Hidden Things
In Matthew 11:25–30, Jesus Christ invites the faithful but weary remnant of believers—those who have come to the end of themselves, worn out, and burdened amid a faithless generation—to come to Him and find rest. He begins by giving thanks to His heavenly Father, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children” (Matthew 11:25). He then praises God for hiding certain truths “from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike” (Matthew 11:25, NLT).
This passage reveals that, through His infinite wisdom and grace, God exercises discretion in determining who will receive revelation of the truth and who will not. The “wise and learned” are those who have intellectual ability, abundant knowledge, and human wisdom, but lack humility and openness of heart. Jesus was speaking about the religious leaders of Israel who considered themselves intellectually superior. They were too proud to come to Jesus, to trust in Him and find rest.
The Bible says that God “in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom,” so He used “foolish preaching to save those who believe” (1 Corinthians 1:21, NLT). God chooses to reveal spiritual truth to those who are humble and dependent on Him, rather than those who rely solely on their own knowledge or status.
These “things” that are “hidden” according to Matthew 11:25 concern the kingdom of God as clarified through Jesus’ actions and teachings. They are revealed only to His followers who, like little children, embody meekness, humility, and spiritual neediness. When the disciples asked Jesus why He spoke to them in parables, Jesus explained, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not” (Matthew 13:11, NLT).
These hidden things include Jesus’ authority and identity as Savior and Son of God. The apostle Paul wrote extensively about the mysterious and hidden things of God, which are understood only by true believers: “No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord … But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets” (1 Corinthians 2:7–10, NLT; see also Romans 16:25–26; Colossians 2:2–3; Ephesians 3:3–6; 1 Timothy 3:16).
God hides the secret mysteries of His kingdom from those who resist the truth. To the proud, His truth is foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18–31). Paul explained that the gospel message “is hidden behind a veil … from people who are perishing. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God” (2 Corinthians 4:3–4, NLT). Without humble dependence and childlike trust in the Lord, no one can see and understand God’s ways (Matthew 18:3–4; 1 Corinthians 2:14; James 4:6; Romans 11:33–34).
Kingdom seekers are those with “ears to hear,” “eyes to see,” and “hearts to understand” (Matthew 13:1–23). They come to Jesus with humble, childlike faith (Matthew 18:1–4; 19:13–15). Coming to Jesus in this way means no longer relying on oneself but trusting in Him. Jesus invites His faithful ones to trust in Him and find rest. In His revolutionary beatitudes—with their inverted view of the world’s value system—Jesus declares, “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs” (Matthew 5:3, NLT).
God the Father reveals His truth to people who recognize their own spiritual poverty. But for those who have closed their ears and hearts to the truth—the worldly wise, proud, and hard of heart—God takes an active role in hiding from them the secrets of His kingdom (see Matthew 13:14–16). They are the faithless ones who are too wise in their own eyes to lower themselves to the level of a meek and needy child.
The proper posture of believers, both now and in Jesus’ day, is modeled in Proverbs 3:5–7:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil” (NLT).

SD: Generally speaking, CTH is against the Dept of Justice filing warrants and subpoenas against journalists. However, in this case the actions are warranted. If this was the Obama or Biden DOJ taking action against journalists, yes, CTH would support the govt side – on this specific point.
The issue surrounds four journalists for The New York Times who filed a public report that President Trump’s new Airforce One airplane did not have anti-missile defense systems at the time it was used in the trip to the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey.

Beyond the issue of the reported leak to the media, the FBI requested the NYT not to publish their article as it would compromise the presidential security detail in a designated hostile environment. The NYT refused to withhold their reporting and did so specifically with the intent on compromising the security of a United States President. There is no circumstance where that type of journalistic motive is okay; regardless of who is President.
From the Times perspective, their report reflected an opportunity to cast snark at President Trump’s decision to convert a gifted Airforce One from Qatar. Additionally, the New York Times knew their report would put the lives of those aboard the airplane at risk. The journalists went forward specifically knowing the report could lead to a severe security compromise.
NEW YORK TIMES – The Trump administration issued subpoenas on Friday to several journalists for The New York Times, after the news outlet reported this week on security concerns involving President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One.

The biggest one shot in season around here was a cinnamon bear weighing 740 some pounds. that one came to our pond once and was trampling my irises. I went out on the deck yelling at it. didn’t flinch. I brought out my pots and banged them together…nothing. Hubby finally got his gun and shot (not at the bear) and that got it moving finally.

