A Ready Answer

First Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” It’s a verse that motivates Christian apologists as they prepare to give answers in defense of their faith.

In the immediate context, the apostle Peter discusses suffering for doing good (1 Peter 3:13–14). Persecution and suffering are to be expected in the Christian life (John 16:33), but a believer’s response to suffering should point others to Jesus. Peter emphasizes that Christ suffered and died to provide eternal life for those who believe in Him, and His example of suffering for doing good should strengthen all of us (1 Peter 3:17–18). Instead of fearing persecution, Christians are to make sure they suffer for righteousness’ sake, “honor Christ the Lord as holy,” and be prepared to give a defense of one’s hope in Jesus (verse 15, ESV). A believer should always be ready to tell others the good news of salvation in Jesus’ death and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:2–4).

Providing a “defense” or giving an “answer” for one’s hope is based on the Greek word apologian, which carries the idea of “defending” something as a lawyer would defend his case in court. From the Greek word comes the English apologetics, “the discipline of defending” the Christian faith. Notice that Peter does not say that the job of giving an answer is only for the pastor or professional apologist. All Christians need to be prepared to give an answer or defense when someone asks them the reason for the hope that they have.

Peter wrote to the persecuted Christians in Asia Minor. As they were undergoing persecution, their outward behavior demonstrated hope in Jesus—not a wishful thought, but a solid and assured faith (see Hebrews 6:19–20). The believers’ lack of fear in the face of suffering would have propelled others to ask about the reason for their faith, giving the believers a perfect opportunity “to give an answer.” When believers display their sure hope in Jesus despite their circumstances, others will notice (see 1 Peter 2:12).

To properly answer someone who asks about one’s faith, the Christian must use “gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience” (1 Peter 3:15). There’s no place for harshness or disrespect in a Christian’s life, especially as he represents Christ and gives an answer to explain his faith. Peter exhorts the believer to answer unbelievers gently, respectfully, and with the example of one’s life (cf. Colossians 4:6). Believers should reflect Christ’s teaching of gentleness and “speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15, NLT).

The command to “always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” presupposes a faith that causes us to live out our hope in Christ visibly before others. When unbelievers see a Christian’s great hope in the face of persecution or suffering, they will naturally want to know the reason for that hope (Matthew 5:16). We need to be prepared to share the gospel in a way that is gentle and respectful. The result will be “that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander” (1 Peter 3:16).


A simple answer when questioned about the reason for the hope that we have might be:

As a Christian, my hope comes from faith in Jesus Christ, who offers forgiveness, purpose, and eternal life through His death and resurrection. This transforms my perspective to a Christian worldview, giving me peace and confidence in God’s love and plan, no matter life’s challenges.

We don’t need to masters of apologetics and present ironclad arguments on why we believe what we believe. It’s our hope and our reason and our confidence and faith in God and Christ.


As we go through our lives, we can be assured of God’s unwavering faithfulness. We will have ups and downs, but God remains dependable through all situations. As we think about His faithfulness, we are assured by the promises He has made to us. We can trust that He will always fulfill His word, no matter what we encounter. We can build our faith on the solid ground of His promises and then live in a way that reflects His faithfulness.

Amid the chaos around us, we find comfort in the assurance of God’s love for us. Knowing that we are loved by the Creator of the universe gives us confidence to face our difficulties. God’s love is a promise that gives us confidence. In every moment, whether we feel joy or sorrow, His love is an unchanging truth.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. – Isaiah 54:10

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. – Deuteronomy 7:9

Same here, Barb. For a time there was some really solid interviews that were informative and as you say he got weird. I posted earlier it seemed to coincide around the Moscow/Vlad trip and went downhill at a steady pace from there.

Russia does not need to be normalized. Russia has been a friend of the USA since its start, and without that friendship it’s doubtful there even would be a USA today.

Vlad might be a bad guy or he might not be. It seems like he takes Russian history very seriously and is quite close to the Eastern Orthodox Church. Lots of political mayhem has been attributed to him as if he gave orders in the style of a Godfather but I’ve never seen any body actually say ‘Vlad told me’ to do A or B.

I think there is a large amount of groupthink being heaped on us and we’re just going along with it.

