MARK 9:41-50

41For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ, will by no means lose his reward. 42“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung round his neck and he were thrown into the sea. 43And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. 45And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. 47And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, 48where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. 49For every one will be salted with fire. 50Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its saltness, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

The above URL only gives me a comment; not OMG’s post.

However, there’s this URL to the rescue.

WordPiss is now refusing to load tweets again. 🙄

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

We’re going to see regional outages to Twitter as the election approaches. They will be just long enough to do the job – not long enough to be attributable to the actors. WP isn’t the culprit on this.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Maybe it is; maybe it’s part of the means of blockage. (Though it’d be more efficient to do it closer to the source.)

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I’m finding a complete correlation between problems loading Twitter / X pages directly, and problems loading tweets into WP pages. So basically I can remove the WP layer and the problem is still there.

That said, WordPress has had moments of significant Twitter-unfriendliness in the past, and I would not be surprised if it happened again before the election!!!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

“I’m finding a complete correlation between problems loading Twitter / X pages directly, and problems loading tweets into WP pages. So basically I can remove the WP layer and the problem is still there.”

Didn’t realize that, and that clarifies it.

pgroup2

Cute trick, wolfie.

Here’s a nondenial denial from the Air Force:

U.S. AIR FORCE COMMENT: O’Keefe Media Group reached out to the U.S. Air Force and we received an exclusive statement on the record from a U.S. Air Force spokesperson today:

“This individual was not speaking on behalf of the Department of the Air Force.”

This statement comes as we released our undercover exclusive footage of Jake Reyna discussing his DEI department at the United State Air Force.

Forgot to switch out the “X” for “twitter” in the URL.

Citizen Free Press:

James Comey is panicked about Trump winning.

I don’t care how you feel about Biden, you must vote against Trump.’

This certainly sounds like election meddling, Jimbo.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

WSB

Comey sounds rattled.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

He’s cheerleading STEAL NUMBER TWO, coming this November.

WSB

I know there are overwhelming numbers, yet how else can the steal be stopped?

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

It has to be made very clear to the people behind the steal, that the price of another steal is far beyond what they would bear by simply letting Trump win and letting him fix all the crap.

Comey is very self-serving here. He did wrong and he knows it. His lawfare HARMED this nation.

Yet, if Trump wins, the likelihood of Comey actually going to jail is less than MY chances of going to jail. The reality is that Trump just wants to fix things, where progressives rely on far too much breaking of things. But the simple risk of getting called out as a bad boy for his destructive lawfare is more than that asshole Comey can bear. It’s ridiculous. He’s a narcissist SQUARED.

What Comey and his ilk are doing is driving this nation into actual civil conflict – most likely because he fears losing his pension.

Absurd! A civil war over a fucking pension? WARS in Ukraine and Israel (the cost of Steal Number One) over a fucking pension?

SAD.

I felt that it was a mistake to go after McCabe’s pension, and I still do. The way to get these ASSHOLES who are wrecking the nation’s drama OFF the stage, is for them to realize that they’re better off getting off the stage. We see this in Obama’s tactic of having his minions resign to avoid accountability. They grab their bag of coins and GO – and that is what needs to happen here. The assholes leave, knowing they will live well under a Trump economy.

We need to remove the “incentive” that the asshoes are using to motivate their fellow government workers to remain in their plots and schemes, which is to argue that they will be fired AND lose their pensions.

The Q folks had it right, IMO, in saying that there were too many layers of minions and go-alongers for everybody to get justice.

The real point is getting troublemakers OFF THE STAGE and FIXING SHIT.

I want to make it very clear, however, that if these ASSHOLES drive us into real, physical, civil conflict, then I’m through with their asses, and will CHEER for them to approach the gallows when it’s over.

LET TRUMP FIX YOUR MESS, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES!!!

pat frederick

but letting them take their $$ and go also means they can return if the winds shift any time in the future.
an example needs to be made OR this will happen again. perhaps with all the soying and destruction of “toxic masculinity” that’s part of the plan. run, hide, and live to see another opportunity when the resistance has been weakened.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

We have to use TIME to our advantage.

The idea is that the criminals go off and retire and DIE PEACEFULLY (i.e, they can’t come back), while Trump fixes the government so that they don’t / can’t come back, or arise in place.

For a WHILE, but we realize it can only be FOR A WHILE, just like the Founders realized.

The reality is that things are cyclic, and yeah, things will go bad again in the future. But do we get out of this turning WITH or WITHOUT a civil war?

Horrible war in a “civilized” country is very real to me, because of my mother’s recounting of the destruction of Germany. Ukraine right now is a warning of what will happen here if there is a civil war. China wants it. Russia wants it. It’s not a good option, IMO.

The idea is to make government less fertile for the corruption and crap, by a means other than “we have to scare the fuck out of these people with the fear that they will go in front of a firing squad.” Because they are just itching to throw You and Me in front of firing squads, and THEY are in charge now.

