20200226: ABC Expose, Project Veritas ~ James O'Keefe, III

Here is the video, released today:

David Wright, Senior Correspondent, magna cum laude at Harvard, additional degree from Oxford, has been suspended by ABC. In video, Wright freely admits he’s a socialist, does not hold Trump to account, nor does he give Trump credit when due. He agrees, his network is only interested in three main things, 1) The outrage of the day, 2) the “investigation”, and 3) the palace intrigue of who is stabbing someone else in the back.

Andy Fies, long time ABC News Producer, is also on video, admitting New Yorkers don’t understand how anyone could like Trump……. and they probably need to cross the fu&&ing Hudson and figure out why.

Quite an interesting 7 minute video.

The Washington Post reported on the “sting” done by Project Veritas, and the Post article was picked up by MSN, found here. Watch this……

The choppy, poorly shot video, released Wednesday morning by Project Veritas, captured Wright on what appeared to be a hidden camera, seeming to complain in general terms about political coverage.

“I don’t think we’re terribly interested in voters,” he said, echoing gripes about the superficiality of some aspects of White House and campaign coverage that have been raised by journalists for decades. Also: “Commercial imperative is incompatible with news.”

Okay, from the same article, now look at this part:

Although O’Keefe has defended the organization’s methods as journalistically sound, mainstream news organizations have largely abandoned the practice of infiltrating businesses or organizations to record video without a subject’s knowledge or consent. News organizations generally consider the practice deceptive, and doing so can subject them to criminal trespass penalties.

What? I’m old enough to remember 60 minutes doing undercover videos and trespassing all over businesses and bureaucrats. When did it become “untoward”?

20200226: Raising Young Men

Saw this article this morning, and I started thinking…..

Discussion welcome. Can’t wait to see what you guys think.
Here, we have a Police Officer who arrested a 6yr old girl in school. She threw a tantrum, kicked and screamed. Officer picked her up from school (obviously someone at school called the police), charged her with misdemeanor battery, fingerprinted the little girl at the police station, before the state atty said she would drop the charges and let her go into Grandma’s custody. Of course, Grandma is mad and will probably sue the police department.
Officer also arrested another 6yr old boy.
The Officer was fired for not getting the approval of Watch Commander for arresting a child under age 12. What happened to common sense? Why is all this activity necessary? Is it because we turned over the job of parenting our children to the state? Cuz………., that’s what I’m seeing.

Personally, I see this as a waste of Police Officer’s time, coupled with a new and alien phase of teachers who are afraid to discipline students in a classroom. AND bad parents. BUT, let’s stop and think about it. Who really knows what goes on behind closed doors and the struggles therein? Are we judging without knowing? Probably.

Here’s the other side of the story. I confess. I had a stepson who decided he wanted to run away from home. He was about 8yrs old at the time, trying to bluff me, and I knew it. I said, “Okay, fine. Your father and I will miss you but we understand how you feel……”, which left him quite confused. I can’t even remember why he was mad, but I helped him pack up his little Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle suitcase he used to take to grandma’s when he spent the night.
I shook his hand goodbye at the back door.
Gheez, he was a stubborn kid.

He took off across the parking lot at the school next door, walking real slow and dragging his feet. He kept looking over his shoulder, waiting for me to capitulate and come after him.
I didn’t move – I was committed, but I could still see him.
About 10 minutes into the event but with stepson still in eyesight, Grady drove up, local police officer. He stopped to say hello every time I was watering my flowers.
I told him about my problem with stepson and told Grady to go and arrest him.
Grady was surprised at first. Yet, it was a Sunday afternoon, he wasn’t busy in our little township, and with a sly grin, he understood my dilemma, completely.
Grady wheeled his car around, turned on the blue lights, and went to “arrest” my stepson. No handcuffs, we agreed.

Within 5 minutes, I met them both at the police station, which is also in eyesight of our house.
Stepson knew he was in BIG trouble.
Never had another problem……
Don’t ever bluff a Momma.
Of course, we teased my stepson about “the time he ran away” with great regularity over the years, but that boy always pushed my limits.

