Dear MAGA: Open Topic 20181231

This special NEW YEAR’S EVE MAGA MONDAY open thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA world.

Say what you want, comment on what other people said, comment on people’s comments.  Keep it civil.  Treehouse rules, but expect lots of QAnon.

Remember – your greatest gift to President Trump is FIVE WORDS:

I AM PRAYING FOR YOU

SPACE FORCE. IT’S LIKE THE AIR FORCE WITH TRUMP STYLE.

Today we can start with this prayer I wrote for michealh…

Heavenly Father, bless all the strong men around the world that are leading from a heart of courage to live godly lives as good husbands, fathers, disciples of Jesus Christ and patriots in their nations.
Grant them strength of heart, wisdom in life, clarity of mind and favor with their families and communities. May their influence grow both locally and generationally.
May the compounding interest of integrity of character yield exceptional dividends in their lives.

Thank you ThinkThinkThink – your prayers are very much appreciated, needed, and heard.

Gudthots

You are welcome.
I posted to Gab as well.
https://gab.com/thinkthinkthink/posts/44811705
I don’t have active followers, rarely get upvotes, amd so it’s kind of an act of faith to post there.
If nothing else, it is an online record that I doubt would be “disappeared” too easily.

CornPicker

That was a beautiful prayer i would be proud to follow you .

Gudthots

TY 🙂

NYGuy54

Do I follow you? I never use GAB

Gudthots

That’s ok. 🙂
Everyone has their domains.
Gab did recently add a tick box to all posts to automatically feed your Gabs to your twitter account so you can post once and have it appear on both platforms.
So if you were thinking of creating a backup account to preserve your twittings in the case of being shut out in the future, it’s easier now.

NYGuy54

find me there TTT

Plain Jane

That is beautiful TTT. I’ve learned over my life to go with what He nudges you to do. You never know who will receive His words, through you. 🙂

rayzorbak

Thus the reason that we are commanded to TESTIFY of what the Lord has done for US as individuals.
We Testify…. the Holy Spirit does the rest.

PeteC

Amen, Rayzor!!! One plants the seed—another one waters—but the Lord causes the growth! (cf. 1Cor. 3: 6-7)

Tonawanda

One of my favorite scholars is Chuck Missler who liked to say it is not our job to convert people, that’s God’s job. As you say, we are simply expected to testify.

Gudthots

Hence the term martyr.

Plain Jane

Yes.

judyw

That is so true, Plain Jane. We learn so much from people we sometimes have no way to communicate to them how they have affected some of our major life decisions. Nudges work and I’ve found if I am not prompted by the first, they general increase in volume and tone so am still learning to choose lower volume and peace with the outcomes. 👍

Tonawanda

I do not want to get into specifics, but when I was 7 my grandfather made an off-handed remark which determined my life and affects me to this day. I am so grateful he made the remark.

judyw

Awesome!

Plain Jane

Beautifully said Judy.

singularZoe

TTT, if you didn’t, may I suggest you also put it aon that “faith” thread, too, it is really good.

Alison

Beautiful ThinkThinkThink ✝️ We all benefit from strong families and fathers who are present in our daily lives. I still turn to my 93-year-young beloved Dad for advice & loving guidance.
Such an uplifting prayer for the final day of 2018.
My faith has never been stronger than it is this year. God has blessed us with President Trump who takes slings and arrows and hurls them back at our enemies – foreign and domestic – with courage & conviction.
Happy New Year to Dear Wolfie and our flock of patriots here at the QTree. 💖💖🇺🇸🇺🇸💖💖🇺🇸🇺🇸

Gudthots

Amen Alison!

Tonawanda

So beautiful!
God bless all men and fathers!

Pat Frederick

that was lovely!

singularZoe

TTT, love this prayer and think it’s wonderful you wrote it for Michaelh.

602 days of the Banned Wagon!!!
– – · –
Let the trumpets be heard! Let the Letter Q be seen and heard around the world!

– – · –
Well if all the theorizing is right, we could see some very interesting stuff this week. New Years Day on Tuesday, and Thursday the Demagogue House of Representatives takes office (as well as our plussed-up Senate).
I figure by about 3PM the Demagogues in the house will have passed articles of impeachment in the House, and they’ll go off to the Senate to be about as dead as roadkill!

Harry Lime

Yeah…I got banned tonight…

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I saw on the other page.
I seem to be unusual here; I don’t think SD is a different person or anything like that. I got banned for criticizing his writing style, way back when.
As they told you on yesterday’s thread, it’s a badge of honor to be banned from Can’t Tolerate Heterodoxy a/k/a Banhammer Central.

Harry Lime

You must feel…at least somewhat vindicated…in that so many others can now recognize the personality flaws in whoever is running that sh*tshow over there. It might not even be one person…could be a group of dysfunctional morons acting like all-knowing gods while sh*tting on anyone who has a differing opinion.
It’s the sycophantic followers who drive me nuts.
I’ve been there since the Jessica Chambers investigation and I don’t even recognize the place anymore.

TheseTruths

“It might not even be one person…”
I haven’t seen anyone mention the moderators (or whatever they’re called there). I don’t know how involved they are in making the decisions. AdRem certainly appears to have a lot of power. I doubt they ask SD if they can ban someone. And if they do have carte blanche, SD appears to agree with their decisions.

Sylvia Avery

I actually peeked in the comments yesterday or the day before when I went over to read SD’s “Solutions” piece. Someone named zooamerica or something similar to that posted several short comments about 9/11. Finally Ad Rem deleted a comment and said something like trutherism isn’t welcome at CTH and to go find a conspiracy theory blog or words to that effect. Shrug.

Sylvia Avery

Well, it is obviously a topic deemed unsuitable for the TH, so beware!

rayzorbak

I think anyone that believes the “Official” story about 911 has not yet looked into it (willfully blind).
There is abundant PROOF that it was NOT as it is being told.

GA/FL

CTH moderators indeed do individually and severally wield the Ban hammer.
Ad Rem banned me the first time I was banned for arguing with Zurich Mike about the science/statistic/Scriptural case against LBGT agenda, and the moderators as a group voted to reinstate me.
The second time, Zurich Mike banned me (possibly along with AdRem). That evening, he said he was out looking for trolls. Both times it was over the LBGT issue.
CTH is Episcopalian/Marxist/Leftist Liberal on social issues.
When I sent the Biblical case against LBGT, I was told by Menagerie to start my own blog if I wanted to espouse my Biblical views on that issue. I replied that I was not interested in returning to CTH due to the feeling of walking on eggshells and their stance on pansexuality. It is a matter of conscience and irreconcilable differences. A necessary divorce unless they repent and recant.

GA/FL
GA/FL
PeteC

Unfortunately, GA/FL, the Episcopalian Church has been apostate for quite some time!!!

GA/FL

Heresy, apostasy, syncretism, faulty ecclesiology, christology, plain old unbelief, etc. They’ve run the gamut of error and rebellion.

TheseTruths

GA/FL, from your linked post: “I came to realize the staff at CTH is aligned with the liberal Episcopalian/Catholic priest/Boy Scout/leftist view of sexuality.”
That explains a lot. My comments were removed and I was banned over there during the controversy over Milo’s comments about pederasty. I said nothing condemning homosexuality or the lifestyle; rather, I reiterated that this kind of controversy hurts our cause and that we have to speak out against even conservatives’ missteps if we are going to stand on principle. A conservative advocating for underage boys to be able to make those kinds of decisions is a LOSING proposition, any way you look at it. Boom…banned.

GA/FL

Well – their view is not GOD’s view of sexuality – for sure. There is no Scripture favoring the LBGT lifestyle – in fact all Scripture forbids is as an abomination.
The Children of Israel understood adultery to mean any God-forbidden sexual activity. The seven laws of Noah preceded the Ten Commandments and Leviticus by centuries – and were very specific about sexual sin/prohibitions.
The seven Noachide Laws, as traditionally enumerated are:
1 Do Not Deny God
2 Do Not Blaspheme God
3 Do Not Murder
4 Do Not Engage in Incestuous, Adulterous or Homosexual Relationships.
5 Do Not Steal
6 Do Not Eat of a Live Animal
7 Establish Courts/Legal System to Ensure Law Obedience
By the time of Moses, the Israelites already understood that ‘adultery’ was any act or relationship that crossed the line of these Noah laws.

GA/Fl, it just makes sense he would have gone after you as you were being faithful to scripture and he was not.

Plain Jane

I always thought he or she was a brilliant sh*thead with a loose temper.

itswoot

“…in that so many others can now recognize the personality flaws in whoever is running that sh*tshow over there.”
As I’ve said before in one of my first posts here, if the Treehouse does go down during a strong wind I think it will be largely due to rot inside the trunk caused by Ad rem’s corrupting influence there.
I’d wager that Ad rem (grrr) is the one who banned you and deleted your posts. Sundance may not even have been aware of the ban when it happened. I still have a high regard for SD.

