launching the Fiancee, I joked that all she really needed was her ID, her cellphone, and her credit cards — the rest of the luggage was extra.
So she landed at Heathrow, turned on her phone, and got bupkis. Then she went to a Mickey-D to keep her blood sugar going and had a credit-card declined (as it turns out, two of the three she took with her got locked). She still had ID, so could have done the “I’m an American Citizen” at a Consulate, if that still works these days…..
But she levered her last remaining credit card into a burner phone and a sammich, then called me. A couple of hours later, fortified with some tea, I was in a local AT&T storefront, cozening information out of the staff and management despite company policy (they’re not supposed to discuss a cellphone account with anyone not on the account. They suggested that she add me to her account, which she could easily do if her phone worked…..which would mean that she would have no reason to add me to the account.) (In addition, if there is any trouble with a cellphone account, the SOP is to log into the AT&T side of the account and see what’s there. It was difficult for them to do logical analysis without having first done so).
In the meantime, she used the burner to get her other credit cards turned back on. I sent her an email to tell her what I’d discovered, then — on a whim — called her and talked her through it. One of the interesting points is that “international calling” and “international roaming” are different things, even though customer service tends to confuse the two. One seems to be dialing calls overseas and the other seems to be receiving calls.
Anyway, my day got started with a bang and did not go according to my plans. I have high hopes that tomorrow will be better.
I’m surprised any of the credit cards worked, if she didn’t notify each card company fraud department that she was going to merry old England.
She attempted to do so, but two of the cards were relatively new reissues (e.g. the old version of the same card expired in July), and they got *cough* special attention.
You have to be persistent about it. I bought airline tickets from Air Lingus once, and got a call about them. However, every time I’ve called the bank(s) to tell them I will be out of the country, it took being persistent. Didn’t have any issues.
Can’t recall ever having a problem with my cards overseas.
Of course, my situation may be an anomaly of sorts.
One double charge from a small vendor in Singapore, while on a brief visit in Singapore. Easily corrected. Fully believe it was an honest mistake.

Anyone remember the series “Max Headroom”? In the initial episode, we are introduced to Edison Carter, a TV reporter, and his “Controller”, Theora Jones. As he is out chasing a story, she accesses multiple screens of data and talks him through any resulting challenges — “the corridor ends in a T; take the left branch, but stop after 12 feet; when the guards take the right branch, follow them until you see an emergency stairs access on your right. Go through the access door, and go up two flights — you’ll see the main door onto the floor, but also a janitorial access on the left….”
When the Fiancee was on a business trip to High Point during Furniture Mart, she got into the airport and drove to her hotel — only to find that her room had been rented out from under her despite being fully prepaid. We got to do our own version of “field agent” and “connected controller” (I eventually got her the last available room at a nice place in Asheboro). It’s a very engaging, difficult but rewarding exercise.
Incidentally, I’ve done the other side of that game once on rent-a-car row at the Charlotte airport. One of the major rental car agencies was busing people out of the terminal out onto their lot and holding them there. There was a guy who had been waiting five hours for a car.
I had booked my car through AAA, and called their service line to report a kidnapping. I got a truly exceptional agent who had me set off across the lot to a gap in the fence, then across a service drive to another agency (where she booked me a car while I was hiking). When I got home, I sent a letter to AAA praising her initiative and skill, with dates, times, and receipts. It is really amazing what an “eye-in-the-sky” can do to help things along.
She just called. Everything is working now.

I started walking 2 days ago. Little bit. I can get upstairs now, so no downstairs baths anymore and i slept in my own bed. Hospital bed being picked up today. Still a lot of swelling. Incisions are healing still. Scabby a bit even after 6 weeks. Started taking vitamin c to help.
I had another episode of syncopy last thursday. Woke up in a pool of blood.
Saw cardiology this am. Most likely the cause is my bp meds which i havent taken since Wednesday. I had multiple near syncopy episodes on friday, 2 on sat, then none. Cardiology will do echo ultrasound in a couple weeks and ordered a heart monitor for a week straight.
Waiting to find out what is approved for ankle physical therapy.
So, progress w the ankle, and will see about the other.
Wow that’s a long & winding road. Glad you’re able to do without the hospital bed & walk now–progress!

What does syncopy have to do with bleeding? I’m confused.
I passed out from syncopy and the floor stopped me. I hit my left knee on the door then landed on my face so hard i very nearly broke my nose. Ergo lots of blood.

Ah ty. The ankle break i was sitting on the tub edge and fell forward to the floor. This 2nd one i was sitting on my bath seat in the laundry room. Its incredible. 1 minute alert and next gone. Not even high up off the ground and you can get that hurt.
