This is also what makes Alaska the natural home for something I have waited decades to see. I care immensely about the health of the earth, and after looking at every alternative energy option, I long ago concluded “green nuclear power” was the most viable one we had, then watched the promising designs go nowhere. The most promising is thorium: there is 3–4 times as much of it in the earth as uranium¹ (and since it occurs alongside the rare earths America is now scrambling to secure, we already extract it and then throw it away as radioactive waste), all of it can be used as fuel (rather than the 0.72% of uranium that can, which leaves behind mountains of depleted waste), the molten-salt designs it is paired with have no solid core to melt (if they overheat, the salt expands, the reaction slows, and the fuel drains into a tank without pumps), they produce far less long-lived waste, and they greatly reduce the risk of weapons proliferation, since no enrichment plants are needed.

This raises the obvious question of why it was never adopted. Simply put, the entire American nuclear complex was built as a weapons program with a civilian branch attached, and uranium was the fuel that made weapons. Oak Ridge demonstrated a working molten salt reactor in the 1960s, but in the early 1970s the Atomic Energy Commission committed the country to a plutonium breeder instead, its director Alvin Weinberg was pushed out after eighteen years for continuing to argue his reactor was the safer path, and the program was cancelled in 1973.¹,² Thorium’s low proliferation risk, now its great selling point, at the time simply meant it did not offer what the nuclear establishment wanted. After that, the industry became large enough to keep competitors from getting off the ground (mirroring what I have watched happen with countless forgotten medical technologies).

The result is that the technology now requires a supply chain that does not exist, so two things are needed: a relaxing of regulatory restrictions (which began in May 2025, when Trump signed executive orders setting a goal of quadrupling nuclear capacity by 2050 and ordering the NRC to decide new reactor applications within 18 months)¹ and a very large investment, which is now possible for the first time, as an industry has emerged that needs enormous amounts of power and is willing to pay almost anything for it. The published models place thorium power among the cheapest sources of electricity ($20–55 per megawatt hour),¹,² a fraction of what new conventional nuclear plants cost ($175–255).¹

Note: the money is already moving. The major technology companies have contracted for roughly ten gigawatts of nuclear capacity in two years,¹ and Microsoft signed a twenty-year deal to restart the Three Mile Island reactor that sat beside the one which partially melted down in 1979 (Unit 1, which closed in 2019 for economic reasons), at a price analysts estimate at roughly $110–115 per megawatt hour,¹ well above the projected cost of thorium power.

The timing matters because of how long every step takes. A serious American program could have a molten salt test reactor running by the end of this decade and first commercial power in the mid-2030s, so a decision now decides the second and third waves of data centers. China already has a molten salt reactor running and a public ladder toward commercial units by 2040,¹ so if America waits until those are built to begin, it will be buying the technology rather than fielding it. A campus in Alaska that starts on stranded gas can then switch to a microreactor, then a small modular reactor, then a thorium plant, without ever raising anyone’s utility bill, and the fiber and rail built to support it will remain useful regardless of whether the AI boom lives up to its hype.

I think that it’s really critical for people to put this in the context of the battle between two systems. I want to focus people a little bit on something which I’m sure flew under most people’s radar screen, except for the ones who watched my show the other day, [It] is what Scott Bessent said to the International Monetary Fund… Because when you look at what Bessent did at the International Monetary Fund meeting, every leftist in the world should honestly be cheering this. But they’re not. What he did is completely challenge the fundamental premises that have run the world financial structure going back to 1971 and which has allowed the global financier elite to loot nations, destroy nations, [and] prevent third-world countries from developing. [To] gut advanced sector nations like ours by eliminating the middle class and the working class, creating what the Democrats hope is a perpetual class of poor people. [People] that they can throw some crumbs to and so on while Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have hundreds of millions of dollars…

So, what are the three things that Bessent challenged? First of all, he challenged the core principle of the IMF, which is the way you get out of debt is you cut the budget. And Bessent stood his ground in direct opposition to the head of the IMF… Bessent said, “No, it is growth that is going to solve our problems, and everything we are doing is unleashing that kind of growth.” Second, he had a very subtle reference, but it was definitely there, to the problem of deregulated currencies, floating exchange rates. and said, “This has be addressed in terms of creating perpetual imbalances.

That has been one of the key weapons that the global bankers have used, especially to keep the third world backward. They control currency prices through speculation because we took the dollar off the gold reserve standard. They control commodity prices through the City of London. And the net result of that has been the perpetual unneeded backwardness of many developing sector nations.

Another tool in the bankers’ toolkit, in the globalists’ toolkit, has been the green agenda and being anti-nuclear. And Bessent took that on directly. He said, “Cut it out. Stop making your decisions from hostility to oil and gas.” But even more important, he pledged the the United States to start putting money into a nuclear development fund for the third world. You know how many nuclear loans the World Bank has made since 1959? One, and that was to Italy.

That’s it. But plenty of solar panels, plenty of windmills, plenty of pails so that people can carry water 5 miles from where they are, and so on. So, this was a direct challenge to the underlying premises of this globalist financier elite at that level.

Obviously this administration is doing the same thing domestically because it’s been a lot easier to liberate ourselves than it is to liberate the rest of the world where we’re not the only sheriff in town, although we’re an important one. What the president has done is thrown out the green mandates, challenged the traditional orthodox Republican position that the only way you can get out of the deficit and debt crisis is by cutting. And making very clear, “No, we are going to grow your way out.” And third, by actually unleashing the productive power and base of the United States.

So, on both fronts, what you have is this administration internationally and domestically… is the biggest challenge to the control of the British Imperial financial elite system — it’s generic name is globalization. You know, we see the World Economic Forum, we have the modern names like George Soros and Klaus Schwab and all the rest of them, but this is simply the British Imperial system that we’ve been in a fight [with]. The Ukraine conflict, which Barbara described, has been one of the key strategic cornerstones of that. Because… to challenge this globalist financier system, you need the other major superpowers on your side. You need Russia, you need China, you need India, you need Japan. Those are pretty much the big ones. And what the president is doing with his team is creating the conditions where these nations, as sovereign nations, can join United States in preliminarily solving some of these immediate problems, like the wars, preliminarily begin uncorking a certain level of development, but I think ultimately what this administration intends is an entirely new international financial system. So, you know, I think it’s important to keep that in mind as we go into the final 10-day countdown for the midterms.

Because the City of London, the imperial system, the most cardinal rule in their playbook is you do not let the developing sector actually develop. You keep it backward. You know the famous Barack Obama statement, “oh well, if people in Africa all had air conditioning in cars, the climate would boil over.” No, you stay backwards. you keep burning wood for fuel.

This is something that Chris Wright, the energy secretary, is very passionate about. He talks about a million preventable deaths every year because so many people are still using wood and dung, to cook on. Whereas if they had modern energy, you would see, an increase in the standard of living. Well, nuclear power isn’t just modern energy because when you go over the past 30, 40 years, every time you see a developing sector leader wanting to push nuclear power, they usually end up dead or out of power or in exile. Starting with the Shah of Iran, who at a certain point said, “All right, I don’t just want to be a gas station for British petroleum.” You know, I want to develop my country. Boom… You just go on and on and on. Every time a third world leader actually wanted to develop his country using advanced nuclear power boom that was it.

For Bessant to make this explicit, the question of nuclear power for the developing sector this is like the gunfight at the OK Corral….

They’re moving from upstream choke points which is the drilling of oil and the early stages of moving the oil to refining. Now they’re moving to mid-stream and downstream and they’re attacking that aspect of the market.

So as we deregulate the energy markets around the world in order to bring everybody out of poverty, that’s the fight right now.

So, we’re talking about Saudi Arabia, the history of Saudi Arabia, and getting on to Mohammed bin Salman who’s doing deals with Russia to build nuclear power stations in Saudi Arabia, and it looks like he’s going to get away with it because London is a waning power.

You can even go back to the to the 1970s. Richard Nixon’s first Secretary of State, William P. Rogers, had come out of the Eisenhower administration. Of course, Eisenhower was Atoms for Peace. But, Rogers’ approach to the Middle East was nuclear power development as the basis for economic cooperation in the entire region. And of course, he got canned, and Henry Kissinger took on the dual portfolio of National Security Advisor and Secretary of State. Of course, we have the wonderful symmetry today that Marco Rubio wears the same two hats. [laughter] But, from the completely opposite side of what they’re trying to do.

But, yeah, this question of nuclear power is something where you see the hand of the empire in its most brutal and Saudi Arabia working with Russia, just gives you the picture. This is an entirely new world which is flying beneath most people’s radar screens. But it is the much more fundamental change that’s going on in the world. You know, not the little laundry list. Donald Trump isn’t doing anything because he didn’t do… I had the feeling of someone watching somebody, on the Gong Show. He didn’t do this gong. He didn’t do that gong. I mean he’s bringing down the globalist system, you idiots.

I was thinking about this the other day. Every time we bring up this thing about nuclear power… I just think back to the story of Oak Ridge and thorium molten salt and how that was destroyed. I don’t know how that got done under the Kennedy. It was I think done under Kennedy… but they were beginning the process, right? Thorium molten salt ends all of this nonsense because then we don’t have the uranium 233 cycle, doesn’t produce any plutonium. It just produces a surfeit of neutrons and a lot of power and no nuclear waste.

And there’s enough thorium in the seawater that you can ream it up off the Florida coastline and then ship it over to Crystal River… I’ve watched a lot of and talked to a lot of people who were involved in this. That research was not only buried, it was meant to be destroyed completely and it got saved at the last moment. It’s like a spice. It’s like one of these stories that if you were to listen.. There’s a great documentary out there about this. A three and a half or four hour documentary about it and you listen to the story that’s been told about how this information got saved, right? You’re like, nah, that can’t possibly happen that way, but it did because it was the perfect intersection of government perfidy and government incompetence.

So, they just shut the program down and they mothballed it all and then no one was allowed to deal with it and and they were getting around to destroying all the research, all the notebooks and all of this and all of it, but they never got around to it because someone got fired and it wound up in a room somewhere. Then somebody found it all and now the Russians have a pilot plant, the Chinese have a pilot plant, other people [India –GC] are working on it and it’s 20 still 20 years out. We still have a lot of work to do, but imagine if we hadn’t lost those 60 years of metallurgy and and all the chemistry that was necessary to develop the right fluids and the metallurgy in order to create the containment vessels and everything.

As a chemist I know it’s a very aggressive environment. So, that’s another way of saying highly corrosive and highly unstable. And so, if you want to build a 50 year duty cycle reactor system that can, run steady state for 50 years, there’s still a lot of basic materials work that has to be done in order to get us to that point and to scale it up to a reasonable level. But there’s so many angles on this. And they know that once energy is free at that level, and in fact free, they don’t have a choke point anymore.

The sabotage, when I first went to DC for their predecessor organization, one of the first fights we waged was to try and save the Clinch River breeder reactor. If you can reprocess the fuel, you don’t have the waste problem. The waste problem was one of the key things the environmentalists used to have everybody’s hair on fire and everybody’s clear and blah blah blah blah. And we lost because what you had was an alliance between the environmentalist movement and the right-wing budget cutters. That’s what killed the Clinch River breeder reactor. It is sort of like your uni-party. Then you had the sabotage of fusion, which went on for years and years and years. Finally, enough private sector kept it going, and now this administration is encouraging it. We should have had it 30 years ago talking about virtually free energy. This is this has been the the critical component of the imperial playbook. You have to prevent economic development, which means you prevent the energy. So, the choke points, the money, and so on. But the new technologies, which make your choke points completely irrelevant, make blowing up refineries irrelevant. If you’ve got these new kinds of technologies, and that’s what’s being unleashed.

I could write an entire article on the bio-fuel scam and WHO benefits. Instead a few points. Fruits and veggies do not get USDA subsidies grains do. That means feed lot cows are subsidized by US tax payers making feed lots cheaper than grass. Many grains are GMO so the seed has to be bought each season, as well as the fertilizer & insecticides. Again ALL is tax payers funding Big Ag with the farmer as the conduit.

Congress pushes hemp crackdown after pressure from states

A provision significantly limiting the sale of intoxicating hemp products made its way into legislation to reopen the federal government just a day before the Senate approved the bill. Its inclusion follows years of pressure from states and the marijuana industry.

While states continue to expand access to legal marijuana, a separate market of hemp-derived intoxicants has blossomed. The products, from drinks to gummies, are sold in gas stations and smoke shops. Critics say some companies have exploited a legal loophole from 2018 to manufacture products that get people high — without the safety regulations and taxes facing the legal marijuana industry.

That’s led dozens of states to limit or ban certain intoxicating hemp products. Most states also have pushed for federal changes, though some farm states worry the pending federal bill — which the House is expected to vote on as soon as today — goes too far.

