This is amazing. This is glorious. Summon a surgeon – it’s been a little over a week and you’re supposed to call the doctor after just four hours.
From Kurt Schlichter, who can certainly write a good rant (https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2025/01/30/trumps-winning-streak-is-totally-discombobulating-the-democrats-n2651308)
Yep, Kurt has noticed that lots of people are getting twanging schadenböners.
And you do not have to be male to get this kind of böner.
Hat tip to Scott (I think–if it wasn’t Scott it was 4GodAndCountry) for this video, which implies a LOT of schadenböners in our future.
[WOLF EDIT – for whatever reason this YouTube video no longer embeds, even as the shortened URL (below), so I have converted both URLs to links which open up in a new tab.]

OK now for the fine print.
This is the WQTH Daily Thread. You know the drill. There’s no Poltical correctness, but civility is a requirement. There are Important Guidelines, here, with an addendum on 20191110.
We have a new board – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation.
And remember Wheatie’s Rules:
1. No food fights
2. No running with scissors.
3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
4. Zeroth rule of gun safety: Don’t let the government get your guns.
5. Rule one of gun safety: The gun is always loaded.
5a. If you actually want the gun to be loaded, like because you’re checking out a bump in the night, then it’s empty.
6. Rule two of gun safety: Never point the gun at anything you’re not willing to destroy.
7. Rule three: Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
8. Rule the fourth: Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

Spot (i.e., paper) Prices
Last week:

Silver $32.81
Platinum $1,009.00
Palladium $1,002.00
Rhodium $5,675.00
FRNSI* 159.861+

This week, 3PM Mountain Time, Kitco “ask” prices. Markets have closed for the weekend.
Gold $3,203.70
Silver $32.26
Platinum $998.00
Palladium $990.00
Rhodium $5,825.00
FRNSI* 153.979-
Gold:Silver 99.309-
Gold spent the last two days below $3200 before managing to claw its way just over that line at the very end of the day Friday. The current lower prices are attributed to less economic fears with respect to ChinaIsAsshoe.
Silver is now worth more than one percent of gold. I saw an interesting quip about it; it gets the worst of both its worlds. When the equity markets are panicking, silver is seen as an industrial metal…so it goes down. When the equity markets are booming, silver is seen as a precious metal so people want to sell off and put their money in stocks, so it goes down.
I remember back when Canada helped us out with three embassy people in Iran (1979) a Canadian comedian being featured on Nightline; he said that our two dollars were tied together. “When your dollar goes down, our dollar goes down. When your dollar goes up, our dollar goes down” said the Canadian.
Similarly it seems that gold and silver are tied together; when gold goes down, silver goes down, when gold goes up, silver goes down.
Buying opportunity for the white metal?
*The SteveInCO Federal Reserve Note Suckage Index (FRNSI) is a measure of how much the dollar has inflated. It’s the ratio of the current price of gold, to the number of dollars an ounce of fine gold made up when the dollar was defined as 25.8 grains of 0.900 gold. That worked out to an ounce being $20.67+71/387 of a cent. (Note gold wasn’t worth this much back then, thus much gold was $20.67 71/387ths. It’s a subtle distinction. One ounce of gold wasn’t worth $20.67 back then, it was $20.67.) Once this ratio is computed, 1 is subtracted from it so that the number is zero when the dollar is at its proper value, indicating zero suckage.
It Didn’t Start With Wegener
And now for the one at least some people have been waiting for.
It really started with Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) a cartographer from what was, back then, the Spanish Netherlands–which is to say he was a Dutchman who had a Spaniard for a king. He was the publisher of the first modern atlas in 1570 so he knew what the continents looked like as much as anyone did then. Here is a map from that atlas:

He published a book on ancient geography in 1587, the Thesaurus Geographicus, then revised it in 1596. Apparently, in that 1596 edition he described America (regarded as one continent back then, not two) as “torn away from Europe and Africa … by earthquakes and floods.” Furthermore: “The vestiges of the rupture reveal themselves, if someone brings forward a map of the world and considers carefully the coasts of the three [continents].”
This is the first known mention of the continents possibly having rifted apart. And it was totally forgotten until the late 20th century.
However, other people had the same thought, among them Theodor Christoph Lilienthal (1756), Alexander von Humboldt (1801 and 1845), Antonio Snider-Pellegrini (1858), and others.
We have an illustration by Pellegrini:

There were arguments among geologists over just how much the Earth had changed culminating in the mid 1800s. I can’t write this better than wikipedia did, so I’ll just paste it in:
In 1889, Alfred Russel Wallace remarked, “It was formerly a very general belief, even amongst geologists, that the great features of the earth’s surface, no less than the smaller ones, were subject to continual mutations, and that during the course of known geological time the continents and great oceans had, again and again, changed places with each other.” He quotes Charles Lyell as saying, “Continents, therefore, although permanent for whole geological epochs, shift their positions entirely in the course of ages.” and claims that the first to throw doubt on this was James Dwight Dana in 1849.
In his Manual of Geology (1863), Dana wrote, “The continents and oceans had their general outline or form defined in earliest time. This has been proved with regard to North America from the position and distribution of the first beds of the Lower Silurian, – those of the Potsdam epoch. The facts indicate that the continent of North America had its surface near tide-level, part above and part below it (p.196); and this will probably be proved to be the condition in Primordial time of the other continents also. And, if the outlines of the continents were marked out, it follows that the outlines of the oceans were no less so”. Dana was enormously influential in America—his Manual of Mineralogy is still in print in revised form—and the theory became known as the Permanence theory.
The Challenger expedition, 1872-1876, showed that rivers dumped their silt–eroded from continents–onto continental shelves, not the deep ocean, which made it appear that oceans were permanent features, not something that could “change places” with the continents.
Eduard Seuss (1831-1914) proposed a supercontinent “Gondwana” (1885) consisting of pretty much all of today’s southern continents, plus India. In fact it was named after the Sanskrit name for a location in India. He also noted that the Mediterranean, Black and Caspian seas, and Indian Ocean may once have been connected; that he named the Tethys Ocean (1893) (it’s often called the Tethys Sea). But Seuss was not a proponent of continental drift. He believed that South America and Africa (and the other present day pieces of Gondwana) had been separated by the land subsiding and being flooded to form oceans. Presumably the dry areas that used to be the Tethys are the result of land that rose at some time in the past.
He brought evidence: Glossopteris (Gk: Tongue fern) was a widely distributed genus of plant across all of the present day southern continents, New Zealand, and India. It lived in the Permian Period (298.8 – 251.902 Ma). [Yowza, thousand year precision for the end of the Permian and Paleozoic!] They appeared to have died out during the Great Dying, the biggest mass extinction event since multicellular life began. (Compared to this, the end of the dinosaurs pales.)
Otto Ampferer (1875-1947) was a geologist who believed that mountains were uplifted by convection in the asthenosphere.
In fact, Ampferer is the real founder of what is called the “modern” view of continental drift, since a lot of his work was done in the 1900s (i.e., the 0s of the 20th century). He even largely won the argument about convection and mountains by 1906–and those concepts would eventually play heavily in modern plate tectonics theory.
Roberto Mantovani between 1889-1909 proposed that the continents had rifted because the Earth had expanded. In other words the Atlantic was basically a stretch mark. (This has long since been recognized to be…well, frankly, ridiculous though Wikipoo just says “now discredited.”)
Frank Bursey Taylor in 1910 proposed “continental creep” caused by tidal forces. He was among the first to realize that continents’ motions could have a lot to do with raising mountains, such as the Himalayas being formed as India and Asia came together. [We now know that India is still moving into Asia; the Himalayas continue to grow as a consequence.]
Then Alfred Wegener (1880-1930) came along, and published in 1912, January 6th of that year to be precise, in a presentation to the German Geological Society. He proposed that all continents, not just the southern ones, had once formed one supercontinent which he called “Pangaea” which had broken up into pieces that had since drifted to their current locations.
Wegener brought a lot of evidence, rock formations from the Permian or Triassic that matched up but were now on separate continents, for instance.
Wegener considered Taylor’s ideas the most similar to his own, and in the mid 20th century for a time you’d hear the term “Taylor-Wegener hypothesis.”
Wegener actually invented the term “continental drift.”
However, despite the evidence which might seem compelling, there was one gigantic fly in the ointment.
Wegener couldn’t explain how this could have happened. What force could possibly plow the continents through oceanic crust? No one had any idea. And unfortunately, this idea was deemed more ridiculous than having to find some other explanation for Wegener’s evidence. (And to be honest, given what they knew, geologists were right to reject it. Continents plowing through ocean floor crust was absurd, and it still is.) Another issue is that he estimated the speed at 2.5 meters per year. This was (and still would be) considered implausibly high, and is about a hundred times faster than what we actually measure today.
Arthur Holmes (1890-1965) in 1931 championed continental drift, when it was profoundly unfashionable. We have him to thank for radiometric dating, but also for suggesting mantle convection as a mechanism. This was the first hint of sea floor spreading.
In 1947, a team led by Maurice Ewing showed that there was a rise in the central Atlantic ocean, based on soundings laboriously collected up to then. They were also the first to note that ocean beds were essentially basaltic rock, unlike continents which were mostly granites. Over the next years, an entire system of mid-oceanic ridges all over the world was found.
Meanwhile, we had noticed magnetic anomalies in the ocean floor, using devices originally designed in World War II to detect submarines. As more and more data was collected, we began to realize that these weren’t “anomalies” at all, but rather formed a pattern. Here’s Wikipedia again:
In a series of papers published between 1959 and 1963, Heezen, Dietz, Hess, Mason, Vine, Matthews, and Morley collectively realized that the magnetization of the ocean floor formed extensive, zebra-like patterns: one stripe would exhibit normal polarity and the adjoining stripes reversed polarity.[58][59][60] The best explanation was the “conveyor belt” or Vine–Matthews–Morley hypothesis. New magma from deep within the Earth rises easily through these weak zones and eventually erupts along the crest of the ridges to create new oceanic crust. The new crust is magnetized by the Earth’s magnetic field, which undergoes occasional reversals. Formation of new crust then displaces the magnetized crust apart, akin to a conveyor belt – hence the name.[61]
Without workable alternatives to explain the stripes, geophysicists were forced to conclude that Holmes had been right: ocean rifts were sites of perpetual orogeny at the boundaries of convection cells.[62][63] By 1967, barely two decades after discovery of the mid-oceanic rifts, and a decade after discovery of the striping, plate tectonics had become axiomatic to modern geophysics.

The plate tectonics revolution is regarded as having occurred between 1957 and 1967.
We now had our mechanism. The continents don’t plow through the ocean floor. Rather, the ocean floor behaves like a conveyor belt; the oceans spread and push the continents ahead of them.
[Technically that’s not quite right–it’s more accurate to say that the ocean floors are pulled along behind the continents–but I’ll have to defer that explanation a bit. Suffice it to say continents don’t plow through ocean floors.]
And it’s not called “continental drift” any more, it’s called “plate tectonics.” Because we have come to realize that the crust of the Earth consists of distinct plates which move around, sometimes spreading from each other at mid-ocean ridges, in other places one plate is being submerged under another.
What does this word “tectonics” actually mean? It’s ultimately from Greek tektonikos, “pertaining to building.” [As an aside, in the original Greek, Jesus is described as a “tekton”, someone who made things with his hands. Not necessarily a carpenter in particular.] As for plates, here are the sixteen principal plates:

Note that most boundaries are in the ocean. Boundaries are drawn in different colors for a reason. Deep red are “spreading centers”–i.e., places with a ridge where magma is surfacing to make ocean crust. The slightly lighter red (e.g., through east Africa) is an “extension zone” though unless the distinction has something to do with mid-ocean ridges, I can’t figure out what the difference is. In both cases spreading is happening. Here’s what they look like in general (this diagram seems to be represending one on a continent, like the rift running through East Africa).

