But whenever (which is rarely) I see Sundance analysis nowadays, I am reminded how brilliant he is, and pray he is safe and sound. Wolf’s suggestion that Sundance has been messed with is very plausible.
I do not see an old and new SD, the behaviors, irritability and intolerance for dissent, was always there. I read OT beginning just before the Trayvon mess.
It’s a lot harder for people to see those sorts of things when they agree with the person who exhibits them.
When SD changed his mind on a lot of issues, suddenly people were on the receiving end, and noticed.

Maybe a year ago Sundance got into a dispute with Bongino on twitter, I “defended” Sundance (not that he needed it, but out of a sense of loyalty) and Bongino blocked me (too readily, IMO).

No doubt I am an outlier on this but I do think people who are in the last stages of their life, with absolutely no hope of any recovery or quality of life, should have some way to ease their passage. I have believed that for a very, very long time. I have put much consideration into this regards my own life.
I don’t see this as any different than pulling the plug, such as I had to do with my adopted Mom after she suffered a major brain bleed in 2012. It was massive – by the time I got to the ER (5 minutes approx.), the bleeding was already displacing the other half of her brain. In spite of this, she was life-flighted to a hospital in Omaha before I had a chance to stop it. She should have remained in Norfolk where extended family and close friends could have visited her before her death.
My son-in-laws Mother is another case in point. She had COPD and was suffering terribly, having to make 2-3 ER visits weekly because she couldn’t breath. On the one hand, we don’t allow our animals and pets to suffer through gruesome illnesses and death. I was a lurker at CTH for years. I finally started commenting last year and I was called a troll for not believing Jeff Sessions was a “traitor”. I stopped commenting and went back to lurking. Then one day, I noticed all my favorites treepers were gone. POOF! I remembered Wolf making a comment about an alternative blog and found all of you again. YEAH! After returning from extended vacation in Philippines, I noticed Flep had not posted in awhile.
Quite frankly I missed the Flep posts with data, analysis, insights, etc. At least four posts with lines such as, Flep, are you out there, missed your posts… All my posts evaporated after hitting send in Word Press. My position in the article went back to the top.
Last week or week before, while lurking at OT, I saw a “Fle we miss you” string. Someone had chimed in probably banished. Another said, no way. I chimed in, yep, pretty sad, and now posting elsewhere. That string, at least a dozen posts evaporated.
OT is now incredibly negative. Only was there just over a year. Maybe it was that way and I didn’t realize it.
Some of the articles by SD are quite insightful and thought provoking. Others really hard to accept. for me the bashing and over the top negativity during the Kavanaugh confirmation process.
CTH used to say they were interested in the truth. Perhaps it is one person or a couple folks version of truth.

It’s created all kinds of confusion. SJWs up in arms when someone on a dating site dumps someone who is trans. Yet when someone tells us they’re “gay” we’re supposed to accept their preferences. Identity politics cannot but descend into madness.

too often people compare themselves to some “ideal” they think they should be like instead of appreciating the uniqueness of themselves.
There is a lot of confusion about sexual feelings that honestly a few healthy sessions of CBT could sort out. Adolescents in particular do not have the intellectual categories or emotional maturity to sort these things out at a time where 1) they are being bombarded, targeted by stimuli 2) the adults in their lives – for various possible explanations – are not providing them with the guidance and education to help them understand their impulses and master them.
To all your points I would add that healthy relationships with adults are critical. For anyone reading this, if you have young adults in your life, be intentional with those times you have with them to be a voice of reason, a source of love and respect, and take every opportunity to mentor and listen. Even the small things, a five minute conversation at the bus stop might be the catalyst for a lifetime of healthy change and growth.
Yes, it is amazing what influence an outsider adult can have. We have seen it in some of the neighbor kids who grow up and came back to thank us for opening their eyes on how to get out of the poverty cycle.
We do kids entertainment and are some times at a flea markets. We are now getting some of the kids we interacted with twenty years ago stopping by with THEIR Toddlers to talk with us and thank us for the happy memories.
We always always try to talk to our little customers as if they are adults and have interesting and useful things to say to us. Some of those 10 to 14 year olds will astonish you when you do.
(It is a good time to drop the hint that trade school is also an option for the mechanically inclined.)

People generally don’t view information properly. If the machine is given the “more correct” side of the debate, it SHOULD WIN.

Up to now I’ve been thinking of the phones, not the transmitters. They pump out a lot more wattage because the very low-gain antennas in peoples phones have to be able to pick up the signal (to oversimplify: you need to either transmit with a strong signal OR receive with a high gain antenna; the tower to phone signal has a strong signal and a weak receiving antenna, the phone to tower has a weak signal and a high gain antenna.
You don’t want to be near high power microwaves–I doubt they cause cancer but being cooked is not healthy either.
The hydrogen bonds in the molecules of life are quantum critical, that is, stable unless jostled. Chaotic sources of non-ionizing radiation (digital comm protocols) can indeed jostle these bonds. As the molecules of life breakdown, the result is often observed as premature aging.
I realize you aren’t necessarily talking about cancer (or are you?) but I’ll put this out there.
Generally to cause cancer you must *break* a chemical bond, and that generally takes higher energy EM than microwaves. It doesn’t matter how much you pour on it, the individual quanta (photons) are still too weak to do the job when it’s microwaves. They aren’t considered “ionizing radiation” for this reason.
Microwaves heat things by causing water molecules to oscillate, introducing kinetic energy into the molecules, which on the macro scale becomes heat. This is a very different effect from ionizing radiation; the chemical bonds don’t break.
However it’s conceivable that they can raise your temperature enough to burn you; and burns of course DO involve breaking chemical bonds–but you’d notice the burns long before cancer was caused (like the poor guy in the article).
Richard Feynman has a lecture you can still find online where he explains how moving photon create fields. These fields don’t need high levels of power to electrically tug or even break bonds.
True all photons create those fields–actually it’s more accurate to say the photon IS those fields–and all fields have an effect, but there is a threshold for actually *breaking* a chemical bond, or kicking an electron out of the atom entirely, and it’s generally in the UV band or higher (X or gamma ray). The dark lines in absorption spectra (or the bright lines in emission spectra) show the light frequencies that cause electrons to jump shells, but getting them to completely leave an atom is a bigger jump and takes more energy.

The 5G equipment, unlike the earlier systems, uses a three dimensional array of wires in a phased array as its antenna, so that it can do beam-forming. The signal is shot directly at you like a laser pointer beam, rather than fanning out in a pizza-slice pattern from the tower.
Could use a lot less power at the tower end, but the amount that actually hits your body might be the same, or maybe even more.
The really bad news from my perspective is it means they know exactly where you are at all times.

Phased array? Kind of cool in the abstract. But yes, it indicates the phone has to know your azimuth from the tower to even function–this is probably knowledge it already has anyway, honestly, though less needed with the pizza slice pattern of today.
I can picture a 4G-like “handshake protocol” where the phone tells the tower where it is on an older-style connection, and, once that’s done the tower then switches to 5G phased array mode.
And every outfit currently selling equipment for it is controlled by the ChiCom government.

Whitaker was given the new assignment after the Senate voted Thursday to confirm William Barr as attorney general. Trump had installed Whitaker as acting attorney general in November, after forcing out Jeff Sessions.

1. Citizenship has always been on the long form, it is only about the more widely used short form.
2. Citizenship was on the short form for decades thru the 1950 census. It was removed for the 1960 census.

It occurred to me that they are also trying to steal the joy of COLOR from our lives. Think of any color, and there will be a negative connotation that directly links back to the left…
