Remember, Wall Street and the financial system is not made up just with banks and the stock exchanges, but fund groups that buy up various stocks and sell shares of the funds as a package.
The current headline grabbers – hedge funds – are not even that straight forward. They make money on other people’s mistakes. This explanation of how they work and who actually is involved is filled with red words and profanity, but it tells the situation like it is. Seriously – LANGUAGE WARNING!
So, here we have *mysterious* money making machines being bankrupted by what are known as retail traders trading up a stock that had next to no value (the retail business GameStop was in the process of going bankrupt itself, actually) thanks to Reddit users who took a well placed stock tip and are turning the tables on the *mysterious* people who make money off of other people’s errors and bankruptcies.
Given that there is every indication that there may not be an administrative government in place right now, the Federal Government is in no position to bail out any of these hedge funds and their managers like would happen from time to time under past monoparty administrations.
The timing is just impeccable.
Think about it, the hedge fund managers bankrolled the 2016 presidential election splintering. They were – and still are – the big money behind the military industrial complex since its inception over 100 years ago. Their influence on politics is not questioned. They ARE a lot of the big money in politics to an extent.
And somehow, right after President Donald Trump leaves office, a Reddit group of stock market gamers gets an anonymous stock tip for an undervalued stock that’s being short sold (think the stock exchange scene in “Trading Places”) for artificial suppression, and a big payday upon that company’s demise.

A David and Goliath saga is unfolding in financial markets over the stock price of struggling retail chain GameStop. On Wednesday, Goliath walked away from the battle.
Two Goliaths, actually.
A pair of professional investment firms that placed big bets that money-losing video game retailer GameStop’s stock will crash have essentially admitted defeat. The victor, for now at least, is a volunteer army of smaller investors who have been rallying on Reddit and elsewhere online to support GameStop’s stock and beat back the professionals.
GameStop’s stock surged as high as $380 Wednesday morning, after sitting below $18 just a few weeks ago.
One of the two major investors that surrendered, Citron Research, acknowledged Wednesday in a YouTube video that it unwound the majority of its bet that GameStop stock would fall. Andrew Left, who runs Citron, said it took “a loss, 100%” to do so, but that does not change his view that GameStop’s stock will eventually fall sharply.
“We move on. Nothing has changed with GameStop except the stock price,” Left said. He also said he “has respect for the market,” which can temporarily run stock prices up higher than critics think they should go.
Melvin Capital is also exiting GameStop, with manager Gabe Plotkin telling CNBC that the hedge fund was taking a significant loss. He denied rumors that the hedge fund will fail.

But that’s not all. Remember when XVII said that things had to happen in a specific order? I found this somewhere on Wednesday. The implication being the 10 days of darkness are almost over.
So, here’s the question: are the hedge fund and Wall Street people going to go bankrupt before they are prosecuted for their crimes? Is that part of the plan before the American government rises from the ashes of the fraud we all witnessed with the 2020 election steal, and the *possible* end of the corporation which has never been confirmed?
Wouldn’t that be something to behold?
Just a thought…the plan might be playing out before our eyes, and we weren’t expecting this particular intermezzo in the midst of the Capitol being locked down and all those politicians acting so weird.

My girls decided to publish their own school newpaper. They were bashing amongst other things, the lunches. I had made sure they had read the constitution so they knew their rights and the “newspaper” happened after that. Yes, the one who had instigated it had to see the principal and stood up to him. He did cede, but also pointed out that the lunch ladies feelings had been hurt. I think a couple of more editions went out, and then they quit because of a lack of material.

Ground Report: TN GOP meetings in the middle TN region, each been packed. Attended 4 in last 2.5 weeks. All full and 2 packed. People are fired up and focused. Not excited like all fall, exicted and happy and doing fun things … ready for political action, passionate and fied up about fixing our own party/standing up to the RINOs and determined (also worried) to stand up and win against Dems. One meeting was actually yelling at the minority who were “moderates” – one was a “leader” and actual name calling, yelling and angery confrontations. Heated. Glad that wasn’t my meeting! Delgihted though to see the MAGA conservatives in there fighting. This “leader” was literally repeating dem narratives and talking about unity, 1/6, and compromising with Dems. He did not win the meeting and was a tiny minority so that was Very encouraging!
I have talked with literally No one who is happy about our TN Senators and the senators in DC as lead by Mitch. And the RINOs aren’t winning in most counties of TN that I know of so that is good.

