Yep. If I have enough Tanqueray left over from G&Ts 🙂 Just about every region here claims “authorship” of bratwurst, but the most popular are Nürnburger and Thuringer bratwurst. The German Wiki lists TONS of them. And they are SOOOOO much better grilled. Here they come wound up like a snail/cinnamon roll, meter/yard-long, on skewers, and on and on. Great that you have a grocery nearby that has them fresh.
We had a great German Metzger across the street from where I worked at HP years ago.. Dittmer’s… highly recommended if you’re out that way. Great food, and a great family and family-run shop… Their smoked Turkeys at Thanksgiving and Christmas (or by special order) are beyond compare…

Am disappointed that all of the audio on the video is between Maria and Doug Meade, Fox historian…
I was hoping to hear the actual candidates engage with each other… think it would have been enlightening to young people today to know that adversaries were at one time actually CIVIL to each other (sign)
Also interesting and educational would be William F. Buckley squaring off with Gore Vidal (or just about anyone, for that matter), or David Frost interviewing folks. DIck Cavett was also quite an interviewer when he wasn’t quipping too much…
What’s missing today, in large part, is respect, common courtesy, and common sense. Here’s hoping and praying that they make a comeback, and soon!

After the Flynn hearing I am somehow dreading the debate.
The unfairness and vileness of our enemies can be shattering to those who have chosen the God who is love.
So many times I have held onto my ipad and clutched the collective virtual hands of other posters as we have endured election nights, hearings, press conferences, and now once again debates together.
Often, I can’t watch or listen but I want to “be there” for the President and Patriots. I am so grateful for the courage and strength of those who do and report on these events for the rest of us.

As a few of you may recall, I have never had cable, don’t watch regular TV, except for streaming movies. Frankly, I don’t know how you all can stand watching TV…
Either I’m more empathic than even I realize, or I have not been exposed to it for so long (decades actually)…
but… I would not be able to take it for even a few hours..

If there is anything you saw tonight that would help the President in the next debate I think he needs to hear it. He needs feedback from the people who love him and he needs to hear how he can improve and what is important to us.
I think it would be good email him and let him know. There is a place for that on the official White House site, and I have to believe that someone looks at those and hopefully compiles them and brings that feedback to the attention of someone higher up.
If the President gets enough feedback to (i.e.) prepare better (based on a couple of comments OT) or list more of his accomplishments for Obamacare or Black Americans then the hope is that they would be compiled and passed on and given attention.

A long time ago, there used to be this late night informercial on TV with a con man claiming to be a “televangelist.” I put that term in quotes because the real point of the informercial was to beg viewers to send him money. And by “beg,” I mean he’d stare into the TV and repeat the same NLP phrases over and over as an attempt to hypnotize his late night viewers who were probably already in an altered mental state from being sleepy, drunk, or high.
That’s exactly who Biden reminded me of tonight. Even the bizarre choice of wearing a high-contrast, colorless outfit reads (to me, anyways) as an attempt at hypnotizing the viewer. The jail stripe tie is the same type of repeating, black-and-white pattern used in hypnosis. (It also fits right in with the rest of the Left’s use of parallel lines in their messaging). They even made the man’s eyes darker to emphasize the contrast. The colorless outfit, staring into the camera and repeating the same lies over and over…I strongly suspect Joe’s handlers really were attempting psychological tricks here.

Were any of you all getting the strong ZAPPING of the television? At several junctures our TV just went nuts – almost blacked out – zapping sound like an electrical short – missed a word or two in some cases – but it also gave me a kind of neural shock, too. Oddly, after one, I had negative thoughts about Trump – that he reminded me of somebody else – a completely different person with black hair, younger. VERY strange. I was wondering if it was a subliminal dropped in, not at the source, but somewhere out in the NETWORK.
I watched the Fox News livestream on Youtube without issue. I first tried watching it on POTUS’s official Youtube channel, but their livestream was too blurry. I’m assuming Youtube HQ was intentionally degrading the video quality.

Great thinking. There may be a way to illuminate the tie with polarized light and see “invisible writing” on it. I do think the tie was used for standard hypnotic effects, but AND LOGIC says maybe other things, too.

