Company manners, on the other hand, are greatly appreciated even if they aren’t necessary.

Saw that coming, got an oximeter. I’m taking zinc, selenium, quercetin, C, and D and could easily have no overt signs. Doing CPAP, however, something in my lungs could be bad. So, while I’m snarfing down supplements, I take an O2 reading to see if I need to escalate.
It funny, as bad as the symptoms were – magnified senses, high fever for 80 hours, loss of appetite for two and a half weeks, etc. – I never had the dry hacking cough or breathing issues. But, then, I never smoked, either. I tested lung capacity like we do in opera training multiple times, and didn’t seem to have any problems. Now, I can fully inflate without issue.
My sister is still convinced we had influenza A, but I have my doubts. I’ve never had a bug that messed with my visual perception disorder before. And it was BAD. Walking into stores with fluorescent lights, I’d get a migraine that would be gone when I walked out. It could have been lack of food and sleep, but that usually takes about 45 minutes to develop. It was pretty instant.
I tested lung capacity like we do in opera training multiple times, and didn’t seem to have any problems.

From what I have read and been taught in multiple CCW classes, if we use our gun, self defense or not, we can expect to wear bracelets and likely get arrested. Police have to gather facts. DA makes a determination to prosecute.

Seeing smiley2’s pic last Wednesday, of the (then newly built) barricades in the scumtifa “autonomous zone” of present-day Seattle, brought back memories of reading _Les Miserables_, seeing it enacted on stage, and studying the history of the various French revolutions.
Recalling an exchange with SteveInCO on Sunday, June 7th about the history of pre-Communist Russia vis-a-vis the United States, I had what may be a profound realization.
A few moments of background:
The real revolution in human affairs is the American Revolution, which went through 3 phases, the philosophical phase (part of the 18th century Enlightenment, as made manifest on these shores, which began decades before the outbreak of hostilities, and continued for some time afterward;) the military phase, culminating in the Treaty of Paris and the surrender of Cornwallis; and the political phase, culminating in the ratification of the Constitution.
This revolution led to the situation in which we have found ourselves, at least partially, ever since. Namely, that, for the first time in history, there has been a nation founded explicitly on an idea, rather than by some accident of geography, ethnicity, linguistics, and/or military outcomes. And, further, that this idea is that man is endowed with individual rights, and that might must always be subordinated to these rights.
All opposition to this situation is not revolutionary, but counter-revolutionary.
Bolshevism, Nazism, Fascism, Japanese Militarism, Fabian Socialism, Maoism, UN-style Globalism, EU-style European multinational Know-Nothingism, Muslim Brotherhoodism, Iranian Mullahism, our contemporary Dixie-whistling anti-First Amendment soyboy Insurrectionism, etc., etc., ad nauseum, are all counter-revolutionary in nature, designed to retard human progress and to create a neo-feudal social and economic order.
All are directed, de jure or de facto, at reversing the American Revolution, and at annihilating its fruits.
The great French Revolution of 1789, German unification (AKA Prussian expansionism,) the Russian Revolution, the subsequent Bolshevik putsch, and most revolutions and so-called “revolutions” since then, have been ersatz or, worse, faked revolutions.

Tsar Alexander II “the Liberator”, freed the Russian serfs, opposed the Rothschilds banking interests, and, during the American Civil War, sent a fleet to collect, on behalf of the US government, the valuable customs duties from goods flowing into San Francisco Bay to supply the 49’s of the California Gold Rush.
The Tsar did this to help that other liberator, Abraham Lincoln, when the latter required every warship in the American Navy and American Coast Guard to blockade the Southern ports, to prevent the Southerners from financing their war effort by selling their valuable cotton crop to the textile enterprises of England and France.
This was in the context of the Democrat Andrew Jackson having forced the Rothschilds out of the US, by closing their Bank of the United States, and of the Republican Lincoln being forced to contend with a likely Rothschild-backed conspiracy to break the country up with the slaveholders’ Secession.
Alexander was able to finance the Russian national budget, despite the enmity of the Rothschilds, in part by selling Alaska to the US under Lincoln. And the gold and other natural wealth later found in Alaska, just as had the Californian gold, benefitted America without enriching the Rothschilds.
Following the Bolshevik putsch, Alexander II’s grandson, Tsar Nicholas II, and his wife and children were massacred on orders of Lenin.
The financial shenanigans on Wall Street (and presumably in the City of London) regarding WWI, the fall of the Tsar, the rise of the Bolsheviks, and so forth, have been well documented by Antony Sutton and others. The hidden hand of the central banking cartel is evident in the sordid tale.
Judging from the fates of Louis XVI and his family, Nicholas II and his, and Lincoln, should we assume that there is a ban, enforced in blood, on national leaders helping America and opposing the counter-revolutionary schemes of the Rothschild family?
Is this the situation in which Mr. Trump and his family members find themselves? Have they now, in effect, placed themselves on what the Chinese strategist Sun Tzu referred to as “death ground”, and now must either win or die in their quest to remove the parasitic banksters from world affairs?
Here’s what I am 100% sure of…
PDJT has been planning/plotting his presidency for decades…when one deals in commercial real estate, one necessarily develops a long-term view of things.
PDJT is clearly being aided and supported by a very adroit and savvy intelligence apparatus, most likely the DIA.
There has been any number of clever, complex, and in depth attempts to cause him to slip up and/or cost him the support of his political base. Every single effort has failed. Any other modern President prior to PDJT would have fallen by now.
Lastly…
If PDJT wins re-election and the GOP takes back the house while retaining control of the Senate, said banksters will become the hunted (if they are not already, and there is a fair bit of circumstantial evidence to suggest they already are).

