Sovereignty. Souveraineté.
What does this word, sovereignty, mean?
It seems to mean different things to different people.
This Kind of Sovereign?
Judging by a paper called, “A QUICK GUIDE TO SOVEREIGN CITIZENS,” by the UNC School of Government, there are some people that think they can become free by resisting the governmental structures currently in place in our nation. In brief, the paper tells us:
“Sovereign citizen” is a catchall phrase referring to a variety of anti-government individuals and groups who share some common beliefs and behaviors. The organizations to which many sovereign citizens belong have a variety of names… In one way or another, though, all sovereign citizens, whether tied to an organization or not, adhere to a view that the existing American governmental structure, including the courts and law enforcement, is illegitimate and that they, the sovereign citizens, retain an individual common law identity exempting them from the authority of those fraudulent government institutions.
Hmmmm.
Maybe this isn’t the kind of sovereign we were looking for.
A Different Take on Sovereignty.
We’ve already had some discussion recently on this essay, but you might not have read far enough down to reach this fantastic claim:
… Still, their eyes were always looking forward, toward a moment when the government wouldn’t just digitize its services but its sovereignty. Enter DOGE. The Department of Government Efficiency didn’t materialize in a vacuum. It was seeded during the Obama years, whispered into existence by those who knew that the real power would come not from Congress, but from a system nimble enough to move faster than legislation, and quiet enough to reshape infrastructure without fanfare. It began as the United States Digital Service—a small team of technocrats who fixed websites, sure, but more importantly, mapped the internal circuitry of American bureaucracy. They weren’t patching holes. They were creating access points. And then, just as quietly as they arrived, they left the back door open.
Sounds interesting. But I’m not sure exactly how to respond. The author provides three hypothetical outcomes of the end of Act III. The second outcome, narrative fracture, doesn’t look good. The first outcome, sovereign reset, is just about what most people seem to want. But that third outcome—if it is even possible—the revelation state, I think people with a heart to be free might want an outcome like this:
It’s not just about controlling the machine—it’s about purifying it.
The Sovereign Reset without accountability is stable, but cold.
The Narrative Fracture without vision is chaotic and likely irreparable.
But the Revelation State?
That’s the rarest kind of government:
One that awakens, without collapsing.
One that confesses, without capitulating.
One that still serves, even after seizing control.
However, does this path return us to the intentions of the Founding Fathers of our nation?
I wonder.
Popular Sovereignty.
The Bill of Rights Institute offers some bracing clarity regarding those intentions:
Popular Sovereignty: “We the People”
The Declaration of Independence affirmed the republican principle of popular government. The people were the source of all sovereignty, or authority, in the representative government. They gave their consent to their elected representatives to govern them. The document stated, “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving [receiving] their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
The Preamble to the Constitution outlined that the new constitutional government was also to be based on this principle of popular sovereignty. It stated, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union.” This meant that the people of the United States, through their representatives, established this new government. The previous government under the Articles of Confederation (1781–1789) did not have sufficient power to govern the nation because the states were sovereign.
The core purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to establish a just political order that recognized human equality in natural rights for all persons. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable [impossible to take away] Rights.” This meant that the equality of all people would be the basis of any American system of government. This promise, though not fully realized, has guided American political debates ever since.
This was recognized in the Preamble, which stated simply that one of its main goals was to “establish Justice.” Justice meant that all were equal under the law and equal in their rights. Individuals would be able to pursue their own happiness and have equal opportunity to work hard and keep the fruits of their labor. James Madison noted the importance of justice in Federalist No. 51 when he wrote, “Justice is the end [purpose] of government. It is the end of civil society.”
God as Sovereign.
On this Maundy Thursday of the Christian Holy Week, it seems fitting to reflect on how Jesus the Christ, and our Lord, presented his sovereignty in the last hours before laying down his life for those he came to redeem.
From the Gospel of John 18:33-19:22 (AMPC):
So Pilate went back again into the judgment hall and called Jesus and asked Him, Are You the King of the Jews? Jesus replied, Are you saying this of yourself [on your own initiative], or have others told you about Me?
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your [own] people and nation and their chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done? Jesus answered, My kingdom (kingship, royal power) belongs not to this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My followers would have been fighting to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, My kingdom is not from here (this world); [it has no such origin or source].
Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Pilate said to Him, What is Truth? On saying this he went out to the Jews again and told them, I find no fault in Him. But it is your custom that I release one [prisoner] for you at the Passover. So shall I release for you the King of the Jews?
Then they all shouted back again, Not Him [not this Man], but Barabbas! Now Barabbas was a robber. So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged (flogged, whipped) Him. And the soldiers, having twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on His head, and threw a purple cloak around Him. And they kept coming to Him and saying, Hail, King of the Jews! [Good health to you! Peace to you! Long life to you, King of the Jews!] And they struck Him with the palms of their hands.
Then Pilate went out again and said to them, See, I bring Him out to you, so that you may know that I find no fault (crime, cause for accusation) in Him. So Jesus came out wearing the thorny crown and purple cloak, and Pilate said to them, See, [here is] the Man!
When the chief priests and attendants (guards) saw Him, they cried out, Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no fault (crime) in Him. The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to that law He should die, because He has claimed and made Himself out to be the Son of God.
So, when Pilate heard this said, he was more alarmed and awestricken and afraid than before. He went into the judgment hall again and said to Jesus, Where are You from? [To what world do You belong?] But Jesus did not answer him.
So Pilate said to Him, Will You not speak [even] to me? Do You not know that I have power (authority) to release You and I have power to crucify You? Jesus answered, You would not have any power or authority whatsoever against (over) Me if it were not given you from above. For this reason the sin and guilt of the one who delivered Me over to you is greater.
Upon this, Pilate wanted (sought, was anxious) to release Him, but the Jews kept shrieking, If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar! Anybody who makes himself [out to be] a king sets himself up against Caesar [is a rebel against the emperor]!
Hearing this, Pilate brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called the Pavement [the Mosaic Pavement, the Stone Platform]—in Hebrew, Gabbatha. Now it was the day of Preparation for the Passover, and it was about the sixth hour (about twelve o’clock noon). He said to the Jews, See, [here is] your King! But they shouted, Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar!
Then he delivered Him over to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led [Him] away; so He went out, bearing His own cross, to the spot called The Place of the Skull—in Hebrew it is called Golgotha. There they crucified Him, and with Him two others—one on either side and Jesus between them.
And Pilate also wrote a title (an inscription on a placard) and put it on the cross. And the writing was: Jesus the Nazarene, the King of the Jews. And many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, [and] in Greek. Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews, but, He said, I am King of the Jews.
Pilate replied, What I have written, I have written.