We are in a rather dicey situation.

To me, if they steal it again, I’m good with civil war. I hate to say that, but it’s true. I don’t care how they “exit” at that stage. And things will fall apart if they steal it again.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Another option is, don’t put any kind of price on their head, and don’t do any sort of pursuit…but also don’t forbid anyone to take care of matters themselves.

That would, however, likely be legally “ugly.”

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yes – very ugly. That is the “North Mexico” future these bastards and bitches are pushing us into.

singingsoul1

Obama is the linchpin. He was is behind destroying the USA. Bush one and two are CIA stooges so in Clinton and Obama.
Where it goes from there I am not sure. To many players big players. The little fish who we see are decoys . Voicing just my instincts.

Gail Combs

I am fairly sure the real control of the USA is based in Europe.

It looks like Switzerland IS NOT PART OF THE EU!!!
SEE:
RELATIONS WITH THE EUThe European Union and Switzerland
Delegation of the European Union to Switzerland and Liechtenstein

>>>>>

From brave AI

Switzerland is a popular destination for immigrants, with a diverse population and a strong economy. Here are some key facts and statistics about immigration to Switzerland:

Demographics

  • In 2020, Switzerland had a population of approximately 8.5 million people, with around 1.6 million foreign nationals (around 19% of the total population).
  • The largest immigrant groups in Switzerland are those from Germany, Italy, France, the former Yugoslavia, Albania, Portugal, and Turkey

.
.
Immigration Requirements

  • To move to Switzerland, you need to obtain a temporary residence permit, which is issued for a year and must be renewed annually.
  • A Swiss residence permit requires you to live in the country for at least 183 days a year.
  • The application for a Swiss residence permit can include your spouse and children under 18 years of age.
  • Holders of a Swiss residence permit for financially independent persons and their family members are not allowed to work or conduct business in Switzerland after immigration. They must receive income from outside Switzerland.

Immigration Process

  • The immigration process in Switzerland is handled by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) and the cantonal migration authorities.
  • The process typically involves submitting an application, providing required documents, and undergoing an interview.
  • The application process can take several months to a year or more, depending on the complexity of the case and the workload of the authorities.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So they are NOT overrun with ‘Diversity’

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Agreed. It’s a VERY slick diversion. It looks like the US is running things, and is the rampaging bull in the china shop, but that bull is doing exactly and only what the Euro-Globos want it to do.

Switzerland is highly suspect. The true winner of all world wars.

But the great thing is that WHO is really behind it all, doesn’t matter. It may not ultimately be Euros. It could be gay/pedo off-world humans, running the clueless colony planet through local minions. It could be satanists that go back thousands of years. It could be some giant AI. Whoever. Doesn’t matter. Washington is a puppet of somebody.

Gail Combs

“…Washington is a puppet of somebody.”

THAT has been my conclusion for years.

mollypitcher5

If what we think has been happening to ‘create’ RINOs which is $$$$, being paid to stand down and vote Dem, it’s money that gives the plotters and enemies the security to continue on with their plans. Time and money..it’s like being given a bonus vacation to regroup.

They didn’t spend decades molding anarchists in the public school system, mentally confused gender people that now includes every un-imaginable perversion and not to forget millions of foreigners brought here, purpose unknown.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

As long as the DEMS are in power, they use that power to send taxpayer money to their minions.

If Trump gets in, he can shut it off – and THAT is the source of a lot of the crying from the Dems.

pat frederick

pigs will always find other troughs to eat from though.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

China will feed them. Just like the 90s.

mollypitcher5

maybe that’s why traitors should be hung..just sayin

mollypitcher5

I agree but It also seems that the minions..the warped citizens, the unpatriotic military. the illegals….those are the ones steeped in the ideology of marxism. That kind of belief set won’t really go away with money cut off. The DemComs have made the perverted ones dependent on drugs paid for by govt, the illegals are definitely funded…I’m really hopeful that things can be turned around …a lot of it is financed by the Schwabs and Soros types so they also need to be chopped off at the knees

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

It’s going to take a miracle to avoid a civil war, IMO. But I believe in the Prince of Peace, and it is within His power to change hearts and minds – even of his enemies!

TradeBait2

Be watching for a future story. Biblical example incoming fairly soon.

Valerie Curren

Pharaoh’s heart was in His hands!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

YES. Was just thinking about him today.

FUTURE PROVES PAST on his opposition to Linux. It wasn’t just about the money. It was about CONTROL.

singingsoul1

Amen

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

IMO Trump has been trying to thread the needle on educating people on this whole subject. His statement that fixing things IS his revenge is the closest to the reality, IMO.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It does hit them where they live. If they can’t slake their thirst for power they won’t be happy at all.

However, it does leave them free to try again, and no matter what Trump does, there will be ways to work their way in and corrupt it again.

(In fact, we have to be wary even if we were to imprison or execute every one of them, because new control freaks and powermads are made all the time.)

