Trump admin. launches official WH app following series of cryptic social media posts

Following a series of cryptic social media teasers that sparked widespread speculation, the Trump administration officially launched the “White House App” on Friday.

The mobile platform is designed to bypass traditional media, offering citizens “unfiltered” access to live-streamed briefings, executive actions, and a direct messaging line to President Donald Trump.

Notably, the app also features a dedicated ICE Tip Line, allowing users to report immigration-related information directly to federal authorities.

“Live streams. Real-time updates. Straight from the source, no filter,” the White House promised from the app in its Friday announcement on X.

Miss the ruckus on Friday?

THUNE, Must Be Shitcanned.

53 R-Con Senators.

  • Three, Thune, Eric Schmidt, AND Bernie Moreno, conspired against 50 R-Con Senators, Trump, The House AND ALL Americans.
  • >>> Cowardly Betrayal. <<<

100% Data Republican’s X below, worth reading every word.

Hello Senator Thune,

At 3 AM on Friday, March 27th, in a near-empty chamber, you passed a bill by voice vote that excludes all funding for ICE and CBP.

Let me repeat that: voice vote. No roll call. No record of who was there. No accountability. Just you, Barrasso, and a handful of senators shuffling paper in the dead of night while America slept. You could have demanded a recorded vote. You chose not to.

You could have held the line for five more days until the House returned. You chose not to.

You could have used the same procedural tools Democrats have used against you for 40 days. You chose not to.

Instead, you gave Chuck Schumer exactly what he asked for, DHS funding minus immigration enforcement, and called it a win. Then you walked to the cameras and blamed the Democrats.

Let’s be precise about what you did:

1. You caved to a demand Democrats made on Day 1 of this shutdown. Forty-one days of supposed hardball negotiation, and you settled for their opening offer.

2. You handed them a template. The next time Democrats want to defund any agency — ICE, CBP, or anything else — they now know: just shut down DHS and wait. John Thune will fold at 3 AM.

3. You punted to reconciliation. “Good possibility,” you said. Not “we will.” Not “guaranteed.” Just maybe. Meanwhile, ICE operates on fumes from last year’s bill with no certainty of future funding.

The precedent you set:

You have argued for months that the filibuster is sacrosanct. That the 60-vote threshold protects minority rights. That we cannot bend Senate rules for policy wins.

But at 3 AM on Friday, you bent every norm that actually mattered:

• Voice vote to avoid accountability

• Empty chamber to avoid debate

• Midnight deal to avoid scrutiny

• Immediate recess to avoid questions

You’ll bend the rules to avoid a fight. You just won’t bend them to win one.

What you’ve actually accomplished:

Democrats demanded ICE restrictions. They got ICE defunded.

Not reformed. Not restrained. Defunded.

And you’re out here tweeting about how Democrats are the “Defund the Police” party while you just voted to defund border enforcement at 3 in the morning.

The question you should answer:

Why did this deal have to happen at 3 AM?

Why couldn’t it happen at 3 PM, with cameras rolling and every senator on record?

You know why. Because you didn’t want your voters to see what surrender looks like.

Here’s my message: We saw it anyway.

Stop hiding behind “Democrat obstruction.” You’re the Majority Leader. You set the schedule. You control the floor. You chose this outcome.

Own it.

Burchette, amazingly calm outwardly. Likely seething inside.

WOW. Rep. Tim Burchett just ripped Senate leadership for even leaving SPEAKER JOHNSON in the dark on the DHS funding deal that omits ICE

So a SHADY deal was made behind closed doors. Now Speaker Johnson is rejecting it! “I’m a little ticked off.

I’m ticked off at the Senate leadership, how they’ve, them and the Democrats, have decided to thwart the agenda of our president!”

“Going home for two weeks, not addressing the SAVE America Act, which is of the utmost importance.”

“We need to get that in. You know, the House has a bill to fund DHS. Of course, we’ll secure the border and pay our TSA agents and fund the men and women who work to protect American citizens.”

“It’s pretty pathetic to go home at two o’clock in the morning, or vote at two o’clock in the morning, and kind of leave, well, not kind of, but really do leave the taxpayers high and dry in this great country!”

“And I don’t blame the rank-and-file members. They have no say-so in it. This is clearly a deal that’s cut.”

“Our Speaker of the House didn’t even know. They didn’t have the courtesy of making a phone call over there.”

“So it’s clear that they don’t want us in the majority. They want to, they want the status quo to continue. They apparently want to open the borders and continue not funding our TSA, because that’s the way their votes have shown.”

“So we’ll keep fighting. We’re still here!”

Unbelievable, Evil Within Our Elected Government.

On the lighter side.

3 teenage girls began screaming for help as the car quickly sank.

Evans immediately sprang into action, diving in to rescue the girls.

When asked where his bravery came from, he replied “God gave me strength, I couldn’t let them folks die.”

Police Officer Gary Mercer assisted Evans with the rescue, but he began to drown as well when one of the panicking victims tried to pull him under.

Despite being out of breath with exhausted legs, Evans swam back AGAIN to rescue both the Officer and the 3rd teen girl.

I like Sharpies. we have them all around the house.

cthulhu

There are regular black Sharpies and industrial black Sharpies, which last longer and can write on damp. Try the industrial ones (red print on body) and you may never go back.

In addition, silver Sharpies are ideal for marking wall-warts and power bricks.

Gudthots

Thanks for the tip on “industrial”
Love silver sharpies!

cthulhu

If only they made industrial silver sharpies!

Here’s an Amazon link for industrial sharpies —

Notice how the writing on the body is red instead of black. Otherwise they look the same.

But the industrial ones resist high temps, water, UV exposure, abrasion, and everything else better than the regular ones.

I found out about industrial Sharpies when The Fiancee was working for a different sub of Newell/Rubbermaid, Sharpie’s parent company. They’d make a practice of circulating products of their various subsidiaries around the organization. I remember seeing stuff for Calphalon cookware and Levelor Blinds.

I read somewhere recently that the real reason industry fled to China wasn’t the cheap labor. It was that the Chinese had modern plants with high tech production lines and Big Manufacturing didn’t want to spend the money to upgrade plants here.