Well, we live in NJ. Vote red and held up our end of the deal contributing to the pension system for decades. There are plenty of folks in blue states that do the right thing, live responsible disciplined lives and vote accordingly. Jumping up and down on everyone’s grave is a bad look.

I didn’t run for the school board or city council. Did you? I didn’t campaign door-to-door for Republicans every election. Did you? I didn’t march, protest, or hold up signage at every possible opportunity. Did you?
If you answer yes to all of the above, and you still live in a blue state, it is time to move. My state is still red, but I am doing MUCH MORE now than I used to to keep it that way. And I am still not doing enough, if I am completely honest, so I am looking for ways to make a difference that are doable for me. I can’t run for school board, I have too much baggage, but I can show up at every school board meeting. I can, and have, volunteered for campaigns and will continue to. I have a plan today, to do something for our local police department.
We have to do MORE.
I’m 68 years old. For the last 30 years my husband and I worked 6 days a week – he at the local university and I teaching public school. Plus we did our church gig on the weekends. Where else do you use an organ degree. So no, I did not spend every rare, spare waking hour calling people or walking around with signs. And frankly, I find your third degree insulting and ridiculous.
Is your pension fund fully funded? If it is not and the next economic collapse happens and more high tax paying citizens move out of state the unfunded liability will be astronomical.

Heh. The OT is going off on some eBay execs because they sent someone a live insect. Mind you, I think the eBay guys were over the top and picked the wrong person to go after. But back in the ’90s, we had a tussle with our landlord. The terms of our lease were that they would maintain the property in usable condition, pay all the bills for that, and bill us an additional 15% for their management skills. In order to inflate their management charges, they watered the lawn by our back lobby entrance every day, and replaced the flowers (in the ground) by our front entrance twice a week — they were planted with flowers from the nursery and never had the opportunity to flower a second time. In the meantime, they let real maintenance go by the wayside.
So I ended up sending them letters. Every time they changed flowers. And the letters got more and more detailed and longer and longer. The one that I’m thinking of culminated in the phrase “and our back entrance is a vermin-infested swamp” and included a live cockroach (caught on premises) in a plastic box. [The overwatered lawns drove all their normal denizens into the buildings to keep from drowning.]
Mind you, you could not wear leather soled-shoes across the lawn, and some of our female employees had actually had the heels of their shoes damaged.
So, yeah — you’re not going to just have me reflexively say that shipping people live insects is bad…..it’s just that some people deserve them and some don’t.

I want apologize for my caustic comment yesterday…
I truly am sorry if I offended any here that are in any of the religions I mention.
I divorced my church and religion in 1983. You’d have to know my past church history to know why. I was involved with some big names back then. I basically addressed some of them and told them God was going to bring their ministries to nothing…e.g. Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Marvin Gorman, others. I watched that come to pass exactly as I told them.
Having said that, I did not divorce true Christianity, but only grew stronger in that once I left the church and organized religion.
I have seen so many people hurt in the churches of all religions. Seriously hurt and wounded for life, even some giving up their faith and turning completely away from God. Many young children have been scarred for life and basically ruined before adulthood.
But still, I painted too broad of a stroke as I do realize, that God does have people who truly love Him with all their hearts in the Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, etc religions.
I apologize if I offended some here. At the same time, students of the Scriptures understand that as we near the end of this age, religion is going to get more and corrupt and homogenized.
But it is my personal belief that God will lead many out of the traditional houses of worship and gather them together in a state of pure worship of God.
One has to but view what has happened in the way of sexual perversions that were hidden to the masses of church goers, but that has been widely exposed over the last few years. And there was and is much of this in all the houses of all religion.
The other thing is, I deal with a lot of really bad elements and machinery. So some days it hits me all wrong and I kinda get caustic. That’s prolly when I need to stay offline and not let those things and anger overwhelm the better part of what I’d like to convey.
Again my apology to any here I offended yesterday. It really wasn’t my intent to address anybody here, but rather, a more general, national, worldwide recognition of the condition of religions was my real thrust and I could have said that elsewhere on another platform and said it in a better balanced way.
Yet, Jesus Himself went into the temple in furious anger with a cat-of-nine tails and drove the money-changers out. Makes me wonder what He would do today consider the far greater sex sins in the church today.
For all of you here who are Christians and attend a church of whatever religion, may I encourage you to draw nearer to God personally with all your hearts.
James says, draw near to God and He will draw near to you. He also says, resist the devil and he will flee. And there is a lot of bad stuff we are needing to resist…in and outside of the church at large, in our nation and in the whole world. We are being pressed by great, deep and powerful evil from all sides more than ever before.
This is what the Archbishop was saying to PDJT in that awesome letter. And that Archbishop is taking a severe beating from the leaders of his church over that letter. We should pray for him.
If God has you in your particular church, He may have you there for a purpose. I left being inspired to do so. It is best to wait on God to know what to do and not act on our own out of bitterness.