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Exactly. The supply of sinners and sins is endless, so to speak!

pgroup2

YES!!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

If Trump gets in, nobody will believe whatever bullshit they try against him, like MUH RUSSIA. So Dodge and FIB get the cleaning they need – and the commies can’t have that. So they will go balls to the wall to stop Trump from getting in – and that exposes them to the possibility of total societal rejection.

Expect SPICY.

pgroup2

Yeah baby!

Barb Meier

Comey fully knows his culpability.

Gail Combs

“…. then there is almost nothing to do, short of tearing down and rebuilding these corrupt orgs razing to the ground the buildings where these orgs existed….”

There fixed it.

90% of the post civil war federal government departments need to be RAZED and the duties RETURNED to the states as directed by the Constitution!

pat frederick

don’t forget to salt the earth too

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

LOL!!!

Gail Combs

With DEMON-RAT TEARS!

TradeBait2

We are in the same camp, Gail. You cannot and should not fix what has been corrupted and illegal/not authorized to exist.

As a farmer you know. Anybody who has any understanding of life cycles people, agriculture, business, government, etc. already knows this. We do not need minions in the existing carcass of what might have been America trying to fix things that are spoiled, dying or already dead. Birth, growth, maturity, decline, death. Keeping illegal/unauthorized federal entities alive through life support and for criminal intentions is destroying this nation.

The whole thing is corrupted, rotten. You destroy, terminate, vacate, whatever, the illegal/unauthorized/criminal entities of federal government. There are no claims to be honored to fix or restore unless they are legally authorized.

America as it has become has to die and be reseeded into fertile ground in accordance with the Constitution. Even patriots need to wake up. Not in it – its gotta go along with all of the jobs, properties, contracts , etc. Use the money spent on foreign aid to give a soft landing to those impacted by job loss. Property sales go to retire debt. The states return to being what they were when the Constitution was adopted.

SCOTUS decisions do not override what is in that document. No more activist court decisions. No more Roe v. Wade, commerce clause finagling, Bammycare creation, creating protected classes on people on the federal level, etc.

States rights and federal limitations have to be honored per law. We have never really got this right since the events around the War of 1812.

Rant over.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

That sounds nice. If it can be accomplished without a civil war, even better.

TheseTruths

The whole thing is corrupted, rotten. You destroy, terminate, vacate, whatever, the illegal/unauthorized/criminal entities of federal government.

Sounds like what Javier Milei of Argentina has been doing.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

OMG, if we could just do that here!

pgroup2

Enjoyable rant over.

FIFY. 🙂

TradeBait2

👍 😀

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Rant over.

I suppose all good things must come to an end.

kalbokalbs

THIS!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Then, Gail, you are asking for ARTILLERY DUELS in Washington DC. I cannot see those buildings coming down any other way.

Not that I cannot live with that option, mind you. China and Russia rubbing their hands at the possibility, yes. BRICS would have several decades of further rise to power during that time. Also not bad for the world, frankly.

Because IMO artillery is the only way those buildings get razed to the ground. Either that or the Russians or Chinese nuke them, which would be deserved karma, but still.

I would still like to see this solved peacefully. But now, thanks to what these assholes are doing to Trump, I can live with the failure of the peaceful option.

Interesting times. Sadly.

pat frederick

didn’t take much to bring down the towers though

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Back off and look at what that did to America and the world!

Yeah, it was two towers, designed to change the course of history, by THE BLOB.

And it was not just those planes, IMO. It took a lot of work to load those buildings with explosives and blame it on (in essence) “The Middle East” so we could change the course of history and send trillions of dollars of money there.

pat frederick

i agree it was the explosives…but you don’t think explosive would work with other buildings to raze them similarly?
i don’t know much about explosives so it’s really just a hypothetical question

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Explosives placed in an engineering manner can easily bring down these buildings, but who’s going to place them? A self-inflicted job like 9/11 can do it on the sly, but otherwise, it will take an army to subdue the city and then the organizations and the buildings (and would probably occupy them and use them as HQ for years) before destroying them, if at all. The buildings would probably be used for something else.

Gail Combs

I have a better solution. Re-purpose them into VETERANS HOMES. Trump is a builder he knows how.

kalbokalbs

Re-purpose is the answer.

Rotten organizations need to be defunded AND employees go away. Get a real job. Or, even code.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Medical or software?

kalbokalbs

Software.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

And what did software do to you, that you would inflict these turds upon it?

kalbokalbs

  :wpds_sad:

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

LOL!!!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I don’t trust those bastards to take out the trash – much less code without creating back doors and flaws to let CHINA in.

mollypitcher5

It bugs me that the proposal for a new FIB HQ is already in the works.
Razing the building would have a symbolic meaning to those that believe they’ve lost the plot and mission. It’s unholy ground to me…as is most of Washington DC. It’s dirty and foul

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I hate the fact that they got new digs in return for treason. I hear you.

