Salvation . . . A Free Gift
The word gift is an important one in the Bible, and it is good that we understand its definition and implications.
In the New Testament, there are several Greek words translated “gift.” Some of these words are used in contexts other than God’s gift of salvation, such as the reciprocal gift-giving of celebrants (Revelation 11:10), the things received from fathers (Matthew 7:11), offerings to a ministry (Philippians 4:17), and the gifts of the magi (Matthew 2:11).
However, when it comes to the matter of our salvation, the New Testament writers use different Greek words—words that emphasize the gracious and absolutely free quality of the gift. Here are the two words most commonly used for the gift of salvation:
1) Dorea, meaning “a free gift.” This word lays particular stress on the gratuitous nature of the gift—it is something given above and beyond what is expected or deserved. Every New Testament occurrence of this word is related to a spiritual gift from God. It is what Jesus offers to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:10). It is the “unspeakable [or indescribable] gift” in 2 Corinthians 9:15. This gracious gift is identified as the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:38; 8:20; and 11:17.
The adverb form of this word is dorean, translated “freely” in Matthew 10:8; 2 Corinthians 11:7; Revelation 21:6; 22:17. In Romans 3:24, immediately following God’s pronouncement of our guilt, we have this use of dorean: “Being justified FREELY by His grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” The gift of salvation is free, and the motive for the gift is nothing more than the grace of the Giver.
2) Charisma, meaning “a gift of grace.” This word is used to define salvation in Romans 5:15-16. Also, in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT [charisma] of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This same word is used in conjunction with the gifts of the Spirit received after salvation (Romans 12:6; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6; 1 Peter 4:10).
Obviously, if something is a “gift of grace,” it cannot be earned. To work for something is to deserve it, and that would produce an obligation—a gift of debt, as it were. That is why works destroy grace (Romans 4:1-5; 11:5-6).
When presenting salvation, the New Testament writers carefully chose words that emphasize grace and freedom. As a result, the Bible could not be more clear—salvation is absolutely free, the true gift of God in Christ, and our only responsibility is to receive the gift by faith (John 1:12; 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Pardons deal with acts that have already happened. For acts that might happen in the future, the correct term is “immunity”.
In the entire history of pardons, there is no legal opinion by SCOTUS [or Parliament] that says a pardon can be valid for a future act. Also, for the people of this country, there is no opinion which holds that POTUS can issue immunity.

Alpha DID NOT GO TO the capitol on Jan 6th. So that is another reason they really wanted to nail him as a ‘MAGA EXTREMIST.’ He would make incredibly great news headlines for the Biden admin.
Luckily he got plenty of financial and emotional support from the Badlands community and was able to withstand the pressure put on him. But even so he put up with a lot of abuse from the Biden Admin. Here’s as good a place as any for this year’s Mother’s Day story from my world.
My youngest son, who is not religious (he believes in God, but is not Christian – yet
) asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day. Usually he gives me a plant, like a rose bush, to put in my garden.
This year I asked him to come to church with me on Mother’s Day. Oh, boy, did he whine and complain about that! I didn’t think he would come. He brought it up a couple of times, and told me all kinds of reasons he didn’t want to.
Then yesterday, he comes and says “Mom, I love and appreciate you for everything. And I will come to church with you tomorrow.”
Then he told me what changed. He was walking with a friend in a nearby larger town, and as they crossed a bridge, he was complaining to the friend about me wanting him to attend church on Mother’s Day, and he didn’t want to, and what a pain, and on and on. And this perfect stranger, another young man about my son’s age was passing them. He looked my son in the eye and said “you should go to church with your mother on Mother’s Day.”
And my son said “I know I should, but I don’t want to.” And the guy just looked seriously at him and then kept on walking.
So we are headed to church together this morning. God works in mysterious ways. And I am blessed by my children, indeed.
WOW!!! 
This is a win-win. Son takes one more (albeit reluctant) step to faith, and you continue teaching him that loving someone sometimes means doing something for the sole purpose of honoring that person’s wishes.

I lead each of my four kids through the salvation message when they were very young, usually pre-K. My husband shared in all four of their baptisms in the lake at church camp two consecutive summers. The first summer had our daughter, our youngest, & one of our twins, the one without special needs baptized. The next summer had our oldest son & the twin with special needs buried with Christ. They all made their own individual decisions in the time frame that they were comfortable with.
I recall leading my oldest son to the Lord, after we watched a Passion Play around Easter at a local church. Now that church has been taken over by Muslims & is a so-called “Islamic House of Wisdom”. Makes me sad that this is now territory under Enemy influence, but my oldest son is still following hard after Christ & is a godly husband & father so I’m so thankful that we were part of his unique spiritual journey.