Obama’s loan modification poured fuel on the fire. There was no law backing up his plan and the decision on modification was up to the bankers. If your property wasn’t worth much AND there was no CDS on it you got a modification. If there was a CDS then you were strung along with ‘lost paperwork’ for months and then hit with a huge bill due in 30 days. The bill includes all back payments owed, penalties AND Lawyers fees. If you managed to beg, borrow or steal the money, dance #2 started. The bank then claims it can not give you an answer to the question of just how much money was needed to keep the house from being foreclosed on because they did not know what the lawyer fees were. So additional thousands have to be spent on lawyers to get the banks to cough up the answer to the simple question HOW MUCH. This takes months with additional penalties and lawyers fees piling up (From personal experience)

I was briefly in the real estate business in CA when the mortgage industry was handing out mortgages like candy. The housing bubble in CA was growing exponentially. People were making six figure profits on 6-month flips.
I watched deals go down that were insane. One in particular comes to mind.
A latino couple bought a house for $275,000, which was way out of their income ability. She was a full time college student. He was an in-town truck driver. He could not speak English.
Watching them qualify for and buy a house was devastating for me because I was married, two kids at home, husband working a good job and we could not afford a house in that range.
Something was very wrong.
Thankfully we moved out of CA soon after and bought a sweet little home in an area that was not suffering from the bubble.
The reason Clinton was popular is easy to understand.
Clinton presided over a “strong” economy.
After Clinton, the economy has never been as strong.
Sure, it was Clinton that ruined it, but we are high information people here. Most people aren’t that thoughtful about it.
The Clinton era was “the good old days” before everything went wrong.
The Clintons were smart. They set timebomb traps to go off after they left office. Al Quaeda, 9/11, Iraq war, Subprime Mortgage Crisis, China manufacturing heist, bio-academic collusion.

Sorry to nitpick details, but this isn’t entirely what happened.
One infamous Redditor/Youtuber started pushing the $GME short squeeze idea back in 2019 and has been making Youtube videos about it since then, but got laughed at up until recently (that guy now has $48 million worth of stock and still hasn’t sold). The $GME stock itself left single digits in September 2020, started getting a lot of hype on Reddit in December 2020, and started it’s astronomical run on January 14th.
What kicked off this massive run in January 2021 is what is called a “catalyst” in the industry. GME announced plans to pivot the company’s business model to online and more PC-centric gaming, reshuffled their management, and, most importantly, brought on a man named Ryan Cohen to their board. Ryan Cohen is the founder of Chewy.com, and he has been very publicly vocal about turning around Gamestop in the same way Chewy.com changed the pet food business model. All of these changes, especially Ryan Cohen’s new presence in the company, that attracted the more hardcore investors on Reddit. They saw Gamestop as a legitimately undervalued stock with a bright future rather than dying bankrupt mall store.
The hardcore investors started buying up legitimately undervalued Gamestop stock, kept getting shorted by hedge funds, and what started as standard stock trading turned into an emotional battle. Then the hedge funds started losing, the Fake News got involved, and this whole thing blew up into what it is now.
The larger point here is that it had been brewing for a long time (before the election), and people saw/still see legit value in Gamestop rather than a bankrupt dying company. All of this said, I haven’t ruled out the idea that this is a covert white hat operation to get rid of the hedge fund parasites on this country and redistribute wealth to the 99%.
The gaming industry has been lackluster for several years (for multiple reasons), add to that the brick and mortar aspect of GME and Wall Street and yes this was no surprise. At least they had the balls to follow through on it.
The gaming industry attracted a lot of new gamers last year because of the lockdowns. Video games are now a bigger industry than Hollywood. GME is in a good position to turn themselves around.

Things have changed since 2002 and for many years hardcore gamers have been craving some good devs and output. No surprise covid has affected the numbers.

They kept trying to trace specific inputs into the production floor and out into specific outputs. It’s possible, but nobody in their right mind does it that way.
Unfortunately, this focus on making sausage was also an indication that the firm intended to use him up and throw him out. This would likely be a damned shame, because he could connect with people making stuff, contractors, and tradesmen……but the firm’s aspirations for growth lay upon bankers, investment bankers, lawyers, hedge funds, and venture capitalists.
Charles Payne (who I don’t know from a hot rock) noted that the stock was 140% short — there were 1.4 shares short for every share in float.
That’s stupidity and piggishness writ large.
The thing is, if one (big) company is selected a sacrificial victim, the rest of the buzzards can get away, even if the victim isn’t all of the overhang — because they can arrange to go foom in such a chaotic manner that every one else will have months past the due dates to settle their own arrangements.
Another way for the hedges to squirm off the hook is to negotiate a friendly buyout of the entire company from controlling shareholders at 3x their actual worth…..then, when they have control of the company, do a stock issuance for eighteen gazillion shares……which they can buy and pay back their shorts.
Gosh, and it would be a darned shame if their assets were seized or frozen.
Darned shame.

