Any honest study of the Bible must acknowledge that man, as God’s special creation, has been blessed with certain “human rights.” Any true student of the Bible will be stimulated toward ideals such as equity and justice and benevolence. America’s founding fathers put it well: “all men are created equal . . . endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” Such a statement accords well with Scripture. The Bible says that man is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Because of this, man has a certain dignity and was given dominion over the rest of creation (Genesis 1:26).
The image of God in man also means that murder is a most heinous crime. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, / by man shall his blood be shed; / for in the image of God / has God made man” (Genesis 9:6). The severity of the punishment underscores the severity of the offense. The Mosaic Law is full of examples of how God expects everyone to be treated humanely. The Ten Commandments contain prohibitions against murder, theft, coveting, adultery, and bearing false testimony. These five laws promote the ethical treatment of our fellow man. Other examples in the Law include commands to treat immigrants well (Exodus 22:21; Leviticus 19:33-34), to provide for the poor (Leviticus 19:10; Deuteronomy 15:7-8), to grant interest-free loans to the poor (Exodus 22:25), and to release all indentured servants every fifty years (Leviticus 25:39-41).
The Bible teaches that God does not discriminate or show favoritism (Acts 10:34). Every person is a unique creation of His, and He loves each one (John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:9). “Rich and poor have this in common: / The LORD is the Maker of them all” (Proverbs 22:2). In turn, the Bible teaches that Christians should not discriminate based on race, gender, cultural background, or social standing (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:11; James 2:1-4). We are to be kind to all (Luke 6:35-36). The Bible gives strict warnings against taking advantage of the poor and downtrodden. “He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God” (Proverbs 14:31).
Instead, God’s people are to help whoever is in need (Proverbs 14:21; Matthew 5:42; Luke 10:30-37). Throughout history, most Christians have understood their responsibility to aid their fellow human beings. The majority of hospitals and orphanages in our world were founded by concerned Christians. Many of the great humanitarian reforms of history, including abolition, were spearheaded by Christian men and women seeking justice.
Today, Christians are still working to combat human rights abuses and to promote the welfare of all people. As they preach the Gospel around the world, they are digging wells, planting crops, giving clothes, dispensing medicine, and providing education for the destitute. This is as it should be. There is a sense in which the Christian has no “rights” of his own, because he has surrendered his life to Christ. Christ “owns” the believer. “You are not your own; you were bought at a price” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). But God’s authority over us does not negate God’s image in us. Our submission to the will of God does not annul God’s command to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). In fact, we serve God most when we serve others (Matthew 25:40).

The incubation period for Ebola virus infection — BEFORE symptoms appear — is between 2 and 21 days. This means that a person can be “asymptomatic” and STILL be infected with the virus.
The “asymptomatic” passenger was deplaned in Montreal — but the REST of the passengers on the plane WERE ALLOWED to fly to their original destination — DETROIT. This also means that the REST of the passengers AND the crew of the Air France flight were cooped up with this “asymptomatic” passenger for HOURS while the plane flew from Paris before being diverted to Montreal.

So, these happened yesterday in the Chez Yours Truly immediate neighborhood:
First incident: A woman jogger / runner was running along the golf course path that abuts the Chez Yours Truly property backyard. She was going West to East on the path (in other words, right to left in my sightline.) This was before 8AM. Suddenly, there was loud barking from that d@mned German Shepherd next door to me. The barking faded away but still audible. It turns out that the dog “got loose” from the property next door, chased the woman ALL THE WAY TO THE GOLF COURSE CLUB HOUS (about 1/2 mile away from me), AND ATTACKED HER, BITING AND SCRATCHING HER. Golf course was alerted. Sheriff’s Office and Animal Control were called. Animal Control IS NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS / HOLIDAYS HERE.
Second incident: Another woman was walking her small dog on the golf course path, going from East to West (in other words, left to right in my sightline.) This was at 8:15AM. Suddenly, there was ANOTHER loud barking from next door to me — from the OTHER dog that lives there now, a Labradoodle. I saw this OTHER dog, who also “got loose”, run off the property next door and towards the woman and her dog, chasing them and barking. The woman and her dog got away as fast as they could, but the Labradoodle kept chasing them and barking — this went on until they left my sightline (in other words, the road that bisects the golf course about 1/4 mile from my property.)
This is ON TOP OF another incident, that happened last November: yet another neighbor, an older woman, was chased by the German Shepherd next door (who “got loose” again) as she was walking on the golf course path. This woman FELL AND BROKE HER ANKLE SO BADLY THAT SHE STILL CAN”T WALK PROPERLY AND IS IN PHYSICAL THERAPY.
It’s time, IMO, for the German Shepherd to be removed from the property next door due to being a Vicious Dog. The Labradoodle either must be secured and watched at all times when it’s outside the house next door; or, also be removed from the property.

The owners sounded like asshats IIRC from little Solas ordeal. Civil damages mean suing them. All expensive and time consuming with the animal still in their possession. I wouldn’t trust people like that to not retaliate in some form or fashion.