Blue is a subduction zone, where one plate is an ocean floor, and the other is a continent; the ocean floor is subducting under the continent. Notice these on the edges of South America, between the northern pacific and the North American plate at Alaska and the Aleutians; also between the Juan de Fuca plate and the US’s Pacific Northwest, and running through Indonesia and Polynesia. And right through the Mediterranean, too.

What do these places all have in common? Volcanoes!! As it happens, volcanoes are almost always caused by subduction zones. Notable exceptions are Hawaii and Yellowstone. There are also some volcanic islands on mid oceanic ridges, like Iceland, St. Helena, Ascension, Tristan de Cunha in the Atlantic Ocean. Volcanoes form along subduction zones as the ocean plate melts and basaltic magma rises, eventually forcing its way to the surface.
[Please note, Pat, it’s “subduction” not “seduction,” no matter how volcanic those seductions can be when handled correctly.]
The Pacific “Ring of Fire” is now explained; the Pacific ocean is shrinking as continents encroach on it. My childhood book on volcanoes was out of date just a couple of years before I read it.
Subduction zones tend to have the worst earthquakes, e.g., Chile 1960, Alaska 1964, Sumatra 2004, Tohoku 2011 (Fukushima), Kamchatka 1952. These are the five strongest earthquakes in recorded history and all were at least a Richter 9. [Three more earthquakes estimated to be over 9.0 happened in Chile before we had good instruments to measure them; and two more in Kamchatka. A few more with estimated ranges straddling 9.0 happened in those locations, plus one more in Sumatra. Plus, one more, in 1700 in the Pacific Northwest. (This should worry people who live there. A similar quake there now would be the worst natural disaster in US history.)]
One more thing to note about subduction zones. The ocean floor almost always subducts below the continent. Why? Because the ocean floor is mafic or basaltic, and that makes it denser than the continents (I told you the greater density of mafic rocks would turn out to be important). Another detail related to density is the fact that the slope up to a mid-oceanic ridge tends to be fairly gradual, which is to say the ocean drops away from the ridge at a shallow slope. That too is an effect of density; the inside of the ocean floor “slab” is hotter nearer the ridge; that makes the rock take up more volume (solids expand when hot), which makes it less dense; it rides higher on the mantle than does the cooler ocean floor farther away from the ridges (near the continents).
Purple boundaries (note the one along the northern edge of India) are where two continents are colliding; this forces mountains upwards. That diagram above is technically of this case rather than an ocean floor subducting, but the idea is the same. (I don’t know why they don’t show sea floor diagrams in the Wikipoo article, unless they think the “big picture” diagram further down the page covers it. That diagram, alas has other stuff in it I want to cover later, so I didn’t use it; I found a different diagram below
Orange and green boundaries are “dextral” and “sinistral” transverse faults, respectively. These are places where the plates move sideways at the boundary, no encroaching. “Dextral” means if you are standing on one of the two plates looking at the other, it appears to be moving to the right. Sinistral, means the apparent motion is to the left. The San Andreas fault is the most famous of these, and is dextral.

Putting convergent and divergent boundaries together you get something like this: You can think of the ocean as the Pacific, up near Seattle. The plate at the far left is the Pacific plate, the one in the middle, that is subducting, is the Juan de Fuca, and the continent is North America.

Not shown is North America’s eastern edge, where it continues down into an ocean floor; the floor of the Atlantic is attached to the continents surrounding it. Yes, the ocean floor between the mid-Atlantic ridge and the US is part of the North American plate. I found a much smaller diagram of the Atlantic between South America and Africa, which is essentially the same:

Iceland sits directly on the Atlantic ridge, which means part of the island is on the North American plate, and part is on the European plate.

Iceland has a national park, Þingvellir Park (As near as I can tell that’s pronounced “Thing-vet-leer”), and there is actually a rift through the park; in some places it’s filled with water and you can scuba dive in it and put one hand on each side, touching Europe and America.

If you think about it, there are a couple of predictions this theory makes that can be checked.
First, we should be able to measure the motion, and indeed we can. The following is a collection of measurements (that seem to line up along great circles), the longer the arrow the faster the motion.

Second: Ocean floor should be younger than continental rock, because ocean floor is of recent manufacture. And indeed this turns out to be the case; the oldest ocean floor rock we have ever tested (other than the occasional bits of ocean crustal rocks that end up on top of continents) is about 200 million years old, age established by radiometric dating and absolutely no surprise to anyone in the field. Even the pacific floor is new; there are “midocean” ridges making fresh ocean floor in the Pacific, too. (They’re closer to the Americas than to Asia but they are there.)
OK, so the next few times I cover this in more detail.
But here’s a couple of parting shots.
Other worlds have “tectonics” that rework the surface, but not necessarily plate tectonics. Io, for instance just has a lot of volcanic activity and no plates. Venus probably has great episodes of volcanism every few hundred million years (based on counting how many craters it has unit area; a way of dating planetary and moon surfaces). Even ice moons like Europa and Enceladus can have tectonics of some sort or another.
I mentioned that the Atlantic is spreading at about 2.5 centimeters a year–this is based on GPS measurements. It’s commonly compared to how fast your fingernails grow.
How long has this been going on? 2.5 centimeters is an inch; so the Atlantic widens by a foot every 12 years, or a mile every 60,000 years (I’m rounding here because the original yearly number is itself not very precise). The Atlantic is very roughly 3,000 miles wide, so that should be…180,000,000 years to have attained its current width. And wouldn’t you know, that’s the early Jurassic, about when the rocks indicate the split happened between South America and Africa based on dating those rocks. So we have two totally different lines of evidence pointing to roughly the same time for that event.

Here is an article about the so-called Planet Nine:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-14659793/scientists-discover-planet-nine-edge-solar-system.html
I’ve been watching the (new) Planet Nine stuff.
As I pointed out, if Pluto is a planet so are at least half a dozen other snowy dirtballs out there.
Emerson!!!
It’s stupid to call “Planet 9” “Planet X” when that could Clearly mean “Planet 10″…
You may have a logical argument but Pluto the planet lives in many of our hearts!!!
X for unknown.
In any case, some think Pluto’s something cooler than another planet but rather the “founder” of a whole new category of things.
I’m about ready to simply ditch the word planet entirely, and go with labels like “gas giants,” etc. There’s four broad classes of objects in the Solar System (other than the Sun of course). Give each of them names, maybe add an adjective meaning it orbits another object not the sun (i.e., what we now call moons), and be done with it.
the gas giants are all in Congress Steve.
Indeed.
But I am pretty sure the Founders didn’t planet that way.
Yep. They would have been writing their own orbituary…
you’re clever too!
clever!

In the world of my past experience, unknown in data sets was listed as “UNK”.
Different conventions in different communities; the astronomers are going to go with what they learned in algebra class.
Good point. On reflection, I think the data sets I remember were FIB counterterrorism.
Which could lead to the man from UNKle
Or possibly even total KAOS.
Makes sense to me
“‘He renamed a Gulf and the Astronomer who discovered Pluto was American. Seems like America has jurisdiction on things outside its borders,’ Shatner explained on X.”
_____________
Indeed we do… our jurisdiction extends all the way to Pluto… and beyond…
Shatner is also the man who sponsored western show classes for Saddlebreds.
A colt that I bred, won the state championship in the western classes. Since Saddlebreds have very smooth gaits they make very comfortable western show horses.
My Quarter horse was a cement mixer and it was painful to try and sit her SLOW trot. Mean while my colt’s mom was so smooth you could easily sit her fastest trot.
BTW that colt was VERY, VERY Smart and could actually PLAN ahead.
I watched him open his stall door, turn right and open his sister’s stall door. He then turned left, walked passed his stall and grabbed the 3 electric wire fence handles one at a time and stretch them out to the side so he would not step on them. After that he lead his sister out into the pasture to play.
….
You can find a lot of X-Thoroughbred race horses and lots of Quarter horses at horse auctions. However you will rarely find a Saddlebred because the Amish snap them up. I was told by the training stables that the Saddlebreds that do not make the cut as show horses are directly shipped to Amish & Mennonite country and sold. That is why you never see them as pleasure mounts for kids. I find that sad because they are a much better choice. They are calm, smooth, intelligent and people friendly. After my first Saddlebred, I never bought anything else.
So very interesting–TY for sharing!
Ribbit.
Hi guys a drive by comment…I’m really exhausted & desperately need a shower & sleep.
Friday morning at 10:15am my mother died at the local hospital in their home city, the hospital where she worked as an RN for many years & my youngest 3 children were born.
She was taken by ambulance unresponsive on Thursday late night & several tests revealed a perforated bowel with such a larger perforation that it would not close on its own. There were two options, a risky surgery w/ at best a 20% survival rate & eventual return to her status of the last week, where she was largely completely dependent on others & could barely speak & only intermittently walk with help.
The other choice was “comfort care” & the removal of the supportive systems that been instituted in the ER, ventilator & various IV meds to stabilize her. If there was such a choice made it was expected she would not last the day due to septic shock & organ failure.
My dad, brother Mike, & EMT son Brandon were there in the room with her & I was on speaker phone for the deliberations, having been on the phone with my dad & Mike since maybe 5:30am. I asked if they could make an attempt to see if she was able to communicate in any way what she preferred, to fight a dangerous battle, or to be let go of life. She was unable to respond to multiple approaches & people.
I was supposed to be my parents’ health proxy though we’d never formalized the set-up and would only step in if they were unable to speak for themselves. Dad made the final call after my brother had asked the surgeon what he would do if faced with such a choice.
The comfort care route was chosen & they offered to delay that process until I could arrive at That hospital in 1-1/2 hours or so, or for anyone else to be there. I didn’t want to put my dad through such a delay so said that needed to proceed when ready.
I was on a public house phone by the elevators on Josiah’s floor when they removed the ventilator & about 15 minutes later my daughter Clarissa arrived & we were able to call Brandon’s cell from hers & she & I & her 2 year old daughter Lillian entered an empty “family waiting room” where it could reduce ambient noise & have some privacy. I stepped away for the restroom & returned a couple minutes later for Clarissa to say “Grandma’s heart just stopped” there were several minutes before the doctor arrived to pronounce death…
Bottom line I am now home for about a half hour so far, will shower & rest, & interface with my husband then try to assist Dad with funeral arrangements, casket choice etc.
Clarissa with go be with Josiah for some hours tomorrow & his wife & in-laws met us at the elevators as were were leaving. They also plan to be with J again tomorrow. Both J’s brothers will help as they are able but B is going on his 24 hour firefighter shift after a stint of maybe 48 hours w/out almost any sleep.
Josiah is as prepared as he can be to be alone at the hospital for multiple hours at a time. I’ve informed staff, nurses, & assistants of his anticipated needs but have done such things in the past w/ little to no “promised’ follow-through on his needs. He is prepared for me to be gone up to 2 nights to “handle Grandpa” and spend time with Michael. He is still having electrolyte issues, some blood in the stool, & to get another CT, probably tomorrow. He’s trending better but probably not less than 3 days from discharge by My estimation, as staff always dodge any guesstimates I prompt.
We’re playing all of this by ear.
Thank you for continuing to pray.
They changed Josiah’s diet to full liquid from clear liquid at some point but we didn’t know. His sister was a big help in labeling the various cups on his bedside tray so Josiah knows what liquid he’s picking up. Hopefully he’ll manage to become more of a self-advocate while I’m away (he’s made some reported strides when I was out of the room for many hours yesterday, which is a good start) & any of the family who step in to assist will learn how to help with his needs in my absence.
The cottage is where we would stay for Mom’s burial as my parents have chosen the Gaylord cemetery containing 4 generations of family on my dad’s side so…we’ll see what happens…I won’t go Up North without Josiah out of the hospital & cleared for such activity. Some rough waters yet ahead…
Valerie, I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. She’s in God’s arms now. I’ll continue to pray for you and Josiah and your whole family as you go through this.
TY so much Linda. We have that peace so definitely do not sorrow as those who have no hope. Dad was telling us about their engagement story as he held her lifeless hand & he reminisced about a 7 decade love story…
“A 7 decade love story…”
How wonderful. It sounds like your mother lived a very long life. And now she is at peace with Jesus.
I pray Josiah gets all he needs while you are doing what you have to do. Maybe God will send an angel. He does that sometimes
Amen!
Amen Aubergine,
His male nurse for much of yesterday was a clear Believer who was so understanding, compassionate, & sensitive. He took the time to show us some of Josiah’s lab numbers on the room computer & explain the significance of the trends & hiccups. He was actually incredibly affirming of me in a way that kind of gave me “permission” to be where & who I was rather unapologetically. He was willing to go to bat to see if it would be possible for Josiah to be taken out of the room with his sister & niece if they could adequately mask & gown him up due to “droplet protocols” & find a way to either suspend the cardiac telemetry or have it made portable. I really don’t think they’re going to let Josiah out of his room until he goes home, other than for hospital purposes, like the CT scan.
Speaking of angels, the same woman who encountered me on the hospital phone when they were pulling supportive measures from my mother (she got me a box of tissues & a cup of water) just “happened” to be there as Clarissa & I were Finally leaving the hospital. We recognized each other & all 3 of us (& Lillian) took the elevator from 7 to 2.
I was able to thank her for her care for me earlier when I was in the midst of an emotionally intense experience being played out quite publicly due to the phone situation, I wasn’t her patient yet she made it sound like Anyone would have acted with compassion seeing someone in that state. I’m pretty sure We All Know that not just “anyone” will be compassionate. Turns out that she is a nurse practitioner & I was able to affirm her & that profession at large as we’ve worked with 3 different NPs over the years on Josiah’s case & they were often the most helpful, sensitive, caring, & providing more whole person, including family & other dynamics, care. She said that NPs are allowed more patient time than are the doctors, so she implied it Might be a matter of more time but it’s way More than that!
You’ve been blessed. It’s good that you see the blessings when they come. So many people miss them. Hugs from a distance!
That made me smile. Thanks A! God’s been buoying me up
You are in all of our prayers.
And your family too.
Especially your father and Josiah in the days to come.
Heavenly Father,
Wrap your comforting love around each member of Valerie’s family.
Grant Valerie peace, grace and strength for her days.
Thank you so much GudThots. That is much needed. God Bless YOU!