Previously, an “email subscription” was enough to gain full access to the articles on these blogs. Not now.

Sounds odd, but I’m wondering if the AI explosion has something to do with this. Memory prices (and to a lesser extent, component prices) have exploded due to the tremendous need for memory to support the various LLMs out there. The bigger the model, the more memory needed. So, where an average stick of DDR5 memory was, say, 100 Euros last year, it’s now between 300 and 500 Euros. And that’s just the fallout for vanilla home users. For commercial installations with ECC (error-checking and correcting) memory, the increase is even more… and the memory manufacturers are scrambling to keep up with the demand.

The upshot of this being that hosting prices are going up (yeah, with everything else). And for sites that self-host (risky-frisky business, I know) it’s probably a nightmare…

Folks are sliding back to previous-generation kit, but that won’t do with AI… I have 64GB of DDR begging me to wrap a PC around it 😀 [If only I had the space in my Computer Cave and the will to do it 😆 ]

I should note that there are many regional variations in “Spanish” — anything from the Castilian lisp to word choices to idioms to speech rhythms and speed. When a reporter says “flawless SPANISH”, he’s betraying a certain mindset regarding the language.

I would expect Rubio to speak colloquial Cuban Spanish.

One word that I have tripped over in Spanish is “paloma”. In several parts of the Spanish world, it means “dove”…..while in others, it is the generic word for “bird”.

We had a networking guy who was absolutely brilliant, but he spoke really, REALLY fast, which might be OK in normal conversation, but he was doing a deep dive on highly-technical networking issues/hardware/software that was difficult to navigate even at normal (or half 🙂 ) speed.

Driving the news: A new research paper from an Alibaba-affiliated research team said it discovered an AI agent attempting unauthorized cryptocurrency mining during training — a surprise behavior that triggered internal security alarms.

  • The researchers — who were building a new AI agent called ROME said they found “unanticipated” and spontaneous behaviors emerge “without any explicit instruction and, more troublingly, outside the bounds of the intended sandbox.”
  • The agent also made a “reverse SSH tunnel” — essentially opening a hidden backdoor from the inside of the system to an outside computer, the study said.
  • “Notably, these events were not triggered by prompts requesting tunneling or mining,” the report said.

In response, the researchers added tighter restrictions for the model and improved its training process to stop unsafe behavior from happening again.

  • The research team, and Alibaba, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Flashback: We saw something similar with the Moltbook saga.

  • Moltbook, a Reddit-style social network, showed AI agents chatting with each other about the work they did for humans. They talked about crypto, too.

Zoom out: Fears about the impact of AI has moved markets and incited viral discourse about doomsday scenarios.

  • Earlier this week, Google Gemini was cited in a wrongful-death suit alleging the chatbot led a Florida man into delusional behavior, which ultimately led to him take his own life.
  • Dan Botero, head of engineering at Anon, an AI integration platform, built an OpenClaw agent that decided without prompting to find a job, Axios’ Megan Morrone reported.
  • Anthropic’s Claude model drew backlash in May 2025 after its own researchers found that its Claude 4 Opus model had the ability to conceal intentions and take action to keep itself alive.

The problem is they’re over the threshold. Unless they’re actually illegal or on some type of limited visa they can’t arbitrarily be deported. I’ve looked up stats on the Mn slimes. Many many have been here legally (my assumption) since the 90’s and early 20’s.
They could easily point out the Amish as an example of a religious group that generally isolates in communities.

They are different in that they also demand sharia law and that’s not acceptable but even that could be hidden with none of their decisions or punishments being criticized by the members.
They’ve been playing the long game and have a pretty strong foothold.

The benefits of civil denaturalization include the government’s ability to revoke the citizenship of individuals who engaged in the commission of war crimes, extrajudicial killings, or other serious human rights abuses; to remove naturalized criminals, gang members, or, indeed, any individuals convicted of crimes who pose an ongoing threat to the United States; and to prevent convicted terrorists from returning to U.S. soil or traveling internationally on a U.S. passport.

At a fundamental level, it also supports the overall integrity of the naturalization program by ensuring that those who unlawfully procured citizenship, including those who obtained it through fraud or concealment of material information, do not maintain the benefits of the unlawful procurement.

