In other words, to be specific, they are buying control over politicians, political parties, television networks, cable networks, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, wire services, motion picture studios, universities, labor unions, church organizations, trade associations, tax-exempt foundations, multi-national corporations, boy scouts, girl scouts, you name it. Make your own list of organizations and you will find that this is where those people have been for many decades spending this river of wealth to acquire operational control particularly over those institutions and individuals, those organizations that represent opposition to themselves. That’s a critical area for expenditure on their part.
This process has gone on not only to a marked degree in America and in the other industrialized nations of the world, but it has gone on in the so-called third world or underdeveloped nations to such a degree that I would say the process is now complete. They own these countries already. Have you ever wondered what’s going on there at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank? Kind of an obscure operation isn’t it? you don’t read much about it except once in a while on the back page of the newspaper you find out that Congress at the insistence of the President authorized another $100 billion for the International Monetary Fund. And then the article tells you that this money will be used to make loans to underdeveloped nations or grants to them to raise their standard of living. Do you believe that?… If the money is to be used to raise the standard of living of these countries they’re not doing a very good job of it because after all of these decades, after all of these hundreds of billions of dollars, you cannot point to one country that has had its standard of living raised one iota by that. In fact in most cases it’s the other way around and that’s not an accident because the money has not been used to raise the standard of living. The money does not go to the people in those countries. It goes to the politicians of those countries, to their governments and the money is designed and spent to strengthen their power structures, their ability to control their populations. They usually start off as inefficient dictatorships but by the time they get all this money from the IMF, they are now efficient dictatorships. They have a well-equipped army, a better bureaucracy, total control of their subjects. That’s where the money’s being spent…

Back when the Trans-Pacific Partnership was in the news I wasn’t even aware of NGOs. It’s not surprising to see a connection because they seem to have their hands in everything.
I agree and that is why we trust PDT and the patriots. They know. The governmental use of NGO’s have become a complete circumvention of the intent of governing documents and laws.
More than most will want to know below, but related to the topic of the thread.
An example of how sneaky the fight can be, in a less obvious way that is of major concern are state approved/funded school choice vouchers/scholarships. First off, I despise much of what the public school systems have become. Most on here know we already homeschool one grandchild with a plan to do all three of them. So what I say next is not to be construed as being in support of public schools.
At first blush school choice vouchers appear to be a great thing for families that need the financial assistance to improve their child’s education. The state funds and sets the rules. The families apply and are accepted for funding for little Johnny or Jane to choose a private school to attend. The private school accepts the funds and are bound by the state’s rules. Their enrollment and the funds available goes up. They become somewhat dependent on the revenue stream as they add staff, materials and facilities for increased enrollment.
Assume that politics and voter choices change government leaders. They “add” or “modify” the rules to force both the families/students as well as the schools to do or accept what may have been unacceptable in the beginning. There may be budget shortfalls and reduced funding at some point. Both are then forced with difficult decisions. The families/students may choose to continue if the funding is still available since the child is only in school for a limited time. However, they will face indoctrination challenges that they escaped previously when they left public schools. The private school may have become dependent upon the revenues and even face closure if they do not comply or if the funding level is reduced by the state.
We have said program in TN called EdChoice. At this point it is an honorable program defanged of indoctrination attempts. It is increasing private school enrollment significantly. The initial funding was enough for 20 K students and the applications so far have been double the number allocated. Like most states, legislators have the data to prove that private and home schooling improve the education results of our youth significantly over public schools.
As long as the state remains controlled by patriots it will be fine, but what happens if that changes? The schools that are accepting the funds have strongly weighed the pros and cons and will fight any associated changes to the rules/laws. However, they are at risk as are the families/students. Most have decided the risk is worth it at this point.
That is somewhat how things may appear innocuous at first and can then break bad over time with regards to NGO’s. A good purpose in appearance in the beginning may be exploited down the line by the black hats. It also may have just been the cover for seeding of bad intent that rears its ugly head down the line.
Our nation has been seeded with them for over a century as we are learning. Identifying and cutting off the funding sources like USAID is how they are terminated. Which explains some of Elon’s frustration IMO. It may have been born more by his lack of understanding of how the rules, procedures, and practices of Congress work.
How would Congress be able to be sell themselves as the arbiters of truth and good things “for the American people” as they so desperately want to appear in order to continue their graft, if they did not maintain their power through their self devised system of control that also circumvents the intent of the Constitution and laws? They use NGO’s once the rules, procedures, and practices clear the decks of opposition as one of their methods and vehicles. The federal budget allocations or lack of one is another tool they use.
YUP, Congress critters LOVE NGOs. Several years ago Hubby and I went to the office of our senator. The first thing we were asked was “WHAT GROUP DO YOU REPRESENT?” Hubby, an Objectivist came back with ‘The individual’ The guy did not know how to handle that answer.