Flash forward, stepson about age 14-15.

He had a girlfriend in a neighboring county who was a superb young woman. We encouraged their dating even though the distance was a problem, and neither kid could drive. On a Saturday night, I took off from home about 11:00pm, and went to pick him up from a “date”….. quiet and dark roads. No traffic at all.
We struck up a conversation on the way home.
I asked him about his date. He had fun, but something was off.
We rode for a while in silence, and then he blurted out his problem.
His best buddy, Jeremy, had run away from home.
“What?”, I said, and my back stiffened.

Jeremy was like my own kid. Jeremy’s mother was a dear friend to me, owned a successful biz around the corner from our house. The boys had been best friends since cub scouts. When Jeremy had problems with step-dad, he lived with us for months on end – which really wasn’t all that different because he was at our house all the time anyway.
But this time Jeremy had run away for real.

Jeremy had called my step-son, during his date, and Jeremy was afraid, calling out for help, but unwilling to call his mother. Stepson was giving me details, fast and furious, but in no particular order, and I was trying to keep up with the story.
My stepson was visibly upset.
Jeremy was still stubborn and “in over his head”.
I asked my stepson “WHY” was Jeremy afraid?
Within a nano-second, “Where is Jeremy?” I was wide awake, and readjusting in my seat by then….
The answer came, “Well, Jeremy has been living in a hay barn, just south of St Louis.” Me, at lightning speed by then, “Almost 300 miles away!!??” From stepson, “Yeah, but the local farmer discovered he was living there and threw him off the property.”
“What?”
Stepson was sad, he missed his friend, but understood the problems.
“What????”
“A hay barn????”, at that point, I think my stepson was wondering if he made a mistake by telling me. I could tell my stepson was having a difficult time with this, and I stopped, backed up, calmed down, asap.
I was trying to wrap my head around the idea of Jeremy in a hay barn. I rubbed his shoulder and said, “Honey, it’s going to be close to 30 degrees tonight, cold outside and even colder in Missouri. What the heck was he thinking?”
“I don’t know, mom”, said my stepson.

Silence for a few minutes. My brain was running at full tilt. There was no possible way, no possible ulterior motive or condition which existed, where I could leave Jeremy alone. No, no way….. no matter what the repercussions. No.

We turned onto the interstate for our last leg of the trip home to our house, and I turned north, instead of south.
“What are you doing, mom?”
“We’re going to get Jeremy…….”, I said.
Objections, loud objections, “Mom, you can’t interfere”
From me, “The hell I can’t!”

I called Tina, my friend and Jeremy’s mom, and woke her up. She explained the situation. Jeremy was a brilliant, rich, and stubborn young man…. which I already knew. And she told him to call her when he was ready, but he was defiant. He was unwilling to call, to capitulate, and it was killing her, but she had made her stand and her husband was a bigger part of the problem, throwing gas on the fire.
I told her I was going to get him and they could work it out later.
She was actually relieved.
Then, I called my husband. He insisted on coming with us, but I refused to come home and pick him up. He didn’t have the personality for what lay ahead. He was furious, but he was a strong man and intimidating. This….. this needed a lighter touch.

My stepson called Jeremy, told him we were coming, and they talked back and forth several times…. to arrange where to meet.
And off we went to St Louis….. in the middle of the night, fog rolling low of over the pastures, almost no traffic save the friendly semi-trucks, ….. we made great time.
We met Jeremy that night under an interstate bridge. I’ll never forget it. He didn’t want to be close to a gas station or attract any attention. He was only wearing a light jacket and had been gone for over 6 weeks. I thought to myself, “guilt”, how the heck could Jeremy be missing for 6 weeks and me not know about it?
Surreal.

We got out of the car, Jeremy not quite knowing what to expect. I threw my arms round that kid, so happy to see him, alive and unharmed. No yelling, just grateful he was okay. Within 15 seconds he was sobbing into my shoulder.
His parents were multi-millionaires. Jeremy had every advantage and yet, he was a miserable kid just trying to find his way.
Amazing how an argument can start as nothing and blossom into a catastrophe.
But at 3:00am a Waffle House can cure what ails almost anyone. Those boys were so hungry.