Thank you for your prayers for we all Need such covering going forward. God Bless YOU!
Ugh.
My condolences. May she Rest In Peace.
Thank you Steve. We KNOW that she is at peace in Paradise. It is a blessed comfort that some day I hope & pray that you may come to experience, in Jesus’ Love
I Still want to hug You in that sweet bye & bye (or is it by & by)…I bet You know the correct grammar on that one
From my old roommate’s best friend’s band perhaps the “correct” version
Seven decade love story. Celebrate the great times.
Condolences in these difficult times.
Beautifully said. Thank you Kalbo! God Bless YOU
Valerie, I am very sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to get some rest. You and Josiah and your family are in my prayers.
Thank you Scott, these thoughts & prayers are much appreciated! I got to sleep in my own bed for some hours last night at least. God is good. We’ll be helping him (edit–my dad) with funeral & casket selection in an hour. My brother is with him right now.
So sorry to hear this, Valerie. You have my sympathy and continued prayers for your family. If it’s any comfort, I think you all have been doing the right thing at every step of the way here. Your whole family is showing incredible strength in the face of incredible adversity, and clearly God is with you! May your mother experience the joy of being with the Lord now! Our prayers continue!
Thanks Wolf. This is an incredible encouragement. Your prayers are indeed coveted! God Bless YOU so very much. Thank you for creating a haven for us to be able to care for each other as we care for our nation & world. This is True Body Ministry
Wolf, just a while ago Michael gave me such a deep affirmation that basically he’d seen me demonstrate Every Fruit of the Spirit in this process. He said he’d never heard me complain & seen me being joyful even in the midst of these tremendous sorrows. I’m like even if I rarely get to church it’s good to know that you can still see Christ in me
We are glorifying the Lord, as best as we can, every excruciating step of the way.
My other two sons came to Josiah’s hospital room while Clarissa & Lillian were still there later in the day that my mom died. Nathaniel, my oldest son, was starting to say something about how glad he was that his daughters got to be with Grandma & then just broke down sobbing & we held each other both crying for some time. None of us have Ever seen him that way. We are not a crying nor emotionally overblown family, but loud, boisterous, with irreverent off-beat humor, & deep abidingly rock-solid biblically grounded faith but wow all of this is taking all the family dynamics to a whole new level.
When this storm is over, we can discuss some things I’m learning from your experiences. Until then, I will hold fast in prayer and thanksgiving! God is with us!
TY Wolf. I’m glad that the Lord is speaking to you through our storm. As we are “suffering” a season of layered challenges we are still attempting to glorify Him “in the trials AND triumphs of life”. Hoping some triumphs soon
In fact after about 4 hours of funeral planning with Dad’s late hunting buddy’s, died last Fall, funeral director daughter, Michael & I went out to eat with Dad just down the road at a hole in the wall Arabic restaurant (I just had half of my leftovers I was going to eat “with” Michael around 7 but ended up eating around 1am with all the calls & emails & Josiah & Mom communications required…sigh) that my brother had used to cater his oldest daughter’s wedding, great food btw.
Anyway this young very pleasant likely Muslim man was our server & we were the only customers in the restaurant. We finished eating & he’d never brought the bill yet even as we all packed leftovers for later (no on had a big appetite after details on burying Mom). He said he hadn’t wanted to interrupt us because it looked like we were having such a good time!
I told him that my mother had died the day before & we were all very tired after planning her funeral, etc. but had tremendous peace. There is ZERO CHANCE he had Any clue that we were Very Recently Bereaved people. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Anyway I shared a brief Gospel perspective about us not grieving like those who have no hope. We KNOW that Mom is with the Lord & encountering Love & Joy forever more.
However we are a story telling family & we ALL LOVE the Hunting Camp (including the Shack & recent acquisition “Hilton”) though me from afar & them as hunters. Michael was telling my dad about having our boys & Nathaniel’s BIL, whose now-deceased father never took him hunting & who will likely become yet another “son” of the heart that my Hubby mentors in Christ & life….Anyway Josh was newly on a hunt with the guys having been set up near where Nathaniel had a tree stand & Brandon was passing through on the way to his hunting hole. While traversing the area he encounters a large pile of human waste that’s not very far from N’s tree stand & asks what the heck that’s all about. Josh pipes up from pretty close by that he really had to go so basically just dropped a load in someone else’s hunting zone. Brandon, later, decides Josh needs a hunting nickname & proposes “Mud Flap” for rather obvious reasons. Now all three of us are laughing so hard we’re crying because Michael is like “We can’t call the new guy Mud Flap” due to the fecal faux pas but I’m like “you can’t Ever call him Anything else but this!’ My dad is having the time of his life because that’s the kind of crazy crap, in this case literally, that makes up our family & is entirely apropos in that “North of Bay City” hunting camp!
We appreciate your prayers more than I can say!!! Bless you Big Time, Big Brother-in-Christ!
btw my dad finally told his sister & only sibling about Mom after I replied to an emailed prayer request about health needs in her family & alluded to crises in ours that she needed to speak to Bill about. They had a 2 hour conversation as now both widowed siblings…thankfully she’s a strong Believer too & will plan to attend Mom’s funeral at least.
My deepest sympathies Valerie!! Your family is going through so much at one time! I pray you find comfort among your family, time for some rest for you, and the strength to soldier through for your father and son. I hope at some point, you will find peace.
Thank you so much Pat. I am already finding peace & technically have had peace throughout this process. Yesterday Clarissa said that I didn’t look like I’d been 36 hours without sleep, well not until I “hit a wall” & had to sleep about an hour before I could even leave. It’s some interesting times to be sure. Much Love to YOU! TY
i know you’re busy with everything right now…but if or when you want to talk…you know where we are!
That’s very sweet–TY. I’ll try to drop updates periodically but so far I’ve barely had time to read Anything at the Q-Tree & might be going into withdrawal LOL
We were with my dad for more than 8 hours with funeral arrangements, a meal, searching for the selected jewelry for her final outfit (we still never found that box my brother had before the funeral home meeting), & even getting some of Mom’s things, like diabetes stuff, before heading home exhausted…
PRAYING FOR YOU –
IT’S CALLED CALM
It’s called calm and cost me many storms.
It’s called calm and when it disappears … I go out searching for it again.
It’s called calm and teaches me to breathe, to think and rethink.
It’s called calm and when madness tempts it are unleashed brave winds difficult to dominate.
It’s called calm and it comes with the years when the ambition of youth, the loose tongue and the cold belly give place to more silences and wisdom.
It’s called calm when we learn to love, when selfishness gives place to giving and nonconformity fades to open heart and soul, surrendering completely, to whoever wants to receive and give.
It’s called calm when friendship is so sincere that all the masks fall down and everything can be told.
It is called calm and the world evades it, ignores it, inventing wars that nobody will ever win.
It’s called calm when the silence is enjoyed, when the noises are not only music and madness but the wind, the birds, the good company or the noise of the sea.
It’s called calm and with nothing can be paid, there is no coin of any color that can cover its value when it becomes a reality.
It’s called calm and it cost me a lot of storms and I would go through it a thousand times more until I found it again.
It’s called calm, I enjoy it, I respect it and I don’t want to let it go…”

LET GO AND LET GOD
From where did this concept come
Made up to release us say some
From what are we excused
How are we to be recused
If we can do nothing without God
Then letting go would be flawed
Truth be told on your own power
Eternal value will not flower
Are we so bold as to take credit
From He whose Spirit led it
Can we bring forth fruit from effort
Is it possible to accomplish befort
Letting go does not mean sitting back
Allowing God to take up the slack
Acknowledging His power to ease
Waiting for God to appease
If apart from Him we can do nothing
Then how do we accomplish something
We claim we are doing it for Him
How empty is this thoughtless whim
If we lean not on our own understanding
We open up to God’s mind-expanding
If we trust in God with all of our heart
Then we acknowledge Him from the start
We see His part in all of our ways
We need Him for all of our days
For without Him we will surely fail
In all we try we are beyond the pale
So what then are we letting go
Are we letting God manage the show
The struggle the strife of the fight
Are we attempting to take flight
If we are his hands and feet on earth
Are we missing the point of our worth
Can we operate alone in tact
Then go to God after the fact
So is letting God and letting go
Mean we play no part in the show
How can His kingdom ever come
If we let go before the job is done
What is it God wants us to do
What job has God given to you
What is it He commands
What is it God demands
Has He ever said you are on your own
I am here if you need Me on My throne
No He said Follow Me
And Be the Best you can be
Love Me with Mind, Heart, and Soul
Love your neighbor and be whole
Nothing is impossible for Me
Trust in Me and you will see
Let go of your arrogance and pride
Let Me live and in you abide
My Spirit will guide you throughout
Show you what My will is all about
So let go and let Me show you the way
The truth and the light when you pray
Acknowledge Me in all that you do
Allow Me the pleasure of seeing you thru