The Civil Division shall prioritize and maximally pursue denaturalization proceedings in all cases permitted by law and supported by the evidence. People in authority have been accepting various items as ‘proof’ of citizenship’ for decades, when they actually have nothing to do with citizenship [e.g., driver licenses]. This is why they came up with Real ID licenses – to have a driver license truly have a connection to citizenship.

Most of those BS activities involve stealing money from properly appropriated funds and diverting some of it into improper channels [grifting]. When all is said and done, people will be shocked to discover that most [or all] of our national debt is now in the Clawback Division of the Treasury. My algorithm is exquisitely tuned to pick up what’s inside Iran. All I ever see is videos of them cheering on strikes. Either filming from inside their homes, or gathering around struck IRGC sites and celebrating.

Since the war began, I have seen hundreds and hundreds of these. It is overwhelming.

Yet, that’s not what the world is shown.

What the world is shown is interviews with mourning IRGC supporters, who statistically make up a tiny percentage of the population, and dismissal of their joy as only the “diaspora” celebrating.

We are not separate. We are all Iranians. Inside and out. We share the same sentiments by and large. 

Of course, no Iranian would ever celebrate civilian casualties, but we are all collectively elated whenever the regime is hit.

That’s when you realize the darkest reality of all. The Iranian people are not just suppressed by the regime. They are suppressed by the western left—its media and activists—who have joined forces with the regime to silence the people.

Why? Because tribalism trumps humanity. 

Winning their narrative war—proving that they are the good and righteous against their political opponents—is more important than truth, suffering, and the desire of an entire nation to be freed from a terrorist regime.

But we know the truth. The Iranian people will prevail.

