If the Senate does not pass the SAVE Act and/or schedule a date for a vote by the time we return, I have enough votes from other members to shut down the floor of the House.

The girl’s name is Lily.
The hospital originally refused to treat the child who had been sleeping over at a friend’s grandma’s. The lady had to take lily back to the parents who then had to take the child back to the hospital.
Prayers for Lily. 🙏 And someone needs to look into the refusal to treat. She, or someone in her condition, might have died as a result.

If you want my take on it (well, lol, I’m going to tell you anyway), I think there are two kinds of gay people.
There are gay people like Bessent, Grenell, and Presler, who are actually just gay, attracted to the same gender for sex, like you are attracted to the opposite sex for that activity. I would bet you, if you sat down and talked to them about it, they would agree that homosexuality, while not evil or something to punish, is not “optimal” for humans.
Then there are the “gays by choice,” but not really by choice. They are the screwed-up-by life gays, who got that way through early sexual abuse or some other trauma. They are the “performative” ones, who desperately need everyone to accept that gayness is “great,” so they can feel ok about their brokenness. Because deep down, they know their trauma is responsible, and they (wrongly) blame themselves for that trauma having happened.
I would say almost of the “gays” in our current society are the second kind. There are very few of the first kind around, and there never have been. They are an anomaly.
There are “homosexual” anomalies in the animal kingdom, too. Gay rams are found by ranchers, who slaughter them because they won’t mate. It’s just another brokenness brought into the world by sin since the Fall, like death, disease, etc.
People used to understand this, that human gays were not “evil,” just anomalous and broken. And since humans can reason, those gay people were expected to curb their gay behavior as sinful, or outside of societal norms, just like we expect alcoholics not to be drunk, dangerous and disruptive. But not anymore. Now, being gay is supposed to be celebrated.
Our community has three gay married couples. Your comment is pretty accurate. One of the couples is pretty normal, like everyone else except their lifestyle. The other two are in your face about their lifestyles, and has no tolerance if you don’t agree with them.

From the first time I used a touchscreen in a car, I thought it took more of my attention to use than other options like buttons, and that it was more distracting. Fairly often the “touch” doesn’t take and has to be repeated, or I accidentally touch the wrong thing, requiring eyes to be taken off the road to correct it. Buttons and dials are so much simpler because they can be used without looking at them, or with just a quick glance to locate them.
Excellent. These modern touchscreens are horrible. People are buying USED now to avoid them.
Exactly… VW, for instance, has had a similar dashboard layout for probably 30 years or so; we had a 1994 Golf III and a 1995 Passat VR6 Wagon that had almost identical knobs and buttons to our 2008 Touran and 2010 Golf Plus (yep, we’ve got really modern cars 😀 )… BUT, I can reach down and turn on the heater, wipers, lights, turn signal, radio, etc. without having to take my eyes off the road.
Another problem is that touchscreens are VERY expensive to repair or replace, and, despite what they say, nowhere near as reliable, especially in unfriendly environments (closed car on a hot day, or sub-freezing temperatures which are even worse).
All of this gobbledeygook that TPTB are mandating for cars is just a way of getting us to quit driving, and/or implementing total control over us. And the EU can’t stop adding new regulations…. 😡 😡 😡 😡

Automakers are saying they can now build cars people want to drive with the emissions/fleet mileage mess neutered. This sounds like a good function to do just that.
They drove up the cost of repairs with all of the electronics. That helps them with more profits and hurts the buyers with higher repair costs. They need to decide what side they are on because the winners will be the ones who choose We the People first.
I keep my old trucks because they are simpler to operate. They have gauges & buttons. They do not have computers AND the yearly cost of repair is generally cheaper than the yearly car loan cost.

we’re looking at 8-12 inches of snow. snow we can deal with. hubby can plow. it’s the power lines–if it ices up? trees will come down with the lines. we’re in woods here and into NY –it’s all woods. (NY is where we get our power from.) we have the wood stove, and a small generator if it’s out too long. the real issue was water. we have a well–need the power to run the well. I have been storing water to flush toilets for a few years because this situation isn’t new. but if i disappear , you’ll know why.
If you have that much snow, you can melt in by the woodstove to flush toilets. And if you have to, boil it to drink. It’s a lot of work living like they did way back in the day, isn’t it? The power goes out, and all I can think of is my great-great- grandma in a log cabin with an outhouse.

