Gail, so agree with you the impeachment should have been for treason and other charges that would have stuck, and I watched the whole process. Honestly I think we need to scrap DNS and replace it entirely w/ a new open/distributed record system and integrate PKI functionality into it. But there is NO way that will happen any time soon. Many implications, but one of the biggest headaches will be rearchitecting fundamentally the way email works (or doesn’t work).
IIRC ppl tried to set up a competing DNS infra in the past and ICANN shut them down.

Targeting DNS is a war dec on the inet. A move to DNSSEC is good – a move to more control is VERY BAD. Setting up DNS for expectations of ff is not cool.

The Internet DNS system is exactly analogous to the old white pages phone book. You’d look up a name in the book, get the phone number, and then you can dial the number. Instead of looking up your Dentist’s office you’re looking up names like “www.yahoo.com”, which provides an IP address which is exactly analogous to a phone number.
So the phone book worked because we had a basic level of trust in the Bell system to provide complete and accurate listings of phone numbers. But suppose some D said “The Bell system is really an international global system now and shouldn’t be U.S. property, it belongs to humanity.” Crazy sounding, isn’t it? But that’s what they said about the Internet.
Now suppose that the D’s arbitrarily decided to take the assignment of phone numbers and of the phone book away from the Bell System and instead hand it over to an international body. By an amazing coincidence, the international body is a non-profit organization based in Canada and controlled by Canadian and other globalist interests. Further they aren’t elected or accountable to anyone except those same interests. Let’s call them the Globalist Telecom Authority, or GTA for short. They have a pretty teal blue logo that makes you think they’re on the up and up.
This isn’t a problem as long as they maintain the illusion that the “system” is working normally. They dole out phone numbers to Ma Bell as she needs them, allows the allocation of area codes, lets people reassign numbers, and prints out the white pages for everyone. Life is happy, and everyone goes about their business, unawares of any problem…
Until a crisis or tipping point is reached where the GTA either decides to start leveraging their control over other nations, or hostilities break out. The GTA is bound by contracts, but they’ve been careful to structure things to their advantage within the text of the agreements. They argue that there are too many “bad people” using the phone system for the wrong reasons. They argue that “the platform” has become a tool of tango’s and criminals and needs to be reigned in. They start refusing to provide white pages listings to certain people. Remember the movie “The Jerk”? “I’m somebody now!” If you aren’t in the phone book, you don’t really exist. They don’t allow the dole out of new area codes to red states that keep passing freedom of telecom laws. They begin maintaining lists of “known rogue” numbers and create a system for blocking those numbers from the network. Ordinary citizens find that their phone numbers are no longer working. Some businesses aren’t receiving calls anymore and they can’t fix it before they go bankrupt. It seems out of control but a pattern emerges that certain types of people with certain political leanings are being shut out of the network.
In the event international hostilities break out, the GTA argues for “network security” and begins blocking and revoking peering agreements with other nations. The U.N. pushes a resolution that fails, blaming the U.S. for the conflict. Even though the resolution fails, other nations lobby for the GTA to revoke network service to the U.S. They begin systematically shutting down network allocations for the U.S. To maintain the reliability of service that the U.S. needs for strategic national interests, the military is forced to seize control of the U.S. network and operate it in a manner that is not compliant with the GTA’s authority. The GTA breaks off all peering with the U.S. and effectively disconnects the U.S. phone system from the world, creating business havoc. California negotiates with the GTA illegally and is allowed to re-peer internationally, and many businesses hustle to move their operations centers to the west coast. Suddenly, all the California Reps and Senators are opposed the U.S. actions and calling for unilateral withdrawal in the conflict. Other states and their congressmen follow suit. The leveraged control of the network by the GTA effectively controls international U.S. policy.
In short, the U.S. no longer has control or authority over it’s own network that it invented, and people without the U.S. interests at heart can do pretty much whatever they please.
Good description. I liken Øbozo’s “giving the net away”, which WE invented and built, with Carter’s giving away the Panama Canal, which we buiilt at a HUGE cost of both money and LIVES. And now it looks like China may end up with it…
The idea of an alternate DNS system is a good one, expecially with what has gone on with TLS (anyone remember “heartbleed”) and other protocols. I remember there were titanic battles between ICANN and another standards/control body, but for the life of me I can’t (ICANN’T?) remember who. Too many bad memories of CCITT and what they did to X.25…
network solutions was the first company that had a monopoly like control on domain names and then contol over the dns systems by winning bidding contests to run it after buying up everyone that was a competitor i think. they were pretty evil and were dling censoring even back in the esrly 2000’s and then got into more trouble.
Cuppa it’s really funny because I thought about using “CCITT” instead of “GTA” but I felt I was going WAY too far down the technobabble rabbit hole with that. And you’re totally right – the French and EU bodies do NOT have what is technically best for the world (and certainly not the U.S.) in mind!
Most of this stuff goes whoosh over my head but I recall a good while back certain sites were recommending people note down the sites IP address so if needs be they could reach it by going direct, probably it was at the time obama was selling the Internet out. However that idea didn’t work for every site, for instance I don’t think some sites have unique IP addresses, I might be wrong but I don’t think word press does.
Not sure I understand all this – in fact, I know I don’t. But wouldn’t each WP site (such as this one and others) each have unique IP addresses? For that matter, I would think WP does as well since they have a basic site where one can sign into their account? Aren’t those “unique?”
At the time I was collecting the IP’s of sites I used, some I couldn’t get, I formed the, totally uneducated, guess that somehow some sites shared an IP address. Like I said I’m out of my depth with that stuff.
So am I – WAY out of depth. Once I left the Beltway Bandit world, I had no further need to keep up with new technology so I have gotten way behind.
I replied but it disappeared, anyway I got the idea that some sites shared an IP address, though I most probably got it wrong.

