I want to add something, though. After watching Vivek’s AMFEST speech (which I think was all about winning OHIO, now full of legal immigrants), I realized something powerful.
Watch the first 7 minutes, at least. Vivek very intentionally brings up the uncomfortable stuff. He sets it up, because he wants to make a point which wins Ohio and keeps all Americans – both “heritage Americans” and “new Americans” voting for MAGA.
In part, by showing us how toxic that division really is.

Some think the Biden administration downplayed the number to make the crisis look manageable while quietly flooding the country. Others suspect even Team Trump keeps the real figure soft because if Americans truly understood the scale of what’s happened, they’d lose their collective minds. Either way, very few people believe the real number is anywhere close to what we’ve been told.
Just imagine how much more money this country would have if we didn’t have the burden of illegal aliens mooching off our system and using up all of our resources.

Lynch is calling it what he believes it is: a flat-out lie. He lays out why he thinks the real figure is closer to a whopping 44 million. He also makes the case that even though Trump’s deported millions, the problem still feels huge.
What makes Lynch’s argument resonate with so many Americans isn’t just the math. It’s the feeling people have when they look around and realize the problem still feels so incredibly big. If millions upon millions of people were actually being removed, you’d expect to feel it a lot more. Sure, there have been some small improvements, but most Americans are still feeling the crushing pressure from the illegal influx.
And that’s where the suspicion grows. If the number really were as low as we’re told, this problem wouldn’t feel so permanent or so overwhelming right now, especially, thanks to President Trump’s efforts.
There’s also the part no one in the Swamp likes to say out loud. Tens of millions of people living here illegally, plus their future children, represent a massive new political voting bloc. At some point, you have to ask if any sane country would let this happen by accident or out of the “kindness” of their heart. This goes way beyond border chaos… it’s about power at the ballot box.
What Lynch is arguing for is really straightforward. He says Trump’s only option is mandatory E-Verify, and not the absurd half-enforced version we’ve been putzing around with for years. If employers are required to verify work eligibility and face real consequences for ignoring it, the jobs dry up, and the people stay home or leave.
Either way, we win.
If the real number is anywhere near what Lynch is suggesting, then everything about this debate changes. The scale changes, and the urgency changes.
The stakes likely just got a lot higher.

I find it important to understand how “radical” the founders were, by overlooking specific European nationality and religion in immigration. Further, and stated pseudo-scientifically, Christianity is (IMO) largely based on the idea that intelligent restraint from full, deserved, equivalent response, at a certain optimal level, down-regulates evil. I agree with that principle, and think it’s smart.
Perhaps we have very different ideas about Christian doctrine.

Bringing Christmas presents to dindus and their kin isn’t exactly safe – and yet it’s a powerful experience of faith. We were asked not to bring weapons (we could have bailed – that was an option for those who didn’t want to take the admitted risks).
The dindus were all races – whites, blacks, assorted hispanics, and even American Indians. Maybe some Asians, too, but it’s hard to remember them all.
It is sobering to bring crappy presents to people who in many cases own next to nothing, living in bleak, cold, empty apartments, often just out on parole – or waiting for somebody else to be paroled.
That’s what this cartoon reminds me of.
Some of the people are innocent or unlucky (usually relatives) – many others are not, and only some of those won’t turn back to crime. All are barely scraping by, at the edge of society. Many are mentally ill, extremely ungrateful, or just plain angry.
They need love, but IMO many need some very tough love. I feel like the experience helped me to reach a balanced discernment on dealing with dindus.

Exhortation to brotherly love. (1,2) Cautions against several sins. (3-14) Directions to a contrary behaviour, and to relative duties. (15-21) The duties of wives and husbands are enforced by the spiritual relation between Christ and the church. (22-33)
(15-21) Another remedy against sin, is care, or caution, it being impossible else to maintain purity of heart and life. Time is a talent given us by God, and it is misspent and lost when not employed according to his design. If we have lost our time heretofore, we must double our diligence for the future. Of that time which thousands on a dying bed would gladly redeem at the price of the whole world, how little do men think, and to what trifles they daily sacrifice it! People are very apt to complain of bad times; it were well if that stirred them more to redeem time. Be not unwise. Ignorance of our duty, and neglect of our souls, show the greatest folly. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Me. GiGi, I have been taking Ivermectin every Saturday for nearly five years. Occasionally, two or three times a week, if I feel “off”. GiGi, nothing short of an astonished look.

Days before Christmas. DW invited three families (relatives) to join the normal gaggle. We gave the parents 1,000 pesos (~$18) for each child. Purchase toys, clothes, whatever, the parents chose. Wrap and put under the tree. To the child, from the parents. NOT DW and myself.
All three sets of parents chose to only purchase clothes, flip flops… NO toys. (Common sense…purchase what IS needed.)
Seven kids in all, ecstatic opening the gifts. Come to find out, one family with four kids. The kids had never received a Christmas present. They are, really, really that poor.
After learning they would not receive any toys. Slow Guy picked up balls, jump ropes, bubbles and simple stuff to play with, after they unwrapped their gifts.
Bottom line. Every visit to the Philippine, reinforces how truly fortunate DW and I are.
And the rest of us in the USA.
When I was in my 20s I spent a month caving in Mexico. This was the REAL Mexico as in a couple days with back packs & donkeys traveling into the mountains.
They were mostly incredibly nice people and very, very poor. That trip is one of the reasons I get so angry about what NAFTA did to those people!

It turns out that 2-Cat Karen was correct. She followed all their bullshit and got another carrier, and another seat to go with it, but then she got a refund when it was over, because the policy was actually in her favor.
The problem is, you have to be like a pastor and a lawyer at the same time to correct airline or similar bureaucratic personnel on any policy they’re not super-familiar with, that you ARE familiar with. It’s a pain. It pays to be really, really nice, very calm, be willing to pay the extra, and “let them discover it” by leading them to it. One time I actually paid the extra money to go along with the error, and had them check afterwards, at which point they did a refund. But everybody was happy.