The Labradoodle scratched the owner of the dog that she was walking when the Labradoodle “got loose” and chased them. It is unclear at the moment whether the woman was knocked down or if she fell while getting herself and her dog away from the Labra, but apparently the woman was also covered in mud by the time she and her dog managed to get away.
And, guess what? Labradoodles have an aggressive streak.
The MD says they’re going to process the release for today. Don’t know the timing yet, it’s undoubtedly determined by the work loads of the people involved in the approval chain.

Thank God for His Blessings
We look at our country these days and see
All the bad things that happen to be:
Lies, corruption, thievery and fraud,
But we’ve seen the Light and so we thank God.
Thank God that we have enough to eat,
That we don’t have to live on the street,
That we have water, are secure and warm,
In wind and rain, we’re safe from the storm.
Thank God for our friends and family,
That we choose work, there’s no slavery,
That after work we can rest or play,
And feel some contentment for our day.
We tend to lose sight that we’re truly blessed,
Living in comfort, not poor and oppressed,
While life’s twists happen and we feel deprived,
Others on this earth must fight to survive.
Their churches and homes may be burned down,
And they could be burned, tortured or drowned.
Worshipping God will threaten their death.
“All praises to Him” at their last breath.
No food, dirty water, oppressive heat,
Sickness, disease, and filthy, dusty streets,
Babies and kids, bloated stomachs and flies,
Grotesque skeletons, no hope in their eyes.
Or living inside wearing old gloves and coats,
Bone-chilling cold, all alone and remote,
Old and sickly, and medicine is rare,
Dying alone with nobody to care.
There are ways to help the poor, to be sure,
Though it’s unlikely that there’ll be a cure.
We should help in many different ways,
‘Cause the poor will be with us all our days.
From these situations, we can all learn
To look at our problems with less concern,
And realize as our lives pass by,
But for the grace of God go I.
We truly thank God for we have His wealth,
Our work, our families, and our health.
On top of these blessings, there’s a big plus,
Great riches in heaven wait for us.
For God’s our Provider, blessings from Him.
He chose us as His and freed us from sin.
God’s Holy Spirit has marked us all
And gives us strength that none of us fall.
For it’s God’s promise on which we depend,
And it’s by Him we stand firm to the end.
God’s given us all, including His Son;
Praise Him forever! May His will be done!
Let us gather around God’s holy throne
To give all the glory to Him alone,
And worship Him with thanksgiving and praise
For His blessings through eternity’s days.

“Very dangerous. The pressure could build inside the tank due to heat released from the MM polymerization. If the tank fails, a very nasty BLEVE (boiling liquid evaporating vapor explosion) could occur and the release will not just be MM but methacrylic acid and many other harmful decomposition products (methacrylic acid being the most simple of them). The tank apparently was not equipped with proper controls and a “kill solution” of polymerization inhibitors that could have stopped the chain reactions before they lost control. Tense, tense situation.”

Anyone in that area should LEAVE ASAP!
How long might it take to resolve itself by either blowing up or cooling? Is it something that can take weeks?
It either blows soon (next couple of days) OR it starts cooling down as the reaction runs it’s course. Polymerization at temp is usually pretty fast. I never worked with that particular polymer though.

COMMENTARY FOR 1 JOHN 4:7
Believers cautioned against giving heed to every one that pretends to the Spirit. (1-6) Brotherly love enforced. (7-21)
7-13 The Spirit of God is the Spirit of love. He that does not love the image of God in his people, has no saving knowledge of God. For it is God’s nature to be kind, and to give happiness. The law of God is love; and all would have been perfectly happy, had all obeyed it. The provision of the gospel, for the forgiveness of sin, and the salvation of sinners, consistently with God’s glory and justice, shows that God is love. Mystery and darkness rest upon many things yet. God has so shown himself to be love, that we cannot come short of eternal happiness, unless through unbelief and impenitence, although strict justice would condemn us to hopeless misery, because we break our Creator’s laws. None of our words or thoughts can do justice to the free, astonishing love of a holy God towards sinners, who could not profit or harm him, whom he might justly crush in a moment, and whose deserving of his vengeance was shown in the method by which they were saved, though he could by his almighty Word have created other worlds, with more perfect beings, if he had seen fit. Search we the whole universe for love in its most glorious displays? It is to be found in the person and the cross of Christ. Does love exist between God and sinners? Here was the origin, not that we loved God, but that he freely loved us. His love could not be designed to be fruitless upon us, and when its proper end and issue are gained and produced, it may be said to be perfected. So faith is perfected by its works. Thus it will appear that God dwells in us by his new-creating Spirit. A loving Christian is a perfect Christian; set him to any good duty, and he is perfect to it, he is expert at it. Love oils the wheels of his affections, and sets him on that which is helpful to his brethren. A man that goes about a business with ill will, always does it badly. That God dwells in us and we in him, were words too high for mortals to use, had not God put them before us. But how may it be known whether the testimony to this does proceed from the Holy Ghost? Those who are truly persuaded that they are the sons of God, cannot but call him Abba, Father. From love to him, they hate sin, and whatever disagrees with his will, and they have a sound and hearty desire to do his will. Such testimony is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