Realistically, a patriotic director and FBI reform, after a massive (Clinton-level) clean-out of DOJ, seems like a superior and achievable solution.

I mean, it’s fun to talk about these “ultimate solutions”, but realistically, options are limited, and half of them involve war and other unpalatable solutions.

It may actually come to that, sadly, and once it does, FUCK THE COMMIES is all I can say.

My mother’s tale of what she saw inside a church bombed by the allies during a midnight wedding service was quite sobering. At least the bride and groom died together. So did everybody else. Nearly 200 bodies.

The communists are itching for a war. They don’t care how many die – particularly on their own side. They killed their own Jabbies without a blink – they’ll kill us even easier.

Like I said, interesting times.

mollypitcher5

In my heart I think you’re right. They welcome a war and China would love to assist. No matter our zeal and commitment to our ideals I think we’d be outgunned.
The days of loyal guerilla fighters taking out regiments from behind trees and across swamps has gone.
Their infrastructure has to be neutralized

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

guerilla wars absolutely depend on a source of money and supplies.

They can still succeed in this day and age, provided that condition is met.

I doubt anyone would assist in this hypothetical case.

singingsoul1

We need a de Nazi fication.

kalbokalbs

Seems like USG is itching for a war.

OR, I missed something. Again.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

They’re itching for war with anybody, it seems, including IN PARTICULAR the Americans they don’t like.

January Sixth was a brush with death that American patriots just barely survived. It was meant to finish us off – so that patriots would either side with the commie USG, or die / go to prison opposing it.

We were all meant to get WACOed.

We came incredibly close to being turned into the “Enemy of the People”, and hunted like rats.

kalbokalbs

Sadly yes.

Patriots have bullseyes on them.

Courtesy of DOJ, FIB, HLS, IRS, ATF…

pgroup2

Loosen that tin foil hat a bit, brother.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Too late for that! 😉

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

and the duties RETURNED to the states as directed by the Constitution!

Or in many cases not done at all; in fact I could argue should be listed as things no government may do.

Gail Combs

I am ALL for the not done at all.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Why on earth do beauticians and barbers need a fricking license? And why do people who do nothing but braid hair need that license?

Just one example.

Gail Combs

Why do people who have goats and sheep and bunnys for kids to pet need a FRICKING USDA INSPECTION OF THEIR PREMISES?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Many many many examples.

I could at least see a basic health inspection for your situation (though there’s no reason it couldn’t work more like Underwriter’s Laboratory than some twit from the government coming over), just because of the exposure…but WTF does USDA need to be doing it for?

Gail Combs

Believe me the insurance companies take care of any problems.

We just filled out the forms for a new insurance.

Do you use seat belts on the saddles [HELL NO!]

How often do you tighten the cinches….

kalbokalbs

Bingo.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Spent most of the day at Ft. Pierce federal courthouse to cover two hearings in classified docs case.

Special Counsel team’s frustration with Judge Aileen Cannon is really evident.

And it’s glorious.

David Harbach, one of Smith’s lead prosecutors and usually a cool customer in court, had a series of mini temper tantrums this morning. At times pounding his fist on the podium and clapping his hands in anger to emphasize a point, Harbach was totally unprofessional, demeaning, and petulant.

Cannon asked Harbach to “calm down” during one diatribe about accusations DOJ threatened one of the defense attorneys to get his client to flip on Donald Trump.

He kept trying to argue with her–Cannon also remains measured most of the time and is no fan of antics–and when she asked him a question about an issue, he shot back “that’s not the right question.”

A few reporters in the media room even gasped.

Harbach is flailing bc his case is imploding.

DOJ never thought their dirty, sloppy, corrupt tricks would see the light of day. Biden regime never thought information such as the FBI’s operations order related to MAL raid that included lethal force guidance would ever be made public.

But Cannon is systematically dismantling this case by holding hearings (like today) and ordering the unsealing of key motions and evidence. She is a one-woman wrecking crew and Smith’s team knows there is very little they can do about it.

And she is nowhere near finished. Just this week, in addition to the unsealed motions posted yesterday that revealed details about the MAL raid, Cannon ordered the unsealing of several motions filed earlier in the case.

I’m working on a Substack post for the weekend on the nature of the motions today and the proceedings–but suffice to say Jack Smith’s team already appears deflated and defeated.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I flew Spirit once.

One of the features is, that you might find a big sticker on your seatback tray that says you’ve won a free flight. I did see that sticker on my tray–it was badly worn and nearly illegible, so I didn’t even start to read it. I only realized what it was when everyone was cheering me while I had my headphones on, and someone prodded me to get my attention. They had announced my seat number as the winner.

I knew I wouldn’t be flying again at all soon and it had an expiration date, so I didn’t even bother collecting it.

Obama Bros Terrified That if Trump Wins He Might Get to Appoint Two More Justices to SCOTUS (VIDEO)

The former Obama speech writers, often referred to as the Obama bros, run a podcast called Pod Save America.