COMMENTARY FOR 1 CORINTHIANS 10
“The great privileges, and yet terrible overthrow of the Israelites in the wilderness. (1-5) Cautions against all idolatrous, and other sinful practices. (6-14) The partaking in idolatry cannot exist with having communion with Christ. (15-22) All we do to be to the glory of God, and without offence to the consciences of others.” (23-33)
(23-33) “There were cases wherein Christians might eat what had been offered to idols, without sin. Such as when the flesh was sold in the market as common food, for the priest to whom it had been given. But a Christian must not merely consider what is lawful, but what is expedient, and to edify others. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

my mother went into the hospital yesterday afternoon. She has an infection in her legs and was somewhat incoherent. When asked when was the last time she ate, she insisted she just ate a hoagie my husband brought her. (we stayed the weekend before that.)
her BP was normal, EKG was normal, blood sugar normal and so far they have not found any blood clots. She is dehydrated for sure, but they need to do more tests today so she’s getting fluids intravenously. She is slightly slurring some words. The last I spoke with her before this was Wednesday morning and she was fine.

AND lack of exercise means you do not get thirsty. IIRC, thirst can be triggered 24 hours after you are actually dehydrated.
I run into this all the time. I get dehydrated and do not feel thirsty at all. I just notice that I stopped going to the bathroom ALL DAY.
I then have to MAKE myself drink several glasses of water in the evening.
Also, in older people REMEMBER SALT CAN MAKE YOUR FEET SWELL especially if you do not walk much.
I hope they check her sodium, potassium and chlorine levels.
We have that problem with my mom because she’s in a wheelchair. It’s a big issue for her to get into the bathroom and transfer herself to the toilet. She’s in assisted living, but hates to call for anyone to help her.
I understand how your mom feels about asking for help. Perhaps someone should invent wheelchairs that have a good way to slide a person out of the chair and onto the potty and then bring them back onto the chair. I wonder if it should also have a bidet feature to help with the wipey part?

I read somewhere that pumpkin seed capsules really help with that. I tried some and they do help. It cut down 2 or 3 trips to 1 or none.
My problem is due to my adrenal glands. I lose potassium and retain sodium. The trips are a classic symptom of the problem.
However I will give the pumpkin seeds a try. I do like them.

I’m a bit confused as to the haps — what was the precipitating factor that caused the hospital visit?
When I was young, my parents moved about once a year — so I never really got into “a grind” [I also never became mentally stable, but that’s another story.] By contrast, I’ve been in this house for ~25 years….and my fall-back position is to eat the same food, and I go to the same places and do the same things…..and I often find myself going, “did I have beef or chicken last night? Did I shower yesterday, or was it the day before? Have I been to the bookstore lately?”
You could tell me I had Thanksgiving leftovers last Tuesday and I’d probably say, “uh-huh” and believe I did because it all blurs together.
her ankles and feet were red and swollen. This has happened once before and they put her on a mild water pill. (She walks with a walker but still manages to do quite a bit.) My cousin lives next door to Mom and she knocked on her door for 20 minutes and Mom didn’t answer. She has a key, but the screen door was locked so my brother came and broke the screen door to get in. Mom was coming out of the bathroom and was incoherent and could barely walk. If she got confused and couldn’t walk, i believe she wasn’t eating or taking her meds for a day or two.
it’s a very sudden change from the weekend prior when we stayed with her for a few days. She was talking normal, eating well and we even payed cards–and she was very sharp. a lot of sudden changes is alarming.

