We have a policy of mutual respect, shown by civility. Civility encourages discussions, promotes objectivity and rational thought in discourse, and camaraderie in the participants – characteristics we strive toward in our Q Tree community.

Please show respect and consideration for your fellow QTreepers. Before hitting the “post” button, please proofread your post and make sure you’re addressing the issue only, and not trying to confront the poster. Keep to the topic – avoid “you” and “your”. Here in The Q Tree, personal attacks, name calling, ridicule, insults, baiting and other conduct for which a penalty flag would be thrown are VERBOTEN.

In The Q Tree, we’re compatriots, sitting around the campfire, roasting hot dogs, making s’mores and discussing, agreeing, and disagreeing about whatever interests us. This board will remain a home for those who seek respectful conversations.

Please also consider the Guidelines for posting and discussion , outlined here https://wqth.wordpress.com/2019/01/01/dear-maga-open-topic-20190101/

Let’s not give the Internet Censors a reason to shut down this intellectual haven that Wolf has created for us.

The Storm is upon us.
Please remember to Pray for our President.

AND WHAT TIME IS IT?
TIME TO DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!

Our movement is about replacing
a failed and CORRUPT political establishment
with a new government
controlled by you, the American People.
~ Candidate Donald J. Trump

Also remember Wheatie’s Rules:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

And,

On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, you can find something here that will build you up a little . . . give you a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God;
do not mourn nor weep.” . . .
“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet,
and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared;
for this day is holy to our Lord.
Do not sorrow,
for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The Christian life is supposed to be a life lived by faith. It is by faith that we enter into the Christian life, and it is by faith that we live it out. When we begin the Christian life by coming to Christ for forgiveness of sin, we understand that what we seek cannot be obtained by any other means than by faith. We cannot work our way to heaven, because nothing we could ever do would be sufficient. Those who believe they can attain eternal life by keeping rules and regulations—a list of do’s and don’ts—deny what the Bible clearly teaches. “But that no one is justified by the Law in the sight of God is clear, for, ‘The just shall live by faith’” (Galatians 3:11). The Pharisees of Jesus’ day rejected Christ because He told them this very truth, that all their righteous deeds were worthless and that only faith in their Messiah would save them.

In Romans 1, Paul says that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power that saves us, the gospel being the good news that all who believe in Him will have eternal life. When we enter into the Christian life by faith in this good news, we see our faith grow as we come to know more and more about the God who saved us. The gospel of Christ actually reveals God to us as we live to grow closer to Him each day. Romans 1:17 says, “For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’” So part of the Christian life is diligent reading and study of the Word, accompanied by prayer for understanding and wisdom and for a closer, more intimate relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.

The Christian life is also supposed to be one of death to self in order to live a life by faith. Paul told the Galatians, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). Being crucified with Christ means that we consider our old nature as having been nailed to the cross and we choose to live in the new nature, which is Christ’s (2 Corinthians 5:17). He who loved us and died for us now lives in us, and the life we live is by faith in Him. Living the Christian life means sacrificing our own desires, ambitions, and glories and replacing them with those of Christ. We can only do this by His power through the faith that He gives us by His grace. Part of the Christian life is praying to that end.

The Christian life is also supposed to persevere to the end. Hebrews 10:38-39 addresses this issue by quoting from the Old Testament prophet Habukkuk: “Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” God is not pleased with one who “draws back” from Him after making a commitment, but those who live by faith will never draw back, because they are kept by the Holy Spirit who assures us that we will continue with Christ until the end (Ephesians 1:13-14). The writer of Hebrews goes on to verify this truth in verse 39: “But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.” The true believer is one who believes to the end.

So the Christian life is one lived by faith in the God who saved us, empowers us, seals us for heaven, and by whose power we are kept forever. The day-to-day life of faith is one that grows and strengthens as we seek God in His Word and through prayer and as we unite with other Christians whose goal of Christlikeness is similar to our own.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Tony Heller could not catch a break for DECADES under the UniParty. His Twitter account was massively suppressed by TPTB. For some reason, they backed off. Now, he’s not only getting lots of respect on Twitter – he’s even gotten a first comment here. Life is good!