To put this in perspective, the entire market cap of GME was recently $15.80 (price on 12/01/20) x 69,746,960 shares outstanding = $1,102,001,968 — just over a billion dollars.
The hedge fund guys supposedly lost $14.3 billion on Wednesday.
Do you think the current management of Gamestop could resist a buyout at, say, $4B? They know this short squeeze won’t last.

A few ideas:
Focus the emotional intensity into motivation to actually DO something about it. Focus on a few things you can actually get involved and change and explain those specific things to your husband.
Depending on your state, I am sure there are groups working on specific issues with which you agree. Turn your frustration in to focused action and then see the progress and be encouraged.
Meet with fellow, like minded people in real life/off line/locally and take husband with you so he sees that you all are not the only conservatives around.
Hugely encouraging to turn off the media and spend the day working toward something, attending a meeting with many like minded people.
4 GOP meetings in the greater middle TN area in last 2.5 weeks for me and all packed, passionate, focused and determined. This has been and will continue to be a tremendous source of encouragement and brings some peace to know all the good that is happening and positive work that is being done.
Right now, many conservative blogs are also a source of negative spin as they are being emotion driven rather than fact driven and will remain of neglible value and quality while they remain driven by anger and are lashing out, at both legitimate and illegitimate targets.
For news, I only read online but from a variety of sources so it is quick and controlled. Yes, I see the negative but I can scan, click down through to the original documents and avoid as much spin, MSM/Dem narrative as possible as well as negative, angery conservatives.

The headline is misleading. She is stating that the RNC will be neutral during the 2024 presidency primary. If President Trump wins the primary then the RNC would back him in the general just like any other candidate. She is not being anti-Trump. She is remaining neutral in the primary as she is supposed to do.
The 2020 primary was unusual in that the RNC fully endorsed President Trump for the primary and all of the State GOPs and CECs were allowed to do the same v. the usual policy of remaining neutral in the primary.

Also turns out that of all the vaunted fluids observation and top-off at JiffyLube….they don’t even check brake or clutch fluid. So, I guess I’ll be watching that a lot closer in the future.
Good idea to check all fluids periodically. Commercial truck drivers go down a check list before getting into the vehicle. Fluids and tire pressure are on that check list.

There’s a reason ours go to the dealer for a good percentage of the work. Yes, it’s more expensive, but we haven’t had any cars croak because of bad maintenance.
Well, not since my dad quit maintaining them.
I’d like to do more of the work myself, but am severely limited by not having a lift.
I have a lift in my shop.

You might consider installing an appropriate sized concrete pad in the area where you do your work. shouldn’t take more than about four bags of ‘crete.
In touring around older houses in the area during open houses, I encountered one where they had a garage with a five-foot deep, two foot wide trench in the middle. The trench could be covered by crosswise 4x4s while driving a vehicle in, then all the 4×4’s could be pulled out and stacked beside. That way, you got access under the vehicle by simply going into the trench.
Since the vehicle would be parked, parking brake engaged, and chocked before you entered the trench, it was reasonably failsafe.

When I was a teenager, changed my oil in a trench much like you describe. Best Friend those years lived on Shasta Avenue. I lived on Hanchett Ave.
Trench at his house was probably 6′ L x 3 1/2′ W x 4′ D. 2″ x 6″ planks were the cover when not in use.
Our cars at the time ranged from VW bugs, MG Midget (fun car) and Vega. Light…easy for one person to push and pull, by themselves.
One person could change the oil. We placed our car in neutral, partially over the trench. Then pulled the car over us while we were in the hole. Drain the oil, change the filter and push the car away, allowing us to get out of the trench.
Teenagers. Garage floor very level. No brakes or chocks.

The garage trench thing seemed like a very practical and inexpensive solution to not having a lift. Definitely superior to lying on one’s back under a truck on gravel.
That said, I’d rather have a lift. One reason is under-dash work. I’ve had to change the cabin fan in my ’94 Honda (passenger side under dash) and had to screw around with something on the driver’s side, and it’s just cruelty to try that crap on a driveway. With a lift, you can just put the car up three feet and work under a dash like a human.
That said, even having a controlled environment would be a step up. Our garage is full of random stuff, and all car repairs have to be done out-of-doors.
The fiancee has been known to walk to the Rose Garden with 3-lens camera rig to get pictures.