Sylvia Avery

I just posted upthread about Ad Rem deleting someone’s comment because they were wanting to discuss 9/11. She told them trutherism wasn’t a topic for discussion and to go find a conspiracy theory blog. FWIW.

GA/FL

True – moderators do wield the ban hammer (see my comments above)…but you gotta admit SD is cranky and irritable most of the time. He’s not a gracious host like Flep and Wolfie by any measure.
Rarely does SD like a comment, engage a commenter, praise and showcase a comment (such as Keln’s Deplorables song) with a follow-up post. SD and the CTH moderators are generally cranky and angry if you disagree with them. Probably due to the size of the blog and the garbage comments they have to deal with all the time.

holley100

I became a daily visitor during the Jessica Chambers’ investigation and noticed the crankiness back then. I figured it was because SD had high standards for his blog and that included the quality of the comments.
As TCH grew and moved into the political arena, it seems that SD and the admins became more aware of the greater exposure the blog was receiving and who was reading there. Then some banning and time outs started for posters who dared to disagree.
Just my observation from someone who wasn’t banned (though I may be now) but left on my own. Posters with more history there may have a different take. The Great Q Purge is more troubling though and I honestly have no idea what happened there.

Tonawanda

Although Sundance DID highlight two comments which he made into great stand alone posts: one from Wolfmoon1776, and one from daughnworks247.

GA/FL

True – and there was another commenter whom SD once highlighted, then later (jokingly?) called a Russia-phile. I’ve forgotten the name.

GA/FL

SD also has his famous twitter feuds.

Harry Lime

Nope…I wish I could say this was true…but Sundance (singular or plural or multiple personality) was posting in response while I was being banned.

itswoot

Thanks, Harry, for filling us in on the additional details. It looks like I would have lost my wager.

rayzorbak

Someone has to say it…….. I’m not here to CRITICIZE people for writing style, grammer or prose. I usually understand the gist of the comments through it all. I for one, cringe when I see the Text Police show up.
Just sayin’.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Fair enough.
My “I can’t stand to read this anymore” threshold seems to be lower than yours. Everyone’s is different. An author should avoid setting his work above too many people’s threshold, as a rule.

Tonawanda

Sometimes I did not realize a poster made a mistake or a typo until they corrected it in a subsequent post.
When that happened enough times I also realized to just let my own go, people will understand.
It is still irksome to realize (for example) I got the number or tense wrong, but that’s life!

Cuppa Covfefe

The lack of an edit (or delete) function in Wurst Press is a problem, but other platforms have their “new and improved” problems too (and “new and improved” is an oxymoron itself) (and I’m not speaking of Oxbridge 🙂 )…
There was someone OT who had issues with people correcting themselves, or apologizing. No problemo, in my book. Strunk and White can be fun reading (if not required 🙂 ), just like “look THAT up in your Funk and Wagnalls” [we had one growing up 🙂 )… sockittomesockittomesockittomesockittome 🙂
And, while the “bombs are bursting in air” over here (fireworks at New Years’ are legal in Germany, at least until the Greens get ahold of it…),
A HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!
May 2019 be a wonderful, successful, happy, and faith-filled (and SAVED) year for all the treepers here, and “OT”… GOD BLESS all of you! You are indeed a Refuge and welcome Respite for me (and thanks for putting up with my puns!)…

Tonawanda

Happy New Year!

Tonawanda

A brilliant movie which tells so much about life.
Which is surpassed by the Godfather Epic (which surpasses the great individual Godfather movies, and which in egotistic tragedy Coppola refuses to put on dvd).
Which is surpassed by The Sopranos, a “conservative” and Christian work of supreme art nobody except me (and Chase) has figured out, maybe the last work of art produced by Western Civilization.

NYGuy54

lmao..you guys………

Linda

I don’t know about that, Steve. Can Congress go into session during a shutdown and do other business? I’m thinking they can’t. And POTUS has hinted in tweets that this could be a long shutdown. Maybe some of those dems will be arrested BEFORE they can even do anything. 🙂

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That can’t be true.
If they couldn’t go into session during a shutdown, they’d be unable to pass anything agreed on to end the shutdown! That’d be a lovely catch 22 now wouldn’t it?
Shutdowns affect operations, not management, basically.

Linda

I think they can go into session to vote on a deal they’ve made with the president. But I don’t think they can have regular congressional sessions. I could be wrong, but that’s how I’ve always understood it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I have no idea if they make that distinction or not. Would be interested to find out for sure.
I wonder if their pay is halted.

Linda

If it’s not, it definitely should be. It’s their fault there is a shutdown and they shouldn’t be paid for it. They never passed a budget during the Obama years and they need to start doing it now. Forget these continuing resolutions.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Agree with all of that.
But Congress sets its own salary, and I can’t see them agreeing to stop being paid under ANY circumstances.
The Bill of Rights we know today was actually TWELVE amendments reported out of Congress to the states. Ten were ratified almost immediately, the other two just kind of laid out there with no time limit for ratification. One of those read:

No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.

The idea being that congresscritters would be more careful to not vote for outrageous pay raises if an election had to happen before it took effect.
In 1982 a college student noticed this amendment was hanging out there, and began a campaign to get it ratified. It eventually was ratified in 1992.
Congress side stepped it by passing a law giving them automatic pay raises each term. That law took effect after the next election in accordance with the amendment, and they’ve never needed to vote on a pay raise since. Bastiches.
They are cowards, and don’t want to have to vote on pay raises. Or, as you pointed out, budgets.
If I could personally propose and ratify amendments, I’d *require* a budget every year, passed as separate items (no more omnibus monsters).

A Fortiori (@AFortiori16)

Linda — Congress is still in session. Both the House and Senate convene today at 10am EST for a pro forma session. They have already agreed to another pro-forma session that will end on January 2. If they do not adjourn “sine die” beforehand, the 115th congress expires at midnight on January 2. Under the constitution, the 116th congress convenes at noon on January 3.
It takes a while to get used to the language we use around our government. A government shut down is not a government shut down. Instead this term means that certain components of the government are no longer authorized to spend money. The dates when funding runs out, along with which functions cease, and which functions continue are determined by economists within the office of management and budget. Obviously, not all the money runs out. No matter which agency is “shut down”, the building guards still show up, for example.

Roberta

Very nicely articulated. Thank you.
And of course, the money needs never run out, when all they have to do is turn on the printing press for a few more $B, eh? (Chuckles)

Alison

Flep – thanks SO MUCH for posting here in Wolfie’s Den. I appreciate all your economic analysis and your eternal optimism. We have much to be grateful for. God truly answered our prayers by providing President Trump with a path to the White House.

GA/FL

US is marketing some really good rices – Texmati and that new super-long grain Royal Basmati are awesome! Rich Chinese are going to want to buy them at any price.

GA/FL

Publix brand long grain brown rice is my go-to daily rice. It doesn’t get mushy in soups. This old Louisiana born-S GA gal finds it easy to cook.

Roberta

Making me hungry! Gave up rice years ago along with other grains/grasses. Boy oh my, Basmati: yummy!

NYGuy54

ok Felice..hang on for the 2019 ride….more to come! The Chinese trade deal, NK denuke and Angela Merkel transitions to being a woman!

PeteC

Lol NY54–Merkel transitions to being a woman!!!! She is a NWO Bitch!!!

Cuppa Covfefe

Wow. That last one would be worth the price of admission! 🙂
Especially since I live in Germany!
We NEED more folks voting for AfD, rather than wimping out and voting CDU/CSU (or, gack, the greens)…
And, speaking of “rides”, as they say over here, Guten Rutsch ins Jahr 2019….

Some thoughts from my journal, plus some embellishments to add background:
When we talk to Leftists, we tend to think of what they say in one of the following ways:
* That they are stupid
* That they’ve been lied to
* That they are propagandized
* That they are liars
* That they are power hungry persons with malicious intents
While this may be true, I’ve found a more useful paradigm:
* That they are deeply committed to a pagan political religion and its worldview.
* That they hold to false beliefs as a matter of faith apart from reason
* They are true believers
* They have literally drank the Kool-aid.
This might seem a little extreme, but on the 40th anniversary of the mass suicide of the People’s Temple and Jim Jones, a great deal has come to light on this “cult” – which was never a Christian cult, but a rabidly atheistic and communist committed organization intimately connected with San Franscisco politics of the 1970s.
One insightful investigation shows the connection between Jim Jones and Harvey Milk:
Jim Jones & Harvey Milk: The Secret History
https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/jim-jones-harvey-milk-cult-city-secret-history/
For Christians there is a strong tendency to divide the sacred and the secular, the church and the state, and to see religion as a completely separate category form the state. The concept of “separation of church and state” held by Christians for centuries has blinded us to the reality that all religious systems in history have been not merely wedded to but impossibly intertwined with the state and the power structures. There are too many examples of pagan nations in history to recount, and no examples of nations where the government or King was not somehow deified by the pagan gods.
Once we accept that we are facing a rival, revitalized pagan religion, it becomes much easier to understand their actions and resistance to facts: It is the true believer syndrome at work. A powerful spiritual delusion.

