ACTS 5:27-33

27And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, 28saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” 29But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30The God of our fathers raised Jesus whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.” 33When they heard this they were enraged and wanted to kill them.

PSALMS 34:2, 9, 17-20

1I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 8O taste and see that the LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him! 16The face of the LORD is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

JOHN 3:31-36

31He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth belongs to the earth, and of the earth he speaks; he who comes from heaven is above all. 32He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony; 33he who receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true. 34For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that he gives the Spirit; 35the Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. 36He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.

Arguably the best thing he ever wrote.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Time to put the shoe on their other foot.

Brave and Free

This won’t as much get a peep in the Fake News, doesn’t fit their narrative.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yup. But I think that this case, and the other in North Carolina, need to be “shot back” at the Kansas City case at every opportunity.

Brave and Free

This one they’ll (politicians) use to go after g*ns, even though there throwing one of there own under the bus.

Kari Lake:

Ran into Joe & Mika from @MSNBC

at the airport. @joenbc

was fairly nice, but his wife @morningmika

started recording me, called me a “Liar” & said I was “Delusional”

They constantly lie & disparage me on National TV. I wonder if they’d be brave enough to have me on their show?

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Love Kari. Despise Morning Joke and Handler.

TheseTruths

How rude of Mika to say those things to Kari. I wish they would have her on their program.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

She’s definitely threatened by Kari.

TheseTruths

Kari is never at a loss for words and can win probably any debate. I don’t think there’s a chance of their inviting her on, much as I’d like to see it.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Exactly. Not gonna happen. The whole reason for Mika and Joe is to control the narrative.

nikkichico7

Yeah, good. 😎👍‼️

TheseTruths

As I write that, I’m thinking our side WANTS people to have the courage to call out liars to their faces (Schiff, Schumer, Pelosi, Biden…the list is endless). The difference is that a lot of Dems really are liars, while Kari Lake is not.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

The “WEF” label isn’t helping him with MAGA voters either. I hope he is as patriotic as he seems. He could be an effective leader going forward.

No confusion now. 🙂

ROBERT BAKER

Believe what you see them do not what you hear them say. Deception is a cultivated tactic. It is designed to go unnoticed.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I think that it’s part of the WEF scheme.

  • Spot a new leader who they want on the team
  • Declare new leader is a “Young Global Leader”
  • Invite new leader to WEF shindig
  • [massive MK]
  • Publish submissive presentation by leader
  • Keep leader “informed” of what is needed

Don’t think it’s ever a good idea to attend WEF stuff.

Aubergine

AND it makes me question our side’s automatic dismissal of anyone labeled as a “Young Global Leader.”

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

In the PAST, before WEF was outed as a bad guy, nobody had any reason to decline the label. But I am highly suspect of ANYBODY who made the trip to Davos, because of the risk of having been subjected to individual advanced MK techniques.

Ivanka is a great example. Not sure if she went to Davos, and I know she loves and supports her father, but her knee-jerk feminism, and her apparent refusal to accept that there even MIGHT HAVE BEEN a stolen election, make me think that she is – no matter what – “on the team”.

Thus, I *still* give automatic side-eye to anybody who got the “award” and didn’t reject it outright.

Did Tulsi Gabbard go there and make a speech? Did she stay in provided accommodations? How long was she there? I have questions. And I will retain suspicions until those are answered.

LOL!!!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah I had to make a concerted effort to bookmark em and organize the bookmarks…and I did it in “split browser” so basically the VMs that surf the web don’t have direct access to bookmarks (another VM lets me look them up and push the URLs to the browser VM).

One thing a lot of hackers LOVE to find out is what you have either bookmarked or open.

cthulhu

I partially mitigate this by having a completely separate computer (located in another room) dedicated only to online banking. But, yes, it deserves more attention than I give it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I won’t even DO online banking though not because I remain afraid of MY machine being hacked, but rather of theirs having their passwords stolen. Prime target and there have been plenty of “financial institutions” having that happen to them.

cthulhu

I use RSA fobs for online banking. That’s the little keychain guys that have six digit “random” numbers that change every 15 seconds or so. Costs about $25-$50 to set up per financial institution. It is not well-advertised that they are available for individuals (I knew about them from being a Corporate Controller). Much better than 2FA through an insecure cellphone.

cthulhu
SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

If I *did* do online banking you can bet I’d have a dedicated qube for it.

One whose browser start command included the bank’s website, and whose firewall restricted anything but that.

It would not be connected to the bookmark machine. (This VM I am using right now isn’t, either.) And it also wouldn’t have my bank password installed; I’d have to type it in every time.

Store passwords in a browser?!?!? I may have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night…..

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Uh, if I wasn’t clear…I *don’t* do that.

However, a browser on a qube that never visits but that one site, I could at least imagine without total panic storing the password on it. But I won’t.

Nebraska Legislature passes permitless concealed carry bill
https://www.klkntv.com/nebraska-legislature-passes-permitless-concealed-carry-bill/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter_Channel8ABC

After passing three rounds of debate, the bill will go to [Gov.] Pillen, who supports the bill.

When he signs it, Nebraska would become the 26th state that allows people to carry a concealed handgun without a permit.

scott467

Because nobody has to get PERMISSION to exercise a RIGHT.

Valerie Curren

THIS!!!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

At least some times, the “allow” only applies to state residents. They continue to honor out of state permits for others.

Someone put forth a bill to do that here in Colorado. it literally left ALL of the concealed carry permit language in place…then added one paragraph exempting almost everyone. How about just striking all that fucking language, assholes, and debloat the Colorado Revised Statues?

cthulhu

Even better, how about following the Constitution and stating that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, while further clarifying that all current state laws infringing such right shall be null and void and that no state resources shall be used to assist any other entities from infringing such right.

Last edited 1 year ago by cthulhu
SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Well, yes…there’s that!

Actually many western state constitutions have even stronger language than the 2A: to the effect that the right shall not be called into question.

But then they say, however this won’t be construed to protect the practice of concealed carry . In other words, the state constitution protects OPEN carry but not concealed carry. Except in Denver, which blatantly bans OC and the state courts won’t do anything about it.

scott467

“But then they say, however this won’t be construed to protect the practice of concealed carry . In other words, the state constitution protects OPEN carry but not concealed carry.”

______________

Which again makes little sense.

The firearms instructors I’m aware of usually argue against open carry in most circumstances, primarily because it makes that person a target.

Essentially, open carry is more dangerous — for everyone — than concealed carry.

If a bad guy is going to commit a crime, the first person he’s going to shoot is anybody who might be able to stop him, and that means the guy wearing a gun visible on his hip.

Second, considering all the lunatics and drug-addled zombies who are no longer cared for in mental institutions, having a firearm in plain sight is also a firearm that some crazy person might try to grab.

Open carry also makes the kind of people who usually oppose the exercise of gun rights ‘uncomfortable’, and considering most state legislatures have liberal weenies outnumbering Constitutional conservatives by a wide margin, it’s strange that they’re not ‘sensitive’ to that sort of ‘discomfort’.

I’m sure there are other reasons, all of which make it curious that any state would favor open carry over concealed carry.

kalbokalbs

Personally, I favor “carry”, open or concealed.

“Carry” being optimal.

TradeBait2

Let’s just say I keep my concealed carry permit active. I agree with the instructors and I live next door to a former Army Ranger/law enforcement weapons instructor who agrees and does likewise.