During a recent episode, they revealed that they’re horrified by the prospect of Trump being reelected because he might get to appoint two more justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.

They correctly point out that if that happens, the court will have a conservative majority for decades.

They also suggest that Democrats should run on this issue…

This is one of the main reasons that the left has amped up their attacks on the supreme Court. It drives them absolutely insane that they don’t control it.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Document Dump: Encrypted Message Sent by Hunter Biden to CEO of CCP-Linked CEFC Conglomerate, Setting Up a Meeting with Joe Biden in Dec. 2017

New documents released by the House Ways and Means Committee show an encrypted message sent by Hunter Biden to the CEO of CEFC Global Strategic Holdings, a CCP-linked conglomerate, setting up a meeting with Joe Biden in December 2017.

The Republican-led committee voted to release more than 100 pages of documents proving Hunter Biden lied under oath to Congress during his February deposition.

House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) on Wednesday accused Hunter Biden of lying under oath during his closed-door deposition before Congress in February.

New documents provided by a whistleblower contradict Hunter Biden’s testimony to Congress. Hunter Biden repeatedly lied to Congress about his family’s international influence-peddling scheme, according to Chairman Smith.

Chairman Smith said Hunter Biden lied about his shakedown message to his Chinese business associate Zhao. Hunter claimed he messaged the wrong Zhao because he was “high or drunk,” however records show the two had been messaging each other for months.

One of the documents released by House Republicans shows Hunter Biden messaging Liu Yadong, the CEO of CEFC Global Strategic Holdings and setting up a meeting with Joe Biden.

Biden Crime Family whistleblower Tony Bobulinski has repeatedly claimed Joe Biden was involved in Hunter’s multi-million dollar deals with CEFC.

“The Chinese Communist Party through its surrogate, China Energy Company Limited, or ‘CEFC’ — a CCP-linked Chinese energy conglomerate, successfully sought to infiltrate and compromise Joe Biden and the Obama-Biden White House,” Bobulinski previously said…

House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) said Hunter Biden lying in his sworn testimony to Congress is a “felony offense.”

“Hunter Biden has shown once again he believes there are two systems of justice in this country – one for his family, and one for everyone else. Not only did Hunter Biden refuse to comply with his initial subpoena until threatened with criminal contempt, but he then came before Congress and lied. The Ways and Means Committee’s investigation, and the documents released today, are not part of a personal vendetta against Hunter Biden, but are meant to ensure the equal application of the law,” House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith said in a statement to The Gateway Pundit.

“Lying during sworn testimony is a felony offense that the Department of Justice has prosecuted numerous individuals for in recent years, and the American people expect the same accountability for the son of the President of the United States. Hunter Biden’s lies under oath, and obstruction of a congressional investigation into his family’s potential corruption, calls into question other pieces of his testimony. The newly released evidence affirms, once again, the only witnesses who can be trusted to tell the truth in this investigation are the IRS whistleblowers,” Chairman Smith added.

Glad they are doing this. Hope they continue to prove the cases. But until they are convicted in a court and chained in a dungeon until dead, it means nothing. Justice delayed or totally avoided in these cases, is justice denied.

Teachers Union Boots School Counselor Who Questioned Trans Policies: REPORT

https://dailycaller.com/2024/05/19/teachers-union-boots-counselor-questioned-trans-policies-minnesota-rochester/

para59r

Just saying… there were never any elementary school councilors back in the day. The only objective for a student was you need to finish grade school and go to jr high, where to the best of my knowledge there were no jr high school councilors cause the objective was you need to finish jr high and go to high school where they actually did have school councilors but I’m pretty sure I only ever met with them once a year if that.

Gail Combs

Yup,

Had a councilor discuss what type of jobs you were interested in after high school, what your strengths and weaknesses were and how that fit into your future employment/ advanced study options.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That was pretty much all I ever used mine for. They took one look at my scores and said I could do anything in the US (which turned out not to be true; some schools rejected me). I guess that qualifier was in there in case I was thinking of Oxford or Cambridge.

singingsoul1

My oldest son’s counselor told him he would make a good secretary . He is now a physician. They are more wrong than right. Ito.d my kids they can be anything they want too because this is America. I was the best counselor for them. 😜

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It does depend on the counselor. And maybe his scores weren’t that good in high school (you tell me).

On the downside at the same school, one of the other counselors would carefully wait for some girls’ 18th birthdays and then proposition them. And I know sometimes he was successful.

I did have counselors at my junior high. And high school. In fact in high school there was a “homeroom” class (at least for incoming sophomores–this was a three year high school because we had junior highs then) and it was “taught” by my counselor (they were assigned alphabetically). No assignments, just a way to help us get oriented. I think it stopped meeting after a few months.

So, I installed a timed light switch in the pantry. I’ve probably turned off the pantry light over 200 times in the past year, and its paltry 60-watt incandescent uses more juice than all five of the 6.5W can lights in the main kitchen. I typically discover it when I’m shutting down the place around midnight, while the Fiancee has been asleep since eight, and she probably turned it on when she got home before five (or it’s been on all day because she used it in the morning).

