In Western nations, America especially, we can see the Bible’s influence on many aspects of society. Everything from our laws to our work ethic to our view of marriage has been molded by a Judeo-Christian worldview. It has always been the case that the Word of God makes a difference in cultures where it is introduced. In first-century Thessalonica, a mob dragged some Christians through the streets shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also” (Acts 17:6, ESV). It is only right that the Bible should have an influence on society, as it has an influence on the individuals within society.
God is the Creator of the world and the humans who inhabit it (Genesis 1). From the very beginning, God designed the world and people to “function” a certain way. When society doesn’t follow the principles that God gives us in the Bible, life simply doesn’t work as well. God’s the only One with the insight into how life functions to our best benefit, and He shares that wisdom with us in His Word. The Bible is described in Hebrews 4:12 as “alive and active.” This means, in part, that the Bible is as applicable and relevant today as it was when it was first written.
Looking back at the early stages of America, it is impossible not to see the influence the Bible had. Our government structure, laws, morality, education, and family values were all founded on principles that came directly from the Bible. The Founding Fathers, Presidents, and foreigners visiting a young America identified the key to the nation’s success as the biblical influence embraced by its society. When a nation honors God, it develops a respect for all of God’s creation. Where there is no honor of God, a society will fail to respect His creation, and people will suffer as a result.
From the beginning, people have had a choice whether to follow God’s way. But choices always carry consequences. The Old Testament history of Israel documents the societal laws and precepts God gave them. When Israel lived by God’s laws, their society functioned well, but when they deviated from God’s design, their society always went downhill. Attempts today to remove the Bible’s influence from society or to marginalize a biblical worldview reveal the pride of mankind that says, “We know better than the One who created us.”
None of this is to say that we should establish a theocracy such as ancient Israel had. God’s purposes in that system of government were for a certain time and place. However, when the Bible is properly understood, its influence on society can only lead to less crime, less divorce, less sloth, and more charity. As John Adams, the second President of the United States, wrote, “Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God . . . What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be” (Diary and Autobiography of John Adams, Vol. III, p. 9). Scripture says it best: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12).

Contrast that list with the characteristics that come to mind if, for example, the European Union was to rule . . . or Muslims . . . or Marxists . . . or Democrats.

This pianist then went on to teach in Washington, DC for decades. Got married, had children. Became well-established as a performer and a teacher. Performed all over the world.
99.99999% certainty that he took the “primary series” of COVID shots early in 2021. Had a stroke. Paralyzed on one side. Taught himself how to play the piano again using BOTH hands. Made a “comeback recital” and tour.

My friend’s ‘Doctor’ who just has a RN masters degree is a FNP-C Nurse Practitioner.
My son is internal medicine doc he told me : that he is the last generation of his kind of doctor. He told me ” that everyone is specializing. Yes we will have a shortage of general practitioner.

I remember when doctors actually made house calls! Now you can not even get the blasted Nurse Practitioner on the phone!

My son’s wife is a geriatric doc and used to do house-calls but the University hospital eliminated the program two years ago after 17 years. She loved the job she was the director of the program.
Doctors are deep in dept when they graduate from medical school. They do not make real money until finished with internship depending on training and specialty for many years. Maybe if government pays for their education and training then they can set a fee otherwise no. By the way government regulate medicine stinks. US still has the best medical care in the world.
Yes, our medical care is wonderful. But unaffordable. Many things need to change. Their education shouldn’t cost so much, they shouldn’t be able to be sued for a gazillion dollars so they have to pay a fortune for malpractice insurance. It is a bad system.
Where my son was able to make lots of money was his wife is a doc also and they lived on one paycheck and save one. The other is they had double student loans. They live frugal and drove their cars 10-12 years and still lived in their first house until the moved to Florida.

This was a very worthwhile series of comments.
I have long used the New English Bible as a study bible — it reaches back to a plethora of the most ancient sources and attempts to record them in clean modern English.
OTOH, I have long favored the KJV as a reading bible, as its poetry has the ability to stir men’s souls in a way that seems divinely inspired (and is most familiar to me).
It may be that the inspirational poetry and song reach back to the Geneva Bible. I should look further into this.
The Geneva Bible is on Bible Gateway, and Christian Book Distributors (aka christianbook.com) likely have it in all different shapes and sizes… There are websites that compare and contrast the KJV and the Geneva Bibles… interesting, indeed. Of course over here, we have to deal with the likes of the “Volksbibel” and other *cough* “contemporary” translations aimed at a lost and apostate population/church here in The Greatest Germany Of All Time™…

Needed to go one step further, there is no professional “CLERGY” in the New Testament at all.

Judaism had what would be called a ‘priestly class’, restricted to the Levites, men of the tribe of Levi. They wore special clothing to signify their position.
There is no corresponding concept in Christianity.
So to the extent that any self-identifying Christian church has a professional clergy, they must be either Judaizing, i.e., looking to the Old Testament for Christian Church practice, or they are making stuff up out of whole cloth — because it didn’t come from the New Testament.
Have a look at I, II Timothy and Titus. What would you call them (elders and bishops)???

