Dear MAGA: Open Topic 20181224

This SPECIAL CHRISTMAS EVE open thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA world.

Say what you want, comment on what other people said, comment on people’s comments.  Keep it civil.  Treehouse rules, but expect lots of QAnon.

Remember – your greatest gift to President Trump is FIVE WORDS:

I AM PRAYING FOR YOU

Today (Monday, December 24) is the last day of Advent – Christmas Eve.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/advent-2018-what-meaning-how-13663762

The 146th day of next year, which shall be celebrated here as Ma Cankles Uranium Day, is:

SUNDAY, MAY 26, 2019

I highly recommend a visit to whitehouse.gov where you can find wonderful historical pages, including a page for that most faithful patriot, George Washington, who risked all on a cold Christmas night to save his fledgling Country. His advice to the nation upon leaving office still rings true.

The good angels always start with “Fear not.”
They say that because you are face down, blinded by the glory given to them by God.
I like that.comment image

So this is where all the cool people went! Actually I’ve been eyeing a branch here (lurking) for some time now…and why not, all of my favorite banned, naughty posters are here! I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Keep up the good work, Wolfmoon, I like what you’ve done with the place. That other joint…well, what can I say? It’s been drained of any joy, humor and goodwill that was so prevalent for so long and had attracted me there since late 2014 early 2015. Now that any and all talk of Q has been banned I do find it quite amusing that they still talk about Q so much. I don’t know what happened in the background there to cause such drastic change but it has now become such a black hole of negativity that I don’t dare post there. Oh, well, such is the internet. Easy come, easy go.

Hi Harry! Always enjoyed your posts at CTH.

Merry Christmas, sunnydaysall!!

Sylvia Avery

Christmas Eve was always such a beautiful time for my family. We had a special dinner, opened gifts, and just enjoyed our tree and decorations and Christmas music and each other. Christmas Day always included extended family and friends for dinner, sort of like another Thanksgiving except with Christmas movies.
Almost all of them are gone, now, and I miss them terribly. But what a blessing to have had that experience every year for so many years and to love and be loved by all of them! Those memories will be a joy forever. My world is much smaller and quieter now, but I am grateful for those who remain that I get to be with this Christmas.
While my holiday will be super low key compared to days gone by, there are certain special traditions to enjoy and honor. I’ll be running around doing last minute errands and chores but I’ll try to check in here and there because what if I missed something?????
I just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and thank you for your understanding, thought-provoking posts, support, and laughter. This is such a great group. Love you all and enjoy yourselves!

wheatietoo

Aww…Thank you, sweet Sylvia.
We love you back!

Well, this is disquieting. California moved their primary election up to March 3, 2020. This means the fruits and nuts and illegal alien voters of cloud cuckoo land (sorry California friends, we know you are out there just outnumbered) will be sucking up the time, attention, and money of candidates. Forget the flyover folk of Iowa and the Live Free or Die people of New Hampshire. California is now going to be ENORMOUSLY influential in selecting the Presidential candidates. Ugh.
FTA:
“The idea that millions of absentee and mail-in votes could be cast in advance of California’s actual primary election day — and the prospect that presidential candidates might bypass the early states entirely to concentrate on target-rich California — is finally beginning to sink in.”
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/12/23/2020-elections-democratic-primaries-california-new-hampshire-1073438

wheatietoo

Disquieting…yes, very disquieting.
That sucks so much that even leftist Politico seems to be lamenting it.

Sylvia Avery

IKR? That CANNOT be good.

Gudthots

Is this what E. Holder has been up to in the Golden State?

Sylvia Avery

I don’t know.
But I do know if something foul has occurred and Eric Holder is in the vicinity there is likely a connection. He is a nasty piece of work.

wheatietoo

Oh yeah…I’ll bet you’re right.
That’s why they are paying him the big bucks.

Pat Frederick

like an STD–after you’re screwed, it’s too late

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

And like many diseases, it’s “progressive.”

Pat Frederick

HA–that’s a good one!

Spab

Unfortunately for the candidates it will take California until the convention to count the votes. By then they will know who the front runner is and can push that one over the top or throttle him or her if they don’t like the people’s choice..

Gil

Every leader in CA is corrupt to the core, bc they are all dems. Some Rs but so many are outnumbered. Its never been clear what consulting for the AG holder has done. The continual counting of ballots is so obviously fraud too. Im not sure h5iw much worse it will get.
Q has repeatedly said watch California. I hoped it would mean something good is going to happen. Nothing has visibly, yet.

Sylvia Avery

“They can sense it. They can feel it. Something is seriously wrong in our civilization, and many people know it. This is why despite the relatively good economic times, most Americans polled say our country is on the “wrong track.” Yet many are like a gravely ill man who knows he’s not well but can’t precisely identify his ailment. Most often, Americans have only a vague sense of cultural malaise, or they “self-diagnose” wrongly…
Yet moral relativism/nihilism has swept Western civilization. And hell has followed with it.
How relativistic/nihilistic are we? A Barna Group study found that in 2002 already, most Americans did not believe in (absolute) Truth, in morality; in fact, only six percent of teens did. Thus are they most likely to base what once were called “moral decisions” on … wait for it … feelings. Surprise, surprise.
Such prevailing philosophical/moral rot collapses civilization. For anything can be justified. Rape, kill, steal, violate the Constitution as a judge, commit vote fraud? Why not? Who’s to say it’s wrong? Don’t impose values on me, dude….”
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/12/restoring_civilization.html

Gudthots

Good perspective (recorded back in November). Remember the warning. Don’t touch the one God has anointed. It won’t go well for those who do.
https://youtu.be/UosUvqtZ_zM

rayzorbak

Remember……. We are not “called” to be “Moral”…..
As that is a Human terminology.
WE are “called” to be HOLY…
As that is a GODLY term.

rayzorbak

“Morality changes over time according to the will of Man…..
“Holiness” NEVER changes…… as it is an attribute of GOD than does NOT change.