I am not against open carry, just find that it may make a person who does so a target. I see both sides of the issue.

I like making leftists uncomfortable no matter the situation. They need to completely understand they will not be tolerated.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That caveat is a historical relic. Open Carry used to be customary and common; anyone pretending to be unarmed but concealing was assumed to be up to no good.

Now of course the situation is reversed and people react poorly to open carry because even though legal, it’s very uncommon.

Clearly the proper thing to do is to consider both protected as rights…but that’s not what we have.

Valerie Curren

Absolutely…like Camden County, MO (iirc) 2nd Amendment finger in the ATF’s eye!

scott467

“At least some times, the “allow” only applies to state residents. They continue to honor out of state permits for others.”

_____________

That seems inconsistent and silly.

If other states follow the wisdom of CO, then people from other states won’t have permits from their state of residence either, so CO would be seeking from residents of others states a permit which CO itself has deemed unnecessary.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It wasn’t Colorado I was thinking of, but rather Wyoming, which is marked as a “constitutional carry” state but you have to be a Wyomingite.

Colorado isn’t even that good.

ROBERT BAKER

I have never applied for a CCW permit but since every state has a mechanism (one way or another) for application and reciprocity with other states. As I was thinking about that topic I speculated why there would be individual restrictions on a state level for a right guaranteed at the federal level. Does anyone care to offer their opinion on why that might be?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Originally the BOR was conceived of as only applying to the Federal government. (A couple of states hung on to their established churches for instance.) Only after the passed of the 14th amendment did we start seeing the legal doctrine that the bill of rights could be “incorporated” at the state level but that has been done piecemeal and the SCOTUS only did this for the 2A fairly recently. So as understood before, a state constitutional RKBA statement was in no way redundant; it prevented the state from passing restrictions that they wre allowed to pass even if the Federal government could not. (Not that it makes any difference if people ignore it, anyway.)

ROBERT BAKER

Just so I am clear on what you said: In the original understanding of the BOR the rights recognized by the federal government were not binding at the state level. Therefore the Constitutional liberties were only mandated between the citizen and the federal government and could be legally ignored at any other government level unless the other government entity expressly tied itself to the BOR. Is that about right?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That is my understanding. Unless the Constitution said “No state shall…” a prohibition applied only to the Feds.

Yes I heard that on the radio and immediately picked up the “unintended complication”.
Of course the intended complications are meant to come out over an extended time period and be masked as known ailments.

The AstraZeneca and the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 “vaccines” use viral vector technology, as compared to the mRNA-based technology used in the Pfizer-BioNTech and the Moderna COVID-19 “vaccines.” The 32-year-old psychologist died after getting “vaccinated” with the AstraZenca product.

However, IMO, here’s the thing that likely ties these COVID-19 technology platforms together (and, including the technology used in the Novavax COVID-19 “vaccine”) — the PRRARSV “backdoor key” sequence that Yours Truly believes was inserted into the genomic code of the original Wuhan Hu1 (SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19) virus.

In addition, the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 “vaccine” contains ethanol and HBCD (a “brominated flame retardant” used in making upholstered furniture and thermal insulation.)

The Fact Sheet for Healthcare Providers for the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 “vaccine” specifically warns (in a Black Letter Warning statement at the top of the document) about the potential for Thrombosis and Thrombocytopenia Syndrome occurring after “vaccination” with the product.
http://www.fda.gov/media/146304/download
Revised March 13, 2023

The Fact Sheet for Healthcare Providers for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 “vaccine” also warns about the potential for Thrombocytopenia and “coagulation disorders.”

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.

AMEN.

When the US Army in Korea finally broke out of the Pusan Perimeter and began to advance north they would often come across dead North Korean soldiers that had been chained to their machine guns.

kalbokalbs

Interesting. Did not know that.

para59r

comment image

scott467

So the people who chained them to the machine guns, how did those people retreat, without being shot by the people they just chained to the machine guns?

para59r

Can only imagine that these machine guns would appear to have had been hard emplaced and any normal use of a machine gun incorporates hard stops/limits to make sure you don’t fire beyond the bounds set. Mostly used for night fire.

The book only described that the NK had to be killed in place as they were chained to their guns.

kalbokalbs

Send in the Abrams, Leopards… What Could Go Wrong.

RAC

And further on in that article it explains why the armed forces in Sudan were fighting each other, I never could understand what the heck was going on there.
Now it’s obvious, one sides globo, the other is not.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

WWII the NKVD would station people behind the front lines and shoot anyone who tried to retreat.

para59r

So did the Union Army and Southern Army, and all the Armies that fought in say the Napoleonic Wars and all the way back to swords shields and spears time. Not all but many used those tactics.

Example you were immediately flogged or in some cases killed for simply flinching when you saw a cannon ball about to stream into your little tight square of men on the battle field. The theory born of experience being that flinching could set off panic in the ranks and such was not tolerated. How well these kinds of tactics were maintained would likely depend upon how well a unit could maintain discipline in the face of great adversity. These are coercive measures of motivation and are not considered to be the best method of motivating troops but often used in large armies where the commander of the army can view his troops in battle. The more units had to spread out across terrain and be fielded by lesser commanders the more other methods of motivation were relied upon.

You’d of course remember Roman’s having to decimate their troops in the case of a unit loosing a fight.

The study of principles of motivation have long been a subject of study for generals, princes, kings and such since time immemorial, and everything under the sun has been tried at one time or another.

I didn’t know about the canons and muskets era punishments, but it does sound like some (not all) of the cases you described were well after the battle.

In the particular case of the NKVD, they didn’t bother court martialing you; if you were running towards them they shot you.

para59r

The one about the canon balls were during the battle.
It was important to keep the formation tight, as the calvary(sic?) was coming in right behind the canon balls and would tear up a unit that could not maintain it’s square.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Also very critical with pike formations.

(Yes I caught where you said immediately; I was talking the more general case.)

If I’m a Ukrainian soldier, and I hear about ONE instance of that, Zelensky becomes the only target.

Similar questions have crossed my mind. All these men being press ganged off the streets, why don’t they wait till things get noisy then shoot the officers and nco’s prior to surrendering.

As I have said before, any of these criminals could be caught on video raping a child, and who would arrest them?

Suppose Brandon put his hand inside a little girl’s blouse, or pants, while he was sniffing her hair and licking her ear, like he always does?

Who would intervene?

Who would put their hands on him?

Who would prosecute him?

Nobody.

Sad Truths.

“A North Carolina 6-year-old and her parents were shot Tuesday night by an angry neighbor who fired at them after a basketball rolled into his yard, a report said.
Kinsley White was wounded along with her mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, and father, William White, when a gunman opened fire around 8 p.m. in Gaston County after he became enraged about the bouncing ball, according to WSOC-TV.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yup. REALITY.

IF ONLY to deprive the CRUMPS of ammunition, good people need to be maximally informed about the laws of self-defense, so that they don’t shoot until they’re legally protected.

Indeed. There are more disparaging articles about the old guy shooting the kid today, but almost none on these 2.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Can’t be said enough, IMO.

Aubergine

Some days I am just speechless. I can not believe what is happening in the world right now. I have been a RATIONAL REALIST my whole life. Now I believe in demonic possession and the return to society of ancient, malevolent entities, AKA gods (I don’t like to call them gods, as I think it lends them too much legitimacy, but oh well).