People will have thoughts of murder with no justification and will see nothing wrong in that.
Lust will be viewed as socially acceptable and sexual intercourse will be seen as the central requirement of life.
Sin will increase exponentially, while virtue will fade and cease to flourish.
People will become addicted to intoxicating drinks and drugs.
Gurus will no longer be respected and their students will attempt to injure them. Their teachings will be insulted, and followers of Kama will wrest control of the mind from all human beings.
All the human beings will declare themselves as gods or boon given by gods and make it as a business instead of teachings.
People will no longer get married and live with each other just for sexual pleasure.
Weather and environment will degrade with time and frequent and unpredictable rainfalls will happen.

FARGO, ND – Three prominent Democrats in North Dakota donated to the legal defense fund of a man arrested for attacking the office of Republican Senator John Hoeven with an axe.
On December 21, 2020, according to Inforum, a masked man was captured on video entering Hoeven’s office building in downtown Fargo. The man reportedly rang the intercom at the Senator’s office, waited several seconds, and then walked away.
A few minutes later, video showed the man returning to the Senator’s door with an axe.
In the video below, the man can be seen smashing the intercom, smashing and removing the upper window, and smashing the lower window. He then walks away with his weapon.

No one was in the office at the time of the attack. Damage was estimated to be about $3,800, according to a property manager.
With the help of additional video footage and several tips, police identified the suspect as Thomas “Tas” Starks, age 30.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election farce, the majority of Republican officials have been desperate to quash legitimate investigations and perpetrate the ruse that no severe irregularities occurred in battleground states.
According to emails leaked to Big League Politics, the reason behind this Republican cover-up may be due to the extreme levels of incompetence and failure exerted by the GOP establishment.
Big League Politics obtained the correspondence from Jan. 22 in which one exasperated attorney described how the state of Michigan was woefully unprepared for election fraud that was plotted in the open many months in advance.
“Sure the Democrats lied and cheated to win but the truth is that they out smarted (sic) us. They set the table in the courts before the election so they could do what they do so well. We got played. Now we know what is coming next time,” the lawyer stated.
“Instead of us organizing a few weeks before 2022 we need to start now,” they added.
The attorney outlined how the Michigan Republican Party and their big money attorneys dropped the ball on everything from election day operations to the fight for accountability after the robbery had occurred.
“The effort in Detroit smacked of last minute preparation or no preparation at all. People arrived and were offered no direction. There was no set of guidelines on election law. I pressed to get a copy of the Michigan Secretary of State guidelines but we had no copier at the office. I had 60 copies made at my hotel and gave them out,” the attorney explained.
“From day to day we had little idea of what to do. Making calls to voters is a great idea but did we really need to fly lawyers in from all over the US to do that? That could have been done by anyone. It was a waste of talent and money,” they added.
The attorney is hoping that Republicans in Michigan and across the country improve their efforts in subsequent years, and they are willing to lead the effort so elections are not bumbled as they were in 2020.
“Next time we do this lets (sic) have written materials in advance. Lets (sic) have a greeter to orient people. Tell people ahead of time that they needed a google account. Have a tech person there to help those who were born before 1980. Have a printer and a coffee maker that works. Have local maps. Have a hotel closer to the office,” the attorney wrote.
“I have done this before for many years… I knew what to look for. People need to be trained in how to be a poll watcher. I am ready to begin work. Lets (sic) get our act together. Thank you to all of you for what you did. You are patriots and can be very proud,” they wrote to conclude their email.