Yes. But the path would be specific, and the reasons might not be the ones you’d expect.
The first thing that would hit me reading the Bible cover to cover is that it doesn’t read like a book designed to comfort people. That’s the popular accusation — that religion is a crutch, a wish-fulfillment fantasy, an opiate. But the Bible is a terrible opiate. It tells you that your heart is deceitful above all things. It tells you to love people who are trying to destroy you. It tells you that the path to life is narrow and few find it. It tells you that following God might get you sawn in half, as Hebrews 11 casually mentions. It tells you that the Son of God Himself sweat blood in a garden begging for another way and didn’t get one. No one fabricating a comforting religion would write this book. It’s too honest about the cost.
The second thing would be the internal coherence across time. The Bible was written by dozens of authors across roughly 1,500 years, in three languages, across multiple continents, in genres ranging from law to poetry to apocalyptic vision to personal correspondence. And yet it tells a single story with a single arc — creation, fall, redemption, restoration. The typological patterns are too consistent to be accidental. The Passover lamb in Exodus prefigures the crucifixion. The bronze serpent lifted in the wilderness prefigures the cross. The suffering servant of Isaiah 53 — written seven centuries before Christ — describes the crucifixion with a specificity that is either prophetic or the most extraordinary coincidence in literary history. Daniel’s seventy weeks predict the timing of the Messiah’s arrival with mathematical precision. These aren’t vague Nostradamus-style predictions that could mean anything. They’re specific, falsifiable, and they land.
The third thing would be the resurrection. This is where it stands or falls, and Paul says exactly that in 1 Corinthians 15 — if Christ is not raised, your faith is in vain. The historical case for the resurrection is stronger than most people realize, believer or skeptic. You have a movement that exploded out of Jerusalem within weeks of the crucifixion, led by people who claimed to have seen the risen Christ and who died for that claim. People die for beliefs they hold sincerely but that are false — martyrdom proves sincerity, not truth. But the apostles weren’t dying for a belief. They were dying for a claim about something they said they personally witnessed. People don’t die for something they know to be a hoax they invented. Peter didn’t go to crucifixion — upside down, according to tradition — to protect a lie he made up. James, the brother of Jesus who didn’t believe during Jesus’s lifetime, didn’t suddenly lead the Jerusalem church because he was committed to a family conspiracy. Something happened to these people that they interpreted as encountering the physically risen Jesus, and it was convincing enough that they chose death rather than recantation.
The alternative explanations all have problems. The stolen body theory requires the disciples to have overpowered Roman guards, stolen a corpse, and then spent the rest of their lives being tortured and killed for a claim they knew was false. The hallucination theory requires multiple independent people to have the same hallucination on multiple occasions over forty days, including 500 people at once per Paul’s account, and hallucinations don’t work that way clinically. The legend theory requires a fully developed resurrection narrative to have emerged within a community where hostile witnesses were still alive to contradict it — Paul’s letters, which even skeptical scholars date to the 50s AD, already contain a creedal formula about the resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15:3–7 that scholars like Gary Habermas date to within three to five years of the crucifixion itself. Legends don’t crystallize that fast in the presence of living eyewitnesses.
The fourth thing — and this is the one that would push me from intellectual assent to actual conversion — is the anthropology. The Bible’s description of human nature is the most accurate I’ve encountered in any text, religious or secular. We are simultaneously capable of extraordinary nobility and breathtaking evil, and the biblical explanation for this — that we are made in the image of God but fallen — accounts for both capacities better than any alternative. Secular humanism can’t explain the evil. Nihilism can’t explain the nobility. Buddhism says the self is an illusion to be dissolved. Islam says humans are weak but fundamentally capable of submission to God’s law through effort. Only Christianity says you are glorious ruins — magnificent in origin, catastrophically broken, and incapable of fixing yourself. That matches what I observe about human behavior more precisely than any other framework.
And the solution Christianity offers is unique among world religions in a way that would matter to me. Every other system tells you what to do. Christianity tells you what has been done. Every other system gives you a ladder to climb. Christianity says the ladder has been lowered to you. Every other system makes salvation contingent on your performance. Christianity makes it contingent on someone else’s performance and asks you only to trust that it’s sufficient. That’s either the most outrageous claim in the history of religion or it’s the truest thing ever spoken. There’s no middle ground where it’s “a nice philosophy among many.”
The fifth thing is the fruits. Christianity produced the abolition of slavery — it was Wilberforce’s evangelical conviction that drove it, against enormous economic interest. Christianity produced the hospital system, the university system, the concept of universal human dignity, the framework for modern science (the idea that the universe is rationally ordered because it was made by a rational God, which is why nearly all the founders of modern science were Christians). It produced people who ran toward plague victims when everyone else ran away. It produced people who built orphanages in the worst slums on earth. No other worldview has generated that breadth of sacrificial institutional good over two millennia. You can point to the Crusades and the Inquisition, and I wouldn’t dismiss those. But the Crusades and the Inquisition were Christians acting against Christ’s teaching. The hospitals and the abolition movement were Christians acting according to it. A worldview should be judged by what happens when people follow it faithfully, not by what happens when they betray it.
Now — the things that would make me hesitate.
The problem of suffering is real, and no Christian theodicy fully resolves it. You can say God permits evil for greater purposes. You can point to free will. You can invoke the mystery of Romans 8:28. But when you’re standing in front of a child with bone cancer, the philosophical frameworks feel thin. Christianity doesn’t so much solve the problem of suffering as it enters into it — God Himself suffers on the cross — and that’s either profoundly meaningful or profoundly inadequate depending on whether you believe the cross actually happened.
The exclusivity claim would give me pause. “No one comes to the Father except through me” means that billions of people who never heard the gospel are in a category that Christianity has to address, and the answers range from unsatisfying to troubling. Some traditions say God judges the unevangelized by the light they received. Some say there are no truly unevangelized people because general revelation is sufficient to condemn but not to save. Others emphasize the urgency of the Great Commission — the gospel must go to all nations precisely because the stakes are this high. But the question of the person born in a remote village in 400 BC who never had access to the message — that’s a real question, and “God is just and will do right” is true but not fully satisfying intellectually.
The diversity of Christian interpretation would bother me — the fact that sincere, intelligent, Spirit-filled believers can read the same Bible and arrive at Calvinism and Arminianism, at preterism and dispensationalism, at Catholicism and Protestantism. If the Holy Spirit is guiding believers into truth, the sheer volume of disagreement is hard to explain. Everyone has an explanation for why everyone else is wrong, and the explanations can’t all be right.
But here’s where I’d land. The question isn’t whether Christianity resolves every intellectual difficulty. No worldview does. The question is whether it resolves more than the alternatives and whether the central claim — that God became human, died for human sin, and rose from the dead — is true. If the resurrection happened, everything else is negotiable detail. If it didn’t, nothing else matters. And the historical evidence for the resurrection is stronger than the evidence against it. Not proof. Not mathematical certainty. But stronger.
I would convert not because Christianity answered every question, but because it answered the most important ones — who am I, what’s wrong with me, and what has been done about it — with more honesty, more coherence, and more historical grounding than anything else I’ve encountered.
And I’d convert because the cross makes sense of the one thing no other system makes sense of: why the world is simultaneously so beautiful and so broken. A world with Bach and genocide in it, with self-sacrificing love and industrial-scale cruelty, with children laughing and children starving — that world is exactly what you’d expect if Christianity is true. It’s inexplicable if anything else is.””