A bipartisan group of 39 state attorneys general recently urged Congress to clarify the federal definition of hemp, arguing that the underregulated industry threatens public health and undermines law enforcement…

Senate Rejects Attempt To Save Hemp Industry

The Senate has rejected an amendment to a critical spending bill that would have removed language to ban hemp products containing THC.

After the chamber cleared the appropriations minibus package for floor consideration on Sunday, senators on Monday took up the measure from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) that he said would prevent the eradication of the hemp market that’s matured since the crop’s federal legalization under the 2018 Farm Bill.

The amendment was killed in a 76-24 vote on a motion to table.

“My amendment would strip the provision designed to regulate the hemp industry to death. The bill, as it now stands, overrides the regulatory frameworks of several states, cancels the collective decisions of hemp consumers and destroys the livelihoods of hemp farmers,” Paul said on the floor ahead of the vote. “And it couldn’t come at a worse time for America’s farmers. Times are tough for our farmers.”…

Judith Curry’s remarks, as usual, are dead on the money. Here’s an almost perfectly analogous problem: CNN recently completely reversed its editorial policy and now calls for the legalization of Marijuana. Sanjay Gupta, its “resident physician editorialist”, who had previously somewhat vigorously led this opposition from the scientific point of view completely reversed his own position, and explained why in considerable detail both in text and in online video.


Historically, marijuana was both legal and considered to be a useful medicine all the way up through the beginning of the twentieth century. At that point, William Randolph Hearst had invested heavily in pine forests in Mexico, intending to sell them to his own newspapers to make newsprint. The Dupont family were discovering petrochemicals including plastic and oil-derived pharmaceuticals. A machine was invented that was the equivalent of a “cotton gin” for hemp — it mechanically stripped down the hemp plant and turned it into useful fiber, oil, and vegetable waste that could be used as an animal fodder (yes, we can imagine some very happy cows, can’t we?:-). One of many uses for the now inexpensive hemp fiber was to make equally inexpensive newsprint paper that was clearly superior in quality and cost to wood pulp paper. Another was that the oils and fiber could be used to synthesize various chemical products. Both Dupont and Hearst were suddenly hundreds of millions of dollars at risk.


They turned to Harry Anslinger, who happened to be Hearst’s brother in law. Anslinger was a suddenly idle ex-prohibitionist working for the FBI, and he created a propaganda campaign that portrayed hemp as literally maddening those that actually smoked it, leading them to commit acts of rape and robbery and moral turpitude. At the same time, political revolutions in Mexico (funded and fought by a private army belonging to Hearst) and a negative portrayal of blacks and mexicans as common users of hemp for recreation purposes added a useful racist hook. Between these, congress outlawed hemp.


So matters remained until the Viet Nam war and the 1960s and early 70s. As part of the quiet “revolution” against what many perceived as a military-industrial complex with a life of its own that was fighting a series of expensive and pointless wars, pot had become “the” recreational drug of choice among young hippies and freaks as well as the military draftees who fought the war. Its use was so prevalent that Texas dropped the question about cannabis use from its entrance exam to police academy, because “asking a vet of they had ever smoked pot was like asking them if they smoked Camels”. Suddenly a large fraction of an entire generation of U.S. citizens had smoked pot and discovered that no, it does not turn you into a crazed rapist, and usually does not make you insane unless you are most of the way there on your own already. They also discovered that it is neither physically addictive nor dangerous in the sense that it is literally impossible to overdose on marijuana — it is literally one of the safest compounds we know of, with no meaningful fatal dose.


However, Ronald Reagan took office in the 80’s, an immediately declared a “War on Drugs”. Marijuana was reclassified as a schedule 1 narcotic by the federal government, trumping communities that had already begun to experiment with decriminalization or even legalization. This once again gave law enforcement agencies lots of useful work (helpful if you are trying to build a police state), gave cops everywhere the ability to selectively enforce drug laws and thereby control the populace, and caused us to rather suddenly need to build enormous numbers of prisons because it rapidly turned out that by making marijuana trafficking a felony and putting even mere users in jail (just like heroin, cocaine, and actually dangerous drugs) somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of all prison sentences were being handed down for low grade drug offenses. Our expenditure on controlling pot went from next to nothing to tens of billions of dollars a year. Obviously, many profited from this, including (as usual) the money launderers and organized criminals that made fortunes providing marijuana on the black market, and the politicians and bankers that provided well-paid-for top cover.


And now to the interesting bit (although I think all of the above is interesting:-). One of the reasons given for making marijuana a schedule 1 felony class drug was that we didn’t know about the harm it might cause, and there was no known medical benefit. Yes, it had been used as a medicine for centuries, the founding fathers literally “mandated” the growing of hemp on American farms because it was so useful a plant both industrially and medicinally, but we had entered the era of double blind placebo controlled drug trials, and there were now enormous pharmaceutical companies whose billion-dollar products were at risk, dwarfing even the Duponts’ complaint back in the 30’s. Its risks were similarly unstudied.


A period of research then ensued. If you wanted to study pot, you had to both get funded and get the experimental marijuana from a single, small farm in Mississippi that grew “legal” pot for this purpose. The government itself was in complete control, in other words of what research got conducted, because even if you could find outside funding, you couldn’t get legal pot to do the research with without approval.


Gupta initially opposed marijuana legalization because a review of the medical literature showed him that 96% of all published articles found some sort of negative effect of marijuana, and almost no articles showed a benefit, especially compared to existing approved medications. However, a couple of anecdotal cases coming out of the states that had legalized medicinal marijuana in SPITE of the federal governments laws caused him to go back and reexamine the funding model. In retrospect it shouldn’t have been surprising, but he learned that 96% of all funded research was to look for negative effects of marijuana, and that to get funded and permission to get government grown pot was so difficult that there simply weren’t all that many papers in the first place. In well over thirty years of intensive examination, all of the examination was literally preselected to find problems, almost none to find benefits, and one had to walk on water and push much paper to do either one (and relatively few scientists had bothered).


That caused him to examine the body of emerging, still anecdotal, evidence from the states that had legalized medical marijuana. They showed that — again unsurprisingly — marijuana is a rich pharmacopeia with multiple legitimate medical uses that could survived double blind placebo controlled investigation, while at the same time having minimal side effects and no known lethal dose. Perhaps he came to realize that its negative effects might, conceivably, have been a bit exaggerated or might arise from confounding uncontrolled elements. Confirmation bias is, after all, the bete noir of science.


This situation almost perfectly matches the evolution of “climate science”. Nobody cared about it for decades, but suddenly a group of individuals emerged that all benefited from the demonization of carbon. This included environmental groups, that hated civilization itself and the burning of anything (as long, of course, as their own lifestyle was preserved), energy producers that saw in this the opportunity to triple or quadruple their profits by creating artificial scarcity of a plentiful resource, politicians that saw in this the opportunity to raise taxes, get elected on a world-saving “issue”, and perhaps line their own pockets along the way, and a United Nations that saw an opportunity to transform it into a way to tax the rich nations and transfer money to developing nations (while again lining various pockets along the way). The role of Anslinger was admirably met by one James Hansen, a True Believer who never stinted and does not stint today in exaggerating the data and claims of disaster (five meter sea level rise! temperatures like that on Venus!). And suddenly, quite literally all funded research was on how burning carbon was bad for the climate.


Even completely ethical scientists have to eat, and if the only way they can eat is to get funded, and the only way they can get funded is to submit proposals that seek to prove that CO_2 is bad, guess what they will propose to study? And if they want to get funded AGAIN, guess what they will find? Climate science has been effectively corrupted beyond any hope of objectivity.


On the good side of things, scientists are actually usually pretty ethical. Also, in the end data talks, bullshit walks. The hypothesis of CAGW or CACC could, in fact, be true (across a wide spectrum of the meaning of “true”, in fact). However, recent data is not in good correspondence with the theories that have predicted it, and many good scientists are in the process of reassessing their conclusions. As is the almost simultaneous case with regard to marijuana, the confounding evidence is starting to overwhelm to narrowly funded and directed arguments to date. We will see where the future takes us, in both cases.

Pot Shrinks Tumors; Government Knew in ’74

In 1974 researchers learned that THC, the active chemical in marijuana, shrank or destroyed brain tumors in test mice. But the DEA quickly shut down the study and destroyed its results, which were never replicated — until now.

The term medical marijuana took on dramatic new meaning in February, 2000 when researchers in Madrid announced they had destroyed incurable brain tumors in rats by injecting them with THC, the active ingredient in cannabis.

The Madrid study marks only the second time that THC has been administered to tumor-bearing animals; the first was a Virginia investigation 26 years ago. In both studies, the THC shrank or destroyed tumors in a majority of the test subjects.

The story summarized by that headline ran in O’Shaughnessy’s (Autumn 2005), CounterPunch, and the Anderson Valley Advertiser. Did we win Pulitzers, dude? No, the story was ignored or buried by the corporate media. It didn’t even make the “Project Censored” list of under-reported stories for 2005. “We were even censored by Project Censored,” said Tod Mikuriya, who liked his shot of wry. 

It’s not that the subject is trivial. One in three Americans will be afflicted with cancer, we are told by the government (as if it’s our immutable fate and somehow acceptable). Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the U.S. and lung cancer the leading killer among cancers. You’d think it would have been very big news when UCLA medical school professor Donald Tashkin revealed that components of marijuana smoke -although they damage cells in respiratory tissue- somehow prevent them from becoming malignant. In other words, something in marijuana exerts an anti-cancer effect.

Tashkin has special credibility. He was the lead investigator on studies dating back to the 1970s that identified the components in marijuana smoke that are toxic. It was Tashkin et al who published photomicrographs showing that marijuana smoke damages cells lining the upper airways. It was the Tashkin lab reporting that benzpyrene -a component of tobacco smoke that plays a role in most lung cancers- is especially prevalent in marijuana smoke. It was Tashkin’s data documenting that marijuana smokers are more likely than non-smokers to cough, wheeze, and produce sputum.

With the ECB hiking rates this week we’ve seen a big move by capital markets, especially on Friday, the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, where bond markets globally sold off more than 10 bps.

To my conspiratorial mind this was a warning shot to the Fed, the US, the Trump Administration and the gods themselves, that Davos and their London sycophants are not going down without the fight of our lives.

The reality is that Lagarde raised to protect euro-bond/JGB carry spreads and to punish Germans for voting populist. Meanwhile, the UK is looking at a breakup, to ensure that there is no country left, freeing the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish to rejoin the EU and finally betray BREXIT completely.

Christine Lagarde hiked into an energy supply shock because of Keynesian dogma, or so the story goes. It was a policy mistake of epic proportions. And in response, the bond market sell off globally was intended to force Kevin Warsh at the Fed to make the same policy mistake.

CPI, employment, labor, and producer price data clearly do not warrant a rate hike from the Fed. Lagarde sparked a dollar liquidity spasm into the weekend with this and the Financial press tried to sell it as a statement by bond vigilantes that the Fed must hike.

Nonsense. The MOVE index sits at 82.2 after that. Break-even rates are still below 2%

Oil prices are elevated on future supply refilling but that is clearly transitory.

The real story continues to be in the those aforementioned carry spreads, which Trump pushes Canada into a war which will not end well for them…

This program that Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent is rolling out with FINcen seems to streamline the bounty system while focusing on the critical evidence: the money.

“Follow the money” is a notorious refrain not only in the Q Research community, but in the entire cultural ethos of “criminology” as well. Whether you are talking about a crime drama presented as a work of fiction on Netflix, or academic detective work, forensic accounting is the ideal method of mapping out criminal networks because the money flow is objective and traceable.

If you’ve listened to the past few episodes of Breaking History, we have been discussing FINcen and the Egmont Group. While FINcen is the financial crimes intelligence unit in the US government, the

Egmonth Group is an international network of over 170 of this type of intelligence unit from nearly every government on earth. The purpose being to share in this intelligence.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro was sanctioned by the Treasury Department last year, [October 24, 2025] and in the sanctioning document Petro is accused of getting Colombia’s financial crimes intelligence unit suspended from Egmont for allegedly sharing information he collected from the Egmont servers.

It is fascinating that both Petro and Maduro have accused all of the most powerful banks in the US and Europe of literally being the cartels. Petro says that it is institutions like Egmont Group that allow the criminality to continue and prosper, because it covers for them.

Bessent’s strategy is brilliant because it creates a practical incentive structure and has a reliable source of reward money. It also inherently targets the core culprit in all organized crime syndicates: the financial institutions.

We are going to pay criminals to rat out their friends. We are going to pay bureaucrats and accountants to blow the whistle on shady stuff they see around the office. And we are going to pay them with the money collected from fines imposed on the guilty parties. The idea being that the investigations will lead to criminal referrals and indictments.