Secretary Rubio continues to surprise many, me included. Saying the USA is in a proxy war with Russia, via Ukraine, is not something Marco Rubio can retreat from.
Two days ago, specifically because of my granular research, I was asked this question about Rubio. “What are the odds this is really Rubio?”
Look, I don’t know what happened and would love to ask him some details to get answers; but Rubio’s statements are so far out there against the Deepest part of the Deep State, there is no retreat for the former Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
Rubio said publicly the Ukraine conflict was a USA proxy war against Russia. For obvious reasons the MSM essentially buried that statement fast; but it’s not something he can ever retreat from, nor does it look like he would want to.
Either Rubio has some pre-approved ability to criticize the darkest elements of the DC Deep State, and this is some rather intense operation to position himself as a stealth agent of the CIA for future benefit, or Rubio really believes what he is saying now and is a changed person.
I’m still undecided, because there are some IC facets at play (even today) that I am still not comfortable writing about, yet.
That said, where do these statements put Rubio in the dynamic of MAGA foreign policy? Right at the tippy top of the spear against the deadliest elements of the U.S. Intelligence Apparatus.
The United States Secretary of State told the world, the biggest conflict zone in the past 20 years is the result of Ukraine being a USA proxy war against Russia.
Put everything else aside for the moment and realize, with that statement the guy just wiped out every Deep State affiliation he ever carried. He cannot enter that camp ever again. Rubio “burned the boat” and carried his weapon into battle for Trump.
The question is, did Rubio burn his boat knowing there is another one beyond the horizon waiting to come in and pick him up later? He really is playing the role of a dragon slayer for President Trump right now.

I agree the capacity exists, but the black hats have a constant and compelling motivation which the white hats don’t have: money, blackmail, power, some combination thereof, or all three.
White hats have patriotism, duty, honor and love of country for motivation. All strong motivations, and better ones, but they don’t pay like corruption.
Also, psychopaths are drawn to government to exercise of power over others, normal people are not, so while the percentage of psychopaths in the general population might be 3%, in government it’s probably 60% to 75% or higher.

Assuming your estimate is more true than not it seems that the prudent thing for the American citizen to demand is that there be term limits for those citizens who choose to work in government bureaucracies. No citizen can work more than 5 years as a public employee in any management position. After a trial run the strategy would be up for review to adjust or sunset. Although we cannot keep them from being psychopaths we can limit their access to power.