I’m sure I’m missing a chunk or two of the tale but that’s the gist of it.

I believe it because I found out [in the 70s] that Bendix had a patent on disc brakes since 1938 [airlines were using them] yet US cars still used inferior drum brakes.

The reason? Didn’t want to spend the money to upgrade and lose all that fully depreciated drum brake equipment.

Tax policy matters!

Do a search on qui tam lawsuits or false claims lawsuits.

Aubergine

The administration should be publicizing the heck outta this:

Qui tam lawsuits are civil actions filed under the False Claims Act (FCA) by private individuals (known as “relators” or whistleblowers) on behalf of the government against entities committing fraud, according to Cornell Law School’s LII. These cases, often in healthcare or defense, allow individuals to receive a significant reward—typically 15% to 30% of recovered funds—for exposing fraud, notes Phillips & Cohen and YouTube
Key Aspects of Qui Tam Lawsuits

Definition: Derived from Latin, the phrase means the person sues on behalf of the government as well as themselves, say Federal Bar Association and Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto LLP.Process: The complaint is filed under seal, allowing the government 60 days (or more) to investigate and decide whether to join (intervene) in the lawsuit, explains the Department of Justice.Relator Rewards: Whistleblowers, often insiders with knowledge of fraudulent practices, can receive 15%–25% of the proceeds if the government intervenes, and 25%–30% if they pursue the case independently, notes Wikipedia and YouTube.Common Targets: Cases often involve Medicare/Medicaid fraud, defense contractor fraud, and other fraudulent overbillings to the federal government, say Phillips & Cohen and YouTube.Protection: The FCA provides protection for whistleblowers against retaliation, including reinstatement and back pay, notes The Law Office of David P. Strauss
These cases have helped recover over $48 billion in taxpayer money since 1986, according to Wikipedia.

Recently Aubergine and I were discussing “what’s up in Catholicism?”

This new interview is interesting, and the section in this X post is discussing the draw for young people to the traditional.

Gudthots

Full interview of David Henrie.

Aubergine

I hope this comment isn’t offensive, but I’m going to make it anyway. My background and experience, I think, gives me some insight here.

For the last 60 years or so, the mantra of the young has been, if it feels good, do it. They have sought “transcendence” in LSD, magic mushrooms, marijuana, sex, music, you name it. They are looking for an “out of body” experience.

Another way they have sought that “feeling” is magic and paganism. Let me give you a little list of pagan or magical practices:

Light candles
Burn incense
Chant repetitive mantras
Pray to “icons”
Have a “high priest” to appeal to for guidance
Use an “element” (water) in ritual practice
Use “prayer beads” or counters for rituals

Does the above look something like Catholicism to you? There are many similarities.

Young people are flocking to Catholicism because it feels familiar to the paganism they have been inculcated with their entire lives. Good for them, I guess, but none of it is in the Bible God gave us as an instruction manual, or was done by the Person He gave us as a role model.

And the FLIP SIDE to this that NO ONE ever talks about is how easy it is for the pagans to subvert and convert the not-lifelong-Catholic ones later, because of how “familiar” it all is. I even know quite a few “raised-Catholic” people who are now pagan, and still go into Catholic churches to take “holy water” for their ritual magic!

I have nothing against Catholicism, but it has been paralleled, probably on purpose, by paganism for a long time. People should be very careful.

patfrederick

wow…no words.
i will have to think very hard before i respond.

Aubergine

As an example of how pagans use Catholicism, there is a particular saint they use, named Saint Expedite. They “reward” him with his favorite food (reportedly Sara Lee poundcake) if he grants them their “need” expeditiously (note the word “expeditiously” has the root “expedite,” meaning quickly).

There’s a Facebook page and everything:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1303796309706152/

It’s mostly about money, and magic.

This is scary stuff.

Gudthots

I want the authentic.
Understanding and experiencing God’s authentic Word must be first.

Bank tellers are taught to handle the actual coin and paper until they “know” what is authentic.

This is how discernment is developed.

We are to prayerfully study God and his history with his people that we might know God and God’s ways.

Gudthots

What’s scary is when we know more about what the dark side is doing than we do about our own Christian faith and history.

Aubergine

I read the Bible daily. I recommend it. I also love history, so I study where it came from. If you want to read an absolutely fascinating book about the history of Christianity, I am currently in the middle of Dominion, by Tom Holland. Tom is a great writer and historian. He is a “cultural Christian,” I think, but his research is sound.

Aubergine

I prefer the New King James. But I do read others sometimes.

Complete Jewish Bible

Gudthots

Yes! Daily washing with the water of the Word is more than valuable. It gives life in so many ways!

Sadly, much of the early writings of the Church are rarely read by those in the West. For most protestants it’s like they sprang out of the ground a couple hundred years ago with no history past that.

Aubergine

Not this Protestant.

Gudthots

What came first, the practices of the body of Christ, or the deceptions?

Aubergine

What I know is; any “tradition” or practice that is not in the Bible came from man. Where they got them is the question.

When Jesus came to live among us, there were many pagan cultures, with various practices. When the early church was forming, people from those cultures converted the Christianity. But it appears they brought ideas along with them that were “added.”

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with Catholic tradition. What I am saying is, since many pagan religions of today are drawing on ancient practices, many of which mirror the Catholic church, it might explain the back and forth going on in young people with Catholicism and paganism.

Aubergine

Likely. Symbols of fertility.

pgroup2

When I see ‘fertility’ in religious areas, I think it’s a code word for ‘lotsa sex’.

Aubergine

Back in the day, having children was survival. People needed kids to grow up and help with hunting, gathering, planting, building, etc. Modern conveniences didn’t exist, and having labor to hand was a big deal. “Be fruitful and multiply” was a very important admonition.

Gudthots

Hebrews 8:5b (KJV)

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

God gave the Israelites a pattern for earthly worship that included a high priest, deacons, ritual washing, sacrifices, offerings, candles, incense, specific prayers, temple furniture including golden replicas of cheribim, embroidered illustrations on the curtains, special garments with bells and or tassels, specific times to gather, make offerings and share special feasts or repent of their sins.

