Who Do You Follow?
A denomination is a church organization that unites congregations of similar beliefs and practices. Examples of denominations include the Presbyterian Church in America; the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod; and the American Baptist Church. Denominationalism, then, is a devotion to one’s own denomination (“I’m a Methodist and proud of it”) or, more negatively, an emphasis on denominational differences to the point of being narrowly exclusive (“If you’re not a Methodist, then you’re wrong”). The negative type of denominationalism could be called sectarianism, and it is overly divisive.
Denominations vary in their creeds, practices, and traditions. Denominationalism clings to the particular creed, practice, and tradition of one denomination and rejects all other groups as unworthy of association. While there is nothing wrong with having denominations, per se, we should strive for peace within the church. Paul writes, “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. . . . What I mean is this: One of you says, ‘I follow Paul’; another, ‘I follow Apollos’; another, ‘I follow Cephas’; still another, ‘I follow Christ.’ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Corinthians 1:10–13). The Christians at Corinth were dividing themselves into groups based on the personality and practices of their favorite teachers. Paul rebukes this early denominationalism as wholly unnecessary and damaging to the unity of Christ. Christians are to follow Christ, and the church is to be of the same mind and of the same judgment because we follow a God who is One and who does not change (Deuteronomy 6:4; James 1:17).
On at least one occasion, Jesus had to deal with a sectarian attitude among His disciples. John came to Jesus one day and said, “Teacher . . . we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us” (Mark 9:38). This was before the church began, so John’s attitude cannot be properly called denominationalism, but it was a prototype. Jesus rebukes John: “Do not stop him. . . . For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward” (Mark 9:39–41).
Applying this incident to the church age, we can say that, first, denominationalism is wrong because the Lord can use others who are not involved in our denomination. Further, denominationalism is wrong because the Lord may have works in progress that we know nothing about, and He doesn’t need our approval to use someone not associated with our organization. Denominationalism is countered by Jesus’ words “whoever is not against us is for us.”
We cannot assume that other Christians are not “really” serving the Lord simply because they don’t belong to our denomination or run in our circles. Service in Christ’s name will be rewarded. We should allow the Giver of all good gifts to hand out the rewards as He sees fit. Paul acknowledges that not everyone who preaches the gospel is someone he would approve of: “It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, . . . out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice” (Philippians 1:15–18). What matters is not whether or not everyone agrees. What matters is that the gospel is being proclaimed.
While we are to strive toward unity in the Spirit, there are biblical reasons for the people of God separating themselves from other groups and maintaining doctrinal distinctives. Paul warns that there is strong judgment for those who distort the gospel (Galatians 1:6–9; cf. 2 Peter 2). The truth matters, and the gospel is of supreme importance. The gospel must not be watered down or altered. We must “contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people (Jude 1:3). Believers must separate from those who deny the truth about Jesus and pervert the gospel: “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them” (2 John 1:10).
Denominations spring up for various reasons: mode of baptism, frequency of communion, use of musical instruments, etc. Even cultural and ethnic differences can give rise to different denominations. Despite the abundance of denominations today, we must remember that that gospel is paramount. When there is agreement on the Person and Work of Christ in salvation, then lesser differences take a back seat and denominationalism is stymied. Christians in one denomination should try to respect those in other denominations and focus on spreading the gospel to a needy world.
Evangelist D. L. Moody steered clear of denominationalism. During his evangelistic crusades, Moody enlisted cooperation from all local churches and evangelical church leaders, regardless of their denominational affiliations. Moody cared nothing for what denomination a person claimed; he just wanted the message of Christ to be heard. The result was that over 100 million people heard the gospel plainly preached in his lifetime.
Born-again believers in Jesus Christ should “stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27). We can avoid denominationalism by allowing God’s Spirit to work in us, for peace is a fruit of the Spirit of Christ (Galatians 5:22). “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace” (Colossians 3:15).

I read somewhere that flight attendants really despise diet coke, it fizzes forever, and slows them down. (And they don’t have access to a sink for this trick, not while dealing with the cart they don’t.)
Easy fix. You keep one cup half filled with water on your serving cart. When you go to serve someone and they order a soda, you get a new cup and put ice in it like normal.
Then you take the cup with water in it, and pour it into the new cup with ice.
Then you put a strainer over the cup of ice water, and pour the water back into the original water cup. Remove strainer.
Now you have washed ice in the new cup.
Pour soda in the cup with the washed ice. No fizz.
Move on to the next person, and repeat.