Thanks for asking! Tiny snow here (Foley, MO just northwest of St Louis) most of the day (now barely covers the ground and gravel road). We are supposed to get a lot more tonight. Storm ends here around 6pm tomorrow. Early this morning, the temp here was zero. It got up to 5 degrees today. Just talking about it is making my hands shiver, though it is nice and warm inside (72 degrees) with electric, well water, and propane all working fine. There have not been consistent winds, and that is such a blessing.

John the Baptist, His preaching, manner of life, and baptism. (1-6) John reproves the Pharisees and Sadducees. (7-12) The baptism of Jesus. (13-17)
13-17 Christ’s gracious condescensions are so surprising, that even the strongest believers at first can hardly believe them; so deep and mysterious, that even those who know his mind well, are apt to start objections against the will of Christ. And those who have much of the Spirit of God while here, see that they need to apply to Christ for more. Christ does not deny that John had need to be baptized of him, yet declares he will now be baptized of John. Christ is now in a state of humiliation. Our Lord Jesus looked upon it as well becoming him to fulfil all righteousness, to own every Divine institution, and to show his readiness to comply with all God’s righteous precepts. In and through Christ, the heavens are opened to the children of men. This descent of the Spirit upon Christ, showed that he was endued with his sacred influences without measure. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. The 14th Amendment doesn’t say that anyone born on US soil is automatically a citizen. It says citizenship applies to those born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.
That second part is the key…
Being “subject to the jurisdiction” didn’t just mean being physically here. It meant a lot more. It meant allegiance and being fully under US authority… not just temporarily hanging out on a layover while having loyalty to another country.
According to the historical record laid out in the brief, legal scholars, judges, and commentators from the late 1800s into the early 1900s said the same thing over and over: children born to parents who were only temporarily in the United States were not automatically citizens. That means tourists, travelers, and foreign nationals just passing through were not treated as citizens by default.
And this wasn’t some random, fringe interpretation. It shows up again and again in popular legal writings from that time. The widely accepted assumption was that citizenship meant being an actual part of the American political community, not just your geographical location at the time of birth.
That’s the part most Americans were never told, but now, it’s about to be front-page news.

The Trump administration has not said the penguin posts are about Greenland, to my knowledge.
Of course it’s natural to make that connection since the posts show frozen territory and Greenland is in the news. But maybe the administration is connecting the original penguin meme about going your own way with current events surrounding Greenland, not trying to make a point about penguins being IN Greenland.

The original penguin story was about how sometimes a penguin will just head off across the landscape alone, over the mountains, going it completely alone. Even though the way penguins survive in their cold hostile environment is to “stay with the group,” a curious or adventurous one will just head out. It said “Americans have always known” (or something to that effect) up above that video.
I think the message here of “Embrace the Penguin” refers to the American spirit of self-reliance, exploration, and the “frontier.” I think the admin is signalling the public to head out confidently into the “unknown” future, boldly going “where no man has gone before,” into uncharted territory. In this case, the Arctic.
It’s fantastic marketing, which I have come to expect from this administration. They are killing it with memes, videos, and ooh-rah America (hate to use the word, but it is) propaganda. It’s awesome, it’s working, and I love it.

Camping out at home! Hubby test drove his zero degree sleeping bag in his one man tent in our back yard for naptime Friday after work. It worked well enough with all the layers he had on. He did, however, discover that certain tent stakes did much worse in freezing conditions. Several of the flat bent metal stakes broke when trying to muscle them out of the ground while the round metal ones, like a very thick bent wire, survived removal OK 🙂

A federal judge issued one of the most reckless judgments of recent years late Thursday, essentially granting leftist nonprofits final approval authority over Trump administration deportation orders affecting their members. U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young, 85, ruled that the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) have continually had their members’ First Amendment rights violated by federal officials by being targeted for deportation over their support of Hamas or similar terrorist groups. Further, as remediation, Judge Young barred the federal government from deporting AAUP and MESA members without the groups’ permission and final approval by a federal judge.
“This Court ruled that the Plaintiffs American Association of University Professors (‘AAUP’) and their associate chapters, and the Middle East Studies Association (‘MESA’) have shown by clear and convincing evidence that Secretaries [Kristi] Noem and [Marco] Rubio have intentionally and in concert implemented Executive Orders in 14161 and 14188 a viewpoint-discriminatory way to chill protected speech that ‘violated the First Amendment,’” the judge wrote.
Young goes on to say, “Any non-citizen member of the plaintiffs AAUP or MESA, who was a member on or after March 25, 2025, and continued as a member through September 30, 2025, shall have a right to institute a proceeding (‘Sanction Action’) in the United States District Court…”
While Judge Young’s ruling is unlikely to stand on appeal, it marks one of the most radical rulings ever against federal immigration law and the executive branch’s ability to enforce it. Not only does Young ignore the jurisdiction of the U.S. Immigration Court system—an error highlighted in a separate case that The National Pulse reported on last week—he makes the drastic move of essentially granting two private nonprofit groups, the AAUP and MESA, veto power over deportation proceedings unless a federal district court judge approves the deportation.