Linda

Leftism, or whatever they are calling themselves now, is definitely a religion to many of them. Without God, they have to fill their lives with something that seems meaningful. To many, that’s politics and leftist causes.

GA/FL

They are living out the road to perdition outlined in Romans 1:16-32.

Molly Pitcher

Leftism uses their collective concocted “spirituality” to advocate for queer issues, illegal immigration, Trump and supporter hate, science fraud issues, etc. It also appears that many church pastors/priests accommodate these views by twisting scripture to justify. They seem to believe that if they think it’s righteous..by golly it is. They, not a higher power decide.

michaelh

There is a large cohort of regressive (“Progressive”) Christians (in name only) who reject the Bible as authoritative and believe they can make up their own doctrines as they go along (“God is larger than a book”). They teach that Christianity needs to devolve (“evolve”) into a form that coincidentally matches with the Democrat party platform.
These people aren’t Christians in any meaningful sense – they have the external trappings and garb, that is all. They are rabidly anti-Christian. Machen is correct that this is an entirely different religion altogether. It is paganism.

TatonkaWoman

There are only two spiritual realms in this world: that of God and His Son, Jesus Christ and that of Satan. The only religion in God’s realm is Christianity. ALL others fall into Satan’s realm and have been formed and inspired by him through his minions. And all of the religions under Sata’s control have only one purpose…to draw people away from God through one device or another.

pgroup

Religion is a man made construct. Christ did not come here to start a religion; He came to save souls.
Whatever heaven is currently, Scripture clearly states that there will be heaven on earth when New Jerusalem comes down and is wedded to earth. At that time, God Himself will walk among us, thus fulfilling His plan from the creation of mankind – to have companions. Since it will be heaven, we will all be on the same level as God. As He intended.

PeteC

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them…’ And He who sits on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new…’” (cf. Rev. 21:1–5; NASB)
Notice how God’s eternal plan will bring things full circle back to the beginning when God the Creator walked with Adam in the garden! Man was created with free will—the freedom to choose or reject their Creator, to obey or be deceived into disobedience (which the Lord obviously foreknew!). God’s whole program on earth has been to remove disobedience (our sin-nature) from His creation for all eternity, which is fulfilled and consummated with the New Heaven and New Earth.

rayzorbak

Agree 100% about “religion”…. (Man’s attempt to get to God)
The Lord gave me one of his “Golden Nuggets of TRUTH” not long ago……..
I believe the Father gave those that He would to the Son:
(Sinners Saved by Grace through Faith before the Beginning of the World)
He showed me that He came to Earth to live a Perfect, Sinless life…..
And to be an example to the writers of his Word (and to US)……
(Gods getting his Word into OUR hands and Minds for:
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

A Fortiori (@AFortiori16)

I have long told people I believe liberalism is a religion and should be treated as one. Given this, and the beachhead the Muslims have gained in the US, we are going to have to develop a better definition of what is a religion in order to preserve the rule of law.

thetinfoilhatsociety

It may be a religion but it’s a secular religion, not a pagan one. The pre-Christian pagan traditions are alive and well within Christianity itself. They were syncretized into the religion. Read The Germanization of Early Medieval Christianity and The Culture of the Teutons if you have any doubts. The virtues of hard work, piety, honor, family, and tradition predate Christianity and resurged during the Muslim invasion – which nearly killed European cultures – because of Christian passivisim. And that’s not a judgement it’s a statement of historical fact.

Michigan MassResistance ignites media firestorm, plus flood of LGBT activists, over opposition to “Drag Queen Story Hour” in Detroit suburb
Town forced to move City Commission meeting to gymnasium because of uproar.
MassResistance parents make huge statement in a liberal suburb!
December 30, 2018
https://www.massresistance.org/docs/gen3/18d/MR-MI-Huntington-Woods/index.html
A pro-family revolt in Michigan has begun. Michigan MassResistance parents confronted the “Drag Queen Story Hour” targeting young children in Huntington Woods, an affluent, fairly liberal suburb of Detroit.
Our efforts were soon reported across Michigan by the Detroit-based media. As a result, hundreds of LGBT supporters converged on the Dec. 18, 2018 Huntington Woods City Commission to demand the event continue and intimidate parents opposed to it. Nevertheless, MassResistance parents came in and testified, unintimidated, and made their point loud and clear. The next day, the statewide media storm continued – reporting MassResistance’s opposition!
Local parents – even a City Commissioner – upset at targeting of children
As we have previously described, so-called Drag Queen Story Hours (DQSH), held mostly in local public libraries, target small children as young as 3 or 4 years old. They feature homosexual men dressed in women’s clothes and garish make-up reading LGBT-related books to children. Their self-proclaimed goal is to program children’s minds – to “give kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models” and to encourage young children to “defy rigid gender restrictions.” They do this through the actual storytime events, and provocative posters in the library.
The Huntington Woods public library has been sponsoring Drag Queen Story Hour sessions for over a year. The program has offended many local parents, but they’ve felt powerless to do anything about it.
It even bothered one of the City Commissioners. On Nov. 17, 2017, when the library began the events, she wrote a passionate email to the librarian asking that they discontinue them. Even though Commissioner Allison Iversen admitted to being pro-LGBT, as a mother she felt that targeting young children was crossing the line. In her email, she shared what many parents felt: “Young children should not be exposed to topics their little undeveloped brains are not yet ready to process.”
Commissioner Iversen also objected to the outrageous advertising for it in the children’s section of the library:
“For those of us with children of reading age…we can opt to not attend the event, but we can’t ‘opt out’ of our children reading the flyers lining the bookshelves. I’d rather not be forced to explain what an “unabashedly queer Drag Queen” is to my younger two children.”
Nevertheless, the library officials basically ignored her and continued their regular “Drag Queen Story Hour” events with the accompanying posters and advertising.
Outrage among parents continued to build up, and by early December 2018, the newly formed Michigan MassResistance chapter decided that they would help local parents take this on. National Organization Director Arthur Schaper talked about it in a striking interview with the national Catholic group Church Militant, which is based in Detroit.
When the library advertised the Dec. 13 Drag Queen Story Hour as being a “Pre-School Program,” we decided it was time to move forward.

michaelh

Taking tough action!
Our Michigan chapter bombarded the Huntington Woods City Commission, City Manager, and the library to cancel this program. They sent out emails, made phone calls, and even passed out flyers informing the public about this program. At one point, Michigan MassResistance activists contacted the city manager, who had initiated this program. She said she was determined to protect this program and no plans to change it, but also indicated that if residents in the city opposed the program, the city would reconsider it. So we pushed even harder!
When Commissioner Iversen got our emails, she emailed us back:
“Thank you for your comments, I have been trying to get this stopped since it started. Please do get more people involved. I am one voice and we need many people to call this out for what it is….unfortunately I will be leaving my commission position this month….I will be addressing at the next Commission meeting [December 18] in my final comments.
“Allison Iversen
She also spoke with some of the MassResistance people about dealing with the outside left-wing groups pressuring the town to keep it, and points she could make at the Dec. 18 Commission meeting. We had announced that parents would protest at the January 26 Drag Queen Story Hour event. We decided to have Michigan MassResistance parents also come and testify at the December 18 Commission meeting to support Iversen, and continue to let the other officials know that there is definitely outrage about this.
The media firestorm erupts
The barrage of calls and emails to the Huntington Woods City Commission caught the attention of the Detroit media.
On Dec. 16, two days before the Dec. 18 Commission meeting, the Detroit Free Press, Michigan’s largest newspaper, started it off with an article, Critics want Huntington Woods Library to end Drag Queen Story Time.
Not surprisingly, most of the article portrayed the Drag Queen event as a “pioneering library children’s hour” that is a near-universally popular event. Only Commissioner Iversen and MassResistance seem to oppose it, the article said, and that MassResistance would be protesting on Jan. 26, 2019.
Interestingly, the article also described how a “gay” library employee was notifying the LGBT community:
“[Part-time library clerk Jon] Pickell, who said he is gay, worries about backlash to the program which has developed a loyal following from Huntington Woods and surrounding communities. He alerted others to a round of emails and flyers floated by groups opposing the drag queen story hours.”
The next day, Dec. 17, more mainstream media outlets jumped on the bandwagon. Their reports continued the theme of describing the Drag Queen event as a healthy, popular event. They got a pro-LGBT City Commissioner to praise it and to condemn the “haters” and “hate groups” who would oppose it. When they interviewed Commissioner Iversen, she stood her ground. Um…..I don’t know how everyone else feels, and I appreciate your effort to inform us, but that is just a bit too much to post, IMO. May I suggest that it would be preferable for you to post a LINK to that so the thread is not filled up, and those of us who are interested can bookmark it. Hope you understand and again, just my suggestion. I know one of the things I love about our den here is not having so many restrictions as OT but….WADR

Still experimenting. Link is above in the original post.
I wish Brian was a little more concise, but he’s trying to write feature length articles not tweets.