There will be a dozen years to prove that up.
PDT liked Marco even back in 2015 and 2016. Marco did not like PDT much because he bested him easily in the campaigns and debates since Marco had uniparty baggage.
During the coming 12 years, many talented leaders within the GOP will develop such as Vivek that will be younger contemporaries of the above. A dynasty of America First leaders could develop if they keep their eyes of the prize and retain the support of We the People.

What is happening is that you are logging in as a guest, not a site member. Only when you see your “animal status” (probably “coyote” or “wolverine”) are you fully logged in here.
We got rid of the JetPack plugin, which allows you to log into WP.com which then logs you in here. I just sent you a password reset by email, so that you can log in here using the login link at the bottom of the sidebar.
Important point to remember is that guest login is not the same as normal site login, both of which are not the same as “log in with WordPress” which is what JetPack provided (at the cost of letting WP.com basically control who could get on the site). We cut out the middleman.
Note that all the sister blogs are forced to use JetPack and Akismet (also used by WP.com to control who can post on the site) for their “free” blogs.

last fall we started noticing “Spanish” families shopping at the local walmart. younger families–but never speaking any English to anyone. we shop on a Wednesday evening normally and they were always there at that time. then around Christmas, they disappeared. haven’t seen any of them since.
the walmart is in a college town and we’ve seen host families shopping with foreign students many times.
last week we saw a muslim family. that was highly unusual.

True enough. An earlier example mentioned was that Grok would not go into large repositories of Information like the Internet Archive claiming it’s a password protected site. Yet getting the password is free. This may be a self imposed restriction by Grok or also very likely the internet archive does not allow bots on it’s site. Likely the latter. The keepers of knowledge have always kept a close hold on the knowledge they gather.

Having the first half of the year stagger to a close, this is something of a stressful time for me. Of course, the Fiancee’s landscaping spat hasn’t helped.
I don’t know if I completely summarized the latter, but the dealio is that we have plants that go nuts in the spring, then go into glorious attractive, fragrant blossoms while overhanging the sidewalk. For the almost 30 years we’ve lived here, we’ve waited for the blooms to finish and cut everything back. On one side of our property, the plants are vines along a fence — passionflower, purple trumpet flower, Carolina jessamine, hardenbergia, and wisteria (the oldest — we planted it soon after moving here).
Incidentally, nurseries commonly carry two types of wisteria — Chinese and Japanese — one type flowers before it sprouts a bunch of leaves, and the other sprouts a bunch of leaves before it flowers. I can’t remember offhand which one is which, but we have one of each. Currently we’re on the second batch of flowers.
Anyway, one of our neighbors decided that they didn’t want to wait for us to trim and actually brought loppers over to chop the wisteria. The Fiancee caught them in the act of cutting a trunk vine about 2″ across (likely about 15 years old) that was clearly on our property. Like many plants, light-starved wisteria vines die back, so it was clear that we had regularly trimmed the plant back to where this trunk could get sunshine.
When The Fiancee confronted her, she said that it was public property and we should have no say over it. Mind you, if she were to take her loppers over to the park (which really is public property) and start lopping off 15-year-old branches, that would be vandalism….The Fiancee rather heatedly asserted that the vines that we had planted decades ago were actually ours.
So she reported us to code enforcement, and we got a letter to clear all the spring growth back to the edge of the sidewalk in 30 days or face $750 fines. Mind you, we have historically cleared it back after all the flowers were gone each year anyway.
So The Fiancee and I trimmed it back early and in a rush. Three weeks, 16 96-gallon greenwaste containers (our neighbors pool them with us. We’re all allocated two per week). Bunch of Advil. Then we had the code enforcement person come out and give us a signoff, which happened Monday afternoon. The inside still looks like flowers and smells nice in the evening air; the outside looks like a bunch of sticks. We’ve got an asshole neighbor halfway down the block, and the city is acting like an HOA.
This pushed back one of my June calendar items — renewing my NC CPA. It’s due June 30, and is amazingly easy compared to the circle jerk that is my CA renewal, so I was doing it around Monday midnight, and it jammed at the point where I pay the $60 and I’m done for the year.
I tried it with a couple of cards, and called Wells Fargo to see if I could unjam it from the bank’s side, and resolved to call NC on Tuesday. When I called on Tuesday, I was forwarded to a voicemail. I tried a couple of cards and a couple of browsers and called back in about an hour. Instead of starting with “renewal”, I chatted with the admin at the main number for a bit and found out that their system was busted — everyone was getting jammed at the payment page — and it would probably be fixed late Wednesday.
I didn’t ask if they were running WordPiss. Probably should have.
When the original renewal person eventually called me back, I thanked her profusely and expressed my sympathy for their circumstances.
When I was quite young, I found that people tended to confide in me. I have no idea why, and I don’t know of anything special that I did to encourage this.
When I got into accounting, people would tell me all sorts of things about business and books. I would ask, and be understanding, and I’d learn all sorts of things.
When I started auditing, I would follow a written plan to find out if XXX was really YYY, and people would talk to me amazingly freely.
And then, I was dealing with business objectives and bureaucracies, and I knew who to talk with and when…..and it’s frequently the Admins…..