NebraskaFilly

Now THAT hits the nail squarely on the head!

scott467

Not sure if anyone posted this before or not, but it’s from Stealth Jeff / Brian Cates, and it relates directly to SD’s doom-and-gloom post about Huber/Horowitz yesterday.
It’s EXACTLY what SD is doing, which leads me to believe that either SD isn’t even part of CTH anymore, or SD is running a disinformation campaign to benefit somebody.
Here is an excerpt of two Tweets, followed by a link:
…………………..
Brian Cates
‏ @drawandstrike
5h5 hours ago
I saw the news about Flynn’s DIA op coming. I wrote my column on Wednesday 2 days before Solomon did his radio interview with Gregg Jarrett on the Hannity show.
How come Last Refuge, Toensing, DiGenova, all these others saying ‘nothing’s happening’ don’t see it coming?
.
Brian Cates
‏ @drawandstrike

Every time there’s movement, every time the curtain gets pulled back and you’re shown something, you gotta understand:
Some people out there are highly INVESTED in a narrative NOTHING’S HAPPENING.
Their SOURCES say nothing’s happening so by God NOTHING’S HAPPENING.
…………………..

scott467

It’s like he’s writing about SD specifically:
………………………………..
Brian Cates
‏ @drawandstrike
13h13 hours ago
“Oh wow, we just found Flynn was on a clandestine mission for the DIA when…”
“STOP. ABORT THAT THOUGHT. LOOK OVER HERE! OMG, HUBER AND HOROWITZ….THEY ARE *DEEP STATE* PEOPLE! IT’S ALL OVER! WE’RE ALL DOOMED!”
………………………………..
Did SD even comment on Flynn running a DIA mission during the time that Mueller claimed he was working with Muh Russia?
Or did SD go straight to ‘Look, Squirrel!’ without even passing ‘Go’?

Sylvia Avery

I don’t recall anything about Flynn’s DIA mission.

Pat Frederick

nope me either…not a word…he went directly to squirrel

Sylvia Avery

I think you’re right. Hmm…one more mystery.

Sylvia Avery

What is this DIA operation Flynn was supposedly running? I seemed to have missed that entirely….

scott467

This is what I found originally:

It must have been reported elsewhere (including The Hill, Solomon’s media outlet), but there is so much information / evidence incriminating so many people that finding a specific piece of information is like trying to identify and isolate a specific drop of water from Niagara Falls…

Sylvia Avery

Boy, that’s the truth. I may have heard about this DIA op in passing and just don’t remember it because so much has come out. So much, so fast. It is like a fire hose gushing away.

Aubergine

John Solomon found some evidence that Flynn was running an operation in the lead up to 2016, and there is apparently an exculpatory document to prove it.
I am speculating that the DIA operation Flynn was running was a setup to allow him to get in position to influence/change/control something. This would be a part, I think, of the ‘Q’ plan. The generals were preparing the road for Trump, and this was part of it, somehow. From Brian Cates, it looks like Flynn’s company was set up in 2014, made some contacts, and closed up shop in 2016 without ever doing much. Sure seems like it was a shell for some kind of op. If Flynn were to let his role get out, I suspect that whatever he accomplished would fall apart. So he has to play along as though he was actually guilty.
Whatever the exculpatory document Solomon knows about, it outlines or hints at whatever Flynn was actually doing.

I love cardinals. They are so spectacular! My DH and I went to the midwest to have Thanksgiving with some of his family one year and it had snowed and those beautiful cardinals were just stunningly beautiful against the fresh white snow. I”ll never forget it.

wheatietoo

I love cardinals too!
Hubby is fascinated by them…apparently there are no cardinals where he grew up in Canada.
We have feeders out and always try to make sure there is plenty of food in them, for the cardinals to feed on right before sundown.
Sometimes at dust…there around 50 or more out there.
We even have a couple of albino cardinals that show up.

Sylvia Avery

We don’t have them here, either, and they are just so gorgeous. Albino? Wow, that’s cool!

wheatietoo

Yep, albino.
Apparently they aren’t all that rare, since there are a lot of photos of them online.
One of them is very pale, like this:
comment image
.
The other one looks more like this:
comment image
.
We only see them on overcast days, or at dusk/dawn.
The bright sunlight must be hard on their eyes.

Sylvia Avery

The one with the pink accents is interesting looking.

wheatietoo

Yes it is.
I’m thinking that’s a female, since there is an all red male that shows up with her…and acts very protective of her.

Sylvia Avery

Ah, that’s so sweet!

Pat Frederick

wow, thanks for sharing–I’ve never seen one before!

Tonawanda

Cardinals are monogamous.
My wife and I saw a cardinal in our snow covered front yard the first year we were married. (Just beautiful, like Wheatie’s card above.)
We looked up the “meaning” of cardinals, and immediately decided our sighting was a blessing on our marriage.
Merry Christmas to all!

Sylvia Avery

That is SO romantic! What a sweet memory. I’d be blubbering like a baby every time I saw a cardinal. Thanks for sharing that little bit of beauty with us.

Merry Christmas Wheatie!! Thank you for your warm welcome and your inspiring words here at this special Q TREE! Hugs!

Alison

Wheatie, I love this!!!! Dad used to feed the cardinals in Michigan, and I miss seeing them (they don’t reside in Colorado).
Last year Hubby and I had a pair visit us every morning & afternoon at our feeder in rented AZ house. We planned our golf outings around feeding times 😊
Thanks for the memories.

wheatietoo

You’re very welcome, Alison.
Cardinals are such wonderful little birds.
Shy and well-behaved…they eat a little at the feeders, then quickly leave to let another take their place.
I’m surprised to hear they are not in Colorado.