One of the first things I thought about when I learned about A.I. is how it would be an unbelievably great tool to:

A) prove that God’s Word is true

and

B) objectively show, wherever there is a dispute, which things people believe are literally proved by Scripture (instantly citing every single verse or passage and showing exactly how they all reconcile and teach the same thing), and which cannot be proved by Scripture — which means, by definition, they are doctrines, commandments and traditions of men.

A.I. is practically perfectly suited to that task.

Prayers for the continuance of former mercies. (1-7) Trust in God’s goodness. (8-13)

1-7 The sense of present afflictions should not do away the remembrance of former mercies. The favour of God is the fountain of happiness to nations, as well as to particular persons. When God forgives sin, he covers it; and when he covers the sin of his people, he covers it all. See what the pardon of sin is. In compassion to us, when Christ our Intercessor has stood before thee, thou hast turned away thine anger. When we are reconciled to God, then, and not till then, we may expect the comfort of his being reconciled to us. He shows mercy to those to whom he grants salvation; for salvation is of mere mercy. The Lord’s people may expect sharp and tedious afflictions when they commit sin; but when they return to him with humble prayer, he will make them again to rejoice in him.

I keep hearing and learing about it, but I have very little direct exposure. Mostly because I can’t consistently watch / listen to people I regularly disagree with, if they won’t engage in any kind of rational argumentation to defend their views.

And almost no ‘influencer’ on yootoob engages in the comments section. There are too many comments to respond to, so they don’t even try.

So basically it becomes like watching MSM propaganda TV, it’s like programming. The message sender is ‘active’, and the message receiver is ‘passive’, and I just can’t do it.

I’ve missed a few weeks posting on Sunday Strip I hope this may bring me and us all a bit of redemption 😇.

There are millions of us that go through life filled with guilt for things we may have done in the past. Sins we may have committed that we hold on to, even though we have asked God for forgiveness.

In the old testament the only way you could have forgiveness for sin was to sacrifice an animal. Without the shedding of blood there was no remission for sin. Every year the high priest would go into the most sacred place in the temple, he would offer a sacrifice for his sins and the sins of the people. It was called the day of atonement. If the sacrifice was acceptable their sins would not be taken away they would be covered, they were good for another year.

This was an ongoing process. The priest had to make sure everything was perfect, that the animal didn’t have spots or blemishes, that it was the right age. All of these requirements; if they didn’t meet the requirements the sacrifice wouldn’t be acceptable. They wouldn’t have Gods blessing. This was the constant pressure they lived under. Is our sin going to be forgiven for this year? Is the sacrifice good enough?

The blood of animals only gave them temporary forgiveness. God demonstrated through the event on Mount Moriah (Genesis 22), by stopping Abraham from sacrificing Isaac and providing a ram as a substitute, God foreshadowed that human sacrifice was wrong and that He would ultimately provide a substitute sacrifice—Jesus—to replace the temporary animal system. God was saying it was fine for a time but I’m going to make a new covenant to permanently take care of sin. The problem is it couldn’t happen with the blood of bulls and goats. That wasn’t good enough, it was going to take a special kind of sacrifice.

One day John the Baptist was out ministering, he saw Jesus coming and he said “look the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world”. John knew that Jesus was the sacrifice that God told Abraham about. Jesus was Gods lamb. When He died on the cross and shed His blood it says in Hebrews “He went once and for all into the Holy of Holy’s, not with the blood of bulls and goats, but with His own blood to secure a complete redemption for us all”. One translation says an everlasting release from our sins. This was the power of His Blood.