Gail Combs

Tony is a good guy! I spent years on his blog until Trump ran for president. Then I migrated to the Conservative Tree House, then here.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

There seems to be a mental virus among the top climate skeptics that Trump is accidentally right on many things, but that he’s stupid, wrong, or a chump on the rest The “Trump is a baby” and “Trumpneedsta” mentalities. Zero belief that Trump might be smart or strategic.
Do you have any idea where that comes from? Is it just a byproduct of even a peripherally academic mindset?

pgroup

What did Sweden do with all the imported rape-u-gees? Haven’t heard about them for awhile.

kea

They gave that group priority. If they were sick they got to go to the hospital and the medicine and anything else they needed. The Swedish citizens got nothing.
The kids have school because they didn’t want to stress parents who might be stuck at home and can’t get along.
The Swedish don’t really care for the elderly. They send the nice foreigners to ummm help.

singularzoe

I like Voluntarily, a piece of this that so often gets lost or discarded.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

GREAT point!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

However, Tony isn’t very good at understanding politics – particularly at Trump’s level. I gave up long ago getting him to see strategy.
Here is a tweet where Tony is “concerned” about Trump pushing for speed on vaccines.
This is a very simple exercise in 64-D chess.
How is Trump winning here?

People need to read Sundance’s new post. Think he has met with Pres. Trump and 8-15 may be huge. Pray for our country and for Pres. Trump and family. We all need to be on high alert this week. I sound as if I might know more than I do, just passing on what I gleaned from comenters there and from friends.

TheseTruths

Are people saying he has met with Pres. Trump?

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Sundance rumors are starting to blend, IMO. I think some which are purposefully wrong are being promoted by shills, including WuMao (Chinese trolls), Brock types, Eeyores, CIA, NeverTrump, etc.
They’re really pushing “anti-Pence” stuff.

TheseTruths

SD came after all the commenters, hard, in the comments section of that thread, saying people were missing the point and focusing on the wrong things. When you ask questions and present a mystery, though, it is human nature to speculate and try to solve it.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I was hoping SD would do that – I missed what you’re talking about (I saw the thread very early). Yeah, he has opened up for speculation, and some of the speculations are (IMO) intentionally WAY TOO BIG for the simple reason of undermining the message when the real stuff comes out.
Here is another issue tying into the push against Pence from a completely different angle, but yeah, that’s how they work. Pence looking “bad” from two different situations = “believable”. Note that Pence would be “too big a fish”, and thus a way to call the likely person that SD reveals “puny”.
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/south-dakota-gov-reportedly-made-replica-mt-rushmore-president-trump-added

singularzoe

Just want to clarify, I wasn’t talking about Pence rumors, and I can’t find Sundance’s come-back comments, which I tried to find. I was just talking about people saying Sundance may have met with Pres. Not even saying it’s true. Just want to clarify what I wasn’t saying. Agree about Brock types. Evil.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

No problem! I was talking about the wild theories EVERYWHERE about SD’s mystery and mystery trips. They are literally all over the place, including SD + Trump, Pence is the bad guy, Gauhar is the bad girl, certain legislators are the bad guy, SD met with [fill in the blank], etc. Wild stuff, much of it far beyond what I think he proved.

singularzoe

Well, S.D. stoked the curiosity a about where he went and what he was doing and whom he met with. If he didn’t want people to conjecture, he should either have been up front or kept quiet.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

AMEN!

Aubergine

Well, what the hell does SD expect? He pushed all of the intelligent commenters out! Many but not all are here now. Others, like Ristvan, who I just loved, are nowhere that I know of.
SD wants to be a guru, and have all of his commenters “get it,” but he couldn’t take the heat from smart people, so now he has dumb ones.
Boo hoo, I’m playing the world’s smallest violin for him right now.

cthulhu

Ristvan is occasionally at WUWT as a poster.

Aubergine

Thanks!

singularzoe

TheseTruths, wonder if you could post a link to that Sundance comment. Can’t find it.