A couple of excerpts about Meng Wanzhou’s arrest and why China has lost it’s mind over it.
https://nypost.com/2018/12/22/how-arrest-of-chinese-princess-exposes-regimes-world-domination-plot/
“Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou’s arrest in Vancouver on Dec. 6 led to immediate blowback.
Furious Chinese Communists have begun arresting innocent Canadians in retaliation. So far, three of these “revenge hostages” have been taken and are being held in secret jails on vague charges. Beijing hints that the hostage count may grow if Meng is not freed and fast.
Even for a thuggish regime like China’s, this kind of action is almost unprecedented.
So who is Meng Wanzhou?…..
…It turns out that “Princess” Meng, as she is called, is Communist royalty. Her grandfather was a close comrade of Chairman Mao during the Chinese Civil War, who went on to become vice governor of China’s largest province.
She is also the daughter of Huawei’s Founder and Chairman, Ren Zhengfei. Daddy is grooming her to succeed him when he retires.
In other words, Meng is the heiress apparent of China’s largest and most advanced hi-tech company, and one which plays a key role in China’s grand strategy of global domination.
Huawei is a leader in 5G technology and, earlier this year, surpassed Apple to become the second largest smartphone maker in the world behind Samsung.
But Huawei is much more than an innocent manufacturer of smartphones.
It is a spy agency of the Chinese Communist Party….”

wheatietoo

How about we *not* let her go…and cut off all trade with China for 5 years.
Hah.
It really pisses me off that we’re helping to fund their space program.
At the very least, China should lose it’s ‘developing nation’ designation.
Seriously…
You can’t have a space program…and still be a ‘developing nation’!

wheatietoo

Or dodging pitchforks and bricks!

And the answer that nobody ever thinks to try is EXPOSING the bad guys for all the world to see, just like we did during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Giant color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one.
Go before the U.N. and lay out the case against this Chinese spy and everything China has been doing.
Then show that China, in ‘retaliation’, is kidnapping innocent Canadians, for which China is to be put on trial, and when found guilty, the entire world will enforce sanctions, and China can trade with itself for about 6 months before it collapses totally.
Screw these people, all of them.

If WE had one-millionth of the Chutzpah that the Left has without even thinking about it, we would shame China and every other rogue nation into oblivion in the same way the Left ‘shames’ everybody with whom they disagree.

Haaa. 😆
Oh noes! He must be stopped!
He is ending all our little wars!

NYGuy54

I’m laughing because it is true. America has gone mad.

scott467

Yes, I saw that. The author of the article for ‘Army Times’ should be demoted and booted out of the military.
Either he/she is grotesquely uneducated with regard to the role of the military and hierarchy of command, or he/she is a Deep State embed running interference & propaganda (sedition) INSIDE the military.
Why is this dirtbag not confined to a cell somewhere, awaiting charges?

wheatietoo

Yes. Thank you, Scott!
That was my thought too…uh, a “check” on our President’s military power?
Since when is that the job of the SecDef?!!
This person should be in the brig!

sobriquet3

The author of that article is Tara Copp the Pentagon Bureau Chief for Military Times and as far as I can tell she was never military. Looks like Tara made her way to the top by writing about Grandpa’s war experiences and winning journalist awards. She obviously at one time was in Iraq as a journalist but with the protection of troops. So that must make her an expert…spit. Another propagandist speaking for the military. This is just another reason why so many great soldiers and Marines have left our military en masse.

Pat Frederick

I agree with the commenters on that thread that ask why wasn’t everyone’s hair on fire when Obama fired him–and all the other top military at one time???

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Of course the ONLY reverse it could be–the presidential seal!

Sylvia Avery

Here’s an interesting tale of FAKE NEWS with the added twist that it is from a popular respected German “journalist” for a German lefty paper so they have all been so pleased with the image it has created for them of ‘Merica, the flyover country. Except it is fake. If you haven’t followed this story, well, it is by turns amusing and infuriating. Our Ambassador to Germany, Rick Grennell, has launched a few tweets about this as well (Go, Rick!)
“The case of Claas Relotius, Der Spiegel and the town of Fergus Falls, Minnesota has become notorious. Der Spiegel, Europe’s most widely-read news source, fired Relotius, one of Germany’s most honored journalists, when it came to light that he had made up facts in a number of articles he wrote for the magazine. The Fergus Falls fiction was exposed by two residents of that town, who wrote an article in Medium listing the “top 11 most absurd lies” in Relotius’s piece, which was titled “Where They Pray For Trump on Sundays” and was intended to enlighten Europeans about America’s bizarre Trump voters…”

Great video!!

NYGuy54

awesome I loved it. So many memories already.

Deplorable Patriot

Definitely more satisfying than the official video of that song.

Tonawanda

At 6:38 AM Eastern on F & F they are discussing the Chaos Narrative, and had a series of clips showing various communists broadcasting the Narrative.
Wow, The Narrative is so phony and so scripted, they just do not care. It’s their Narrative, and they are sticking with it.
As I watched, a bolt of fear went through me. Wolfmoon’s analysis is correct. This desperate absurdity of a Narrative is a cover for action, not a mere political ploy.

Tonawanda

At 7:11 AM the chaos issue is again being shown on F & F, and Chris Christie is ENDORSING the Narrative with the spin that chaos is what Trump supporters want. Wow, what a despicable person.

wheatietoo

Wow, Tona…they actually said “Chaos Narrative”?
That’s kind of cool.
I had to turn it on just now to see if Pete Hegseth was on this morning, because I could see him talking about it.
But no…he isn’t one of the F&F crew this morning.
Griff Jenkins is on though, and he’s pretty good.
I can see him talking about it.

Tonawanda

I think “narrative” is just my description, although it may have been mentioned.
The second segment at 7:11 was worse because chaos was treated as a given.

Emeraldstar

Even Leon Panetta joined the chorus of “muh, Chaos”.
Of course, it is THEY who are feeling the chaos, not we!
Merry Christmas, Tona, to you and yours!

Tonawanda

TY so much! And Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Yes, THEY are the ones in chaos!