Both boys fell asleep on the way home. They were almost grown men but huddled together in the back of the blue-bomb mini-van, sharing Grandma Della’s homemade afghan, like they used to do when they were little cub scouts.
I rode in silence, deeply humbled and relieved. There but for the grace of God, go I. I thought about Tina and what she was going through. I thought about how I would react if my stepson was 300 miles away, living in a barn, and cold. It made me react physically. I was shaking and white knuckled, gripping the steering wheel. The thought of what could have happened scared the heck out of me. Sigh…..

Gosh, I do admire an independent streak in a young man, it means they have spirit, which is the best thing we could ever give to a child. Certainly, I raised Gunner to be incredibly independent, and at times, wow, I have learned to regret it……..

I’ll admit, as a mom, whenever my husband would try to hover over the kids and limit activities, I would argue for independence, allowing them plenty of rope to test limits. In a small town, we could always rescue them if one got into too much trouble. My standard line was, “You know, if it was 200 yrs ago, by age 16, those boys would have a wife, maybe a child on the way, and 200 acres to farm.” and then turn to the child, “Of course I trust you, …..dear” ….. which was the kiss of death and meant they couldn’t screw up. It made them responsible adults. Normally, it worked.

Sometimes though, our terrific young men, they just need a little help, a little bit of space, neutral ground, and a 3:00am Waffle House run in Missouri.

By the time we reached Memphis, the sun was up and my husband was calling, anxious, making the boys even more apprehensive. Yet, he was legitimately worried about all of us. We arrived at home and he was waiting in the driveway. My first husband had the ability to LOOK at those boys, and they would immediately start crying. The boys were nervous and didn’t know what to expect from him. Slowly, they unfolded their stiff bodies from the mini-van. Were they in trouble? Going to be torn apart? Yet, I have to give my ex-husband credit. He handled it perfectly….. hugged them both hard, for a long time. He told them to get some sleep, take a shower, and everything would be okay.

And it was.

Only a man can understand an adolescent male, and the innate natural desire for a young man to stake a claim, stand for something – even if it’s wrong when they’re teenagers. It’s something a mom can’t do no matter how hard we try. It takes both parents to raise a young man. Sure, a lighter touch from mom is often needed because young men go from an eight-year-old, to 40-year-old, and back to a 12-year-old, in the same conversation. A stern look from Dad, which can make a child crumble, is definitely necessary but comes in handy. Above all, a little bit of silence, no quick judgement, and plenty of long hard hugs make everything better, no matter how old they are.

When Jeremy returned to school, he was quite the legend. The stories of his nights “on the lamb” and our midnight run to Missouri grew like exaggerated “fish stories” as the years passed. He was a handsome young fellow and the girls swooned around him. I rolled my eyes. He was the consummate bad boy. But a strange thing happened along the way….. Thankfully, my legend grew a little bit as well because it was part of Jeremy’s story. It went like this: “Because, No matter where you are, Miss Daughn will come and find you.” It was strange and liberating for the kids. It meant they had a sense of security, to step off of base…. The kids never did anything really bad, no gun-running or drug-dealing, but they had a feeling if they ever really got into trouble, they could call Miss D, and magically, I could fix it. In a weird way, it gave them more independence. Over the next dozen years, there were many phone calls, but nothing too severe.

As my own son, Gunner, grew up, he had thousands of miles of rope to test his independence. We kept thinking he would screw up, mildly, a little bit, and waited for it. Nothing. Straight as an arrow, that kid, …… until one time, he called me at midnight from his dorm. He was quite upset, ranting and raving. I tried to calm him down to no avail. He cried and sobbed, inconsolably. After an hour, he hung up on me.

