My mom always liked black licorice and totally unrelated, would eat green onions raw. I loved her so. Her tastes were far more adventurous than my own.
I used to Love Luden’s Black Licorice Throat Drops when feeling sick when I was a kid. Haven’t seen them in years so don’t know if they even still exist. I think there’s something in black licorice that’s good for health, maybe shared previously by Aubergine or Gail.
My mom has eaten raw green onions too, famously on a road trip through Northern Michigan when I was first pregnant. These were wild onions on the side of the road & she kept burping them & filling the car w/ that excessive onion smell. Not super enjoyable when pregnant but a fun memory of the tail end of my before kids life!
I Love cooked onions but have to pass on the raw ones, unless in salsa, for they mess with me too much 🙂

Pepe’s post was an especially important reminder to me like Bakocarl reminding us each Sunday to keep looking up. In my own life as a tech writer, it has been increasingly difficult to focus on one issue or another in the chaos. I have many ideas, but each is quickly overwritten by yet another. Perhaps I could create one more newsletter or substack and call it “The Daily Outrage” and yet these are things most of us see unless we have completely opted out of events of the day. I like to work, but when looking for new writing or editing jobs to apply for, I think it would not be good to dive into someone else’s delusion or catastrophe. Medical, AI, Banking, Finance, Military, Intel Community, etc. So many businesses have been messed up with the wokeness and leftist ideology. So I’ve paused for now and am on an unplanned sabbatical. LOL

I am happy you have taken on this little unpaid gig, Wolf. I have been writing more posts here and on Twitter. Making our voices heard seems critical now. I also joined one of those pop-up Spaces group chats on Twitter and think those could be helpful. In one, there were thousands of people listening. Spaces has a host, optionally co-hosts, speakers (these can be changed by hosts as the discussion goes on), and listeners. To become a speaker, one goes to the emojis and clicks the raised hand. If your window is wide, Spaces goes into a sidebar but if you make it narrower, you get four participant icons and you can look at everyone’s little pofile and follow them if you like. The only thing I wish it could do is scroll down through the whole list of attendees but I have not figured that out yet.

Then, they would be a host or co-host and let people in the greater Twit world learn about the info and ask questions of the authors. It might bring more people to our community here. I read Anna Komnene’s “The Alexiad” which serves as a historical record of her father Alexios’s reign as Emperor of Constantinople. She cast her father in such perfect light, sometimes tragic, often struggling, and more often victorious and all for people as he regained Constantinople’s past glory by setting the example, mostly in war as that was all that was afforded him, that sometimes I wonder if this is the image that Putin has chosen to emulate for himself. Russia has certainly kept the orthodox faith and has often also taken in Constantinople’s royal refugee’s in the long ago past also.
Kings and Emporer’s can often be tyrants, but on some occasions you get those that are considered to be Beneficent or die trying to be.
Extra note. When Anna was a little girl she thought she was going to be king and studied hard for the roll. Quite the amazing woman and considered to be the first to write a serious history.
The book by the way covers times leading up to and through the first Crusades capturing all the good men and bad of those days. When her father died, her brother had her locked away in a monastery with her mother I believe, fearing she was planning to usurp the throne.
Monarchs can be at both extremes. If benevolent they can get things done a lot faster and better than a president. If bad they become Demonic Tyrants.
That is why the Founding Fathers settle on the system we have as the best compromise.

The tiaras were left at home, and the formal dress of the family were all done on the orders of Chuckles himself. That is my understanding. The attention to detail was pretty impressive.
After wading through all the usual places I check (two days worth since I took Sunday off), I’m convinced there was quite a bit of message sending and signaling going on with the way they were all dressed. Even down to the music. The entrance hymn and music was the same piece as was used at William and Kate’s wedding. That’s odd. Usually, music is commissioned for great occasions like a coronation.