we also bought her a life alert subscription and she wears an alarm around her neck. She has used it before and accidentally pressed the alert when we were there. someone responds within seconds and loudly.
Yeah, they need to check a bunch of things. TIA comes to mind, but also stealthy dehydration, missing a particular med, etc.
She is entering that phase where somebody has to make sure she eats, drinks, and takes her meds every time, every day. That’s the only way to stay out of managed care.
With such restrictions, it’s more like “self-managed” care, “friends or family-managed” care, “hired help-managed” care, or “institutional-managed” care.
Or, of course, there’s Canada.
Yup. It’s the reality. I have watched this play out too many times.
And at some point, if the needs are not met 24/7, a fall intervenes, and forces things into institutionally managed care.
we’ve been gently trying for a few years to have her accept someone to come in and make sure she’s eating, and taking her meds because she has outright stated she’s not leaving her home to go into an assisted living place.
She is 86 and her memory has it’s good and bad days (like everyone’s) but this change is sudden, and she takes good care of her house–it’s what keeps her active.
I think you have negotiating power now. Somebody goes in as often as you two deem necessary, or she goes somewhere.
Bad memory days (just one) can kill her now, because she enters a downward spiral on her meds.
agreed. we haven’t argued with her about this because she normally does have a strong support system. My aunt, uncle and cousin live right next door and she has a friend a few houses down that normally drives her to appointments and checks in on her. (That friend however is on a 2 month vacation visiting her relatives.)
and my brother lives less than 5 minutes away.
and she has a life alert system in her home.
but things have changed.
She either needs live-in help or checks multiple times a day.
Hubby is now 82 and I worry about leaving him home alone when we go off doing pony rides. Luckily we have absolutely great neighbors who keep an eye on us.
Oh, I’ve seen this exact situation before. Many close people, but nobody else actually in the home. One break in the support system, often the most tenuous one, and the system weakness is exposed. You are already very lucky that the exposure of the weakness didn’t result in a broken hip or similar. The most common outcome, IMO.
I don’t know if a family pow-wow or y’all just taking the lead would work best, but there has to be a coherent plan that covers all meal, all meds, her furniture (no falls), and all that jazz. And, unfortunately, too many family members can be problematic, because the temptation to spread the load can lead to unrealistic thinking, because it only takes one person going weak on support for her to miss a meal or a dose.

Is the red, swollen ankles due to sepsis? My older brother has bad problems with that and they put some kind of creme on them and wrap his legs so the water goes back up to his heart. It also helps if he takes a shower each day.
I honestly don’t know. she has had this once before. she was given cream and had her legs wrapped and came home. she needed to elevate her legs several times a day and the condition “fixed” itself. in her current condition she wasn’t able to work her recliner to raise her legs or put the pillow under them.
I know this will sound nutty but I had foot swelling when my knee was broken. Internet advice was to use your fingers to gently draw the fluids up the leg beginning at the ankle. sort of like a moving massage up the leg.
Trying to imagine either of my parents doing that at that age…probably couldn’t or wouldn’t but your mom seems feisty when she’s at her best so maybe when she gets to feeling better?

My mother had leg problems all my life and her life. Seems to be thrombosis.
My brother’s condition did require antibiotics and it became chronic. His son helps him more now and it has been getting better.
Massaging once legs and doing apple cider wraps and put legs up. My mother had bad legs so I have seen it all my life. Some teas like fennel helps and some juices. One needs to do a little research.
Also massage behind the knee where glands are. One can find how to massage on the Internet. I massage my bad knee every day also behind the knee.
Since I am juicing again with beet juice my swelling in my bad knee is gone. Self care is important.

DW drinks cranberry juice anytime she suspects UTI issue inbound.
Prolly more than a decade since that issue revisited DW.
So she is basically able to stop them in their tracks with cranberry juice. That’s impressive!

I also think if I had gone the conventional medicine route. they were aiming me towards, Albuterol + Prednisone and Statins + BP medicine, I would be on oxygen in a year or 2 instead of recovering my lung function and dead in five.
BOTH of my neighbors across the street (VAXED) one my age and one around 50 went that route (Albuterol) and are now on oxygen. Paul, is not doing well at all but so far they have not succeed in killing him. (former marine & farmer)

My chest X-rays showed inflammation and yet they gave me an Albuterol prescription!!
Albuterol is good for me, or so it seems. Opens me right up.
Prednisone knocks out my congestion/inflammation.
Spiriva and Symbicort daily for copd, which is basically just emphysema.
For me after it wore off my O2 levels dropped into the 80s. (83 if IRC) almost 10% lower than I was seeing (91% – 93%)
So I switched to OTC Primatene mist (epinephrine) and Serrapeptase.
After a week or so I could cut back and then stop the Primatene and now my O2 is 95% with a pulse of 61.
I also added NAC and high levels (60 mg) of Melatonin.

