Dear KAG: 20200618 Open Thread

Ain’t it the truth? For false flags, for sure.

Mood music…it’s summer…we’re living in interesting times…I’ve opened one too many fortune cookie….

What can I say…I’m a product of the 80s.

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, Q drop decodes, potential riot information, rumors about MAGA rallies starting up again, news flashes, WuFlu updates (is that still a thing?), satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

In the meantime, the short and sweet version of “THE RULES” is here borrowed from Tuesday:

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Since it is almost the weekend, the reminders are in place to not swing from the chandeliers, wash your hands and face, marinate the ribs, and be nice to the liberals whether they deserve it or not. Making your bed, OTOH, is optional.

Company manners, on the other hand, are greatly appreciated even if they aren’t necessary.

That’s a lot of work when so many people eat finger food these days.

Psalm 96(97)

For the same David, when his land was restored again to him. The Lord hath reigned, let the earth rejoice: let many islands be glad. [2] Clouds and darkness are round about him: justice and judgment are the establishment of his throne. [3] A fire shall go before him, and shall burn his enemies round about. [4] His lightnings have shone forth to the world: the earth saw and trembled. [5] The mountains melted like wax, at the presence of the Lord: at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

[6] The heavens declared his justice: and all people saw his glory. [7] Let them be all confounded that adore graven things, and that glory in their idols. Adore him, all you his angels: [8] Sion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Juda rejoiced, because of thy judgments, O Lord. [9] For thou art the most high Lord over all the earth: thou art exalted exceedingly above all gods. [10] You that love the Lord, hate evil: the Lord preserveth the souls of his saints, he will deliver them out of the hand of the sinner.

[11] Light is risen to the just, and joy to the right of heart. [12] Rejoice, ye just, in the Lord: and give praise to the remembrance of his holiness.

Here’s to avoiding speed traps and liberal Karens empowered by the nanny state who feel they must lecture the rest of us on proper social distancing and decorum, and all the insurrectionists arrested.

Now, how can I end this….

It looks like the ball calling operation was successful.

Oh, well, little snowflake, here’s something to listen to while waiting for your court date in your mother’s basement…and you’re probably too young to remember all the explosions involved in this program, or that it was the good guys blowing stuff up.

And now for the obligatory message from our sponsors:

Here at the Q tree we believe in the concept of CIVIL open free speech and the discussion that fleshes out ideas. When commenting and participating in the OPEN discussion on this thread all comments MUST NOT CONTAIN personal threats, baiting, name calling, or other anti-social words fomenting hate, violence or destruction. Our host Wolfm00n has strict rules about that.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

In addition, it is requested that there be no swinging from the chandeliers, celebratory gunfire, messing around with the nuclear weapons, and, please, everyone wash your hands.

Please, do not forget to apply sunscreen after a sensible vitamin D bath and after swimming at a safe social distance from all the people in chlorinated pools, which must maintain enough chemicals to kill just about everything except the Wuhan Flu that somehow will travel six feet in densely hot and humid air…unless you live where I do – the land of the moonbats – where the local municipal pool will be closed for the entire summer. I MUST leave this video in this week. Sorry.

Please remember to remain locked and loaded and ready for trouble should the insurrectionists try to invade your space.

Those who have things to say that do not fit the generally accepted limits of “civil” discussion, Wolf has provided a venue known as the UTree which is currently going through its water cooler/canteen phase. Please, venture over there for any such thoughts and comments. This sort of thing is always a possibility on that site:

MT 6:1-6, 16-18

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Take care not to perform righteous deeds
in order that people may see them;
otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.
When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you,
as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets
to win the praise of others.
Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you give alms,
do not let your left hand know what your right is doing,
so that your almsgiving may be secret.
And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Verses 7-15 from a different translation:

[7] And when you are praying, speak not much, as the heathens. For they think that in their much speaking they may be heard. [8] Be not you therefore like to them, for your Father knoweth what is needful for you, before you ask him. [9] Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

[11] Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. [12] And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen. [14] For if you will forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also your offences. [15] But if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your offences.

“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites,
who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners
so that others may see them.
Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door,
and pray to your Father in secret.
And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

“When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites.
They neglect their appearance,
so that they may appear to others to be fasting.
Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
so that you may not appear to others to be fasting,
except to your Father who is hidden.
And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.”

Note that the Latin “debitas” is the word that is translated as “trespasses” in English due to the context even if the Jesuits at Douay in the late 16th century went the “debt” route. Don’t want to get into an argument about it. The matter was settled by linguists far more knowledgeable than me.