It’s stuff like this that convinces me:

“The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is using a women’s health grant to provide funding for a study that is actively recruiting 18-year-olds to experiment with the “unknown” cardiovascular side effects of removing young males’ testicles.

According to Fox News, the study is seeking 18-year-old men who have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, the mental illness which leads individuals to believe that they are somehow the “wrong” gender.” The experiment will involve 30 young men who are interested in undergoing the orchiectomy procedure, also known as “surgical castration.””

https://amgreatness.com/2023/04/20/nih-funding-an-experiment-to-remove-18-year-olds-testicles/

To reiterate, OUR GOVERNMENT is funding a study to CREATE EUNUCHS.

God help us, because nothing else can.

On another note, maybe these morons should read “Cry To Heaven” by Anne Rice. It’s a great novel about the 18th century Italian castrati. It’s very sad.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yup. This is pretty shocking. The American elite, featuring their legion of Mengeles, are scumbags of the “highest” order.

singingsoul1

What doctor does this? Psychopaths.

mollypitcher5

A grant like that would likely have to go through many hoops before authorization…all those opportunities for someone to say no, hell no.
First off they’re using a womans health grant for a study on men. Second, they don’t give a flying flip about side effects. They deliriously want to do the surgery and watch these maladjusted men like lab rats. They get off on it I think

Aubergine

I think they do, too.

TheseTruths

“Power trip” is definitely a factor.

singingsoul1

They should experiment with pedos and castrate them.

singingsoul1

Society is going backwards instead forward lesson learned from the past.

Aubergine

Agreed.

Aubergine

This has long been a dream of mine. Maybe the Supreme Court, where it will certainly end up, will uphold it:

“On Tuesday, the Florida State Legislature passed a bill that would enact the death penalty for those who are convicted of sexually abusing children.

As the New York Post reports, the bipartisan bill passed in the Florida State Senate by a margin of 34 to 5 on Tuesday night, after previously passing in the Florida House of Representatives by a 95 to 14 margin last week. The bill would apply to anyone who is convicted of abusing a child below the age of 12, and would also allow the death penalty to be handed down by a jury vote of at least 8 to 4, rather than a unanimous jury vote as previously required.

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) is expected to sign the bill into law.”

https://amgreatness.com/2023/04/20/florida-passes-bill-enacting-death-penalty-for-sexual-abusers-of-children/

I still won’t vote for Wind Sock for President, however.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I have mixed feelings, because theoretically it might cause abducting child abusers to kill their victims automatically, but in most cases they already do anyway.

I suspect that overall this change will do more good than harm, so YES.

singingsoul1

I am not for killing castrating yes. Put them into the experiments and cut their testicles off. I know it might be a crueler punishment than death.

TheseTruths

I suppose this would only apply to such crimes committed in Florida. I wonder if it would apply to any of the “untouchable” higher-ups who always escape justice (and still might; just wondering if this might give them pause).

singingsoul1

No mercy because they show no mercy to the children.

Aubergine

I agree. And as someone who has lived with the results of the abuse all of my life, I know what they take from them.

Raise a Hallelujah-Bethel Music-Lyrics

Amadeo (Still My God) by Ryan Stevenson [Lyric Video]

LYRICS:
[Verse 1]
Life can take our breath away
Tragedy can leave a wake
A broken heart won’t ever beat the same
Pain can stop us in our tracks
Losing what we can’t get back
Shaking the foundations of our faith

[Pre-Chorus]
No matter whats in my way
No matter the battles I face

[Chorus]
You are still my God
You’re still my rock
My only hope Lord
You’re all I’ve got
In every valley or mountaintop
I’ll say hallelujah
You’re still my God
You’re still my God

[Verse 2]
The questions keep us in the fight
The answer’s never black or white
We may not know until the other side
But even in this in between
We fix our eyes on what’s unseen

The shadows never overcome the light
No matter whats in my way
I know that You won’t ever change

[Chorus]
You are still my God
You’re still my rock
My only hope Lord,
You’re all I’ve got
In every valley or mountaintop
I’ll say hallelujah

[Bridge]
You’re still my hope
You’re still my peace
You’re still my joy
You’re all I need
You’re still my strength
When I am weak
You’re still my God
I still believe

[Chorus]
You are still my God
You’re still my rock
My only hope Lord,
You’re all I’ve got
In every valley or mountaintop
I’ll say hallelujah

You’re still my hope
You’re still my peace
You’re still my joy
You’re all I need
You’re still my strength
When I am weak
You’re still my God
I still believe

Amedeo
Amedeo is an Italian given name meaning “lover of God”, “loves God”, or more correctly “for the love of God” and cognate to the Latin name Amadeus and the Spanish and Portuguese Amadeo.

How to say Amedeo in sign language?

Psalm 16:2 I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.”

Psalm 31:14 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, “You are my God.”

God bles each and every one here and their loved ones abundantly .. ✝️

And thank you for everything.
God bless you W0lf and your family abundantly always

God WON

Romans 8:31-39
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?
32 He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?
33 Who shall accuse against the elect of God? God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that shall condemn? Christ Jesus that died, yea that is risen also again; who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? or distress? or famine? or nakedness? or danger? or persecution? or the sword?
36 (As it is written: For thy sake we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)
37 But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.
38 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

comment image

The report from the British Parking Association noted that some electric cars weigh more than double what popular models in the same segments did in the 1960s, due in part to their heavy battery packs. This also often applies to contemporary cars.

For instance, a Tesla Model S weighs over a thousand pounds more than a gas-powered Mercedes E-Class, while a 9,000-pound GMC Hummer EV is 2,400 pounds heavier than the similarly-sized Hummer H2 that was last sold in 2009.

Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has not been seen publicly since 2013, when he suffered a severe brain injury during a skiing accident in Switzerland.
However, a German media outlet Die Aktuelle recently ran a front-page story claiming it had landed the first interview with the F1 legend.

“No meagre, nebulous half-sentences from friends. But answers from him! By Michael Schumacher, 54!” the magazine wrote. After the “interview” with Schumacher was published in the magazine, though, it was revealed that the article had been generated via artificial intelligence.

An AI program called charatcter.ai produced the article about Schumacher, and the piece included “quotes” about the legendary driver’s health status.

“I can with the help of my team actually stand by myself and even slowly walk a few steps,” one of the fake quotes read.
“My wife and my children were a blessing to me and without them I would not have managed it. Naturally they are also very sad, how it has all happened. They support me and are standing firmly at my side,” another false quote stated in the article.

para59r

I believe they are terming this as “AI Hallucinations”, where the AI actually believes the things it’s saying. People are very worried about this in that the delusions and lies can continue grow and AI’s reporting and solutions could reach genocidal heights.

mollypitcher5

Uh yeah, it all seems monumentally dangerous to me.
If I was getting the gist of the articles about this particular thing it sounded like the fact that it was AI generated wasn’t even documented in the publication until the family spoke out. It’s going to get to a point where we won’t know what is truth about anything.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

The current AI’s reach vastly exceeds its grasp, and it’s NOT a good thing.

From the article:

Recently appointed special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis are expected to be filing paperwork to dismiss the charges soon.

It means that the details of the incident are set to be investigated further, and the case could be resurrected in the future.

Baldwin’s co-defendant and Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is still facing the charges against her.

This will keep the probe into the accident open and allow prosecutors to retain subpoena power going forward.

Last December, @elonmusk sent out his viral tweet about Fauci.