Hubby loves watching this show called Meateater on BoobTube & they have often cut up the carcass of whatever game has been shot & carried it out on the guys’ backs. Pretty gross & messy process 🙁
We did this fly in fishing trip to Fred Lake, North of Wa Wa, Ontario, around 1980 w/ my recently widowed grandpa. On day Two of the week we were there a black bear showed up. This bear was very familiar with the one-room cabin on stilts we stayed in (the only dwelling on that lake) & even invaded it when we were all out fishing. There were muddy paws on the fridge & he got into the food box that was under my mom’s bunk & dragged it out of the cabin & pulled a bag of peanuts out & was eating them when we were trolling by–why I called that bear “Peanuts”.
This bear impacted the remainder of our trip w/ my dad & grandpa going into protection mode for the family. They rigged up an “alarm” system of tin cans on string so if the bear approached the cabin we’d get a warning. Dad also kept a tin can filled with gasoline that he would toss on the nearby fire to flare it up if the bear came in that close. No one was allowed to go to the outhouse alone & we had to make a lot of noise to/from that outbuilding. I remember my mom clapping & singing “This is the Day” very loudly on outhouse runs.
Once my younger brother & I were out on the end of the dock looking at the stars when the bear got on the dock & came toward us a bit, but s/he stopped to check the attached stringers looking for fish. Pretty wild stuff.
The thing that made me think of this experience was the banging pots & pans you mentioned. The bear approached the cabin when we were all inside one night & little bro (the Trustee/Executor of my parents’ estate) was sleeping. The other five of us all grabbed pots & pans w/ lids or large utensils & started banging them to try to drive the bear away. Little bro slept through All that craziness even when my bro & I started banging things within a foot of his head!
The window over the sink had multiple panes in it & the bear had stood on its hind legs & it’s head was in the second pane. The next day my dad stepped out to where the bear had been & his head was in the first pane below, so we figure that bear stood about 7 feet tall.
It was a pretty crazy & sometimes scary time. Dad was concerned because they had no firearms with which to protect us. He, Grandpa, & my brothers were doing the Never Cry Wolf scenario of peeing around the perimeter of “our” territory to mark what was “ours”. Dad also lashed one of his filleting knives to one of the oars to created a makeshift spear, only to be used in extremis as he figured a wounded bear would be even more dangerous than an invasive one.
My parents had paid A Lot of money for that excursion & wrote the company requesting a partial refund because of all the danger & upheaval that bear caused, significantly hampering our fishing experiences. Clearly that bear knew it’s way around that fishing camp so had presumably bothered other tenants too. Of course no refund was ever forthcoming!
I don’t know if it was that bear or another one but one time when I was out on the lake I saw a bear making its way along the heavily wooded cliffs that were along one shoreline. It was truly a breathtaking sight to see such a majestic creature in the wild. I’m so thankful for That aspect of the experience!
when we first built the house, there were more frequent visits–curiosity mostly, but the grill smells must have drawn them too.
we have the area around the house cleared, but for the most part, the woods are the woods and we try to be mindful of all the residents there.
The deer and to some extent the bears treat our property like a haven during hunting season and we’re okay with that as we prohibit hunting to all others but hubby’s brother.

he is about 2-3 years old. he’ll get much bigger.
they are usually not aggressive unless cubs or food is involved. and we keep a healthy respectable distance.
we have a picture on a trail camera showing a larger bear picking up a 20 POUND corn block in its jaws and walking away with it–like a dog with a bone.

COMMENTARY FOR COLOSSIANS 1:16
This epistle was sent because of some difficulties which arose among the Colossians, probably from false teachers, in consequence of which they sent to the apostle. The scope of the epistle is to show, that all hope of man’s redemption is founded on Christ, in whom alone are all complete fulness, perfections, and sufficiency. The Colossians are cautioned against the devices of judaizing teachers, and also against the notions of carnal wisdom, and human inventions and traditions, as not consistent with full reliance on Christ. In the first two chapters the apostle tells them what they must believe, and in the two last what they must do; the doctrine of faith, and the precepts of life for salvation.The apostle Paul salutes the Colossians, and blesses God for their faith, love, and hope. (1-8) Prays for their fruitfulness in spiritual knowledge. (9-14) Gives a glorious view of Christ. (15-23) And sets out his own character, as the apostle of the Gentiles. (24-29)
15-23 Christ in his human nature, is the visible discovery of the invisible God, and he that hath seen Him hath seen the Father. Let us adore these mysteries in humble faith, and behold the glory of the Lord in Christ Jesus. He was born or begotten before all the creation, before any creature was made; which is the Scripture way of representing eternity, and by which the eternity of God is represented to us. All things being created by Him, were created for him; being made by his power, they were made according to his pleasure, and for his praise and glory. He not only created them all at first, but it is by the word of his power that they are upheld. Christ as Mediator is the Head of the body, the church; all grace and strength are from him; and the church is his body. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

