A peacemaker actively works toward peace. Peacemakers will find joy in the experience of seeing people reconciled to one another and to God.
What does the bible say?
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus opens with a series of statements concerning blessedness known as the Beatitudes. The seventh Beatitude is “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9). The Greek word translated “blessed” in this verse is one that is also translated “happy.” A blessed person will have joy and contentment. Also, we must understand what a “peacemaker” is. The Greek word simply indicates a person who makes or works toward peace. A person can only work toward peace if he is at peace himself. Believers have peace with God through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). God is the source of peace (Philippians 4:7) and calls His followers to exhibit peace in their own lives (Romans 12:18; Galatians 5:22).
From the old testament
Jesus Himself is called the “Prince of Peace” in Isaiah 9:6. Living as a peacemaker follows His example; He provided peace with God through His sacrificial death on the cross.
King Solomon wisely realized the blessings of having a peaceful heart: “Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy” (Proverbs 12:20).
Solomon also knew that inward peace would flow out of our hearts towards others: “When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” (Proverbs 16:7).
From the new testament
Ephesians 2:14–16 reveals that Jesus is our peace since He reconciled Jew and Gentile both to God and to each other.
Jesus offers this same peace to His followers: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27).
Jesus said that peacemakers are blessed because they will be called sons of God. In other words, they will have the honor of being identified as children of “the God of peace” (Romans 15:33).
To live as a child of God is to have the greatest relationship in the world. It’s a relationship made possible by the Prince of Peace: “for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith” (Galatians 3:26).
Implications for today
A peacemaker actively works toward peace. Whether it’s to provide peace between two people or two nations, our world is in much need of those who represent the heart of God to bring peace to broken relationships. Those who assist in such efforts will find joy in the experience of seeing people reconciled to one another and to God. Every believer should be a peacemaker in the sense of spreading the good news that peace with God is possible. “Peace” was part of the angels’ message to the shepherds when Jesus was born (Luke 2:14). “Peace” is part of our message to the world because God “through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18).
Only children of God can bring the peace of knowing God to others. A person must have a real relationship with God before he or she can help someone else know God. Those who witness for Christ, share their faith with their friends, and serve others in the name of Christ are ambassadors for peace (Matthew 5:9; 10:41–42). Those who bring the wonderful message of God’s peace to the world are “peacemakers,” and Jesus calls them the “children of God.”

I have always suspected that big tech would do a lot more than it claimed and that surveillance and invasion of privacy would always get worse. Information is power, and assurances that one can opt out of a service or that it really isn’t spying on people are, IMO, worthless. I have never trusted Google or Ring cameras or anything “smart” that enables someone else to see my information.
The descriptions I’m seeing—here by Greenwald, yesterday by Aubergine, and others—of AI gathering personal information and using it to “chat” and for various purposes make me wonder if one could ask AI for personal information on someone else. What is to stop the chatbot or agent from combing the internet for all of someone’s social media posts, blog posts, and much more?
This is one of those times when a couple of older guys walk into a clearing and sees a bear, which charges them. One guy starts hobbling away as fast as he can while the other shouts, “you fool, you’ll never outrun the bear!”

While people are cluing in, take it upon yourself to minimize the points where your data can be aggregated. Have several email addresses with several names, birthdays, security questions, and the like. Use each for defined uses only and do not overlap. Don’t give out your cellphone number if you have to have one. If you are going to play with AI, use extreme caution. Consider building your own in-house AI rather than use one that is controlled by others. Take things off the cloud and put them on your internal systems….

Not sure if in the US this is the case, but in the terms of use for any “Gargle” product is a clause noting the usage of two (or more) products of Gargantula is an implied acceptance of data sharing between all of them, and all of Gargle’s partners.
The same is probably true of other vendors (I’m looking at you, M$ and Amaz00n)…
And the amount of illegitimate and often incorrect data being shared is downright stunning. Just think, that garbage is being fed into AI to regurgitate elsewhere…

Google collects more than you know and gains more through correlation.
As an example, let’s say you set up a gmail account on a computer, then use a different gmail account on the same computer to email something you want to have separate…..
Your IMAP access for the second account will have footprints through the first account. These will show up in extended headers at the second account’s recipient. Google will flag the accounts as being related.
The simplest (and cheapest, and most straightforward) way to avoid this is to have one computer use the first account and another completely different computer use the second. When your computers are Raspberry Pi and cost $35, this is easy. If you have a bigger computer, you can run a separate Virtual Machine for each email account.

When you load a page in a browser, it pulls in content from the website in the search bar, but also pulls in bits and pieces from a variety of other places. Frequently these are ad networks, which may be blocked by ad-blockers [at one point, ALL the major ad networks were infested with malware, though not necessarily at the same time]. Frequently, these are bits of code (mainly javascript) meant to be executed on your box.
There are many sources of such extraneous material that are problematic, and it is considered a “best practice” to just flush such material to Hell. This can be accomplished simply in Linux.

My experience is months old when I did have Premium and Grok said it did not store our conversations for future ones. Now, I just have minimum extras that lets me write longer posts but I lost my verification. I pay $3 instead of $40 for full premium or $8 to keep the verification.

It is just a tool, depending on how people interact with it. When I first started as a tech writer, they did a database and accounting software. The CEO had them create a product they called SIMPLE that was English Language Q/A about the accounting data. It was extremely simple and nothing like AI. It could answer simple questions about accounting data.

The reason I’m not surprised by this is that watching even OLD “true crime” shows reveals how many crimes (almost all of them, frankly) are solved by police simply collecting neighborhood surveillance footage, both residential and business. As a side note, there is so much vegetation dumped into these waters that the visibility is typically 6-18 inches. With so many in the US there has to be many that have died. We never hear about them. Are they all young? Do they have big cemeteries in all these places they’ve installed them?

The happy effects of justification through faith in the righteousness of Christ. (1-5) That we are reconciled by his blood. (6-11) The fall of Adam brought all mankind into sin and death. (12-14) The grace of God, through the righteousness of Christ, has more power to bring salvation, than Adam’s sin had to bring misery, (15-19) as grace did superabound. (20,21)
15-19 Through one man’s offence, all mankind are exposed to eternal condemnation. Dear Lord,
We thank you that no matter who is in office you are sovereign over all. We thank you for the system of leadership and governing we have in the United States, and we pray for wisdom in the upcoming primaries and elections. But we pray specifically today for our current president; we pray that President Trump would draw near to you—that he would seek you above all other things. We pray that you would be an undeniable presence in his life, and we pray for godly leadership over our country.

Yesterday morning, he left for a while. I was going through the house, ranting aloud about all the mess, clutter, and just general aggravation that has resulted in this MAN being in the house at loose ends, trying to use up energy that he was using to work (thankfully, it looks like another job IS on the horizon).
I was just mad, because it is amazing how much extra work this has been.
Well, I check my email about mid-morning every day. One of the things in my inbox is a “Proverb a Day.” I kid you not, this was yesterday’s Proverb:

1. If they sue and Massachusetts v. EPA is overturned by SCOTUS, they will need Congress to pass a law ordering EPA to regulate emissions.
2. If they don’t sue and Republicans lose the White House in 2028, a Democrat President could just reissue it.
3. If they are relying on suing the Trump EPA and withdrawing the suit if Democrats win back the White House, they may be too late as there is still almost three years for the litigation to make it to SCOTUS.