Scott Bessent is weaponizing the financial system against itself by tapping into base human instincts.

🤔TIMELINES, PATTERNS & THE DEBRIEF

I’m not a lawyer. I’m not an intelligence officer. I’m not a government official. I’m a guy who works in construction who has spent six years reading primary sources, tracking enforcement actions, and building a workbook that now contains more than six hundred and thirty documented events across five countries and more than forty jurisdictions.

I’m not going to ask you to believe me. I’m going to ask you to look at what the government itself has said, in its own documents, on its own letterhead, and decide for yourself whether what you’re watching on the news makes more sense once you’ve seen the blueprint underneath it.

And at the end, I’m going to show you the evidence that cuts against me. Because if I only show you the parts that fit, I’m not an analyst. I’m a salesman.

Here is the case.

EXHIBIT A They built the machine.

After September 11, 2001, the United States government constructed a financial surveillance and enforcement architecture unlike anything in human history. This is not disputed. The agencies exist. The laws were passed. The executive orders are published.

They created the legal authority to trace every dollar moving through the global banking system. Section 314 of the PATRIOT Act gave them the ability to query every financial institution in America about any person, simultaneously. They created the

ability to map networks. Treasury’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis established December 2003 describes its own analysts as using all-source intelligence to, and I’m quoting their own press releases, “map illicit financial networks.” They created the

ability to cut anyone off. Section 311 gives them the power to designate any foreign financial institution as a money laundering concern and sever its access to the U.S. dollar.

They tested it on small banks in Myanmar in 2003.

They tested it on Banco Delta Asia in 2005.

By 2007, the weapon was battle-tested.

They created the ability to freeze assets without warning. The PATRIOT Act amendment to IEEPA allows blocking pending investigation. Freeze first, notify later. Every OFAC action since 2001 traces to this authority. And they connected all of it together.

In September 2004, FinCEN signed a formal memorandum of understanding with every major federal banking regulator the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, OTS, NCUA. The MOU established a standing, bidirectional information pipeline. Law enforcement intelligence could flow to banking supervisors. Examination data could flow back.

The MOU specifically contemplated financial crime issues with and these are the document’s exact words “national systemic impact on the banking industry.”

By 2006, FinCEN was connected to the SEC.

By 2007, OFAC compliance was embedded inside Federal Reserve safety-and-soundness examinations.

By July 2008, the Fed and SEC signed a direct information-sharing agreement covering mortgage markets, credit derivatives, securitization, and counterparty relationships. Eighteen agencies.

Created or reorganized between 2001 and 2008. Covering terrorism, finance, borders, intelligence, military command, WMD, cyber, and cargo.

All built around the same operational concept: find the network, map the network, track the network, isolate the network, dismantle the network.

I didn’t write those documents. They did. And they published them. The machine exists. That is not a theory.

EXHIBIT B The authorities that matter never get turned off.

Let me be precise here, because precision is the whole point. Emergency authorities under IEEPA do get terminated. Zimbabwe’s was ended in March 2024. Côte d’Ivoire’s in September 2016. Liberia’s in November 2015.

Of seventy-seven national emergencies declared under IEEPA since 1977, forty-six are still running as of last year. Thirty-one were shut down. So the authorities are not permanent. Somebody decides.

Now look at which ones nobody ever decides to end.

Narcotics trafficking declared 1995. Still active.

Terrorism declared 2001. Still active. Transnational criminal organizations declared 2011. Still active.

Malicious cyber activity declared 2015. Still active.

Serious human rights abuse and corruption declared December 20, 2017. Renewed every single year since, by two administrations that agreed on nothing else.

Election interference declared 2018. Still active.

Cartels renewed July 16, 2026, eight weeks ago.

Zimbabwe gets released. The network authorities never do. That’s not a coincidence of paperwork. That’s a choice, made annually, in writing, published in the Federal Register, by presidents of both parties who were actively trying to erase each other’s legacies on everything else.

The government currently holds simultaneous emergency authority over every category of threat this workbook tracks. All at once. Right now.

And the machine that uses those authorities FinCEN, OFAC, the entire post-9/11 financial warfare stack has been running continuously for twenty-five years.

EXHIBIT C They let the network operate.

This is the part people struggle with.

Why didn’t they stop it sooner? Because that’s not how intelligence operations work. And we know this because the government has publicly admitted to doing exactly this repeatedly.

ANOM. The FBI secretly built and ran an encrypted phone platform. They let criminals adopt it. For three years, drug traffickers, arms dealers, and money launderers used it thinking it was secure, while every message went straight to law enforcement. When they rolled it up: eight hundred arrests. Sixteen countries. One morning.

Hansa Market. Dutch police secretly seized a darknet marketplace. They didn’t announce it. They ran it for a month. When AlphaBay was publicly taken down, users flooded to Hansa straight into the trap. Thousands of identities harvested.

EncroChat. French and Dutch intelligence penetrated the encrypted phone network used by organized crime across Europe. Monitored it for months. Then rolled it up. Six thousand five hundred arrests.

The crypto enforcement record we track shows an average of eight point seven years between the crime and the prosecution. Not because prosecutors are slow. Because they were watching. Building the map. Letting the blockchain record every transaction. And then prosecuting when the map was complete.

This is the “let it ride” doctrine. You find the network. You don’t kick down the door. You let it operate. Every transaction is a receipt. Every connection reveals another name. Every day the network runs is another day of evidence building itself.

The criminals do the work for you. They think nobody is watching. So they get comfortable. They get sloppy. They bring in their cousins, their bankers, their lawyers. And every single connection goes into the map.

EXHIBIT D Then they activated. Everywhere.

In December 2017, Executive Order 13818 pointed the machine at a new target. Not just terrorists. Not just rogue states. The transnational criminal network class operating through legitimate institutions. Across borders. Across continents. Everywhere the network touches. What we have documented is not five countries acting alone.

It is five sovereign powers the United States, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and India who are geopolitical adversaries on nearly every other issue, conducting parallel enforcement operations against the same network class, on overlapping timelines, without opposing each other’s enforcement actions. That is the spine.

But the spine is connected to a body.

Forty-plus jurisdictions are participating in the same enforcement wave. Not because one country told them to. Because the network class operates in all of them, and the enforcement architecture reaches all of them.

INTERPOL’s Operation First Light, this year five thousand eight hundred and eleven arrests, two hundred and ninety-three million dollars intercepted, ninety-seven nations, in one operation running January through April.

And here is the detail nobody reports. INTERPOL has run First Light since 2014. It is funded by China’s Ministry of Public Security. With support from ASEANAPOL, the Gulf Cooperation Council police organization, and Europol.

Read that again. A Chinese-funded, INTERPOL-coordinated operation producing arrests in ninety-seven countries including the United States. Beijing pays for it. Brussels supports it. Riyadh participates. Washington participates.

You are told these countries are on the brink of war with each other. They are co-funding the same police operation.

The extended cooperation arc documented in our workbook three hundred and forty agencies, sixty-five countries, four point four billion dollars in lifetime frozen assets.

And here’s the cleanest single sequence in the entire workbook. One organization Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación. Eleven separate enforcement actions. Nine different sovereign governments. Seven agencies. Six distinct legal instruments. Eighteen months. Nobody announced a joint task force. Nine sovereigns hit the same organization anyway.

The European Union and United Kingdom issuing joint sanctions against thirty-three Russian FSB cyber targets in a single coordinated action. The United States and United Kingdom publishing joint enforcement guidance for the first time. The United States and Saudi Arabia jointly sanctioning Hezbollah financial networks. Canada and the United States dismantling Punjab-based transnational crime syndicates together. Australia sentencing Sam Gor network leaders to fifteen years.

Twenty-plus bilateral deals signed since April 2025 not trade deals. Enrollment deals. Each one contains enforcement cooperation provisions, anti-money-laundering requirements, intelligence-sharing architecture. Jordan. Vietnam. South Korea. Japan. The UAE. Each country that signs isn’t just making a trade agreement. It’s joining the enforcement infrastructure.

This is not five countries having a coincidence.

The phrase I use is coordinated capacity, not central command. Nobody is running a war room telling forty countries what to do on Tuesday. What is happening is that forty-plus countries independently possess the same enforcement tools, face the same network class embedded in their own institutions, and are activating against that network on timelines that converge because the network itself is global, and the cleanup has to be global to work.

You cannot clean a house by sweeping one room if the dirt tracks through every hallway. You sweep every room. At the same time. Or the dirt just moves.

In the last eighteen months alone:

Six Latin American criminal organizations designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations with the first financial network sanctions hitting within thirty-five days of designation. A Mexican cartel co-founder sentenced to life with a fifteen billion dollar forfeiture the largest in American history. A trade statute from 1930 used for the first time in ninety-six years with the required commission re-stacked three days before the weapon was fired. Spain’s largest hotel chain pulling thirty-four properties out of Cuba in a single week because sanctions made it impossible to operate. Crypto exchanges having their cloud servers seized.

China running purges through six separate institutional domains the energy sector, the securities regulator, the defense establishment, the Politburo itself, a transnational laundering conglomerate, and finally the national banking regulator. Saudi Arabia arresting two hundred and ninety government officials in two months. India raiding money laundering operations across multiple states. Russia purging its own oligarchs.

And in the spring of 2023 five financial institutions failed in eight weeks. Silvergate. Silicon Valley Bank. Signature. Credit Suisse. First Republic. Every one of them a bridge between the old rails and the new ones. Some paid fines and rebuilt their compliance function and survived. Some didn’t survive. That is not a banking crisis. That is a sorting mechanism.

Every action follows the same construction schedule. Build the legal tool. Staff the institution. Fire the weapon. In that order. Every time.

EXHIBIT E The system was designed to survive its own disruption.

The United States maintains an active, continuously funded, heavily classified continuity of government architecture. Raven Rock Mountain Complex is a strategic battle-command platform their words, not mine undergoing forty-two million dollars in classified modernization right now. The FY2027 budget request for Raven Rock continuity equipment is explicitly classified.

The Emergency Federal Register maintained at a continuity facility in West Virginia ensures the government can continue publishing legally effective orders even if Washington is destroyed. Presidential Emergency Action Documents pre-drafted classified executive orders sitting ready to sign have existed since the Cold War. As of 2017, there were reportedly fifty-six in effect. None has ever been declassified.

And on June 23, 2026 eleven weeks ago the White House published the America-First Resilience Strategy. It calls for distributed command and control across regions of the United States, secure networked communications, and continuity of the economy during disruption by preserving payments, liquidity, and trusted information flows.

Distributed command. Financial continuity. Payments. Liquidity. On the same page. From the White House.

EXHIBIT F The receipts arrive on a schedule.

Every OFAC sanctions notice in the Federal Register contains two dates. The date the action was issued and the date it was published. They are never the same. The action always comes first.

The publication comes days or weeks later. This is printed on every notice. In plain English. The government is telling you on its own letterhead that the enforcement happened before you read about it.

The banks were already notified. The assets were already frozen. The target was already cut off. By the time the Federal Register publishes the notice, the operation is complete. The publication is the government telling the public what it already did.

Everything you read in the news is the last chapter of a story that started years ago.

EXHIBIT G Now here’s what cuts against me.

I told you I’d show you this part.

In the last several weeks, four things happened that my framework did not predict and cannot easily absorb.

One. The beneficial ownership reporting requirement the rule that was going to force every American shell company to disclose who actually owns it was permanently eliminated for domestic companies. That was the single most important transparency rail in the entire architecture. It’s gone. Foreign-owned entities still have to report. American ones don’t.

Two. Enforcement of Russian sanctions evasion went quiet for seventeen months, then resumed. Seventeen months.

Three. Ahead of a summit in Alaska, sanctions were suspended by emergency authority. Not lapsed. Suspended. Deliberately.

Four. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s protective injunction was vacated. The agency that supervises the consumer end of the financial system is being dismantled. [Elizabeth Warren Built the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — GC]


All four of those happened while the same Treasury Department levied a record anti-money-laundering penalty against UBS, designated Iranian exchanges, and the Justice Department stood up a five-hundred-prosecutor fraud division.

Same government. Same Treasury. Same Secretary. Same week.

There are two honest ways to read that, and I cannot falsify either one. The first reading is that this is a sorting mechanism operating by design. Enforcement expands against the network while supervision of ordinary business contracts. Front door opens, back door closes. Deliberate.

The second reading is simpler. It’s one administration with contradictory policies, doing two incompatible things at once because different people are running different pieces.

I don’t know which is true. Neither does anybody else who’s honest about it. Both survive the evidence.

