Oklahoma family uncovers ‘really neat’ diamond at state park, thanks to dollar store tools
Unusual discovery brings number of 2025 park finds to 403 diamonds
Oklahoma family members recently hit the jackpot when they found an impressive diamond at an Arkansas state park this month – with tools they bought at a dollar store.
The discovery, made at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, was announced by Arkansas State Parks on Sept. 23.
A family from Cookson, Oklahoma, some 65 miles southeast of Tulsa, made the discovery on Sept. 13.
Officials said that visitor Raynae Madison and her family visited the Natural State to celebrate the birthday of Madison’s nephew, William.
During the trip, they decided to stop by Crater of Diamonds State Park to try their luck at digging gems, according to a press release.
“To prepare for their visit, they purchased a beach digging kit and sand sifting tools from a dollar store,” the press release noted.
“The family picked a spot to dig on the north side of the park’s 37.5-acre diamond search area, near Prospector Trailhead.”
The family dug a few buckets’ worth of dirt before they began sifting through their screens – which is when Madison noticed “an unusual oblong, shiny stone.”
The aunt told officials that she thought the find was “really neat,” at first, but had no idea what it was.

“[Brown diamonds] reflect red and green light, combining to make the diamond appear brown.”
“I honestly thought it was too big to be a diamond!” she said.
The gem was then identified to be a brown diamond weighing 2.79 carats – an impressively hefty find for the state park.
Madison opted to name it the William Diamond, for her nephew.
“Brown diamonds from the Crater occur due to a process called plastic deformation, which creates structural defects during a diamond’s formation or movement in magma,” park interpreter Emma O’Neal said of the find.
“These defects reflect red and green light, combining to make the diamond appear brown.”
Arkansas State Parks does not disclose the value of gems found at their park, and their website notes that the “exact value” of many diamonds is unknown until they are cut or appraised.
“Park staff do not grade or appraise diamonds,” the site states.
So far, 403 diamonds have been found at Crater of Diamonds State Park in 2025 – four of which have weighed over two carats.
Earlier this year, a Minnesota farmer found a “candy-like” diamond that he compared to a Werther’s candy wrapper.
In 2024, a French visitor found a 7.46-carat diamond at the park. The tourist, Julien Navas, named the gem after his fiancée, Carine.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

I have a few thoughts about this issue.
1) Adults are not meant to drink milk. Milk is for babies of all species. Cheese is changed by the process, and appears to be different for most people. But not things like cottage cheese and yogurt. They are pretty close to milk still. The dairy lobby ruined people by promoting drinking milk as healthy. The adult body doesn’t generally process it well.
2) Almost nobody drinks enough water. You can’t poop without enough water in your system. Your body conserves what there is for muscles and other functions, depriving the bowels of the moisture needed to soften and pass stool.
3) People sit too much. Your body is not designed to sit on your ass eight hours a day. It’s meant to move.
4) People’s gut biome is all screwed up. We need to eat probiotic and prebiotic actual food, like fermented veggies. Food has to digest properly to come out properly. I don’t think supplements work as well as real food.
5) Position is a thing, but if everything is functioning properly, I don’t think it’s as much of a thing. Squatty potties and such are ok, but unless you are doing right by your body otherwise, I don’t think it’s going to help much.
That’s my two cents on poop, which is actually way less than what a correctly functioning bowel is worth.

I posted about this the other day, too. I agree with her. It makes total sense of wokeness, and the sudden “switch” that has occurred. We just reached critical mass with the numbers of women in many areas, and boom.
I don’t get on well with women generally. I am too blunt, too abrupt, not nearly emotional enough, and impatient with their reactions to things. But then, I am an INTJ personality type, and we are the rarest of the rare. So I’m super weird.

White House Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative, Political, and Public Affairs James Blair said Thursday that President Donald Trump has already begun spending on midterm elections.
Blair’s reveal came during a conversation with Punchbowl News’ podcast Fly Out Day.
“I do think the President will spend. I’m very confident of that. In fact, the President is spending already. Don’t always advertise it,” Blair said when Jake Sherman asked if Trump would spend on midterms.
Responding to Sherman’s follow-up, Blair said Trump is not currently spending campaign money in Texas, where there is a three-way battle for the Republican nomination between Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX), and Lone Star State Attorney General Ken Paxton, though he is spending elsewhere.
He did note that Trump would be willing to spend in Texas to help keep the seat red if needed, after expressing a deep confidence that a Republican would win the Senate race.
Blair stressed that Trump has also helped raise funds for House and Senate Republicans, including the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), which is the campaign arm for House Republicans.
“He also helps them raise money. I think the NRCC raised a record $35 million in four weeks at the dinner he did back in April, and he appears for the committees. I’m quite confident he’ll spend. I’m quite confident that money will not be our limiting factor,” Blair said.
“He knows how to deploy resources, and at the end of the day, he will spend what it takes and help his team win,” Blair went on to add.

President Trump responds to the latest decision of the Canadian government.
PRESIDENT TRUMP: “Canada was caught, red handed, putting up a fraudulent advertisement on Ronald Reagan’s Speech on Tariffs. The Reagan Foundation said that they, “created an ad campaign using selective audio and video of President Ronald Reagan. The ad misrepresents the Presidential Radio Address,” and “did not seek nor receive permission to use and edit the remarks. To give context to the situation in Canada, consider the decision by Stellantis auto-manufacturing to withdraw billions in planned manufacturing plants in favor of relocating to the USA (Illinois). {SOURCE}
For a company to walk away from billions in expenditures in a five-year plan, the financial and legal analysis by the company is extensive. Actuaries, lawyers, banks and a host of other operational systems are involved in such a decision. For the CFO and CEO to reach the conclusion that their best play is to abandon an investment of that scale, it reflects just how poorly the Canadian government is positioned toward the Stellantis interests.
Yet, even with that painful reality staring them in the face, the Canadian government is so entrenched in their opposition to President Trump, they cannot change direction or modify domestic economic policy to be in alignment with their North American best interest. The disconnect is stunning.

SD: “Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former NBA player Damon Jones were arrested Thursday over their alleged participation in two major illegal gambling schemes — one involving bets placed on NBA games, the other involving underground poker games — investigated by the FBI.
Working with organized crime groups, NBA “insiders” such as Rozier and Jones would pass along confidential information in exchange for some of the proceeds, said Joseph Nocella, the interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. “They relied on corrupt individuals, including Jones and Rozier. However, Stephen A Smith sees something more nefarious afoot, as President Trump is executing a conspiracy of criminal investigations against the cultural sports of black Americans. Smith notes the NBA, NFL and WNBA are all likely targets of a vast FBI sting operation, intended to target people of color who are engaged in sports and conducting criminal activity.