PDJT had talked with Graham last night and said Graham toldl him they were pushing the SAVE America Act. Also that Graham was a “great politician” who could work with both Republicans and Democrats to get things done. (There’s a lot that we don’t know about how things work in D.C.)
Pres. Trump got the call at 1:00 a.m. Prayers for him and for all affected by Graham’s passing, including the country as a whole. 🙏🇺🇸 May he rest in peace.
I am aware of many things people didn’t like about Graham, including his opposition to Trump in the past. Those things are being posted on social media. But he also did a lot of good and was working to pass the SAVE America Act. I am taking cues from Pres. Trump about the impact Graham had on both him and the country. PDJT has gotten past previous opposition and was working with Graham, and is clearly shaken by his passing.

Also, there is a concern that private companies will use the information. Legislation is needed to regulate it.
I have little faith that legislation would stop anyone. People find ways to get around things.
medical information is provided to doctors and you have an expectation of privacy. You give your consent to other medical personnel to view it (say at a hospital for example) but that does not mean anyone can view it without your consent. Like a credit card company couldn’t purchase access to that data.
Do other entities have or can access or purchase access to those license plate cameras? other than a police department?
I think that’s one of the major issues. When one drives in public, anyone can see the license plate, but that doesn’t provide them with other information about the driver. But law enforcement can do a lot with it. They have access to whom the car belongs, and, with a network of cameras, where the car has traveled. It’s a major help to them in solving crimes, but also a major privacy violation.
I don’t know about other entities having access, except something I read about someone who had access providing the data to a private company that was beta-testing some system of theirs. So IMO the possibilities for violations of rules and laws protecting our privacy are endless.
i think that needs to be a clear distinction. others having access to that data.

At the end of a particularly thrilling and rollicking meeting in the Oval Office, Lindsey Graham turned to the room and said: “I’ve never had this much fun in my life.”
I cannot describe to you how much joy President Trump’s leadership and friendship brought to Lindsey. Meetings with Graham at the White House were filled with camaraderie, kinship and uproarious laughter.
As heartbreaking as his sudden passing is, I hope it will bring some measure of comfort to those who cherished him to know just how much he was living his dream every day. Very rarely in life do you get to be exactly where you want to be, when you want to be there, with who you want to be with, doing precisely what you want to do — that was every moment for Lindsey.
When President Trump won in Nov 2024, Lindsey was exultant. Elated. And determined. He couldn’t wait to spearhead work, as the Budget Chairman, on the reconciliation bill that would cement President Trump’s most important campaign promises. I’ll never forget the senate lunch, when a couple Senators were a tad off the program, and Lindsey — in his inimitable way — made sure everyone was onside by the time we left. It was a glorious thing to witness. He knew how to move a room.
Lindsey was a senator’s senator. The job was everything to him. Truly did he believe in the splendor of the office and the noble lineage behind it, of which he was the worthy heir.
He was a senator in the mold of those who fashioned the institution, someone who still had the ability, in a heated exchange, to use rhetorical power to change the course of events.
Which is why we will never forget his legendary Kavanaugh moment. We rarely think that we are out of time with our friends, so while there is a lot more I wish I could have said to Lindsey, I am glad that more than once I told him what that moment meant to the whole nation and why he was the only Senator who could have done it with such utter perfection.
Most importantly, I had the chance to tell him on many occasions what his friendship meant to me and to us all. There was never once a time he didn’t answer a phone call and lend whatever assistance was required. It was never a question with Lindsey. He believed deeply in the code of friendship and loyalty.
The fact that Lindsey started out as a political opponent only to become one the President’s most steadfast and faithful supporters underscores that Lindsey believed emphatically in the voice of the people.
There is a lot more I would like to say. His passing, at a time when he had never been more dynamic, is as unexpected as it is shocking. In many respects, Lindsey was the last of a breed of American Senator whose like we may not yet see again for a long time.

More than anything now, our thoughts are with his Sister, nieces and loved ones.