I had to borrow the Fiancee yesterday because the breakers on the main board were mislabeled and the pantry wasn’t on “14A – 20A — Lights — family, laundry, pantry”. Instead, the pantry was on “14B – 20A — Lights — master”.

Today, I flipped off the breaker and started taking it apart. Everything was going swimmingly — I even found a faceplate for the new widget — until I started reconnecting wires. The thing was supplied with orange wire nuts, which are good for little teensy wires, like 18 gauge or something. When this box was wired, it was wired with solid, manly Romex where you have to put some arm on the wire to bend it. You could insert maybe one wire into the metal part of the orange wire nut and if you got an electrical connection after that it was sheer luck.

Now, I have a bin or two of wire nuts in the garage someplace, but (as usual) things got stirred around and anything useful got buried. I looked for them for an hour, then went to Home Depot.

Once I got the right-sized (larger) wire nuts, and trimmed the wires properly, and screwed ’em on and tugged ’em, I could feel confident that they were done right and wouldn’t fail and/or arc. I vacuumed the drywall crud out of the box on general principles. Then, as mentioned, the wires were quite stiff, so I used the neck of an empty wine bottle to shove ’em to the back of the box and did a pretty installation of the switch and face plate.

I’m please at how it went and how it looks now.

Why wouldn’t you just replace the old 60 with a new 60 rated LED?

You shouldn’t be doing improvements on a house you’re going to sell. That switch adds nothing to the value of the house.

Also, you may have outsmarted yourself. What kind of hell will occur when your beloved is in the timered room and the light goes out, leaving her in the dark?

Happy nightmare.

cthulhu

It’s a pantry. A glorified closet. It shouldn’t be lit more than 10 minutes at a time, no matter what kind of light is in there. That it burns more juice than the actual kitchen, which maybe should be lit for hours, is just additional frustration.

The cost of the timer switch was about $35 — or about three LED Lights, if I wanted to leave it on 24/7.

The Fiancee is not going to be caught inside in the dark — it’s only about 42 inches deep, and there’s no room to stand upright inside the doors.

para59r

Of course we can upgrade. Personally I prefer no light and just rely on knowing where I put stuff. But that’s not been working as well as it once did but a tinge of light normally gets me by.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

For most people the LEDs work well. And you can set the color temperature. Incandescents don’t provide a truly white light (because they aren’t as hot as the Sun), and I never cared for that dingy yellow. When I switched to LEDs I mostly got ones with a daylight color temperature. (I was doing this early enough that selection could be limited and I was having to grab what were then “cheapies” because the expensive ones were over $10 each.)

I had three lights in the kitchen, from the same lot, all blow out within a year of each other; I’ve had others (totally different brands) fail too. So they don’t last as long as claimed, but it’s still a fairly rare event to have one blow out. On the other hand, everything could have blown because they were cheap crap. I am pretty sure that’s what happened with that kitchen trio–I think those were the very first LEDs I bought.

In your case, you seem to have a condition that precludes their use, and it must absolutely suck trying to find the new incandescents.

WSB

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Manly Romex–sounds like 12 gauge, which is what you typically want on a 20A circuit. I did almost all of my house in that. The one spot where I went lower (the smoke detector circuit, which didn’t need more than 5A but I gave it 15) took 14 ga, and…wow I was amazed at how much easier that was to work with. You wouldn’t think that would have made that big a difference.

Your labeling woes reminded me. Electricians will typically put both sides of the same wall on one circuit, which makes sense (putting the two sides on two different circuits means two sets of wires running in the wall) from an economic standpoint…but unless great care is taken with labeling, drives one batshit crazy trying to figure out which breaker works what. As you know now (and likely knew before).

I actually bit the bullet on the expense. One breaker, one room. No BS. (Some rooms have multiple circuits, but (except in the case of the smoke detectors), no circuit covers more than one room. SO much easier to figure out which breaker to flip.

cthulhu

My house is about 1900 sq ft. The original 1955 version was more like 1350. I dropped a subpanel entirely for the kitchen remodel and had to upgrade the main panel to do so, so there’s a convoluted mess of circuits. In addition, I documented it before the new panel and figured they’d have the same circuits in the same place……………..HAH!

If you’re a developer, you use more of the 14 ga than the 12 ga. If you’re a homeowner, you run everything as 12 ga and nothing at 14 — and that makes all the wires stiff and balky.

When I was in college, my dorm was wired with + hot in one wall and – hot in my neighbor’s — and the wall boxes fed through. This allowed the maintenance staff to run 220V in my room at one point, and they had to pay to repair my stereo.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That sounds sort of like the way they mandate kitchens be wired. Every other outlet comes off one tap, the others come from the other tap. That does mean that adjacent devices have a 240V difference between them, so whatever you do, don’t stick a knife into two outlets simultaneously. But the real reason to do this was to load-balance between appliances, and you also are required to have an outlet every four feet. (Which is why blenders, etc. have such stupid short power cables now.)

