Long story short, my sister and I were driving from Salt Lake City to Jackson, Wyoming, and found this lake. Really, we should have stopped.

One of the sources I read who claims to have inside sources with governments all over the world says that the writers for The Simpsons get scoops from White Hats on the inside trying to warn the populace.

Trump is headed there anyway. Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I understand.

Another ICYMI (this was posted in the comments on Wednesday):

Keep reading here.

Can’t quite figure him out.

Is the legacy media covering this?

My one idiot brother did this. (Gee, thanks.) Although, without it, we would not know we are 1% North African. The British/Irish (trust me, it’s Irish), “other European” and Iberian Peninsula overwhelms that, though.

No white Ford Broncos?

IDK. I wonder if he’s not going to be Epsteined.

The tide is turning.

MEMES and FUN STUFF

Or…as in my neighborhood…there’s a gate blocking the street right where you want to go. I’ve seen more people slam on the brakes….

Umm…that just brings on different insomnia, headache and stress.

Ya don’t say.

A story here in STL regarding the Cathedral Basilica in the last couple days I know isn’t completely true because I was there. There’s a lot more that isn’t being reported, although, that’s probably for the best given the details.

Didn’t everyone have to do the index card thing and cite every quote down to the subtitles? Oh, wait…I was taught by nuns.

Well…I live behind enemy lines. Not so much here.

True story. Those furniture pieces are still in my dad’s bedroom.

That’s not a Border Collie, but that’s beside the point.

Great, pretty unknown movie from 1992.

All opinions here are valued for the diversity they bring to the issues, and the shaping of understanding regarding topics for which many of us do not have all information. Correcting the record on any one topic is appreciated.

Be careful in expressing thoughts as we would all like to think well of the rest of the group, and ill-thought out comments have a way of wrecking that for everyone.

Fellow tree dweller, the late Wheatie, gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

John 15:12-17

12“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17This I command you, to love one another.

Luke 7:36-50

36One of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him, and he went into the Pharisee’s house, and took his place at table. 37And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, 38and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.” 40And Jesus answering said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he answered, “What is it, Teacher?” 41“A certain creditor had two debtors; one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42When they could not pay, he forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?” 43Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, to whom he forgave more.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.” 44Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. 46You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. 47Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” 48And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” 49Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?” 50And he said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Today is a memorial, and both Gospel readings are important.

SATIRE

WEEKEND STARTER

Sea Breeze Cocktail

How to make a Sea Breeze: The recipe we’re sharing today makes 1 cocktail. You simply pour the ingredients in a glass over ice and stir to combine. Either a tall high ball glass or short old fashioned glass works just fine. If you’re entertaining a group, make a large batch by easily maintaining the proportions and scaling up each ingredient to suit how many guests you have.

  • Vodka: Just plain budget-friendly vodka that you would enjoy drinking straight is all you need, nothing fancy.
  • Cranberry Juice: Use cranberry cocktail, like OceanSpray that contains various fruit juices in it. 100% cranberry juice will make the drink too bitter.
  • Grapefruit juice: You can buy this, but since grapefruits are a year-round fruit, we recommend squeezing it fresh.

Have a good one y’all.