Fauci went on Fox News and said he had “no clue what [Elon] was talking about.” pic.twitter.com/L0RIZVRsEO

2. “A lot of people are spouting out a lot of things about me and Twitter,” Fauci told Fox News. “I’ve never had a Twitter account. I don’t intend on having a Twitter account, and I’ve had nothing to do with Twitter. So I don’t know what they’re talking about when they say that.”

3) Fauci made similar claims, during multiple exchanges, in a 7-hour deposition, where he denied using Twitter or even knowing how to access a tweet.

4) But in an internal Twitter report in March 2021, the company revealed “Dr. Anthony Fauci did an account takeover for @WHOCOVIDResponse.”

This runs contrary to Fauci’s public statements and sworn deposition given on Nov 23, 2022.

5) According to this tweet, Fauci took over the White House COVID-19 Response account again, in April 2021.

6) Fauci was beloved by Twitter 1.0

Elon Musk tweeted last December that former employees had an internal Slack channel unironically called “Fauci Fan Club.” (pssst, don’t disagree w/ Fauci)

7) Attorney Angela Sherrer, who left when Musk sought to buy Twitter, praised Fauci as “the leading trusted voice about the COVID-19 response in the United States.”

8) Angela Sherrer was no small fry at Twitter. According to a deposition by FBI agent Elvis Chan, Sherrer was one of the attorneys he interfaced with on “disinformation” at Twitter.

9) Twitter didn’t just rely on the voices of prominent physicians like Fauci. Oddly enough, they also worked with Big Pharma companies and pharmacy chains to shape vaccine marketing campaigns.

10) In December 2020, Twitter announced they would begin removing and labelling tweets that contained vaccine “misinformation” especially concerning COVID-19 vaccines.

11) During that same time frame, Twitter began working with Johnson and Johnson on a COVID-19 vaccine “marketing strategy” and with CVS pharmacy to promote approved narratives.

12) By the summer of 2021, Johnson and Johnson began a full court press to market a ton of their products on Twitter, including a controversial antidepressant.

I visited The Crows Nest yesterday, I like it and reading Sylvia, Grandmaintexas. It’s piling the family into the station wagon and driving out to the country.

I share a lot here with my sister and two of my brothers … so they’re happy to receive the awesome information you all bring here, thanks.

JUST IN: House Republicans Pass Bill to Ban Transgender Athletes in Women and Girls’ Sports

The bill was passed on a party-line vote of 219 to 203 with all Democrats voting no. AP reported it has little chance of becoming law because the Democratically-controlled Senate would not support and the White House has said that President Joe Biden will veto it.

Dems are waging a war on women.

Nor'easter

Sad state of affairs when we have reached the point of needing to “legislate” such NONSENSE.

If women in sports had any BALLS (pun intended !), they would STOP trying to compete with men, and form their own leagues, with their own rules.

The problem would then solve itself.

This just SUCKS.

“My Pillow CEO and founder Mike Lindell has been ordered by an arbitration panel to pay $5 million to a software forensics expert who debunked claims that China interfered in the 2020 presidential election in a “Prove Mike Wrong” contest.

Lindell presented the challenge in 2021 at a South Dakota “cyber symposium,” in which he said he had data that would support his claims that China interfered in the election and he offered the prize to anyone who could demonstrate the data was not connected, The New York Times reported.”

Really bad news. It will be used to cast doubt on the fact that the election was stolen, as will the Fox/Dominion settlement. I wonder if Lindell can appeal or if there is any possibility of error.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

OR Lindell isn’t really on our side and took a dive to discredit people who dispute the election.

TheseTruths

That would be a shock. I don’t think it’s the case. I think he might be a little too trusting and optimistic.

I tend to agree with you…but any more I find I can’t trust anyone except the ugly dude in the mirror.

Valerie Curren

If you were a Christian you’d Know you can never (fully) trust the person in the mirror 😉

I can trust that he will act intending my best interests–he’s not trying to screw me over. I don’t expect the right/best decision to be made every time.

Valerie Curren

Paul the Apostle, I believe, discussed the flesh vs spirit battle that all Christians face. As a non-believer you are likely not as subject to that battleground to the same degree. Yet, based on your worldview, as so eloquently & consistently articulated here in the Q-Tree, you are much drawn to & aligned with the light & the truth.

What an interesting dichotomy 🙂

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Because what is, is, and there’s no god involved tinkering with it from the outside.

The error the Left makes is that they believe they can change reality by an act of societal will.

The error Christians make is that they believe there’s an authority outside of reality that can change it by mere willpower…and in some cases that they can cajole that outside authority by asking for it.

Nope, reality is what it is and it cannot be changed by an act of will. I say it and many here applaud me, but unless there are other non-believers here (who prudently keep their mouths shut), I’m the only one here who ACTUALLY believes that.

It so happens, though, that reality resembles the Christian picture of it (once rendered sans god) more than the leftist one (which comes, sans god), but that’s not *due to* god. It’s the other way around, Christianity succeeds to the extent it does because what it says about many things happens to resemble reality.

Valerie Curren

Now That is an Extremely Fascinating take. I doubt that I could do the debate justice but it appears that your logic is flawed there.

It would be interesting if one could design an experiment to test the existence of God. I agree that Christians, at least biblically based ones, have a belief system that tends toward reality, because the Designer of reality has shared so many of His principles with us via scripture…

In another reply to you weeks or months back I mentioned that prayer experiment that supposedly showed that the people who were prayed for had better outcomes than those who were not prayed for. Since the patients being prayed for, or not, didn’t know about which group they were in the “placebo effect” should have been eliminated, or at least minimized.

I’ve always considered aspects of scientific inquiry to be flawed by leaving no room for the Possibility of the existence of God & then If He exists that He might be a factor in explaining whatever phenomenon is being examined. From my viewpoint it’s a huge blind spot.

Conversely, Christians would likely be tending toward error when they want to use God as an explanation for Everything & not address the mechanisms & mathematics that deeply underpin the known & unknown universe. I mean yes ultimately God is behind Everything that exists, including evil (or at lease the possibility of evil, which I would guess ultimately is the same thing), but that doesn’t mean that the search for better understanding of the world AND universe around us should have us lazily stop there & not attempt to identify “how” many aspects of reality actually function, to the best of our constantly evolving 😉 understanding…

I think we sort of circled this topic in discussing Intelligent Design a while back. IIRC, ID allowed room for a Creator God or perhaps an outside “alien intelligence” to be an explanation for the origins of life, earth, & the universe. Obviously the “alien intelligence” view would allow for those who absolutely reject God as a being Who exists to still recognize the many evidences that this world/universe has a Design to it & that design implies an Intelligence ultimately behind it.

From my view, & this is in no way meant to offend you so please “forgive” me if it does, in your absolute rejection of “God” you are actually quite near to the realization/revelation that He is–the literal “I AM” revelation to Moses at the burning bush & even Jesus in Gethsemane with the “I AM He” to those who would capture & kill Him.

If/When you ever come to personally accept the Truth of Who He is & bow to His Lordship, you, Just Exactly As You Are will be a Mighty Warrior for the True Everlasting Kingdom, for Truth, Justice, Love, Light, Life, Freedom, Hope, & Brotherhood for you already Champion so much of this already!!! It’s hardwired in your very nature/design & you’ve been refining those skills through constant use!

