I had an awful night last night.
I couldn’t get a hold of Mom yesterday at all, so I texted my brother at 4:30 and asked if she was okay–she didn’t answer her phone all day. AN HOUR later he texted back–she’s in the ER at the local hospital–she fell. He said he would text when he had more details.
then this tornado like storm ripped thru here–high winds, lots of lightning–we lost electricity AGAIN–so no internet for the phone. It came back on 5 hours later but there were no messages from him. I texted my kids and my nephew, but even this morning no news from my brother.

I should explain my relationship with my brother (whom i call the anointed one) has been strained for years. he had not spoken to me for years before our father died and i still do not know why. I wondered why he wasn’t notified too because when i texted he had no clue what had happened. but the response was…i’ll let you know when i get more information. that was last evening…still nothing this morning so i texted again and will do so every hour till i get a response.

I’m pretty sure they never hung the normal 2000ml “normal saline” bag they usually use w/ IV’s at least for most/all of Josiah’s inpatient hospitalizations. Everyone then assumes he either wasn’t dehydrated or he was brought up to normal fluid status before they let him go home. I’m in a lonely spot in my viewpoint here…sigh…

That is unconscionable! My SIL is Very Literal. I was in the labor/delivery room for their first child. A staff person said that they’d be back “in a minute” & SIL literally watched the clock & when the second hand had made one complete rotation she was asking where the staff person was since “a minute” had passed. I was flabbergasted!
SIL is in a hard spot & absolutely doing the best she can in managing Dad in person & in making numerous arrangements for him. I’m in the backseat a bit because of his location. She’s 10 years younger than me so has Way more energy & in general she’s a dynamo & gets things done.
Hopefully the hydration issue will get traction or at least consideration in one or more of tomorrow’s planned doctor contacts. I intend to keep bringing it up, because…
I hope your mom rises above her diagnosis. My dad’s close hunting buddy was given 3 months to live with an aggressive lung cancer & he lived 2+ years, even got off his sick bed to attend Josiah’s wedding because he had an autistic grandson & the fact that our special needs including autism son was able to marry gave this dying man Huge Hope!
i’ve decided not to worry about the end but concentrate on making this time letting her know she’s loved and appreciated.
That’s got to be the best approach. Just keep loving her & bringing joy ❤

“In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire,” Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said in a social media post. However, vessels must transit through a “coordinated route” announced by Iran’s maritime authorities, Araghchi said.

Thank you for the update. IMO, the doctor at the hospital needs to order either a CT scan or an MRI to make sure there’s no head injury. Also, to test your mother for signs of concussion — a concussion (even one that doesn’t break bones or “hurt”) can cause some cognitive confusion.

Are you allowed to receive reports concerning her medical care? Your name must be listed. I would call the nurses station every 12 hrs for updates and that way you don’t have to rely on the bro. Hopefully your name is on the list. You can ask very specific questions like lab results, names of all medications she is taking, name of bacteria growing in urine. Just write it all down as they are relaying information and you can look stuff up on internet. Make sure social services dept. at the hosp is involved for her f/u care.

It would seem to be in your brother’s interest to PUT you on the contact list, so he doesn’t have to be the middleman, if for no other (better) reason.
There is no reason for him to want to prevent you from knowing your Mom’s condition, and it would take at least some burden/responsibility off him, if he knows you would be on this stuff like a hawk.
Of course this makes complete sense except when dealing with relatives, specifically siblings there can be some weird dynamics in play that override rational thinking.

Christ reproves the interpreters of the law. (1-12) A caution against covetousness The parable of the rich man. (13-21) Worldly care reproved. (22-40) Watchfulness enforced. (41-53) A warning to be reconciled to God. (54-59)1-12 A firm belief of the doctrine of God’s universal providence, and the extent of it, would satisfy us when in peril, and encourage us to trust God in the way of duty. Providence takes notice of the meanest creatures, even of the sparrows, and therefore of the smallest interests of the disciples of Christ. Those who confess Christ now, shall be owned by him in the great day, before the angels of God. To deter us from denying Christ, and deserting his truths and ways, we are here assured that those who deny Christ, though they may thus save life itself, and though they may gain a kingdom by it, will be great losers at last; for Christ will not know them, will not own them, nor show them favour. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