IMO, there is going to be a lot more of this type of thing happening as an adverse side effect of the mRNA-based COVID-19 “vaccines” — whether as a continuing issue for people who have the Pfizer-BioNTech BNT162b2 and/or the Moderna mRNA-1273, and/or as a new issue for people getting the “Bivalent COVID-19 vaccines” (since the “Bivalent vaccines” also have the “enhanced” [synthesized] spike protein + its mRNA added in from the “vaccines” above.)
It is still not known what the EXACT “ingredients” are of either the original Wuhan Hu1 virus code OR of the mRNA-based COVID-19 “vaccines.” For example, if coronaviruses from bats was used in the makeup of the original Wuhan Hu1virus code, which bats? What exactly from the DNA of the bats was used? In what amount? The same questions hold for any snake-venom-like elements in the original virus. The same questions hold for any other coronavirus and/or DNA from any other animal that was used in making up the original virus (rabbits, civets, etc.)
What IS known is that the spike protein + its mRNA of the COVID-19 “vaccines” migrates to the human brain (among many other places in the human body.) What IS known is that the central nervous system is negatively effected by these “vaccines.” What IS known is that the effects of the “vaccines'” mechanism on the human central nervous system are profound — including adverse effects on the frontal cortex / cerebrum (the “thinking areas” parts) and on the limbic system (the amygdala, hipppocampus, and associated areas — the “emotional-psychological-feelings-memory” parts.)
The female patient in the Alphonso, et al. paper cited by Dr. Makis had no prior history of psychological issues before taking the Moderna mRNA-1273 “vaccine.”
The male patient in the Reinfeld, et al. paper cited by Dr. Makis did have a prior history of psychological issues, although they were under control prior to the man taking the Moderna mRNA-1273 “vaccine.”
Recall that the Moderna mRNA-1273 COVID-19 “vaccine” has more than 3x the amount of spike protein + its mRNA (100mcg per adult dose) compared to that of the Pfizer-BioNTech BNT162b2 COVID-19 “vaccine” (30 mcg per dose for persons age 12 and older.) This does NOT mean that BNT162b2 is “safer.” It it not.

In regards to your final question, one has to look at the sequence of the variant virus vaccines, to see what parts of the sequence have been conserved, and which have not!

Dad has always gotten enough roses for each year on their anniversary, but lately has found it more economical to buy in bulk, it was 100 roses this year. So they stopped by dropping half their extra roses with me after leaving half w/ my brother’s wife earlier. While they were at my home with these flowers they also got to see our then massively pregnant daughter Clarissa who’d happened to stop by too. Turns out that was the day before my second granddaughter was born…& the flowers are Still looking lovely, amazingly. Thanks for the reminder of the beauty of Life AND Love!

Some have to do with photo not same. Age 33 or 35? Tattoo on neck or no tattoo on neck, photos have shown both. Saw one story that said he had both level II & III cert training but approval would still depend on getting the back ground check. That training if I remember is done concurrently while a back ground check is processed. So did he pass a security check or not? If not his guns are also illegal. No proof of the RWDS patch shown. Even if he had one, no idea that it means what is said to mean or means the same to the shooter. Scare badges are scare badges. Might as well be a lucky charms clover for all that that matters or something from a South/Central American official or unofficial military unit. ALLEN — A vigil was held Sunday evening at the Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen for the eight people who were killed in the mass shooting at Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Mauricio Garcia, a 33-year-old Dallas resident, allegedly exited a silver sedan outside the outlet mall and proceeded to fire a rifle at innocent bystanders, killing eight and sending several others to the hospital, some in critical condition.
Garica was wearing a tactical vest, armed with a rifle and additional weaponry and ammunition stored in his vehicle. He was killed by an Allen police officer who was already on the scene attending to an unrelated matter.
Outside the church, before the event even began, anti-gun protestors lined a corner holding signs, several wearing orange shirts. One man held a sign that read, “Well-regulated militia MURDERS 8 people in Allen fuq your ‘thoughts and prayers.’”
Another man held one reading, “WE HAVE AN EPIDEMIC OF GUN VIOLENCE.”
The gathering of hundreds was attended by Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and several other elected officials from Texas. They received applause from the crowd when their names were read off by a senior pastor.
Cottonwood Creek was a neighborhood church that since has grown into larger facilities. They had a conference recently my wife and son attended.