I know I’m in the minority on this, but I do. I want to know everything they are doing, that they consider safe to tell us. If that’s a letter at this point, so be it. There’s no way that I could advise them about what to do.
We watch Pres. Trump negotiate on the world stage, manipulating countries and international organizations seemingly as easily as moving pieces on a chess board, while at the same time we think 1) he’s clueless about what the DOJ is doing, or 2) that he knows what they’re doing and disapproves and would do exactly what we would suggest but is not saying a word (which is so unlike him that it’s ludicrous). A third option is that he knows what they’re doing, he knows why, he knows the strategy going forward, and he both approves it and considers it to be the best, or even the only, way. Unless and until Pres. Trump indicates otherwise, I’m going to consider the third option to be in play.
Once I was clued in how Trump and Stephen Miller were dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s on the Insurrection Act, with a variety of legal actions, executive orders, etc., and had been doing so for a while, I stopped sweating this stuff.
I’m now convinced that the Insurrection Act is part of the plan, and has been long before the Inauguration.
After the George Floyd mess and knowing there are PAID protesters, I am sure it was in the plans.

That fits in with how Pres. Trump operates. He gives people chances to do the right thing. He warns them and lets them make their decisions as he lays the groundwork to do things legally.
Most people seem to be tired of letters. My impression is that the DOJ has steps it has to take, or possibly steps it thinks that legally and politically are best to take.
According to what Bondi said, this was not a “do this or we’re going to come after you” type of letter. It was a “support the administration’s law enforcement efforts because we’re not stopping and we’re going to enforce the law and protect the citizens” type of letter. Maybe it contains an “or else” clause. The DOJ is not going to reveal something like that.
She said things are fluid. So if Walz continues his anti-ICE rhetoric while they continue to enforce the law, things will end up in a collision; but Bondi is not going to spill the beans, much as we’d like her to.
A lot of people want the administration to go scorched earth, but that can often backfire and preclude the goal from being accomplished. I doubt that any one of us, with the possible exception of pgroup and maybe a few others I’m not aware of, knows the implications of doing what we sit behind our computers and demand. I would ask what people want the DOJ to do, but it’s pointless because the demands I’ve seen here and elsewhere, for a variety of situations, are completely unworkable and would only cause more trouble. Sometimes the “solutions” are unlawful, but because Bondi is not doing them, right now, she’s the bad guy.
Bondi is in a tough spot. If she goes on Fox News, people say that’s all she does. If she doesn’t communicate by appearing on Fox or other network TV or by writing X posts, etc., then people assume the worst and say that nothing is being done and that she’s getting her hair and makeup done for her next TV appearance. If she hadn’t said anything about communicating with Walz in a letter, we would not know that they had addressed him directly. When she does communicate, people are never satisfied because they think they know what needs to be done, all the while turning it into a lose-lose, demoralizing situation.

Federal agents are not required to assume good intentions. They are not required to wait until a weapon is raised. They are not required to pause because a camera is present. Close-in movement toward an armed agent during enforcement is a lawful threat profile under every use-of-force standard in this country.

NYT is reporting that Tracee Mergen, a supervisor in the FBI Minnesota Field office, quit over DOJ orders to drop her civil rights inquiry into the ICE officer who shot and killed Renee Good.
But a big part of Mergen’s resume was omitted in the article: her deep involvement in the prosecution of Tom Barrack, chair of President Trump’s first inaugural committee and a longtime associate. Barrack’s case represented yet another politically-motivated and retaliatory use of the Biden DOJ against the president and his allies.
Mergen at the time was at the notoriously corrupt New York FBI field office. She was a lead agent in the investigation into Barrack for FARA, conspiracy, and other offenses. He was indicted by the Biden DOJ in 2021. (Press release is another reminder of the brazenly political Biden DOJ and the press had absolutely no qualms about it back then.)
Not only did Mergen testify to the grand jury in the Barrack matter, she also testified as a government witness at trial. Barrack’s lawyers, however, accused Mergen of making false statements to the grand jury and tried unsuccessfully to obtain all transcripts of her GJ testimony.
Barrack was acquitted on all charges.