Is it not fair to say that the prayers and traditions of the early Jewish believers, who already understood these things to be types of Heavenly things, were part of their lives as Christians?

Are evildoers not simply counterfeits?

Last edited 1 month ago by Gudthots
Aubergine

We are getting into some deep weeds here, but ok!

Back when God gave all those things to the Israelites, all of those “accoutrements” were a part of life for most all religions. Sacrifice was common, idols were common, special offerings were common.

This is just my opinion, mind you, but God is kind. He understands the limitations of people. When the Israelites asked for a king “like everyone else had,” God tried to talk them out of it, but they insisted, so He gave them one. He knew it was a bad idea; most of the kings of Israel were awful. But Israel wanted to be like “everybody else.” Without the “special things” that made their religion theirs, many would have, in my opinion, drifted to other, “fancier” religions. Many did anyway (golden calf, anyone?)

God gave Israel the things that a) made them feel comfortable and normal; b) gave them a “framework” to at least attempt to follow to be good, as God wanted them to be; and c) gave them a path forward to live in until the Messiah came.

It’s also possible, again my opinion, that the Catholic “traditions” are allowed/given by God because some people just need that. But those types of things have also come down through ancient pagan religions, which mirror Catholicism in many ways, and here we are.

Gudthots

I don’t disagree. And I’ve seen discussions from the Eastern traditions about this.

Up until the Bishop of Rome (for political reasons) decided he didn’t want to participate in the global conference of bishops, there was pretty much a single Christian Tradition.

It was understood that the beauty of the sacred was created to honor God and to allow hearts to open to God.

There were literal wars over the role of icons. And in the end the church stood on their early viewpoint that they were “windows into heaven.” We were not to honor, pray to, or “believe in” the icons. Icons draw our thoughts and hearts up to the Holy Trinity.

Same with the “communion of the saints” which was chosen to be specifically acknowledged in the Creed.

If you go into an Orthodox Church it will have different art styles and liturgical practices (communion serving methods, etc.), but the same Creed as is found in every Christian church around the world. It is said that going into an Orthodox church is like a time capsule back to the early days of the church.

Same with the Catholic church that started as a split from the global church hundreds of years after the Creed was formalized.

It wasn’t until the creators of the “reformation” decided all of that had to go that we begin to see empty buildings with no art on the walls.

Aubergine

You do know that the Apostles Creed is only a Catholic thing, right? It’s not found in “every Christian church in the world.” Anglicans and Lutherans, but not Baptist, Evangelical, or many other churches.

And there really has never been a “single Christian tradition,” not even early on. There have always been sects that disagreed with other sects. That even happened with the Apostle Paul. Apollos developed a following in Corinth, and division resulted, even though Apollos didn’t want that to happen. Here’s a good explanation of that:

https://www.gotquestions.org/who-Apollos.html

The Reformation was just another, albeit major, split in the church. But the Great Awakening in America, led by George Whitefield, was another. These things have happened many times.

Gudthots

The difference is, while Catholics have a creed that is recited and “set apart,” other Christians do not. That passage from 1 Corinthians is not used as a special “prayer” or anything.

Gudthots

I have nothing against Catholicism, but it has been paralleled, probably on purpose, by paganism for a long time. People should be very careful.

You seem to be trying to reverse engineer the reasons behind why the western form of the liturgical church based in Rome has certain worship practices.

You start with “nothing against Catholicism” and end with “People should be very careful.” in the very next sentence. I think you onto something, and yet, I come away unsatisfied with your conjecture that the church has “probably on purpose” paralleled paganism for a long time.

Just like questions about what were the founding fathers of America thinking when they wrote a passage in the constitution, we don’t have to guess or wonder most of the time. They wrote many letters. The Federalist Papers document the dialogs.

We have the same depth of resources or more when investigating when it comes to the origins of the church’s liturgical practices.

But who are you going to go to for your information?

Do you ask an average Polish Roman Catholic to explain American Baptist beliefs and practices?

Do you ask an average American Baptist to explain what the Assyrian Orthodox Church believes and practices?

There has to be a better way. And I’d like to start with believing the best of motives because there already are enough “influencers” out there telling us that the “elite” rewrote the Bible in order to control the people.

If we can start with hoping that most sincere believers around the world look to their church to help them become better disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that most sincere pastors want that very thing, that seems like a more solid footing.

Aubergine

“You start with “nothing against Catholicism” and end with “People should be very careful.” in the very next sentence. I think you onto something, and yet, I come away unsatisfied with your conjecture that the church has “probably on purpose” paralleled paganism for a long time.”

You have it exactly backwards. Which may be why you are dissatisfied.

Paganism has paralleled the Church for a long time. Centuries, in fact.

The church started out with people from many faiths converting to it. They brought with them many traditions. It appears some of those traditions got incorporated in, as they don’t appear in the New Testament.

But when pagans regrouped, especially in the 1600-1900 time frame, they picked up some of the old pagan traditions, and, purposefully in my opinion, amplified some of the old traditions that were now part of Catholicism. It served their purposes. It made it easier to “convert” people. Satan is wily.

“But who are you going to go to for your information?”

I go to the Bible. Which is why I don’t really understand Catholicism. A whole lot of Catholic practice just isn’t in there. Which is fine; again, not criticizing Catholic practice. I personally just don’t get it, because there’s all this man-created stuff in there, and I have a hard enough time with just doing what the Bible says to do!

I don’t like discussing religion with Catholics, in all honestly. I don’t know for sure that you are Catholic, but I think you might be. The reason I don’t like to do it is perfectly encapsulated here, in this misunderstanding. I’m talking about people being careful of paganism, but most Catholics are so accustomed to defending Catholic tradition, they are defensive of it. Which I get, but I don’t want to deal with.

Gudthots

Oh, I see that I did read it backwards.
That makes more sense to me now. 😯

Like you, I like to research, to read, to learn. I have more love for all of the church as I grow in my understanding of it’s history. My family lines are woven into the early revivals of America too. Methodism in it’s earliest times. Circuit rider preachers. I grew up with a praying grandmother. She also was the first person in her family to get a college degree. She gave me her love for learning.