Thank you – hope you weren’t insulted – that was certainly not my intent. Glad you are here!

But, a worthy suggestion nonetheless … 😉

especially for slow readers like me

Cuppa Covfefe

Bless you for bringing up this topic, and this problem, for it is CRUCIAL for our children, and the future of America, and the world in general.
I was born and raised in Kalifornistan, in the San Francisco Gay Bay Area, and even almost 60 (!) years ago, this drivel was being pushed at us. Indeed, studying to be a concert cellist and pianist (along with EE), I studied, lived with, and worked with folks for whom no perversion was a bridge too far. Working in the Silcon Valley was the same ugly cesspool, as well. Lots of Pagans and perverts in the programming crowd…
And NONE of them were happy with their lot, their “condition”, and their life, though they were often loath to say or admit it… But they all towed the “party line” (and partied) just to “be in the scene”. And they recruited “new meat” (even I was hit on, the mention of which OT got the ban hammer from AdRem, abeit under a different “Handel”, so to speak. Didn’t know the rules and players OT back then.
But Matthew 18:4-7 says:

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

The corruption of our youth, in particular sexual corruption, is one of the worst offenses possible; yet one of the most delightful to Satan and the DEMONcRATs. And I believe that rooting that particular sin out will result in drainage of most of the swamp.
One has to wonder, after all the perps are found and locked up, will we have a quorum in Congress? And what of other governments and “Royal” Houses? I rather expect the fall of the Demonic Dominoes will be felt and seen far and wide.
And I (almost) cannot wait for GOD’s Perfect JUSTICE to be served…

michaelh

People need to be more aware of what the leftist radicals are up to. But awareness alone isn’t enough. That’s one of the reasons I’m sharing about MassResistance because they are very much oriented toward ACTION, not fundraising. I hate to say it, but most of the well-known “pro-family” organizations, including the very Evangelical Christian ones, simply refuse to fight. They use watered down arguments and hope that they can talk people on the left out of their plans. No wonder they laugh and mock us openly.

wheatietoo

People can say what they will about Vladimir Putin…but I admire him for making it illegal for homosexuals to ‘recruit children’.
In July 2013, Putin signed a bill which outlawed the promotion of homosexuality, same-sex marriages and ‘Gay Pride’ parades.
Funny how the Left loved Putin up until he did that.
Putin has also created programs that promote traditional families and having multiple children.
I wish we did this here!

wheatietoo

I have thought this for some time, W.
Putin also started speaking out against globalists and pedophile rings, about the same time that he signed that law which outlawed adoptions to foreign nationals.
I suspect that whole thing about ‘creating a base off the shore of Venezuela’…was just theater.
It was done to create a ‘reason’ for he and PTrump to “have talks” now.
And it looks like it worked.
😉

wheatietoo

Oh yeah…he KNOWS.
That’s why he is hated as much by the globalists as PTrump is.
And I think that’s why ‘They’ have been desperate to keep them apart.

Tonawanda

Trump and Putin may be each other’s secret Santa.

I once was invited to a library association meeting (can’t recall the exact name), but I was utterly shocked by degree to which they advocated for making every immoral ting imaginable available through libraries, and needless to say, they were very liberal and radical. So much for the sweet little librarian I used to imagine, not that there are not some of those, too. That experience really openened my eyes to some things.

michaelh

I think that too every time I visit Half Price Books. There’s always a strong Bohemian vibe about the place, regardless of the location even deep in the suburbs, and it’s not just the employees but the clientele too. They love books, like the Athenians (“All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there used to spend their time in nothing else than telling or listening to something new.” ~ Acts 17:21 NET) – always seeking but never finding. I used to have fun perusing their “Metaphysical” book section and people watching. Once in a while I’d strike up a conversation and they’d have a blast talking with me until they realized I was an exoteric 😉 They’d leave so fast you’d think I’d been eating garlic and onions.

She is amazing!

I love Candace Owens! She reminds me so much of Carol Swain, a former Vanderbilt University law professor and well-known conservative commentator.

sobriquet3

Big fan here of Carol Swain!

judyw

Oh, me too! I am hoping she can gather a team to win the Mayor’s race next time! She has the message and the background and would be catalyst to be reckoned with. I loved her in Dinesh D’Sousa’s Hillary’s America! I learned a lot from that movie and my biggest take away was that the plantation is not gone, the Dems just moved it to the inner cities.

NebraskaFilly

We certainly aren’t the only ones with corrupt judges!
“The mayor of the Mexican border city of Tijuana claims that a federal judge ordered him to stop turning detained migrants over to immigration authorities. The judge also told him to stop speaking “freely” about the migrant caravan.”
“Most recently, Gastelum took to social media to claim that an unnamed Mexican federal judge had ordered him to stop speaking “freely” about the caravan. A move that the mayor claimed was a “total censure” to his “freedom of expression” and a disservice to the people he represents.”

This looks more like a wall than a fence to me. And I’m quite happy with the steel barrier vs the use of concrete material for the wall.
1). These materials are much easier to transport into more remote area than concrete.
2) . This barrier is less prone to damage than a concrete wall.
3). This is supporting the critical revitalized American steel industry.
My only request: more of it, faster!

GA/FL

Only negative I see is that drugs can easily be passed through this wall.

NebraskaFilly

Only in small packages, which would require someone standing at the wall for quite a period of time, exposed, to get the whole load passed across. At least it will stop the huge bundles.

Gudthots

Only if there is not a second barrier with a no-go zone between.

abstain

People with cats or small dogs would probably appreciate a solid barrier. I’d hate to lose a pet across the border and not be able to get it back.

GA/FL

In his statement on video – President Trump says the contract is for 115 miles of wall, not 15 miles.

Jupiter!
Thank you, Dear Lord, for creating Jupiter.
We are very fortunate to have Jupiter out there; it has been acting like a linebacker for us, blocking objects that would have hit Earth if it were not there.
http://www.sepadomes.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/jupiter-impact.jpg
.
Scientists have witnessed this ‘asteroid blocking’ happen in real time.
There is no telling how many times Jupiter has saved our bacon in the past, before we were watching.
I am grateful for all four of the giant planets that are out there in our solar system…Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus.
http://www.midnightkite.com/PlanetPovray/planets-2-large.jpg
.
These guys all act as ‘blockers’ that intercept comets and asteroids that would impact our little planet, if they were not there.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

All kinds of interesting facts about those worlds.
There was a time when Uranus’s orbit was outside of Neptune’s. However, they swapped position at some time in the past.
Jupiter, especially, has been useful at steering comets, etc. away from the inner solar system as you pointed out. Besides, it gives us Galilean moons to howl at!
We watched comet Shoemaker-Levy impact Jupiter and the cool thing is, Shoemaker, one of the discoverers, had been trying for years to warn us that impacts can still happen…and this has to have been one of the better vindications in the history of science.
If you step outside at night, and look up–ignore airplanes and satellites. There are exactly four objects you can see with the naked eye up there that are smaller than Earth, and those are Mercury, Venus, Mars, and (ironically the biggest looking object up there) the moon.
Everything else is bigger than the earth, most things are VASTLY bigger than the earth. Yet our daily concerns are all entirely ON earth, every man, woman and child who has ever lived has been born and died on Earth, and only a bit more than a dozen of us have been more than a tiny distance, oh, say the distance across Texas, from earth. As big as the celestial bodies are the spaces between them are even more vast. The distance to the moon is about the lifespan mileage of the average car; Mars is a hundred times further than that even at its closest, Saturn is a billion miles away. Some of the bright stars we see in the night sky, e.g., the bright stars in Orion, and Deneb, the bright star at the “top” of the Northern Cross, are half a million or a full million times further away than Saturn, and their light, moving at about a billion miles an hour, takes centuries to reach us (other stars are considerably closer than that, but still unimaginably far away).
And all of this is our near neighborhood, a tiny fraction of our galaxy, and there are tens of billions of other galaxies out there.

Gudthots

Vast is so fascinating.
Notice how we need comparisons to even begin to mentally engage with the vastness?comment image

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

And even then, million, and billion, are genuinely meaningless to us. We can compute them but we really can’t grasp them.
Well, maybe I can take a shot at it.
If you have a meter stick, it is generally divided into one thousand millimeters. Imagine a square a meter on a side. Criss cross it with lines at each millimeter hash, and you will have a million tiny one-millimeter squares.
Imagine a cube a millimeter on a side, and slice it in millimeter increments–there’s a billion little cubes, about the size of a grain of table salt. So imagine a cubic meter of table salt, and imagine counting the grains. It’d take you 32 years at one a second, no time taken off for sleep or meals or bathroom breaks.

Gudthots

I think it was on Kahn academy on the topic of logarithmic scales that I heard the best explanation about comparing very large to very small things. The example of sound being measured in decibels seemed helpful.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I’ve never had the chance to check out the Khan academy but I’ve heard good things about it.

redlegleader68

Silly question here, but did James T. Kirk study there?? 🙂

rayzorbak

Wish I had known about that when I was in college…..