My nephew had a brain tumor and besides chemo and radiation, he took prednisone. It made him pee a WHOLE lot and was embarrassing to him. He got better from the brain tumor, got married, had a beautiful daughter and he almost made it to 50 years old. I think the vaccines caused depression and he committed suicide. We miss him dearly.
That’s a heck of a victory over cancer! But that vax – horror-show!
Yes, Sean was blessed to have a full life after the brain tumor in his senior year in high school. I remember the other kids in his class did not want to graduate without him and he did. I’m so glad for everyone who helped him. His grandpas each took turns driving him down to St Louis to get his chemo and radiation treatments. I drove him once when I was home and saw the radiation equipment they used. I had written one of the instruction manuals for that product and it was a little overwhelming to know it was helping someone in my own family.

When I was in college, I had a tear in my bum that left a lot of blood in the stool. My dad came and got me, brought me home and to the hospital. They did procto tests back then without anesthesia. yikes!!! The urologist told me that he did not care what I drank but always drink something like all the time. I’ve done that and never had another issue or infection.
This morning, a doc on a show called biohack your health was saying to stop drinking cafene early and even water early. I don’t mind getting up once in the night because I can go back to sleep easily. I am not sure I like withholding liquids for 12 hours out of 24 just so I can sleep longer.

I drink a glass of water before going to bed. I read it is good for hydration. I get up once in the night do not mind.
I have cut back on drinking diet coke and my nephew gave me his favorite water flavoring that’s watermelon/strawberry. I have been drinking a lot more flavored water. We’ll see if the color of it changes…

Yes, UTIs are a real hidden culprit for elderly – they can quickly cause mental confusion, passing out, or falls that get misdiagnosed as the start of dementia.
Both dandelion and uva ursi herbal teas are excellent for a daily drink to help prevent UTIs. Drink hot or cold.
I’m less thirsty in winter, and sometimes use an hourly timer to remind me to ‘take a few sips’. Also sipping a full glass of water in the first hour I rise each morning sets the day off to a hydrated start.
I do understand elderly hate getting up to pee with sore feet, etc. Aging ain’t for the faint of heart
I suppose you’re right about staying out of ass’td living beyond 86 being an accomplishment … both my parents lived fully independently until they died at 95 & 94. Hubs and I take it on Faith we can do same
A friend died within a week of a UTI that went septic. She was younger than I am now.
So they are vert dangerous in older women.
UTI is very frequently the “cause of death” in the elderly.

When we went to Saint Petersburg, Russia, and drove from the airport to the city, there were plants in the fields beside the highway that I did not recognize. I asked about them, and it turns out they were dandelions — but lush, covered with flowers, and in hemispheres about three feet across.

I have a garden bed 2 by 4 feet where I grow dandelion. They are nice and big. I grow them as I would spinach or in my smoothy.
I think they are pretty and know they are good for us. I can’t remember why but do remember dandelion wine in a story somewhere.

Really important to prevent UTIs in elderly because a treatment is antibiotics, which then becomes a viscious cycle of losing the ‘good germs’ and eventually UTI is chronic.

A relative (male) who kept getting chronic UTIs was told to take D-mannose, and it helped. I have since recommended it to another person, and they also said it helped. It is over-the-counter.

I drink lemon juice and olive oil to a glass of water. I am just try to eat healthy keep sugar and sugar substitutes away from me. Not to much bread .
Cranberry supplements work wonders for prevention! Even after you get the UTI, they are helpful. I take a really strong one (30,000 mg) once a week for prevention. If I feel a little like one might be coming on, I take one every day. About 3-4 days later, I feel fine.

I’m somewhat prone to UTIs w/ type II diabetes & usually find if I OD on cranberry juice (& sometimes using additional cranberry supplements) I can almost always kill it within 2 days. I try to get low sugar cranberry juice & Not cocktail for the best results.

d-mannose “works” really well, however, it isn’t getting rid of bacteria exactly IIRC, it’s promoting a shift to pleomorphic forms.
Weirdly I’ve had some trouble with recurring UTIs. My conclusion has been that the 1st go round the wrong antibiotic was prescribed but also I think that my water intake wasn’t enough to offset the field hand work that I have to do around here since bf’s stroke a couple of years ago.
Now I take cranberry with probiotic and drink kefir and a lot more water. They did a ct scan on kidney/abdomen..all okay . I have one last test this week to look into bladder, hoping for good outcome there too.