You are my brother in the battle,& I hope (& occasionally pray) for the day you will Also be my Brother In Christ…

My view above is partly colored by the passage in Revelation chapter 3, addressing the church in Laodicea where God is saying that He would rather they would be hot or cold but not lukewarm. So I’m likely outside “acceptable” interpretation but I see the “hot” like on fire for God, as Christians should be, even though many(/most?) are lukewarm (at best). Whereas those who are “cold” are indifferent to God in various ways. In your honest rejection of God it’s because you don’t believe He exists at all, which is a noble viewpoint if in it you are firmly persuaded (as you seem to be). If you actually believed that God existed but Still chose to reject Him then the flames of Hell would be licking at your heels, imo.

As you seem to be a person who in so many arenas has a pure-hearted pursuit of The Truth if will remain my hope (& occasional prayer) that you will some day come to know Jesus as the Way, the Truth, the Life, & the Light while still in this life…

In Jesus’ Love AND I sincerely mean That!

By the way if you reply to something on a Saturday that is NOT on my Saturday post, I am unlikely to ever notice it. It’ll be in the notifier, of course…along with a couple of hundred things because everything someone puts on a Saturday post gets into my notifier. I tend to just click through them rapidly to clear them.,,and then go to the actual post and read responses.

I only saw this because I happened to spot a Scott comment in the notifier and your plea to Scott for reinforcements.

Likely Scott would have come over here, made some snarky reply, I’d never have known it, and you’d declare victory over the damn stupid atheist who couldn’t answer Scott’s argument.

Admit it that’s what you do every time I don’t respond. You think you must have won the argument and when I continue to be an atheist you then think I am in denial because after all you proved your case last time and that’s obvious from the fact that I didn’t respond.

Let me clue you in. I don’t have TIME to go through days old posts to see if someone is still talking. The notifier will clue me in…provided it’s not buried on a Saturday. And provided you’re not replying to someone else even if you happen to mention me or a discussion we are having. I only by SHEER LUCK noticed you were trying to sic Scott on me.

And there are times I don’t have the time or energy to respond to the same tired, refuted arguments people have been throwing at atheists for centuries, because it’s our experience it’s like talking to a brick wall.

Here’s one: “In another reply to you weeks or months back I mentioned that prayer experiment that supposedly showed that the people who were prayed for had better outcomes than those who were not prayed for. Since the patients being prayed for, or not, didn’t know about which group they were in the “placebo effect” should have been eliminated, or at least minimized.”

The version I heard of that was that some of the prayed-for knew it, and some did not. The prayed-for who knew it did worse. Those who didn’t–zero effect.

There are a lot of side issues here, including those (on the religious side) who claim that trying to do such an experiment is forbidden (You shall not put your Lord to the Test (deuteronomy 6:16)). Which would be mighty convenient, no? An excuse to reject any negative result. (This article is interesting for the way it presents the back-and-forth on such studies; it doesn’t actually have its own opinion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficacy_of_prayer )

It ends with this:

The 21st-century evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, describing how Richard Swinburne explained away the STEP experiment’s negative results “on the grounds that God answers prayers only if they are offered up for good reasons”,[37] finds one predictable result of prayer:[38]

[Steve comment: You see why I think such discussions are pointless. A negative result would simply be excused by an escape clause, just like Swinburne is doing here.

[The following paragraph is the next paragraph in the Wiki article and is the actual Dawkins quote. So it was actually a quote within the Wikipedia article and should be “double quoted” here since I am quoting someone (Wiki) quoting someone (Dawkins), but WordPus won’t let you do that.]

Other theologians joined NOMA-inspired sceptics in contending that studying prayer in this way is a waste of money because supernatural influences are by definition beyond the reach of science. But as the Templeton Foundation correctly recognized when it financed the study, the alleged power of intercessory prayer is at least in principle within the reach of science. A double-blind experiment can be done and was done. It could have yielded a positive result. And if it had, can you imagine that a single religious apologist would have dismissed it on the grounds that scientific research has no bearing on religious matters? Of course not.

(I added the bolding.) He’s absolutely right about that. Dawkins is excellent at calling out hypocrisy.

The simple fact of the matter is, sometimes you get what you pray for, and sometimes you don’t. This is acknowledged of course by the old bromide that “God answers every prayer but sometimes the answer is ‘no'”

Again, how convenient. You can justify either a positive or a negative result. “Oh, the fact that none of them worked doesn’t mean prayer doesn’t work, it just means God chose not to answer.” So in essence there is NO result from such an experiment that would lead you to question your belief because there’s a weasel-out ready when your expectation doesn’t turn out.

A strong positive result in a methodologically solid study, on the other hand, could earn someone a big prize (if nothing else then at least from the Templeton foundation, which was founded by religious people). A scientist would love to go down in history as the one who proved God existed in a way that impressed people who didn’t already believe.

Returning to what I said before: “The simple fact of the matter is, sometimes you get what you pray for, and sometimes you don’t. This is acknowledged of course by the old bromide that “God answers every prayer but sometimes the answer is ‘no'”” (wow, triple nested quotes).

If you were to take a hard, honest look at the history of the results of your personal prayer, you’d recall all of the noes and not just the spectacular yeses, and realize that the chances of a prayer working are exactly identical to the chances of things turning out the way you wanted anyway. So you have a world with a God that answers prayers in a manner that looks exactly the same as random chance…or you have a world where there is no one answering prayers [which wouldn’t necessarily mean no God at all, just that there isn’t one answering prayers] and you get results that look exactly like random chance.

Not only that there’s an excellent theological argument against intercessory prayer too: You’re asking God to alter a plan He put in place before the Creation. With his perfect and complete knowledge, he’d have known, even back then, that you were going to be praying for X to happen, and he’d also know even back then whether he’d be deciding to answer yes or no…which means that his answer, now, is nevertheless planned on, back then. In other words, you didn’t change anything with your prayer, no matter what; you couldn’t have, and that’s a direct logical consequence of an omniscient god who knows the future. Which would not be to say that other sorts of prayer wouldn’t be useful (thank-you-Jesus prayers for instance) but ones asking for God to do something are pointless even within your framework, much less mine.

OK, I’m out. Scott can come by, “whup my ass” in the knowledge I won’t be responding and you can declare victory over the “fool [who] says in his heart there is no god.” (Psalm 14:1, NIV)

You all are polite to me face to face but I know how you talk in church when you think none of us are around. [Though I wouldn’t be too sure of that atheist-free zone if I were you. Many go to church anyway because they don’t want their neighbors ostracising them. There are even non believing pastors (they lost their faith after being ordained) and my heart aches for them.]

Valerie Curren

Hi Steve, I’m replying on the page itself to try to keep track of all you shared that I want to respond to. At the outset let me say I’m pretty tired after 9 hours at the hospital w/ my daughter who was giving birth so I’m likely not “firing on all thrusters” 🙂

your plea to Scott for reinforcements.”

Honestly since I’d raised the issue of flawed logic on your part & then didn’t really build a very logical case in rebuttal I thought Scott Might choose to weigh in & point out Both of our logic flaws. Plus his willingness to engage these type of topics periodically was what made me let him know of the conversation on another day’s thread…NOT wanting him to join me in ganging up on you!