Cuppa Covfefe

 RedLegLeader68,
Yes, Kirk studied there, and, true to form, finished his work early (all the time) and goofed off for the rest of the period, thereby provoking The Wrath Of Khan…
(ducks flying erasers and slide rules…).

Tonawanda

With anxiety a little old member of the Garden Club goes up to the astronomer after his teatime lecture.
In a frightened voice, she asks: “When did you say the Universe will come to an end?”
“About 10 billion years,” he answers.
Relieved she exclaims, “Oh thank goodness! I thought you said 10 MILLION years!”

NebraskaFilly

I saw a graphic display of an overall view of the known galaxies – it made me realize that our earth is nothing but a grain of sand, if that, in the grand scheme of things.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Not even that.
And those graphics inevitably show the “observable universe” at the end; that’s just the part of the universe from which light has had time to reach us since the big bang. Since, meanwhile things have continued to move further apart, the farthest thing we can see we think is now 45 billion light years or so away, but of course that’s 13.8 billion years AFTER what we’d be seeing.
There have been speculative attempts to figure out the minimum size of the whole universe based on theoretical considerations, and–if they pan out–the observable universe is a minuscule fraction of the whole thing…in fact much more minuscule than the earth is to what we can see. One number I have seen is 10^10^10^122 million parsecs. (Note: when you take nested powers, you work from the right to the left, (10^10)^10^122 or 10^10^100,000,000,000,000,000,…and 35 more groups of zeros. Taking the next power of ten would involve more zeros than can fit into the universe, by a huge factor, and that’s even if we can somehow print a billion of them on each proton and neutron in the universe. We’re talking absurdly large numbers here. And there’s still another power to be raised to at that point.

NebraskaFilly

This stuff is WAY above my pay-grade and my intellectual ability – I am much more mechanically inclined rather than intellectually. I still don’t understand – or accept – this whole “big bang” theory – and, IMO, that is just what it is – THEORY! Once again, this completely undermines Christian teaching. The two mindsets are (again, IMO) completely contradictory. It is my belief that anywhere along the scientific timeline where ANY “assumptions” are made (i.e., since in all other cases a data-set applies, therefore it must be factual in all future cases), from the point of the assumption forward is all nothing but supposition. and SWAGs.

rayzorbak

I look at the “Big Bang” theory this way:
In the beginning……
GOD said: “BANG”
Started everything….

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

How ironic that the person who actually first suggested big bang theory was a Catholic priest! He thought it was an improvement over suggestions that the universe was infinitely old and had thus NEVER been created–even more contradictory to Christian teaching than a Big Bang–which after all COULD have been God’s mechanism for creating the universe.

Cuppa Covfefe

I always ask folks, which is the bigger miracle, creating all the known and unkown Universe out of nothing, or how long it took to do it?
GOD is Infinite, Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent (along with a host of other infinite superlatives). Should He choose to create a galaxy in mid-formation, or a ray of light appearing to be billions of years in transit, yet only, in reality, thousands of years in transit, that is His choice and His Glory.
Werner Gitt has a number of books on this (and other subjects) that are well worth reading. “In The Beginning Was Information” and “If Animals Could Talk” are but two of them…

NebraskaFilly

The scientists claim the earth is how many hundreds of millions of years old? Oh, excuse me – BILLIONS! This is yet another claim I simply don’t accept.
“The age of the Earth is 4.54 ± 0.05 billion years (4.54 × 109 years ± 1%).[1][2][3][4] This age may represent the age of the Earth’s accretion, of core formation, or of the material from which the Earth formed.[2] This dating is based on evidence from radiometric age-dating of meteorite[5] material and is consistent with the radiometric ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples. “

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Too bad, then. It’s pretty doggone solid science, far, far more so than global warming. For stuff like this to be wrong, the physics behind a lot of everyday tech would need to be wrong.

NebraskaFilly

Again, along the chain of the “science,” from the point where a supposition is made going forward is nothing but speculation, IMO.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah, except science (done right) is testable. A supposition that fails the tests should be discarded.
For example, it may originally have been supposition that radioactive half lives are constant, but they’re the same (to within measurement error) every time they’re measured. The explanation under this verifiable fact involves quantum mechanics, and the predictions that QM has made are solid to many decimal places–vastly unlikely to be the case if it were somehow wrong (by exactly the same logic that Q peeps use to maintain that Q has been right so many times it’s mathematically impossible he isn’t someone connected closely with the administration).
Quantum mechanics underlies the laser in your DVD player and it underlies radioactive decay, which in turn underlies the ages measured for rocks, using, in many cases, two different decay series, the one for U-235 and the one for U-238.

NebraskaFilly

I appreciate your efforts – I really do. But I am simply not capable of understanding this stuff. Zero scientific education here nor do I have any desire to learn. I even worked for a physicist back in the mid-80’s whose work involved photovoltaics and semi-conductors and had to type TONS of long, complicated equations using only a Selectric typewriter. Never understood one of them! LOL. Sorry, but there it is – I have to be honest.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

But I am simply not capable of understanding this stuff.

And yet you feel free to simply assert that a very solidly determined scientific conclusion in re: the age of the Earth, is bullshit.

NebraskaFilly

Why does this matter so much to you, Steve? I have my own beliefs – they aren’t threatening your beliefs, are they? Why do you attack me?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

If I were to call bullshit on your beliefs, I’m sure you’d respond.

NebraskaFilly

Hmmm….is it not possible that this “science” has been hijacked as has occurred with “climate change?” Scientists also have their own internal biases, do they not? OK – I am going to stop now. I don’t want to fight with you, Steve. If it makes you feel better, I will refrain from posting my opinions on this issue.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I tried to be careful to distinguish this from “climate science,” which is largely based on badly-abused computer models, instead of actual experimental/observational results. That’s why I tried to stress how accurately QM describes what is actually seen in the lab. That’s what makes it solid. Scientists have run experiment after experiment designed to get QM to fail (the man who succeeds will become very rich and famous–scientists actually gain MORE prestige when they overturn something thought to be true than when they confirm it), and have themselves failed.
So I’m willing to be quite confident in QM (hence radioactive decay, lasers, and the basis of age measurements) and quite un-confident in “climate science.”

NebraskaFilly

I will defer to your superior judgment. Happy New Year, Steve! How cold did it get there last night? Winds here up to 40 mph, -2 when I left work last night shortly after 10 pm. Small drift in my driveway – thank goodness for 4-wheel drive and garage door remote!!! LOL – sunshine now, predicted almost 40 degrees come the end of the week.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

When I went to bed (early) it was about +11 F. At about 9AM today, it was +3 F. Wind was bad but not 40MPH (it was blowing much harder late morning yesterday). Some snow but not much (usual for here).
Well, major warming trend. It’s now +5 out.

NebraskaFilly

HEAT WAVE!!!! Snow (not all that heavy) started here around noon, stopped about 9 pm but the wind kept up most of the night. But, then, it seems to be relatively rare for it not to be windy.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah, we know what wind is here on the high plains, on a nearly daily basis (not taking away anything from hurricanes–but our average has got to be higher than anyplace in hurricane alley)
Chicago? Windy City? Pffft.

wheatietoo

That’s pretty cool, isn’t it.
——-From the article:
Next month, a super blood moon will pass over the U.S. capital on a Jewish holiday in a manner that one pastor argues connects to a prophecy in Zechariah, creating a link between Donald Trump and Persian King Cyrus building the Jewish Temple.

NYGuy54

Dunno about that – seems a bit of a reach.
The holiday is Tu B’Shevat
“The 15th of Shevat on the Jewish calendar—celebrated this year on Monday, January 21, 2019—is the day that marks the beginning of a “new year” for trees. Commonly known as Tu Bishvat, this day marks the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle.”
Kinda like our Arbor Day

Gudthots

There are places logic cannot go.
The prophetic is certainly in that territory.
Which is a good reason to always have three opinions on any particular prophetic idea. There is a certain culture that is especially well known for the skill of multiple viewpoints. (“On the other hand…” – Fiddler on the Roof) [wink]

NYGuy54

lol…happy new year TTT

Cuppa Covfefe

Especially when Tevye says “I have FIVE daughters”…
He needed multiple viewpoints with them 🙂 (e.g. “Far From The Home I Love”…)

Don’t forget:
God told Nehemiah to “BUILD A WALL!”

Cuppa Covfefe

And, Nehemiah 2:18-20 is especially important, in particular to those who say “their land” is being “occupied” (cf v20):
“18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.
19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?
20 Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.”

My notification bell acts up on my pc. My likes don’t always stick when on my cell phone. Everything works ok on the laptop. It’s like this on the other site as well. Think it’s just a wp thing…

CM in TN

Also can’t see the “like this post” widget on the pc.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Opposite problem. When I reload the page the bell lights up, even if there’s nothing new.
That’s on top of having it not light up sometimes, like you’re saying.
One thing that does happen is that a like will push a comment to the top of the notifier, cause the bell to light, but then when I go look, nothing is blue. What I will see instead is something above the highlighted comment (I deal with them bottom-to-top, which is chronological order, so the last one I look at is at the top and it’s highlighted when I’m done). I’ll know that someone added a new like to that top comment, then.