Lol, he was so excited! There’s a nice dog and 2 cats at my son’s house. Solas and the dog bonded instantly. The cats ran away and hid in a bedroom.

Yeah, I think Mr. Whitmore is actually a fake person. The video is – at the very minimum – an AI air-brushing of a real person, but IMO it’s all high-quality AI, very likely produced by people I’m not going to bust, because I agree with what they’re doing. This is basically a psy-op to encourage patriots to remain non-violent. Which sounds almost like Q, but I digress! 😉

When these guys show up at an ICE operation, Walz, Ellison, Frey, Klobuchar, and all the rest need to be in chains on a plane within 72 hours, IMO.
I am beginning to wonder if these people with rifles and guns are sacrificing themselves for the cause? No normal person does that trying to stand against ICE? The more people get shot the more likely it is that riots expanse. Really these people in this climate need to be taken off the street.

Some wisdom from my late, lamented Uncle Steven, who was such an amazing forager….
When salt trucks are running around smaller streets, they frequently don’t turn off the salt distribution when they come up to stop signs. Accordingly, they leave a little line of unneeded salt one truck-length behind the limit line. My uncle would hop out and sweep up these lines into a dust pan and drop it in a bucket in the back of his truck — it was only going to impact vegetation if he left it.
In this way, he’d accumulate enough free road salt for use around his property.

It is rumored that President Trump is likely to invoke the Insurrection Act in Minneapolis, Minnesota, perhaps as early as Monday afternoon. This is potentially why the following statement has been released by President Trump:
(VIA Truth Social) – During the four years of Crooked Joe Biden and Democrat failed leadership, Tens of Millions of Illegal Alien Criminals poured into our Country, including Hundreds of Thousands of Convicted Murderers, Rapists, Kidnappers, Drug Dealers, and Terrorists.
I won the Election in a Historic Landslide, and Republicans won Majorities in both the House and Senate, in large part, because we pledged to SEAL THE BORDER, which we have done, and launch the largest Mass Deportation of Illegal Alien Criminals in American History. This Deportation effort is underway, and in Republican run Cities and States, these operations are going peacefully and smoothly, because Local Law Enforcement Officers are allowed to work with their federal counterparts.
For example, in the five Republican run States of Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Louisiana, ICE has arrested 150,245 Criminal Illegal Aliens over the past year — with ZERO protests, riots, or chaos. Why? Because Local Police and ICE are cooperating and working together.
Meanwhile, Democrat run Sanctuary Cities and States are REFUSING to cooperate with ICE, and they are actually encouraging Leftwing Agitators to unlawfully obstruct their operations to arrest the Worst of the Worst People!
By doing this, Democrats are putting Illegal Alien Criminals over Taxpaying, Law-Abiding Citizens, and they have created dangerous circumstances for EVERYONE involved. Tragically, two American Citizens have lost their lives as a result of this Democrat ensued chaos.
That is why I am hereby calling on Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and EVERY Democrat Governor and Mayor in the United States of America to formally cooperate with the Trump Administration to enforce our Nation’s Laws, rather than resist and stoke the flames of Division, Chaos, and Violence:
1. Governor Walz and Mayor Frey should turn over all Criminal Illegal Aliens that are currently incarcerated in their State Prisons and Jails to Federal Authorities, along with all Illegal Criminals with an active warrant or known Criminal History, for Immediate Deportation.
2. State and Local Law Enforcement must agree to turn over all Illegal Aliens arrested by Local Police.
3. Local Police must assist Federal Law Enforcement in apprehending and detaining Illegal Aliens who are wanted for Crimes.
4. Democrat Politicians must partner with the Federal Government to protect American Citizens in the rapid removal of all Criminal Illegal Aliens in our Country. Some Democrats, in places like Memphis, Tennessee, or Washington, D.C., have done so, resulting in safer streets for ALL.
In addition, I am hereby calling on the United States Congress to immediately pass Legislation to END Sanctuary Cities, which is the root cause of all of these problems. American Cities should be Safe Sanctuaries for Law Abiding American Citizens ONLY, not Illegal Alien Criminals who broke our Nation’s Laws.
All of these requests are rooted in COMMON SENSE, and will provide the best possible circumstances to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! The Trump Administration is standing by and waiting for ANY Democrat to do the right thing, and work with us on these important matters of MAKING AMERICA SAFE like it is in all sections of our Country where we are, together with Local Leadership, participating and involved.