“…Likely Scott would have come over here, made some snarky reply, I’d never have known it, and you’d declare victory over the damn stupid atheist

I have NEVER nor will I EVER look at you that way , if Anyone is “stupid” in our discussions it would Invariably be Me! Whenever you choose not to reply to me on one of those topics I just go “hmmm” maybe he never saw it, maybe he’s bored of the topic for I’m so beneath him intellectually that he’s tired of babysitting me in a discussion, or Maybe I Might have scored a point that made him squirm & move on rather that further engage…only Steve (& of course “God”) knows which it could be…

“…who couldn’t answer Scott’s argument.

Admit it that’s what you do every time I don’t respond. You think you must have won the argument and when I continue to be an atheist you then think I am in denial because after all you proved your case last time and that’s obvious from the fact that I didn’t respond.

I don’t think there has been one discussion between us that I could recall where that was my viewpoint. In another conversation (based on my imperfect recollection) you challenged me asking if I thought I was going to convince you to become a Christian (or something) & I thought I’d said that I don’t have the intellectual capacity to convince you of anything AND I know it. If anything I’ve written in these discussions gets under your skin that Might be God tugging at your heart/mind using my meager offerings in our discourses as a way to reach you. If we’re being honest I would doubt that I have “won” any “argument” between us (though I usually think we are discussing things AND that you typically have a better grasp of Christian theology & scriptural statements than I ever have of atheist viewpoints…& I have very much appreciated when you’ve articulated how some of my arguments (or others’) might come across as offensive, helping me & any others who might read along have increased understanding of your perspective…

The version I heard of that was that some of the prayed-for knew it, and some did not. The prayed-for who knew it did worse. Those who didn’t–zero effect.”

I meant to add that it would be interesting to read the details of the experiments & results as both of our “camps”, Christians & atheists, have obviously latched on to this topic in perhaps “urban legend” fashion…

“So in essence there is NO result from such an experiment that would lead you to question your belief because there’s a weasel-out ready when your expectation doesn’t turn out.”

& the converse is also true it seems 🙂

What you shared about prayer is interesting food for thought & I agree with you to a point…

You all are polite to me face to face but I know how you talk in church when you think none of us are around.”

I’m sorry for what you & your atheistic compatriots have suffered at the hands of Christians. We are “supposed” to be known by our love but hypocrisy & judgementalism are likely more how people outside of the Church (universal) view “us”…I don’t look down on you at all, appreciate your insights & vast knowledge in numerous arenas, AND thoroughly enjoy & am honored when you choose to interact with me…I’m a bit sad that your “message received” in some of these communications is so different than what I thought/intended my “message sent” to entail.

I have no idea if Scott chose to weigh in in this “discussion” or not but I’ll try not to ask anyone else to “tag in” in the future because I don’t want you to feel ganged up on (any more than you likely do by all the overt Christianity on display at the Q-Tree & sister pages). We have to be “live & let live” with each other…& I believe that you’ve acknowledged previously that you recognize “evangelism” to be a “legit” Christian practice per biblical teachings & have been willing to periodically put up with my extremely imperfect pursuits in this arena in some of our conversations, as it were or maybe was…

Best Regards & HOPE your Saturday, including interactions on your post (I have yet to read) were all that you could have desired & more.

I’m going to post this “as is” since I’m so tired, so I’m sorry if it’s not polished enough & if I’ve managed to step on your toes more (again)…it wasn’t & isn’t my intention…

By the way I’ll still pray for you to a God that may or may not exist Who will answer how He wills & may have done regardless if I’d ever had the audacity to ask… 😉

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Man, I was *cranky* yesterday…for various reasons. You didn’t deserve a lot of that. In some cases my words can stand IF only “you” could mean “some of your co-religionists” but of course…it doesn’t.

I apologize.

OK…to begin “& the converse is also true it seems 🙂” (After I complained about weasel outs)

There’s a fundamental difference though.

If some experiment were to show a huge, significant effect [which none has], after double-checking to ensure there wasn’t leakage or some methodological error, a scientist would have to accept it (not all atheists are scientists by any means, nor is vice-versa true).

On the other side, however, a *negative* result can make no impression on someone who will simply make excuses like “God will not be tested.” Positive result? God Exists!!! Woohoo we’ve finally got scientific proof!” Negative result? “God will not be tested.” “God didn’t want to answer the prayers (with a yes) for whatever divine reason…” etc., etc.

In any other endeavor if things don’t turn out based on what you expect, you change your mind as to what’s going on. But not in this one. Because the hypothesis is written in such a way that it has a ready explanation for both a positive and negative result.

Scientists call this the “unfalsifiable hypothesis” meaning there’s no way to prove it wrong even if it actually is wrong.

(A lot of conspiracy theories are like this, actually. If, for example, you were to try to infiltrate the (alleged) consipiracy, succeed in getting into the inner circle of friends of the alleged conspirators, find absolutely nothing going on, and say so, the conspiracy theorists would either a) conclude you got bought out, have joined the conspiracy yourself and are lying to cover it up or b) the conspirators are so clever they saw right through you and made sure you saw nothing. You see how that works? You can’t disprove it even if its wrong, to the satisfaction of those who insist it’s right, because they can explain away negative results.)

[And I need to make clear here that I am talking specifically about intercessory prayer, not other types; an intercessory prayer being one where the prayer is asking a divinity to intercede and change an outcome.]

Meanwhile I’m trying to find “sauce” on this particular study. I’ve heard a lot about it, but can’t find it. I’ve found this: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16569567/

which of course is a suspect source now. But my recollection is accurate: more complications on the part of those who knew they were being prayed for, no meaningful difference otherwise (a 1 percent increase among those prayed for…which if I was the sort of chimp who didn’t understand statistical significance, might make me think it meant something).

This is actually counter-intuitive; the group that knew they were being prayed for was created as a sort of control; the study wanted to see if there was a psychological effect; people get better for psychosomatic reasons. But instead they got worse; as if praying for them with their knowledge was too much pressure or something.

“Conclusions: Intercessory prayer itself had no effect on complication-free recovery from CABG, but certainty of receiving intercessory prayer was associated with a higher incidence of complications. ”

OK, if you are aware of a study that showed an effect amongst those who didn’t know they were being prayed for…bring it. Otherwise as of right now, we have a result that implies it makes no difference (psychological effects aside) but it’s the NIH and I realize that in a post-COVID world that that casts a cloud over this–without a lot of digging I neither have the qualifications nor time for, I can’t tell whether this one was done honestly or not. So we either have no evidence one way or the other…or dubious evidence that prayer doesn’t work.

Valerie Curren

I’m so glad you replied!

” In some cases my words can stand IF only “you” could mean “some of your co-religionists” but of course…it doesn’t.
I apologize.”

Apology accepted! You didn’t need to apologize but the fact that you did removes what had been a degree of uneasiness I’d had in reading through what you’d written to me yesterday in thinking that I’d misinterpreted your willingness to comfortably engage me in affiliated discourse on God vs no-such-thing/person/being as God…& that would make me sad & theoretically less likely to make certain off the cuff remarks to you that I thought were OK. Like your “Thank God I’m an theist” T-shirt level of a sense of humor, which seemed like we could interface light-heartedly & otherwise in these arenas.

“my co-religionists” could refer to plenty of people, including some on the Q-Tree who have historically been pretty dismissive of you/atheism in general. One person, in particular, comes to mind in that camp who I believe is entirely dismissive of me as a person & therefore Never responds to anything I say so I assume considers me as completely “scroll past quickly” worthy. That this person engages in conversation with others on specific threads that begin with my comment but Never interfaces with me, even in acknowledging specific personal uplifting remarks to them makes me feel dismissed in an uncomfortable way. Since they have mentioned the lesser caliber commentors as being scroll-worthy or whatever has got other Q-Treepers’ dander up at times but I just let it wash over me & take the barb with the best humor that I can muster.