Here is the comment:

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN the replies and comments on this post.
99% of what is important completely missed by every person commenting because they choose to focus on the “trump whisperer” part. Now do you see why it was so easy for Mueller to play us for fools?.
For three years people have chased the wrong thing. This thread is a prime example of how easy it is to do that. Remarkable.

singularzoe

Thank you, TheseTruths, for posting. I didn’t comment over there, but S.D. is kind of annoying to say things like this but not explain just exactly what he Does mean.

TheseTruths

I agree. He does not name names or explain the bottom line of things in his article, then finishes it by talking about a mysterious person who has supposedly been influencing Pres. Trump. But then he expects people to “get” what he meant in the article and to realize that the “whisperer” is not the issue. There is no clear communication.

TheseTruths

IMO, those pushing the anti-Pence theory are not thinking it through. Casting any doubt on Pence right before the election, let alone casting him as a black hat who has been influencing Pres. Trump to make bad decisions, would be disastrous for Pres. Trump. We can’t lose sight of the main goal right now, which is to keep POTUS in office.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Exactly. Divide, divide, divide. People are not using their brains.

patfrederick

this was posted in the Presidential thread there…
The great @paulsperry_ confirms that disgraced FBI agent Peter Strozk’s assistant, a woman named Katherine Seaman, was married to Vice President Mike Pence’s former chief of staff, Joshua Pitcock. Did the FBI spy on Trump from inside the White House? https://t.co/qhkmJGDAIU

Aubergine

I don’t think Pence is a snake.
I think Lindsey Graham is. I think he is a “gate-keeper.”
I don’t know if he is THE snake, but I think it’s about 70-30 odds that he is.
I guess we’ll see soon enough, if SD follows through.

TheseTruths

I don’t know if there is “a” snake; that is SD’s theory, but I don’t know if he’s correct. I think there are many snakes. It wouldn’t surprise me if he said it was Kellyanne or Ivanka or Jared. But we do not know the motives of people, and proof is paramount.

Aubergine

Agreed!

singularzoe

Regarding Pence, I defended him for a long time–I’m in the I don’t know I hope not camp.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Some R’s are going to get it, IMO. Especially after Halper’s student went public saying “D + R” are behind this, and of course Halper being a fake R “high-and-dry” Soviet spy (IMO).
I think the potential “error value” of SD’s release just dropped a whole bunch. He may just be delivering the coup de grace on one or more Rs.comment image

duchess01

At all – not even in the slightest measure – imho – this is stupid – why would anyone want to separate the team – except – of course – for damage control?

pgroup

How exactly would that be disastrous for DJT? I can’t accept that any exposure of covert bad actors could splash negative on DJT. I would see the opposite – that DJT has a plan and his timing is critical when ‘showing’ big things.

TheseTruths

Many people who are not nearly as aware as we are would question Pres. Trump’s judgment and ability to lead, and the media would take anything like that and blast negative headlines about Pres. Trump from now until election day. There are enough people who are on the fence who could be easily swayed, I believe. POTUS does not need scandals or unnecessary negative publicity leading up to the election.

singularzoe

Yes, they are saying Sundance met with Pres Trump at Bedminster. He met with many others in leadership, I know from what I have read from there.

TheseTruths

Interesting. But SD himself has not said that? I’m “suspicious cat” on it, to be honest.

singularzoe

I am sorry for any confusion I may have inadvertently caused. Admit I was also mesmerized by a comenter mentioning August 15 as some sort of reveal.

TheseTruths

No need for an apology. It is just as I thought, that some people are speculating. Because SD has surrounded everything in mystery, some people believe he is so influential that he could meet with the president. (And they take his every theory as fact.) He allows such speculation to take root. I have strong doubts about it, but I could be mistaken. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

grandmaintexas

He does have the ability to dazzle. 😁
That said, he is just like the rest of humanity, sometimes wrong.

singularzoe

Psalm 2 is such a comfort right now.

singularzoe

Thank you, Carl. Interesting. It doesn’t say if they were given zinc, which is also important, I think.

Linda

I’m noticing that they didn’t include zinc in the HCQ/AZ treatment. That seems to happen in a lot of these studies, which means they are missing one of the important components.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I looked in the paper and could find NO mention of zinc. That’s important – I’ll explain in a different reply.