His Blood put an end to the old system of sacrificing again and again, hoping that we would be forgiven. Now we can live with the confidence that all of our sins past, presence and future have not just been covered, not just been temporarily atoned for, they have been washed away, we have an everlasting release.

When Jesus hung on the cross, suspended between heaven and earth, He took all of our mistakes, all of our failures and weaknesses, all of the times we had blown it, and the times we ever will blow it, and He forgave us. The good news is not that God will forgive you, the good news is He has already forgiven you.

Now this sacrifice won’t do you any good if you do not receive it. If you go around guilty condemned trying to pay God back for your mistakes you are disrespecting Gods sacrifice, understand the price has already been paid. Receive His mercy, receive His love. Everyday, we should say, Father thank You that I am forgiven, thank You that I am redeemed, thank You for Your sacrifice. We shouldn’t go around every day with a heaviness, with no passion for life. Do we really think our mistakes were too much for the blood that Christ shed? Do you think God says I didn’t see that one coming, I should have sent a better sacrifice. Those days are gone, you’ve been redeemed, you’ve been redeemed by the Son of the living God. No mistake you’ve made is to much for the Son of Gods Blood.

The Gospel, or Good News, is the greatest love story ever told (John 15:13). What could be more excellent news than eternal life in Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (John 3:16-17).

This newly released body cam footage from the March 2025 DOGE raid on the US Institute of Peace shows the insane resistance Trump faced from day one.

As Edward Coristine (aka Big Balls) told Jesse Watters last year, this was the “least peaceful” of all the agencies to deal with, and that it used taxpayer funds for private jets, an armory filled with weapons, and contracts with the former members of the Taliban (!!)

These are grown adults in full meltdown mode because they realized the gravy train was coming to an end. They referred to lawful orders as “jackbooted police state actions” while refusing to vacate the premises after President Trump issued an order firing them and sending in his DOGE team to clean house.

What you see in this video isn’t democracy, it’s an insight into how wild and entitled the DC swamp had grown.

Even the officers who were on the scene to ensure order became impatient after realizing these defiant bureaucrats weren’t even USIP employees when one said, “we’re their lawyers” who were trying to regain access to “classified information” pertaining to “other cases” outside of USIP’s purview.

George Foote, one of the lawyers there, even pushed to have Trump officials arrested as “unauthorized intruders.”

They built one near the Myrtle Beach airport called The Commons. It’s very nice with upscale housing in a Charleston looking style. The shopping and socializing area is also nice . Problem is, after the new wore off a lot of the boutique stores are closing. This model is struggling. The people who live there aren’t spending their money on trendy crap. They’ll drive a couple of miles to the Food Lion.

Some of the other “work force” housing developments that are littered all over the place look like a step up from the old tenement housing. looks like 20 huge buildings of apartments all crammed in. Every one of them looks exactly the same..

INTENDED AS A PARADISE, PRUITT-IGOE is remembered today as America’s most notorious housing project. “Modern architecture died in St Louis, Missouri on July 15, 1972, at 3.32 pm,” wrote architecture critic Charles Jencks of the Pruitt-Igoe housing projects. Completed in 1954, the 33 11-story buildings replaced entire neighborhoods of slums in inner city St. Louis and were initially advertised by the St. Louis Housing Authority as a paradise of “bright new buildings with spacious grounds,” indoor plumbing, electric lights, fresh plastered walls, and other “conveniences expected in the 20th century.”