I appreciate this encouragement, Thank you Duchess
Thank you so much. I am so thankful for your prayers AND your Very Faithful Ministry to the Q-Tree family throughout the years. You consistently remind us to keep our feet firmly planted on the Rock that is Christ Jesus! God Bless YOU!!!
Amen!!!
Amen Trade Bait I concur & receive these specific prayers. God’s getting us through! May the Lord continue to bless you & your family & keep inspiring you for the Wonderful Posts you bless us all with!!! In Christ’s love, from a fellow special needs warrior, I don’t know or share the exact specifics, but that special needs path (AND pain) I know to the bone. Even as my daughter & I were leaving the hospital she said she hasn’t been shaped by being a special needs parent but she’s walked her own unique path as a special needs sibling & now a staff for her brother & when she’s on the clock she is focused on him & his needs differently & more intensely than just when they are being siblings. It’s a Beautiful thing to behold!
Life can toss a lot at you fast. Sounds like you and the family responded well. Condolences for your mother and prayers for your Mother, Josiah and the rest of the family.
My mother once had a perforated bowel. It was discovered after second hospital visit and was determined to have been caused by one of those colonoscopy procedures. Personally doesn’t trust them as I remain ignorant on the subject.
Before resorting to a colonoscopy, I recommend a test like Cologuard. It’s simple, done at home, and might keep you from this risk.
https://www.colonoscopyassist.com/Cologuard.html
Yes, see my reply to Para
Bingo
Came to that conclusion soon after I learned how simple Cologuard is.
I bet it’s cheaper too so they probably don’t recommend it first
Oh Para I’m so sorry about what your mother went through. I hope she was able to heal. My mother was in the ER on Monday night & we don’t know if the bowel issue was present then. My EMT son said that IF they drew labs it probably should have been seen that way, but we just don’t know. It’s a difficult sequence of events & second-guessing won’t change where we are.
I doubt I’ll ever get a colonoscopy just because. The doctor ordered the “poop in a box” test for me but who has time for That!!! LOL
Thank you so much for your prayers. They are really helping to sustain us. Blessings!
That “poop in a box” test might save your life! And it takes hardly any time at all, seriously. Super easy to do.
Yes – it’s a great alternative.
I’ll get there eventually
Don’t wait too long. I have known several people with colon cancer in their early forties. The modern diet is poison.
TY A
Oh my! I’ve always wondered about those colonoscopies
Valerie Curren
I’m so sorry about the loss of your mother. My heart goes out to all of you.
You and your family have been hit with multiple difficult things to deal with.
Sincere and deep Condolences to you and the family. May you find Deep Comfort.
Sending continued prayers, Good Energy, and Deep Healing for your son.
Please take care of yourself and get some rest.
God bless your father and the decades-long love between your parents.
Men are supposed to be “stoic” and “carry on” in circumstances like losing their spouse.
But even if they don’t show it, the surviving widower will still feel the loss, the grief, the sorrow — inside.
“But even if they don’t show it, the surviving widower will still feel the loss, the grief, the sorrow — inside.”
THIS. So important. He will need his family to stick close to him. I am completely convinced that my granddad died of grief after my grandma died. He lasted nine months without her.
Aubergine
Yes.
I am convinced that my father died of grief / remorse / sorrow after my mother died. He became silent and sad, then withdrawn, then sick, then his remaining health went downhill. Took 12 years.
It is my eternal burden that I did not recognize the symptoms soon enough, that I was too preoccupied with my own family, that I finally “woke up” to what was going on — but it was too late.
I didn’t catch it either. We just can’t do or see or prevent everything. God has His plans. I trust Him.
When Mom died (62) I made sure I drove from Boston Ma to NJ every weekend to see my Dad for the first 6 months or so. Winter conditions made it a bit too hazardous after that.
I bet your dad really appreciated your visits too.
Amen. Not easy (for me) to not second-guess though…
I don’t think that’s easy for any of us humans.
Absolutely
Please don’t accept false guilt in your father’s decline & death. I understand that many surviving spouses go within the year of their beloved’s death and your dad had 12 more years. My own great-grandparents, Dad’s mom’s parents, died within a year of each other, Great-Grandpa presumably dying of a broken heart
As we were leaving Dad’s house about a half hour ago he was on the neighbor’s porch telling them about Mom. The wife was sobbing as he shared & the husband had such a gentle compassionate look. Dad wasn’t crying when we went to say bye but he has alternated between gentle tears & boisterous laughter as we’ve spent the day taking care of business & reminiscing together.
Dad’s dad was a widower for a decade. I remember how the first year the few times we saw him he would end up having tears even praying over a meal. It always blew my teenage mind to see Grandpa like that for he was such a gruff, stern man with a serious twinkle in his eye. All of them storytellers…
When my daughter Clarissa & her 2 year old daughter were participating via speaker phone in my mother’s last moments Lillian was apparently audible to the other hospital. Thankfully she wasn’t afraid to see both her mother & only living grandmother with tears coursing down our faces. She was being just cuteness & curiosity herself. They could hear her across the miles in that countdown to eternity process. She would randomly go “shoes” and “belly button” & other silly or in the moment things. Apparently her childlike innocence & newness of life was a joyful addition as Mom was departing this earth for Heaven’s shores. God is so good…
Yes, He is.
Aubergine, I feel like you are giving me a hug just by reading along with this journey…Thank You!
Thank you PAVACA. We spent most of the day with my father, partially with my brother, as we made arrangements at the funeral home. At one point Dad said that before my mom died as she was laying on the hospital bed (not sure if this was before or after the decision for “comfort care” was made) he had to still be his impish self. He had been laboring to get even a few morsels of food in her mouth for several days. She’d accept water from a straw but he had to dribble it in but when he attempted food she would usually clamp her mouth shut and refuse but if he managed to get the tiniest amount in there she would work it over for minutes but almost never swallow, which was a real pain for getting pills down.
Anyway my mom was nearly comatose before the ambulance came where suddenly she had no neck control, her eyes were open but not tracking, & her mouth was gaping open. That didn’t really change until the end. So this was probably before the ventilator. Anyway Dad said that he went up & gently tapped her nose and something about Now he could finally get a bite in her mouth.
He acknowledged that it was probably not that appropriate in the moment but he had to be himself. Honestly, if my mom had any awareness of that at all she was probably giggling inside. As deep as they both have been about things of the Lord they have also always been playfully silly, & were kind of always High School Sweethearts.
Song from the Righteous Brothers to comfort you in your deep loss
TY Firefly for that gift of sorrow, inspiring the deepest tears I’ve cried thus far, as I hear that song as if my parents might be singing it to each other. I need another kleenex
I sent your song & this one to my dad in email today–thanks again!
AND a comment that resonates & reminds us to seize the day!
@jamiemueller18812 years ago
I lived a mile from Blues Alley. One of my colleagues, a fellow teacher, moonlighted there as a bartender. Every day she would tell me, “You have to come by and hear this extraordinary woman; she has the most amazing voice I’ve ever heard. Please come!” Busy year. Busy woman. To my lasting chagrin, I did not. That extraordinary singer was, of course, Eva and she died that year from cancer. So when I hear her sing, I ache with the loss of her and the lost opportunities I squandered. I tell my students this story and urge them to never turn down an invitation to hear a writer, singer, or artist share their work. Time is fleeting and we get only a few such golden opportunities. I’m playing this for them today.
I was saddened to hear the news. May Heaven’s love and comfort surround your family, particularly your dad, during this time of grief. May you receive special comfort by the saints around you.
This is so appreciated Robert. We have been losing Mom in fits & starts but most precipitously this year. Dad has charted her slipping away into almost nothing recognizable of herself the last few weeks. She still responded to his voice & touch except at the very end when they sought her input on the path which she couldn’t give. The Lord is with us all & we are leaning on each other in sorrow mixed with joy.
Deepest condolences
Thank you, Kea. I had my mother longer than either of my parents had theirs. My husband had my mother longer than he had his own mother. She will be missed
Hugs
Back atcha
I’m sorry, Valerie, my condolences for your family, keep leaning on God. Lots of love to you

Thank you Happy. We are finding that the Lord is our Shepherd in a completely new way. We’ve been grieving her in stages since shortly after Christmas when she was still mostly herself. Thankfully she was here at Easter & we got a picture of the whole family & all her descendants through me. She couldn’t make Mother’s Day, the day before Josiah’s endoscopic procedure, but Michael & I stopped by with pizza, homemade cookies, a card, & a token gift. We also brought Sweet Violet jelly my daughter had made from the bounty of her yard. I was so Thankful to know that Mom had a few tastes of this never experienced before flavor before the end. I kissed her & told her I loved her but can’t remember if she was even able to speak then. It was the last time I was in her presence, next to be at “visitation”. I wish Josiah’s medical situation was happening at any other time than this…but here we are…doing the best we can in an imperfect world as imperfect people with a Perfect Loving Heavenly Father to help see us through…
My condolences to you and your family. I echo all the things others have said and am praying for your comfort, strength, and rest. Your family watches out for one another, and that’s good because your dad will need help and company whether he appears to or not. May God bless you all.