Gail Combs

In statistics it is called Confounding.
Confounding variables

Summary
A confounding variable is a variable, other than the independent variable that you’re interested in, that may affect the dependent variable. This can lead to erroneous conclusions about the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. You deal with confounding variables by controlling them; by matching; by randomizing; or by statistical control.
[The example is funny…]
.
.
.
It is easy to imagine that any difference in insect damage between American and Princeton elms could be caused, not by the genetic differences between the strains, but by a confounding variable: age, fungicide treatment, fertilizer, water, pruning, or something else. If you conclude that Princeton elms have more insect damage because of the genetic difference between the strains, when in reality it’s because the Princeton elms in your sample were younger, you will look like an idiot to all of your fellow elm scientists as soon as they figure out your mistake.
On the other hand, let’s say you’re not that much of an idiot, and you make sure your sample of Princeton elms has the same average age as your sample of American elms. There’s still a lot of variation in ages among the individual trees in each sample, and if that affects insect damage, there will be a lot of variation among individual trees in the amount of insect damage. This will make it harder to find a statistically significant difference in insect damage between the two strains of elms, and you might miss out on finding a small but exciting difference in insect damage between the strains.
Controlling confounding variables
Designing an experiment to eliminate differences due to confounding variables is critically important.

.
.

Idiot?
OR
You look like a bought and paid for liar.

pgroup

Please explain your closing statement. I doubt you’re calling wolfie a liar yet it reads that way.

singularzoe

PGroup, think Gail was talking about how studies are undermined, not about Wolfie. Hope I haven’t misunderstood your question. I should probably stay out of this. Lol.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Here’s the actual article:
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.07.07.20145979v1.full.pdf
You will see that there is no mention of zinc, and that’s critical, because zinc could actually be a factor here, as well as many other things.
They did NOT run the ivermectin study and the “only HCQ/AZT control” at the same time. The non-ivermectin HCQ study was simply done BEFORE the study WITH ivermectin. Zinc was UNCONTROLLED. This means that simply changing the food in the cafeteria could change the results.
Not just that – there could have been other changes at the hospital, that we don’t know about.
So some differences, take with a grain of salt.

wheatietoo

Thanks for another inspirational and uplifting Sunday thread, Carl.

But release me from my bands

Gentle breath of yours my sails

Regarding the Floodwatch on China’s Three Gorges Dam:
The ChiComs have declared it “illegal” to report on the conditions at the Three Gorges Dam…and are arresting anyone who tries to post anything about it.
They say it’s “misinformation” — and they have declared it a crime.
So, reports have been scarce the last two days.
I don’t know if that means that things have gotten worse, or what…but the water from heavy rains west of the Dam is probably making its way down to it by now.
In Mike Adams’ Health Ranger podcast, he talks about how many Nuclear Power Plants are downstream from the 3 Gorges Dam.

The mistakes raised alarms with recipients as diverse as election monitors, members of the League of Women Voters and a retired FBI agent. The Center for Voter Information, the nonprofit group that sent the mailers with pre-filled absentee ballots, is now apologizing.
The Center for Voter Information said the absentee application mailings were sent to “eligible voters” in the state and “some of the mailers may have directed the return envelopes” for the absentee applications to the wrong election offices.
The counties impacted by inaccurate mailings included Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Franklin City, Franklin County, Richmond City, Richmond County, Roanoke City and Roanoke County.

laughable! College athletes think they can force colleges to shares revenues with them and issue demands–thinking they are i the driver’s seat…and then the conferences start canceling the season and these “athletes” will have to become students again. get over yourselves!
FTA
But then there are other demands in the letter, which leads one to believe the jocks have grossly overestimated their value. For example, the players want the Pac-12 to distribute half of each sport’s total conference revenue with the participating players. It seems these footballers want to skim the cream off the top and not worry about the infrastructure costs that undermine college sports. Obviously, none is an accounting major.

They ALREADY get paid with a full ride at college cost free.

IKR?
they don’t get it…the privilege they enjoy that students who don’t have athletic skills don’t get–the free ride, the perks.