Yes indeed, that is where the qualifications are given.
In Scripture, all of which is given by inspiration of God (cf. 2 Timothy 3:16), we are shown that every congregation is to have deacons and elders (a.k.a. bishops) where qualified men (qualifications given in Scripture) are able to serve.
Some of those qualifications are matters of judgment, but some are not matters of judgment, they are matters of observable fact.
In Titus chapter one the qualifications required to be an elder (a.k.a. bishop) include being the husband of one wife, with children who are under their father’s control (i.e., not unruly).
“For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: [6] If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. [7] For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;” (Titus 1:5-7, KJV)
So observable matter-of-fact qualifications for a bishop (a.k.a. elder) in the Lord’s church is that he must be:
A) a man (husband, Titus 1:6)
B) married, a husband of one wife (Titus 1:6)
C) having at least one child, and whose children are not unruly (Titus 1:6)

These qualifications are repeated in 1 Timothy chapter 3:
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; [3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; [4] One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;” (1 Timothy 3:2-4, KJV)
God is under no obligation to provide an explanation for His requirements to be a bishop (a.k.a. elder) in His church — but in this case, He does, in the very next verse:

It is true that there is no position or title of “Pope” in the entire Bible. Neither is the entire organizational structure of the RCC found in Scripture or in the 1st century.
The RCC (and many other churches today, following RCC practice) is a top-down pyramid model, like a human business model. The President or CEO at the top, ruling or governing over levels of middle managers who in turn govern over all of the franchises. It’s human bureaucracy and control.
That’s not how the Lord’s church operates at all.
In God’s Word, and in His design for His church, qualified men (i.e., men who meet the qualifications given in Scripture), deacons and elders (a.k.a. bishops) are appointed from among the congregation, and Jesus Christ is the Head of His church. The deacons and elders have zero oversight or authority over any other congregation, and there is no overarching (see where the ‘arch’ in archbishop comes from?) authority.
I don’t know, since God’s Word does not explicitly explain, but I suspect God did not design His church with a top-down organizational structure with a human head over it all because that would have made it easy for the Romans (or anyone else) to decapitate the church.
Instead, God designed His church like modern ‘cells’, independent from each other, each following only God and His Word. This makes it impossible for the enemies of Christ to destroy the church by arresting or killing any singular human head over the whole church.
Even if the Romans (or anyone else) wiped out a whole congregation, or multiple congregations, other congregations still survived, and new congregations would spring up all over the place, each independent congregation following the same Word of God as their authority.
Neither is there any vicar, or pontiff, there are no cardinals, no archbishops (neither ‘major’ nor ‘minor’), no ‘metropolitan archbishop’, no monsignors in God’s Word.
There is also no one with a religious title or honorific of ‘Father’ in Christianity:

The word “reverend” is found in the Bible, exactly one time, and it is used in reference to God, not to any man:

But we should ask, whose (or Whose) church is it?
The Lord’s church is Christ’s church, and He is the Head:

The travel through the I-40 gorge went well. The key was time of day for us. We entered around 8 AM and the line of traffic had not backed up yet. The other key is to be going the opposite direction of most traffic. The fall break school kids related crowds that had been to the beach were heading back west toward home while we were going toward the beaches. It sounds like you will miss the typical crush of those folks.
You just get in line and go 35-40 MPH speed limit for 12 miles. The largest tractor rigs are not allowed on it, just the normal sized with smaller loads that can make the inclines without issue. Earlier in the day or at night is better for that stretch. When you get on it you know why. It can get narrow, but is well designed to prevent accidents with an emergency/worker access lane on the work side. The project is MASSIVE as was the destruction. You want to see that in the daytime.
The good news is that the previous interstate expansion work around Asheville and even into SC on I-26 has made good progress. It is getting easier to get around the area.

I am a lifelong miner in the 1930 the US Corp of engineers drilled out national we know where everything is. Deposits Grade location approx strip ratio ect is already finished. No money would be needed guaranteed permitting would definately be needed ridding the environmental impact study and the 10 – 50 year wait times. We have everything needed to be self sufficient. Roads exist to many high yield zones. The Ambler road in Alaska out near Nome holds many valuable. Rock Creek is sitting right there 777 992 14 G blast drills D-10 an entire ball mill 3 sag mills are built we couldn’t get the state to release the water permit under Drill Baby Drill Gov. 360 million spent we were sent home. Thats another can of worms well deal with later but it is all sitting there 3 weeks 10 men I could have all the equipment running. 20 days above 30 F We could open the mill. The native population in the area are trained miners keep the whiskey away. AI is only going to give you what it was told to so be careful.

Got an update on the Bucksnort munitions disaster. They were a major supplier of munitions for law enforcement in the region in addition to military. Yes, I have seen one of their other adventures to a glacier where Drew was using his drone and it flew through a very large tunnel in the ice. It is very neat seeing a glacier from the safety of a drone video and not needing protective gear. 😀 Their dog goes with them and always seems to enjoy himself. Drew is also a great cook. I worked with him in IT years ago.

Whenever you are building a new thing, the first stage is demolition of the old. I cannot begin to relate the number of problems I have had because I tried to preserve the old.
And many times “demolition of the old” involves changing all of the personnel. Sometimes there are exceptions, but it’s usually best to start completely over.
That clip doesn’t show what her “smarter plan” is.
Everything I can think of would involve some form of amnesty. Two things off the top of my head: you can’t have amnesty for only some kinds of workers and not others, and once you open that door to “only needed workers,” it’s too late. Might as well just grant citizenship to everyone in the country illegally right now.
I’m not concerned about the fact that she owns a construction business. She could have been working within her industry all this time to make changes and help workers and their bosses do whatever is necessary to be here legally.

Her thesis is that a government can’t abide smuggling because it needs to sate its ravenous maw. My opinion would be that a bounded government could be run with taxes and tariffs so low that you might as well pay them.
When you shake hands with a worker at $10, and find at the end of the day you’re paying $14 and he’s taking home $6, there is a massive incentive for you both to avoid the government’s notice. If you were to shake hands at $10, pay $11, and the worker takes home $9…..not so much of an incentive.
It’s interesting that someone who calls herself “Conservative and Libertarian” could spend so much effort justifying Leviathan.