The dog didnt realize the tortoise just wanted his own clubhouse. He even brought his blankie, but they got stuck. By yhe look on the dog’s face, he thought the whole thing was fun!
Firefighters had an unusual rescue on their hands this week when a 70-pound tortoise and a German shepherd dog got themselves wedged in a tunnel the tortoise had dug under a backyard wall.
The incident unfolded about noon Wednesday in the 8000 block of Regal Court, Capt. Jeremy Kern of the San Bernardino County Fire Department said in a written statement.
The tortoise, named Godzilla, had dug a 6-foot tunnel beneath a cinderblock wall in its backyard, he said. The tortoise’s yard mate, a German shepherd named Taylor, decided to join his reptilian pal in the burrow.
“It appears that the dog had brought a blanket into the tunnel, resulting in the dog, blanket and tortoise becoming wedged and entangled,” Kern said.
The animals’ owner was initially trapped in the hole as well, but managed to get himself out before firefighters arrived.
“Firefighters used tools in order to remove dirt from around the animals, along with coaxing the tortoise with lettuce in order to encourage the animal to move,” Kern said.
“In about 10 minutes, firefighters were able to un-wedge the animals and extract them out of the tunnel,” he said.
The dog and tortoise both appeared unharmed and were returned to their yard at the base of the tunnel, officials said.

I was at the bank today and a big black lufted pickup was just passing in front of me. I had the window down and the occupants of the truck bed were very happily checking everything out…2 bug german shepards! Ive been seeing a lit more of them. Maybe the new trending dog.
They are truly wonderful dogs.

I miss mine a lot, even though it’s been a couple of years now.
Old age finally claimed him.
He saved my life, literally, twice.
He took on a pack of wild feral dogs that were charging at us.
No fear.
He ran to them…rather than let them get close to me.
He took out the two biggest ones first, while enduring the smaller ones biting him.
When he turned to take on the rest…they took off.
It happened so fast, all I could do was watch in horror.
I loaded him up in my truck and raced him to the vet.
He never whimpered…not even once.
The look on that shepherd’s face in the photo you posted, was so much like the look on his face that day…after he fought off that pack.

Wheetie you had a special connection with your German Shephard. Thank God he was so fierce to protect you.
When I was about 2 1/2-3 we lived temporarily on a farm and the owner had a big German Shepard police trained.
He was in a cage run type outside. One day I decided to take my mother’s clothe brush to brush the dog. I opened the door closed it from the insight of his run and brushed the dog. One of my brothers told my parents.
My father stood outside the run and told me to come out and he would hit me for what I had done.
I retreated into the dog house and the dog laid himself in front of his dog house. He would not let my father near him or for my father to get me out of the dog house.
In defeat my father retreated and sometime later I finally got out of the dog house and left the run closing the door behind me.
I did get a spanking not that I was in he dog run but because the dog chewed up my mother brush and one could not buy a new one after the War. They never let me forget it.

Oh Wheatietoo, I saw comments about your dog, but just now hunted through the posts to learn what you said about him. I’m so sorry for your loss. My parents would never let us have a dog. I eventually learned why. They saw their Mitzie get killed bya car.
We had a black lab for a stint for the seeing eye dog training program. When he had to be taken to Detroit for evaluation and training, my DH signed a paper saying we didn’t want him back if he didn’t make the corps. I wanted him back. I realized that he was heartbroken as a little kid when his dog died, and didn’t want that happening again with us. Pepper didn’t make the corps because he had a hip problem so he was neutered and given to farm family.
LOL! Oh, boy. Now THAT is a story!

