raccoons come on our deck…they poop on the deck, on the cushions on the chairs, they make a mess. so we have a trap. when hubby catches one, he does not release it–it will just come back. they can be vicious and destructive. he dispatches them, cleans the trap and sets it up again.
The way I look at it, he’s killing raccoon roundworms by the bag-full.
Their poop is like snake venom. Do what needs to be done.
It is sad because they look so cute. I wonder if roundworms are a problem with pet coons since they don’t go outside very much and they don’t hang out with wild ones.

She never made stupid mistakes of telling the girl’s exactly what to do in any criminal way, but she acted as a classic facilitator. I think she helped to excite the girls about the “modeling lifestyle” in a kind of bait-and-switch scam.
Her presence and apparent assent to Epstein’s promises gave them an aura of believability. One of the better witnesses was a real aspiring model who was more legit than most of the dumb jailbait with modeling dreams that he typically preyed on. I think Ghislaine messed up there – she should have filtered out a true aspiring pro model, if her job was protecting Epstein. That woman’s testimony was devastating, IMO, because she spotted the sketchy stuff quickly and remembered everything in her non-drug-addled mind. It came off as “I was there to look for modeling work, and this guy wanted me to touch his dick.” Part of the problem is that she was foreign, but Ghislaine got lazy, and treated her like a typical American young slut. International cultural error.
Epstein’s smooth talk (per testimony) was just classic – and sounds exactly like what jailbait boys tell jailbait girls when trying to “get some” and then walk away. He was as bad as any of my worst friends and acquaintances – the only difference being he was no longer jailbait himself.

“This place will not move,” late butter Tony Senecal said in 2005. “That’s why, during a hurricane, you’ll always see me here. If it goes, I’ll go with it.”
The historic club has been hit with relatively minor damage from hurricanes in recent years, including a torn up roof from Hurricane Irma in September 2017.
It has also suffered uprooted trees and broken windows as nearby streets were flooded.

I am surprised that the EPA hasn’t gone after our favorite president for tampering with the coral. In Australia you cannot mess with the coral reefs. If coral is on the endangered species list, then I am shocked the enemy has not used it against Trump.

Highest wind gusts here at the Village so far were 31 mph last night. So far, no power outage. I did worry that if we had Tropical Storm force winds, it would topple the trees that were left leaning over roads and buildings by the last hurricane – Helene.
After having 3 hurricanes pass through here since August 2023, with trees down, power out for days, the staff and residents were tired and weary of the storm season process. Sally and I certainly were!
I’m staying over until Monday to drive Sally and her Dad to medical appointments in the city.

Coming on the heels of a massive deli meat recall due to a listeria outbreak, a new warning has been issued as a major meat processor is recalling almost 10 million pounds of its product.
BrucePac is recalling 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products over fears of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service warned.

Maybe because, even apart from the jab, it’s crucial to check side effects of many drugs. The antibiotic Levaquin, for example, is known to cause lasting damage to tendons. It was from the first dose to maybe a 10-day course of it. Some were saying it should be removed from the market. Maybe public trust is waning because it’s difficult to find an OTC remedy that isn’t full of food dyes, artificial sweeteners, and unnecessary chemicals. If I don’t want those things in my food, why would I want them in my medications?

Yes – side effects are a big deal. BTW, the problems of Levaquin (levofloxacin) extend to the entire “floxacin” class of drugs, including the very popular antibiotic cipro (ciprofloxacin). If you’re ever given any of them, read the side effects and stop taking at the moment you notice any of them beginning.
Of course, tell your doctor, but stop taking and immediately tell the doctor.

I don’t go to the Dr very often but my daughter and the kids do (especially now with her and the middle grand having had a jab)..but she hates going now for herself or the kids. They rarely see their genuine doctor, always a new face. They never take her seriously as if she’d be there on a whim and unfortunately their visits actually cost $$ since they’re not illegals or on welfare. She doesn’t trust the whole dr visit anymore. She and I usually brainstorm home remedies & supplements now before she makes an appt.

My property needs to get surveyed again so closing will take a week or two more. I’m an oldie now, so don’t mind the extra time for nap, pack, nap.
The history of my mountain home is amusing [to me]. Long ago, my land was divided into tiny lots to be sold to people who wanted to camp on the mountain. The county has been slowly pulling those tiny lots into larger lots. I was told that my three lots would be combined into one when I sold, and I’m glad I mentioned that to the buyer/realtor before that came up.
When I bought the land and on the GIS, there were three lots and that’s always been what I paid taxes on. Recently, I checked GIS and saw there are more lots associated with me, but not indicating I pay extra for them. I do not think there were 34 more lots shown online. I think the county may have introduced the confusion by updating their online system. Perhaps DEI hires?
A new lender is now involved and on my third lot, I learned today that it is still 34 tiny lots and had been planned to be merged but that did not happen. So the new lender wants a survey to happen again. The previous owner had a survey done and now, the buyer will have that done so at least I don’t have to pay for it.
Mountain property is its own kind of adventure.😂 😂 😂