What? My son had never hung up on me. What was going on? I woke Big T up and he was concerned as well. It was unlike Gunner. Big T was pacing the floor and suggested we drive down to his college. I nodded, but thought I should go alone, again, over his objections….. softer touch, save the big guns for when we need them. I couldn’t sleep anyway, took a shower, and started driving. I woke Gunner up, in his dorm, at 5:00am. “Mom, what are you doing here?”, he said, embarrassed. I looked at him and squinted, “Because no matter where you are, I will FIND you.” and then, “You want to tell me what’s going on?” It was hormones, over-reaction, thinking too much and caring what other people think too much. He was lonesome and had lost perspective. I took him to the grocery store and restocked his little fridge. He was fine……………

We went to Waffle House for breakfast.

And I let the rope out again…………

Kids are tough, and take all of our effort, but being a mom is the best job I’ve ever had. Why would any parent trust the bureaucracy with such an important job?

“An End to Hatred and Revenge”

Leviticus 19:1…18
1 Corinthians 3:16-23
Matthew 5:38-48

My Brothers and Sisters in the Lord –

One of the most difficult human responses to control is not to retaliate when someone deliberately does harm to us. When we are hurt, we want to strike back. When those we love have been hurt, we want to retaliate! However, then, more retaliation becomes the objective of the one who hurt us in the first place. At that point, things usually escalate beyond control.

This scenario is also the case between families, larger groups, and even nations. And the result is usually warfare of some kind – with great damage and harm to others who are innocent of any wrong-doing!

At the root of most deliberate harm to others is hatred – And hatred, by definition, seeks the destruction of the one who is hated. I mention all the foregoing because the scriptures for today have much to teach us about dealing with hatred and revenge.

In the Book of Leviticus, God commands us to be holy, for He, the Lord our God, is holy! We are made in God’s image – as is every other human being who has ever lived. We should and must reflect God’s goodness and His Glory. We cannot have hatred in our minds and hearts and be able to do this. Consequently, revenge is forbidden and so are the grudges that lead to hatred and revenge. In fact, whenever we get back at another with hatred in our heart, we become godless ourselves and no different than those who did evil to us!

4000 years ago the Chosen People were very limited in their moral development. God had to bring them, gradually, to a higher sense of moral consciousness. Thus, they understood that God’s command to love extended only to family, neighbors, and other members of the Hebrew nation. Enemies were outside this prohibition!

It’s no wonder, then, that Jesus created such a stir with his contemporaries. In St. Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that we must love our enemies and pray for those who do us harm. The Law of the Talion which permitted retaliation, but only equal in kind, was not permitted from a true disciple. A disciple must turn the other cheek – go the extra mile – give even more than what is demanded! Because only by this kind of loving response, to whatever others do to us, can they be changed – and the seed of love planted in their hearts!

The moral development of the human race has taken centuries to evolve to where it is today. However, it is still far from being universal. Some are still at stage #1, which endorses unlimited revenge. Some are at stage #2, which is the limited revenge of the Talion – “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”. Some are at stage #3, which is the Silver Rule of not doing to others what we do not want them to do to us. Some are at stage #4, which is the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And, since the time of Jesus, some are at stage #5, which means loving even our enemies as the children of God which they truly are!

However, loving our enemies does not mean that we do not try to do what we can to change them, their thinking, and their behavior. If they are at a lower stage of moral development, then we might be forced to bring pressure on them at a level they can, at least, begin to understand. But we must never do so with hatred or the spirit of revenge!

Finally, Brothers and Sisters, St. Paul reminds us that we are all temples of God. Unfortunately, too many today don’t know this – or if they do, they don’t take it seriously. If we take it seriously, we will focus upon doing all that Jesus asks of us in his Gospel – and on what the Holy Spirit reveals to our hearts. This is how we can change – This is how we can help others change – And if enough others change – then will our world, itself, be changed!

So, let us pray, today, for God’s grace and for God’s wisdom – May we bring God’s love and life into a world that has known hatred for far too long!

Amen.

More Like The Master

More like the Master I would ever be,
More of His meekness, more humility;
More zeal to labor, more courage to be true,
More consecration for work He bids me do.

More like the Master is my daily prayer;
More strength to carry crosses I must bear;
More earnest effort to bring His kingdom in,
More of His Spirit, the wanderer to win.

More like the Master I would live and grow;
More of His love to others I would show;
More self-denial, like His in Galilee,
More like the Master I long to ever be.