HOW BIDEN CHEATS
Big picture for me is that Trump proved he’s fast on his feet and can actually react to things, AND how Biden is cheating.
Trump was obviously WAY faster on his feet. Biden could only look good with CANNED SPEECH. On his feet, Biden is confused. A few insults was all he had. He kept going back to “he has no plan” – clearly BS – but only for a while. Note that Biden could not hold that theme for even a full hour – more like half an hour.
Trump’s method of attacking Joe Biden by numerous interruptions was a brilliant way to demo how the cheats work.
Trump’s method of sparring with Chris Wallace was how he demonstrated that the questions were unfair and designed to hurt Trump and help Biden.
Trump UPENDED a rigged debate, so that it looked nothing like it was SUPPOSED TO LOOK.
Here is how the cheats work. This is how they ALL have worked from the beginning.
Biden relies on VERBAL COACHING to keep on track. Biden has somebody one one or both ears who can remind him of the missing word – who can begin a short pitch to “kick-start” him into a long-term memorized spiel. It ALMOST looks natural, but not quite. They “talk him along. We’ll get to that in a moment.
Biden has been caught THREE TIMES with earpieces – first the clear thin one over the ear, then the “bugs” that fell off his back standing outside next to the field, then the “flat” flesh-tone jobs. He was probably using the latter this time. Somebody on Q Tree saw something briefly, but you don’t need to see the device itself to tell Biden is relying on verbal cues.
If Trump leaves Biden alone, then the combination of (1) getting the questions ahead of time, plus (2) his practiced spiels, and most of all (3) the coaching when he hits a rough spot, allows Biden to FAKE a much higher degree of competence than he really has.
When Trump interrupts, it creates FOUR PEOPLE TALKING – Biden, Wallace, Trump, AND whoever is on the earpiece. This confuses the heck out of Biden, so he just STOPS and waits.
Trump’s interruptions frequently change things enough that the coaches have to listen as well and re-advise, so Biden has to just sit there and delay his response until he gets fresh coaching. You can see Biden trying to listen – he closes his eyes. and concentrates on the coaching and remembering the correct advised spiel.
When Trump did NOT interrupt Biden, you can STILL see him react to the coaching, but it’s different. He appears to correct himself without “sentiently” understanding what he’s doing. Biden gets very mildly confused by correcting according to instructions and then trying to resume. You can see the look on his face – he’s “looking in” to the corrections in his earpiece – he’s visualizing the voice of the coaching words.
When Biden is NOT corrected by the earpiece coach, he loses track – he loses his train of thought. Those are the times he goes into wandering thoughts and sentences that jump track. When he’s getting the coaching, Biden can almost – ALMOST – make it through a canned mini-spiel without derailing.
Trump really threw off Biden’s canned emotion-grabber mini-speeches. Trump showed us a couple of times that he can do canned spiels, too, but more importantly he only once or twice allowed Biden to gain any phony momentum using these illegitimately pre-rehearsed, illegitimately coached answers to illegitimately leaked questions.
Basically, Trump SABOTAGED THE CHEATS – not using an electronic jammer on the earpieces – but by forcing Biden out of his phony lane of fake competence with interruptions.
Yup…there was a lot more going on in that debate than we’ll ever know. Most people will just see the surface stuff…but there was some serious mind tricks going on tonight…a lot will come away saying that the whole thing was silly and meaningless or annoying…but, as the Dilbert creator would say…we are watching a master persuader.
Biden came away looking extremely weak. Two more debates will bury him.

My wife was angry, too, but she wasn’t really sure where to direct the anger. She didn’t like that the debate was so unruly, and initially thought Trump was “doing it wrong and losing votes”, but when I explained how Trump was breaking up Biden’s cheating earpiece speeches by interrupting them, the focus of her anger shifted to Biden and the fact that the cheating is allowed.

This was my first impression, too…but Gutfeld and Watters criticize dopey Juan Williams all the time…and Geraldo Rivera and Dan Bongino are allowed to go after each other all the time…many other examples…so this argument doesn’t hold weight…many other examples, too. If the next argument is that Chris Wallace is a “news” person as opposed to an “opinion” person, I’m gonna lose my lunch. It’s all theater fakery.
These two are heavy hitters, Harry – the other ones – we are used to hearing the spats among them – Bongino has never held back – he can be brutal at times – Wallace has longevity – and prominence – a seasoned water carrier – as does Hannity and Ingraham – so with some – it is ok – others – not so much – imho

I didn’t watch the debate (way past my bedtime).
However, the French radio talk show I listen to this morning discussed it. One of the panellists watched it. He said that it wasn’t that great. Biden wasn’t as bad as he had anticipated but wasn’t very good, either. He did not think Biden had a plan for his presidency.
He said that the US is in real trouble if all an incumbent and a past vice president can do is exchange barbs on national television.
He was shocked that most of his American friends in France, whom he described as ‘Californian and zen’, are planning to vote for PDJT this year.
Another panellist, who didn’t watch it, said he has never known the US media to treat another American president as shabbily as they have PDJT: totally biased.
One of the show’s hosts added that the French media haven’t treated PDJT any better. (Also true.)
Here in the UK, we have two Trump twitter trends: #VoteHimOut and a news thread about his ‘refusal’ to condemn racism. Total rubbish, but did we expect anything else?
In closing, I just checked the Daily Telegraph headlines. One columnist thought Biden won. Another said that Trump won.
