I skimmed through. I think that’s what they have planned for us. At the end, “noncompliant resident” of the 15-minute city is spot on.
IMO, we could stop a lot of this in its tracks if we had a mechanism for getting people out of Congress who violate their oaths to uphold the Constitution. And incremental gun control measures like banning certain types of gun parts, ammo, or guns themselves all violate the oath.

So let’s say there’s a mechanism whereby I can accuse Congresscritter Schittwiezel of violating his oath of office.
Someone (either one person or a commission) has to look at that accusation and decide whether or not Schittwiezel has violated his oath, then rule that he has done so, and he’s out of office. It cannot be automatic, someone has to make a judgment.
What if the commissioner(s) don’t agree with my reading of the Constitution?
There’s probably a reason the Founders didn’t include this sort of thing in the Constitution (separation of powers would be my guess), but Congress can vote to expel its own members. Of course if they’re all corrupt that won’t work either.
You’re correct, and I don’t know what the solution is. I only know that we have, or have had, people running for office or holding office who have openly said they want to take our guns. There should be no question that they not only can’t run, but can’t hold office. It should be crystal clear. Instead, people are tearing away at the Constitution and our rights like a cat shredding paper. We can see it, and it is allowed, and they subvert our government and infringe upon our rights. We should not be having to constantly defend against laws that infringe upon the 2nd Amendment. We should not be in the position of having our rights gradually eroded away. We should not have to put up with people in positions of power who are openly against the Constitution.
The Founders basically said the government cannot be any better than the people in it.
And the electorate ultimately controls that. Or at least they did, long enough to get the current fraudsters in a position to commit fraud.
Your complaints are ultimately with your fellow citizens.

A Recall Petition would be nice. Nationally it would take an amendment, since it’s not in the Constitution. 2/3rds of the congress critters members can expel him. Unfortunately States are also prohibited from recalling a sitting member of Congress. The only solution seems to be they have to be Chenyied or Kingzinerd from office. Meanwhile states can still sanction members of congress but that only results in a verbal lashing and notice of zero confidence.
Interim solutions would be a tie them to a pole and run them out of office.

Some sort of recall method would be good. I’d not want it to be state legislatures though, because I can just imagine a dem legislature recalling all of the Republicans from that state (expecting Rs to refuse to do the reverse). [NB On the other hand if the 17th is repealed a state legislature should, with a supermajority vote, be able to recall the senators it chose.]
Another thought I had once…which would absolutely never fly because it breaks federalism in a big way, is that seven days before election day, every congressional district gets assigned to them a representative from some other district, in another state. They not only get to vote for their own representative, they can ALSO decide whether that other one is allowed to remain in office.
That would allow some asshole rep who gets reelected routinely by his own district but is despised by the rest of the country, to be kicked out.
The reason I want the assignment of the veto vote over someone else’s congresspuke to be so close to election day is so that the congresspuke doesn’t have time to campaign and buy votes from a district he’d otherwise shit on.
Like I said that would NEVER fly, and probably rightly so but it’s fun to think about seeing Adam Schiff’s name on ballots in some very Red district…

They do it surreptitiously and we have to be on the alert to discredit it. You can’t just agree with everything people on your side say; you have to question and use critical thinking.

IMO, those theories discredit us and prevent sober-minded, logical people from joining us. And it appears to be easier to hold on to flawed theories than to acknowledge the error and move on.

Sure, but there’s no way to stop the enemy from infiltrating. So by all means, point out error where error is found, whatever the source.
But the enemy can’t plant seeds of error about anything important (e.g., abortion, 2nd Amendment, opposition to sexual perversion, etc.), because those ‘seeds’ get attacked and exposed and rooted out immediately.
So the enemy will waste their time planting seeds about small stuff. Why should we sweat the small stuff, when they’ve got whole herds of elephants so big they won’t even fit in a room?

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Paul Revere statue, Boston, Massachusetts
My Revolutionary war ancestor, Orringh Stoddard, signed up on April 19, 1775 to fight out of Stockbridge, Mass (home of Norman Rockwell). It’s possible that his bounty land after service was what moved our forbears into New York after the prior generations had lived in Connecticut, founding Wethersfield & Litchfield along the way after having arrived in Watertown, MA about 1640.
Orringh, Captain at the time, has one of his letters preserved in George Washington’s papers here:

He would have been about 18 years old.
I don’t know if you have access to it, but there is a big file on him in the U.S. Revolutionary War Pensions and Bounty Land Applications at Ancestry.
In the file, it states he was at the Battle of Monmouth, and the Battle of White Plains. The document was signed by Orringh himself, so he was literate enough to write his name. Not everybody back then was.
There is a document in the file wherein his children claimed the land he was awarded for his service, in Broome County, New York.
It’s a nice, fat file, full of information. I hope you have it.

The family was in Broome County, NY for a while, though my direct ancestors left for the frontier of Michigan once the Erie Canal opened up, I believe. There may still be descendants of Orringh in Broome County today 🙂
I think Orringh was later a General, became a judge, & was perhaps a postmaster in Broome County at some point. He also was involved in treating with the Indians over a large land purchase in the region, iirc…

This was bound to happen. We were glad to take the House, and some members of the House are doing their jobs and uncovering the corruption. Congress’s powers are limited because they aren’t a law enforcement body. I’m very glad they are doing investigations that yield some real evidence.

I’m not sure what people are expecting at this point. As I replied to mollypitcher, we elected these people to do these investigations, and they are doing them. We are just at the beginning.
I have very low expectations of any of the big-wigs being prosecuted. That said, the MAGA Repubs are doing their jobs right now, and I’m grateful to them. There will be consequences even if they do not involve trials and prison. The alternative is that we could have a Dem House as well as Senate and none of this would ever be known.

Casey Gant has been in education for 30 years. At the beginning of those 30 years, we had standards of decency that are much higher than today, and no doubt he abided by them. Yet, 30 years later, he allows this abomination. So obviously he is not someone who had strong principles to begin with, even though he appeared to be so in the beginning. It is alarming to see how many people fall into that category. It is similar with Constitutional principles. You either stand on principle, or you will compromise when given the opportunity. So many people will fold and be led into bad decisions and actions.

I do not know your perspective on matters of religious faith so I will not assume yours are like mine. Core values are often linked to faith traditions and religious influences. There has certainly been a more relative view of certain virtues that has led to less certainty and less homogeneity in common cultural norms. With the explosion of uncensored information and general lack of civility in the public square it was only a matter of a generation or two until the same general behavior invaded the home life of the core social structure, the family. We cannot escape an iron principle of reality: bad influences will degrade virtue and destroy the balance of acceptable civil behavior. When you add the widespread chemical abuses that have accelerated over the last decades this result is what one would expect, especially in the absence of strong civil leadership.
Core values to me are what I thought were human innate values. Right and wrong. Children are the future in any society. Teaching them respect for themselves and others should be concrete.
Widespread murder of the unborn citing frivolous reasons seems insane.