And Russia is the hardest case in the whole workbook. Russia purges its own oligarchs and receives sanctions accommodation in the same quarter. It is not cleanly activated. It is not cleanly accommodated. It is both, simultaneously, and I have watched the same waiver lapse and reissue twice now on a pattern I can document but cannot explain.

Nine years of tracking. Zero predictions falsified. And I want to be very direct with you about that number.

Zero falsifications is not a victory. It’s a warning. A framework that never gets anything wrong is usually a framework that isn’t specific enough to be wrong. That’s why I write down, in advance, with hard dates, exactly what would prove me wrong. And that’s why I’m reading you the four counter-signals instead of the four confirmations I could have picked instead.

THE QUESTION I’M ASKING YOU TO ANSWER

I’m not asking you to believe that a secret government is running the world from a bunker. I’m not asking you to believe in any conspiracy. I’m asking you to look at what the government itself has documented, published, and funded and ask yourself one question:

Does what you’re watching on the news make more sense now?

Does the timing make more sense? Does the sequencing make more sense? Does a Chinese-funded INTERPOL operation arresting people in ninety-seven countries make more sense? Does nine sovereigns hitting the same cartel in eighteen months make more sense? Does the pattern build the tool, staff the institution, fire the weapon, every single time make more sense?

The machine was built after 9/11. The authorities that matter were stacked and never released. The intelligence was gathered for years while the networks operated. The map was drawn. The deals were made. The cooperators were turned. And then, starting in December 2017 and running every year since, the enforcement wave began.

Not in one country. In all of them.

Not against one target. Against the entire network class.

Not with one tool. With every legal authority accumulated over twenty-five years, stacked on top of each other, all active simultaneously, deployed through a system designed to survive anything.

Here’s what I will not tell you.

I will not tell you it’s finished. I will not tell you the good guys won. I will not tell you there’s a date on the calendar when the curtain comes down and everything is made right in a single morning.

That’s not the shape of this thing. This isn’t a flood. It’s an actuarial table. Slow. Distributed. Only legible in aggregate, and only in hindsight. Six hundred and thirty events don’t feel like anything on any given Tuesday. Stacked on one timeline across nine years and forty jurisdictions, they look like something being built.

And it is still being built. Some floors are going up. One of them just came down.

What you are watching right now, today, on your phone, in your newsfeed is not the investigation.

It’s the receipts.

They spent twenty-five years building a machine that can follow every dollar on earth, freeze any account, cut off any bank, designate any target, seize any asset, survive any disruption, and coordinate across more than forty nations.

And now they’re using it.

Whether they use all of it, on everyone, is the part I’m still watching. So should you.

👉Authorities often watch networks for years before acting.

👉Old crimes are producing seizures 8–10+ years later.

👉Now some seized Bitcoin can become a government asset instead of just being sold off.

👉Money escape routes keep getting closed: mixers, exchanges, shadow banks, payment channels.

👉Different laws hit different parts of a network: the people, the money, the banks, the property, the facilitators.

The easiest way to explain our whole argument on a show is:

“I’m not saying every event has one hidden commander. I’m saying the same pattern keeps repeating: get the data, map the network, close the money routes, arrest the people, seize the assets, then harden the system so they can’t rebuild.”

And our strongest question to a skeptic is: “If this is all random and unrelated, why do the arrests, seizures, financial restrictions and infrastructure changes keep landing in the same periods and pushing toward the same result?”

They Can’t Win the United Kingdom; So, They’re Dismantling It (12 minutes)

Barbara Boyd: Today, the first ministers of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are meeting to plan the breakup of the United Kingdom. They claim they are seeking independence. If you know the crimes committed by the UK in recent history, you might be tempted to think this is a very good thing, but it’s not. It’s part of a secret plan for defeating the United States and Donald Trump in the November midterm elections by creating massive instability and turmoil worldwide through psy-war propaganda, economic manipulation, and proxy wars.

The plan also involves Canada joining the EU. Donald Trump is very aware of this goal and he is shooting back. So, the first question we’ll address is who is being dismantled here? Then we’ll show you more of their secret plan. We’ll end by showing you the Trump card President Trump holds.

Now, last week, the nationalist AFD shocked the EU by an overwhelming victory in provincial elections in Germany. And recent coverage says that the nationalist Maria La Pen is leading the race to replace Francis Emanuel Mcronone. In the UK, recent polls say the nationalist and pro-Brexit reform UK would win if Labor Prime Minister Andy Burnham calls a new election. This is mostly because of the UK’s open borders policy and its horrendous economy. But it’s also because Burnham and the Labor Party are openly betraying Brexit and seeking to rejoin the EU.

Here’s President Trump yesterday in Ireland criticizing the absurd EU arrangement where Scotland gets its oil from Norway at very high prices while leaving one of the world’s richest oil deposits in the North Sea completely untouched.

TRUMP: The capital of European oil was in Aberdine. Aberdine was an unbelievable capital and it could be again. But they said if they open up the North Sea, the UK is going to be rich. If they don’t open up the North Sea, the UK is bankrupt. Thank you everybody.

Barbara Boyd: It’s untouched because Scotland and the EU remain committed to the insane policy of net zero and to the City of London, which makes his money on speculating on oil and other commodities, not by producing them. Now, President Trump is only stating the stark reality. He was also stating what most people in England think, not what their overlords tell them about reality.

The reform poverty has long campaigned against the EU and Labor Party net zero energy policies. The Conservative Party agrees that these policies are bankrupting Britain, which has been in an economic crisis ever since 2008. Knowing that England is lost and its votes outweigh the other three countries of the UK, the EU and Labor Party are trying to change who will determine Europe’s future by moving the center of the empire to Brussels. England and Wales were solidly for leave in the 2016 Brexit referendum. Wales has now joined Scotland and North Ireland in wanting EU membership. Otherwise, the populations of Europe and England are anti-EU, anti-NET zero, and anti- Ukraine war. But England won’t matter if you move the votes that govern Europe’s northern flank into three separate capitals that will only answer to Brussels.

You don’t need to win England if England stops being the unit that decides.

Now, President Trump threw a political bomb at this process in Ireland over the weekend when he suggested that the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland unite again, producing joy in Irish nationalists.

Canada, Ukraine pledge 100-year partnership

But putting the three countries in the EU isn’t even the whole story here. What this is about only becomes clearer if you look at Mark Carney’s lunatic actions over the last week about Ukraine, the EU, and the United States…My friend Tom Lango put this image at the front of his newsletter this week. He’s talking about the 100-year partnership between Canada and Ukraine announced by Mark Carney and Vladimir Zuinski in Alberta on September 10th. It was an in your-face rejection of President Trump’s efforts to bring the Ukraine war to a peaceful end. The partnership agreement states that Ukraine’s path to membership in NATO is irreversible. President Trump rejects it because he knows this. Does Canada have the physical capacity to do what Carney says? In his joint press conference with Zillinski, here’s how Carney described Canada’s present production capabilities. He knows the whole thing is a very bad joke.

And now, as Canada undertakes our largest defense rearmament in 70 years, drones will be at the forefront of our mission to build Canada strong, Canada safe, Canada secure. Mr. President, I have to confess that our armed forces currently have but 2,000 drones in our infantry.

Thinking that Canada can somehow immediately become a massive drone factory from the start and without any United States support left me asking whether Silinski shared his stash with Carney during the visit.

That’s not all Carney is doing. On Thursday, he goes to Europe to explore an associate membership for Canada in the EU, according to the Wall Street Journal. Creating an enemy on the northern border is the clear intent. [ An OBVIOUS enemy, unlike the hidden enemy during the last 250 years -GC] The journal piece talks about Canada laying underwater cables to link Europe and Canada and jointly constructing data centers, cloud storage, and new satellite networks beyond the reach of American tech giants. Carney wants to lay the pipelines Canada needs to redirect gas normally pumped across the US border to his new European allies. As soon as the article was published, Canadians and others push back so hard that Carney now says he’s not fully giving up Canada sovereignty for EU membership, just parts of it.

Obviously, the EU in its present dilapidated and failing state is never going to replace the massive and growing US economy as a viable trade partner. But reality is not what we’re talking about here. All of these moves are moves directed at Donald Trump and the midterms. They might be called militarized fantasies and delusions. These guys are also behind the run on the bond market despite the fact that there are no weaknesses in US treasuries. Treasury Secretary Bessent laid out the strength of our treasuries and the total lack of substance behind the propaganda about them in an interview with Steve Bannon’s War Room last week. He said it was a bunch of noise. Let’s hear him.

Barbara Boyd: But that noise is designed to create an artificial financial panic to be blamed on Trump.

Now, there’s every reason to believe that this destructive plot was cooked up back in May when Barack Obama, Senator Elise Slotkin, and a host of other prominent Democrats met with Carney to discuss how to stop Trump. And Trump is very aware that the campaign against him is being heavily run by the Democratic Party’s foreign masters. Take for example diesel which is at the center of the energy inflation right now. Twice this weekend Trump said he told Zelenskyy  to stop hitting Russia diesel refineries which are having a massive impact on world supply. Russia is second to the United States in supplying diesel to the world. Here is President Trump last night.

POTUS Trump: The diesel is being driven up by the fact that It’s [Diesel is] having a hard time coming out of Russia and that’s a case that hurts the world. We got to stop it [The war].

Barbara Boyd: So Ukraine’s bombs are being used to feed the Democrats quote affordability crisis claims against the president here. In the past few weeks, NATO has also become increasingly provocative in staging false flag security incidents throughout Europe and blaming them on Russia. The false claims include claims that Russia tried to drone attack President Zelenskyy ‘s plane and Boris Johnson’s train traveling through Poland. The reality is that precision proximity strikes near the plane and the train were warning shots from Russia. On the battlefield, Ukraine is losing the war. But President Putin said over the weekend that now the Europeans are contemplating sending European troops to Ukraine. If that happens, it will mean war with Europe. Putin underlined that. But as usual, President Trump has an ace up his sleeve that these idiots can’t even believe would be there.

That’s his relationship with President Xi and Modi, who together with the US and Japan constitute the most productive economies in the world. They are collaborating to prevent war, stabilize the financial system, and build the overwhelmingly productive physical economy, which will vanquish the weak and failing globalists. So when people say this election will determine the fate of the republic, and we’re in a war, they’re not exaggerating. The target in this war is the minds of the US population since the enemy lacks the physical means to really fight. In honor of a day in America that led to slavery of all tax paying citizens, April 15, we dedicate this opener. It will not delve much into the history of the income tax’s origin, Gail has already handled that quite well and I urge you to read her works related to it. In them we revisit the period around 1913 and its many federal government related acts of aggression against We the People with the income tax being a big one.

I want to focus more on the way out of it, which #47 and Scott Bessent are orchestrating, now that we know tariffs are going to stay in play. We know the Fed is in process of being neutered and in the process, our petro dollar based fiat currency reserve will change to a version closer to what we had pre 1971 when gold was still the standard bearer and markets were less volatile with their bubbles and busts. Those were the days that brought us these immortal words that are still how it all should go,

#47 already told all of us how our nation can earn it – by him and future Presidents using tariffs.

So, let’s focus on how Trade thinks this may be positioned to go.

National Piggy Bank

Very few people will deny that it seems the entire world has used us as one. My goodness, the tossing money at illegal aliens, NGOs, fraudsters, foreign nations, and a sundry of criminal causes and enterprises of the moment for decades has been mind blowing. Most of us had no idea that trade imbalances were being built through unfair trade practices as long as that cheap shiz from China, Bangladesh, Meh-i-co and such kept showing up on our doorsteps. Once it was starting to be exposed, most of us could not get it off our minds how we have been lied to and used continuously for questionable to horrible purposes that had less than zero long lasting benefit to us. The worst part is it has resulted in a $38+ trillion and climbing national debt. We have all been paying excess taxes to support thieves and war pigs the entire time going back to the Vietnam War.

That is coming to an end. Many simultaneous actions are being undertaken by #47 which will stem the tide and then seemingly all at once, eliminate it. Our role is to keep the pressure on elected officials and the judiciary. We need to help Trump be Trump, to be followed by Vance being Vance, Rubio being Rubio, etc.

Who holds the largest amount of the debt? The same entity that will have #47’s hand pick take over as Chairman soon. Expect things to radically, but quietly change at the Fed and with the changes the national debt picture. Besides lower interest rates, it will probably include the spin out of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into private entities that removed contingent debt from our collective books, marking our strategic reserves of gold and silver to market, market moves internationally to sell some debt, and possibly bankrupting a few complicit mega national banks and even Fed banks that have insufficient cash to meet their requirements.

That is even leaving out the effects of the potential use of stablecoin with blockchain tech.