If it worked in the video, there is no reason to think it couldn’t be replicated, unless variables have changed.
Could have to do with hard water vs. soft water, could be some difference with the carbonated flavored water, could even be characteristics of the ice itself or variance in water temperature, etc.
Seems like the best solution is to pour the drink first into an empty glass, and then add ice, either with a scoop (in the case of small pebble-sized ice cubes) or with tongs for old fashioned freezer ice-tray sized ice.
That will require the exercise of judgment, regarding how much ice to add, so the pre-filled glass doesn’t overflow. So a little trial and error will be necessary, before a steward or stewardess can consistently ‘eyeball it’ confidently.
I’d like to be optimistic, but if this was a problem the stewardesses could actually solve, seems like it would have been solved already, a long time ago.

It’s very likely a buffering effect, because sodas are often strongly buffered at acidic pH with phosphoric acid, and I suspect that the low-calorie flavored carbonated waters are not. We can all have fun at Elon’s expense, I suppose, and don’t get me wrong. I’ve enjoyed the laughs today. However, IMO, I think many are missing the main point.
Trump was going to win. The elites knew it. J13 SEALED THE DEAL. Sure, there was drama, and a lot of time, effort, and money was spent on all sides, but from J13th until the election, the election was Trump’s to lose.
It was also clear, barring voter fraud that the gop was going to win the senate, and most thought they would keep the house. Add in the fact that the scotus leaned to the right and many people who have spent their lifetimes warping America into their version of a socialism utopia became very afraid.
Many thought they could use the same playbook they used in Trump 1.0.
The dems thought they could resurrect the resistance, but it was dead and gone. It’s dead, Jim. So the dems plan of just waiting him out was a failure as his approval numbers remained high.
Others like the never trumpers and anti trumpers sought to ingrain themselves into his confidence and gently nudge him into the “proper polices” or create new and improved flashy polices to take his eye off the ball like they did with Pompeo during Trump 1.0.
Others sought to kill him.
Still, others sought to work behind the scenes to stop him from having success like Susan Rice and Samantha Powers by using people like Zelensky and countries like Iran and the EU.
Others thought to use Congress as a check against him like Paul Ryan and mitch did in Trump 1.0.
A couple of things happened to blunt and/or defeat all of these efforts.
First, Trump won a landslide, making it very hard for Congress to be used against him.
The landslide also killed THE RESISTANCE. Buried it under rock and mud, and the dems have been unable to resurrect it. So, the public opposition was neutered.
The assassination attempts failed in ways that exposed those who did it, even if we dont know, I’m 100% sure Trump knows.
Trump unleashed a blitzkrieg that stunned and shocked what little opposition was left and made that opposition lose a march on him as well as funding.
The policies he pushed were popular, which shocked many, especially those that ingrained themselves inside the wire, leaving them with few options.
The lying legacy media lost all credibility after protecting Biden the dotard and kamala the drunk.
Their lawfare that they turned to in desperation is proving to be no more than a bump in the road.
Finally, Trump incorporated the flashy policies within the blitzkrieg, and instead of misdirecting him, they trapped those that employed them say for example, DOGE.
He neutered the economic crisis they engineered with great use of tariff threats and actual tariffs, increasing supply, dropping inflation, etc. The same for the debt crisis they hoped would leave him unable to fund his blitzkrieg.
In other words, for the last 5 months, every effort and attempt to stop/stall Trump has failed, and the blitzkrieg is getting stronger.
Now they are at the stage of the break glass in case of emergency and their long-time controlled opposition like Massie, Paul, and the freedom clowns have been exposed and were unable to stop and hardly able to blunt the MAGA agenda in the OBBB.
So it’s on to plan E, or is it F? and that seems to be a third party, and the kitchen sink in hopes of quickly stopping the changes with a win in the midterms and rewinding them with a win in 2028.
They are literally and figuratively at the end of their rope, and nothing they have tried has worked.
I dont see this last ditch effort being successful either.
As always, think as you will, and your milage may vary, but I like our chances. Of course, there’s always the unknown, maybe covid 2.0 or WW3?
But the blitzkrieg unleashes tariffs next week and probably 5 other things . Are his enemies ready for the coming offensive?