• Every year, 30,000 to 40,000 Americans die in automobile accidents, yet none of us is willing to give up cars to avoid the possibility of dying in a crash.
• Heart disease kills more than 600,000 of our fellow citizens annually, yet we continue to eat fast food and pack on extra pounds.
• Diabetes puts more than 80,000 Americans into their graves each year, yet we do not ban the use of sugar.
• Close to 50,000 Americans take their own lives annually, yet we have instituted COVID-19 policies that have increased the incidence of suicide to the highest levels seen since the Great Depression.
• Millions of children are infected with influenza each year, and hundreds die from the disease. But we have never closed our schools or insisted on masking the population to prevent the spread of flu.
• Child abuse and child sex-trafficking are at record levels in this country, and many specialists believe that it is due, in part, to our schools being closed while adults are unable to go their normal daily routines.
The CDC estimated that as many as 500,000 people died worldwide from the H1N1 virus in 2009 — the first year that that virus circulated. Overall, 80 percent of H1N1 virus–related deaths were thought to have occurred in people younger than 65 years of age. Despite this, we didn’t close the schools, mask the population, or shut down the economy.
In 1968, the Hong Kong Flu killed approximately 4 million people globally. Not only did we not shut down our economy in the face of that staggering number, but the three-day Woodstock Rock Festival in upstate New York was held in the midst of the epidemic.

North Carolina is usually quite stable.

patfrederick

wow! everybody ok??

Gail Combs

Yes, it just shook the house for about a 1/2 minute. Felt really weird.

patfrederick

that would be scary for me!
when I was growing up, the house across the street blew up–underground gas leak. luckily the older woman who owned the home was not home, so it was not a deadly tragedy–but our house shook from the blast—never forgot it.

Teagan

We spent a month hiking in New Zealand and had quite a few minor earthquakes in the north island. One time we were sitting at the bar in our hotel and all the hanging fruit baskets started a mad dance, the first indication of the quake. Instinct is to grab on and hold tight.
Another time while visiting parents in Oregon, at 6 am a “train” came barreling through the house” or so we thought at the time. They are loud!
But the most interesting is Japan, where earthquakes and typhoons are common-place. I was attending an opera in Tokyo. Almost at the beginning of the performance, the seats started violently shaking…the Japanese people around me indicated it was an earthquake and remain calm. But, in this particular opera there was a big, winding staircase as a major part of the stage set. During the quake it became detached and started rolling across the stage with the on-stage performers scrambling to get out of the path. The curtains quickly closed and there was quite a long pause to not only calm the cast from Slovakia down but to reset the stage. They started the performance over again. (BTW, think of a Slovakian opera company, performing in Italian with Japanese subtitles on the overhead screen…it was a bit surreal for me.)
Trains automatically stop when an earthquake is detected in Japan.

patfrederick

wow!

The Durham area where I’m currently staying felt it. I think an aftershock hit about 5 minutes ago, made a sound like a garbage can being dropped on the roof.

Gail Combs

Then you are not far from me. (We did a birthday party in Durham yesterday evening — NO MASKS!)

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

You felt a 3 but apparently closer to the epicenter it got up into “very noticeable” territory. (Many people don’t notice a 3.)

wheatietoo

Wow. USGS has it at a 5.1…that’s big!
Did you feel it, Gail?
We had a 5-pointer here in OK back in 2009 and we felt it even though it was over 60 miles away.

Gail Combs

It shook the house but nothing fell.

MAGA Mom

Good to have a reminder by mother nature to be prepared …
Hope NC residents have earthquake insurance (& TN too + MO, KY, etc.). We lived in NC (just outside of RTP) for 12 yrs and always had an earthquake rider on our home insurance. It is not automatic. Does’t cost much because earthquakes in the Carolinas are infrequent … but they do happen. See Charleston Earthquake – Huge1
Here in TN we have a seperate policy, $120 a yr. See 1811 when the trees fell, structures collapsed, Mississippi ran backwards and Reel Foot Lake was created by an earthquake/series of earthquakes.
We don’t do much except for having our home owners earthquake coverage, making sure bookcases and cabinets are attached to the walls & securing heavy pictures. Plus, making sure canning jar shelves/storage have a little extra protection so they don’t slide of the shelf, having a low bar around the shelves, just in case.
Additional – knowing how to turn off the water at the house &/or from the main and how to turn off the gas/propane ASAP if a big earthquake comes + making sure propane tanks are secure. Sometimes those big 500 gallon tanks are on slight or significant inclines. Of course, it would take a big earthquake to dislodge them as they are so heavy.
Anyway, things we have thought about as home owners in NC and TN. Think about, take a few actions and get a little info and then forget about & hopefully never need it!