I’m curious which antibiotic didn’t work for you, and which did. I’m pretty sure that years ago, I had to take some beta lactam for one, but I don’t recall much more than that.
I can’t recall and it was prescribed by a tele doc because I was at my daughter’s house. That meant no urine culture. I got better but not too long after I got home..got another one. Now here’s where it goes off the rails. A urine sample taken at my Dr’s office was either never looked at or something so I got a raging one. FINALLY a serious PA looked at and prescribed something that worked. They referred me to a urologist so that’s why I’ve had these other tests.

My son had a UTI as an infant post-heart surgery. I don’t recall the name of the antibiotic but they tested it (& ineffective other antibiotics) against a bacterial growth sample from him before they found what worked. It was a bright fluorescent green liquid in early 1996.

It is possible that chronic or sudden, extreme stress can actually bring on a UTI, because of the effects that these have on the body’s immune system (basically, chronic or sudden, extreme stress can depress the natural immune system.)
Some people are more “somatically reactive” in their responses to chronic or sudden, extreme stress, as compared to other people. In other words, they get physical symptoms in response, sometimes with emotional responses added in. These physical manifestations can range, for examples, from migraines, to muscle aches all over the body, to nausea, to, yes, UTIs.
Yours Truly knows about this phenomenon because she has some “somatic reactions” to chronic or sudden, extreme stress. Had some of this after my brother died last Halloween.
Appreciate the added possible reasons. I’m usually a pragmatic type person but who knows what my subconscious is up to!

Wolf, I think it may be because of bacteria formation.
I was told many years ago not to wear panty hose, because they wouldn’t breathe properly, which causes UTI’s. I was told to wear cotton undies only.
Sitting for hours, no matter the undergarments, causes bacteria formation. Up the urethra they go, and bang! There’s the UTI.
That’s my best guess. It happens to my daughter, too, when she travels and sits for a long time.
Cotton undies only is what DW was told.

I think you can also use baking soda dissolved in water to help kick a UTI.

I’m sure of that. But I am a super-hydrator. I am constantly drinking. It just doesn’t always keep me from getting a UTI.
What percentage of the time do you feel that you are able to stop an oncoming UTI using cranberry, etc.? I’m getting the impression that this works quite well, if not all the time for some people.
I haven’t taken an antibiotic for a UTI in more than a decade. I rely entirely on the cranberry supplement when I feel one coming on. I also will increase my water intake a bit if I feel one coming, but not by much. I drink so much already that it would be overkill.
I also take the cranberry once a week, just for general purposes. Prevention being the goal for everything for me.

That said, if the cranberry didn’t work for me in 3-4 days, I would of course see a doc, or take some antibiotics on my own. We do have the meds for a reason. I just don’t take them if I don’t absolutely have to. But I’m not stubborn about it.

An IV antibiotic, INVANZ, that my late husband was put on in the hospital where he admitted DUE TO A UTI, crossed his blood-brain barrier which resulted in a type of “medically-induced dementia” — from which he never fully recovered.

My husband had a situation 3 weeks ago I believe because of hydration. He had worked in his office for 12hours did not drink did not eat much. In the night dog wanted to go out ( I never take dog out but dog knows hubby is a softy).
He stood on the top of the steps felt dizzy wanted to sit down then lost consciousness and fell all the way down the steps. Had a cash on his head came to bed did not wanted to go to the hospital. I threw out two pillows full of blood.
Thank God he did not break anything. He now is not allowed to take dog out at night and dog is just fine I put my foot down with dog and hubby. Hubby was black and blue and finally has gone. I am now a nag reminding him to drink, eat and take proper rests and 10 PM bedtime no more half the night up. My German kicked in sometimes it is necessary.
Your mom needs someone who calls her every day to make sure she takes care of herself. I wish her speedy recovery

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant. He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something. Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back. My grandson burst out laughing. Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!
A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed.
So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection. I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared. So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!!

There are programs out there, sponsored by drug companies, that will pay for part or all of a patient’s prescription drug. Your doctor has information on these programs. You have to fill out a bunch of forms to submit to the company.
I went through a company called “Patient Access Network” some years ago to get AstraZeneca to pay the charges for my late husband’s oral chemo that his Medicare wouldn’t pick up.

I’m not sure what the medical types will say, but I can tell you that hibiscus tea worked as a potent blood thinner for me. I actually drank too much of it last September and ended up with a bunch of big bruises like people on blood thinners get. Had to back off.
This makes sense. People have been advised not to use hibiscus prior to surgery – usually that is functionally due to changes in clotting time.