Tonawanda

Wolfmoon, I take ALL of your insights very seriously! They are extraordinary.
Q says “expand your thinking,” and you not only actually do, but also are one of the few who actually can. Every person has a gift. Insight and wider thinking is yours.
I knew this from the Classic Post you made way back when. I think I was the first person to reply to your post, before Sundance promoted it to an article, and I said: “This may be the best post ever.”
And it continues.
I laughed at your “No comment” from yesterday, because I had already realized the nature of what was behind the “No comment” long ago. And what MAY have been behind the post which elicited the “No comment” (MAY, but probably not, but maybe) was an attempt to have you self-dox, a clumsy provocation from which you were protected by your insight and character.
About VSG as STz, especially regarding chaos, yes.
I sometimes think about bitter divorces as the occasion arises, when people are in a panic, feeling cornered and agitated daily, the deepest anger and questioning about life, a hyper-acute sense of “fairness” and who was right and who was wrong. Hysterical hatred.
What do these people do? Well, look at the left, and that is what they are doing. Chief among these things is the construction of a Narrative, told to all and sundry, every possible minute of every day, about the other person. The other person is a liar and a beast. The other person is guilty of crime and weird psychological derangement. The other person is not fit to live among decent people.
A lot of this behavior is totally rational and strategic, anticipating what the other person will do and placing it in a negative context. But it is also simultaneously genuinely felt and thought. It answers the daily questions: what is happening to me, and what will happen to me, questions enhanced by the acute fear of personal exposure by the other person, who after all knows certain details intimately.
Here are two thoughts about VSG. It is impossible for me to believe – – impossible – – that he would let US down. He knows and understands.
And, all’s well that ends well. VSG knows that, too.
Merry Christmas!

daughnworks247

Years ago, I was up in my Mother-in-Law’s attic, rummaging around for extra old books. We finished a rehab of another bedroom at the B&B and I was trying to fill in an old bookcase – with books. My deceased father-in-law was a former printer, and collected fabulous first editions all his life. I was looking to ‘borrow’ a few.
I always wondered about my father-in-law. He died before I came along but everyone in town smiled wistfully when they spoke of him. Good guy.
It was the rest of the family that was hard, cold, petty, and angry all the time. Time after time I tried to reach out to members of the family, poking their bristly exterior. Nothing worked. Why so mean?
The low eaves of the attic forced me to sit on an old trunk while I browsed old photo albums, broken toys, a spectacular but Avocado Green/Harvest Gold afghan, and Christmas decorations. Suddenly the trunk I was sitting on gave way, bringing me out of my haze. I opened the trunk to find the family bible which went back to 1600’s Germany, old marriage and baptism certificates, photos from generations, and a pile of letters carefully wrapped in a blue ribbon. The letters proved to be the greatest family treasure of all.
Pulling the blue ribbon on the letters was like stepping into a time machine. The letters were one soldier’s story of events throughout World War 2. These were the letters my father-in-law wrote to my mother-in-law before they were married. He went into Omaha beach and fought all the way to the end. The letters were lightweight, fragile, vague but incredibly vivid. In one letter, he wrote two pages almost entirely about a single tree, ablaze with fall color. I couldn’t believe what I was reading, so rich, so pure, so personal.
Then,
I found a letter, dated December 24, 1944, 74 years ago, today.
It was the midst of the Battle of the Bulge, Christmas Eve, and he was writing a letter to his sweetheart. He wrote of her family kitchen, the smells, her crazy aunt Dot, the food they must be making, the snow in Wisconsin – without a single word of how cold and miserable it was for him and his men.
By then, I was tearing up, wiping my nose on that ugly afghan. We all know the history. I reached for my coffee but it was empty. I must have been up there for hours.
Continuing and unable to stop reading, I unfolded the bottom third of the letter, and a small advertisement clipping fell out. Jagged edges meant it was obviously torn from a magazine. It was a drawing of a woman in a sheer lace-trimmed but tasteful black negligee. I grinned and thought…., after all, he was a man.
The bottom third of the letter was his proposal of marriage to her. In beautiful penmanship, it was touching and heartfelt, he encouraged her to join him, build a family, and take a chance on him…., even though, he thought, she deserved better. He wrote about the profile of her neck and her warm touch. The negligee was intended for the wedding night.
By the end of the letter, tears were streaming down my face. There wouldn’t have been a single woman in the world who could have refused the love of such a man.
And as we can all imagine, he woke up in the morning and went back to the war…., dreaming of her, yet uncertain of his own future.
In secret, I had the December 24th, 1944 letter, along with the magazine clipping, preserved and framed by a real art historian. We traveled that year to Wisconsin for Christmas and had a large, extended family dinner on Christmas Eve. The timing was perfect. I wrapped the letter/frame and gave it to my hard-hearted sister-in-law before the big family dinner. It forced my sister-in-law to read the letter aloud. She barely got through it. We all cried – not a dry eye. The emotion poured and cracked the crusty exterior. It’s never too late to love, be humbled, and feel the spirit of gratefulness at Christmastime. We now read the letter every Christmas Eve.
To all those who served and are/were away from home during Christmas, know that you are loved. To all those who did not come home, know that we still honor your memory.
God Bless and Merry Christmas!

churchmouse

What a marvellous Christmas story, daughn!
Best wishes for a very happy Christmas!

k, I didn’t read the letter, yet tears are streaming from my eyes…what a wonderful and thoughtful gift.

daughnworks247

Like many others, I don’t ever really remember what presents I receive. I do remember the ones I give. THAT was the best one.

Emeraldstar

That’s interesting, Daughn – I’m the opposite!
I remember what others give to me, and tend to forget what I do for others.
You’ve written some amazing posts! Always a pleasure to read …
Merry Christmas to you, and to your family!

NebraskaFilly

Um, maybe it’s just me but…..might you want to re-word that a bit? I can’t imagine you meant it to come out that way…..”forget what I do for others?” My apologies if I am being too thin-skinned again but I just don’t feel Daughn deserves a statement like that…

Emeraldstar

Filly, I’ve had numerous sociopaths in my family, who remember every single thing that they’ve done for others, and then USE THAT against those whom they’ve helped. They also forget, conveniently, what others have done for them.
They also remember every slight against them, real or fancied. It’s called “grievance collecting”, and it’s a part of a pathological personality disorder. It’s the flip side to “benefit collecting”, which I described in the first paragraph.
To summarize, they remember everything they’ve ever done for another, to the detriment of that “another”, and forget everything that’s ever been done for them – again, to the detriment of that “another”.
It’s abnormal psychology, Filly. I understand your point, though. Who wouldn’t remember fondly such a gift given, and such a benefit to all of such a deed?
But, no, I don’t wish to rephrase. Once I give, it’s done, and I let it go. I didn’t mean my comment as a “dis” (and I hope Daughn understands!), but merely as a different perspective.
Ahhh – let’s forget contention! I’m very thankful for your posts, and perspectives, and I hope that you (and yours) have a wonderful Christmas!
I’m glad you’re here!