Yesterday I saw nothing but criticism for what the Senate did, except for one place: Coffee & COVID.

Here’s what Jeff Childers said:
Yesterday, Democrats caved faster than an Alachua County sinkhole. After five weeks without pay, TSA is back. It was bad enough that President Trump had relieved Spring Break congestion by deploying ICE to airports, and even worse, the ICE narrative was fogging up with good PR, when, around lunchtime yesterday— the President increased the table stakes and this happened:
President Trump said he would go ahead and order TSA to be paid, even though Democrats refused to approve the short-term budget authorizing their paychecks. It would have forced Democrats to sue him to stop TSA from being paid, which would have been even worse optics than friendly ICE agents handing out bottled water or, in one case, heroically resuscitating a dead infant. (Good luck finding that story.)
Senate Democrats didn’t even wait a business day before Trump’s checks would have started going out. They waited about an hour. Following Trump’s announcement, the Senate pulled itself together and worked overnight to pass the budget, funding all of DHS except for ICE and parts of the customs service.
Unanimously! The ICE carveout is meaningless. ICE is already funded through 2029, thanks to last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Republicans seemed happy:
There’s no other way to say it: Democrats lost. “The Dems wanted reforms,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune said. “We tried to work with them on reforms. They ended up getting no reforms.”
Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck “Grillmaster” Schumer (D-NY), 98, put on a brave face. He tried to take credit, neglecting to mention that Democrats got nothing. “Democrats were clear: no blank check for a lawless ICE and border patrol,” Schumer insisted, referring to already-funded ICE. “This long-overdue agreement funds TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, CISA, and strengthens security at the border,” he added, echoing the Republican platform from 2024 like he was reading a ransom note.
Here’s the sequence:
1.Democrats forced another government shutdown, which defunded TSA, not ICE, since ICE was already funded, to punish Americans for border enforcement.
2.President Trump sends ICE to the airport to help TSA out.
3.Then Trump vows to pay TSA anyway, daring Dems to sue him.
4.Democrat opposition collapses and budget is approved unanimously.
One had hoped this minor victory would have encouraged Majority Leader Thune to push through the Save America Act. But also in the overnight session, the Senate approved recess for Easter. Today and early next week will be their last working days before the two-week break. They could still do it! We’ll see.
Either way, assuming the House approves the Senate’s version of the funding bill, the TSA distraction is over. Now what, Dems? What will the next shutdown be? Defunding the Postal Service to protest the border wall?
Anyway, happy TAW-day.

The House is not going to approve it. The House just passed its own bill to fund DHS, tonight.

JUST IN: House Passes Short-Term DHS Funding Bill in Late Night Vote

The House of Representatives late Friday night passed a short-term DHS funding bill.

The House voted 213-203 to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security for 8 weeks.

Three Democrats joined the Republicans and voted to fund the DHS.

The short-term bill is likely dead on arrival in the Senate…

Unanimously! The ICE carveout is meaningless. ICE is already funded through 2029, thanks to last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Republicans seemed happy:”

patfrederick

but that’s wrong. the AGENTS are funded but not the administrative section of ICE–the people doing the paperwork. they are not funded.
and unanimously? there were 5 people present–and yes they all voted yea. If that’s all it take is FIVE votes to pass something–expect the dems to repeat this if they ever control the senate again. COUNT ON IT!

The agents can do the paperwork, also. Just like agents were doing childcare and diaper changing during the SlowJoe years.

This is a serious bunch of hooey but both sides are spinning it up.

patfrederick

and they did NOT pull themselves together. THEY CONSPIRED AGAINST THE REST OF THE GOP SENATORS.

Robert Baker

It seems part of the plot is missing in this story. I have no idea how 5 Senators can pass a bill. That is not even a quorum. I did not think it possible to conduct business absent a quorum, unless there is some arcane proxy vote casting about which I am unaware. There has to be another shoe in the closet. However I am not hearing from legislators that it was illegal so I am confused.

Sen. Rand Paul Says He’s ‘50/50’ on 2028 Presidential Run, Wants GOP to Move Away From ‘Populism’ (VIDEO)

In an interview with CBS host Robert Costa that will air this Sunday, Paul was asked about his feelings on the Trump administration and the current direction of the Republican Party.

Here’s what he said:

There used to really be a free market/Libertarian wing of the party, and now there’s not much left.

In fact, on many days it’s me in the Senate, the only one left for free trade.

But I think there still is a desire among business for it, and it may make the so-called Libertarian vote, which might not be big enough to ever win anything, if you combine that with the Chamber of the Commerce and the traditional business community that doesn’t like protectionism, there may be a force out there for a different direction from the party other than being continued to be led by populism.

I don’t know what he actually stands for. (For pgroup: I don’t know for what he actually stands. 😅 )
I’m starting to wonder if he’s part of the anti-Trump movement.

Protectionism and populism are negatives, but libertarianism and free trade are positives? It looks as if he is not America-first, does not believe in MAGA, and wants to return to business as usual. I can save him a lot of time and money: he doesn’t have a chance of winning a presidential election.

That also applies to my use of “stands for” above. It is a phrasal verb, not a verb + preposition.

stand for – phrasal verb

stand for something [no passive]

to be an abbreviation or symbol of something

https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/stand-for

Wolf Moon

A useful distinction, although I am finding some examples (see below) slightly intermediary (e.g., “look after” something)

QUOTE (Duck AI)

**Phrasal verbs consist of a verb combined with one or more particles (usually adverbs), while prepositional verbs consist of a verb followed by a preposition that cannot be separated from it.** Phrasal verbs often have meanings that are not easily guessed from their individual parts, whereas prepositional verbs always take an object immediately after the preposition.

Understanding Phrasal Verbs and Prepositional Verbs

Phrasal verbs and prepositional verbs are both important components of English grammar, but they have distinct structures and functions.

Phrasal Verbs

  • Definition: A phrasal verb consists of a main verb combined with one or more particles, typically adverbs.
  • Structure: The format is usually verb + particle (e.g., “give up,” “look after”).
  • Meaning: The meaning of a phrasal verb is often idiomatic and cannot be easily inferred from the individual words. For example:
  • “Give up” means to stop trying.
  • “Look after” means to take care of.