Take Thou my heart, I would be Thine alone;
Take Thou my heart and make it all Thine own.
Purge me from sin, O Lord, I now implore,
Wash me and keep me Thine forevermore.

Let the comments flow, and let’s see where we stand in the morning. Chances are, by the time the rest of the world wakes up, it will be over for the day.

………. might have to stay up tonight……

20200224: State Visit to India ~ Day 1, "Kem Chho Trump", or "How Are You Trump?"

Roll up your sleeves. This is an official STATE VISIT. Days of pomp and ceremony and…… it looks like a trade deal is on the schedule.

It will take a LONG time to get to India, and the events are scheduled for February 24-25, thus today is mostly a travel day. Let’s use it to brush up on the background.

The event is being called: “Kem Chho Trump”, or “How Are You Trump”

Let’s get oriented on our map of India.

Where they will go —- The Trumps will visit New Delhi and Ahmedabad, which is in Mr. Modi’s home state of Gujarat and “played such an important role in Mahatma Gandhi’s life and leadership of the Indian independence movement,” said White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham. = https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/feb/10/donald-and-melania-trump-visit-india-feb-24-25/

The President and FLOTUS Melania will travel to New Delhi (Capital of India) and Ahmedabad (Capital of the State of Gujarat and home of Modi). New Delhi is located at the top of India in the middle. You see it? The Yamuna River flows through New Delhi, and if you follow the Yumana south, about 130 miles, we come to the town of Agra, famous for it’s rich red sandstone, ancient and gorgeous, …….. and on the banks of the Yamuna, sits the Taj Mahal.

They’re really in New Delhi to visit the Presidential Palace. and in Gujarat to open the largest cricket stadium in the world. The Stadium holds 110K people. Yet, the buzz is about the trip to the Taj Mahal. The Trumps will get to see the Taj Mahal and the photos of Melania + plus the President……. at the Taj Mahal….. gosh, they will be iconic photos just like Princess Diana (Think I’m joking? The India Press is already talking about the 1992 photo of Diana sitting alone)…. only happier……. Can’t imagine what Secret Service is thinking right now.

The press in India is whipped into a frenzy. I’ve been working on his post for about a week. Putting the finishing touches on it yesterday, there were 40 Trump articles from ONE media outlet in a single day. Everyone is busy in India.

FILE PHOTO: A worker paints footpath in front of Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, where U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to visit during his upcoming trip to India, in Ahmedabad, India, February 14, 2020. REUTERS/Amit Dave/File Photo

The whole city of Agra is getting spruced up. Huge local controversy about a wall being built to shield a poor section from view. Modi being pilloried in the press for it.

We even have crazy news stories ~~~ worried about Donald Trump being attacked by monkeys at the Taj Mahal. No kidding.

https://twitter.com/ashoswai/status/1230611540115689473

Back to the map from above: From New Delhi, travel WSW and you can see the town of Jodhpur, the shining pink city, because of the sparkles in it’s sandstone. We have some at our house. Keep going SW to the town of Ahmedabad, this is the capitol of the state of Gujarat, and the home of Modi. Yes, Modi wants to bring Trump to his home and it will be like nothing we’ve ever seen in the USA. I recall a wedding Big T and I were invited to in Jodhpur….. there were 14K people there and it lasted for 5 days. No one does a party like the Indians.

Trump’s over-the-top taste for tamasha fits well with that of his host Narendra Modi who is readying a mega show called ‘Kem Chho Trump’ in Ahmedabad, a glitzier and bigger version of the ‘Howdy Modi’ event in which Trump participated.

The billboards are up everywhere….

The Indian and Amerian Flags are lining the streets. The silver is polished. Everyone is ready.

Check out the people on the street in this MSM Video: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/preparations-underway-for-president-trumps-first-official-visit-to-india/vi-BB10f4b4

FLOTUS Melania is going to attend a “happiness class” at a public school in South Delhi. Might be a great remedial class for the press.