Amen TT, we’ve already been talking about taking turns spending time with Dad/Grandpa, inviting him for dinner. My husband & I took him out to eat after making the funeral arrangements with my parents’ Goddaughter, Dad’s longtime hunting buddy’s daughter who lost her dad last fall. It was such a bittersweet blessing to share this with her. She said with deep sincerity what an honor it was to care for my mom through this time. She tasked her best funeral techs in preparing my mother’s body. She is being loved to the very end of her earthly journey.
Thank you for continuing to pray for us. Josiah’s fever was up a bit this evening but they have advanced him to soft foods after only about a day on full liquids so he’s seemingly trending in the right direction, PTL. God is good & getting us through…
TY Bill that is very much appreciated!!! Blessings
God bless all of you. ♥️
Thank you Bill, He Is & He’s helping us get through it all. Blessings!
My deepest condolences, Valerie. In my prayers.
Thanks “Kitty” so needed now–Blessings!
Here’s how I signed the guestbook on her Funeral Home obit:
My mother Elaine was a beautiful woman who had all the qualities a loving & godly wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, friend, & sister-in-Christ should have. Few could live up to the high standard she set in how she lived her life & how she loved those she encountered in small & large ways. As her only daughter I can truly marvel at how she was fearfully & wonderfully made by the Lord & gifted to her family for more than three quarters of a century.
I am wired quite differently than my mother in many respects so that we both complimented & clashed with each other from time to time. I am overjoyed to see her various shining traits springing forth in the generations that follow where all of her biological descendants, of age, as well as her step grand-children & great-grandchildren of the heart have chosen to follow Christ Jesus in salvation, faith, & Christian living. We hope & pray for any remaining loved ones who have not yet chosen Jesus as Savior that they might be brought closer to God’s Kingdom in celebrating Mom’s life. Mom’s gifts in music, cooking, & caring for the needs of others are lived out in divergently unique ways in her myriad descendants. What a mysterious joy to watch this continuously unfold!
Mom gave of herself to nearly everyone she met in small & large ways. She was a listening ear, a compassionate soul, a tenderhearted communicator, a fierce prayer warrior, a playful companion, a feisty competitor, and so much more. It is Impossible to encapsulate a life but Mom surely lived and loved one of the best lives a person could have on this earth.
We were blessed to have her here for as long as we did. We are blessed who carry her genetics into the future. We are blessed to have known her personally and intimately on so many levels. We are blessed by her many prayers over many years that will continue to bear fruit, even eternally. We were blessed by her example as a wife, mother (in various stages across generations), Christian, and friend. She will be mightily missed & never completely forgotten on Earth by those who knew her in this life.
Please, if you have not yet done so, Choose Christ for yourself so that you may also rejoice with us in Heaven when your time too comes to leave this mortal plane/plain(?). Mom has cast off suffering & is living eternally in the Presence of God, Love, Light, Peace, Joy, and so much more. Further up and further in!
Her children will rise up and call her blessed, as will her husband in love (personal scripture paraphrase) and God will wipe away all tears & there will be no more sorrow or suffering for the former things have passed away & behold all things have been made new!
Enter into that eternal rest precious beloved Elaine Elizabeth (baby girl Bluemly) Koski Stoddard
https://www.griffinfuneralhome.com/obituary/elaine-stoddard
Here’s how I signed the funeral home guestbook with Mom’s adoption story:
Hello, this is Elaine’s daughter Valerie again to share a bit about Elaine’s adoption story*******
Elaine was born to unwed teenage parents Avis Bertha Bluemly and Robert David Mellinger. Avis was sent to live with a Detroit-area doctor, friend of the family, to have the baby away from the small, tight knit Ionia County community where she’d lived. Robert’s family provided some financial support for her care. Elaine’s original birth certificate said “baby girl Bluemly” for her name with a thick, black crossing out of what might have been a prior name given her. I haven’t yet attempted electronic manipulation of the birth certificate copy to see if what’s hidden might be revealed*******
Avis’ doctor was also connected to Elaine’s adoptive mother, Marie Koski (born Mathilda “Tilly” Marie Kangas) & Grandma Koski either cleaned house for this doctor (called Dr. Hammer?) or her close friend or relative did. I don’t believe Grandma ever conceived any of her own children & she & Grandpa John Emmanuel Koski had already adopted the son of John’s troubled sister Aili, William Maynard Koski. Maynard was treated poorly by the insular immigrant Finnish community where they’d lived in the Upper Peninsula so when it became known that this teenage mother’s baby would be available Marie faked a pregnancy so no would would disparage This child like they did her son/nephew. Only one close female relative knew of the deception & Elaine was able to speak with her in later years about events after Marie’s death*******
A private adoption was arranged & John & Marie became Elaine Elizabeth Koski’s parents. About 60 years later Valerie did genealogy research & inadvertently made contact with the Bluemly family when Avis was laid to rest in the family plot in Ionia County Michigan. Mom & Valerie met several birth cousins & one who also claimed that she was actually Avis’ other child but had been raised by Avis’ sister Doris. We also thankfully met Avis’ sister Nila before she passed*******
Bluemlys told us that Avis always looked at Robert as “the love of her life” & was very sorry the family wouldn’t let her teenage self keep their baby. She even snuck around Koski’s Detroit home & saw Elaine as a toddler. Avis’ baby was a closely guarded secret within the Bluemly family & warmly embraced when discovered & reunited*******
We also met several of Robert’s relatives before they passed, siblings & more, & 2 of his daughters. Robert’s signature on the birth certificate confirmed the truth of a lifelong hidden secret child. Elaine maintained contact with these half-sisters & they have enriched each other’s lives*******
Baby Girl Bluemly became Elaine Elizabeth Koski Stoddard & was loved by All of her families both natural, chosen, & those of the family of God. What an adventurous, twisty, joyful, unexpected, godly, loving, and fulfilled Life!*******
WWII vets: Avis in Army WACS & Robert in Marines in Pacific theater; we honor their service & their sacrificial gifts of Life, Love & Longing–Elaine!
Democrat Kleptocrat Oligarchs
Democrat Kleptocrats
Betrayal & Crime
In halls of power, where trust is sworn,
Where oaths to serve the people are born,
A shadow creeps, a serpent’s coil,
Devouring honor, reaping spoil.
Democrat pols, in sin’s embrace,
With honeyed words and smiling face,
Are wolves in suits, with hearts of stone,
Who claim the public’s wealth their own.
Elected by the hopeful throng,
Who trusted them to right the wrong,
They pledged to serve with humble might,
To guard the day, to shield the night.
But once they sit in marble towers,
They trade their trust for corrupt powers,
And weave the web of lies they planned
To plunder gold from every hand.
Democrat Kleptocrats
Foundations & PACs
Their schemes are vast, their methods sly,
They spin their tales to lull the eye.
Through their foundations, funds flow free,
A corrupt plan, a stealing spree.
These “charities,” with noble names,
Are but facades for crooked games,
Where millions flow, unchecked, unseen,
To private coffers, lush and green.
Political PACs, their theft device,
A legal shield for avarice.
Super PACs, with boundless sums,
From donors dark, where no light comes.
They twist the law to skirt the line,
No trace of guilt, no clear design,
Yet money moves, from PAC to kin,
A quiet theft, a mortal sin.
To be continued . . .
Thank You Carl!

For the seven frauds on the (not)Supreme Court, this woman’s blood is on your hands, but it’s your faces that ought to be rubbed in it.
The murder took place on May 2nd.
Treason Media has been hiding it ever since.
.
Impeach the seven idiot assholes on SCOTUS, and replace them with this lady’s family members.
AMEN.
It is well past time that we in this country start treating people who act like animals…like animals.
𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗗 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗦
Yeah.

I have to admit I am tired of hearing people screech “Impeachment” when we goddamnfucking well know that the Senate will never vote to convict.
fine. make the PROCESS the PUNISHMENT!
pick the weakest link and pounce! they know they will survive impeachment, so you dig and you dig and unearth all the unseemly dirt that they have hidden and bring it to life till the weak one cries uncle. then you stop and say NEXT!
Exactly. The process is the punishment.
Take Roberts. He’s a good person, who says all the right things when talking about the job and the Constitution, etc., when talking to the public, but he has failed to do his duty to protect the country. Because he’s weak, he fails, but he’s also vulnerable to impeachment in ways that Trump was not.
The man needs to do his job, or be rebuked publicly for not doing it.
Loads of replies to this Galloway post.

✟
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Galatians 6:7 (KJV)
COMMENTARY FOR GALATIANS 6
(6-11) “Many excuse themselves from the work of religion, though they may make a show, and profess it. They may impose upon others, yet they deceive themselves if they think to impose upon God, who knows their hearts as well as actions; and as he cannot be deceived, so he will not be mocked. Our present time is seed time; in the other world we shall reap as we sow now. As there are two sorts of sowing, one to the flesh, and the other to the Spirit, so will the reckoning be hereafter. Those who live a carnal, sensual life, must expect no other fruit from such a course than misery and ruin. But those who, under the guidance and influences of the Holy Spirit, live a life of faith in Christ, and abound in Christian graces, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. We are all very apt to tire in duty, particularly in doing good. This we should carefully watch and guard against. Only to perseverance in well-doing is the reward promised. Here is an exhortation to all to do good in their places. We should take care to do good in our life-time, and make this the business of our lives. Especially when fresh occasions offer, and as far as our power reaches.”
Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

(this is a summary, there’s lots more in that and other articles):
OCCULT HOLIDAYS AND SABBATS
As we have repeatedly stated, the Satanist believes that numbers contain inherent power. Thus, they literally order their lives by occult numerology — such numerology also is a key component in astrology, another system of divining that Satanists observe very closely. The occult calendar is divided into four (4) segments of 13 weeks each. The number, “13” is considered divine by the occultist for a couple of reasons:
1. The Bible assigns ’13’ the meaning of “rebellion against constituted authority”, plus the depravity that caused Satan to rebel against God.
2. The occultist assigns ‘6’ to represent the number of man, and the number ‘7’ to represent the number of divine perfection. Thus, as a person climbs that “Jacob’s Ladder” toward self-perfection in the realm of the occult, the number ’13’ represents the state of divine perfection, self-achieved perfection, and Illumination (6+7 = 13).
Thus, the occult calendar is comprised of four periods of 13 weeks each. We list these periods for you, below. Then, after listing them, we shall come back to talk about each of them in detail.
This, in addition to what Scripture says, is why I want nothing to do with numerology or the games people play with it.

HYMN
For the fruits of His creation,
Thanks be to God.
For His gifts to every nation,
Thanks be to God.
For the plowing, sowing, reaping,
silent growth while we are sleeping,
future needs in earth’s safekeeping,
Thanks be to God.
In the just reward of labor,
God’s will is done.
In the help we give our neighbor,
God’s will is done.
In our worldwide task of caring
For the hungry and despairing,
In the harvests we are sharing,
God’s will is done.
For the harvests of his Spirit,
Thanks be to God.
For the good we all inherit,
Thanks be to God.
For the wonders that astound us,
For the truths that still confound us,
Most of all that love has found us,
Thanks be to God.

HELP IN DISTRESS
Jesus said: “I will be with you always!”
And thus – He is worthy of – all praise;
When we are weak – it is He who is strong;
He will not abandon us – all day long!
We go day to day stressed and strained;
All helter-skelter – our efforts restrained;
By one failure and foible after another –
The buffoonery boggles – sorely smother!
We start and stop till eventually;
We’re just spinning our wheels unusually;
What did we forget to consider or try?
This is not working – but we don’t know why!
Did we pray and ask and did we receive?
His gifts, fruits, and wisdom – did we conceive?
Or did we just think we could do without?
Ask not a question or wonder or doubt?
After all, we are smart – we can do it ourselves;
We can order and sort and arrange on the shelves;
Why would we need any assistance at all?
We’re ready, willing, able – to answer the call!
When we try to do anything on our own;
We reap only partially what we have sown;
Without Jesus Christ – our success is nil;
When we attempt to succeed – by our own will!
Through prayerful reflection – dedicate your day;
Relinquish your effort – send your strife His way;
Prayerfully – carefully – just listen to Him;
Without His assistance – your chances are slim!
So next time you venture out into the world;
Take care to pray, first – lest you be unfurled;
Through the self and its plagues of centeredness;
You get dire deception and pigheadedness!
Remember what Jesus has promised He’d do;
To always be with you – send His Spirit, too;
When you are distraught and distracted someday;
Your Help in Distress – is the Truth, Life, and Way!

HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY !!!