I remain highly skeptical of what Musk is doing – yet at the same time, I won’t pre-judge it. It may actually be necessary in some ways I don’t yet fully understand. I suspect that it may be a way to stake things in the ground so that MAGA cannot fall to GOP backsliding or WEF machinations in 2028 and beyond.

As I recall, he thinks they were afraid, because if they did it, it would change how the Senate works forever, in the same way Harry Reid did for a short term gain when he ended the filibuster.
Ending the filibuster, to help Obama, is also what made it possible to get conservative (and pro 2nd Amendment) judges onto the bench, who would never have been confirmed (due to the filibuster) previously.
So it’s the law of unintended consequences (applied to R-Cons, if they yanked and replaced the parliamentarian) they supposedly fear.

When Harry Reid (D) broke precedent by ending the filibuster, to satisfy Hussein’s short term political objectives, the end result has been a disaster for the Left.
Because while the filibuster remained, the Left could filibuster conservative judicial appointments, and keep gun-control forever.
But Reid did the expedient short-sighted thing, and ended the filibuster so Hussein’s agenda could be rammed through. And it did great damage to our nation.
But the unintended consequence is that, since the filibuster was gone, the Right, eventually, was able to ram through conservative judges which would never have been confirmed if the filibuster was still in place.
So in the short run, Reid’s action did incalculable harm to the nation by ramming Hussein’s communist agenda through Congress.
In the long run, Conservatives were able to win some important court cases, thanks to being able to confirm conservatives to the court who would otherwise have been prevented from being confirmed by the filibuster.

3-9 We are to consider the heavens, that man thus may be directed to set his affections on things above. What is man, so mean a creature, that he should be thus honoured! so sinful a creature, that he should be thus favoured! Man has sovereign dominion over the inferior creatures, under God, and is appointed their lord. This refers to Christ. In #Heb 2:6-8|, the apostle, to prove the sovereign dominion of Christ, shows he is that Man, that Son of man, here spoken of, whom God has made to have dominion over the works of his hands. Money is power to control others. Most people don’t think of it that way, because to most regular people, money is a means to attain things.
Necessities first, then wants, and then luxuries.
But fantastic wealth provides the power to gratify any desire, because there will always be desperate people, and some subset of desperate people will do anything for money.
I’m sure all of this has been mapped by psychologists long ago.
It’s probably a linear progression.
Once a fantastically wealthy person buys all the toys they ever wanted, they have to up the ante to get the same thrill.
If they have every ‘thing’ they could ever want, then next comes buying things that aren’t normally for sale, at least not in store, i.e., People.
Since every person has their price, it’s a thrilling game for people who have unlimited wealth to play, to discover at what price will another person compromise him or herself.
But even this eventually gets boring, and you lose all respect for humanity in the process, because you have reduced all of humanity to whores in your own mind.
So like any drug, it takes more and more of it to get the thrill back.
Once you have everything you could ever want, and you have learned how to make people dance (or whatever else you want to see them do) for dollars, and that has become boring too, what can you do next?
If you can control People, then you can control governments, and if (in your own mind) you have reduced humanity to whores who dance for your pleasure, then you have no reason to care if your ambitions for world domination cause genocide.
They’re just pieces on a board game. They’re just ants.
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Billionaires have, effectively, absolute power. They can basically do anything they want, and no one — besides someone with many more billions — can stop them.
So they end up with a power over the lives of entire populations that is greater than most nation states, without any of the accountability that government leadership is (theoretically) bound by.

I asked A.I. how many billionaires have ever gone to prison.

Is that because they’re all good, stand up, law abiding citizens?
Or is it because they can buy their way out of practically any crime?

All of this is why billionaires are incredibly dangerous to mankind. They are unelected, unaccountable people with more power than many nation states.