I can be pretty obtuse, or alternatively obstinate, when it comes to human relationships. That dismissive “co-religionist” comes across with a distinct lack of humility & an arrogance in their expressed religious dogma that can be pretty demeaning to those of us who view faith differently. This person also rarely chooses to engage the fray when challenged in these arenas by others on the Q-Tree that this person likely also considers scroll-worthy. It’s sad, & could be damaging, but it is what it is so I try to just move along because even if I tried to engage in any of the “controversial” arenas this person would never (I assume) read what I said…or if they read it they’d never respond to me directly since I more or less don’t even exist other than to the extent you acknowledge a tic that’s burrowed in just so you can remove it without leaving it’s head embedded to cause further irritation…OK, moving along…

I’m going to try to reply as fully as I can to what you shared but am a bit limited again since I need to get back to the hospital & help my daughter & newest granddaughter so my son-in-law can leave to go help my husband & sons in moving some of their stuff into their new house…Finally…

On the other side, however, a *negative* result can make no impression on someone who will simply make excuses like “God will not be tested.””

I’ve encountered those type of weaselly Christians who will not engage in discourse on flaws in their thinking or theology who rebuff any challenge with really dismissive dogmaticism or delusional denial of the legit issues raised. They are not much fun to talk with & cannot handle a knock-down, drag out arena of precision guided missle “warfare” (not that I am capable of such pinpoint accuracy w/ the limited munitions at my personal disposal)…OK

Now, sadly I’ve got to run, w/out checking nor completing, if that’s even possible for me, what I might say…so more later (hopefully today)…LOL

as is & yikes to hit send w/out even a Cursory double check so I KNOW my feet of clay aren’t even covered up At All!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

OK, I suppose I should say here that I define “Christian” very broadly. Anyone who claims that he has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior is, to me, a “Christian.”

This means I can let Christians argue over who is really a Christian; I can’t do more than this because I don’t know what’s actually going on inside the profess-or’s head. He might not have accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, or he may have done so but done it “wrong” somehow–but that’s a doctrinal issue, and I will let y’all argue over that. (Consider that Jesus was crucified around 30-33 AD, 1990 years ago, and for about 1989 years there have been arguments over faith vs. works–just for instance. And almost endless arguments over the nature of Christ in the early Church. Come down on the wrong side of such an argument and you are a “heretic” and presumably, therefore, Not Really A Christian.)

(This is distinct from saying “he’s not acting very Christlike” or something like that. That, at least, I could take a guess at, just based on descriptions of Jesus’s personality and character in the gospel accounts. Is this guy acting like that? Yes or no? And I imagine many would disagree with my judgment, whatever it is!)

The “He’s not really a Christian” claim, I have found, is endlessly abused. There is the occasional act of actual violence against an atheist (even here in the US), or death threats, etc. Of course this is outrageous but the curious thing is that there are always those who seem to think it is *far more important* to reassure atheists (or even theists who aren’t Christians) that no “real Christian” would do such a thing, than to actually condemn (much less act against) the violence itself. In other words, they behave as if protecting the reputation of Christianity is far more important than actually stopping the violence. Perhaps they can persuade the perp that he’s not behaving in a Christian manner…I certainly could not; the perp would never take my opinion seriously; I’m automatically wrong if I say the sky is blue, by his lights.

As for the person(s) here who mistreat atheists and ignore you, I can’t imagine the two would be connected even in their mind. Unless they’re ostracizing you just for talking to me. I’m not even sure who you’re talking about (don’t name names!) but of course I can think of two or three here who have been nasty to me on account of my worldview not including Yahweh and a divine Jesus. And a couple who used to be nasty but now aren’t–which tells me nothing about whether they still dislike me or not. (One way I can be obtuse about personal relationships is not spotting patterns that do not involve me. Sure if two people openly fight each other I will see that, but if one studiously ignores another but doesn’t actually act out, I won’t notice.)

Valerie Curren

Intriguing reply to which I’ll respond further later…Maybe tomorrow but it depends on how things go. I’m pretty beat right now after 8 hours at the hospital w/ family so need to regroup before getting back with you.

I have this conversation open in its own tab so will also further address your prior comment “later” after replenishment…

I think they disregard me for other reasons than conversations with you, though if they’ve read me agreeing with some point you’ve made that might be offensive to them I gueass (fortuitous misspelling!) Hope you have a great week…in case I’m too tired to get back to our discussion sooner rather than later. That was foolish on Mike’s part. I thought that then and think that now. I cringed when he made the offer.

#BREAKING: The Judiciary Committee just voted to repeal the ATF’s unconstitutional ban on pistol braces.

Big win for the Second Amendment.

kalbokalbs

Guessing this is binding on nothing at all.

TheseTruths

I can’t find definitive answers on that. This seems to indicate that it could block the fraudministration’s action.

The House Judiciary Committee advanced a joint resolution Thursday that would block a Biden administration rule to strengthen regulations on firearms with stabilizing braces.

https://rollcall.com/2023/04/20/house-committee-advances-disapproval-resolution-on-gun-rule/

However, some people think this resolution would have to be approved by the entire House, then the Senate, then signed by the fake POTUS. But the original ATF ban was not a law, so I don’t know.

TheseTruths

From the House Judiciary Committee page:
https://www.congress.gov/committee/house-judiciary/hsju00

Committees may hold hearings on policy issues and on specific bill proposals, consider and further develop bill proposals through a markup process, and report legislation and recommended changes to the full chamber.

“Report to the full chamber” makes it sound as if this resolution has no teeth in and of itself.

My guess is the House would pass it.

But the Senate would never go along.

BiteMe would veto, as ordered by ValJar AND hussein.

Just add it to the debt ceiling bill?

Trying to remove our means of self-defense, from the time of the Revolution, the day after the Midnight Ride (the 18th) and the Shot Heard Round the World (the 19th):

On April 20, 1775, tensions in Virginia led to the Gunpowder Incident in Williamsburg, Virginia, when Governor John Murray confiscated the colonists’ gunpowder. Tensions with England had been increasing for several years, but when Boston was occupied, her port shut down and the Massachusetts Assembly disbanded in 1774, the colonists rose up in one accord to resist Parliament.

In September, 1774, the First Continental Congress brought representatives from twelve colonies together to form a joint response, one of which was to recommend that all the colonies organize their militias and store up arms and ammunition in case of war. As the Congress met, Royal Governor of Massachusetts, General Thomas Gage, confiscated the colonials’ supply of gunpowder in Charlestown, in an incident called the Powder Alarm, which brought militia from all over New England to march toward Boston. When it was learned there had been no bloodshed, however, the incident died down.

Virginians organized their military companies and stored up ammunition as well, much of it in the public powder magazine in the capital, Williamsburg. Meanwhile, Lord Dartmouth, the Secretary of State for the Colonies, suggested that the governors of all the colonies should take action to prevent these growing supplies from being used against royal officers.

The incident that pushed Governor Murray to action may have been Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech, delivered on March 23, 1775. All the soldiers in Virginia had been sent to Massachusetts after the Powder Alarm, but there were still several Royal Navy ships in the area. Governor Murray secretly brought 20 marines on shore on April 19 and ordered them to confiscate the gunpowder in Williamsburg the following night.