Yep, I’ve had the same problem with the bell lighting up after a refresh-page…with nothing new.

Lots of posting in recent days from OT and discussions about SD’s state of mind. How about a suggestion for New Year:
We stop posting the OT anti-q comments here, as well as other Eeyore negatives. As our fearless First Lady stated, ” I.Don’t. Care. Do You?”
We continue to post positive, informative OT comments (within reason). Personally I would appreciate some savvy cyber Q treeper bring Black Knight’s comments here to our Den.
We -as Wolfie rightly suggested – let SD be SD, and stop speculating on why the changes at CTH.
We look at that list of top 22 conservative sights (ignoring Drudge and others we know aren’t on Trump’s side), and start reading posts and comments on those sites.
Obviously, others may disagree with my suggestions. No sweat. No matter what these Wolfie threads contain, I read or scroll by to suit my tastes, and encourage your own personal pattern of participation.

Gudthots

You can find all the best stuff just cruising around Gab and Twit-ville.

Alison, I love this idea! What are the 22 conservative websites? I often check out daily caller and town hall.com,and of course I rely on all of you to share info (* thanks churchmouse!) but would love to know where I can get trusted conservative news … Thanks for a fantastic idea. I hope more are on board. I agree, let SD be SD, even if it’s a group of people or one person (with an editor). Sd just has differnt gifts than what I am needing right now.

Prairie123

Thank you very much! It looks god so far. Got any more suggestions? Thanks in advance!

There are a number of news aggregators (Drudge alternatives) out there.
I think the best aggregator is Whatfinger – it combines results from several similar sites including Drudge. The layout is modernized compared to Drudge but still maintains the functional column view. Articles are rated so you have an idea of the reporting bias in advance. A lot more opinion pieces are included. They’re the ones that reintroduced me to CTH.
https://www.whatfinger.com/
The Liberty Daily is very good. It has an obvious conservative bias. It’s chief benefit is that it doesn’t pretend to be moderate so you don’t get the accidental leftist content.
https://thelibertydaily.com/
Another one is Citizen Free Press. The chief advantage here is that they actually employ a comment system, which is lacking on the other two.
https://www.citizenfreepress.com/
By the founder of the Babylon Bee is the Christian Daily Reporter, meant to be a Christian version of Drudge with a lot more emphasis on religious news. It’s not updated as frequently as I would like so it isn’t my go-to source but it does have some unique reporting.
https://www.christiandailyreporter.com/
I will be honest with you though – I don’t have time to mindlessly click links on aggregators. Too much firehose and not enough of the information management and archival that I really prefer.
I subscribe to the mailing list for just about every news site I read or track, so I do a lot of my news reading through my email reader. Nobody uses Usenet anymore but it would be a great tool in the event that websites started going dark. I’ve never found an RSS reader that suits my needs so I don’t use RSS. I have a few podcast subscriptions but I can’t consume podcasts effectively and don’t know how other people do it. Vlogs/vcasts are out of the question.
Generally I’m doing good if I can keep up with Sundance’s posts – which usually I can’t. He’s the only one that I’m intentional about keeping up with.

Tonawanda

Now whether they’d be able to stand the Q stuff without flying off the handle and angrily denouncing everyone here as deluded idiots, is another question.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

If they post a genuine solid argument that Q is a phony, I’d want to thank them. It’s just a “you are all stupid fools” rant with NO supporting argument that would be bad.

i think quite frankly that’s a slippery slope…once you start banning what can be posted you turn into what you just left…you can always scroll by what doesn’t interest you.
many are still struggling to understand what happened to SD…I want to understand it so I can hopefully see the warning signs in the future. and i’m trying not to be so naive to think it cannot happen at other sites…but this is just my opinion and as I did with SD, I defer to our host.

holley100

Right just like no Q talk. Posters are still being banned OT and finding their way here, so it’s fresh for them. I also think there is a lot of good info. to be mined from SD and the posters. On a personal level, I continue to be interested in what happened OT. It still puzzles me.

Aubergine

You are right, when the newly banned people find us, they are going to need to vent and explore their feelings.
Heck, I’m still exploring mine. I have thought about my reaction to the ban, and have figured out that I reacted so strongly to it because it is the first time in my adult life that I have been kicked out of a group for being who I am. I am an introverted loner, certainly not a joiner, so I have avoided most groups since my school years.
And the ban was a lot like how I was treated in school. I was always an outsider, too different to fit in, always saying/doing the wrong thing. And the CTH was literally the only blog site I had ever commented on. I had made a few comments here and there on news sites, but I had never even regularly followed a blogger. So it was really a blow when I realized I had been banned. I imagine it felt that way to others.
If we start to tell people not to talk about it, won’t that be just like telling people not to talk about Q? The scroll key works great. I scroll past discussion about some things here without a thought because they just don’t interest me.
I will, of course, follow the lead of Wolfmoon. It is his pack so to speak.

Tonawanda

Are you an INFP by any chance? (Personality type)

Lol. No. I am an INTJ, which is very odd for a woman. Under 1% of women actually, which is why I guess I am considered such an oddball!

That’s awesome. My wife is an INTJ – very rare breed. How she married an INTJ is itself a mystery.

I started posting over there before the Trayvon Martin stuff. No doubt in my mind he has changed dramatically since then. Plus the array of posters is completely different.

I recognize almost nobody at CTH, and my heyday over there was between about September of 2016, and May 8 of 2017.

I heard him say in his video that he is a lawyer that works for New York State.
I would venture to say that if his identity is discovered, he will likely lose his job with New York State.
Furthermore, I would not be surprised to see a major effort to detect and expose this man’s identity, and used to shame him. Hopefully if this happens, it will be countered by a major push-back to encourage other citizens to come forward on matters of public concern.
New York is a lost cause.

This video is ‘disinformation’.
It was put out by “Tonic”…which is a part of VICE, a leftist outfit.

See how the video brings up the subject…addressing how ‘shocking’ it is…
Then quickly downplays it, acting as though it is something that is ‘still being researched’.
That way, if you hear about some big name elitist doing this…you are conditioned to dismiss it.
But in reality, this practice of harvesting the blood of children, Has Been Going On For Years.

There is one thing she said in the video, that I *hope* is true:

There is no doubt the average Leftist is a *figurative* cannibal, advocating living off of other people, consuming the product of their work.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Most “movement atheists” have indeed substituted the state for God.
And many will advocate for more cradle-to-grave welfare statism because they claim that economic insecurity (e.g., worry about what will happen if you lose your job or have a catastrophic illness and are bankrupted by it) is something that *causes* people to be religious, or at least makes them reluctant to give it up. Now, coming from someone who thinks there are no gods (not even one), and trying to look at it from their point of view, that’s a very condescending attitude to take towards your fellow man; that he’d believe a falsehood because it’s comforting.

Wolfie, I just watched the video you posted up top with that guy Jordan or Justin or whatever. That was pretty interesting. I thought his careful analysis of the Washington Times article was excellent. Very steady, very logical, very believable.
I came away wondering who leaked what info to this writer at the WT and what was their motive? Fascinating. Good heavens, with everything else that is going on I really don’t want to have to worry about aliens and revealing that they are here and have been for ages. On the other hand, can you imagine this press release: “Aliens? Oh heck yeah, they are here and living in a gated community in Palm Beach. They advise on our Space Program. And yeah, we arrested Hillary and BO this morning and they are at Gitmo awaiting their tribunals.” No one would care. They would be so undone by aliens that they wouldn’t give a darn about a bunch of politicians who are well past their pull dates.
Anyway, thanks for posting it! (PS I used to watch the XFiles and ever since we started learning about the Deep State I keep flashing back to the Smoking Man and all those super secret meetings…)

it is a good topic to study and think about sylvia…
i actually was redpilled fully on aliens very early on in life. i never saw them on tv (did not have one in our house until i was 12) or influenced by movies, etc.
in the redpill i took the aliens were from a planet called “heaven” and the people that taught me about them were pastors and sunday school teachers.
later on it made the secular world view of aliens seem quaint in comparison, but my mind was already open by then.
this is no disrespect to religion at all… just putting things into context 🙂

Sylvia Avery

Crazy town Congresscritter Sheila Jackson Lee (per PJ Media) will be looking into funding a study to study what a fabulous idea it would be to pay reparations to descendants of slaves.

The hilarious thing is that the descendants of slaves are invariably ALSO the descendants of slave owners. Whereas I, for instance, am not descended from anyone who lived here from 1607-1865.
They can go pay reparations to themselves!
Sure, reparations activists could then claim that I’m a beneficiary of a society built on the backs of slaves, but then, so are they, so those claims cancel.
Oh, wait. Silly me. I forgot. Logic is a Dead White Male construct.