This news anchor died in a hotel not too far from his home during the middle of the day 2 days after Christmas. He was a popular news foodie guy. Apparently, he was gay, a drug addict, and seriously messed up. I wish he had not put his family in danger with his behavior. The news stations are refusing to say the truth of how it happened.
“KTLA anchor and reporter Chris Burrous was found to have died from methamphetamine toxicity, according to a Los Angeles County coroner’s report released Friday.
Burrous, who was 43, died on the afternoon of Dec. 27 after being found unresponsive at a Days Inn in Glendale with a male companion, according to authorities.
The Glendale Police Department initially said they were investigating Burrous’ death as a suspected overdose.”

I am drawn to trees. I live across little woodland and I mediate on the trees. In many ways they are like us in a spiritual sense. To complicated to get into it what and how I think about it.
I love to look at them in the winter also and see the bark and limbs and twigs.
I believe it was Merton who said coming upon the woods “the trees waved at him.” 🙂
Wen the wind gently moves through the trees listen how they whisper.
When it storms see how the threes sway in the storm but if they are rooted firmly in the earth (soil) they will not uproot.
We too can weather the storm if we are firmly rooted in Christ.

Another musical artist I have enjoyed for a long time is Yanni. New age but good, although I don’t understand why it’s billed as New age.
This is a segment from one of his videos that made a huge impression on a woman I met while our husbands were buying sound equipment. She was a young grandmotherly type, black woman. We both were drawn to Yanni’s video playing on a TV in the store. She looked at me and was near tears when she lamented why the young were not exposed to performances like this, but instead to gangster music. My heart cried for her and our kids.
This is known as the lady in red. I hope the video comes up.

Not far from me is a cultivated field. Corn, soybeans, wheat…
Near the road the farmer plows around a magnificent old Oak. In the winter it is something to see with its knarly branches reaching to the sky.
Right now is my favorite time of year with the trees coated with a soft haze of reds and yellows and light greens as they bud with tiny flowers and their tiny leaves unfurl. At their base, the tiny flowers of chickweed, Deadnettle, Speedwell and other early flowering weeds can be seen.

If this is true, then there is an awful lot of voter fraud going on in states like Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised about Oregon. We have mail-in voting only. New Hampshire WAS very Conservative. However a lot of liberals escaping the high taxes in MA moved to NH. Also many have vacation homes in NH and register their cars, drivers licence and voter registration there as well as use that vacation home as a ‘primary residence’ to escape MA income tax. Seveal of those I worked with in MA did so.
It would be interesting to look at the addresses of the primary residences vs WHERE these people work. and IF they also have MA residences. I bet if you were to do that time consuming job you would find NH is actually STILL a conservative state.

I suggest you research and choose at least three firearms that meet your needs before making a purchase. Go to a reputable gun range where you can rent and shoot the different firearms you picked.
It is important to use ammo that meets your self-defense needs and the environment you would most likely shoot the weapon.
Dry firing your weapon at home is great for familiarization and muscle memory.
When I go to the outdoor range , I always do calisthenics to increase my heart rate before shooting ; a similar physiological response to a real threat.

I have long argued they will cut off the manufacturing and distribution of ammo to mitigate the gun issue! Ammo also becomes a great bartering tool if SHTF—can’t have enough ammo, but you usually only shoot one gun at a time. Don’t want to run out of bullets—never heard anyone complain in law enforcement they had too many bullets!

We have a huge Celtic fair here in my little town every year, which draws people all the way from Scotland. The founder of our town was a Scot, who made a fortune in precious metal and built a mansion here. The fair is on the grounds.

I really liked Will James — Smokey (was a fictionalized description of a horse he actually had ad was stolen for example.) He had a really good book of non-fiction shorts including one about a guy who was blind. His sons trained a couple quarter horses who allowed him to continue to work his ranch. Thepart I esp. remember is him trying to take a short cut across a R/R track (often used) and the horse refusing. He dismounted and crawled along the track to find it was GONE!!! Unfortunately my parents gave away my entire library while I was at college… DARN!
There was another really interesting story in Driving Digest. It was about a Doctor who used a horse and buggy. He would sleep in the buggy between calls and the horse would make the rounds without direction (Self Driving Cart anyone?) Anyway he gets home just after a storm late at night. The next day his family is very surprise to see him since the bridge got washed away in the storm. They go out to check the tracks and found the horse came to the washed out bridge, circled around and JUMPED! landing far enough inland so the carriage also landed on solid ground!!!
Horses are quite simply amazing, IMO – ALL horses, I don’t care what breed!

When it comes to sunscreen, I highly doubt it. There have been warnings out there about some of the chemicals in sunscreen for a while. What we don’t know is what testing took place before they went to market. The tried and true products contain zinc oxide, the main ingredient in diaper rash cream, actually. And it can be VERY hard to find.