Try mouse traps surrounding the flowerpots. It works for training cats to stay OFF the kitchen counters. (I used a sneaker. I could hit a moving kitten with the sneaker from my spy station in the living room every time. 😁 I had a very well trained cat. He even came to a whistle.)

My paternal grandparents were not “slaves” but were “indentured servants” sent to western Canada as young orphans. Grandmother was from what was then Prussia and Grandfather was from Liverpool. That’s where they met, married, had 7 children and eventually migrated to the PNW of the USA.
Regretfully, I know very little about their lives…much too young when they were alive to inquire and it wasn’t talked about, at least in my presence, among their children. It was a tough existence on the western plains of Canada in the early 1900’s.
On the maternal side, there were 12 children, perhaps in even more dire circumstances in the mountains of Arkansas …who eventually made their way to the PNW to pick the crops.
My parents were among the youngest so I have many significantly older cousins…all hard-working, productive and fiercely independent, in their own way. But, you might not be surprised when I tell you I was the first among all those many offspring to go to college. And, you might not be surprised that my aspirations were not always supported by the rest of the family at the time…tough to be a trail blazer.
Fascinating! My parents once had a man over for dinner who had been on one of those Orphan Trains West, perhaps from NYC. He had many tales to tell, but me being a teenager (I think) at the time didn’t pay much attention, sadly. Trials, abuse, oppression, pulling up by bootstraps know no bounds nor are they defined by one’s color.
I’ve watched quite a few episodes of “Finding Your Roots” which is hosted by (the Boston police acted stupidly) Henry Louis Gates, who comes across to me as pretty majorly racist & obsessed with color (he’s mixed race himself & apparently quite conflicted about it) & America’s slave past.
In the show’s forays into notable’s genealogical past he’s regularly highlighting slave & slave-owning pasts of guests of many colors. It’s fascinating, & practically ubiquitous, how often these discussions reveal the complexity of the slave history narrative. Those pesky ancestors just don’t want to fall in with liberal orthodoxy whatsoever!
Some blacks discover that their ancestors were never slaves & it’s implied that some of their current success is Because they weren’t held back by ever not having been Free. Some whites who had children with blacks & mulattoes were found to have married the person not just forcibly impregnated them. Some blacks owned slaves, including even some of their own family members, which is excused & described as a “protective” move for the family, but do we really know?
It’s impossible to get a completely accurate picture of Any aspect of the past. However superimposing a template of modern mores & perspectives on complex issues doesn’t serve to enlighten us. Reading documents of the past can at least afford us a glimpse into the viewpoints of another era. Even scripture, with the slave Choosing to have the ear pierced against a post to serve his/her master for life reveals a social complexity that we cannot fully grasp from our modern perch.
Sounds like you have a remarkably resilient family…& you are a stand out warrior in this life with your trail blazing! Kudos!!!

Anyone refusing to wear a mask will be escorted off the airplane and added to that airline’s “no fly” list. Anyone who takes off their mask in flight will be added to the airline’s “no fly” list upon arrival.
And no, the airlines will not recognize a pre-existing medical condition (like asthma) as a valid excuse to avoid wearing a mask.
The airlines’ position is: Either you can/will wear a mask and fly, or you can’t wear one in which case there are other modes of transportation (train, car) one can use.
Is there a lower age limit involved? Or is this kids, too.

No stress by me. When I retired, I made the firm decision to never again fly domestic. If I can’t reasonably drive to a destination, I don’t need to get there.

Store employees generally work 8 hours plus lunch and two 15 minute breaks that are included in the 8 hours. The breaks and lunch time would really break up the 8 hour day and then figure in bathroom breaks and it is not as bad as it seems.

This is maddening to me. Shining someone’s shoes, or any service to another, is a good thing.