When confronted with impossible odds
With insurmountable bauds and frauds
We look to contemplation and reason
Inward outward no matter the season
After consideration of every option
The master chosen is the swaption
Of the world we should be but naught

What have we done that we need to undo
What can we do to secure a breakthrough
What did we do at the start that went wrong
Why is it so hard and taking so long
Why do we struggle to figure it out
It all comes back to the matter of doubt
What did Thomas doubt that was unseen
What was he missing that should have been
Why did he hesitate when others believed
What did they have he had not received
We know the story of Thomas the doubter
Unfortunately some have played the flouter
Of little faith were Thomas and Matthew
By His Word we really did not have to
In Proverbs 3 – lies quality advice
The commands are simple and thrice
Trust – Lean Not – and do Acknowledge
The path made straight by pre-knowledge
Does faith precede you in all that you do
Is obedience without further ado
Do you take it up with Him first or last
Is your turmoil present or is it past
Does doubt deter and mesmerize your mind
Do you panic because you fell behind
Are you anxiety-ridden and far off course
Have you considered the unseemly source

I’ve just completed and scheduled Sunday’s post. I hope will come out OK as I am under the influence of pain killers and muscle relaxants and whatever else.
On Thursday morning I had emergency surgery for a blocked bowel. They cut me from the lower tip of my sternum straight down the middle through my navel and as far down as they could go to give them access to my gut. What they found was that a section of my small intestine had twisted itself into a knot-like structure which was totally preventing the flow of contents.
They “untied” the “knot”, untwisted the intestine, evacuated it, and anchored in a number of places so the situation can’t be repeated. Other than the “Knot”, the bowel itself is healthy, and repairing the twisted structure and blockage, as it had been forming over years, might totally eliminate some or even all of the bowel problems I’ve had over the past years which had significantly increased in the past more recent years,
I have to stay in the hospital until normal bowel function is restored which, apparently, can be variable from a quite short duration to weeks. Since my basic bowel itself is healthy, I should come out on the shorter side of that duration . . . hopefully.
For your quick healing.

His oldest daughter just got married, 2 younger daughters are going into the Air Force & his son has been accepted to college — Cal State Long Beach. He still has 2 ‘little angels’ at home.

The depth and breadth of the utter coldness about — the “lip service only” approach to — the concept of “Do No Harm” that has been, and is now, pervasive in the fields of medical research, leaps out of the papers that I read every week. Take, for example, the entire paper cited in today’s offering regarding the TESTING ON HUMAN BEINGS of an unproven “intranasal influenza vaccine.” The paper is a mass of data and “results” showing EXACTLY what nasal mucosal proteins and mechanisms are targeted for DEFEAT or EVASION by this “vaccine.” Nasal muscosal proteins and mechanisms that would, under normal circumstances, detect and eliminate such an “enemy invader.”
The relentless pushing towards a “universal influenza vaccine” that would be sprayed up the nose of the recipient — with royalty payments going to the inventor of the product (Dr. Taubenberger) is, IMO, a case in point.
The very fact that the COVID-19 bioweapon “vaccines” — all of them, including the one from Novavax — have NOT been pulled off the market, have NOT been removed from use, are STILL being pushed on (under the guise of “recommended”) for pregnant women and for MILLIONS of Americans who “fit” into one or more of the “new category groups of those who are at risk of severe COVID-19 infection” — is another case in point. This, DESPITE the fact that the CDC/ FDA / AMA/ etc., KNOW that these injections are dangerous and deadly.
Sometimes, when the curtain is ripped away, that which is seen is not pleasant to see. Truth is not always pleasant to tell. But, not ripping away the curtain allows the lie of “safe and effective” — the agenda to depopulate — to continue and grow.
I agree. If something fails miserably and is shown to cause another set of huge problems it should be stopped immediately – period. Do no harm. Their intention is clearly to do the opposite – to do harm. It is always best to know the truth. We are in a war with many fronts.