Logic banning? One of my favourite little Jane Austen quotes, “facts are such horrid things.”

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Very simple: I cannot be held accountable for the crimes of my ancestors. And I cannot be held accountable for the crimes of people NOT my ancestors.

andrew1979

honestly when i was in college i wrote a paper loosely based on race relations. part of it touched on reparations. i actually stated in the paper i would fully support a reparations program that would be an immediate and substantial cash payment to all african american citizens. the payment would be not be monitored or restricted on what it could be used for, it was a reparation payment. however, after this was done everyone would need to never again speak of the problem as the slavery penance had been paid. any further “race issue” could never be tied back to slavery or be used to gain any special circumstance. and the handsome payment would be more than enough to give each and every african american citizen juat as mucg opportunity as anyone else.
i got a D on the paper.

Sylvia Avery

John Yoo has written a hopeful piece about the Supreme Court.
“…Now committed to originalism, a majority of the Supreme Court can begin the process of restoring the Constitution to its original meaning and returning the judiciary to its place as the “least dangerous” branch. And that restoration may well begin in 2019.
Perhaps the most immediate area, but also the most influential, will be cutting back the administrative state….”

I had been looking forward to Amy Coney Barrett. DiFi had already bit her ankles and peed in the punchbowl during her earlier confirmation saying something remarkably silly like, “the dogma lives strongly within you” or something implying Ms Barrett was too Catholic to be a judge. Geezer DiFi is eager to protect abortions because at 85, well, you just never know. ::EyeRoll::
And now there has been some controversy over some judge going through confirmation who is (gasp!) a member of the Knights of Columbus! Quelle horreur! Quick find me a fainting couch! Smelling salts! I’m overcome by the vapors!
Did you know (fanning myself furiously) the KC is a MEN’S ONLY organization????????
Kamala Harris and one of her Commie friends have been all over this spewing what amounts to anti Catholic bigotry. I’m not a Catholic, but honestly this is all so annoying and stupid I want to shriek.
With Catholics basically being driven out of polite society, I don’t know how ACB would stand a chance getting on the Court.

Aubergine

I guess if belong to any group other than Antifa or the Black Panthers, you should be excluded from the judiciary?

rayzorbak

I would be FOR the Banning of ANY Satanic “Club” from holding ANY government office.
(i.e. Skull and Bones, Wiccans, Scientologists, Free Masons, etc.)

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Define “Satanic Club” then. I guarantee you at least some of those groups would say they aren’t satanic at all. And there are others that would laugh because, although they aren’t Christian, they don’t believe Satan exists either.
Besides, you fall afoul of Article VI of the US Constitution with this idea.

rayzorbak

I knew you would disagree steve….. as will others.
I just said that “I” would be for it

Cuppa Covfefe

They may well say that they aren’t Satanic, but the rank and file often aren’t privy to what the upper levels do, know, and say.
For example, in $cientology, in level OT9, LRH (L. Ron Hubbard) declares himself to be god. Mentioning that to a PC (pre-clear) or indeed anyone below OT8 would cause terrible things (restims, enturbulations, etc., etc.). The rest of us would just laugh. Having said that, though, LRH and Jack Parsons (the JP in JPL) performed a Ritual that Aleister Crowley, a known and very-high-ranking Satanist WARNED them NOT TO DO. LRH, founder (or one might say, author) of Dianetics and Scientology was a Satanist. And a plagiarist (or “borrower”) as well.
Another source, a former Satanic Black Magick Illuminised Witch, has described many items and spells described in the Harry Potter series as being either “real” (live witchcraft) or very close, i.e. modified from the real thing. Many will have problems with that (ahhh, it’s just a children’s book), but the ultimate source remains the same.
And therein lies the danger.
Look at http://www.crossroad.to and http://www.cuttingedge.org, among others (vigilantcitizen, for one). Though some articles are dated, the subject matter and SME’s are still relevant, and still worth noting. Having said that, researching any of this requires a LOT OF PRAYER, and continuous prayer while researching. Berrit Kjos recounts a number of difficult situations on crossroad .to.
In viewing any of these groups, it is important to note their relationship with GOD. If they allow for and/or acknowledge “foreign” gods (e.g. Allah), then they are a danger to be avoided. If they feel that “all roads lead to the top of the mountain”, then the road(s) that they’re describing are the wide path leading into Hell.
Remember that the DEMONcRATs are ALWAYS looking at “faith”. We must do the same, albeit for different reasons, and in all fairness, nonetheless strict discernment.

singularZoe

And LRH was once a used car salesman, too. Great post, Cuppa.

Cuppa Covfefe

singularZoe

Thanks, Steve. Lol.

redlegleader68

Yep, but even more disturbing to me is the thought that, “…originalism, a majority of the Supreme Court…” is now including one CJ John Roberts in the majority.
Not real sure I’m including him in, “…restoring the Constitution to its original meaning and returning the judiciary to its place as the “least dangerous” branch.”
Just sayin’ … 😉

Tonawanda

One good thing to come out of the hearings is that Kavanaugh apparently cannot be blackmailed.

NYGuy54

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I’m telling you, many people here would oppose a return to true originalism.
Find me the spot in the Constitution where the federal government is authorized to run an old-age or retirement pension system.

singularZoe

True, but nothing prohibits the states from doing so. Also, many cabinet departments would be gone, which I would welcome.

NebraskaFilly

I advocate for the end of SS, personally, but all of us who have had these funds withheld from our checks for our entire adult lives have to be compensated for that. Wasn’t SS originally only intended for the widows of soldiers killed in battle? As with ANY “government” program, of course it was expanded and made permanent. Just one more method to make The People dependent on government, IMO.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Wasn’t SS originally only intended for the widows of soldiers killed in battle?

The government has long had pensions for widows of soldiers. In fact, they gave Union soldiers’ widows a pension for over a century after the civil war ended (old soldier marries young woman, she gets his pension when he dies).
But as I recall, SS was a “new” program as part of the New Deal, and the first woman to retire after it started paid in for ONE week and was supported by it for the rest of her life.
The sad truth of the matter is, the money you paid in–got paid right back out again to someone else immediately. My SS taxes don’t go into an account for me; they go to someone who’s already on it. I’m not sure what could be done to recompense you for money which was essentially stolen from you (and similarly from me, and everyone else) but the answer is NOT to do it by continuing to steal money from everyone else.
Tough issue to be sure.

michaelh

I’ve pretty much written off that I’ll ever see a dime from SS.
But Trump seems to think he can solve the problem. I’m willing to let him have a crack at it.

NebraskaFilly

Oh, I know – and the politicians have plundered it as well. My thought is a cut-off date for people under a certain age to stop participating. Those over a certain age continue receiving their payments. Cut off foreign aid to a few countries who hate us and it would be paid for. Yeah, right – like THAT’s going to happen!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Our foreign aid budget isn’t a fraction of what we need to fulfill social security.
In fact, federal spending can be very roughly divided into fourths–Defense/Veterans, Medicaid, Social Security, and Absolutely Everything Else, which includes welfare, foreign aid, the Department of Justice (which is a vital function, if done non-corruptedly, so you really can’t zero it out), NASA, national parks, department of Agriculture, et. endless cetera. Yes, a lot of “everything else” is crap, but a good part of it isn’t, and the real point is that foreign aid is minuscule compared to Social Security.

NebraskaFilly

Being the rank amateur I am on national finance, I have never understood the division between mandatory and discretionary funding. Who makes these rules anyway? *sigh* I know – Congress Critters! There is just something wrong with this picture.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Different (but related) subject, and I’m convinced they set it up that way in part because they could demagogue the defense budget as being “most” of government spending. In fact, it’s most of “discretionary” spending, things that (in theory at least) they need to pass a budget for. Social Security and Medicaid are basically on autopilot, funded by their own dedicated taxes, and they’re enormous, roughly half of all federal spending. But if they compared defense spending to the WHOLE pie, they couldn’t depict the defense budget as bloated beyond our true needs.
It’s a distinction I quite deliberately ignored in my last post.

Happy New Year from OZ! Celebrating with friends…possible cyclone on the way..love living tropical!
Rock on!

churchmouse

Happy New Year, shebythesea!
Hope the cyclone misses you. Stay safe and please check in so we know you are OK!

shebythesea

Thanks Churchmouse. Cyclone Penny formed this morning, cat 1, so st this stage just rainfall for us. December has been particularly wet with 1.5 metres of rain…yes you read that correctly, one month! ‘Tis the wet season which can bring anything from 3 to 7 metres of rain each year. Exciting stuff!

churchmouse

Thanks for the update, sheila ( 😉 ) — take care down there.
Wow, what a lot of rain.
Do keep us posted as and when you can!

singularZoe

Shebythesea, I remember asking you if you w sold sea shells by the sea shore, and I think you told me where you were, but can’t remember what country. Do you mind telling me again? I pray the cyclone misses your area. Your name is my favourite on this blog, and that’s saying a lot.