Prepositional Verbs

  • Definition: A prepositional verb consists of a main verb followed by a preposition that cannot be separated from it.
  • Structure: The format is verb + preposition (e.g., “depend on,” “listen to”).
  • Meaning: Prepositional verbs always take an object immediately after the preposition. For example:
  • “Depend on” requires an object: “I depend on my friends.”
  • “Listen to” also requires an object: “I listen to music.”

Key Differences

Feature Phrasal Verbs Prepositional Verbs

Structure Verb + Particle Verb + Preposition

Object Placement Can be separated from the object Object follows the preposition

Meaning Often idiomatic Meaning is more literal

Understanding these differences helps in using them correctly in sentences and enhances overall language proficiency.

DataRepublican: “3. You punted to reconciliation. “Good possibility,” you said. Not “we will.” Not “guaranteed.” Just maybe. Meanwhile, ICE operates on fumes from last year’s bill with no certainty of future funding.”

________________

According to this Steve Turley video I just watched about an hour ago, ICE was funded all the way through 2029 (or until 2029) with $70+ billion via the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’.

Found it:

…………………………………………..
(8:37) “We have to remember that ICE already got funded. That was part of the genius of the one big beautiful bill which Trump signed into law back on uh 4th of July.

That bill automatically, that’s key, it automatically gave ICE $75 billion in new budget authority, approximately 7x its typical annual budget of $10 billion.

And it’s available through fiscal year 2029. That money was appropriated through the reconciliation process, meaning it sits completely outside the normal annual appropriation cycle and can’t be touched by a government shutdown.

So whether the DHS is shut down or not, ICE and CBP, Customs and Border Patrol, will still be able to pursue their immigration crackdown completely undisrupted. That’s key.

This is why the Democrats couldn’t defund ICE. The one big beautiful bill had already locked in the money till 2029.”
…………………………………………..
.

Prompted to the quote above:

Last edited 1 month ago by scott467
TheseTruths

Jeff Childers also pointed out yesterday in Coffee & COVID that ICE is funded through 2029. I haven’t heard everything that Turley says in that video, but he appears to be the only one I’ve seen who agrees with Childers’ take (which I posted elsewhere here, today).

scott467

I shall ask Brave 😁
.

Me: Dr. Steve Turley does videos on youtube most days, and in his video from yesterday, he said the following with regard to the recent government shutdown and the attempts of the Democrats to prevent funding of ICE:

“We have to remember that ICE already got funded.

That money was appropriated through the reconciliation process, meaning it sits completely outside the normal annual appropriation cycle and can’t be touched by a government shutdown.”

Is this understanding correct?
.

Brave A.I.: “Dr. Steve Turley’s statement is substantially correct based on available information.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed into law by President Trump on July 4, 2025, used the budget reconciliation process to appropriate approximately $75 billion in supplemental funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This funding is available through fiscal year 2029 and operates outside the annual appropriations cycle, making it largely immune to government shutdowns.

This $75 billion is in addition to ICE’s typical annual budget of around $10 billion, representing a significant increase — though not exactly 7x the annual budget when viewed over the full multi-year period.

The funds were allocated for purposes including detention expansion ($45 billion) and enforcement operations ($30 billion), and can be accessed regardless of lapses in regular DHS funding.”

TheseTruths

I think Childers is saying their voting to fund DHS is a positive. Of course, the House won’t pass the Senate bill and the House passed its own bill, which the Senate won’t pass.

A Dog on the Battlefield and the Character of George Washington

George Washington was said to have been a man who loved dogs and owned many. He was an avid hunter, and most of his dogs were hunting dogs.

General info about Washington’s dogs
The Marquis de Lafayette was known to have sent seven staghounds to George Washington in a sign of friendship. A photo of this breed shows a likeness to what we know today as greyhounds. In colonial times, these dogs were great hunters, but they were bred to hunt via speed and sight; scent was not key to their hunting ability. Sweet Lips, Scentwell, and Vulcan were the names of three of Washington’s staghounds.

Washington also owned Black and Tan coonhounds. These dogs were scent hounds, and those whose names are known were called Drunkard, Taster, Tippler, and Tipsy (It would be nice to know more about this choice of names!).

One source says that Washington bred the Black and Tan coonhounds with the staghounds, which may have resulted in Americas first fox hounds. For more about George Washington’s dogs, see George Washington’s Poodle.)

But a story about a dog found on a battlefield reveals a great deal about the character of the man who was to be our first President.

The Battle of Germantown

In July of 1777, British General William Howe moved his forces toward Philadelphia in an effort to seize the city that was serving as the revolutionary capital for the Patriots.

By September of 1777, Washington and the Continental Army suffered a couple of serious defeats. Cornwallis successfully marched into Philadelphia and claimed it for the British, so American spirits were low. Since Philadelphia was successfully claimed, General Howe arranged for the next move for the British. He sent off his men to Germantown.

With winter approaching, Washington felt he had time for one more attack and thought the British arriving at Germantown were vulnerable. Washington’s plan was a brave one–and if it had been successful, it could have made a huge difference in the war.

However, Washington over-estimated his men’s preparedness, and fog made the job almost impossible. The men could not coordinate their movements because they could not see what was happening on the battlefield.

The British were again successful, assuring that Philadelphia would remain in British hands for the remainder of the war.

Small Dog Found

After the battle, a small dog was found on the battlefield. One of the American soldiers picked up the dog and saw from his collar that he belonged to General Howe. The men took the dog to Washington and asked that they hold the dog in retribution for their defeat at the hands of Howe’s men.

But Washington was ever the gentleman. He arranged for a messenger to return the dog to Howe with a two-line letter:

“General Washington’s compliments to General Howe, does himself the pleasure to return [to] him a Dog, which accidentally fell into his hands, and by the inscription on the Collar appears to belong to General Howe.”