Indian media reported that Melania pulled 10 women together to assist her during the visit. The FLOTUS is said to meet the group upon her arrival. There are claims that the team was given special training on how to communicate with Melania and was ordered to ditch the customary khaki uniform for blazers and trousers.

Okay, the rest of the post is more background. Videos we could find of Modi and Trump together, to see how the two men interacted. I tried to do this in calendar order.

June 26, 2017: At the White House ~ this was “The Hug”

February of 2018: This flew under the radar. President Trump and Modi in a hotline phone call to block China and a rising crisis in the Maldives. Interesting……

June 27th, 2019: G20 In Japan, President Trump aligns with Abe and Modi. Poor Panda Xi was not invited to supper. No ice cream for Xi.

The two leaders also met in August at the G7 summit held in the French town of Biarritz.

The meeting had come just days after the two leaders attended the mega ”Howdy Modi” rally in Houston which was attended by more than 50,000 Indian-Americans in Houston, TX. You HAVE to see this Three Minute Clip.

We have the Leader of India, Modi, of the largest Democracy in the world, and President Trump, the American President and de facto leader of the World…… together, in a stadium with 50K people. WATCH Modi find President Trump in the crowd, grab Trump’s hand……. and never let go. They decide to walk together, Secret Service scrambles (Um, where you going Mr. President, sir?) and photographers start flipping out (This wasn’t on my schedule, MUH SCHEDULE!), trying to capture the iconic moment for history. Watch the crowd reaction. The buzz starts slow and spreads like WILDFIRE. People from the other side of the floor RUN across the middle to catch a glimpse of the two men. Suddenly, there is an ARMY of Black Suit Security around them. What a terrific moment!

Here is the whole thing, expanded version, from FOX. One hour and 23 minutes = whole thing

September of 2019: Trump’s visit follows PM Modi’s tour of the US in September, during which he met with the US President in New York on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

February 12th, 2020. Trump speaks from the Oval about visiting India. “Modi is a great gentlemen.”

And that bring us up to today. It’s going to be a spectacular few days. Get plenty of sleep tomorrow. We’re leaving on a jet plane first thing in the morning. Twitter is on fire about the visit. Take a look at a few postings.

On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, you can find something here that will build you up a little . . . give you a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn nor weep.” . . . “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Alone with God

And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples. –John 6:3

Just prior to this miraculous multiplying of the bread and fish, Jesus “went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples”(6:3). That fact is noteworthy. It seems plain that Jesus withdrew purposely from the great press of people who had been pursuing Him.

There are some things that you and I will never learn when others are present. I believe in church and I love the fellowship of the assembly. There is much we can learn when we come together on Sundays and sit among the saints. But there are certain things that you and I will never learn in the presence of other people.

Unquestionably, part of our failure today is religious activity that is not preceded by aloneness, by inactivity. I mean getting alone with God and waiting in silence and quietness until we are charged with God’s Spirit. Then, when we act, our activity really amounts to something because we have been prepared by God for it….

Now, in the case of our Lord, the people came to Him, John reports, and He was ready for them. He had been quiet and silent. He had sat alone with His disciples and meditated. Looking upward, He waited until the whole hiatus of divine life moved down from the throne of God into His own soul. He was a violin tuned. He was a battery recharged. He was poised and prepared for the people when they came. Faith Beyond Reason, 130,133. “Lord, I’ll spend a lot of time in the company of people today, but just now I come in quietness and silence to wait for You to fill me. Amen.”

A.W. Tozer

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10

Be silent before the Sovereign Lord, for the day of the Lord is near.
Zephania 1:7

In The Garden

I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

Charles A. Miles 1913

Be Still And Know

“I believe in God, though He is silent.”
These are the words that some of us say.
“But I keep my faith and go on living,
Hoping to hear something every day.”