NebraskaFilly

What a great story. I happen to be in WI for Christmas, and stopped for a short break at a wayside along I-94. There is a sign there that states 80% of the eligible adult male population served in WWII in some capacity. And some portion of the remaining 20% did not serve because of the need for their expertise in manufacturing war materiel.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow Treepers here. And God Bless Wolfie for creating this oasis for us.

Emeraldstar

Merry Christmas, A Fortiori!
And yes, you’re right, too – this site is a blessing.
Let me take a moment to express my thanks, to you, for your perspectives. You often post something which seems against the grain, but it is even more valuable for being so. I’ve found that you’ve been right, often enough, for me to highlight it.
After I posted my rebuttal to you, in re the 8-chans “style” (a euphemism!), and subsequently, understanding that you pay a LOT of attention to what is said there … I regretted my tone, in my reply to you. You remember that post of mine, yes?
It’s the “shills” that post (almost) all the nasty stuff – and it’s been getting worse. I feel like I over-reacted somewhat, in defense of that site. I’ll take whatever the site gives me, though, no matter what is posted … but I also dislike the egregious “explicity”. It’s a cost I wish we needn’t have to pay.
May you and yours have a blessed Holiday, and please – keep on posting as you wish! It’s one of the qualities which makes this site so valuable.
Cheers!

I know this is so basic, 😄- but I don’t know how to post an image coupled with an mp3 – both of which are on my desktop. Can someone help me out? (It’s the Morten Lauridsen O Magnum Mysterium, but not the choir version. It’s Jane Thorngren with Lauridsen at the piano. You won’t be the same once you hear it.)

Emeraldstar

Hi GingersMom!
I’m not much further ahead than you, tech-wise, but I’ll give it a go.
First – don’t post ANYTHING to social media which “resides” on your own desktop! There is identifying “meta-data” that can be gleaned from that, and you can become vulnerable to doxxing.
So – try to search Youtube for the video, using the specific keywords from the title, or do the same from a search engine like DucjDuckGo.
Then, once you find the video you’re looking for, start playing that video on your computer, directly from the internet site where you found it, then pause it. It will still be “active”, and available to copy.
Move your cursor up to the URL address bar at the top (usually) of your browser, and click there, and the entire internet-address of the video should be highlighted. Then, you can copy it (“cut” part of “cut and paste”), and it will be in a temporary memory spot.
For me, “CONTROL + C” is “cut”, and “CONTROL + V” is “paste”. Meaning, while holding the control-key depressed, press the letter-key as well. (I have Apple; MS may be slightly different.
Then, come back to this site (sometimes it’s better to open a second “window”, to have BOTH sites open at the same time), begin a post, and then you can “paste” it into your comment. Make SURE to leave a blank line (“return” keyboard-button) in your post both BEFORE, and AFTER, the pasted / copied link.
I’m pretty sure I’ve got it about 90% right, maybe 100%.
Happy tech-sleuthing, and Merry Christmas!

singularZoe

Emerald, I have Microsoft, but this is interesting, you are a good teacher. Wonder if I can learn to do this, not sure, but I’m going to work on it. You are a good teacher.

NebraskaFilly

If I may – I have MS – once you move your cursor to the URL in the box on the top, click on it and it should become shaded – right click while you “hover” over it and the menu will pop-up – click “copy,” move your cursor to this page, click on “reply.” Inside that box, right click and click “paste.” Put a carriage return before and after the line with the link for it to display on this thread. Hope I got that right and it helps you.

NebraskaFilly

EEEEEWWWWWWW

Pat Frederick

this blurb is from SD:
“Defense Secretary James Mattis wanted us to stay in Paris accord. Trump said no. Mattis wanted us to stay in the Iran deal. Trump said no. Mattis wanted less pressure on NATO. Trump said no. Mattis wanted to keep soldiers in Syria. Trump said no. Mattis wanted to hang around until February… Trump said no”
there is still fighting going on over “there” about Mattis and someone posted that there was a NATO conference he wanted to attend–which is in part why he wanted to defer retirement till Feb…
But as with Speaker Ryan, I think once you announce you’re leaving–you go. lock up his office, confiscate his computer, restrict his access and wish him well. Since he obviously disagrees with POTUS and his agenda, why allow him to continue?

NYGuy54

I’m not a fan of Mattis. He can be replaced pretty easily with someone more in line with MAGA. The media is wildly overplaying their hand. POTUS will find a way to embarass them again

Pat Frederick

To those few Senators who think I don’t like or appreciate being allied with other countries, they are wrong, I DO. What I don’t like, however, is when many of these same countries take advantage of their friendship with the United States, both in Military Protection and Trade…

We are substantially subsidizing the Militaries of many VERY rich countries all over the world, while at the same time these countries take total advantage of the U.S., and our TAXPAYERS, on Trade. General Mattis did not see this as a problem. I DO, and it is being fixed!

A medical doctor reviews open source information available about RBG’s health and opines.
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/12/justice_ginsburgs_failing_health.html
“Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to be in the news as questions mount over her health and ability to serve on the US Supreme Court. Most recently, she underwent, “Surgery to remove two malignant nodules from her left lung, the Supreme Court says.”
Yet a week ago, she was the picture of health and vigor, announcing, “My health is fine, ribs are almost repaired.” These two announcements, a week apart, don’t pass the smell test. Much like Hillary Clinton’s excellent health and fitness to serve as president despite her falls, double vision, and coughing spells…”

there was no source given, (over there) but someone commented that NBC? CBS? ABC? reported RBG voted from her hospital bed.

