Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God. – Matthew 19:24

Jesus’ message is clear—it is impossible for anyone to be saved on his own merits. Since wealth was seen as proof of God’s approval, it was commonly taught by the rabbis that rich people were blessed by God and were, therefore, the most likely candidates for heaven. Jesus destroyed that notion, and along with it, the idea that anyone can earn eternal life. The disciples had the appropriate response to this startling statement. They were utterly amazed and asked, “Who then can be saved?” in the next verse. If the wealthy among them, which included the super-spiritual Pharisees and scribes, were unworthy of heaven, what hope was there for a poor man?

Jesus’ answer is the basis of the gospel: “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” (Matthew 19:26). Men are saved through God’s gifts of grace, mercy, and faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Nothing we do earns salvation for us. It is the poor in spirit who inherit the kingdom of God (Matthew 5:3), those who recognize their spiritual poverty and their utter inability to do anything to justify themselves to a holy God. The rich man so often is blind to his spiritual poverty because he is proud of his accomplishments and has contented himself with his wealth. He is as likely to humble himself before God as a camel is to crawl through the eye of a needle.

It’s my sweet little Yorkie, “Sona”.
He turned 12 last Christmas.
He and I have been inseparable for these 12 years. We’ve been through a lot together.
Today I found out that we may well be at the start of The Long Farewell.
Several chronic health issues with him are getting worse and will become unmanageable fairly soon.
I know that Sona would stay around, even in pain and no real quality of life, because he loves me.
And I can’t let that happen.
Medical science has done about all it can for my little guy. I know I must turn the outcome over to the Almighty God.
The friends and family I’ve discussed this matter with congratulate me on “how brave I am” and “so glad you’re facing reality”.
But they don’t see what I see in my Sona’s eyes. They don’t snuggle with him — I do. They don’t have a history with him — I do.
This is a hard time.
I have to believe that dogs do indeed go to Heaven.

Ozzytrumpster

When you ring the doorbell on the pearly gates the din from millions of dogs barking is going to shock the socks off you

Sylvia Avery

I believe this ozzy.

Ozzytrumpster

Love what you say here, Ozzy…..thanks. I hope will be of comfort to CV too. ~~~Hard hard time…. Love to you, CV—-and to all here. Nice to be a part of a community that immediately cares, when we are in pain

boondocksaint1

He’ll be there waiting for you, CV!!!💖🙏

I answered this at Marica’s blog, but I wanted to add this….
The very dearest dog I’ve ever had, Murphy, who was part of my own heart had lymphoma and I treated him with chemotherapy. He lived another year before it came back and I started treatment again until he let me know it was time. I encountered some judgment from people, even vets, about my decisions regarding his treatment and ultimately my decision to let him go. Try to shake those off if you can, CV. You consult your heart, your soul, Sona, and God and you’ll know what to do, and when.

New Nonna, Again!!! 🤗

CV, I’m so sorry for your heart ache. We had to put our 12 1/2 year old yellow lab down the end of this past January. Her hind legs just wouldn’t support her anymore, and her last 2 nights with us she just barked and barked. At the vet’s, in the room to put her sleep, she seemed relieved with ‘what was coming’, as if she just couldn’t take the pain anymore and was ‘ready to go’. I’m so sorry this pain comes to every loving ‘owner’ of a loyal, loving dog. She was more than human than some humans. I suspect your ‘Sona’ was, too.
This video just ripped the scab right off my heart, Sylvia. I’m sorry for every owner who has this pain.
I do hope and pray she and our other best friends from over the years are indeed with us for eternity. God put all the animals in the Garden of Eden, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t be in Eternity in Heaven. Still, I hope and pray God sees it that way.
Our son, wife and 3 year old son unexpectedly lost their 12 year old rescue on the 17th. They were on vacation with other family, and while on the beach with our 3 year old grandchild, our son said one minute their best pup was trying to roll in the horseshoe crabs, and the next, he couldn’t go on. Long story short, after a trip to an emergency vet, and surgery to see why he was bleeding internally, his heart stopped while in the table. End of life sometimes comes so quickly and unexpectedly. As I told our son, whether we watch our much loved friend decline and have to make a terribly difficult decision, or they leave us suddenly, it’s one of the worst events in our lives.
My point is… you’re not alone. I type this through tears, as the pain of separation from her still breaks my heart. But we humans have been blessed to have been lucky enough to have had such loving companions to journey with us for many years. Many never know that joy, or the desperate pain of losing them. Do I pity them or look at them like, ‘that’s a good thing!’? I don’t know. But I’m grateful for the loving memories. The many, many happy memories. Treasure yours.
We are not alone in our grief. You, and all who have experienced the pain are in my prayers.
🙏🏼♥️😢

Oh, CV, I hate to find that out. I am so sorry, I fully understand your pain; I went through that with my “Cimone” not so very long ago. God bless you, sweetie!! Yes, I believe that our fur buddies go to heaven…”over the rainbow bridge”. 💓💗

((( CV & Sona. )))…

Concerned Virginian

Hello to all,
Thank you so much.
It’s been a tough time for me since my husband’s death two years ago.

nikkichico7

Big hug for you CV, .. it’s hard to do the right thing, but when you love them you do what’s right and it is hard. 😔❤️
Proverbs 12:10
10 The just regardeth the lives of his beasts: but the bowels of the wicked are cruel
James 4:10 Douay
10 Be humbled in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
James 4:10
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
I had a cat, his name was Trouble, he was a tuxedo cat and handsome, but stubborn, hence his name. When he become so sick my younger son called me at work and said Trouble wasn’t doing well. I asked him to take him to the vet so he would suffer anymore. My son said he went and got the crate and Trouble walked into without any coaxing. It broke my sons heart, and mine too. He was an AWESOME
cat, and his name suited him to a “T”.
My heart hurts for you .. God bless you and comfort you. Sona was blessed to have you as his human, God knew … 😔❤️

New Nonna, Again!!! 🤗

See Nikki!! They know. They love us but they know when they can’t take it any longer. Loving them includes helping them end their suffering when their body doesn’t do it for them, like our sweet grand dog’s heart did on the operating table. Sad, terrible, hard as nails, but love dictates us helping them, I think.
I’m sorry for your son and your loss and broken hearts. 😫😢

nikkichico7

Awww … thank you New Nona, and we understand what needs to be done it is hard though. God blessed us with animals and charged us with caring for them and He pays attention … 🙂🤚❤️❤️❤️

We know your pain dear CV and we are here for you, I have lost 2 of the dogs we brought to California when I moved here 10 years ago. We will have to go thru the pain 18 more times with the herd we have, it never gets easier to lose a friend/ companion but rest assured they are waiting on the other side patiently….
MLAR CV night and God bless you…