DHS’s Unintelligible Threat Bulletin

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced January 27th that a heightened threat environment existed in the country due to what they described as:
The bulletin goes on to say that “Domestic Violent Extremists (DVEs)” –a newly created term:
It is unclear exactly to what this refers. The term Domestic Violent Extremist (DVE) was established as a joint term by the DHS and FBI following a requirement inserted into the National Defense Authorization Act which mandated a standardized definition.
Curiously, while the Bulletin claims the definition of DVE is provided within the DHS Lexicon, in fact it does not appear at the attached link. Instead, only the phrase “domestic terrorism” appears. A note on the FBI/DHS NDAA report notes that DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis uses the phrase “domestic terrorist” interchangeably with the phrase “domestic violent extremist.”
It seems unlikely the new bulletin refers to the multiple months of Antifa-led attacks against police precincts, ICE facilities, and courthouses, including attacks as recent as this week. DHS briefly utilized the term “Violent Antifa Anarchist Inspired” (VAAI) to refer to individuals responsible for attacks on Portland’s Hatfield Federal Courthouse and other federal facilities. A 2016 report from Obama-era DHS described Antifa as the primary instigators of violence at public rallies.
The bulletin may refer to claims by the FBI that incidents similar to the violent January 6th U.S. Capitol riot were likely to occur at State capitols, alleging “a huge uprising” around the country on or around Inauguration day. Over 25,000 U.S. National Guard troops were dispatched to Washington D.C. as a result of alleged threats, in a move widely panned as a political theater. No incidents occurred.
The DHS bulletin also mentions potential:
This is likely a reference to the Christmas Day Nashville bombing outside an AT&T building which resulted in massive downtime for regional telecommunications and 911 systems. Some media speculated that the alleged perpetrator Anthony Quinn Warner (who died in the bombing) was motivated by popular online conspiracy theories regarding 5G networks and COVID-19. Yet Tennessee Bureau of Investigations Director David Rauch said the motivation was undetermined noting, “We may never find out the exact reasoning behind the activity that took place.”
The Nashville bombing has therefore not been classified as domestic terrorism as no motivation has been formally assigned for the attack.
Yet the bulletin would appear to be advancing the claim that irrational beliefs and delusions –such as belief in lizard people, a view Warner allegedly held—can be classified as a political motivation. This is problematic for several reason, even as we acknowledge that the Nashville bombing revealed a serious vulnerability which may be exploited by future threats.
For one thing it places DHS in the position of adjudicating what constitutes a “false narrative,” and likely into extending its search for potential terrorists into the realm of constitutionally protected speech. It also runs the risk of attempting to frame otherwise legal speech or even mere internet rumor as somehow constituting criminal incitement or support for terrorism.
Lastly the DHS bulletin contains a reference to three Homegrown Violent Extremist attacks against government officials in 2020 but the actual incidents go unidentified. Homegrown Violent Extremist (HVE) is a DHS euphemism usually meant to refer to individuals inspired by Al Qaeda or the Islamic State but who were not formally members of a foreign terrorist group.
This most recent DHS bulletin continues to fall victim to a contrived and shifting lexicon, which creates confusion and doubt about apparent threats.
U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies should speak clearly and frankly about apparent threats in ways which most accurately communicate the nature of the ideological threat, its objectives, capabilities, and intent. Until it does so, such bulletins –presumably intended to be helpful and educate about potential threats—will be interpreted as vague, overarching, and increasingly politicized.
Transparently setting up American citizens. This is unacceptable. No freedom loving, rights-protecting American would agree with these overwrought assessments.

However, the Devil is in the details with this bill, and the details are sickening. Starting with the details of registration…
HR 127 establishes a registry searchable by federal, state, and local governments, including the military – even the GENERAL PUBLIC!
The system will track the make, model, and serial number of all firearms, their owners, the dates they were acquired, and where they are being stored.
You read that right. HR 127 would make public your most private information to anti-gunners who can then dox, harass or even attack you while knowing full well every intimate detail of your self-defense systems.
The system will also track firearms loans, including the ID of the loan recipient and for how long it is being loaned. This bill applies retroactively, so current firearms owners will have three months to supply their gun information to the federal government from the bill’s effective date.
Unfortunately, the real draconian part of HR 127 is its licensing requirements. If it passes, you will have to:
TRANSLATION: You not only have to PAY the government for the privilege of owning guns already in your possession; you also have to convince an anti-gunner that you deserve to keep your rights!
For the psychological evaluation, a licensed psychologist will interview individuals’ spouses and at least two other family members or associates to “further determine the state of the mental emotional, and relational stability of the individual in relation to firearms.”
Licenses will be denied to individuals hospitalized for issues such as depressive episodes; no duration for license disability is specified, and it does not matter whether the individual sought help voluntarily.

I just got some spare parts from Thermador.
I looked at the description on the bags and it said Fuss Pie.
I didn’t remember ordering any Fuss Pie.
And, as a partial explanation for why I saw this, Thermador was an American company when I bought my cooktop from them. They were then acquired by Bosch, a German conglomerate. That’s why the tags on their parts are in four languages — the first being German and the last being Spanish.
And that’s why there are two other words on the inventory tag that look odd together.