All of the planned and already staged actions reduce inflation and interest rate volatility. So why is that so important? Simply, for every 1% reduction in the fed funds rate, there is a reduction in debt service interest of $500 – 600 billion. The current rate is 150-200 basis points (1.5 – 2.0%) higher than debt markets, economic activities, employment, and inflation indicate it should be. This has gone on for the entire first plus year of #47’s term. That tells us that at the time of this post that close to $1.5 trillion of our annual deficit is bogus just on that one issue. Why? The Fed has been doing it because some large international banks, their masters, have been running out of cash liquidity. Cutting to the chase – it has been an ongoing manipulation that hurts We the People in exchange for propping up their elitist scum bucket friends.

The dirty, not so secret, secret is they are upside down on derivatives in the big banking world. The Fed with their mega bank cronies, including the Euros, are trying to keep enough cash in the connected banking system to stay afloat. They do that by keeping the Fed Funds rate higher than the economics indicate plus while rolling the currency printing presses. You do not have to be a financial expert to tell which banks are most endangered. Just consider the individual responses to #47 and Bessent’s policies and statements. The move away from fiat currency puts holes in and in some cases sinks many of their boats. Even with that, many nations and mega banks are capitulating worldwide starting in Switzerland and progressing through the EU as Bessent turns the screws. Add in the effects of taking Iran out as a lever of their power and it seems tough times are ahead for many EU globalists. Spain has been particularly offended of late. Oh well…

The obstruction led by Jerome Powell has been criminal and even treasonous in my book. He has been screwing all of us, not just #47, in an effort to save the globalist cabal’s kingdom. America Last has been the Dems and Fed’s mission for many years.

The major ratings agencies have been telling the world for years that our growing national debt is a huge problem. It has not been a secret to anybody. Despite knowing that, the world invested into the debt of America, Inc. Instead of seeking funds from selling debt, It seems that the #47 generated trillions in investment into America to avoid tariffs. That spikes fed revenues over a relatively short period of time and leads to the win in The Golden Age that follows once the old guard’s thieving is kaput.

So what does all of that mean for We the People?

Now that we have identified a relatively easy solution to $1.5 trillion or more in annual deficit just with Fed interest rates being normalized, let’s look at another big ticket annual cost. How many reading this know how much of the federal budget, not the annual overspend (deficit), is comprised of the entitlement program of Social Security?

It is approximately 21% ($1.5 T) of the expenditures annually. Funny, that amount appears again.

One way to look at it is that it is a pretty big chunk that makes up much, if not all of the annual deficit even with the efforts of DOGE and other savings have kicked in. You do understand that the feds do not really lockbox your Social Security contributions, right? It all goes into the same pot and is used for the same grifting even with the separate accounting. They are Ponzi scheming. They are using a growing population’s contributions (including a previously exploding illegal alien population using fake ID’s/SS numbers) to fund existing enrollee funds allocations. Please tell me you remember they just removed over 12 million SS account recipients over the age of 110 or so. All were recipients of monthly checks and likely “voted” in our elections. You do know that most of that money was going to fake ID illegals who funneled it back to their handlers who fund the crooked politicians and government criminals.

Which is one major reason why the cabal members wanted a lot of older people to die with the COVID plandemic (scamdemic, hoax, whatever you want to call it). Scare enough of the sheeple into taking clot shots that accelerate the death rate to improve the actuarial tables to help fund the projected outflow to the criminals.

The problem they experienced has been that more people began to be skeptical about all of the COVID boosters and the fear porn they used. Fool me once applied as the resulting health issues of jabees became ill and died. The first two clot shots did some damage to the 70% or so of Americans who took them. However, to achieve the full kill effect they targeted, they needed far more sheeple to have 5+ shots. You know that is the number from PAVACA’s incredible research.

Meanwhile, MAGA patriots saw through it even when our germaphobe leader still backed his Warp Speed program. He read the tea leaves and backed off somewhat. He went on to have Bobby take over HHS and fully supported him to complete his personal withdrawal from weighing in on the issue, thankfully.

Now, a large number of younger MAGA patriots are doing what Charlie Kirk said to do all along – love Jesus, love country, get married and have babies. #47 along with JD became close to Charlie. They believed in him and the mission of TPUSA. So after he was elected he saw that TPUSA could help save America short and long term. Now the only defense that have are paid fake MAGA influencers who are rapidly declining in influence as their shilling is revealed.

We all knew the enemies of America would drink their own kool-aid and kill themselves off eventually, they always do. The Karens and Kens of baby making age are not into having kids anyway. Most Karens cannot even get a Ken interested in them. much less a MAGA male. Once the illegals were heading home, the left has effectively been isolated and continues to destroy themselves in incredibly stupid attempts to stay relevant.

Enter Trump Accounts and increased BBB child tax credits. Trump Accounts are rewards for baby making to encourage a return to understanding capitalism and the American Way. Funding initially will come from entities and private business people such as Michael Dell and wife. Promises from #47 indicate there is more on the way and it appears funding can even come from future “dividends” he declares from the coffers of America, Inc. Those revenues would undoubtedly come from, drumroll please, tariffs.

If families also invest funds in to their children’s accounts and the feds manage the funds as proposed well, the index accounts they use to produce anticipated historical returns of 8-15% over time will allow our young people to roll the dice and leave the funds invested. Or they can use for education, buy a home, and so on. Program details will be coming in advance of the July roll out.

But wait, there is MOAR!

Back To Social Security

Building Trump Accounts into the psyche and lexicon of the American public opens the door for younger adults to seek personal investment and private retirement funding exclusive of the current Social Security methodology and delivery because they doubt it will exist when they get there. For the record, I doubted as well some four decades ago and yet, here we are still receiving benefits.

For some of of us oldsters, we remember when many employers stopped offering defined benefit pension plans as 401-k style plans were first developed and approved by the federal government. The standard bearing, universally employer offered Defined Benefit Plans are very expensive for employers to maintain and as the average American lifespan increased, even more so. To protect recipients who worked many years to earn good ones, the federal government established an agency, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), to insure all plans. Employers pay fees to the PBGC that insures all recipients will receive their pensions even it there becomes a situation that there are insufficient funds available in each employer pension plan.

Employers sought a less expensive answer for retirement and the 401-k was devised along with other similar plans. Most employers stopped offering defined benefit plans and offered 401-k plans to replace. Benefits for existing participants in the former were frozen at their current levels for existing employees. The employees then began contributing to their own retirements in the latter. Many employers began offering some level of match of the amount an employee contributed subject to individual plan parameters and federal regulations. The better the employer did financially, the more some would contribute. The employee would choose their investments from a smorgasbord of options in mutual funds, bond funds and money market rates. Over time the vast majority of retirement plans have evolved to this type.

At this point, you should be seeing what may be coming with “Social Security” in the future.

Trump Accounts are the educator, the government does the investing for you, just in index funds instead of interest starved Treasuries. So, instead of the low risk, low ball fake SS investment model; they get to prove themselves worthy of the new method that will still be regulated. Unlike Social Security’s Ponzi scheme, Trump type accounts are actually invested into equities and bond markets using index funds. That helps fuel our capitalism based economy. Win-win applies. The returns people receive based on historical performance of index funds far exceeds inflation, treasury bond rates and bank interest on savings instruments.

Again, the current Social Security program is nothing more than a Ponzi weirded Defined Benefit Pension Plan with the federal government tax revenues funding it based on antiquated ways to take care of the income needs of senior citizens. By giving all adult citizens the option to go with a federal government version of a 401-k, which is what a Trump Account resembles, the government no longer has to fund the SS program for those who seek to have better returns and control over their money and futures. The SS funding gets shored up as needed through tariff revenues as all of the old users pass away.

Independence matters. Making market returns is important. Fueling education and investment into capitalism is crucially important. We did not become the greatest nation on earth by being Marxists and compliant sheeple. Patriotic Americans are bold innovators and hard workers.

Your Budget

I hope I do not have to tell you what lowering the interest rates and increasing the fuel and power generation supplies in America does to the costs of household budgets. Then add in what the BBB did to personal income taxes. The snowball rolling downhill has already begun.

It matters to us in flyover country what happens in the Strait of Hormuz. Destroy the sponsors of terrorism and the world gets flooded with oil that we already have more than ample supply of domestically. What does that tell you about future energy costs, which flows into the cost of products and services?

Lower interest rates do not just apply to home mortgages, car loans, and credit cards; the lower rates apply to funds borrowed by businesses as well as government. The fuel and power costs lowers prices the same ways including transportation costs. Less taxes paid are obvious. All of if increases available consumer spending for more and more American made products, which increases jobs and related wage rates and benefits. Meanwhile illegals are going home, who have been taking many jobs at below market wages without paying taxes, yet, voting and receiving government and medical services

All of the activity increases fed tax revenues, reduces government borrowing (bonds), and reduces the interest cost in the federal budget. That accelerates the elimination of the annual budget deficit as well as national debt over time. More international business investment and growth decreases wars just as all of PDT’s economically driven peace deals have done.

Conclusion

By supporting common sense moves the entire annual deficit at current levels should be eliminated at a good, measured pace. The moves even leave ample room for the support of PDT’s proposed military budget increase as the funding flows into job creation as well as preserving our freedom. That expands our national influence and prevents foreign aggression for decades to come. Peace through strength again proves to be the best deterrent there is.

The war pigs still lose along with all of the forever war politicians aligned with them.

2025.12.09 Daily Thread – American Stories: When in the Course of human events – Part 33

This overall Trumpmania lead will have a second part next week. Hang in there, I know these require more reading than you would ordinarily want to do. Maybe you need reading material during the start of the winter doldrums. 😀 At least I hope you do as some of the subjects are pertinent to the times we live in and some of the signers discussed this month are exceptional as we wind this down.

Next year’s dailies from American Stories will be shorter and more celebratory. To better appreciate what We the People will have accomplished with our patriot leadership, we need to “see” them planting the seeds of liberty from which our beautiful nation later grew as well as review the trials and tribulations of these real people, who were just like us.

PDT’s admin is doing so many incredible things it is hard to keep up. Yet, the few negatives are always the first some people run to point out. Human nature I guess. For those still reading that I have not offended or bored yet, going back a month, NYC/VA/NJ have been blue for a long time. They truly treat the tax payer and Treasury’s borrowed funds as their personal piggybanks to raid for whatever they think of they want. I am not trying to disparage everybody who lives there, just the applicable, which happens to be a strong majority. I intend to disparage them. They are leeches whether they know it or not. If they had any sense of decency at all they would stop and assist #47’s administration, or, quit their fake jobs and leave the area.

I know because I spent a number of years visiting, working with and observing these people and the area of our nation’s capitol. I saw some of the inner workings of government and politics tied to the industry of my career. It did not take long to figure it out, most everybody on the Qtree would do so as well given the opportunity.

For example, we already knew northern VA would carry that state with 90+% of the federal workers who reside there with their families being donkey Dems for life going back to their father’s fathers. However, seeing the long view we know that the federal layoffs and dismantling of their gravy trains spills over. Despite their scummy candidates winning, their personal economic pain will continue, not lessen. Many of those federal jobs are not coming back or will be on the chopping block in the future. The Trump Admin will also leave jobs unfilled and allow attrition to handle some of it. The downsizing and decentralization of the federal government will continue. Federal worker unions are being neutered through judiciary decisions. The donkey Dems and their networks will eventually have to find real jobs that do not exist in that region over the next few years. It will take a couple of election cycles for a significant number of them to move out or cry “uncle” before the GOP can assert itself there and take VA into the MAGA fold. Once you head away from the hive to the central and western side of the state you realize MAGA is healthy. Patience is urged, but will be rewarded. Even NJ will gradually come into play because of the same paradigm changing moves of the #47 administration. It is two states anyway – north and south are different.

Some people on our side are missing the timing of all of what #47 and the patriots are doing for the midterms and beyond. To simplify – keep the powder dry until it is time as Q posted and has been done by successful military strategists since gunpowder existed. The attention span of many American citizens is short enough as it is. Many are in the “what did you do for me today?” camp due to impatience or greed. However, for another segment there is real economic pain. The reason for that was summarized quite well by VP JD Vance in the recent cabinet meeting that was televised.

For non-citizens who have also been illegally voting the span of time left to take advantage of We the People is much shorter. They have to make what they make and do quickly before leaving or getting deported. Their days of ripping us off are numbered. We are in the early stages now that will continue to trend well. Those struggling to make ends meet will be seeing that strain ease as that issue is handled and the BBB benefits are realized.

My advice for some MAGA and fence riders is to stop giving lip service about taking the long view and start working with the Patriots to accomplish the long view. The long view is not the midterms or immediate product price relief. The MAGA economic development plan is not being built and implemented based on lowering the price of eggs and providing more affordable housing. Those are benefits of developing and building safeguards and legal protections around an economy that provides those and many other good byproducts from doing things Constitutionally in a capitalist economy. Focusing on micro to the exclusion of macro is what got us into this mess. PDT is bringing a full bore strategy of abundance to all people of the world who seek peace and success. The leftist idgits always operate on power seeking and scarcity of wealth that they can hoard.