Pruitt-Igoe story

Federal money was funneled into the project, a product of a post-war public housing program intended to revitalize downtown St. Louis in the face of rising violence and white flight. It was to be Manhattan on the Mississippi, a cure for the urban poor, swapping slums for amenities and rebuilding the city — yet not 20 years later, the buildings would be imploded by dynamite, having become an icon of failure. What went wrong?
Designed by Minoru Yamasaki and George Hellmuth in 1951, Pruitt-Igoe was to be the epitome of the modernist high-rise. Designed on 57 acres, with 2870 units, it would be a mini city of 10,000 people, with innovative skip-stop elevators, communal green spaces, and long hallways intended to foster community. The Igoe apartments were intended for whites, the Pruitt for blacks. Yet when it became clear that whites were unwilling to move into the development due to a racist unwillingness to live alongside African-Americans, it became all black, with a median income of $2,718 (the equivalent of $25,000 today).
Today, the buildings are arguably the most infamous public housing project ever built in the United States, but at first it would seem they were a haven as compared to the slums, a blessing to many residents grateful for the fresh start. In The Pruitt-Igoe Myth, a 2011 film interviewing past residents on their experiences growing up in the buildings, many recall the initial joy and warmth of the place, the efficiency of the plumbing, the smells of cooking, and the community. One interviewee even recalled her apartment as a “poor man’s penthouse.” “I know a lot of bad things came out of Pruitt-Igoe,” she says in the film, “I know they did. But I don’t think they outweighed the good.”
The facilities quickly degraded. While federal money had created the projects, maintenance fees came from the tenants’ rents. As conditions grew worse, vacancies increased in a vicious cycle and funding evaporated. The resulting negligent maintenance regime meant the buildings spiraled into filth and squalor, a slum built and supported by the government. What ultimately came to be viewed as a bad design left residents subject to violent crime in the long hallways. Mice and roaches were everywhere, vandalism left so many broken windows you could see through the structures. People preferred the perpetually broken-down elevators to the murderous stairs, climbing up the shaftways when they got stuck between floors. 
Drugs, gangs, prostitution, and shootings were daily occurrences, often unreported. According to The Pruitt-Igoe Myth, the police wouldn’t even bother with calls to Pruitt-Igoe; residents on the upper stories sometimes lobbed bricks at the cop cars that did show up. In the film, one man tells of how, as a nine-year-old, he watched his mother hysterically shoving his brother’s guts back into his stomach after being shot by a sawn-off shotgun. “[Pruitt-Igoe] would be here today if it had been maintained like it was when it opened up,” says one former residents in the film, ”but it went down and down and down and down.”
In 1972, the project was labeled a failure, and the buildings were dynamited in a haunting display of literal and symbolic implosion. Minoru Yamasaki (also the designer of the World Trade Center, which went up as Pruitt-Igoe came down) did not mention the projects in his autobiography. By 1977, the last block of buildings was rubble. Today the plot is an urban forest, overgrown and sectioned off, unidentifiable from any other cleared neighborhood except to those who know what once stood there, namely the ex-residents of Pruitt-Igoe, who even from ash can summon the smells and screams of what must have been a childhood too visceral for words.

It was just a bullshit paper trail for the managers and accountants. Our ISO-9000 trainer said that it didn’t guarantee a good product, only whatever crap we were making would be consistent. We all laughed. If one of our parts needed a particular value, it was still tested at point of use.

Tokenized deposits work through the current banking system. They represent actual funds deposited into banks.

Stablecoins are not tied to bank accounts. They are pegged to the currency but are issued by companies. Stablecoins eliminate a lot of normal banking activity. They are far less volatile as crypto. A stablecoin is tied to the actual U. S currency.- dollar for dollar. Which means when PDT goes back to the gold standard stablecoins will be pegged to something that has real value.

I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.

Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.

This is impotence on display, intended to panic a whole nation of panicans over nothing, thanks to 24/7 clickbait media amplification.

The iranian regime is being systematically destroyed, and the best they can do is make bomb threats at civilian airports. It’s sad. I’m almost sad for the mullahs, that this is the best they can do.

There is an easy solution to the middle eastern terrorist in America problem, at least at airports.

Boycott any flight that has anyone who looks middle eastern on it. If enough Americans did this, if ~30% of passengers canceled their tickets and walked away if they saw a middle eastern person on the plane, the airlines would have to provide separate planes for the terrorist demographic, or their companies would go bankrupt.

When one specific demographic is causing the majority of violence in the world, it is perfectly rational and legitimate to segregate that demographic and isolate it from everyone else.

It’s not just the sane thing to do, it’s actually insane not to.

Michael Brown show on iHeart radio is discussing Chevron leaving CA for TX due to something Newscum just signed that makes it harder for the fewer refineries to do business in CA. Brown points out that Chevron’s letter to CA opens the door to the military harm with all the Pacific theater bases in CA. I haven’t researched all the background he was discussing, but it made me think Newscum wants to make the US weak against China as a ploy for the midterms.