During my stint as an freelance advisor to people going through divorce without an attorney, a big part of what I did was teach how to navigate the courthouse and tell who was who and what they did.
I’d tell people to always be polite and find a deputy court clerk if they didn’t know how to do something. I told them deputy court clerks are the ones that make the system function. I taught everyone [if they needed to know something] to find one and say, “Hi. I was told that you were one of the few people here that knows how to do everything. Can you please help me do ______?”
You’d be amazed at how easily the info flowed, usually a lot more than what was initially sought but quite useful nonetheless. The lower rungs of the bureaucracy ladder are occupied by people who do critical work that is rarely appreciated.
People have always told me things I did NOT want to know. Sometimes really bad things.

I spent much of my youth with two mimosa trees in our front yard. I was completely fascinated that its leaves closed up at night.

I called back this afternoon and straight-out asked, “did you get the system back up yet?” I was told that about 500 had gone through, but people were still having problems (and they didn’t know why). Being that my NC CPA number is around 40,000 and I haven’t been a CPA in NC for that long, I commented, “hmmm…..500…..and only about another 50-60,000 to go…..”
So she was very nice and gave me an alternate payment method, which I promptly filled-out and sent in. At 500 successes per day and the deadline on Monday, they’re in the middle of a ginormous train wreck. Even if they fix it tomorrow, they’re going to be slammed with excess capacity problems.
I hate to see this happen to them. They’re such nice people there.

“The psalmist prays for mercy, humbly confessing and lamenting his sins. (1-6) He pleads for pardon, that he may promote the glory of God and the conversion of sinners. (7-15) God is pleased with a contrite heart, A prayer for the prosperity of Zion.” (16-19)
(7-15) “Purge me with hyssop, with the blood of Christ applied to my soul by a lively faith, as the water of purification was sprinkled with a bunch of hyssop. Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

The first one reminds me of another anecdote regarding medical advice. A doctor is out clubbing and he runs into an older patient with a zaftig female on his arm. The music is playing and the drinks are flowing, but he grabs his patient’s arm and hauls him off to a quiet corner.
The doctor begins with “just what the hell do you think you’re doing?” The patient seems startled and replies that he is following the doctor’s advice. Shocked, the doctor asks, “what advice?”

Quite long though and the 5 second jump ahead will be your friend. Thinks I stopped at the Finance Minister claiming it’s ethically morale to starve the Palestinian’s to death and that appears to be the unspoken policy of the government there. Something you could see mixed in with all the reporting on the 12 day war as numerous stories kept popping up of Israel killing people who show up at food distribution centers with no attempt to sort the wheat from the chaff. It seems as if Israel is far exceeding the Old Testament rules of an eye of an eye in their quest for power and there is no attempt to discriminate the good from the bad. We normally call that genocide. Indeed it seems their bombing campaign actually picked up during the course of the 12 day war as less were paying attention. But it’s Israel and I guess they get a pass, which seems to be the point of the video. Will have to finish it later. 2 plus hours is a bit much but it does give a good view of the power politics in Israel, the make up of the Bibi’s cabinet and some insight on the people in it that most would shake their head at.
I watched it in bits and pieces. Israel certainly has a Deep State problem too. It is very important to separate the people from bad leaders.

Gaetz Mom is correct. POTUS Trump has other information. ALSO it seems according to some the bombing was coordinated with Iran (via Pakistan military leader) so no one was hurt. If that is true, it is the perfect way to SHUT DOWN THE WAR, before it escalates to WWIII possibly with nukes.
Remember Israel had a limited supply of ‘Iron Dome’ missiles and could not outlast Iran. Therefore they might resort to a nuke.
BTW, last night I saw a clip where Trump said Iran called him and told him they would be attacking a US base but would not hit the base. This was a necessity in order to save face.