Sylvia Avery

I saw that. I actually saw the tweet somewhere but I can’t remember which network provided the info. I don’t think that should be allowed.

wheatietoo

Yes, that’s been reported…they act like it’s ‘no big deal’.
But how is that even legal?!
When has that ever happened before?
Seems like here have been times when other Justices were absent from the bench…and they didn’t vote from some outside location.

Pat Frederick

if she was using pain medication is it even legal?

Sylvia Avery

It is too much like Woodrow Wilson’s wife signing papers for him, etc., for the last bit of his presidency after he was incapacitated by his stroke. It’s just wrong.

TheseTruths

If Hillary were president [shudder], we would have Huma signing things for her.

NebraskaFilly

There was one person Tweeting that was being repeatedly posted OT, from what I saw, and I also read that hadn’t been proven to be true. IMO, this is probably how it went down – this surgery has been scheduled for quite some time. I would guess she could have voted BEFORE going to the hospital or, perhaps, from the hospital (can they phone it in?) before being medicated for the surgery. But, I can’t say for sure so….anyhoo, “what difference now does it make?” Even if it is illegal, who is going to do anything about it? SMH

sunnydaysall

“Surgery to remove two malignant nodules from her left lung, the Supreme Court says.”
Doesn’t “malignant” mean… really, really bad?
malignant [mah-lig´nant]
tending to become progressively worse and to result in death; having the properties of anaplasia, invasiveness, and metastasis; said of tumors.

sunnydaysall

I hear ya, wolfmoon!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It specifically means “cancerous” in this connection.
And, since I am reminded of it, even though it’s not quite on topic here, I’ll pull out my old standby: It’s not “Progressive” as in “progress,” it’s “Progressive” as in “cancer.”

sunnydaysall

She has got to have reached her limit of remission!! They keep bringing this evil woman back from the dead and if it were you or I they would of written us off long ago! I will bet ya dollars to doughnuts, that when we are finally told she has passed away she will have been dead for weeks or maybe months!
The commie libs have a knack for phony documents and extended “so called” life spans… without challenge from anyone… If you get my drift.

sunnydaysall

They would “have” written us off long ago… Sorry, my southern accent is showing… 🙂

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Keep seeing if she makes public appearances, and that would include appearing at the SCOTUS to hear arguments, etc.

Sylvia Avery

Well, the nodules were definitely cancer. They aren’t sharing with the public what state cancer, but if (as seems likely) these are cancer cells that have spread from somewhere else that is very grave.
Frankly, at 85 years old even if they aren’t spread from somewhere else in her body and it is just a new occurrence of lung cancer it is still a very grave condition.
I honestly don’t see how anyone can reasonably think she is going to be doing that job much longer.

Sue Mcdonald

I had my right lung removed except for a bit they left on the bottom. Im still foggy about the whole surgery but I can say this , it was a major ordeal and I was in the hospital for a good while learning to breathe operating on one lung. and this cancer was caught early, no chemo with this one thank you Lord! when I was going through the throat cancer they spotted the lung node on a pet scan and I had to wait 5 years for the lung surgery as the throat cancer was a brutal treatment. and the recovery has been quite long on the lung but I have learned to just keep on going. RBG is 85 and iam 60 if I had a heck of a time at my age I can say this its not better for her at all,the older we are the harder the recovery ect…. and I do not believe anything the media has to say about her health one way or the other as its nothing but lies lies lies. I would say her time here is quite short at this point no matter how many lungs are offered by the deranged idiots who adore her.

prairie123

Sue I pray your recover continues! Thank you for sharing your story. I don’t know how she could be still battling this one out, but who knows, maybe she had strong genes. My grandfather is 85 (or so) and he has lymphoma – the treatments knock him for a loop, but he’s hanging in there….

Sorry, this is a link to the always icky USA Today. However, it was interesting to me because it provided some detail as to ways PDJT could free up money to Build The Wall, and by no means does it involve having to take it from the military. If these USA Today people are correct (and I won’t bet the mortgage on that or anything) it would seem PDJT has some viable options that could take care of the funding issue readily.
So, again if this is true, what is that cagey fellow up to with all the shutdown drama? Heh, heh, heh. Perhaps he wants to show the world that the Dims are horses asses and perhaps he wants to pressure McConnell into eliminating the filibuster.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2018/12/24/donald-trump-shutdown-congress-approval-build-border-wall-spending-column/2402442002/

wheatietoo

I think we’ve learned from other ‘shutdowns’…that the President has the power of the purse during a shutdown.
The President can authorize “emergency funds” for whatever he deems necessary.
I didn’t click on the icky USA Today article, though.
Is that what they said?

Emeraldstar

You too, Wheatie!
Merry Christmas!

wheatietoo

Merry Christmas to you too, Emeraldstar!

Pat Frederick

then what was Schumer bloviating about when he said the President could not take funding away from anywhere else–all expenditures have to go thru Congress? is he stating normal conditions vs emergency conditions (shutdown)?

wheatietoo

Schumer is wrong about things…a lot.

NebraskaFilly

You said it: bloviating, i.e., lying. Technically and Constitutionally, funding authority is supposed to originate in the House. Of course, that didn’t stop them with OCARE! He is being very disingenuous.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Technically, bloviating doesn’t mean lying, it just means being a verbose windbag. Schumer is, however both a bloviator and a liar.
Sundance is merely a bloviator.

NebraskaFilly

Check – I knew that but was feeling a bit hyperbolic! LOL

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Heh. I always get a chuckle out of “hyperbolic” and “hyperbole” used to mean exaggeration, because I’ve studied orbital dynamics–and there a “hyperbolic” orbit (which actually draws a hyperbola in space) is one that’s an escape trajectory. Even when it’s “incoming” you know it’s going to go back out again and never return. I do wonder if there’s a etymological relationship.