On the evening of April 20th, the marines began removing the gunpowder, but local citizens noticed and sounded the alarm. Peyton Randolph, the Speaker of the House of Burgesses and first President of the Continental Congress, had to persuade the gathering crowd not to burn the governor’s mansion down. The local council demanded the return of the powder, explaining it was their property and not the property of the royal government. Murray said he took it because he didn’t think it was safe where it was located because of rumors of a slave uprising. The crowd then began to disperse.

Word had spread into the rest of the colony, however, and militia groups gathered in numerous locations. Murray threatened to burn Williamsburg to the ground and release all the slaves in Virginia. On the 29th, a large force of 700 men at Fredericksburg was persuaded by Randolph not to march on Williamsburg. On May 2, about 150 men in Hanover County under Patrick Henry did march toward Williamsburg. Violence, however, was averted when Carter Braxton persuaded the government to pay £330 for the confiscated gunpowder.

The Gunpowder Incident happened the day after the Battles of Lexington and Concord began the American Revolution, but before word of these battles arrived in Virginia. This incident shows that the Revolution could have just as easily broken out in Virginia, or numerous other places in the colonies. The entire incident caused Governor Murray to fear for his safety and move onto a navy ship in the York River, effectively ending royal rule in Virginia. Efforts were made over the next year to reestablish royal governance in the colony, but Murray fled permanently in August the following year.

And the fact that British shenanigans happened in multiple places meant that the colonists knew it wasn’t just some weird thing going on in that weird Massachusetts place. (Which is still weird to this day.)

Anyone know anything about Lauren Witzke?

From Wiki, so take it for what it’s worth:

Lauren Elena Witzke (born February 9, 1988) is an American far-right[1] political activist known for her anti-LGBT views and promotion of QAnon.[2][3][4]

There is no “QAnon,” silly. 🤭 There is Q, and there are anons.

Witzke was the Republican nominee in the 2020 United States Senate election in Delaware, which she lost to incumbent Democrat Chris Coons. She is a former TV show host for TruNews.

Witzke was raised Methodist. She is a former drug user who reformed through a Pentecostal faith-based recovery program for which she later became program director. She is a recent Evangelical Protestant convert to Orthodox Christianity, received within the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia(ROCOR), and was a catechumen during her Senate campaign.[35] Witzke has stated she believes in the flat Earth theory.[1][36]

Only scary part for me is the very last. FET. Everything else seems okay unless she wasn’t a serious candidate.

CORRUPT Antony Blinken Was Behind Gathering 50+ Members of Intel Community to Lie and Sign Bogus Letter on Hunter Laptop Being Russian Disinformation

Current Secretary of State Tony Blinken was reportedly behind the effort to put together a list of government intel leaders to claim that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. This narrative was another liberal lie.

According to a report in the New York Post yesterday, it was the current Secretary of State, Tony Blinken, who called an Intel insider to put together a list of Intel leaders who would sign a report stating the lie that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.

The New York Post writes:

“In sworn interview, Morell has admitted it was Joe Biden’s presidential campaign that prompted the infamous letter in which Morell and 50 fellow former intelligence officials falsely claimed that material from Hunter Biden’s laptop published by The Post before the 2020 election was Russian disinformation, sources in the House Judiciary Committee have confirmed.

“Tony Blinken, now secretary of state, was the Biden-campaign foreign-affairs adviser who urgently phoned Morell in October 2020 to suggest the laptop was a Russian plant.”

(I feel like a subject of those man-on-the-street interviews. If someone had asked me, I couldn’t have told them that Blinken was the secretary of state. 😳)

IRS Whistleblower Offers Up Hunter Biden Bombshell

An IRS investigator is offering to provide Congress with evidence that the Biden Justice Department has pulled punches in an investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes for political reasons, and that Attorney General Merrick Garland gave misleading testimony to Congress about the probe.

The career IRS criminal supervisory special agent is seeking whistleblower protections to share the information with Congress, his attorney told a bipartisan group of lawmakers Wednesday in a letter reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. The attorney, Mark Lytle, did not specify the subject of the complaint, but sources say it relates to a tax investigation of Hunter Biden. The U.S. attorney’s office in Delaware has since 2018 investigated the scandal-plagued first son over unpaid taxes, his foreign business activities, foreign lobbying activities, and a gun incident that took place near his home in Wilmington.

Investigations going on five years…

Lytle said his client, who oversees the investigation, has information that will “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee” and shows “clear conflicts of interest” in the handling of the probe. The special agent also has evidence of “preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting” decisions in the investigation.

The allegations are sure to spark a firestorm on Capitol Hill, and could raise questions about whether the administration has interfered in investigations of Hunter Biden’s business activities, which have involved other members of the Biden family.

Ya think? I hope they can prove it.

…The whistleblower has already provided information to the IRS, the Justice Department inspector general, and the Treasury Department inspector general, Lytle said.

CNN reported after the midterm elections that prosecutors were close to a decision on whether to file charges related to Biden’s taxes and the gun incident, which involves whether Biden lied about his drug and alcohol use on a form to purchase a firearm.

They were close to a decision in November of 2022, five months ago. I wonder how much closer they might be now. 😕

That report was a disappointment to conservatives who believe Biden should be charged over his business and lobbying dealings. Congressional Republicans have zeroed in on Biden’s work for CEFC China Energy, an energy conglomerate with ties to Chinese intelligence. The firm paid Biden at least $6 million for consulting and legal services.

A businessman involved in Hunter Biden’s dealings with CEFC China Energy has said he met with Hunter and Joe Biden to discuss the issue in California in 2017. Tony Bobulinski, the businessman, has also said that Joe Biden is referred to as “the big guy” in an email discussing an equity stake in their Chinese business venture. That contradicts the president’s repeated claim that he was not involved in his son’s business affairs.

Unhinged Florida State Rep. Claims Girls Will Cut Off Their Own Breasts If They Can’t Get Sex Change Surgeries (VIDEO)
I haven’t read the article, but we can’t base our actions on those kinds of threats (which I don’t think have actually happened). It’s like a girlfriend or boyfriend saying they will commit suicide if you don’t continue to date them or marry them. Those are difficult situations, but people are responsible for their own actions. They need serious help.

^^^ Russia has evolved and adapted. (Duh)

PROBLEM IS,

:wpds_arrow: Russia had already Evolved AND Adapted, BEFORE engaging Ukraine.

para59r

Excellent Assessment from the Australian General.

From the leak to this Gen Hodges we seem to have a concerted effort to wake up politicians and ask them what do you want to do next or more likely, what they are going to have to do, which is boots on the ground if they want to win this. Thus we are seeing this one step backward in admitting they were wrong all along and if something is not done we loose. Without accompanying admission that Russia was baited into this proxy war, I can’t see it but as an effort to escalate through direct intervention. Here’s to hoping the political class continue to pontificate so Russia can bring this to a close, whatever that looks like. Russia is doing exactly what we would do if the old WARSAW Pact set up in Mexico.

I haven’t looked at this but on the surface it might not be a bad thing if it can cut identity theft.

We have a fundamental stupidity in our system right now where our unique identity (SSAN) is also the password. So if someone knows your identifier, they can pass as you; they don’t need an additional password.

Yet there are far two many cases where you do have to divulge your identifier.

Nor have I looked into it. Don’t plan to.