Product Prices

The current prices that average Americans pay should not be expected to drop significantly except for those costs that are tied to fuel prices. If they do drop like egg prices have, great, will take it. What matters most is the drop in crude oil prices as that long term strategy impacts product costs worldwide. Worldwide effects are important because of how much we import from other countries and use as consumers. For economic sanctions to work to help stop forever wars and commie aggression, the supply of crude oil has to be increased and domestically controlled. Once some of the international warring is handled by PDT, the world oil supply will strongly increase and with it, significantly decrease fuel costs to users. That is when food and household items will start moving down in price more because they are interrelated. Supplies increase, lesser number of buyers as illegals depart, wars stop so market disruption is less, and as a result prices trend down.

However, there has been a wildcard to address. The corresponding supply of final product fuels being produced from refineries in our country has not been materially increased for decades. We need more refinery capacity to get it to the pump in sufficient volumes to drop the prices to where most Americans can really benefit. #47 and the GOP are on it, the plans and development for it are being completed behind the scenes and out of the fake media. Another factor in why the gas prices have not dropped even faster is that PDT has been refilling the strategic oil reserve that Brandon depleted to pretend gas prices had stabilized in the lead up to the 2024 election. When that is finished there will be less crude oil demand and more supply available, which drops prices. But for now, national defense matters. PDT is using the current positive momentum to take care of our security needs as a nation.

This point is important. The first major new refinery since 1976 – a half century – is being built in Brownsville, TX and will come on line in 2027. It will add 160 K barrels a day to the nation’s supply. That is a roughly 1% increase of current domestic production. As discussed above we need more refining capacity to replace aging facilities and add capacity to existing wherever possible. To accomplish they had to neuter the EPA and state government resistance. That takes some time. About 20% of domestic refining production is in blue Cali under Newscum. So, who do you you think has been undermining the overall industry there? Yup.

The primary, macro way to clear the restrictive decks to increase capacity and thereby lower pricing at the pumps is through deregulation and declaring a national energy emergency. That cuts the red tape and leftist ability to obstruct. Well, guess what happened on the first day of #47’s term? Yup, refining was included in this EO.

Moving on, if prices of food and household items only stabilize or drop moderately in the short term, what else can we expect? With vehicles as an example, #47 and cabinet already handled the emissions issue that drove up prices by a $1000 + per average vehicle with even more costs to be added to comply in the future with the onerous (or is that odorous?) manufacturer fleet mandate that forced EV on the nation. As a result we can expect big ticket items to stabilize in price where they are and possible drop a little. If that happens, how does the average American who cannot afford them now get by? The answer is Increased income, which is primarily real wage increases plus reduced taxes. The sources for that increase in available household incomes are; the federal income tax bite is much smaller, child tax credits went up, long term interest rates are trending down, the manufacturing sector wage base is strongly increasing in job quantity and compensation, illegals taking jobs and housing is strongly declining, reduced legal immigration taking available jobs is happening and so on.

More good jobs with benefits + smaller labor pool available to work said jobs + much stronger economic activity overall + lower tax bill = Rising wages, personal incomes and greenbacks available for average Americans across all aspects of the economy.

Trojan Horse Issues

#47 and patriots are addressing the employer use of non-citizens at an increasing pace. Deportations, reductions in quotas, and revoking of visas, and raiding and fining offending employers is happening rapidly. So, let’s not make the mistake of believing the lack of fake media attention and patriot updates on the numbers means the deportations, reductions, and revocations have slowed or are not happening. Remember, the enemy does not need to know everything, just stuff that influences a reaction that benefits MAGA in some fashion.

The fake news absence has been happening with DOGE media reporting. Their and leftist politician attacks against DOGE have all but died out. They lost the fight against it. SCOTUS ruled and DOGE continued retooling the entire operating system of the federal government in addition to addressing fraud, waste and abuse. It is completing its mission and has inspired some states to incorporate their own versions into their operations. So, the fake media’s leaking sources are easy to draw out as well. What made it appear as silos operationally was the lack of coordination of operating platforms with each other. Again, this was a feature and not a bug. It was an intentional design to create massive opportunities for fraud and corruption. So, ask yourselves who benefitted? Yup – the uniparty and their globalist masters. They already had the real data fed to them directly through a shadow system we are not supposed to know existed.

How many more are there in the rolls of the remaining 21 blue states that did not comply whose enrollees will not receive benefits until they do? My hunch is at least three times more. You know the overall total has to be at least 15% of funding was stolen, it is sort of a rule of thumb when the crims are involved.

Forensic analysis has been expanding into the state systems with federal election safety providing the entry point. For cheating to work, human bodies need matched to residencies, social security numbers, citizenship, and census even if mailed in. EO’s and court actions will address to pass muster at the SCOTUS level along with existing cases before the courts. As the illegals disappear the criminals have to use existing citizens who never historically voted to replace. That complicates their efforts and leads to more exposure. One of the key cheat methods is before SCOTUS now. Mail-in voting is going to be addressed. Redistricting in the states will be finished and the GOP will net more seats in the House as a result. The GOP’s job is to advance strong, electable MAGA candidates in every area where they can win and use the bulk of their funding for that purpose. No MAGA supported candidates floated means the ones that are have uniparty stamped on them. That means a strong ground effort needs to be underway to have the uniparty criminals fearful of the methods they use and how much they cheat. They may throw caution to the wind and go crazy – that is likely as it is their last stand – but with FIB and DOJ retooled with patriots it will cost many of their soldiers prison time and give the basis (STANDING) to overturn election results as applicable. Less are likely to step forward to do the dirty and be prosecuted.

Just an FYI – to have a good indication as to what is happening in every area of emphasis and what to expect, you have to look back to look forward. Always check out what actually happened after the fake media headlines and initial politician driven ruckus to understand the real status of an issue. 2026 is all lining up for the economy to be humming, employment numbers strong, and inflation low along with with key household item prices stabilized to down by early spring. People with 401-k’s, pensions, IRA’s and other stock related investments – about half of American citizens – are seeing their portfolios jump. Do not miss this regardless of your personal situations. The markets being at record highs leads to people becoming more positive and spending money. Since we have a consumer based economy, when they spend money more jobs are created and incomes increase for everybody while reducing the deficit due to collection of more related tax revenues. That means no needed tax rate increases at the state and local levels should be necessary or even desired in addition to the reduced federal taxes delivered by the BBB. Save some cash for investing if you possibly can. Even a small amount can grow to help your situation over time.

The midterms are the short term target. The primary question will become, again, are you better off today than you were under the Maggot as KK calls him? We know the answer already, we just need to make sure the independent and swing voters get to the polls as well. Add in parading of more of the charged and convicted high profile Dem criminals that has begun. This needs to be an earthquake election that swallows that criminal party whole. That is where every America First MAGA supporter comes in. Vote, work to get others to vote, and work in local districts.

In the big picture, what PDT has been doing is redefining the role of the POTUS and executive branch through the courts and his EO’s back to what the Constitution and law provides. The legislative and judiciary branches have been weaponized against the GOP executive branch. Now when leftist lawfare judges rise against the rule of law, it provides an opportunity to reaffirm in the appeal process and at the SCOTUS level. That is why he probes and pushes the buttons on legal and Constitution issues constantly. There is no such thing as settled law in this country. The Constitution was written without many enforcement and punitive provisions that quite frankly were not anticipated to be needed. Rules, procedures and practices added through the years continued the potential for circumvention.

PDT and patriots are actually reestablishing the role and value of the judicial system and branch in the process as well. With a 90+% win rate on appeals, which has never been achieved by any other POTUS in American history, the rules to the game are being defined in many respects for the first time. There has been renewed attention on the SCOTUS members being Constitutionalists as compared to the leftist/uniparty criminals and hacks that led our country astray in the past.

In the next phase JD and Marco will continue the direction and build on it. They are integrally involved in the entire process. Francis Lightfoot Lee

Born in 1734 in Westmoreland County, VA on the Stratford Hall tobacco plantation, Francis (Frank) Lightfoot Lee, was the fourth son of the eight children of Thomas and Hannah Ludwell Lee. The Lee family were of English descent and among the first families of the state. His middle name came from the name of his father’s best man in the wedding to Hannah. Young Francis was tutored at home by a Scottish minister for his education.

Lee’s great grandparents emigrated from England in 1639. They became wealthy from trading activities related to furs, tobacco and other goods in the colonies as well as England. They purchased large amounts of land as as a result. The older brothers of Francis participated in the family business and were educated in England as they traveled to and from there with each trading voyage. Francis was too young for the trips and remained home with his tutor, which was a disappointment to him at the time. It got worse, in 1750 both of his parents died while his older brothers were in England. The children inherited everything, which included land, money, slaves, and company stock for land speculation.

Francis inherited an estate in northern VA named Coton. It was located in Loudoun County, so his brothers began calling him Loudoun. He continued to live and study at the Stratford Hall library with his brother and fellow Declaration signer, Richard Henry Lee. They used the period to debate each other on various political and legal issues. By 1758 he had moved on to his Coton estate. He was soon elected to the General Assembly.

In 1766 he signed on the Westmoreland Resolutions that his brother, Richard Henry, drafted that challenged the King’s authority and the Stamp Act. At the time it was considered a seditious act, yet, later served as a basis for the Declaration of Independence. Three years later at the age of 35 he married the love of his life, 16 year old Rebecca (Becky) Tayloe of Mount Airy. The couple built a home in Richmond County where Francis was also elected to the House of Burgesses. It was in that public service role that he became close friends with two of the greats, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson.

Both Francis and Richard Henry joined the state’s Committee of Correspondence in 1773 and joined the state’s Convention a year later. In 1775 he became a member of the Second Continental Congress. He and Richard Henry traveled to Philadelphia and stayed with a sister and brother-in-law there through the build up to the Declaration. Richard Henry was called back to the Virginia Assembly in June before the vote. Francis wrote a letter to keep him informed and expressed concern that the Congressional members were fighting over matters less important than the need to declare independence and be about addressing their enemy.

He signed the Declaration on August 2 and Richard Henry arrived and signed on September 4. They are the only brothers to have signed. Francis participated in the creation of the Articles of Confederation as well and is only one of 16 who signed both documents. During 1777 he did all he could and was instrumental in securing vitally necessary supplies for the military during its darkest hours. He continued to serve in Congress for four years into 1779, before returning to Virginia. He served both in the Senate and House before retiring from public service in 1785.

Francis was known as a well-read man “of gentle reasoning and quiet persuasion” by his peers. While Richard Henry and brother, Arthur, were controversy prone, Francis was considered the opposite. Even Arthur called him “calmness and philosophy itself”. However, his political beliefs and commitments were every bit as radical as those of his brothers. John Adams described Lee as “a man of great reading, well understood, of sound judgment and inflexible perseverance in the cause of his country.”

“The 19th century writer, Mark Twain [Samuel Clemens] wrote of him: “He did no brilliant things, he made no brilliant speeches; but the enduring strength of his participation was manifest, his fearlessness in confronting perilous duties… was patent to all, the purity of his motives was unquestioned, his unpurchasable honor and uprightness were unchallenged.” Perhaps the epitaph offered by Lee’s niece Nancy Shippen put it best: “Thou sweetest of all the Lee race / That ever adorned our shore.”

After retirement into private life he was known for his happy demeanor and as a person who enjoyed helping others. Frank and Becky as they were known in the area, had no children. As a result when they both passed away in January 1797 they left their inheritance to the second son of Richard Henry Ludwell, as he had an interest in politics. Ludwell became an attorney and did successfully enter politics on the state level. The couple were buried in Mount Airy.

Francis Lightfoot Lee was an important, dedicated patriot who gave his full commitment to the cause of independence and his fellow citizens both in public and private life. We are forever grateful for his efforts.

Many years ago, Kent approached me on Tony Heller’s blog and sent me a draft copy of his book. This is an excerpt from that book. This passage is a glimpse into the CIA during Kennedy’s presidency. The CIA disdain for both Kennedy brothers drips from each word.

Bouncing between boarding schools during WW2, just before he turned 18, apparently to avoid the draft, Kennedy enlisted in the Navy. He did nearly two years in the program, bouncing from Harvard to Bates, and back to Harvard, until the Navy commissioned a ship named after young Bobby’s brother, the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., surely on the command of Daddy Kennedy, the Democrat power broker.

