Due to being knocked low by the Wuhan Flu, President Donald Trump was out of the public eye for a few days. We’ve all been following that story rather closely. So has his base, and if he couldn’t bring the rally to the people, the people brought it to him.
Of course, that sent the other side into a tizzy.
Oh, well, there’s always Valium. They’re usually into science and all that. Of course, there’s always herbs of essence.
Brings back memories of road trips in an 8-cylinder station wagon with an 8-track where we sang this sort of thing, the Kingston Trio, the St. Louis Jesuits, Neil Diamond, and the Bert & Ernie Sing-a-Long album.
Good times.
Back to reality.
King, no. All boss, yes.
In the meantime, our favorite letter of the alphabet has gone quiet again. Signs of activity we don’t know anything about?
Time will tell.
Of course, the obvious theme for President Trump leaving the hospital after only a few days, and looking quite well despite the crepe hanging coming from the left and the dinosaur media:
To understand just what Williams does to orchestras [it’s ROUGH stuff] you have to watch it live. Unfortunately, this is the only live video at the correct tempo I could find.
And a reminder to take the pledge:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Bonus video (I’ve been waiting for this one):
And now for the nitty gritty of the Q Tree 5 minute, stand up, Tuesday morning meeting version of the Daily Thread.
Ahem.
Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.
The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out with anyone who happens to still be hanging out there.
This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.
Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:
- No food fights.
- No running with scissors.
- If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
And please, if you see something has not been posted, do us all a favor, and post it.

Today’s psalm in one of my favorite settings:
And the gospel reading that perfectly exemplifies why my grandmother’s middle name was Martha. She never could sit down when there was work to be done.
LUKE 10:38-42
38Now as they went on their way, he entered a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house. 39And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. 40But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; 42one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her.”
As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome. Via con Dios.