In my experience has nothing to do with globalism but all to do with regulations specially German.
In Germany for instant much that might be allowed here in US is seen or proven as not safe and therefore not allowed in products. US is more lax in many ways concerning toxicity.
Personally never used sunscreen I wear a large sun head for protection and take extra vitamin C.
have not had skin problems . I also brown naturally never burn even as child.
I have also always tanned naturally, altho I would get a slight sunburn. I used the old baby oil w/iodine my A-Mom used back in the day. I also fell asleep in the sun once on a business trip to Ft. Lauderdale and sunburned my shins badly. My right leg in particular is scarred, beginning with a burn scar around my ankle from a hot coffee accident when I was very young. It is on that shin that I have just one small spot of eczema. It never used to bother me until a couple of years ago, when I smacked it with a rake and got hit in that very spot with a rock thrown up from my weed eater. Since then, it flares up once in a while and itches, itches, itches.

Despite faithful consistent use of sunscreens, skin cancer is at records levels. It just might be the chemicals in sunscreen that cause cancer. It seems that we are constantly told that something that’s good for you is bad, and something that’s bad for you is good. Many years later, after the damage is done, we find that we’ve been mislead but it’s hard to change the programming. The conspiracy theorist in me says population control is a real agenda.

I believe people with fair skin are at a disadvantaged because they burn easily. Using good moisturizer and skin products through life help a lot. I used lots of herbal stuff and made my own when I had little money. My grandmother taught me. We need to pass on to our children and grandchildren what we learned.
By the way I see many older people with wrinkle and still see the beauty in them. I embrace every wrinkle I discover.:)

Then to be taken to a cell while my deaf wife had to put up with FBI agents throwing their possessions around various rooms, yeah, I would want to talk about it openly. Which, Stone was able to do for a while, but this court case is just a joke. But, he can’t let the world know that. Yeah, I would be furious.
I am not saying this entire case isn’t a sham – we all know it is and we all know it isn’t fair. Having said that, he only hurts himself more by spouting off. Like it or not, the fact remains, his life rests in that judge’s hands for now. Of course he is pissed but common sense is common sense.

Good info. The more we know, the better. Some here will probably disagree with me, but my opinions about Milo’s comments got me banned “over there.” In a nutshell:
–If this Reagan Battalion is targeting conservatives, that’s not good.
–On the other hand, Milo’s pederasty comments could only damage our side, and it was inevitable that someone would find and expose them.
–I found Milo’s speeches to be wandering and full of unnecessary sexual references and innuendo — something that “straight” pundits could not get away with, and something that distracts from the message. Instead, it focuses on a “look at me; I’m gay” message.
–If gays want to be treated like everyone else, they need to act with the same degree of professionalism as everyone else. We don’t wear our sexuality on our sleeves and talk about it at every opportunity.
–For the same reason, I got tired of purple headlines at Breitbart. They highlighted differences, not commonalities.
–His referring to then-candidate Trump as “daddy” was disgusting to me. I don’t think it’s healthy for a society to celebrate grown men acting like little girls. I saw people using that term in comments, but thankfully, no longer because his influence has been removed.
–Again, people may disagree, but I think Milo exited the stage at just the right time for a MAGA victory. I think his continued presence would have been a distraction and turnoff for many. Without him on the stage, we were able to focus on factors that affect all of us without distraction.
The Reagan Battalion might have been trhing to take out prominent conservatives, but in Milo’s case, it backfired on them.
Agree pretty much with everything you posted – however, he WAS an important voice within the gay community. I would venture to guess that most deeply conservative people, particularly within the evangelical community, were not even aware of Milo and his flamboyant ways. It was smart of CPAC to disavow him so they could remain ignorant.
Yes, I was glad someone from the gay community was so outspokenly conservative. He was openly supporting candidate Trump and becoming more prominent. I think in time many more people would have become aware of him and all his positive and not-so-positive attributes.
I think Milo helped open the eyes of the Gay Community especially after the Pulse night club shooting.
His getting taken off the stage when he did, HELPED the Trump campaign and did not hurt us. Again it open the eyes of the Gay Community to the fact they were ‘on a plantation’, while limiting any damage Milo could have done as a ‘Loose Cannon’

Without more info I would not put a lot of importance on the inactive status. A lot of lawyers who are not living in or near the state or those who are not practicing at all will go inactive. It is a way to maintain your good status so all that is necessary to go active is pay the fee to be active and show you have done the requisite continuing ed.

Keeping kids in private school or home schoolnis necessary. Charter schools and other types of private schools are iffy it seems. Private school is so expensive but im terrified to take mine to public school in CA.