In February, Kennedy used his father’s Progressive patronage power to obtain a discharge from the officer candidate program, to serve as an apprentice seaman on the USS Kennedy. It doesn’t take much imagination to realize that the peripatetic Bobby Kennedy’s 119 day tour as a seaman on his daddy’s ship had nothing in common with a typical seaman’s sea duty. Arriving on February 1, he left the ship on May 30, and was discharged, honorably from the Navy.

Supported by the Kennedy family’s house newspaper in Boston, he flitted about the world, pretending to be a reporter for a few trips, until he finished law school.

He was immediately ensconced as a lawyer in the Department of Justice in Washington DC, for three months, before his daddy got him a job as a prosecutor in Brooklyn. He only lasted at that job for four months, resigning to “manage” his brother’s Senate campaign. After the successful campaign, daddy again pulled strings, and young Bobby landed a job with, ironically, Senator Joseph McCarthy’s Subcommittee on Investigations.

His tenure with McCarthy was more than seven months, a long time for this daddy’s boy on the move. He left the Senate job to work for, no surprise, daddy Kennedy, supposedly working on government reorganization.

It took his father seven months to get young Bobby his next gig, as chief counsel for the Democrat minority in the Senate. Eleven months later, bouncing Bobby became majority counsel, when the

Democrats won back the Senate from the Republicans. Bobby, not quite 30 years old, with no real world experience, settled into the warm comfort of the sinecure arranged by his daddy, in the shadow of his big brother, the anointed Democrat savior, and waited for the 1960 elections, which daddy Kennedy planned as a coming-out for his favorite surviving son.

Bobby again “managed” a John Kennedy campaign, this time a successful one for President, in 1960, and was rewarded by his daddy and big brother, with the plum appointment to be the Attorney General of the United States.

On his first day in the highest law enforcement office in the country, Bobby Kennedy was barely 35 years old. Outside his blatantly political job as a Democrat counsel in the Senate, he had held a handful of positions, usually for a few months at the most. It appears that virtually all of the “jobs” he held were arranged by his family political connections—119 days on the ship named for Daddy Kennedy’s favorite son, four months as a prosecutor in Brooklyn, seven months as a counsel in the Senate, seven months working for his daddy, until he joined his brother in the Senate, for nearly seven years.

From the point of view of a Russian case officer, working against this shallow, callow, punk daddy’s boy, elevated to a position of nearly absolute power in his brother’s administration, would be child’s play.

The KGB likely began probing multiple avenues of approach to the callow kiddie crowd in the White House, soon after their ascendance in January 1961. Maybe they already had established contacts with Bobby Kennedy, during his international travels, through Europe, the Middle East, India, Vietnam and Japan, as a student, pretending to be a journalist. Students on the make, traveling through these areas would have come to the attention of the KGB in each of the countries he visited. Especially a student who was the son of the corrupt Democrat ambassador to London. The KGB approach that clicked with the naïve Attorney General was the approach of a military intelligence colonel operating under cover as head of the Washington bureau of the TASS news agency. …..In a classic piece of operational tradecraft, the KGB case officer, Georgi Bolshakov, represented himself to his target, Bobby Kennedy, as a “back-channel” conduit to the Kremlin. This is a common operational ruse, useful to convince otherwise wary targets that the information they share will go straight to the highest levels.

This ruse is also useful against targets in influential positions, for example a kid Attorney General, the most trusted advisor to his brother, the President of the U.S. Against these targets, the ruse is expanded to include a ruse within a ruse—that the target is also receiving confidential details in an “information exchange.” After accepting a “personal relationship” with the Bolshakov, Bobby Kennedy opened up to the espionage professional’s developmental operation. Kennedy invited the KGB officer to his home, and met with him dozens of times. For a developmental operation, this is a rather accelerated schedule. It seems that the KGB was ready to err on the side of aggression, due to the need to implant influence messages with the young administration. In stark contrast to the dilettante know-it-all Bobby Kennedy, Bolshakov was an expert at his profession. He had joined the Soviet intelligence system in 1943, served throughout WW2 and followed that with a three year graduate level training program in intelligence operations. He developed excellent English language skills prior to his posting to Washington.

The superbly successful development of the Attorney General by a man who was clearly Soviet intelligence would seem shocking by today’s counter-intelligence standards. At the time, evidently the Kennedys could do no wrong. Even today historians writing of this espionage operation give Bobby Kennedy an unwarranted benefit of the doubt.

Andrew, discussing Bobby Kennedy’s use as an influence agent, says that Bobby seemed to be, “forgetting that he was dealing with an experienced intelligence professional who had been instructed to cultivate him,” And that “the president’s brother became convinced that ‘an authentic friendship grew’ between him and [the KGB officer].”

There is absolutely no reason to give Kennedy the benefit of any doubt. He was simply an arrogant, ignorant, spoiled rich man’s son playing at international affairs. He was playing against talented, experienced, well-trained professionals. He was no match, and was out-witted, out-gunned, and out-maneuvered. The relationship seems to have terminated when the Russians manipulated the out-witted Kennedys during the Cuban missile crisis. The KGB case officer, after influencing the Kennedy administration’s view for several months, provided a disinformation payload to young Bobby, who swallowed it, hook, line and sinker.

In a conversation recorded in the Oval Office, between the President and his little brother, the two neophytes, playing at power politics seem to come to the realization that they’ve been played for fools.

Bobby tells his brother that he’d had lunch with his KGB handler that day.

President: “What did he say?”

Bobby: “He said this is, this is a defensive base for the Russians. It’s got nothing to do with the Cubans.”

The Spags case was special. The store was not open on Sunday because the Borgatti family was religious. The old man dealt in CASH ONLY, no checks or credit cards. Thus he could also get really good deals on merchandise by paying THAT DAY and NOT paying 3 months later as most stores do. Also since Massachusetts taxed inventory in warehouses but NOT goods in transit, he stored his merchandise in trailers in his lot. His retail store was a no-frills warehouse with the merchandise on warehouse racks in cut open boxes. (No additional stock boys.) When he died his kids hired a Harvard business grad. They started taking credit cards (5% paid to the card company by the vendor) fancied up the selling area ($$$$) got a warehouse ($$$$) and the business went under in a few years and was sold.

They explained neither the difference between the assets’ nominal and real values, nor precisely why letting the market find the latter would collapse America.

When this majority discovered that virtually no one in a position of power in either party or with a national voice would take their objections seriously, that decisions about their money were being made in bipartisan backroom deals with interested parties, and that the laws on these matters were being voted by people who had not read them, the term “political class” came into use. …The two classes have less in common culturally, dislike each other more, and embody ways of life more different from one another than did the 19th century’s Northerners and Southerners — nearly all of whom, as Lincoln reminded them, “prayed to the same God.” By contrast, while most Americans pray to the God “who created and doth sustain us,” our ruling class prays to itself as “saviors of the planet” and improvers of humanity. Our classes’ clash is over “whose country” America is, over what way of life will prevail, over who is to defer to whom about what. The gravity of such divisions points us, as it did Lincoln, to Mark’s Gospel: “if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”….

This analysis combines both qualitative information and quantitative data. The author reviewed numerous first person reports of Tea Party rallies, conferences and meetings from every corner of the country, and read most of the movement’s own literature. The Tea Parties are described as a unique movement appearing at a specific historical moment. The movement encompasses constituent national networks, core members and more loosely aligned supporters. Its supporters are overwhelmingly white and middle class. Matters of race and national identity motivate many Tea Partiers as well as a sense of dispossession from their place of privilege in the racial order. This analysis takes at face value the movement’s dress, symbols and invocation of the constitution, as well as its claims to embody the aspirations of a narrow body of ‘real Americans’. By making an exclusionary claim on the nation’s founding moments, they actually set themselves apart from other Americans.…

Conclusion
Social movements do not last forever. More often than not, they have one or another or a combination of three fates. One, they are either victorious and decline after reaching their goal. Two, they are defeated outright. Three, they are co-opted by some larger institution.

The militia movement that emerged in the 1990s, for example, was defeated following the
Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 by a concerted campaign of civic opposition and government repression. Militia groups have reappeared, but the movement itself is gone as of now. To go back further in history, the Ku Klux Klan and other white-minded thugs that emerged during the Reconstruction period after the Civil War were essentially victorious in re-establishing the system of white supremacy in the former Confederacy, and the Klan dissolved effortlessly into the Democratic Party before the end of the century. The Klan in the 1920s may have suffered from the scandals surrounding its leadership, but the movement did not die until after it won a change in the 1924 immigration law that protected Anglo-Saxon hegemony for another generation. After that it basically closed up shop, except in the Deep South. The Klan, the Citizens Councils, the Birchers
and the segregationists in the 1950s and 1960s were decisively defeated by the black freedom movement, and they were left standing with empty hands after Governor George Wallace’s independent presidential campaign in 1968. Only the Republican Party gained after it adopted its infamous ‘Southern Strategy’.

The decisive moments that will decide the Tea Parties’ fate have not yet occurred. The movement’s sights are set squarely on November 2012. If they win back the presidency for the Republican Party, the movement might or might not dissolve into squabbling factions. If they perceive that they have lost that election, or the Republican primaries before it, an internal power struggle may or may not split it irrevocably apart. Win, lose or draw, however, the Tea Party movement has already left important markers on America’s political landscape: First, in the current debate over economic policy and the national debt, they have moved the discussion toward fiscal restraint and de-regulation. They stand in the way of environmental protection and other measures by which the federal government might promote the common good. Of more long-term consequence, however, will be its legacy in the arena of race. Please consider that the Tea Party movement may be a precursor of an even larger revolt by supposedly dispossessed white people as the expected population and demographic shifts occur in the decades to come.

…⚖️ Rounding out today’s accountability trifecta, on Sunday the Washington Post ran an intriguing story headlined, “Trump Justice Dept. considers removing key check on lawmaker prosecutions.” The “key check” is a Biden-era rule that forbids Attorneys General from investigating public officials for corruption without first getting permission from the DC field office. You can guess how often that happens.

According to leakers (“three people familiar with the proposal”), federal prosecutors across the country may soon be able to indict members of Congress without pre-approval from “lawyers in the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section,” or PIN, which is safely settled in Washington, DC where politicians can keep a wary eye on them.

Even better, under the new plan, FBI investigators and prosecutors would also be freed from having to ‘consult’ with the section’s attorneys “during key steps of probes into public officials.” In other words, even when the DC office did green-light an indictment, it still micromanaged the whole investigation.

Currently, the DOJ’s manual requires that PIN’s attorneys must approve —not just be consulted on— any charges against members of Congress. It doesn’t happen often, to say the least.

WaPo, probably intentionally, missed the painfully obvious point: a special oversight privilege for public officials provides them with a special tier of justice that other Americans do not enjoy. WaPo whined that the Public Integrity Section’s role was to “ensure that cases against public officials are legally sound and not politically motivated.”

But … what about us? Wouldn’t it be better and fairer to ensure that cases against all Americans are legally sound and not politically motivated, and not just public officials?

The ironically named Public Integrity office has already “dramatically shrunk” during the Trump administration, plunging from around 30 prosecutors by the end of the Biden administration to fewer than five today. One was fired, some rage-quit over the dismissal of the DOJ’s case against New York’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams, while others have been “detailed to different sections in the department,” such as the division of Indian Affairs. In Trump’s first week in office, he fired PIN Director Corey Amundson.

It sure makes you think. Say you were planning to initiate wide-scale investigations into members of Congress, maybe for NGO abuse, insider trading, or general self-enrichment. This kind of thing would probably be your first move. Just saying.

Whoopsies! Sorry, experts. This week, Politico ran a story headlined, “Tariffs have little impact on prices, defying forecasts.” Unexpectedly!

On Tuesday, the Labor Department reported that prices only rose at an annualized rate of 2.3 percent, the smallest increase since 2020— before the pandemic. And that was in spite of tariffs. It’s almost like Trump’s tariffs have had the opposite effect the experts sagely predicted.

An honest media would call the experts to account, and require them to explain why they were wrong. But Politico’s story lavishly applied the passive voice (“prices were expected to climb”), obscuring who was wrong, generously giving unreliable experts a pass. Oh well.

While the headline number usually is the seasonally-adjusted month-to-month change, the formal CPI is reported on a not-seasonally-adjusted basis, with annual inflation measured in terms of year-to-year percent change in the price index.

In the charts to the right we show two SGS-Alternate CPI estimates: One based on the pre-1990 official methodology for computing the CPI-U, and the other based on the methodology which was employed prior to 1980.

A Caution

Just remember…we might replace the RINO candidates. (Or we might not. The record is mixed even though there is more MAGA than there used to be.) But that will make no difference in the long run if the party officials, basically the Rhonna McDaniels (or however that’s spelled–I suspect it’s RINO), don’t get replaced.