One thing I did do that most will not, is for circuits that require a GFCI, I installed a GFCI outlet in every plug…I did NOT control the whole circuit off one GFCI. The one exception was a box that had four plugs. The GFCI on the left controls the outlet on the right; it’s right there in front of you.

I did this because in a prior house, one of the bathrooms was controlled by a GFCI at the other end of the house in the garage. One day the bathroom lights went dead, and it wasn’t the breaker, so I figured something had broken the line. I didn’t bother with it (no desire to go into the attic and deal with whatever intruder I had). For several weeks I just used the other bathroom, and later on realized that my garage outlet had tripped. I reset it and lo and behold accidentally discovered a few days later I had light in the bathroom again.

What idiot wired that house? A GFCI in the garage, taking down a bathroom at the other end of the house? Who would think to check that?

kalbokalbs

Can’t recall all the details.

Like situation with the home we just vacated.

GFCI tripped, no power with some receptacles. Nearby GFCI OK. Tripped and rest it anyway, a few times. Circuit breakers OK.

Ultimately, it was a GFCI in the garage. No water anywhere close by. Oh well.

Gail Combs

I just wish we HAD a light in the pantry. I have to use a flashlight!

We tried one of the stick-em battery operated but they fall off after a few months.

cthulhu

Gail Combs

I will have to look for them. I want to add additional shelving So that can be part of the project.

cthulhu

That’s what the timed switch is for.

Oddly enough, it’s cheaper to get an electronic timer switch than a mechanical one these days. This one has settings for 10, 20, 30, and 60 minutes because I couldn’t find one that was just 10 — but, even so, it’s better than having me manually turn it off after four-fourteen hours.

Alison

Coothie, We need you at our house! One breaker trips at the oddest times … been replaced, and indoor/outdoor repeatedly tested by two electricians who swear ‘there’s no problem’ 🤷‍♀️

And how do you know that bulb uses more juice than the others??

I’m impressed 😁 And, like DPat, I need incandescent … flourescent & LED set my teeth on edge!!

cthulhu

A breaker trips when there is too much current going from the black wire to the white wire or to the green or bare wire. An intermittent connection between the two is BAD NEWS. First thing to do is identify all lights and plugs that are on that circuit and make a reasonable guess where the wire goes between them and back to the breaker box.

The way modern wiring (Romex) works is that there is a big cable (typically yellow or white) that has three coated wires inside (black, white, and (green or bare)). It runs in the walls or ceilings between metal and plastic boxes. ALL CONNECTIONS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN A BOX. Typically, each box has a faceplate and either a switch or a plug.

An intermittent short can be along the wire if something has pierced both the wrapper and the wire coating. This can be something like rodents gnawing or perhaps a screw to mount something to the wall, or a picture-hanging nail. Inspection of areas where the wires go is warranted, possibly with a contactless wiring detector. These may be quite pricey to fix but can burn your house down if not fixed.

Most shorts, however, will be at a connection. These can be subjected to various levels of inspection. For instance, is the plug or switch original to the house, or has it been modified (dimmers, timers, rocker switches, etc.)? Cut the power on the breaker and take the faceplate off…..are there scorch marks or odd smells? With the power still off, pull the switch or plug out of the box — are there loose wires? Are the wirenuts appropriately installed? Is there any sign of scorching?

Again, this is not rocket surgery, and the downside of not finding and correcting the issue can be quite serious.

As to the amount of juice…..it’s printed on the package when you buy the bulbs.

Gail Combs

Coothie,

I think a plumber’s helper wired this house…

Any way, we have the lights sometimes flash dimly when they are turned off and periodically thru the night.

Hubby does not think it is a problem but it freaks me out.

Any ideas?

cthulhu

When you say “they are turned off”, do you mean they have been off for a while, or immediately after you flip the switch?

Also, is this just certain lights or is it lights in various places?

Last edited 6 months ago by cthulhu
Gail Combs

BOTH!

I have lights where we have not replaced the bulb yet that will glow when the switch is turned to the off position. These are all with two switches one at either end of a hall way.

This also happens with a bulb that is working.

You can only see it at night when it is dark in the room.

pgroup2

You need an exorcist.

Gail Combs

Nah, the ghost here is friendly. It only steals my glasses when it thinks I am due for an eye exam.🙄

Or wakes me up when I over sleep.

barkerjim

You would need to look at the switches themselves. I suspect that one or more of them are flaking out. But the connectors could be loose as well. there are many possible wiring arrangements, so??

Gail Combs

Thanks.

This is a modular and CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP…..

cthulhu

I would try replacing the switches — which should be less than $5 each. If you want to change from toggle to rocker on the switch, you’ll also need new switchplates.