Judge Boasberg Threatens “Criminal Contempt” Charges Against Trump DOJ, Threatens to Appoint Independent Judicial Branch Criminal Prosecutor Against Trump Administration
April 16, 2025
SD: “It’s not the first part of the 46-page ruling [SEE HERE] by Judge James Boasberg, threatening to hold President Trump and Main Justice in criminal contempt of court, that presents the biggest problem; it’s the second part where Boasberg is threatening to appoint an independent Judicial Branch prosecutor against the DOJ and Trump that makes a constitutional crisis tilt toward a near civil war between the branches.
Outlining his determination that President Trump defied a court order, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg states, “the Court ultimately determines that the Government’s actions on that day demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt.”
As noted by Politico, within the ruling Boasberg goes on to say:
…”if the administration doesn’t rectify the issue, the judge said he may require administration officials to testify under oath so that he can identify the specific individuals responsible for violating his order. He would then request that those individuals be prosecuted.
The judge signaled he could appoint an outside lawyer to prosecute the contempt case if the Justice Department declines to do so.” (link)
I think we all know the very select group of “beach friend” people whom Boasberg would lean toward in appointing someone to prosecute Pam Bondi and DOJ officials representing President Trump.
High on the list of possible judicial branch appointments, who would be subject to review by the authority of Boasberg himself, would be his prior friendship with a previous appointee, Mary McCord. Or possibly Andrew Weissmann, Barry Berke, Norm Eisen, David Laufman or any other credentialed member of the Lawfare alliance.
The ruling somewhat reminds me of a prior situation where federal judge Andrew Hanen found the Obama DOJ also in contempt of a court order regarding the status of the “Dreamers” and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) cases. {Background Here}
However, unlike Boasberg, Hanen only demanded a DOJ corrective action plan.
Lawfare operatives in robes and out of robes are willing to create a constitutional crisis, because that’s how the Lawfare operatives operate when their grip on power is threatened.”
Boasberg needs to remember that it’s not enough to wear a striped uniform on the field — he can either be a player or an umpire…..and, if it’s a player, he doesn’t get the protections of being an umpire.
Not sure how any of this works out except Trump folk will likely ignore it. But didn’t the SC just say in a 5 to 4 ruling that

Boasberg is holding the Administration in contempt for not jumping to attention on an order that SCOTUS said was out of his jurisdiction. Further, in order to “cure” this affront, he wants the Administration to do what he had no jurisdiction to demand.

A few points.
Where does he think there is authority for him to appoint a prosecutor, special or otherwise? Keep in mind that all federal courts other than SCOTUS are created by Congress which means that ALL AUTHORITIES involving fed courts are in U.S. Code statutes somewhere. Just give us a section number, judge.
The first time he decided to enforce the TRO by demanding answers from assistant U.S. attorneys, he was both acting as a prosecutor AND violating attorney work product privilege. Again, please tell us the statute number that gives him that authority. Without a code number, his actions are ultra vires.
SCOTUS has already said that the only standing for the five aliens is via a petition for writ of habeas corpus in the jurisdiction where they are being confined [in this case it was Southern District of Texas]. That’s just a gentle way of saying that the filing of the initial complaint was invalid. So why is the case still progressing? And why isn’t the DoJ screaming to high Heaven about it?
Last but not least, there’s the C word – contempt. A little education for y’all. There’s three types of contempt – direct, remedial, and punitive. Direct is an act which occurs in the presence of the judge, usually while court is in session. Remedial is a contempt dealing with a court order that has continuing obligations but which is being disobeyed. That type of contempt is dealt with by the court [judge] that issued the order. The current posture of the case most closely resembles this. The author of the pdf makes reference to specific ‘Sovereign Citizen’ groups, but I don’t recognize any of them, except possibly ‘Free Men on the Land’. I think I read a short self-published book (maybe 150 pages) about them, but it had no relation to what my friend was teaching, beyond some shared concepts.
Reading the pdf is like reading Legacy Media propaganda about anti-Covid vaxxers (people like us) and people who knew about and promoted Ivermectin and HCQ during the height of Covid.

Yours Truly: The authors studied two cohorts in the Italian province of Pescara between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2022: those who were COVID-19 “vaccinated”, and those who were not “vaccinated.”
Yours Truly finds it interesting that the paper’s authors appear to “fall all over themselves” in listing “variables” related to the study — everything from “seasonal differences”, “calendar-time bias” regarding “pandemic waves”, “harvesting” (the deaths of the already-frail or very elderly), and more. However, the results are the results: COVID-19 “vaccination” reduces life expectancy.
IMO, the “non-vaccinated” may well need to think about this issue and how it will affect them.
One silver lining here is that the Cabal’s hold on the media continues to slip and it will that much harder for them to hide this as those numbers begin to pan out and it becomes easier for even the weak minded to see what’s happening.