Sylvia Avery

Here’s a few snips from the article. The author of the piece has written a book, The Conservative Case For Trump. I am super disgusted by John Thune’s remarks and the statement from Sonny Perdue’s chief of staff. Grrr…. What is WITH these people?
“…A week ago, the White House put out a call to federal agencies to look for “pots of money” in their existing budgets that could be cobbled together to pay for border wall construction. Immediately, Sen. John Thune, the Republican whip in the upper chamber, shot down the idea of shifting funds from executive departments to the border, saying, “I’m not a big fan of moving money.” Like it or not, there are sources of revenue in the executive branch that the president has authority to use without congressional approval…
The Department of Agriculture has about $200 billion in outstanding loans for rural development projects such as community buildings, bridges, roads, fire stations, police stations, water projects and barriers such as fencing and walls. These federal loans to local communities have low default rates that are attractive to private-sector investors because they represent large, reliable cash flows — the kind of investments that big money funds desperately desire.
About $50-100 billion worth currently held by USDA are very marketable and attractive commercial paper investments. The rights to collect the remainder of the debt on these loans could be sold to private parties who would pay a premium for such a steady stream of cash payments. The sales would give a profit cushion to the government and alleviate taxpayers from any future risk of nonpayment while retaining certain borrower guarantees.
For example, Trump could authorize the sale of $10 billion of USDA rural water loans on the secondary market, which could bring in a lump sum payment of $12 billion or more. Revenue from these proceeds could be directed to build the border wall.
Legal authority comes from many angles. Obama stimulus loans (approximately $2-$5 billion) could be separated out and used because they involved “no year” money, meaning the funds don’t expire if not spent in a certain time frame. The president could tap into USDA’s Community Facilities Programs money if recouped funds from the sale were used for new loans to cooperating communities on the border, such as in Texas…
Another option would be to utilize funds in the same way USDA undertakes in-kind swaps with private parties to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of commodities and services. This would entail swapping the proceeds of the commercial paper sales for the wall, with construction companies being the counterparties.
These are only a few creative funding avenues that could be explored, some less complicated than others. Such an aggressive approach is a sure way for Trump to regain the initiative and get the attention of lawmakers who have an interest in killing any threat to their control over spending, thus giving the president leverage in negotiations as pressure mounts to end the shutdown.
While the Constitution gives Congress power over the government’s purse strings, presidents of both parties have pushed the limits of their flexibility to use executive-branch funds free of congressional micromanagement. President George W. Bush was criticized for keeping billions in war spending off the books so it could be diverted to secret operations free from congressional oversight. Conservatives complained that President Barack Obama spent billions on health care without congressional authorization…
Opposition to the wall within Trump’s own administration has prevented progress on this issue, which is wildly popular with the GOP’s conservative base and is the consequence of the president surrounding himself with establishment advisers who have worked to thwart his populist agenda from within. For example, after being briefed on the concept of selling USDA commercial paper to pay for border security, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue’s then-Chief of Staff Heidi Green shot down the idea by curtly stating, “The secretary does not want the wall.”….”

Sylvia Avery

Here’s the summary paragraph of the article as well as the CV for the author so we can evaluate him as a source at least a little bit.
“…Minus an 11th-hour deal in the Senate, the only way a border wall will get built is if the president uses executive power to do it. He has the funds available and the authority to build the wall on his own. The only question is whether President Trump will finally start taking advice from those who actually support his goals rather than continuing to trust the internal obstructionists.”
About the authors:
Brett M. Decker, an assistant professor of business at Defiance College, is the best-selling co-author of “The Conservative Case for Trump” and a former editor of The Wall Street Journal. Follow him on Twitter @BrettMDecker. James Renne, a national-security attorney, was a Trump Transition official who led the USDA Infrastructure Team and served in the George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administrations.

Pat Frederick

thanks for this Sylvia!
POTUS does have avenues available to him—good to know!
and as for his cabinet members speaking out against the President’s agenda? if he asks for your opinion, feel free to give it–otherwise, shut up!

wheatietoo

“…Secretary Sonny Perdue’s then-Chief of Staff Heidi Green shot down the idea by curtly stating, “The secretary does not want the wall.”….”
______
Little Heidi Green should get the boot for that!
Grrr.

Sylvia Avery

She absolutely should. Even if it is true, she shouldn’t say something like that. And if it is true, then perhaps Sonny Perdue should get the boot, as well.
I’m totally over these idiots who won’t get on board the President’s agenda. I think it is perfectly fine for adults to disagree but for heaven’s sake WHY do all the President’s men feel compelled to disagree in public???? What ever happened to pulling together and showing a united front? Disagreements need to be kept behind closed doors.
Or is this just another area where I wake up and discover I am hopelessly old fashioned and no one behaves like that any more?

wheatietoo

No…it’s not old fashioned.
Spouting off that way is disloyal and just bad form.

NebraskaFilly

FROM A RANK NOVICE ON NATIONAL FINANCE: Just starting to read but I early-on had one question: how would this affect the rural property-owners directly? Would that not expose them to possible predatory lending (not sure if that is the correct terminology) by the secondary market, with fewer guarantees and benefits to the land-owner, as well as higher interest rates?
“For example, Trump could authorize the sale of $10 billion of USDA rural water loans on the secondary market, which could bring in a lump sum payment of $12 billion or more. Revenue from these proceeds could be directed to build the border wall.”

The giant Enceladus is having indigestion today, or so the ancient Greeks would have it were they around to see this.
Etna is always grumbling and outgassing; people in Catania at its base just shrug, it’s the weather to them.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Talking to someone else, they say the people in Catania would be more worried if Etna were NOT active…they figure the old kaboomberg is bottling it up and will blow.

daughnworks247

Husband took me to Sicily for my birthday and we rode to the top of Etna, well, maybe 7/8th’s of the way. It’s easy to see why the ancients thought it was the gateway to hell. Temp drops about 40 degrees, fog sets in, and you can’t see more than 15 feet. Lava chunks litter the sides of the roads and nothing is growing. It looks and feels eerie, like hell. Poor Persephone.