Gail Combs

ThankQ

I will recommend that to hubby.

cthulhu

I should note that this is not leakage between the black and white wires, as the light has to have both functional to operate (at all). This sounds like a leak between black (source) and black (bulb), which would be a leaky switch.

This is good both in that it should be cheap to fix (replace switch(es, if 3-way)) and it has little chance of burning your house down before you fix it.

Gail Combs

ThankQ!

Alison

THANK YOU, Coothie 🤓 I’ll show this to hubby … a bit alarming about possibility of fire!

Another County in Oregon Has Just Approved the Measure to Secede From the State and Join ‘Greater Idaho’

As the Gateway Pundit has previously reported, the ‘Greater Idaho’ movement is an effort by people in the state of Oregon to secede and become part of Idaho.

The whole thing is being driven by people in Oregon who are tired of living under policies driven by the far left in cities like Portland.

Support for the idea has grown over the last two years and another county in Oregon has just approved the measure.

“The Greater Idaho project is cool and all but have you heard of Giga Idaho?”

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

LOL to Giga Idaho.

More seriously, I’d rather Idaho not be renamed “Greater Idaho.” What’s the point? Where’s Lesser Idaho?

Aubergine

Way up at the top, next to Canada. Where you have to take your kid to the school bus stop with a snowmobile in the winter. Seriously, I saw it for myself.

If that’s not “lesser,” I don’t know what is!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I can believe that.

Here, a lot of people build little shacks by the road at the end of their driveway; it’s so their kids have some shelter when waiting for the school bus, from blizzards, rain, wind that people from Chicago never imagined, etc.

I’ve even seen situations where people at the end of a long dead end road will park cars by the intersection during the school day. It’s a driving-age student driving to his bus stop.

Gail Combs

As a Jr high student, our bus stop was a 1/2 mile away on the top of a hill with no trees. One day it was very cold ( about minus 30F) with the wind blowing a gale. My next door neighbor and I put the little girl from down the street between us to help warm her and shelter her from the wind. She had forgotten her mittens and her coat was way too thin. When we got to school we took her to the nurse who sent her to the hospital. She was very lucky not to lose any fingers or toes.

At that time girls HAD TO WEAR DRESSES. Any wonder why I now hate dresses?

pgroup2

Not because the hems kept getting caught on your spurs?

Gail Combs

Actually it was the horse’s hind foot.

And no I am not kidding.

I learned the proper use of spurs on a very well trained dressage horse. If I did not use the spur correctly (AS A REFINED AID) he would remove the spur from my boot!

A Prince of Wales spur is sort of like the eraser end of a pencil. This allows you to touch a very specific spot on the horse’s side. A well trained horse can then use that as a signal telling him what movement you want. Such as move sideways in a side-pass, turn on the forehand, turn on the haunches, canter….

GET RID OF PROGRESSIVE [You can not discipline a child] REARING PRACTICES AND LAWS!!!

Here in NC they were floating YELLING at a kid as ‘Child Abuse’!

Of course when you make every other method of discipline ILLEGAL all you are left with is yelling at your uncivilized kid.

Yelling at kids can be as harmful as sexual or physical abuse: study

New research out of the US and London shows that shouting at children can be just as harmful to them as sexual or physical abuse.

The study, commissioned by the UK charity Words Matter, was published this month in the journal Child Abuse & Neglect. It calls for childhood verbal abuse (CVA) to be officially recognized as a “form of maltreatment.”

In making this determination, researchers from Wingate University in North Carolina and University College London (UCL) analyzed 149 quantitative and 17 qualitative studies examining CVA.

Study authors found that the definitional themes of abuse included “negative speech volume, tone, and speech content, and their immediate impact.”

The most common perpetrators of CVA are parents, mothers, and teachers, the study found…

.

.

Some of the effects of CVA can last throughout a child’s life.

The abuse can create “underlying emotional and psychological repercussions,” which include obesity, increased risks of anger, substance abuse, depression, and self-harm, UCL said in a statement.

Researchers say there needs to be a better way of defining CVA.

Study authors found that the definitional themes of abuse included “negative speech volume, tone, and speech content, and their immediate impact.”

The study noted that throughout the years, childhood emotional abuse has “increased in prevalence.” [If the child has never learned manners via discipline then this is what will happen you idiots!]

“Preventing the maltreatment of children is the most effective way we can reduce the prevalence of child mental health problems,” study co-author and professor Peter Fonagy, head of the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences at UCL, said in a statement.

“A sharp focus on childhood verbal abuse by adults around them by the new charity Words Matter and this review will help make significant change and support and direct our efforts to identify and respond to this risk in an effective and timely manner,” he added…..

mollypitcher5

That makes every Tyler Perry movie a record of CVA. Funny how that works, Madea yells, cusses, swats at and threatens bodily harm at the nogoodnick family members of all ages. She’s the stereotypical black grandma heroine getting the thug influenced young ones or citified older ones to behave.

It is a parents JOB to CIVILIZE a child so they can join society.