Another feel good story for this day.
Yesterday at our local county jail, 35 inmates were baptized after making professions of faith in the Lord over the past few months. A baptismal ceremony was held in the exercise yard and pastors from two local churches that have prison ministries handled it.
All praise and glory to God! Much appreciation goes to our sheriff, officers and staff that also support and participate in the ministry. These men will now have a much better shot at following the right path back into society. Jobs await all that need them in local businesses upon their release.

I’ve read the newly released decision from the 4th Circuit denying the Administration’s Request for Stay pending appeal of Judge Xinis’s order for expedited discovery.
The 4th Circuit is not helping her cause.
Remember that the 4th Circuit denied the stay request on her Order that Abrego Garcia be returned to the United States on a Friday, giving the Admin. until the following Monday at midnight to do so.
The Supreme Court not only stayed her order, it remanded it with instructions.
Judge Xinis did not follow the instructions. SCOTUS told her to explain what she meant by “effectuate.”
Rather than do that she deleted it from her original order, and the new order simply said “Factilitate” his return to the US. The
SCOTUS had read her original order as to “Facilitate” his release from custody in El Salvador. She never even mentioned that when she ordered again he be “returned” to the U.S.
Now she has ordered the Govt to answer discovery about what the Govt has done to “facilitate” his return to the US when that is not what SCOTUS affirmed.
The Govt said “We read facilitate” as used in immigration regulations, and responded accordingly.
Today the Fourth Circuit says “Read “facilitate” no as used in a regulation but as commonly used.”
Ok – Judge Xinis never said that. The was told to define what she meant by effectuate and she just deleted the word. She has never been specific about she meant by “Facilitate.”
Even after the Fourth Circuit order the Govt does not know — other than the ultimate result — what steps she is directing the Govt to take.
She has been unwilling to do that because that would create a basis to appeal on the claim that her order exceeds her authority.
But that is why the SCOTUS said “Describe what you mean” — so everyone can evaluate whether what she means exceeds her authority.
The Fourth is running cover for her — but she did not comply with what SCOTUS told her to do.
This is going back to SCOTUS ASAP and I don’t expect that they will be too happy that the lower court judges seem to not be able to find their own limits on what it is they might be able to accomplish.
Now SCOTUS is having to put up with bad-faith lawfare and bad-actor judges.
SCOTUS is choosing to put up with bad faith bullshit from the lower levels. A couple of strong opinions throwing choke chains on the crap would end it. Instead, the associate justices don’t do the math that shows Roberts is outnumbered 8-1.

So, today, Yours Truly counted at least SEVEN “small planes flying low” around the Durham County, NC, area where Chez Yours Truly is located. I took a photo of the sky towards the ESE (roughly the direction towards RDU.) Those “horizontal clouds” were all over the place. They’re not normal.
Now, regarding the really awful seasonal allergies situation in this area: The same type of “small planes and what look like chemtrails” situation happened at just about this time last year. And, the results are similar: Lots of sneezing; running nose; bad sinus headaches; elevated levels of allergic conjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis issues; coughing; etc. These effects do not respond well to things like Claritin, nose sprays, etc. — the usual remedies for seasonal pollen in this area.
Early this evening, Yours Truly was outside, cleaning off a lawn chair. This chair was literally covered in yellow powder stuff. This powder stuff had a slight smell. This is NOT normal-looking North Carolina seasonal pollen, which is a yellow-green color and is slightly “greasy” to the touch.
Yours Truly decided to take a sample of this yellow powder stuff and a couple of photos of it that is on the front porch. I also decided to look up “what does sulfur powder look like.” Sure enough — the yellow powder stuff that’s everywhere around here matches the images of “sulfur powder” that I saw.
Here’s what Yours Truly is thinking:
The “small planes” in the low atmosphere that one hears every day (and also at night) are spraying some type of sulfur powder. This stuff is what’s making the seasonal allergy situation around here much worse this year — and likely also last year.

This will actually work. Even by odor detection. One can buy pure sulfur at both the pharmacy and the lawn and garden store. Burn a little bit, and compare the odor with the same quantity of this stuff. Easy to tell.

Somehow the Eastern US is avoiding reporting is what I suspect. Either by using outfits not required to report or hiding reports by naming conventions.
Most weather mod planes fly very high altitude.
Lower makes me think of crop duster type operations.
And sulfur is an agrochemical, very useful against some pests, and dirt cheap.
You easily have enough there for an elemental analysis. In the lab, when I was a student, it was required that everything in research labs get CHN analysis at a minimum.
Sulfur vs. pollen will easily show up in an elemental analysis.