I think you and para are right to be suspicious here – let me explain why.
We deal with flooding where I live, and I grew up living in a flood plain, so I know a thing or two about floods and flooding.
Just this year we have experienced the extremes of this sort of thing. One intense storm that created almost ZERO water in dry creekbeds, because the ground was very dry and soaked up an enormous amount of water. A second, where only a moderate rain created lots of moving water, because the ground was soaked during two prior days.
Flooding has to do with a variety of things, and the RATES of those things are extremely important. This haughty Doricko dude is bluffing on the July 2nd seeding, because he has to know why his seeding may very well be responsible for the unusual flooding. Any scientist who truly understands local flooding would know that the greatest danger isn’t seeding to create the event – and it’s not seeding a week or two prior to the event – it’s seeding 1-3 days before the event. Which is exactly what he did.
The “wall of water” seen in the channel is key to solving this. What it tells us is that the water was completely unable to soak into the ground. The ground was already saturated. The water table was already close to the surface.
I’m not saying that cloud seeding is necessarily a bad thing – but it’s clear to me that we are beginners at weather engineering, and we are fucking up like beginners tend to fuck up.
This may in fact be our first significant cloud seeding accident. Yes, nature can do such things alone, but we can contribute.
I don’t think a jury can prove that the seeding caused this, beyond a reasonable doubt, because science on such a new thing is full of reasonable doubts. BUT I’d say there’s a good chance that “seeding always has consequences” – and some of them are likely to be unintended, or even unexpected. I would say that there has to be a significant likelihood that seeding somehow created an overlocalization of moisture in space and time.
That sounds very reasonable. We are dealing with a very wet summer so far. Since we have clay, we have major problems with too much rain like trees coming down.
Different types of soil can cause very different problems when combined with rain.
If that’s the case, seeding saturated the ground, then it naturally rained 2 days later…why the heck were they seeding? Rain would have been in the forecast.
See – this is the problem. If you change the weather, it will very likely change the forecast. And forecasts involving rain can sometimes be very sketchy and unreliable – particularly when the chances are low to middling.
IMO the tech works better than they understand it, but less reliably than they need.
Why indeed. Texas is not in a state of draught. Fill up the underground aquifers further? Maybe that. Mean time we should not dismiss the timing of this event like we do with all the other events. Timing is everything they say. Was this a cheap and preemptive shot at Trump for wanting to dismiss NOAA and FEMA people so they hit this flood prone valley in the middle of their busiest season?
You can see what LBJ said in one of those posted tweets. “He who controls the weather, controls everything”.
We have just come to the understanding that they do cloud seeding and have been for some time. They are the ones that understand the science behind it and much of the science is still behind the veil. It well could be the seeding the clouds in this area and under the current conditions of the weather system moving in may actual induce more rain to the area while at the same time events far from the target area forbid the weather system from escaping it’s area and lets the weather system go into over charge.
It’s likely Rainmaker is just part of the puzzle and we can’t see the other parts.

These are the bulk players of conspiracies.
Group A
Even higher above them, are people who deeply understand the problems and flaws of the new technology, and who see opportunities for other purposes. Depopper embeds. I know such people exist, because I could have been one of them. For example, I see the great possibilities that the vaccine paradigm offers for human modification, for directed evolution, for eugenics, for selective “removal” of “problem people”, etc. These are the people like Fauci and Bill Kristol – who when exposed seem almost unlike what they pretended to be all along. These people are active deceivers.
Group C
Below group B are people who fully believe the narratives and are easily manipulated. They are the bulk of the inertia of conspiracies. They are sworn to the institutions. The more they learn of problems, the more they “grow” into becoming members of Group B – but they are also problematic, in that they might become whistleblowers, truth-tellers, or other defectors from the conspiracy. They have to be watched.
I would say that all of these groups are “simple-minded” in different ways.
C – is simple-minded by virtue of easy belief of their superiors.
B – is simple-minded in thinking that they can ignore consequences.

I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely “off the rails,” essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them. The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds! Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running “machine,” that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country. It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time. I have been strongly opposed to that from the very beginning. People are now allowed to buy whatever they want – Gasoline Powered, Hybrids (which are doing very well), or New Technologies as they come about – No more EV Mandate. I have campaigned on this for two years and, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate – It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that – I was very surprised! Additionally, Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA and, while I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blooded Democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before. Elon probably was, also. I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elon’s corporate life. My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!