Busy days go by and turn into weeks
We keep thinking that He’ll speak to us soon
Our thoughts now turn to things that we’ve done
And His discipline, the vines that He prunes

Busy days and more, running to and fro
Time rushes by with more thoughts, too
Life and distractions fill up all our time
And we don’t give God the respect he’s due

Now is the time to stop and think
Is God now silent with nothing to say
Or is it us who aren’t listening
Far too busy as our lives run astray

God never leaves us, He promised us so
Though we don’t listen, He’s with us still
God promised us good, a future and hope
He’ll deliver, no doubt that He will

We may not listen, and that to our shame
But God is speaking to us every day
He’s everywhere and all around us
Speaking to us in so many ways

God is Creator, He made everything
Earth and heavens show His mighty power
The beauty in nature, the sights and sounds
The oceans speak as do fields of flowers

The Patriarchs, Psalms and the Prophets, too
Their words in the Bible speak loud and clear
Christ and His Apostles all spread the word
If we take time to read, then we’ll hear

The music we hear, praise, worship and thanks
All have messages for us to regard
Music makes us feel, words make us think
The rhythm and rhymes of musical bards

Other believers, events of the day
May carry meanings for us to heed
Listen for His voice and check with His Word
There may be wisdom that we sorely need

God’s Spirit within us speaks in our minds
Teaching and guiding us along our ways
God’s Spirit nudges, but may push and shove
To give us His guidance, day after day

We come to God, our heads bowed in prayer
As we speak to Him, He speaks to us, too
Our prayers will be answered: yes, no or wait
We may not hear it, but He’ll guide us through

In all of these ways, God speaks to us
But we need to listen to hear His voice
Be consumed with the world through all our days
Or “Be still and know” – we must make that choice

Be Still

Did you decide to make the choice
To slow down and listen for His voice?
Or was the decision made for you –
It just happened out of the blue

Some say that God’s voice is very small,
We must be still to hear it at all
Some fill their days with so much to do
That I suppose for them that’s true

I think God’s voice is loud and clear
But man has chosen not to hear
The heavens declare it from above
God will be heard; it’s part of His love

Be Still . . .

As we go from day to day,
To here and there along our way,
Always busy and so involved,
But is it that for which we’re called?

Two meetings here, lunch over there,
Two more tonight, what will I wear?
Pick up the kids, calls on the phone,
Just three quick stops, and then we’re home.

Someone’s been wronged, I must speak out.
My help is needed, there’s no doubt.
We’ll make a plan to fight this thing
And not be stopped by anything.

We’ll find problems, expose them all
And make the guilty take their fall.
We’ll be vigilant day and night
And fight for what we know is right.

But . . .

We must not fail to see God’s plan,
To trust in Him and not in man.
Do we take time for what God said,
Wait for Him to work in our stead?

Seek His face, be still and know
He is God, and learn to let go,
To trust in Him to win the fight,
Dispel the darkness with His Light.

Be still before Him, and so wait
With patience, for God controls fate.
Vengeance is His, and judgment just,
Acknowledge Him, give Him your trust.

So as we go from day to day
To here and there along our way,
Let’s all slow down and know His grace,
Seek His kingdom and see His Face.

“The Peace of Meditation”

So we may know God better
And feel His quiet power,
Let us daily keep in silence
A meditation hour . . .
For to understand God’s greatness
And to use His gifts each day,
The soul must learn to meet Him
In a meditative way . . .
For our Father tell His children
That if they would know His will
They must seek Him in the silence
When all is calm and still . . .
For nature’s greatest forces
Are found in quiet things
Like soft falling snowflakes
Drifting down on angels’ wings,
Or petals dropping soundlessly
From a lovely full-blown rose,
So God come closest to us
When our souls are in repose . . .
So let us plan with prayerful care
To always allocate
A certain portion of each day
To be still and meditate . . .
For when everything is quiet
And we’re lost in meditation,
Our soul is then preparing
For a deeper dedication
That will make it wholly possible
To quietly endure
The violent world around us,
For in God we are secure.

  • Thursday Morning, President attends Graduation Ceremony for Prisoners in Vegas, signature program. If he can actually reduce the recidivism rate, it would be a major accomplishment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L79bm98B0IM (many comments on Roger Stone)
  • President flies to Colorado Springs for rally.
  • Colorado Springs, CO Thu, February 20, 2020 05:00 pm (MST) Full rally found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXorIaY0gVk

  • President is flying BACK to DC.
  • After speaking at three rallies in three days in three states, attending a California fundraiser, The Bakersfield Water Board, the Olympic Committee, and Las Vegas graduation speech, Trump will have one day to rest up before he heads to India for a two-day visit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (and Melania is going to India with him) We’re on that roller coaster.