While many of the stories about Washington’s character seem to have been created by his earliest biographer, Parson Weems, this lovely story of kindness and gallantry is one that can be fully documented as a draft of the note still exists. It is written in the handwriting of Washington’s aide-de-camp Alexander Hamilton, and the note can be found is in the Washington Papers at the Library of Congress.

scott467

That was smart. Demonstrating compassion and humanity toward one’s enemy in a situation like this is the best hope for receiving similar consideration in return.

For instance, it may be that some of Washington’s men were captured during the battle, and if not this one, then in others.

From what I have seen and read, the treatment of American prisoners often ranged from awful to horrible.

There was no downside to returning the General’s dog. Doing the General a personal kindness might possibly spare some of Washington’s men (taken prisoner) a measure of brutality they might otherwise receive.

The House Ethics Committee has found a Democratic congresswoman committed numerous violations of House rules and ethics standards over $5m in allegedly stolen taxpayer funds.

Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick of Florida is fighting for survival over allegations she used millions her family’s health care company received during the COVID–19 pandemic to fuel her political campaign.

It’s a ruling that could add weight to Republicans’ push to expel her from Congress.

After meeting for over seven hours Thursday night, an ethics panel composed of four Democrats and four Republicans found Cherfilus-McCormick committed 25 ethics violations. The panel said Friday it would recommend a punishment in the coming weeks.

The congresswoman, along with a handful of co-conspirators is accused of steering money that came into a family health-care company she ran with her brother, Edwin Cherfilus, into her campaign coffers through ‘straw donations.’

Cherfilus-McCormick was indicted by a federal grand jury in Miami in November.

The indictment from Cherfilus–McCormick’s case said she purchased a 3.14–carat ‘Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond’ ring from a New York jeweler for $109,000, per CBS12. The congresswoman’s official house portrait appears to show a similar piece of jewelry adorning her finger.

Cherfilus-McCormick faces up to 53 years in prison if convicted.

What next? Should we pay reparations to murders, rapists and bank robbers because they are suffering from the “trauma” of being targeted by the police? The key word is illegal, it is the US citizen suffering because of the illegals, not the illegals suffering for committing an illegal act, entering OUR country illegally!

BREAKING: CALIFORNIA MASS IN-PERSON ELECTION FRAUD CRIMES CAUGHT ON CAMERA:

Recordings Show Homeless Are Paid By Petitioners To FORGE Real Voters’ Signatures To Sign Ballot Petitions On Skid Row, Thousands of Times

Disenfranchised Voters Say They Are OUTRAGED After Being Shown Their Signatures Are Forged

Undercover in Los Angeles, James O’Keefe uncovered an election fraud pyramid scheme operating on Skid Row.

In Part II of Cash for Ballots, series hidden camera footage shows petition circulators paying homeless individuals $2–$3 per form to sign ballot petitions using the names and addresses of real registered voters and forging their signatures. Circulators provided printed lists of voters, assigned identities, and directed the homeless individuals exactly what to write, monitoring them to ensure the information matched so the circulators get paid.

“You only write what I tell you to write.”

“Your name’s Robert.”

“If you mess up, I can’t get paid.”

The conduct captured appears to violate multiple California felony statutes, including Elections Code §18613 (signing another person’s name to a petition), Penal Code §470 (forgery), Elections Code §18601–18602 (paying for petition signatures), and Penal Code §470 (forging signatures).

The OMG team and Cam Higby visited addresses tied to the voters’ names being used. One resident said the named voter had not lived at the address for nearly a decade, yet election mail was still being delivered.

“Doesn’t live here, uh I bought this house nearly 9 years ago. The only reason I know that name, is because we still get her mail.”

“i always feel really weird when I get the voting ballot. Cause like, you know, obviously that’s fraudulent.”

This is Part II of an ongoing investigation. The Citizen Justice League will continue to release more footage of these crimes caught on tape.

FLA AG sends letter to NFL requiring them to suspend the “Rooney Rule” which REQUIRES teams to interview 2 minority candidates for specific positions.
FTA
Florida’s attorney general is challenging the Rooney Rule and calling on the NFL to suspend it or face possible civil rights action.
James Uthmeier sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday to express concern that the Rooney Rule — which requires teams to interview external minority candidates for specific positions — is “blatant race and sex discrimination” and that hiring decisions should be based on merit only.
“NFL fans in Florida don’t care what color their coach’s skin is,” Uthmeier wrote. “They care what colors their coach is wearing — and that those colors are winning on the football field.
“The Rooney Rule and its offshoots are illegal in Florida.”
The NFL acknowledged receiving the letter and that the league is reviewing its contents.
“We believe our policies are consistent with the law and reflect our commitment to fairness, opportunity, and building the strongest possible teams,” NFL executive vice president Jeff Miller said.
Uthmeier said in a video posted to X on Wednesday that the rule “violates Florida law by requiring race-based considerations in hiring.” In the letter, Uthmeier asked Goodell to “confirm no later than May 1, 2026, that the NFL will no longer enforce the Rooney Rule or any variation or extension thereof — which requires consideration of race, sex, or any other prohibited classification — on teams in Florida. Failure to provide such confirmation may result in a civil rights enforcement action.”

“Fairness” to whom? To one person, an applicant who wants to be hired, and hiring them if they are not the best fit for the job is not even fair to them. What about fairness to provide the team and its fans the most qualified individual for the job, the one who will manage the team in the optimal way and provide the best chance to win?

Poll: Virginians Don’t Like Democrats’ Gerrymander Scam
https://thefederalist.com/2026/03/27/poll-virginians-dont-like-democrats-gerrymander-scam/
The Heritage Acton poll shows 43 percent of respondents are opposed to changing the constitution,, while 26 percent support the referendum.
Here is what we all know about poll and referendum questions trying to manipulate us:
The ballot question asks, “Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?”
Whose idea of fair?
Heritage Action’s poll found the Democrats’ “fairness” phrasing boosts voters’ backing of the referendum.
“Based on this ballot language alone, would you support or oppose this amendment?” Forty-five percent of respondents said they would, while 36 recent said they would not.
Heritage Action approached the topic a different way, asking whether electoral maps should represent the interests of politicians, or voters. Perhaps not surprisingly, 87 percent of respondent chose the latter.