Forced reset triggers are about to be legal again, and the settlement agreement with the DoJ apparently means no future administration can undo it by Executive Order.
.
“forced reset triggers” sounds like a liberal mental problem to me. can you see spot run it for me?
I think this might be “bump stocks”
I’m not about to listen to twenty minutes of that guy’s pomposity and self promotion for fifteen seconds of information, though, so my guess will stand as a guess.
OK with what Scott brought, I will stand corrected. Not the same as bump stocks.
Wiki: forced reset trigger (or “hard reset” trigger) is a device that allows a person to fire a semi-automatic firearm at an increased rate. The forced reset trigger works by mechanically resetting the trigger’s position after a shot is fired. This allows for an increased rate of fire. However, the shooter must still manually pull the trigger each time it resets for any subsequent shot to be fired.
An image of a forced reset trigger from ATF’s Ammunition Technology Division: Technical Bulletin 22-01.
Forced reset triggers are installed through replacement of the trigger control group. The preinstalled trigger of a particular firearm is replaced by the forced reset trigger’s assembly. Typically, only one shot is fired per single function of the trigger. However, in the U.S., the ATF considers some forced reset triggers to be machineguns under the National Firearms Act. This determination by the ATF is being litigated by gun rights groups in the United States.
.
.
Forced reset triggers are different from, but accomplish a similar objective, as bump stocks:
Wiki: Bump stocks or bump fire stocks are gun stocks that can be used to assist in bump firing, the act of using the recoil of a semi-automatic firearm to fire cartridges in rapid succession.
The legality of bump stocks in the United States came under question following the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, in which 60 people were killed and 869 people injured.
The gunman was found to have fitted bump stocks to his weapons. Several states passed legislation restricting ownership of bump stocks following this shooting. In December 2018, the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) published a rule that bump stocks constituted “machine guns”, and thus were effectively illegal under federal law.
The Supreme Court vacated this regulation in June 2024 in Garland v. Cargill. Bump stocks remain illegal in 15 states and the District of Columbia based on state bans not affected by the Supreme Court ruling.
.
A bump stock causes the trigger (red) to be actuated when the receiver moves forward, being reset each round by receiver recoil. This allows semi-automatic firearms to somewhat mimic fully automatic weapons.
THANK YOU

Startling discovery under ice of Greenland boosts Trump’s bid to take over island
President Donald Trump‘s push to take over Greenland could be due to a NASA discovery deep under the ice.
Chad Greene, chief scientist for the space agency, was flying a plane over an enormous glacier in April 2024 when his radar unexpectedly detected Camp Century, a Cold War-era military base that was abandoned in 1967.
Known as ‘the city under the ice,’ Camp Century was built in 1959. It consists of 21 tunnels drilled just below the surface of the Greenland ice sheet, spanning a total length of 9,800 feet.

Yup. It’s a scam.
yup, keep the balance of power about even so one side cannot be totally blamed and overthrown…though with the election rigging that’s really a nonstarter anyway.
It’s been a scam for decades, at least my whole lifetime.

From the videos I have seen on youtube, many black women absolutely hate that statue.
Some black women have suggested that most black women don’t realize that’s how many of them look to the world. Most don’t look like black queens on the covers of fashion magazines, many of them present themselves to the world looking like that statue.
The artist who created the bronze statue, Thomas J. Price, is black.

.
If he wasn’t, white people would be race-blamed to infinity and the artist would have had to go into hiding for fear of his life, for creating such an unflattering image of an angry black girl-boss.
But Joe likes her… he can’t keep his hands or nose off her…

It’s sort of the Black version of “Frump.” Most frumps don’t realize they’ve become frumps (at least not when they take the early steps of changing dress and hairdo).
Frump ’em and dump ’em…..
Unsafe, at any Price…..

I’m not, but my Dad, who was an engineer for GM, mentioned the author of the quote (“Unsafe at any Speed”, by Ralph Nader) a few times.
IIRC, Ralphie boy pretty much destroyed the Chevy Corvair, when there was nothing wrong with it.
There was a quirk of the suspension design that could cause it to tip over–once it starts it’s just going to keep going. It’s actually discussed in freshman physics classes.
“It’s actually discussed in freshman physics classes.”
____________
No doubt — Lefty authors, Lefty colleges, Lefty professors teaching Lefty viewpoints using boogeyman Big Auto industry as examples.
That doesn’t mean they got the engineering correct.
Or…there really was an issue.
Maybe… if Left wing activist Ralph Nader was a better engineer than the engineers at GM.
At the time, General Motors could afford and attract many of the best engineers in the world.
Ralph Nader was the engineer who got away…
In this particular case apparently it needed an extra bar to prevent the swinging axle suspension from folding under the car.
Management wouldn’t let them do it for cost reasons.
Exactly. Shades of the Ford Pinto debacle… I had a Ford Mustang II (gelded lily) and was worried about the gas tank, as it was basically a stretched Pinto (
) as opposed to a “slimmed” Mustang…
(posting here for more column width)
Looks like Ralph’s book was published in November 1965.
Apparently the problems with the Corvair were already fixed, by GM, by 1962.
https://www.goldeagle.com/tips-tools/was-the-corvair-as-bad-as-ralph-nader-claimed/
Was the Corvair as Bad as Ralph Nader Claimed?
In his book “Unsafe at Any Speed”, the famous and often outspoken political activist Ralph Nader claimed that the Corvair was the most dangerous automobile on the road in the 1960s.
While Ralph Nader certainly made some valid points in his most popular book, the Corvair may not have been as bad as he claimed.
Nader’s Arguments
In the first chapter of “Unsafe at Any Speed”, Nader fired a barrage of criticisms at the American automobile industry by stating that the Corvair was a “one-car accident”. While Nader viewed most automobiles to be dangerous, he targeted the Chevrolet Corvair due to its unconventional design. Unlike many other vehicles, the Corvair utilized a swing-axle suspension system.
This specific system on the Corvair caused tire pressure requirements that were not in line with existing industry standards. These unregulated requirements were often not filled by the owners of Corvairs. While this was a major problem of the original Corvair, a larger problem developed from the vehicle’s inability to bear heavy loads without handling issues developing. Over-steering issues were also caused by the absence of an anti-sway bar in the Corvair.
While these are real issues, it is important to note that many drivers of Corvairs did not experience any problems with handling.
The Actual Problem
Nader may have had a point when he discussed the Corvair’s issues, but he clearly had an agenda that was a disservice to car enthusiasts. Nader seemed to miss the point that the rear engine may have also been a contributing factor that lead to many accidents.
The rear engine placement in the Corvair caused a weight imbalance that resulted in poor handling. As a performance vehicle, many people enjoyed driving the Corvair at high speeds. When combined with poor handling, high speeds can lead to an accident when the driver attempts to correct a steering error. Another issue with the Corvair occurred after the initial accident.
Due to the weak hinges that connected the hood to the frame of the car, the hood often became a dangerous projectile that caused many fatalities.
Not All Corvairs Are Dangerous
These design errors only apply to original unaltered Corvairs from 1962.
After the problems of the Corvairs were realized by third-party manufacturers and mechanics, aftermarket parts that made the vehicle safer became rather common. One of the most common solutions employed by mechanics involved attaching brackets to the chassis of the Corvair.
This reduced the pressure placed on the front of the vehicle and handling improved. By 1964, these aftermarket repairs were no longer necessary; Chevrolet implemented safer designs for all new Corvairs.”
.
A few comments from Corvair owners at the same link as the article above:
Carl Briggs | Jun 7, 2019 at 9:01am
“Actually the Nader claims only applied to 1960 and 1961. By 1962 GM increased the spring rates to somewhat compensate for the rear wheel tuck problem.
Even Ford Motor Company proved that 1960 Corvair rollover could only be accomplished by extremely intentional irradic driving with improper air pressure or by hitting a curb or running off the road while turning.
A friend fell asleep while driving an early 4 door. It ran off the road and overturned. He awoke sleeping on the headliner, uninjured. A farmer helped him right the car so he could continue driving, albeit without a windshield.”
.
bruce callahan | Jun 11, 2019 at 3:56pm
“I had a turbocharges 1963 Corvair Spyder convertible. I had absolutely no problems with the handling in summer or winter even at high speed. Possibly the previous owner had made some modifications I was unaware of but I don’t think so. In my experience it was a good handling car.
I can recall my room mate’s terrifying high speed driving down Boulder Canyon (Col.) in another Corvair (the landscape whipping by the windshield at a high rate) but the car behaved flawlessly.
My experience was so unlike many of the comments I’ve heard or read over the years that I’ve come to wonder if these folks had ever driven one. There were some things that could have been improved like any American car of the period but in general it was a cut above most. My sense is that many people who don’t know what they are talking about like to repeat such statements as “unsafe at any speed” in order to make themselves sound knowledgeable but, in my estimation it is BS.
Possibly if a car was not maintained properly, driven with deflated tires, they didn’t know how to drive a rear engined car……? I don’t know how else to explain the negative remarks. Its unfortunate that GM discontinued this car.
The 1965 and onward models were further improved with full independent suspension and more power. The car was innovative and ahead of typical American cars of the period.”
I am poking around right now.
Will try to verify the bit about the problems being fixed by 1962. (Which incidentally means that there were some problems, at first anyway.)
“(Which incidentally means that there were some problems, at first anyway.)”
_____________
There are always problems with any new car, and not just new cars, but new major model changes to preexisting cars.
The 1963 split-window Corvette Sting Ray (first year of the 1963-1967 or ‘mid-year’ body style) had some problems which were addressed during the model year and into 1964, and the refinements continued all the way through 1967.
In 1968 there was a major change to the Stingray (all one word, starting in 1968) body style, the same overall body style which then continued until 1982. The 1968 Corvette had some problems that were addressed throughout the 1968 model year.
The next major change was the 1984 model year (there was no 1983 Corvette, as they were retooling for the major changes to the 1984 model), which had problems that were addressed during the production year.
So problems are common, and that’s on GM’s flagship automobile, the Chevrolet Corvette, which had been in continuous production since 1953.
The Corvair was a completely new car, not an update of a previous model, so more problems would be expected, but they were still worked out by the end of the 1962 model year.
Ralphie’s political activist hit piece didn’t come out until nearly the end (November) of 1965, nearly three full years after the problems were already fixed.
Yeah, one can expect teething pains with anything new like that. No argument there.
I found one place that said the changes were made in 1965 (but planned before then–i.e., before Nader’s book) and once done, the car was VASTLY improved in its handling. Unfortunately Nader had poisoned the well so thoroughly it was doomed anyway. (The same source, though favorably inclined toward the car, stated you could get in trouble if you handled the prior build just like other cars but this was someone who expected people to know a lot about cars, so he basically ignored the implications that putting that car in the hands of Joe Average who is just going to treat it like an appliance might not be that great an idea.)

Yup. And he is not even the guy who pulled the strings, he was just the POS that put a face in the public for those who did.

Just a Meat puppet the hidden rulers did not give a shiff about.
The banality of evil.
I can’t buy that “he” did anything but the masher stuff.
But he fronted for those that did.
(As for the watch, apparently there’s actually a good explanation for it. I just don’t remember what it is.)
It was a smartwatch. loaded with the names of approaching family members so he could address them by name. In the past, an aide would introduce them in traditional fashion or would whisper in POTUS’ ear.
Smartwatch is clever but the optics are horrible.
A tiny booklet would be better, if for some reason the aide is unavailable.
µDaytimer
I saw that floated as a way to cover for Biden, but it doesn’t seem plausible to me. He would have had to look at his watch multiple times, but I only recall people talking about his doing it one time.
Plus, any staffer who thinks it’s a good idea to have the president look at his watch in public under any circumstances does not deserve the position.
this is peanuts imo but still

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
The Supreme Court has just ruled that the worst murderers, drug dealers, gang members, and even those who are mentally insane, who came into our Country illegally, are not allowed to be forced out without going through a long, protracted, and expensive Legal Process, one that will take, possibly, many years for each person, and one that will allow these people to commit many crimes before they even see the inside of a Courthouse. The result of this decision will let more CRIMINALS pour into our Country, doing great harm to our cherished American public. It will also encourage other criminals to illegally enter our Country, wreaking havoc and bedlam wherever they go. The Supreme Court of the United States is not allowing me to do what I was elected to do. Sleepy Joe Biden allowed MILLIONS of Criminal Aliens to come into our Country without any “PROCESS” but, in order to get them out of our Country, we have to go through a long and extended PROCESS. In any event, thank you to Justice Alito and Justice Thomas for attempting to protect our Country. This is a bad and dangerous day for America!

help me out here because so many laws/acts have been talked about. wasn’t this one, the one which allowed no judicial review? or am i mixing them up?
Not sure!
Just suspend habeas corpus. It’s legal, it’s unassailable. Then send in the National Guard and deport all the illegals.
It’s time to rip off the bandaid and stop all this pussyfooting around a clear MINORITY of people who want rapists, murderers, and drug dealers in our country.
And conservatives need to get on board and help out. That means when your harpy leftist neighbor is acting out about it, don’t try to reason with them, call the law.
I’m good with the backup on this, but I’m thinking Trump has some options left before we go there.
How about rounding up some of the NASTIEST of the nasty and buss them to the neighborhoods of the Supreme court justices?
WHY should WE live with their ‘opinions’ while they do not!
ALSO ANY MURDER BY AN ILLEGAL who was SUPPOSED to be deported but was not, should have the Supreme Court Justices tried as ACCESSORIES BEFORE THE FACT!!!