“President Trump has delivered for Nevada creating 125,600 new jobs since his election, including 16,800 new manufacturing jobs and 24,400 new construction jobs,” wrote Michael Glassner, Chief Operating Officer of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. “President Trump looks forward to celebrating this success and more with the great men and women of Nevada.”, according to the Reno Gazette: https://www.rgj.com/story/news/politics/2020/02/15/trump-rally-supporters-las-vegas-next-week/4772971002/

Nice to have Trump Vegas as a headquarters for operations out west!

Do you suppose President Trump will stay in the Presidential Suite of the Trump Tower in Vegas? Here is one penthouse suite, three bedrooms, about 3,000sq ft., and goes for about $1500/night. the view is right up the strip. Here is the bathroom. Not bad, eh?

You know how campaigns are often limited in their sign sizes? And we all know how expensive it is to buy billboards during campaigns, right? Well, how about this TRUMP sign, strategically placed at the end of The Strip?

Somehow, Bernie and Bloomberg just don’t have the same kind of presence in Nevada as Trump does. Hmmm…… In a BRILLIANT move to save funds and unify the party, the Nevada Repub Comm cancelled their caucus in February over a year ago. Effectively, all NV delegates will go to Trump for the convention, according to the Reno Gazette. https://www.rgj.com/story/news/politics/2020/02/15/trump-rally-supporters-las-vegas-next-week/4772971002/

The timing for this westward campaign swing is extremely tight as his schedule is packed. AFTER the Phoenix Rally, the President flew back to Vegas. Thursday, Trump will speak at the Hope for Prisoners graduation around 11:30 a.m., then head to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for a 5 p.m. rally. White House confirmed that Trump would speak at a graduation ceremony at Metropolitan Police Department headquarters Thursday for Hope for Prisoners, a Las Vegas program that helps ex-inmates re-enter society, a signature issue for the president, per the Las Vegas Review Journal. https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/nevada/president-trump-to-hold-rally-in-las-vegas-next-week-1958412/

After the Colorado Springs Rally, The President flew back to Vegas for a rally at the Vegas Convention center at noon…… and then back to DC.

In the afternoon, VP Pence will rally in Reno, following the campaign strategy of deploying heavy hitter Trump officials to a state for key events. Barnstorming the state is a good use of assets and the officials, when they travel together, have begun to look like a travel team for a sports league. Whoever came up with the idea deserves a raise. VP Pence event is scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at the Atlantis Casino and Resort, 3800 Virginia St. in Reno. Per the Reno Gazette Journal.

Back in Vegas, the President’s rally is at high noon (3:00pm Eastern time), the day before the Nevada Caucus for the Dems. The rally will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in a room which only seats 2,500 people, according to The Hill: https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/483246-trump-to-hold-rally-in-nevada-day-before-states-caucuses

Currently, for the Dems, Bernie is in the lead, followed by Biden, then Warren (who lost her voice earlier this week).

Trump lost Nevada to Hillary in 2016 by about 2.5 points. Nevada would be an easy get. In Colorado, Trump lost to Hillary by about 136K votes, and Gary Johnson got 144K. These states are close and doable for 2020. Especially with an egomaniac candidate like a Bloomberg, or a crazy socialist like a Bernie. Did you KNOW the Culinary Union in Vegas specifically rejected Bernie’s Medicare for All proposal…….. they LIKE their healthcare.

  • With the Larry Ellison fundraiser in Rancho Mirage, CA.
  • The rally in Phoenix for McSally and AZ
  • The Graduation Ceremony for Prisoners in Vegas
  • The Rally in Colorado Springs with Gardner
  • Rally on Caucus Day in Vegas

The President’s western swing has been most profitable and noteworthy.

It’s Vegas, unlike any other place on earth.