I’m forcibly struck by this. I know that Trump has other information, but Gaetz either doesn’t know that or appears egotistical enough to think he knows better, regardless?
IMO Gaetz’s judgment is seriously called into question for that reason, and
• for not trusting Trump to a higher degree after seeing him in action for a decade,
• for not having better situational awareness (as Kalbo pointed out) and letting someone see his phone (as a public figure and former congressman he should know that people are watching him),
• for not listening to his mother’s wisdom (not just because of their relationship but because she was speaking truth), and
• strikingly, for not seeming to appreciate her point that Trump has been a very good friend to him.
Gaetz comes across as another power-hungry, unappreciative know-it-all. That’s a harsh assessment to make from one series of text messages, and there is probably more to Gaetz’s point of view, so I will give him a little slack. But this doesn’t look good and he has lost my trust. If he has presidential ambitions, I wouldn’t support him unless he became the Republican nominee and was the only choice.
It is possible that Gaetz remembers all the backstabbers in Trump 45. Bad advice leads to bad decisions. Gaetz is a politician, so he is probably aware of how policy decisions are made. I don’t see any nefarious intent in Gaetz’s messages. Proverbs, in several places, mentions the value of a multitude of counselors.
Of course, there is another, more modern proverb: Too much data leads to analysis paralysis. I guess you can choose which one suits your opinion about Gaetz.
I agree about having counselors. I think Trump has many: his cabinet, his military advisers, some in Congress, world leaders, etc. I do see a negative in someone saying this:

IMO that goes beyond merely offering counsel and extends into the area of control and shaping policy. There would be no need to “know how to” offer counsel; you just talk. But guiding, if you have to “know how to do it,” could even be viewed as manipulating.
I think Gaetz is probably on board with MAGA and I wish him well. I hope he will learn from this as well as from the recent mission in Iran. If I were in his shoes, I would be mortified that Trump can see what was said. But I know Trump will take it in stride.
I believe Trump is shrewd as well as intelligent, but it is beyond reasonable doubt that he was ambushed many times during his first term. He had all these counselors you mention during his first term, but they were not, in too many cases, wise counselors. I can agree that different people, different results, is a reasonable assertion, but results are the true measure. In fact, as we have learned to our dismay, in the first term they were, all too often, intent on weakening the President. Now I have no idea if Gaetz would be a good counselor, but, as I said earlier, I don’t see anything in his conversation with his mother that should indict him as being duplicitous. I am not personally informed as to whether Gaetz explained his reason for backing out of the nomination for AG, but it shouldn’t necessarily leave him under a cloud of suspicion.
I don’t know about you, but I would not trust someone giving me counsel who said they knew how to guide me. Provide me with information, yes. Steer me in a certain direction because they “know how to do it,” no, that’s not the kind of counsel I want.
I presume I am like many people who evaluate from whom the advice is given. However, I will make this point, Trump must have respected him enough to nominate him for the AG, a core member of the Cabinet.
I have no doubt that Trump respected him and thought he would make a good AG. Trump probably still respects him, for all I know. It’s possible that almost every person in Trump’s orbit (and every president’s orbit) is trying to shape the president’s policy decisions and that for Trump that is nothing new. It is just jarring for me to see someone admit that is what they are doing and that they know how to do it.
IMO, if you are a supporter of someone, it’s not because you think everything they do will be perfect, and it’s not because you agree with every decision they make. But being a supporter does involve having the respect to provide counsel when it is welcomed without placing yourself in control of decisions. What Gaetz said smacked of manipulating Trump’s thinking without the mutual openness and respect that I refer to. Maybe he didn’t mean it in exactly that way, but since it was a candid conversation with his mother that he thought no one would see, I imagine he was expressing his true perspective.
Even his mom was encouraging the caution that I’m talking about, and still Gaetz pushed back.

My understanding was that the exchange with Mother was text only. The person had to be literally looking over Gaetz’s shoulder. I would declare that to be a privacy violation regardless of whether the exchange occurred in a public setting.

They place the witness on trial instead of doing whatever oversight the hearing is supposed to be about. I see on that video that this one was about “Pres. Trump’s 2026 Justice Dept. Budget Request.” Who could tell? I think there should be reform regarding sticking to the subject in such hearings.

By then, he may (he should) be on Mount Rushmore. Many things will be named for him. His life will be known the same way people know George Washington’s or Abraham Lincoln’s. The world will be different because he was here. And I get to see it all in real time, not in a book or on film. I’ve watched Trump in person more than once, even at Mount Rushmore!
Just thinking about this gives me a feeling that I don’t have words to describe. I just know I feel it, and am so happy to feel this way. “Consequential” is the closest word I have. It is an amazing time to be alive!