Ed Martin, the badass that Trump appointed as Director of the DOJ’s Weaponization Working Group, was just on @JoeTalkShow
talking about RICO charges for the Deep State
“Can we investigate? The answer is yes. I don’t really care about statute of limitations… Let me be clear, there’s lots of charges that don’t have statute of limitations…
RICO gets you out of statute of limitations if it’s an ongoing conspiracy to do something. So there’s plenty of ways to be smart about it.
We gotta get true about it. Get real about it and then try to hold accountable the people that did it in whatever way we can.”
He added that President Trump sent him a message after he switched jobs that said “Keep fighting! Keep fighting! Keep fighting!”
Go get em @EagleEdMartin
Martin is the man to watch!
This guy, TB, has been pointing RICO out for years on here. It has been organized. I saw it BIMD. FIB and the clowns among other agencies of government, like the ATF, handle the implementation and cleaning of incidents.
Ed knows things. He has access that we don’t. God speed his efforts and provide safety and success for all white hats.
RICO cases are going to take a lot more time compared to normal cases. However I hope a few MOABs make it to the news before the coming elections in 2026.
Read this Joe Lange article. It reads more like facts than a story or theory to me.
If what he states is true, RICO has been investigated for nearly a decade now. Although I fully support all the MOAB’s they want to drop on the scum until then.

Here’s all one needs to know about Prof. Jeffrey Morris, PhD —
One: his research is funded by the federal government (NIH).
Two: he writes gaslighting / psyop articles on “how to discuss the COVID-19 “vaccines” with MAGA types who really don’t know what they’re talking about.”

Yours Truly: Yeah, the COVID-19 “vaccines” are “strongly effective in young people”, but in THESE ways:
the COVID-19 “vaccines” damage the testes in males.
the COVID-19 “vaccines” destroy 60% the lifetime supply of eggs in females.
the COVID-19 “vaccines” induce myocarditis / pericarditis.
the COVID-19 “vaccines” increase risk of autoimmune disease by 23% (see my comment in yesterday’s Health Friday post discussion thread, where I present this, via https://www.thefocalpoints.com/).

Pentagon silent, aviation experts baffled by Trump’s fighter comments
May 16, 2025
https://www.airforcetimes.com/air/2025/05/16/pentagon-silent-aviation-experts-baffled-by-trumps-fighter-comments/
During a roundtable discussion in Doha, Qatar, flanked by the heads of Boeing and GE Aerospace, Trump surprised many in the military aviation world by asserting a twin-engined F-35 successor, which he dubbed the F-55, was in the works.
“The F-35, we’re doing an upgrade, a simple upgrade,” Trump said. “But we’re also doing an F-55, I’m going to call it an F-55. And that’s going to be a substantial upgrade. But it’s going to be also with two engines.”
Trump added that a modernized version of the F-22, which he referred to as “F-22 Super,” was in the works.
The information shouldn’t be classified that we are working on upgrades to our current war planes, or that we’re developing new models. Of course we are. And so are the Russions, the Chinese, the British, French, Germans, etc.
The French are at an impasse.
They can’t figure out how to improve upon solid white for a surrender flag.

Pro-Palestinian at UCLA was on day 6 of her hunger strike yesterday attempting to get UCLA to change their policies on Israel.
She was mad the school failed to speak to her directly about her hunger strike.
Where do these protesters get their overblown sense of importance?
Well alrighty then. One less idgit in the world would not be a bad thing.
boy I would love to be in their mind for just a few minutes. where DOES that sense of importance and entitlement come from?
lol. I would be afraid that if I did get in their minds, I could not get back out.
Brainwashing. Systemized, repeated teaching of lies as truth. Islamists are easy prey.
Your fear is highly justified.
It’s very scary in there, or so I’ve been told.
All that empty space…..
How to handle a hunger strike:
Make it plain that you are NOT denying the person food.
Let them fucking starve themselves to death.
Or just make the best smelling, best tasting food, and then eat it in front of them, rotating in shifts, all day long.
Find out if they’re really serious.
The main point is to make sure no one can claim the dumbfuck was starved to death by their captors (if it’s a prisoner on a hunger strike). Have video of them refusing to eat, and ignoring the food when it is left in their cell.
But a little taunting as you suggest can add to the experience.
Well it’s only taunting if you refuse to share, and that would be rude, so definitely offer her as much as she’d like
Pure, pure bacon. 100% unadulterated bacon, which she cannot touch, sniff, or even think about because it’s Haram…
Tantalus, indeed…..
If I had a Haram, I wouldn’t even worry about food, I would just have one of the girls in my Haram go make me a sammich.
Why aren’t other students eating their lunch, sitting right next to her, all day long?
Your sadistic streak is getting deeper.
i was going to say that…LOL
Order a fully-loaded pizza from Papa Johns (or whoever) and have it delivered to her…
I guess Turkey sausage, no bacon or pork, or whatever… hell, just make it vegan…..
Figure out whatever it is she likes. Then deliver it.

@RepMTG
Lawler introduced a bill in 2023 moving SALT caps to $20,000 and now he is a NO on our reconciliation bill because he says our bill raises SALT caps to $30,000 and says that is not enough!
SALT caps at $30,000 is for Lawler’s district allows 93% of his constituents to write off their entire property tax bill!
Lawler can win re-election on that and the $30,000 SALT caps is even better than the measly $20,000 SALT cap he put in his own legislation.
He should be saying thank you to all of us from red states that are supporting the SALT caps being raised to $30,000 to help his constituents in his terrible blue states.
But instead he is grandstanding and refusing to vote for the most important legislation that we can accomplish this term. The tax law is about to expire and that will raise taxes 65% on everyone.
Then we have the other wing of our conference who just voted NO in the budget committee mark up on the reconciliation budget.
The Freedom Caucus now refuses to vote for the bid beautiful bill because it doesn’t cut Medicaid enough.
This group, Clyde, Roy, Norman, and Brecheen are all in nice red seats and I think they are screwing things up just as badly as RINO Mike Lawler.
I would argue that it is all of them that don’t appreciate our majority like I do!
I just want to pass the big beautiful bill, Trump’s EOs, and DOGE rescission cuts and win, win, win!!
Then we can do another reconciliation bill and hopefully get another bite at the apple to win some more!
Lawler, Clyde, Norman, Roy, and Brecheen never supported Trump until the end of the election cycle until they had no choice. They never went to rally after rally all over the country like I did, and I went to more than anyone fighting to win. These guys have no idea what made millions of people stand in lines for hours, give Trump standing ovations, and hold their hand over their hearts and cry.
But I do.
Because I was there with them.
It wasn’t SALT caps or Medicaid cuts.
It was NO tax on tips, overtime, social security, closing the border and stopping innocent American’s like Laken Rileys from being murdered, lowering inflation to make life affordable for the average American who can no longer afford it, ending the never ending foreign wars, and Making America Healthy Again. It was MAGA and America First.
So when I am attacking these guys for dying on their own hills where they have built their mini kingdoms, I am doing it for a reason.
Because it is them that is throwing our majority away, and I fought too damn hard to get it to back down.

_____________
Never heard of ‘SALT caps’ before, but why don’t we all get salt caps for $30,000 to write off our property tax bills?
I love salt.
If I was paid by my salt intake, I’d get a lot more than $30,000.
I could write off my property tax and have plenty left over to live a comfortable lifestyle off the rest.
NaCl keeps one well???
I sure hope so!
I like this salt, tastes many times better than regular table salt:
.
Aubergine recommended Redmond Ancient Kosher Sea Salt, so I tried some, but to me it’s too much like pretzel salt, little chunks that don’t dissolve, so it’s like eating the pretzel salt that remains in the bottom of the bag after the pretzels are all gone.
The flavor or taste was fine, but the texture is very different.
Redmond sells many salts with different levels of grind.

Bookmarked, thank you Gudthots!
Some people do not understand incrementalism…at least not when people on our side think of practicing it.
I have no problem with someone deciding to die on the hill of principle when fighting the other side’s attacks on our principles.
This is, however, an incremental push back against their gains, and unless one can demonstrate that passing this will prevent any further progress, ever, then one should support it.
Update for those who read my Daily on the incident at school with #2 and SIL.
#2 did compete in three field day events Tuesday. One was a 50 M sprint. He finished third.
God is good. The road rash has healed well. No further bruising occurred.
The sheriff’s office provided SIL a review of the security footage video and closed the file on the incident. Since it happened on government property at a school, they had video security of the loading area. It happened exactly as SIL and #2 described. SIL’s vehicle was in line and stopped, #2 got out without his backpack, he walked to the school door entrance, SIL began moving forward slowly with other vehicles in the line, #2 came running back to get the backpack, he slipped as he reached for the car door, he fell under the car. The car then rolled over his leg at the knee.
There were at least 50 witnesses to it anyway, but SIL was glad to see the actual footage to know for sure he did nothing that could have caused #2 to be injured. He is still shaken from the incident and wants Daughter to take #2 to school for the rest of the little school time that is remaining. #2 is having a blast with the Minecraft Lego set he received.
He probably has some PTSD from the episode. Seriously. He might need to see a counselor to get some help with how to deal with it. Trauma is real.
Both do. #2 tries to act big, but has moments in the evenings. He wants Mommy and snuggle time to calm down.
SIL has access to counseling at work in the PD. He and I also work on it some with my grief training.
All good. I’m glad they are getting the help they need.

“FDA Authorization of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccines Found Invalid”
Nicolas Hulscher, MPH

Yours Truly: This article is a must-read.
Pfizer-BioNTech did everything it could to falsify / change / delete data related to the “safety and efficacy” of that huge C4591001 study on BNT162b2 — the data that the company gave to the FDA in order to get the initial EUA for the injectable on 11 December 2020.
But wait, there’s more!
It appears that Pfizer-BioNTech deliberately delayed “safety and efficacy” data release related to BNT162b2 until AFTER the 2020 election. The agreement between Pfizer-BioNTech and the President Trump45 administration was that data would be reelased BY 31 OCTOBER 2020.
Very interesting!
ALSO they sabotaged HCQ and Ivermectin studies so an EUA could be used.
Gail Combs
Yes.
One wonders if there was some kind of “collusion” between the federal government in the United States and the governments of other countries — like, France — in the banning of HCQ to prevent / treat COVID-19 infection — so that EUAs could be issued by these countries for the Pfizer-BioNTech and the Moderna modRNA COVID-19 “vaccines”?