NYGuy54

that’s awesome..nice trip

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

The cableway goes up to 2500 meters, and the summit is 2920–or at least it was; who knows how high it is now? I’ve been up to the top of the cableway, but thought it was further from the summit.

daughnworks247

There’s a road too. We rented a cute lil’ Mercedes. I couldn’t wait to come down. Gave me the creeps.
I picked up all kinds of Lava to bring home (family tradition-grandpa used to bring rocks home from vacations) but the rocks were heavy, so I stuffed them in my carry-on, must have weighed 75+lbs.
Got to Fiumicino airport in Rome and the security guy had a fit about the rocks my suitcase. I thought I was going to be arrested for stealing minerals or something. No. He was convinced I could break an airplane window with a piece of lava. Really? I laughed. I don’t look like terrorist.
We also came home with little vials of snow/water from top of Mt Etna. Put the snow in a film container. Like you said, the base was probably 70 degrees.
Very weird place though. Did not like it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I brought a small rock home myself (I figured Etna will make more), but it was in checked luggage.

NebraskaFilly

Haven’t posted any funnies lately so I went looking for one with a Christmas theme. Found a revised version of “Twas the night before Christmas.”
T’was the night before Christmas, and all through D.C., not a creature was stirring, except Marion B.
The streets were abandoned, the drug dealers slept. But the mayor in his limo, through Southeast he crept.
A sliver spoon was hung from his neck with great care, in hopes that Charles Lewis soon would be there.
When, all at once, there arose such a clatter. He halted his limo to see what was the matter.
And what to his wandering eyes should appear? But a pile of white powder, a mountain of cheer.
He jumped from the limo, lickety-split. Five minutes later, the mayor was lit.
He snorted and shoveled that coke up his nose. His eyes were all bloodshot and glowed like a rose.
Back to the limo, he ran like a flash. “Now that that’s gone, let’s go home to MY stash!”
I heard him exclaim, with no hint of strife, “I’ll snort if I like, I’M MAYOR FOR LIFE!””

Pat Frederick

LOL never heard that one before

NebraskaFilly

I lived out there during that whole debacle. And then they put up a statue in honor of this douchebag!

Deplorable Patriot

With less than ten minutes to go before my self-imposed blackout for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (may make it back here after dinner), I do want to say Merry Christmas to all of you here. I’ll be honest, as a singer with three Masses in the next 24 hours including two solos and a lot of high notes, the family drama of being the calm one in a pack of hyper and strong personalities is draining. Entirely too much going on for me to really enjoy it. I’m ready for January 4!
However, I can’t leave my favorite musical time of the year, musically speaking, without sharing the oldest of the pieces in the standard Advent/Christmas repertoire. This recording is heavy on descant, and doesn’t flow quite like chant should, but it is a good reminder that we are connected to the past in this season by the music we make. Every time period since the fifth century is represented somewhere.
So, Merry Christmas and remember that for musicians, this is one of the busiest times of the year. If they forget to bring the frozen aquarium jello mold to dinner, forgive them.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Here’s hoping you have a Merry Christmas in spite of the stress that comes with it.
I’m guessing the piece was originally in Latin, since what the Angles and Saxons spoke in the 5th century would be utterly unrecognizable today as “English.”

Merry Christmas! I’m sure you’ll sing like a beautiful angel DP!

The Wall is different than the 25 Billion Dollars in Border Security. The complete Wall will be built with the Shutdown money plus funds already in hand. The reporting has been inaccurate on the point. The problem is, without the Wall, much of the rest of Dollars are wasted!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 24, 2018

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

The Wall is not the complete answer (which is what Mulvaney said all that time ago, when Wallace tried to trip him up), nor can there be an answer without the wall. In logician’s terms, it is necessary but not sufficient.

Pat Frederick

Saudi Arabia has now agreed to spend the necessary money needed to help rebuild Syria, instead of the United States. See? Isn’t it nice when immensely wealthy countries help rebuild their neighbors rather than a Great Country, the U.S., that is 5000 miles away. Thanks to Saudi A!

Seriously.

NebraskaFilly

This is long but, IMO, a worthy read. I am posting this in honor of all the outstanding, intelligent, and strong women here – honor and value yourselves (in a humble way, of course)!
THE ONE FLAW IN WOMEN
By the time the Lord made woman, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, “Why are you spending so much time on this one?” And the Lord answered, “Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable, and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart – and she will do everything with only two hands.”
The angel was astounded at the requirements. “Only two hands? No way! And that’s just on the standard model? That’s too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish.” “But I won’t,” the Lord protested. “I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days.” The angel moved closer and touched the woman. “But you have made her so soft, Lord.” “She is soft,” the Lord agreed, “but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.” “Will she be able to think?” asked the angel. The Lord replied, “Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate.”
The angel then noticed something and, reaching out, touched the woman’s cheek. “Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.” “That’s not a leak,” the Lord corrected. “What’s the tear for?” the angel asked. The Lord said, “The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride.” The angel was impressed. “You are a genius, Lord…..You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing.”
And she is! Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in, they stand up to injustice, and they don’t take “no” for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have, they go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding, their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love, they have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR OWN WORTH!

Pat Frederick

worth every second to read!

prairie123

It’s kind of a shame that the young men left; abandoned their mothers, sisters and wives to go live in safety… and now I wonder if they have the guts to go home and rebuild.. they should ask for forgiveness from the women they left behind… oh wait, women are just things to them and not an equal part of the culture. I presume it’s about Max Boot being called a hypocrite for his recent criticism of Trump’s order to pull out of Syria; Boot tried to claim the old headline was fake.
So…did it turn out to be fake or not? Or is this about something else completely?

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet,
The words repeat
Of peace on earth , good will to men!
And thought of how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
Till ringing, singing on it’s way,
The world evolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
Then from each black, accused mouth
The cannon thundered in the south,
And with the soundness of a continent,
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
It was if an earthquake rent
The stones of a continent,
And made forlorn
The households born
Of peace on earth good will to men!
And in despair I bowed my head;
There is no peace on earth ” I said’;
For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!