$10 Million theft ring from Home Depots. one alleged leader–a store owner.

article
COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Surveillance video captured thieves pocketing merchandise inside a Home Depot in California – part of a group investigators say is linked to more than $10 million in stolen merchandise.

That includes arrests made right here metro Atlanta, Channel 2’s Michael Seiden reports.

Investigators say this operation stretched across the country with millions in stolen goods.

The man caught on surveillance stuffed his jacket with electrical breakers, each one worth about $100. During the same visit, he used a long pole to pull down boxes of electrical equipment from high shelves.

When those items are locked up, authorities say he just climbs the racks to get to them.

Investigators say this wasn’t just one brazen theft. They believe this was part of the largest organized retail theft operation targeting Home Depot in the company’s history.

Right now, four suspects are all behind bars in Cobb County after police say they hit more than two dozen stores.

The arrests began last spring when authorities in California busted the alleged head of the operation, a store owner.

Sheriff Jim Fryhoff, Ventura County, Calif., said his crews of thieves, known as boosters, would steal merchandise from Home Depot stores.

“He would then sell those items at a reduced price to contractors and other electrical businesses,” the sheriff said.

Criminologists who study organize retail theft rings say it’s not uncommon for these types of theft rings to expand into new areas.

“You’re going to exhaust some of the ones around you. You may not want to steal from the stores that are closest to you because people might recognize you,” said Dr. Read Hayes, University of Florida criminologist.

Their contract delivery service for appliances from their distribution warehouse in the Atlanta metro is noted for being a drug trafficking hub by their home delivery teams. They are notoriously late or even skip scheduled home deliveries to make their connections.

Per LE sources of mine.

mollypitcher5

Well that’s convenient for trickle down home crime too. Home delivery guys can take note of gate codes, home layout, neighborhood, etc and pass that intel along to “friends”.

the overall fraud is staggering!

Aggiegirl
March 28, 2026 8:42 am

And the fraud gets caught, linked by TLD multi state involvement:
“According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Robert “Bobby” Leon Smith III, 50, of Archer City, Texas, owned and operated seven durable medical equipment supply companies based in Florida, Texas, and Maryland through which he submitted millions of dollars in false claims to Medicare for orthotic braces and foot baths that beneficiaries did not need.
Smith also owned a marketing company based in Texas that he used to conduct deceptive telemarketing campaigns that targeted Medicare beneficiaries for medical services they did not need. Working with an offshore call center located in the Philippines, Smith and his co-conspirators peddled medically unnecessary orthotic braces, foot baths, and genetic tests to Medicare beneficiaries nationwide. In audio recordings presented at trial, Smith was heard pressuring beneficiaries to accept these products even after the beneficiaries protested that they did not need or want them.
Smith obtained doctors’ orders for these products by allegedly paying kickbacks and bribes to illegitimate telemedicine companies. He then sold these doctors’ orders to other medical suppliers that he knew used them to submit false and fraudulent claims to Medicare. ”

I’m bringing this for some clarity. Is THIS even POSSIBLE under the current rules of the senate ( do not know).

Cactus
March 28, 2026 9:11 am

JMO.
President Trump wants to update the national voting processes to eliminate the documented, massive voting fraud that is occurring in the states.
What’s the background?
For the past 5 decades, the communist democrat / RINOs have been able to embed themselves into the federal government and the so-called “blue-state” governments by unconstitutionally changing some of the election processes to enable election fraud on a massive scale ……. resulting in democrat / RINOs illegally being declared winners, usurping the will of the voters.
In 1975, the embedded, communist democrat / RINOs in the Senate put in the current, unconstitutional “filibuster rule” that allowed the communist democrat / RINOs to stop any changes to the election processes that allowed them to steal national and local elections. The unconstitutional rule requires 60 votes in the senate to eliminate the filibuster.
Because the republicans hold such a slim majority in the senate ……. a result of the mass election fraud (?) ……… the communist democrat / RINOs think they have set up the system to stop President Trump from eliminating the massive election fraud for the mid-term elections….. yup, they’ve got him this time, for sure, you can take it to the bank.
Not so fast.
With republican leader Thune, a hardcore RINO, blocking the permanent elimination of the rule, President Trump will have to, constitutionally, go through or around Thune to eliminate the rule.
President Trump, could have Vice President JD Vance, as President of the Senate, come to the Senate, at the appropriate time, and assume the position in the presiding officer chair ….. constitutionally terminating the “filibuster rule”, thus allowing the passing of all the election changes before turning the senate back over to Thune.
MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty!

TradeBait2

Make it happen.

I seem to recall when he was being picked it was viewed by many in the GOP and even Thune himself to be a two year ML role.

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

Verse of the Day for Saturday, March 28, 2026

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”

Proverbs 15:3 (KJV)