These are the sort of tricks the old foist upon the young to see them smile after learning the truth. Or so I’d think the intended result. Good morning, C&C, it’s Saturday! Somehow, we already find ourselves on the back side of May. Let’s press on with the Weekend Edition. In today’s jam-packed roundup: the weekend’s biggest story is the lost-lost audio of Biden’s classified documents interview, which popped up in an unexpected place; Trump midterm strategy; FBI Director makes major announcement about DC headquarters and promises decentralization; more conspiracy theories go mainstream as FDA, Florida embrace anti-fluoridation; experts crying in hysteria as national inflation rates defy doom predictions over Trump tariffs; and we dig into the Supreme Court’s latest quirky setback to Trump’s mass deportation plans.
Given the Biden tapes I thought I would repost this video.

Comey is a total psychopath—the kind, like Fauci, who can present as perfectly normal, unlike sociopaths who can’t. But make no mistake: he’s very smart and knows exactly what he’s doing.
He knows full well that posting a picture of seashells won’t land him in jail, or even lead to prosecution. But he also knows it might be just provocative enough to trigger someone into overreacting, like getting him investigated or arrested, which is exactly what he wants.
The right response is not to take the bait. Ignore the seashells. Instead, charge him for brazenly and repeatedly lying to Congress in September 2020—something still well within the statute of limitations. And don’t do it in D.C. Charge him in Oklahoma, or another carefully chosen jurisdiction, because his lies had national consequences.
This sounds very smart.

Democrat Kleptocrat Oligarchs
Democrat Kleptocrats
Betrayal & Crime
In halls of power, where trust is sworn,
Where oaths to serve the people are born,
A shadow creeps, a serpent’s coil,
Devouring honor, reaping spoil.
Democrat pols, in sin’s embrace,
With honeyed words and smiling face,
Are wolves in suits, with hearts of stone,
Who claim the public’s wealth their own.
Elected by the hopeful throng,
Who trusted them to right the wrong,
They pledged to serve with humble might,
To guard the day, to shield the night.
But once they sit in marble towers,
They trade their trust for corrupt powers,
And weave the web of lies they planned
To plunder gold from every hand.
Democrat Kleptocrats
Foundations & PACs
Their schemes are vast, their methods sly,
They spin their tales to lull the eye.
Through their foundations, funds flow free,
A corrupt plan, a stealing spree.
These “charities,” with noble names,
Are but facades for crooked games,
Where millions flow, unchecked, unseen,
To private coffers, lush and green.
Political PACs, their theft device,
A legal shield for avarice.
Super PACs, with boundless sums,
From donors dark, where no light comes.
They twist the law to skirt the line,
No trace of guilt, no clear design,
Yet money moves, from PAC to kin,
A quiet theft, a mortal sin.
Democrat Kleptocrats
USAID, NGOs & Nepotism
But brasher still, a greedy stroke,
A heist so bold, it chokes the throat:
USAID, a slush-fund purse,
Where billions flow, a public curse.
This agency, meant to aid the poor,
Becomes their tool, their open door.
They steer the funds through channels vast,
To NGOs then transferred fast.
Smaller NGOs, a thousand strong,
Dens of thieves, where right goes wrong.
Their boards stacked with cronies dear,
The politicians’ kin appear –
A cousin here, a nephew there,
A friend who gets a lavish share.
High salaries, with perks galore,
They siphon wealth, and still want more.
The process steals, a corrupt scheme,
The Democrat’s beloved dream.
Tax dollars, meant for global good,
Are looted in this brotherhood.
From Washington to distant lands,
The money slips through greasy hands,
No audit trails, no oversight,
Just endless gain, a crook’s delight.
To be continued . . .

Sounds like FAA is in deeper doo doo than they can manage a quick fix. This does get into technical issues about old siftware.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14719869/FAA-leaked-report-newark-airport-LAX-radar-failure.html
Newark Airport officials were WARNED about faulty radar feeds as it’s revealed displays also failed at LAX
But an internal report leaked to DailyMail.com suggests senior officials had ample warning that the regulator’s antiquated communications system was on the brink of collapse.
The confidential document lists multiple occasions when a dozen or more tower displays failed in eerily similar circumstances across Southern California in 2022 and 2023.
A national safety panel determined the culprit was congested ethernet cabling that couldn’t cope with the volume of data traveling between radars and towers.
Ominously, the report concluded that the danger wasn’t unique to California because the FAA relies upon the same decades-old tech across the entire country.
Officials insisted that they could mitigate the ‘high risk hazard’ by installing software patches and having staffers manually monitor the signal.
Very simple, safer, more robust, and far-higher-bandwidth solution: fiber-optic cable… in particular 9/25 µm fiber…..
Pretty much impervious to outside interference (in particular electrical noise), compact (even including generous bend radii), and not a problem to terminate with modern equipment (something that wasn’t available 30-40 years ago in the “good old days”
)…..
Softare only masks the problem; it never solves it….
You also need appropriate transceivers — which, again, are cheap and readily available today.
Yep… just getting around LC, SC, and various permutations/pairings thereof…..
Nothing like making a fiber splice… not for the faint of heart, at least “back then”…..
We ended up buying a fiber splicer that cost, IIRC, about $48,000.
Theyll get a committee right on that…in 10 years….

Almighty God, we give you thanks for surrounding us, as daylight fades, with the brightness of the vesper light; and we implore you of your great mercy that, as you enfold us with the radiance of this light, so you would shine into our hearts the brightness of your Holy Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Grant us, Lord, the lamp of charity which never fails, that it may burn in us and shed its light on those around us, and that by its brightness we may have a vision of that holy City, where dwells the true and never-failing Light, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O Lord God Almighty, as you have taught us to call the evening, the morning, and the noonday one day; and have made the sun to know its going down: Dispel the darkness of our hearts, that by your brightness we may know you to be the true God and eternal light, living and reigning for ever and ever. Amen.
Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning, and darkens the day into night; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth: The Lord is his name. Amen.

US to Begin European Troop Withdrawal Talks, NATO Ambassador Says

After Trump talks with Putin on Monday, ideally they’ll meet within a couple weeks. Settle on Russia’s terms, largely known AND Ukraine will accept.
Ukraine really has two choices lose along the lines of the front as they are today. Or lose more territory.
EU, NATO, UK, France, Germany have Zero votes OR standing. They already lost.

“UKRAINIANS SHOCKED THAT RUSSIA WANTS WHAT IT SAYS IT WANTS SINCE YEARS!
The Ukrainian delegation and Zelensky are shocked that Russia wants the terms they announced since 2024, actually even before.
So the peace proposal is:
1) No NATO membership
2) Neutral status
3) Restoration of rights of the Russian population
4) Restoration of the church
5) No possibility for the west to use Ukraine as a proxy again!
6) Taken territories in Ukraine become Russian”

SOLAS UPDATE:
He gets to come back home this evening. Yours Truly will pick him up from the BluePearl emergency vet hospital around 8:30PM. He still has a ways to go — he’ll be taking some medications to help resolve the mild cases of gastroenteritis and hepatitis. But the stitches were removed from the wound on his back, so that will now finish healing. The wound on his left side is healing, too.
And he doesn’t have to wear that awful “Elizabethan cone” on his head, or wear the “cover the wounds” mesh stocking thing on his body. I need to make sure that he doesn’t jump on the furniture or run around a lot for the next few days. He goes back to his regular vet later next week to have the liver ALT level checked to see if it’s starting to go down to normal range.
The Almighty God is watching over my little guy.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts.

A plane carrying almost 200 passengers did not not have a pilot for over 10 minutes in what was a frightening scene after the first officer lost consciousness in the cockpit while the captain was off using the bathroom, a new investigation found.
The chaos took place after a Lufthansa plane, Airbus A321, was en route from Frankfurt, Germany, to Seville, Spain, in February 2024, according to a report from Spanish aviation investigators that was revealed this week.
The report revealed that the captain said he left his first officer alone with close to 30 minutes of flight time remaining so he could use the bathroom lavatory, noting that his second-in-command “appeared to be able and alert” at the time.
However, when he returned just eight minutes later, the pilot claimed that he could not access the flight deck despite entering the security code five times to gain access to the door.
When an intercom call to the flight deck went unanswered, the panicked pilot plugged in an emergency code.
Shortly after, the co-pilot woke up from unconsciousness.

We should be wondering what kind of world events were happening at the time that we needed distraction from. This smells too much as a coordinated event given the door thing.
What door thing? Cockpit doors self lock ever since 9/11. Cannot be opened from the outside. This is the first time I ever heard of an emergency code.
Self lock and reopen when you punch in a code. That door thing. Nice they have an emergency code, but why didn’t the regular code work at that particular time? The story didn’t say he buzzed to get back in, it said he punched a code to get back in and then had to use an emergency code. If the story said he buzzed and couldn’t get in I’d agree.
Would allow that the first code was an identifier so he could be buzzed in from the inside. That is what you must mean.
Recall.
Malaysia 370 (777) lost after take off.
Part of the story had the pilot or co pilot leave the cockpit. The the remaining pilot in the cockpit pulled off the disappearing act.
Code to access? Emergency code. Defeated from inside the cockpit.
Betting more to the story with Lufthansa flight.
They changed the regs after the GermanWings flight where a loopy co-pilot committed suicide by flying the plane into the French Alps, having locked the cockpit door…
Not sure of the details, but it was 10 years ago in March. A whole exchange student class was on that plane, as well as a pair of opera singers and their young child, and many other innocent victims.
There HAS to be some way to protect both the pilots and the passengers…
Passengers my concern.
That emergency code thing smell like message to HQ, plane under duress. Not an access to cockpit thing.
Once upon a time, the pilot or copilot left the cockpit, one of the cabin crew steped into the cockpit. Always two in tghe cockpit.
I smell a rat with the copilot.
Based purely on what you posted here and now, Malaysia 370 had a guy in the cabin determined to commit suicide (and take the rest of the people with him). He knew about and was able to block the emergency access.
In this recent case the emergency access wasn’t blocked, suggesting that the passed out copilot wasn’t malicious, just unconscious and unable to let the pilot in.
From the article.
Sticking with, I smell a rat, in the co-pilot.
Timeline would be helpful to understand..
I smell a rat in the co-pilot.
Googled Emergency Code thing.
Back to Jab is the culprit.
Brave AI.
Emergency Code on Cockpit DoorThe emergency code on the cockpit door keypad is used to request access to the cockpit in case of an emergency, such as when a pilot is incapacitated. When the correct emergency code is entered, a chime sounds in the cockpit, alerting the pilots to the request for entry. The pilots then have 30 seconds to unlock the door manually or the door will unlock automatically for five seconds, allowing entry from the outside.26
If the pilots do not unlock the door within the 30-second timeframe, the door unlocks automatically for five seconds, providing an opportunity for the cabin crew to enter and provide assistance.26 However, the pilots can also deny access by selecting a “lock” toggle, which disables the keypad for five to 20 minutes or until the pilot decides to unlock the door.2
You’re missing my point.
The regular code apparently is a “let me in” code and someone inside has to open the door.
370–Pilot could not access cockpit at all. Emergency code disabled.
This time–Pilot could access using emergency code. Emergency code NOT disabled. Copilot probably really did pass out, couldn’t respond to regular code.
Or come at it like this, since really we don’t know what happened on 370: if the copilot was malicious, why did the emergency code work?
Jab for sure!