Tonawanda

Something on the barbie?

shebythesea

Of course! We have prawns, calamari, coral trout and a few scallops…all local caught. Oh and a bottle of Makers Mark. All good here down under.

shebythesea

Thank you, big thumbs up.
Very excited for 2019 and what’s to come. I might need to stock up.

singularZoe

Sheila, you must be in Australia, though don’t know which coast. Is coral trout different flavour from other trout? Love trout.

shebythesea

Hi singularZoe, Sheila is an Aussie term for woman or girl but I go by shebythesea and I live in the far north of the east coast where we have some great seafood! Coral Trout is an ocean reef fish with white delicate flavoured flesh from the grouper family. Mudcrab is another favourite in this house but must be wary of crocs when catching…big crocs are moving in so I refuse to get in the dingy these days!

singularZoe

Thank you, Shebythesea. Like to learn about other parts of the world and what life is like there.

Tonawanda

Nice!

Continuing with the space theme and some mindless musing from Jack K Handy….
I am (judging by what I see on the internet anyways) one of the few that considers “Star Trek Enterprise” at least in the top two of the Star Trek universe shows. I always thought the open and theme song was one of the best, for the most part American Imagery, though I think they mixed in some Soviet or Russian cuts in this extended version.
This was a late 90’s show, definitely the open has a influence from the Armageddon movie/Aerosmith theme song
For those who haven’t seen it here it is….

Bre Payton article 12/13/2018
https://thefederalist.com/2018/12/13/doj-destroyed-missing-strzok-page-text-messages-before-ig-reviewed-them/
Then 12/28/2018
Bre Payton, a writer for the conservative news site The Federalist and a frequent guest on the Fox News Channel and other media outlets, died suddenly Friday at the age of 26.
The Federalist and a friend, Morgan Murtaugh, confirmed Payton’s death in San Diego. Murtaugh tweeted that she found her friend unconscious on Thursday morning and doctors determined Payton had H1N1 flu — also known as swine flu — and meningitis.

A Fortiori (@AFortiori16)

I think she was poisoned and wonder what she was working on. I saw something recently from her about the missing Stroz/Page texts?

judyw

The link to that article is above and her “sudden death” was reported 15 days later. I’ve had another train of thought recently pertaining to another journalist who died in a reported similar manner while working with a group of survivors now in their mid-20’s who were used, abused and pimped by and to other elite pedophiles and named to authorities one Bill Clinton and others as perpetrators.
It may be a stretch but these journalists know the risks they are walking into and they do it willingly, I believe because they have the skills and feel a duty to give the information to the public. So knowing the black/white hats exist, could we entertain some disinformation thrown out as bait while these brave souls are somewhere being processed into the WPP?
Witness Security Program
The U.S. Marshals Service provides for the security, health and safety of government witnesses, and their immediate dependents, whose lives are in danger as a result of their testimony against drug traffickers, terrorists, organized crime members and other major criminals.
The Witness Security Program was authorized by the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970 and amended by the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984. The U.S. Marshals have protected, relocated and given new identities to more than 8,600 witnesses and 9,900 of their family members, since the program began in 1971.
The successful operation of this program is widely recognized as providing a unique and valuable tool in the government’s battle against major criminal conspirators and organized crime.
Witnesses and their families typically get new identities with authentic documentation. Housing, subsistence for basic living expenses and medical care are provided to the witnesses. Job training and employment assistance may also be provided.
The U.S. Marshals provide 24-hour protection to all witnesses, while they are in a high-threat environment including pretrial conferences, trial testimonials and other court appearances.
No Witness Security Program participant, following program guidelines, has been harmed or killed while under the active protection of the U.S. Marshals Service.
In both criminal and civil matters involving protected witnesses, the U.S. Marshals cooperate fully with local law enforcement and court authorities to bring witnesses to justice or to have them fulfill their legal responsibilities.

In keeping with today’s MAGA thread, here’s something cerrent on NASA’s New Horizons probe. On New Years Day, New Horizons is due to fly by, and photograph, Ultima Thule in the Kuiper Belt. The probe is currently about 4 billion miles from Earth.
An artists rendering:comment image
From the article:
New Horizons is so distant that mission scientists have no way of helping out if any last-minute glitches arise. Instead, any final troubleshooting must be handled by the probe’s onboard software.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Hal Weaver, a research professor at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and a project scientist on the New Horizons mission. “This is another great step in the exploration of our solar system.”

Sorry–Am not keeping up to well lately…

NYGuy54

oh no need we have bright and perceptive people who post here

Elizabeth Carter

Marcia, In my opinion the Navy has taken a Protective position.
President Trump is not much for playing defense. He is more for doubling down on offense.
I am not a military person, but a lot of things are common sense. If America is looking weak, the DS/Cabal is more likely to try to attack us.
I don’t know much about these Navy ships, but I would assume that they have weapons to shoot down incoming missiles, communication equipment to keep our military online from coast to coast and worldwide even if the land communications are down for most of America, the ability to launch missiles at attacking nations and to get the information out to our troops who are all over the world to retaliate locally.
I believe the point being made here is that if someone wants to attack America “bring it on but we will not take it lying down. You will see the mother of all retaliation”.
President Trump is not much into defense. He is into “If you hit me, I will hit you harder”.
They will not attack when they know we are strong and America is strong now.
President Trump is a winner, not a whiner.

rayzorbak

Note to our enemies:……….
Our “ships” may be near home now…….
But we still have NUCLEAR SUBMARINES all around the world….

Elizabeth Carter

rayzorbak, America is literally paid to protect a large part of the world.
We cannot ever give the slightest impression that we are weak or afraid.
If we are attacked by this motley crew, we have to take them down hard and permanently. They must never want to try this again.

I agree! In fact, that was my point.

We’ve witnessed math go down the drain; we’ve experienced logic and critical thinking to be mere shadows of what really matters; history has been re-written to suit agendas; science has become a god to be worshipped and adored, because science is to be trusted more than people.
We’ve seen teachers become conformed and sell out to this type of education reform; while we’ve seen others walk away in disgust to join the millions of parents protesting.”

“Buried in the concluding paragraphs of a Christmas Eve Washington Times report about Muslims in Uganda forcing Christians to convert to Islam was the extraordinary revelation that in that country, Muslims now consider any public statement of the Christian Faith to be a calculated insult to Muslims, for which they can justifiably exact revenge. This is, or should be, sobering news for the comfortable Christians of the West who have made an idol out of “interfaith dialogue” and fastidiously avoid saying anything remotely critical about Islam, even as the Muslim persecution of Christians continues worldwide.”

Fifty years ago, missionary nuns from Uganda — of the same teaching order as the nuns in my primary school in the US — rejoiced in their testimony before us, saying that Christianity was the predominant religious belief in that country. They said it was a long struggle.
Our class — along with our teacher — were delighted to hear the news.
However, what we learn from this article — half a century on — is that nothing is permanent, sadly.
We must always pray that faith in our one and only Saviour and Redeemer prevails.

Lisa Haven can be a bit over dramatic at times and I was skeptical when the video started out… But then she had backup proof for her dire warning and it comes from none other than POTUS45 himself! Where Lisa talks quite a bit about the cancer-causing effects of 5G she hits also on the spying factor by China if American companies are allowed to buy Chinese telecom equipment because it is “so much cheaper”! The spying factor, by China, is POTUS45’s main concern! I must say, this video hits home for me in many ways!

PeteC

Taken from a speech by President Trump on Oct. 13, 2016 as candidate Trump (from CTH)–
“But the central base of world political power is here in America, and it is our corrupt political establishment that is the greatest power behind the efforts at radical globalization and disenfranchisement of working people. Their financial resources are unlimited. Their political resources are unlimited. Their media resources are unlimited. And, most importantly, the depths of their immorality is unlimited.”
If the governmental powers of the United States were willing to assassinate a sitting President in broad daylight in a kill-zone at Dealey Plaza in Dallas — if these powers were willing to sacrifice almost 3,000 lives on 9/11 to justify a “War on Terror” to disrupt the Middle East and Afghanistan — then it shouldn’t surprise us that the Obama Administration was willing to illegally spy on all the 2016 Republican candidates and continue that illegal activity into the Trump presidential transition and his presidency! A soft coup, which continues to this day, would appear to be business as usual for the corrupt powers of our government. Their immorality is truly unlimited!
I am sure President Trump is aware of all the foregoing, and is tip-toeing through all the land mines in an attempt to bring it all to the sanitizing light of day. We pray for his protection and his family — he certainly did not need to put his ass on the line for all us patriots!!!
The Lord God Almighty has risen him up on our behalf against these forces of evil — We pray for his success, and the wisdom necessary to succeed!
To everyone here (a very lovely extended family to have!!!) — a Happy and Prosperous New Year in the Lord!!!!

PeteC

Happy New Year, Wolfie!!! Thank you for creating a place that we can congregate in peace and share ideas, research, and inspire one another in hope even though the skies are very ominous!! God bless you and watch over you and yours because I know you are on their radar!!!