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome. And this week, lots of prayers for those who have the virus, and those who have died due to it are part of daily prayer.

Have we buckled up?

And one more week…just ’cause.

Dear KAG: 20200616 Open Thread

First, a little mood music:

Yes, here at the Q Tree, for the most part, with at least one exception, beef is definitely what’s for dinner.

I depart from usual form on this Tuesday to amend my assertion put forth in Sunday’s commentary, We Are Not At The Brink…Yet.

The discussion on that thread, particularly this comment, plus some thinking (dangerous as it may be for me to do) leads me to change my mind:

cthulhu Edit

We’ll only know it when we’re well past it. About the time we have time to start counting the bodies.

Sort of like, “when does a retreat become a rout?” If you’re a participant, you can’t tell. If you were a neutral observer in a balloon, you couldn’t tell. But afterwards, you’ll know.

I get the idea we may well be in the midst of it now, as all the attempts the left is putting forth to get the people to demand a controlling government be put in place to keep them safe are backfiring – in spectacular fashion – to the point that there are mass defections from the Democrat party. Not only that, the blame is being placed by the people, not the media, squarely where it belongs – on Democrat governors, and mayors.

As Q said, some people have to be SHOWN what is really going on. As the days go by, more and more people are waking up.

Q !!Hs1Jq13jV6 ID: 4b50f0 No.9600507

The ‘how’ will be hard to understand for most.
Focus on the ‘why’.
The ‘when’ is now.
Q

And the sad thing is, there are a lot of us who believe it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

MysticRose80

“ Was it better for us as a country to limp along vaguely aware there was something wrong as the Cabal orchestrated our descent into a third world Shiffhole? Or are we now better off KNOWING about the evil lurking just under the surface so we can engage and destroy it.”

As disturbing as current events are, it is necessary to expose everything for the entire nation to see. Continuing down the path of ignorance, as a country, was doing more harm than good. If we want people to “awaken”, then they do need to see exactly what has been in hiding…..for years. Many of us have tried to inform our loved ones but to no avail. As Q has said repeatedly, sometimes you must show people the truth.

I expect that the next few months are going to get much more intense. This is no longer a left/right issue. This is a battle between good and evil.

Buckle up.

I totally agree. Several people here have warned keeping a decent supply of food, and other necessities is essential given that there is a chance they will not be available for a time in the coming months.

Oh, and if you haven’t already done so, sign up on GAB, just in case. That is the rendezvous point if the worst comes to pass.

And now for the nitty gritty of the Q Tree 5 minute, stand up, Tuesday morning meeting version of the Daily Thread.

We’re still in the Sermon on the Mount at this point in the cycle:

MT 5:43-48

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You have heard that it was said,
You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But I say to you, love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your heavenly Father,
for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good,
and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have?
Do not the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet your brothers only,
what is unusual about that?
Do not the pagans do the same?
So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Psalm 97(98)

Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: because he hath done wonderful things. His right hand hath wrought for him salvation, and his arm is holy. [2] The Lord hath made known his salvation: he hath revealed his justice in the sight of the Gentiles. [3] He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. [4] Sing joyfully to God, all the earth; make melody, rejoice and sing. [5] Sing praise to the Lord on the harp, on the harp, and with the voice of a psalm:

[6] With long trumpets, and sound of cornet. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king: [7] Let the sea be moved and the fulness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein. [8] The rivers shall clap their hands, the mountains shall rejoice together [9] At the presence of the Lord: because he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with equity.

1 KGS 18:20-39

Ahab sent to all the children of Israel
and had the prophets assemble on Mount Carmel.

Elijah appealed to all the people and said,
“How long will you straddle the issue?
If the LORD is God, follow him; if Baal, follow him.”
The people, however, did not answer him.
So Elijah said to the people,
“I am the only surviving prophet of the LORD,
and there are four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal.
Give us two young bulls.
Let them choose one, cut it into pieces, and place it on the wood,
but start no fire.
I shall prepare the other and place it on the wood,
but shall start no fire.
You shall call on your gods, and I will call on the LORD.
The God who answers with fire is God.”
All the people answered, “Agreed!”

Elijah then said to the prophets of Baal,
“Choose one young bull and prepare it first,
for there are more of you.
Call upon your gods, but do not start the fire.”
Taking the young bull that was turned over to them, they prepared it
and called on Baal from morning to noon, saying,
“Answer us, Baal!”
But there was no sound, and no one answering.
And they hopped around the altar they had prepared.
When it was noon, Elijah taunted them:
“Call louder, for he is a god and may be meditating,
or may have retired, or may be on a journey.
Perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.”
They called out louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears,
as was their custom, until blood gushed over them.
Noon passed and they remained in a prophetic state
until the time for offering sacrifice.
But there was not a sound;
no one answered, and no one was listening.

Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.”
When the people had done so, he repaired the altar of the LORD
that had been destroyed.
He took twelve stones, for the number of tribes of the sons of Jacob,
to whom the LORD had said, “Your name shall be Israel.”
He built an altar in honor of the LORD with the stones,
and made a trench around the altar
large enough for two measures of grain.
When he had arranged the wood,
he cut up the young bull and laid it on the wood.
“Fill four jars with water,” he said,
“and pour it over the burnt offering and over the wood.”
“Do it again,” he said, and they did it again.
“Do it a third time,” he said,
and they did it a third time.
The water flowed around the altar,
and the trench was filled with the water.

At the time for offering sacrifice,
the prophet Elijah came forward and said,
“LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel,
let it be known this day that you are God in Israel
and that I am your servant
and have done all these things by your command.
Answer me, LORD!
Answer me, that this people may know that you, LORD, are God
and that you have brought them back to their senses.”
The LORD’s fire came down
and consumed the burnt offering, wood, stones, and dust,
and it lapped up the water in the trench.
Seeing this, all the people fell prostrate and said,
“The LORD is God! The LORD is God!”

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome. And this week, lots of prayers for those who have the virus, and those who have died due to it are part of daily prayer.

I couldn’t decide on the Scripture passage between these two. Both seem appropriate right now.

1 KGS 17:7-16

The brook near where Elijah was hiding ran dry,
because no rain had fallen in the land.
So the LORD said to Elijah:
“Move on to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there.
I have designated a widow there to provide for you.”
He left and went to Zarephath.
As he arrived at the entrance of the city,
a widow was gathering sticks there; he called out to her,
“Please bring me a small cupful of water to drink.”
She left to get it, and he called out after her,
“Please bring along a bit of bread.”
She answered, “As the LORD, your God, lives,
I have nothing baked;
there is only a handful of flour in my jar
and a little oil in my jug.
Just now I was collecting a couple of sticks,
to go in and prepare something for myself and my son;
when we have eaten it, we shall die.”
Elijah said to her, “Do not be afraid.
Go and do as you propose.
But first make me a little cake and bring it to me.
Then you can prepare something for yourself and your son.
For the LORD, the God of Israel, says,
‘The jar of flour shall not go empty,
nor the jug of oil run dry,
until the day when the LORD sends rain upon the earth.’”
She left and did as Elijah had said.
She was able to eat for a year, and Elijah and her son as well;
the jar of flour did not go empty,
nor the jug of oil run dry,
as the LORD had foretold through Elijah.

MT 5:13-16

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.”

MK 12:28-34

One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him,
“Which is the first of all the commandments?”
Jesus replied, “The first is this:
Hear, O Israel!
The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
The second is this:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

There is no other commandment greater than these.”
The scribe said to him, “Well said, teacher.
You are right in saying,
He is One and there is no other than he.
And to love him with all your heart,
with all your understanding,
with all your strength,
and to love your neighbor as yourself

is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding,
he said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.”
And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

GN 3:9-15, 20

After Adam had eaten of the tree,
the LORD God called to him and asked him, “Where are you?”
He answered, “I heard you in the garden;
but I was afraid, because I was naked,
    so I hid myself.”
Then he asked, “Who told you that you were naked?
You have eaten, then,
from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat!”
The man replied, “The woman whom you put here with me—
she gave me fruit from the tree, and so I ate it.”
The LORD God then asked the woman,
“Why did you do such a thing?”
The woman answered, “The serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.”

Then the LORD God said to the serpent:
“Because you have done this, you shall be banned
    from all the animals
    and from all the wild creatures;
On your belly shall you crawl,
    and dirt shall you eat
all the days of your life.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
He will strike at your head,
while you strike at his heel.”
The man called his wife Eve,
because she became the mother of all the living.

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome. Via con Dios.

Dear KAG: 20200528 Open Thread

To celebrate America’s return to space even if the weather didn’t cooperate, here’s a little launch music.

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, news flashes, WuFlu updates, satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

And now for a little weekend warm-up dance music to blare in the neighborhood or at the state capitol of your choice.

JN 17:20-26

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying:
“I pray not only for these,
but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one,
that the world may know that you sent me,
and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me,
that they may see my glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you,
but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known,
that the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them.”

Here’s to avoiding speed traps and liberal Karens empowered by the nanny state who feel they must lecture the rest of us on proper social distancing and decorum.
