The Real Donald Trump

This is a FASCINATING and (in my opinion) MUST-WATCH interview with one of the photographers embedded in the Trump campaign – Gene Ho.

My thanks to our local poster judyw for alerting me to this video on the daily thread.

Gene followed Trump for TWO YEARS, right up to the election victory in 2016.  He got hired simply by showing up and working Trump’s small initial gatherings, until Corey Lewandowski took notice and started using Gene.  It’s a great story, straight out of Trump-world.  Trump spots go-getters who spot other go-getters.  And Gene worked very hard, as he describes.  The second year – 2016 – was extremely tough.

Gene has published a book of his Trump photography, which (COUGH, COUGH) would make a great stocking-stuffer or New Years gift for ANY real Deplorable (see below).  The book is actually biblically based – perfect for Christmas.  Gene is a strong and very enthusiastic Christian.

The greatest value of this interview, to me, is that Gene is able to articulate something one of Trump’s drivers once said in a small radio snippet which I loved – that those who see Trump up close, know that he REALLY IS a “regular guy” – a man of the people.

For Q followers, the relevant Q stuff starts around 16:30, and lasts quite a while.  I think that Gene’s very rational view of Q will be welcomed by everybody here – and it’s very interesting.  Gene distinguishes “belief” in Q – which he likens to believing that the Dallas Cowboys will win a game next weekend – from the idea of religious faith, which one trusts at a much deeper level.  It’s an interesting idea, and Gene explains it well.

Gene is *extremely* professional – he does not attribute anything to Trump that he does not utterly believe with his whole heart is there, and even deflects questioning on some of the “fringier” Q-movement thinking in a few places where one does not hear things coming explicitly from Trump.  Gene is clearly a very sharp AND very nice guy, who is not interested in anything but the Truth with a capital T.

Anyway, all of this is absolutely fascinating and reassuring to hear from Gene, and I think everyone will benefit by taking the time to listen to this interview.