Deplorable Patriot

The New Madrid Fault has had a number of stress relieving tremors during my lifetime. It still could go at anytime, though, hence the stringent building codes here. Even the Arch has enough clearance on both sides that it won’t hit anything if it falls over in a strong quake.

Teagan

If you are ever in Columbia, SC, don’t miss visiting the Capitol Statehouse…it’s beautiful! But, also interesting is something most visitors are unaware of…a wide and deep, stone-filled trench completely around the building to act as an earthquake barrier to absorb the shock waves before they hit the building itself. Think of it as wooded barrier islands protecting the mainland for storms.
If I recall correctly, it wasn’t a modern-day afterthought but was part of the early construction plans.

MAGA Mom

I have been there and had no idea! thanks for sharing

piper567

When the Transamerica Pyramid opened in San Francisco, for 2 wks they had the Architectural Drawings on display in the Lobby.
This structure was built on HUGE Teflon barrel-shaped bearings…so in a quake, the entire Building actually moved.
Very clever.

Teagan

Think that type of architecture design is fairly common today is earthquake-prone areas….new construction in Japan, for example. It would be interesting to see a slow-motion video of a skyscraper swaying during an earthquake…I seem to remember one several years ago when it was first used. Having experienced several hurricanes and watching the palm trees sway almost to the ground, I wonder if, like so many things in life, if man took their clue from nature and adapted it to man-made objects. 😉 spiderwebs, anyone?

gil00

Earthquake insurance here, no one has except those who can afford it. Its about 1000 a year or more.

kalbokalbs

Always figured if there is a horrendous quake where I live, the Feds will be tossing money or low to no interest loans all about.
The one time I did price earthquake ins in CA, the price was obscene. What the insurance covered or did not cover, deductibles made it a poor choice.

gil00

Yep. Still not a good investment.

MAGA Mom

We pay ~$30 a quarter for our earthquake insurance here in TN. Very affordable.
In NC we paid a rider to our State Farm, couple hundred a year at most and I think I am pretty sure it was less than $200. We lived in Durham, just outside of RTP. Our agent had never had anyone request it and wasn’t part of our regular home insurance. Have to add it. Ask b/c you might not be covered for earthquake damage otherwise.
Very affordable in most states where an earthquake is unlikely. Much more expensive to be without it and a big earthquake hits, ruins foundations, etc. and costs of multiple $1,000s.
We have had 2 homes burn to the ground in the last 10 months in our county with no fire insurance/home owners. Left distitute. Expensive to have, more expensive not to have it.
One of the expenses to consider when buying a house.
Mortgage + taxes + full coverage insurance + maintenance (small routine to big like window/door/roof replacements, plumbing/electrical works, etc.) + property upkeep (trees, driveways and more routine like lawn care and building upkeep) = can we afford this house?
Too many just consider their mortgage/taxes. Can always scale back the house to own a house one can afford to insure.
We always do flood insurance too. Same principle.
a) if the insurance is too expensive then the house is too expensive for us
b) if the insurance company knows the liklihood of disaster is that likely then maybe we should move to another location as its not just about the house!
c) if its expensive to insure its even more expensive to be uninsured and dependent on fellow taxpayers for help if/when disaster comes. heck, even with insurance will probably need plenty of help in a disaster!
Just food for thought as I would hate to see online “friends” have an avoidable economic disaster coupled wiht a natural disaster

gil00

Flood insurance is just as expensive and mudslides, floods arent covered under lots of policies. This is California specific. The politics of the left, laws created that force purchases, high taxes, legal requirements for things as simple as a smoke alarm, have made insuring almost unaffordable and little benefit for the extras. Everyone who owns a home at the very least should have some standard coverage.

Aubergine