COMMENTARY FOR PROVERBS 15

1 A right cause will be better pleaded with meekness than with passion. Nothing stirs up anger like grievous words. #2|. He that has knowledge, is to use it aright, for the good of others. 3|. Secret sins, services, and sorrows, are under God’s eye. This speaks comfort to saints, and terror to sinners. #4|. A good tongue is healing to wounded consciences, by comforting them; to sin-sick souls, by convincing them; and it reconciles parties at variance. #5|. If instruction is despised, reprove men rather than suffer them to go on undisturbed in the way to ruin. #6|. The wealth of worldly men increases their fears and suspicions, adds strength to their passions, and renders the fear of death more distressing. #7|. We use knowledge aright when we disperse it; but the heart of the foolish has nothing to disperse that is good. #8,9|. The wicked put other things in the stead of Christ’s atonement, or in the place of holy obedience. Praying graces are his gift, and the work of his Spirit, with which he is well pleased. #10|. He that hates reproof shall perish in his sins, since he would not be parted from them. 11|. There is nothing that can be hid from the eyes of God, not even man’s thoughts. #12|. A scorner cannot bear to reflect seriously within his own heart. #13|. A gloomy, impatient, unthankful spirit, springing from pride and undue attachment to worldly objects, renders a man uneasy to himself and others. 14|. A wise man seeks to gain more wisdom, growing in grace and in the knowledge of Christ. But a carnal mind rests contented, flattering itself. #15|. Some are much in affliction, and of a sorrowful spirit. Such are to be pitied, prayed for, and comforted. And others serve God with gladness of heart, and it prompts their obedience, yet they should rejoice with trembling. 16,17|. Believers often have enough when worldly eyes see little; the Lord is with them, without the cares, troubles, and temptations which are with the wealth of the wicked. #18|. He that is slow to anger, not only prevents strife, but appeases it, if kindled. #19|. Those who have no heart to their work, pretend that they cannot do their work without hardship and danger. And thus many live always in doubt about their state, because always in neglect of some duty. #20|. Those who treat an aged mother or a father with contempt or neglect, show their own folly. #21|. Such as are truly wise, study that their thoughts, words, and actions should be regular, sincere, and holy. #22|. If men will not take time and pains to deliberate, they are not likely to bring any thing to pass. #23|. Wisdom is needed to suit our discourse to the occasions. #24|. A good man sets his affections on things above; his way leads directly thither. 25|. Pride is the ruin of multitudes. But those who are in affliction God will support. #26|. The thoughts of wicked men offend Him who knows the heart. #27|. The covetous man lets none of his family have rest or enjoyment. And greediness of gain often tempts to projects that bring ruin. #28|. A good man is proved to be a wise man by this; he governs his tongue well. 29|. God sets himself at a distance from those who set him at defiance. #30|. How delightful to the humbled soul to hear the good report of salvation by the Lord Jesus Christ! #31|. Faithful, friendly reproofs help spiritual life, and lead to eternal life. #32|. Sinners undervalue their own souls; therefore they prefer the body before the soul, and wrong the soul to please the body. #33|. The fear of the Lord will dispose us to search the Scriptures with reverence; and it will cause us to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit. While we humbly place all our dependence on the grace of God, we are exalted in the righteousness of Christ.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

SETTING THE STAGE: AGENDA 2030
In Part One, I explained HOW the Demonic Oligarchs took power in America FROM THE SHADOWS over a century ago as the Government and Legacy Media that were supposed to protect and inform us covered their tracks ensuring we never even knew Our Republic had been quietly throttled into submission.

Aubergine

Well, this is just tragic, I tell you. Tragic.

“Over the course of the last decade, the great social debate has mostly revolved around the issue of “merit vs equity”, or equality of opportunity vs equality of outcome. For anyone with common sense it’s clear that “equity” is a non-starter; a system which skews accomplishment and hands success to unqualified people based solely on their ethnicity, gender or sexual identity. The experiment has been disastrous for western civilization so far.

Women in general and black women in particular were initially sought out by companies to fill DEI quotas that should not have existed in the first place. These quotas were instituted because governments and NGO’s created the demand for them by offering numerous subsidies, tax breaks and special credit access. Corporations that met the DEI requirements would then have a financial edge on the competition, so everyone had to participate to avoid being surpassed by the other guy.”

https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/black-women-face-mass-layoffs-rise-ai-and-end-dei

More from the article:

“Of the 6.1 million workers whose jobs are the most likely to be disrupted by AI and least likely to adapt, 86% are women, a recent Brookings analysis has found.  Labor markets most populated by women in air conditioned offices across the nation – secretaries, receptionists, payroll clerks, customer service representatives, middle management, marketing, online journalism, education, even HR and communications – are all under threat from AI.”

If you got your job because of your gender or color, tough luck I say.

mollypitcher5

I can’t disagree with your last sentence but it galls me to know that AI will be taking jobs that help families stay afloat. Realistically, AI could be programed to replace almost any job but at what cost? Imagine every grocery store with 100% self serve cashiers. Every county office with a bank of AI kiosks that screen your reason for being there? Only the most complicated requests would get a live human to help?

Aubergine

Well, my first question would be, how many of those women actually have families? Second, AI can’t replace lots of jobs. But you are right, many will be replaced.

We’ve been here before. Railroads replaced teamsters. Cars replaced blacksmiths and ostlers. Modern telephony even replaced switchboard operators.

It’s going to get interesting.

Last edited 1 month ago by Aubergine
mollypitcher5

Again don’t disagree but railroads brought many jobs. Cars also brought many jobs, from manufacturing, to sales, to repair, to registering, to gas stations.to…other
I see AI as the ultimate human replacement set up except for humans creating more AI!
 😑

Aubergine

All of that is true. My prediction is, however, as Mike Rowe has been begging for a long time, the trades will see a major upswing. Plumbing, electrical, and general construction of houses, mainly, will be difficult for any AI or robot to master. There are so many variables, and difficult physical circumstances that robots probably can’t efficiently manage.

Also, jobs where humans PREFER humans to be their contact will surge. My granddaughter decided to become a cosmetologist. I’m thrilled, because for people who are “into” nails, hair and such, the human element is part of the experience. How many women do you know who have a “long term relationship” with their nail tech? I know a LOT.

As I said, interesting times ahead!

My healthcare experiences are much different from yours.

I’m on SSI/SSA with Medicaid/Medicare. I’m being kept alive using all taxpayer money and I do my best to show my gratitude by voting conservative and being friendly as possible [no, not suggesting you’re not friendly]. I start lots of conversations by simply growling ‘no’ to a routine request, such as, ‘would you step on the scale, please’?

That generates a face-to-face look-at-each-other moment for me to smile broadly at [usually her] and say, ‘of course I will but I just wanted to make your day a little different’.

One out of 8-10 is too firmly set in ‘grumpy’ mode but most appreciate my offbeat efforts at being friendly.

MEDIA BLACKOUT: 18-year-old Loyola University Chicago student Sheridan Gorman was fatally shot in the head while walking with friends near campus — allegedly by Jose Medina-Medina, a 25-year-old Venezuelan national who entered the U.S. illegally.

The mainstream media is being called for its lack of coverage of the tragedy – ABC, NBC, and CBS combined for under five minutes of coverage across their morning and evening newscasts earlier this week.

“truck 1 stop stop stop”
Did the truck not hear these instructions?

Wolf Moon

I’ll bet he heard them, but was moving too fast by then, and was trying to TURN out of the way instead of braking.

May God grant peace to everyone involved.
So overwhelming.