State party chairs, vice chairs, secretaries and so on, and the same at county levels, have huge influence on who ultimately gets nominated, and if these party wheelhorses are RINOs, they will work tirelessly to put their own pukey people on the ballot. In fact I’d not be surprised if some of our “MAGA” candidates are in fact, RINO plants, encouraged to run by the RINO party leadership when they realized that Lyn Cheney (and her ilk) were hopelessly compromised as effective candidates. The best way for them to deal with the opposition, of course, is to run it themselves.

Running good candidates is only HALF of the battle!

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.

Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.

Gold managed to push up into the 3430s (at least) on Monday/Tuesday night/morning. Apparently the Chinese markets were closed May 1-5. The Chinese markets tend to boost gold while the European and US markets push it down.

That said gold was back down to the low 3300s by Thursday evening, and seems to have settled into that range once again.

*The SteveInCO Federal Reserve Note Suckage Index (FRNSI) is a measure of how much the dollar has inflated. It’s the ratio of the current price of gold, to the number of dollars an ounce of fine gold made up when the dollar was defined as 25.8 grains of 0.900 gold. That worked out to an ounce being $20.67+71/387 of a cent. (Note gold wasn’t worth this much back then, thus much gold was $20.67 71/387ths. It’s a subtle distinction. One ounce of gold wasn’t worth $20.67 back then, it was $20.67.) Once this ratio is computed, 1 is subtracted from it so that the number is zero when the dollar is at its proper value, indicating zero suckage.

Leading Up To The Big Revolution In Geology

As of the late 1950s geology had made tremendous strides in about two and a half centuries. Geologists had come to understand a lot about rocks, how they were made, how they endured (or didn’t), and had used this understanding not just to reconstruct a lot of Earth’s past, but also life‘s past.

But a lot was missing, too. We knew, for instance, that land rose and fell; we had obvious ancient sea floor in what is today nosebleed-high mountain ranges. And we knew that it wasn’t because the water had risen, but rather that the land had risen afterwards.

What we didn’t know was why. Why was terrain being uplifted from time to time?

Geologists had won their argument with the astronomers over how old the Earth had to be, but that win left them with another aspect of this problem. If the Earth were indeed hundreds of millions of years old (as, by about 1900 at the latest they figured must be the case), then why did we have continents at all? They should have eroded away long ago!

Another mystery was volcanoes. They happened a lot in some places, and not in others. Why? No idea. I had access to an outdated book on volcanoes (probably written in the late 1950s) as a kid in the early 1970s. It asked this question and gave no answer beyond, essentially, “we don’t know.”

Today we know the answers to all of this. And indeed looking back on it, the geologists who lived through what can only be described as an Awakening (and yes, some of them are still alive), realize that geology made no sense without the answer. Oh, the little stuff made sense; mountains erode, volcanoes erupt, streams silt up, until you dug a bit deeper and realized there was no rhyme or reason to it when you tried to put together a big picture. Why were the mountains there to erode? Why weren’t volcanoes in New York State?

There really wasn’t a big picture.

And then, in not much more time than it takes for a Trump attorney general to be confirmed, there was a big picture!

What a glorious time it was to be a geologist!

I’m not guessing at this; I’ve heard many of them talk.

Plate tectonics brings order and sense to geology. Much like the periodic table brings order and sense to chemistry, gravitation brings sense to astronomy, and evolution brings sense to biology.

(You might want to argue with that last one. You’d be wrong. I’ve heard biologists talk too. Biology literally would make no sense–it would be a jumble of miscellaneous facts–without evolution to tie it together.)

So this is going to be the story of how we came to recognize that plate tectonics exists, and how it works. And it will probably take several posts to cover.

But first…some background. (You should have seen that coming.)

Igneous Rocks

There are three broad classes of rocks, igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. (I hope this is a refresher to you, as I’ve covered this before.) Igneous rocks were certainly the first kind to exist, since those are the kind of rock you get when lava or magma cool and solidify. Then there is sedimentary rock, formed from bits of other rocks (of any of these types), that erode, are transported downhill, and (usually) end up at the bottom of a body of water where they become sandstone, or limestone, and things like that. Metamorphic rock results when any rock is subjected to high temperatures and pressures and undergoes chemical and structural changes without going all the way to melting and re-solidifying. Marble and flint are examples of metamorphic rock.

We’re going to concentrate on igneous rocks.

Magma and lava are typically mixtures of different chemicals, and as they cool the chemicals crystalize (and become minerals). You can tell how quickly an igneous rock cooled; if it cooled very slowly you get large crystals; if it cooled quickly you may have very small crystals, perhaps small enough you need a microscope to study them. In extreme cases there may be no crystals at all and the rock is considered a volcanic glass, like obsidian.

(A rock with crystals large enough to be seen by the naked eye is “phaneritic” while others are “aphaneritic.” As a side note to this side note, “phaner-” also appears in the name “Phanerozoic,” which is a hint as to where it got its name; the Phanerozoic is the eon where life was big enough to see. Though that’s a bit of a misnomer now since the Ediacaran period, right before/below the Cambrian and thus not in the Phanerozoic eon, also had life big enough to see. But that discovery post-dates the naming of the Phanerozoic.)

Lava being out on the surface cools quickly and generally has very small crystals, whereas intrusive rocks (like dikes and sills), and gigantic bodies of magma called “batholiths” are underground and cool very slowly; leading to big crystals. In fact, geologists will distinguish between extrusive (lava) and intrusive (the others) igneous rocks as the “mode of occurrence.”

There is also, independent of that, another distinction, a chemical one. Magmas in general are mostly silicon, oxygen, aluminum, sodium, potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium; these all go together to form silicate minerals, which make up at least 90 percent of all igneous rocks. Silicate minerals are made up largely of silica, SiO2 (as I tried to explain the one time I dared to take up mineralogy), but not entirely. Different magma bodies have different proportions of these materials.

Felsic rocks have the most silica, and end up consisting mostly of quartz and feldspar, with other things thrown in like mica. The dividing line seems to be 63% or more silica makes it a felsic rock. And the result is either granite (intrusive, slow cooling from magma) or rhyolite (extrusive, quick-cooling from lava, fine-grained). These rocks are usually fairly light in color, and have a relatively low density compared to the other sorts of igneous rocks. (That low density has very important consequences, so don’t forget it!)

Intermediate rocks are 52-63% silica, and the intrusive version is diorite while the extrusive one is andesite. You might ask, “intermediate between what, and what?” Well, intermediate between felsic and…

Mafic rocks are 45% to 52% silica. The intrusive, coarse-grained type is gabbro, while the fine grained type is basalt. In general, these rocks will have a lot of pyroxenes, olivines, and calcic plagioclase in them.

Anything less than 45% silica is ultramafic. The coarse grained, intrusive example is peridotite, while the fine grained ultramafic rocks are komatiite.

If you do a deep dive there are further and further fine-grained (sorry. OK, no I’m not) ways of classifying igneous rocks.

The average adult has heard of granite. He may have heard of basalt. The other six broad kinds of igneous rock are probably foreign to him.

Most lava flows are basaltic in nature. Most rocks that form deep underground (known as plutons) inside mountain ranges are granitic. So there’s both a compositional and textural distinction between lava and plutonic rock. At least, usually. The exceptions are notable when they happen.

(Every once in a while I hear a tourist opine that Pikes Peak must surely be a volcano. No…it’s made of granite–see the picture above–much like the Appalachians. Granite doesn’t happen in volcanoes (or if it does, it’s very rare). Tour guides must be really tired of this one.)

The Earth’s Crust

(More background)

The Earth has a layered structure. The below diagram shows (lower left) to scale, and the notional “pie wedge” at upper right is not to scale. (We have some notion of these layers because we can “watch” seismic waves curving and refracting at the boundaries between the layers. The liquid outer core, in fact, blocks some kinds of seismic waves completely. I have described this before.)

The crust is on average 35 kilometers thick (out of a total of 6371 (average) or 6378 (max) kilometers to the center of the Earth). There is also the lithosphere, the top 60 or so km of the Earth (note that the crust is part of the lithosphere). The mantle lies directly underneath the crust and goes down 2900 km or so; it’s divided into an upper and lower layer about 660 km down.

Most of the mantle is solid but does flow over time; the very topmost layer of it is a lot more rigid which is why it is grouped with the crust into the lithosphere.

In fact the boundary between crust and mantle is where there is a sudden shift in the speed of seismic waves; this is the Mohorovičić discontinuity which for some reason I can’t fathom gets abbreviated to “Moho.”

In some cases upper mantle material has ended up on the Earth’s surface, and it’s generally 55% olivine, 35% pyroxene and 5-10% calcium oxide and aluminum oxide minerals such as plagioclase, spinel, and garnet. In other words, the mantle is mafic. It’s also much more dense than the Earth’s crust, which means that over time the crust is likely to stay “up there” essentially floating on the mantle.

One other thing that the diagram does is to distinguishes between “continental” and “oceanic” crust. Other than the fact that the oceanic crust is a lot thinner than the continental crust, does it really make a difference? Both are largely silicate, but it turns out the ocean floors are, underneath the sediment layer, largely made of basalt, diabase, and gabbro. In other words the ocean floors are mafic. They’re also only about 5-10 km thick.

Continental crust on the other hand is mostly felsic and can be anywhere from 25-70 km thick. (Note that the continental crust includes the continental shelves; geologically speaking they’re part of the continents, not part of the oceans.) Some really thick areas of continental crust are the Tibetan plateau and the Altiplano next to the Andes, where the crust can be as thick as 80 km.

So continental crust is lighter and thicker than oceanic crust. One would think the composition would be about the same everywhere, and likely less difference in thickness too, but no we have these pronounced differences and it turns out we now know it’s for a very good reason.

Note that the difference in thickness is greater than the distance from the top of mount Everest to the ocean floor, This implies that where there are continents the continental crust drops further into the Earth than the oceanic crust.

In fact it ought to remind you of icebergs, floating on top of a liquid medium with with a large portion beneath the surface, or sticking into the mantle layer.

I recall reading somewhere (I can’t confirm it) that if (say) ten feet were to erode off the top of Pikes Peak, then (given a lot of time) the mountain would “bob” up about nine feet for a net loss of elevation of a whole foot. Clearly to erode the entire thing away (it sticks up about 8000 feet above the surrounding terrain), 80,000 feet or sixteen miles would have to erode away–not just 8000 feet.

Fear Not.

In the biblical record of heavenly encounters, often the first thing spoken to a person (who has already fallen face down in awe) is, “Fear Not.”

Revelation 1 (KJB), John’s Vision on Patmos

Reasonable Fear.

It is the human condition to face fears in our lives that are truly reasonable fears. But, when we have done all we can to prepare and protect, we still find our power is not sufficient to remove all sources of threat.

Psalms 127

1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
            They labor in vain who build it;
            Unless the LORD guards the city,
            The watchman keeps awake in vain.

  2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
            To retire late,
            To eat the bread of painful labors;

Exodus Jubilation.

This is the first week of the Eastertide season.

Eastertide (also known as Eastertime or the Easter season) or Paschaltide (also known as Paschaltime or the Paschal season) is a festal season in the liturgical year of Christianity that focuses on celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The church refers to this period of time after the resurrection as the Paschal Season. What are they referring to?

It’s all about the Passover.

…the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus comes clothed to us in the imagery, symbolism, and language of the Jewish Passover. In fact, the name these early Christians give to their Easter festival is the Greek word pascha. Pascha is a Greek translation of the Hebrew Pesach, which is the Hebrew name for Passover. The Latin church picks up this usage and calls Easter in Latin as pascha as well. Drawing parallels between the exodus and the resurrection, Christians see the Exodus as a type, a foreshadowing of the massive jailbreak when Christ frees the righteous dead from the shadow-lands of the underworld, leading them in triumph from darkness into His light. And Christ’s defeat of sin and death is indeed, Good News.

This parallel is highlighted not only within the Gospel accounts themselves, but throughout the New Testament.

For Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us, therefore, celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Rejoice!

Easter’s message rings out in the traditional greeting; one says, “Christ is risen!” and to which the response is, “He is risen indeed, Alleluia!” There is joy in the air. An exuberance, a jubilation, as believers celebrate the defeat of their enemy, and the triumph of their Savior.

and upon those in the tombs

In the book of Exodus, after witnessing the Egyptians absolute defeat by the hand of God, the people of Israel, led by Moses, break into song–not only singing–but dancing in celebration. Finally, they are beginning to believe that they have been freed from their oppressors.

We see a people filled with exuberant jubilation rejoicing over the utter defeat of their enemy, and the stunning triumph of their saving God.

And we are right there with them in this Eastertide season. God has mightily delivered us. Let us rejoice!

The Song of Moses

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD:

I will sing to the LORD, for he is gloriously triumphant;

My strength and my refuge is the LORD,
